A man charged with taking care of an 11-year-old girl is now accused of raping her multiple times at her Triangle home.
Jose Piedad Don Juan Martinez, 32, of the 17400 block of Tangariro Square in Triangle was charged with two counts of rape and one count of attempted rape Friday.
The rapes occurred during the past four months, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
Police said Martinez is related to the victim and lives in the house where the rapes occurred.
News of this arrest comes one day after Manassas authorities said three city men were charged with rape, abduction, robbery and attempted malicious wounding after they lured a 20-year-old woman to hotel on Phoenix Drive and sexually assaulted her Feb. 3.
Police said the attack could have been gang-related.
The victim was treated at a local hospital for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
In 2008, Manassas police reported 19 rapes occurred in the city, up five from the year before.
In Prince William County, at least 45 rapes were reported to police in 2009. A total of 17 rapes were reported in the county in 2008.
