They are not objecting to the Arizona law because it seems racist, (they are foul racists themselves, the organization called "La Raza" means "The Race.") They object because it will be effective, it will work.
The single strongest reason the Illegal Alien lobby is trying to break and weaken support for the new Arizona law and efforts to assist in enforcing our Federal laws by adopting the same rules the Federals use, and now state authorties can participate where the Federal Government has utterly failed in enforcing the border integrity and internal immigration control.
They don't like the Arizona law because they fear it will be very effective... They prefer the immigration laws to be virtually ignored as the Federals do except for a few photo ops for publicity. . . . Yes, they like our laws to be unenforced... But now that Arizona can't take it anymore with the illegals destroying all of the state with criminal gangs, no jobs left, English not spoken, disease, drunk driving and crashing, and public costs bankrupting the taxpayers and business going under due to citizens leaving the state in droves being replaced by ignorant immigrants with more costs than contributions to offer..
So, if the law is enforced and now effective, they hate the law, because they want to stay and suck off the state full of productive citizens who are easy marks for them.
