Legislative Alert


This week is a very busy initial Committee time, with a 167 Senate bills and 264 House bills, plus Resolutions having been introduced so far this session. The House advanced one immigration oriented bill yesterday and an AZ clone was withdrawn. Articles here and here, Tomorrow and Thursday there are four bills of interest coming before Committee review.



Wednesday, the Senate State Affairs Committee takes on the Authority To Arrest Unlawful Aliens and Fair Legal Employment For Coloradans (E-Verify). At nearly the same time, in the House State Affairs, Identity Verification Of Lawful Presence will be presented.



This Thursday, the Senate Education Committee will take up in-state tuition for illegal aliens -- AGAIN. This version is a CA knockoff and very different from two years ago attempt. As the Dems control the Committee, with a numbers of Sponsors and Co-Spon on the Ed Comm, it will likely be passed on to the Appropriations Committee.



Listed below are the times, locations and bill links for the next couple days. The Senate and House Calender links will keep you informed as to any changes and upcoming events. Time allowed for testimony will most likely be limited to several minutes, as our opposition has called out their members.
