Spencer Abraham won’t go away. His name turned up on a Big
Business GOP donor letter pressuring the House Republicans to cave on illegal
alien amnesty. Joining Abraham? The usual open-borders suspects:
former Bush commerce secretary Carlos Gutierrez, amnesty cheerleader Karl Rove,
soft-on-enforcement former DHS secretary Tom Ridge, and other statist elites
who put cheap illegal alien labor above homeland security, the Constitution,
and the rule of law.
I want to remind you of what Spencer Abraham was doing in the
Senate in the years and months leading up to the 9/11 jihad attacks.
I repeat:
In my 2002 book Invasion (p. 71, 76),
I noted the open-borders obstructionism of former Sen. Spencer Abraham
(R-Michigan), who fought to block the implementation of two different tracking
databases–one for foreign student visa holders and the other for all temporary
visitors (which was mandated by Section 110 of the 1996 Illegal Immigration
Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act).
Abraham led efforts to starve the
first database of funding and crusaded several times to kill Section 110
altogether. On September 11, 2001, neither of those databases was in place. To
this day, they remain incomplete.
Yes, the same amnesty-peddlers who blocked basic tracking
databases and enforcement that have been promised and sabotaged and promised
over and over and over again support the Gang of Eight charade fronted by fool tool Marco
Rubio, who promises to implement the databases his patrons have prevented from
establishing for 13 years.
Even more troubling, Beltway lobbyist
Abraham has been a willing panderer
to Islamist interests.
Now, he’s leading the establishment effort to “save” the GOP. By
destroying it.
