The wealth of the 400 richest
Americans continues to soar, according to the results of the new
Forbes 400 list, published annually by the business magazine of the
same name.
Sessions-Brat: 14 million MORE immigrants in 10 years, 5-times all U.S. high school seniors
If nothing is done to address legal and illegal immigration, some 14 million more immigrants will come to the United States over the next 10 years, according to a warning call from two congressional immigration critics.
In a full-page ad to run in Roll Call Tuesday, and previewed in the paper today, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions and Virginia Rep. Dave Brat provided the raw data on the nation's building immigration problem and blew the whistle on the so-called "Gang of Eight" proposal to ease immigration rules.
"Including all forms of immigration, the Census Bureau estimates another 14 million immigrants will enter the U.S. on net between now and 2025 — that's almost five times the number of students who will graduate from public high school in America this year," the two wrote.
"On top of this, the U.S. issues each year approximately 700,000 visas to temporary foreign workers, 500,000 visas to foreign students, and 100,000 visas to refugees and asylum-seekers.
"Because these new immigrants and foreign workers arrive legally, corporations can legally substitute them for their existing workers at lower pay. From 2000 through 2014, all jobs gains among the working-age were claimed by foreign labor. Moreover, because immigrant workers are paid lower salaries, their wages are subsidized by U.S. taxpayers. A recent report from the Center for Immigration Studies revealed that 3 in 4 immigrant households with kids are drawing welfare payments," they wrote.
Their assault on the Gang of Eight bill was a warning shot at those eyeing the House speakership and presidency that conservatives won't back legislation that hints at amnesty.
"This is not immigration reform," they wrote. "This is the dissolution of the nation state, of the principle that a government exists to serve its own people."

report released by the Keystone Research Center.

Last week President Obama announced a series of
executive actions that he dubbed a “Student Aid Bill of Rights.”
The initiative is partially an exercise in damage
control. It follows a series of lawsuits and scandals involving the Department
of Education (DOE). The government agency has become the target of growing
anger for protection of predatory student loan collection agencies, its bailout
of the for-profit career college chain Corinthian
and its overall profit-taking from student loans.

The
43 million Americans who owe some $1.3 trillion in student loan debt were offered
zero forgiveness. In fact, Obama does not propose even one measure to actually
lessen the ever-escalating cost of college or encroach on the lucrative
business of student loan debt. All the “rights” remain in the hands of the
government, the banks and hedge funds.
Far
from a “Bill of Rights” Obama continues to deliver a fraudulent bill of goods.
At every point, his administration has protected the financial industry in
looting an entire generation of students, preventing millions of young people from
either attaining the education they desire or making them pay through the nose
for the rest of their lives.

Labor
statistics show that foreign-born workers account for all net gains in U.S.
employment in the past seven years, according to a group that advocates low
immigration.
The Center for
Immigration Studies issued
a report Friday that found 1.5 million fewer U.S.-born workers employed in 2014
than prior to the recession in 2007. Foreign-born employment for
both legal and illegal immigrants increased by more than 2 million workers
during the same time period.
