Judicial Watch reported on Monday the 23rd, that the day before President Trump's inauguration, Thursday January 19th, San Francisco issued a memo to all city employees reminding them they, "...may not use city funds or resources to assist or cooperate with any investigation, detention, or arrest procedures conducted by federal immigration authorities and relating to alleged violations of the civil provisions of federal immigration law."
This is terrific theater. In the Fox News report on San Francisco's pro-illegal alien rally in the weeks following Donald Trump's election victory, Claudia Cowan reported that San Francisco received $ 1 billion a year from the federal government.
San Francisco is the perfect "ground zero" for this battle with the President. Imagine a graphic of the San Francisco skyline, including the Coit Tower, TransAmerica Pyramid and the Golden Gate Bridge, with a huge mushroom cloud above it. The cloud is all federal dollars. And, overhead, coming out of the clouds is a huge federal vacuum cleaner, sucking up all the money.
In the past 48 hours a couple of mayors have stated that their cities will not be sanctuaries for illegal aliens.
Fresno, California Mayor Lee Brand said, "I'm not going to make Fresno a sanctuary city because I don't want to make Fresno ineligible from receiving potentially millions of dollars in infrastructure and other types of projects...My philosophy is to follow the law and to avoid these national culture-war questions."
And, Miami, Florida's Mayor Carlos Gimenez announced, "In light of the provisions of the Executive Order [Wednesday], I direct you and your staff to honor all immigration detainer requests received from the Department of Homeland Security.
