Former Attorney General Eric Holder Urges Americans to Hit the Streets if Trump Fires Mueller

Former Attorney General Eric Holder urged Americans to take to the streets if Special Counsel Robert Mueller is fired, even though the White House has not remotely suggested it was considering doing so.

He tweeted: “ABSOLUTE RED LINE: the firing of Bob Mueller or crippling the special counsel’s office. If removed or meaningfully tampered with, there must be mass, popular, peaceful support of both. The American people must be seen and heard – they will ultimately be determinative.”
ABSOLUTE RED LINE: the firing of Bob Mueller or crippling the special counsel’s office. If removed or meaningfully tampered with, there must be mass, popular, peaceful support of both. The American people must be seen and heard - they will ultimately be determinative.
Trump on Sunday said he had no intention of firing Mueller.
When asked if he was intending to do so, he replied, “No, I’m not.”
Still, Democrats and Trump critics have stepped up their defense of Mueller as Republicans have been successful in uncovering connections between Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the Obama Justice Department, and the Russia probe.
Some of the biggest revelations include finding out that the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid for the Trump dossier — an unverified piece of political opposition research produced by smear firm Fusion GPS.
Another has been that a senior Justice Department official, Bruce Ohr, met with the dossier’s author during the election, and met with Fusion GPS’s co-founder after the election, and that his wife, Nellie Ohr, worked on the dossier.
The latest big revelation is that a senior FBI counterintelligence official, Peter Strzok, who led the Clinton email investigation and signed off on the FBI’s initial investigation into Russian meddling, was not only vehemently anti-Trump, but that he and other senior FBI officials during the campaign discussed “a path” where Trump would not be elected.
The House intelligence and Judiciary committees have been chipping away at obtaining more information about the potential conflicts of interest, despite stonewalling by the Justice Department and the FBI.
They are investigating whether Strzok or other officials used the discredited Trump dossier to launch an investigation into Trump, obtain warrants to spy on the Trump campaign, and cast the administration under a cloud of suspicion in the lead up to the election, as well as afterward.
A recent poll, reported by The Hill, said a majority of American voters believe that Mueller has a conflict of interest because of his ties to fired FBI Director James Comey.
Holder’s tweet follows one where he claimed he was speaking “on behalf of the vast majority of the American people” and warning Republicans in Congress against any attempt to remove Mueller.

OBAMA AND HIS CRONIES IN BIG PHARMA AT WORK!

The Obama administration 'SABOTAGED a DEA operation to stop Hezbollah smuggling drugs into the US and helped the militant group grow into a global threat so the Iran nuke deal would go ahead'

  • Former president's officials accused of opening doors for cocaine traffickers and money launderers
  • DEA led a complex operation called Project Cassandra to bring down militants
  • Claimed Obama's people erected roadblocks, hindering agents
  • As the Iran nuclear deal neared its agreement, it became harder for the DEA
  • Once the deal was done, task force was scrapped
  • One US government operative said: 'Hezbollah operates like the Gambino crime family on steroids'
  • White House says it shows  a contrast between Trump's 'success against ISIS' and 'Obama's appeasement of terrorists'
The Obama administration has been accused of sabotaging an operation to stop Hezbollah smuggling drugs into the US so that the nuclear deal with Iran could proceed.
In a stunning exposé by Politico, the former President's Justice Department is said to have facilitated the Lebanese terror group's trafficking and money laundering operations by blocking the arrest of key Hezbollah figures.
Donald Trump's White House slapped at his predecessor Sunday night, with press secretary Sarah Sanders tweeting that the story shows a contrast of 'President Trump's success against ISIS vs. President Obama's appeasement of terrorists.'
And a Republican House leadership aide told DailyMail.com on Monday that the Obama White House 'was the worst of the worst when it came to fighting terrorism in the ways that mattered most.'
The Drug Enforcement Administration in 2008 began a complex operation called Project Cassandra to tackle Hezbollah - which was founded in the 1980s by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
But as the Obama administration worked towards a deal to stop Iran's nuclear program in return for the lifting of economic sanctions, the DEA's work got more difficult, Politico reports.
It is claimed Obama's people threw down a number of roadblocks, effectively paving the way for Hezbollah's $1bn-a-year illegal activities including cocaine smuggling in partnership with the Zeta cartel to continue.
DEA agents claim the Obama administration stopped them arresting key figures linked to Hezbollah as an agreement on the Iran nuclear deal approached - and scrapped Project Cassandra entirely once the terms were agreed in 2015.

The nuclear deal agreed to scrap crippling economic sanctions on Iran in return for a promise from to Tehran to stop nuclear development.
By putting themselves between the DEA and Hezbollah, the Obama administration helped the militant group grow into a global security threat that is suspected of designing IEDs used to kill American troops, the report said.
The undercover DEA investigation's leaders sought permission for a number of significant prosecutions, arrests and financial sanctions, but Justice and Treasury Department officials delayed after Obama was re-elected in 2012, Politico said.
In some cases, they were hindered and some requests from the DEA's Counter facility in Chantilly, Virginia, were flatly rejected.
This hampered Project Cassandra's efforts to bring the Hezbollah hierarchy to their knees.
They included one of the world's biggest cocaine traffickers who also supplied Syrian President Bashar al-Assad with chemical weapons.
Talking anonymously, some former Obama officials told Politico the decisions were made to improve relations with Iran.
Shortly after the three-part story went live, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted that it depicted Barack Obama's 'appeasement of terrorists'
Shortly after the three-part story went live, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted that it depicted Barack Obama's 'appeasement of terrorists'
David Asher, who helped establish Project Cassandra, told Politico: 'This was a policy decision, it was a systematic decision.
'They serially ripped apart this entire effort that was very well supported and resourced, and it was done from the top down.'
He added that the closer Obama for to finalizing the Iran nuclear deal, the more difficult the DEA's job became.
The weapons agreement was announced in January 2016, which coincided with Project Cassandra officials being moved onto other assignments.
Investigators were on the verge of homing in on dozens of important figures who acted as facilitators for the various criminal operations in Hezbollah's pockets, according to Politico.
'Hezbollah operates like the Gambino crime family on steroids
The report named a man with glasses called Abdallah Safieddine as Hezbollah's key point of connection.
He worked from his base in Tehran, and Jack Kelly - a veteran DEA supervisory agent - compared him to the notoriously slippery John Gotti aka Teflon Don.
Kelly told Politico: 'Hezbollah operates like the Gambino crime family on steroids, and he is its John Gotti.
'Whatever Iran needs, Safieddine is in charge of getting it for them.'
After more than a decade of tensions with the West, Tehran signed a landmark deal with world powers to curb its nuclear activity in exchange for the gradual lifting of crippling economic sanctions. President Donald Trump has threatened to scrap the accord.
The revelations also come just a week after the leader of Hezbollah swore to 'end' the US, calling for 'martyr' terror attacks in Jerusalem after Trump's recognition of the city as the Israeli capital.
Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of the Lebanese militant group, made the impassioned televised speech to thousands of followers, inciting the crowd to chant 'Death to America'.
This was followed by a warning to Lebanon from Israel's Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz, who said that if Hezbollah attacked Israel, the country would return the whole country 'back to the Stone Age'.
In his speech this week, translated by the Washington D.C.-based Middle East Media Research Institute, Hezbollah leader Nasrallah appeared to urge followers to carry out terror attacks in Jerusalem.
'It is time that everybody knows that America is not the sponsor of peace in Palestine and the region,' he said in the televised speech
'America is the sponsor of terrorism, of occupation, of Judaization, of deportation, of burning, of destruction and of civil strife.
'America created ISIS and the takfiri [apostate] groups.'

Hezbollah: Formed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, murderers of 241 US Marines and allies of Assad

BOMBING OF US MARINES IN BEIRUT
Hezbollah is widely believed to have masterminded the 1983 bombing of a US Marines barracks in Beirut that killed 241 American servicemen
It was the deadliest day for the Marine Corp since World War Two  after two suicide bomber drove two massive truck bombs into the complex and blew themselves up.
The bombing mastermind was Imad Mughniyeh who went on to found Hezbollah's global drug smuggling empire.
He was killed by a car bomb in Beirut in 2008 - allegedly planted by the CIA and Mossad.
HEZBOLLAH AT THE CENTER OF IRAN-SAUDI ARABIA PROXY WAR
The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah is at the center of the recent crisis that has gripped Lebanon and rattled a region already rife with conflict.
When Saudi-backed Prime Minister Saad Hariri declared his resignation last month in a surprise announcement from the Saudi capital, Riyadh, he blamed Hezbollah for imposing itself on the country and doing the bidding of its main backer, Iran, in Lebanon and elsewhere in the region.
The one-time local Shiite guerrilla army that rallied Lebanon's Shiites and battled Israel - even earning admiration from the region's Sunnis - has turned into a powerful, well-armed group caught up in the Iran-Saudi rivalry that is shaping the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia singled Hezbollah out, accusing it of declaring war on the kingdom, just as the US ratcheted up its pressure on Iran and imposed new sanctions on Hezbollah, which it considers a terrorist group.
They are funded by a vast array of illegal activities to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.
This includes drug trafficking and money laundering using channels linking South America, the Middle East and the US.
Here is a look at the 35-year old militant group, its sources of power and regional role.
BEGINNINGS and LEADERS
Hezbollah was formed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in 1982 to fight Israel's invasion of Beirut.
Under the leadership of Hassan Nasrallah, who took over in 1992 after his predecessor, Abbas Mussawi, was killed in an Israeli airstrike, the group moved from seeking to implement an Iranian-style Islamic republic in Lebanon to focusing on fighting Israel and integration into Lebanon's sectarian-based politics.
Nasrallah, now 57, has played a key role in ending a feud among Shiites, focusing attention toward fighting Israel and later expanding the group's regional reach.
WARS WITH ISRAEL
Hezbollah became the main militant group opposing Israel and the buffer zone it established in southern Lebanon in 1985.
In 1996, Israel launched an offensive to end the guerrilla attacks, striking Lebanese power stations and killing more than 100 Lebanese civilians sheltering in a UN base.
A year later, 12 Israeli soldiers were killed in a commando raid in the south.
Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000 was hailed as a victory for Hezbollah.
In the same year, Hezbollah captured three Israeli soldiers and a businessman in cross border raids, and later negotiated a swap in 2004, releasing hundreds of prisoners and fighters.
Then in 2006, Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers in a cross-border raid, sparking a 34-day war that killed 159 Israelis and more than 1,000 Lebanese.
A UN-brokered cease-fire brought thousands of international peacekeeping troops to police the Israeli-Lebanese border.
HEZBOLLAH AT HOME
Hezbollah's popularity at home didn't only stem from its opposition to Israel.
With a weak Lebanese state, the Iranian-sponsored group, like most other sects, provided a vast array of social services for its supporters, through education, health and social networks.
But as the militant group sought more executive and legislative powers following Israel's 2000 withdrawal, it worked to funnel some of its support through state institutions to reach the broader public.
Another turning point came in 2008, when heavily armed Hezbollah fighters seized control of vast parts of Beirut, flexing its power domestically for the first time.
The show of force followed attempts by Lebanon's Western-backed government to curb the militants' influence by dismantling its telecommunication network.
Hezbollah has been the most powerful player in Lebanon's politics ever since. Saudi Arabia and Iran, which backed opposite sides inside Lebanon, ended a two-year deadlock over electing a president by tacitly approving a power-sharing deal that effectively enshrined Hezbollah's new powerful role.
With that, Hariri, a Sunni, headed a unity government and Michel Aoun, a Hezbollah ally, became president.
REGIONAL FOOTPRINT
Hezbollah sent its gunmen to fight alongside the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in 2012, providing a significant boost to the overstretched military, and turning the tide of the war.
It was also crucial to safeguarding the Shiite militant group's access to Syria, the land corridor through which it is believed to get its weapons from Iran.
Citing estimates based on diplomatic reports and open-source data, Thanassis Cambanis, a fellow at the Century Foundation, said some 20,000 to 30,000 armed men, including 4,000 core fighters as well as local militiamen and tribesmen are under Hezbollah's command in the fighting in Syria and Lebanon.
This war has allowed Hezbollah's fighters to improve their interoperability, working closely with the Russian military and other Iranian-backed militias from Iraq or Afghanistan.
Hezbollah is also believed to have increased its military facilities in Syria's Qalamoun mountains and in the Golan Heights, as well as throughout Lebanon.
It is believed to have built munitions factories there and Israeli officials estimate it has an arsenal of 150,000 missiles.
'It has crossed a military threshold,' Cambanis said.
'Hezbollah today possesses a credible deterrent against pre-emptive war by its opponents.'
Hezbollah backing for Yemen's Houthi rebels has been harder to prove, though the structure and rhetoric of the Shiite Yemeni group mirrors that of Hezbollah.
Saudi Arabia accuses Hezbollah and Iran of providing the Houthis with training and financial support in the stalemated war that is causing a humanitarian disaster.
Saudi authorities said a recently intercepted missile near Riyadh airport, the longest-range yet used by the Houthis, had Iranian markings, confirmed by the Americans.
In addition, small arms shipments allegedly from Iran were confiscated before reaching Yemen.
And Saudi TV networks have aired what they say was evidence of Hezbollah fighters training the Houthis.

He said the only position the Islamic nation can take regarding the United States is 'Death to America', which was followed by a crowd of hundreds brandishing Palestine flags repeatedly chanting the threatening words.
He urged followers to turn Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital into the 'beginning of the end' for the U.S.and Israel 'for all eternity'.
He also called for 'millions of martyrs' to march on Jerusalem, potentially inciting terror attacks.
Israel and Hezbollah fought a war in 2006 and often trade warnings. But in an interview on Wednesday, Intelligence Minister Katz warned that if the organisation resumed a military conflict 'all of Lebanon will be a target.'
'What happened in 2006 would be a picnic compared to what could happen...
'I say Lebanon will return to the stone age.'

INCREASING TENSION WITH IRAN

Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital will hasten the country's destruction, Iran's defence minister said Monday.
Leaders of Iran, where opposition to Israel and support for the Palestinian cause has been central to foreign policy since the 1979 Islamic revolution, have denounced last week's announcement by the US president, including a plan to move the US embassy to the city.
The Palestinians want East Jerusalem as the capital of their future state.
'(Trump's) step will hasten the destruction of the Zionist regime and will double the unity of Muslims,' Iran's defence minister, Brigadier General Amir Hatami, said on Monday, according to state media.
The army's chief of staff, General Mohammad Baqeri, said Trump's 'foolish move' could be seen as the beginning of a new intifada, or Palestinian uprising.
Iran has long supported a number of anti-Israeli militant groups, including the military wing of Lebanon-based Hezbollah, which the deputy commander of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards, Brigadier General Hossein Salami, said was 'stronger than the Zionist regime.'

'There Was Collusion': Obama Reportedly Derailed Anti-Hezbollah Effort in Pursuit of Iran Nuclear Deal
Just how far did President Obama go to seal his nuclear deal with Iran? Apparently so far as to derail an anti-drug trafficking effort waged by Hezbollah.
Project Cassandra began in 2008 after the Drug Enforcement Administration was convinced that Hezbollah was amassing $1 billion a year from drug and weapons trafficking, money laundering and more. Operating out of Chantilly, VA, agents went undercover to map Hezbollah’s illicit networks and follow cocaine shipments.
The project got in the way of the Obama administration's nuclear agreement, new reports suggest.
But as Project Cassandra reached higher into the hierarchy of the conspiracy, Obama administration officials threw an increasingly insurmountable series of roadblocks in its way, according to interviews with dozens of participants who in many cases spoke for the first time about events shrouded in secrecy, and a review of government documents and court records. When Project Cassandra leaders sought approval for some significant investigations, prosecutions, arrests and financial sanctions, officials at the Justice and Treasury departments delayed, hindered or rejected their requests. (Politico)
In an attempt to build up the "moderate elements" of Hezbollah, the Obama White House was "reluctant" to punish its leaders. Perhaps that can explain why the U.S. failed to pressure the Czech government to extradite Lebanese arms dealer Ali Fayad to the U.S.
He is now believed to be "back in business," helping to arm militants in Syria and elsewhere with Russian heavy weapons.
Ari Fleischer, former White House press secretary for President George W. Bush, took the report to mean that we have found evidence of collusion after all.
Former Obama officials denied Project Cassandra's claims that they sought to derail anti-Hezbollah efforts for political gain.
“There has been a consistent pattern of actions taken against Hezbollah, both through tough sanctions and law enforcement actions before and after the Iran deal,” said Obama spokesman Kevin Lewis.
As we know, this is not the first report to suggest the Obama administration went to great lengths to secure the nuclear deal. A New York Times Magazine report revealed that former deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes intentionally mislead the American people and "manufactured" a story about how Iranian leadership had new, moderate voices.
"The idea that there was a new reality in Iran was politically useful to the Obama administration," the Times wrote.
In October, President Trump announced that he is not going to re-certify the Iran nuclear agreement. This means the deal will be reviewed by Congress and if sufficient changes are not made, the U.S. will officially back out.

The cost of the Dream Act is far bigger than the Democrats or their media allies admit.
