Kamala Harris's $50,000 LAPD guards not her first corruption rodeo
California's Sen. Kamala Harris, the leftist Democratic presidential wannabe who got herself in the news after piously posturing against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, has now been caught with her hand in the till, traipsing around California with a Los Angeles Police Department bodyguard detail in tow, at a taxpayer-paid cost of nearly $50,000.
NBC4 of Los Angeles has the details:
Armed, plain-clothes LAPD officers were dispatched to California cities outside of Los Angeles at least a dozen times to provide security for U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris at public events, media appearances, and a party.LA taxpayers paid for airline tickets, hotel stays, car rentals, and meals, according to detailed expense reports obtained by NBC News. The total cost of the trips, not including the officers' overtime, topped $28,000.
The $28K was just a starting point in the cost extravaganza – overtime and other expenses made the total close to $50K. A new police chief found out about the unprecedented freebie from the people of Los Angeles and put a stop to it. The mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, says he never heard of it and laid the blame squarely on recently retired LAPD chief Charlie Beck. One thing is certain: it's never been done before. But this being Harris, it's not surprising it happened.
Harris, per this Mother Jones biography, is a former California attorney general with a radical upbringing, who viewed her prosecutorial career not as a means of putting crooks in jail to protect communities, but as a means of long marching through the institutions – corrupting them from within by taking them over in the name of left-wingery. Everything was political for her, including her political rise as the mistress of California swamp thing extraordinaire, former State Assembly speaker, and San Francisco mayor Willie Brown.
As a prosecutor, she's engaged in some pretty impressive politically motivated corner-cutting. She falsified a confession transcript of a defendant and then, when she was caught, defended it. She's been caught making phony charges of racism about her Berkeley upbringing, as if Berkeley in the 1970s were a den of Klansmen. She has an army of fake Twitter followers in an obvious bid to make herself look more influential than she really is. Lately, she put out a deceptively edited video to smear Kavanaugh.
So no surprise to see her accepting an emolument from the politically correct and easy to shake down LAPD for free stuff. Stuff other candidates have to pay for. Stuff that costs taxpayers big bucks and creates lots of importance and prestige for herself. The Mother Jones profile notes that she seems to be obsessed with wearing upper-class status suits, so it looks perfectly in character.
Garcetti lays the whole scandal at the feet of LAPD former chief Charlie Beck, and sure enough, the pair of them go way back. Harris got elected attorney general in 2009, and Beck was the cop chief trying to avoid her politically correct prosecutorial gaze as he toed her political correctness line.
I trace them as far back as 2012 with this University of Southern California elite conference on human trafficking, here, though their ties may go back farther. Here's a photo of the pair, calling for gun control together in 2013. Here's another photo of the two, her mau-mauing him over Black Lives Matter in 2015. The purpose was to put more fetters on those "racist" police. By 2016, Beck was all in for toeing the Democratic Party line on immigration, with Harris actually inviting Beck to speak before the State Assembly about the importance of not prosecuting illegals because they might not call in crimes. Beck also was the first to call for the issuance of California driver's licenses for illegals as well as halting the towing of illegals' cars in L.A. Here's another one: he was accused of falsely lowering crime wave statistics, which was obviously a political move, given the state's soft-on-crime let-'em-out legislation.
The point? They go way back, and obviously, a sweetheart deal was executed, with Harris getting herself a free LAPD police detail to look important. Oh, and the LAPD police budget increased dramatically over those same years – with the LAPD under Beck even getting two air force bases.
Campaign contribution? You bet.
The thing is, Beck had a history of corner-cutting in just these kinds of transactions – which rather gave Harris some leverage against him. No wonder he toed her party line – and gave her free stuff.
In 2014, Beck got caught up in a corruption scandal around the sale of his daughter Brandi's horse – first to a police-linked foundation for $6,000, and later seeing that "donated" to the LAPD as a police horse. Nice deal for Brandi, and maybe the LAPD, but one wonders about those foundation funds.
He also punished officers erratically, based on family and political considerations, as illustrated when naked photos of Brandi turned up in the possession of an officer on the hot seat, and Beck let him off to sweep the matter under the rug. So you can see that Beck cuts corners, and Harris was in a position to punish him – but somehow she ended up with an LAPD free police detail, to go with her from city to city, instead.
Does this stink of patronage? What else could it be? What's needed now is to put Harris in the hot seat for one-hand-washes-the-other corruption – preferably the kind of treatment Kavanaugh had to endure.

NCLR Funding Skyrockets After Obama Hires Its VP Munoz
A Judicial Watch investigation reveals that federal funding for a Mexican La Raza group that for years has raked in millions of taxpayer dollars has skyrocketed since one of its top officials got a job in the Obama White House.
The influential and politically-connected National Council of La Raza (NCLR) has long benefitted from Uncle Sam's largess but the group has made a killing since Obama hired its senior vice president (Cecilia Muñoz) in 2009 to be his director of intergovernmental affairs.
Ignored by the mainstream media, Judicial Watch covered the appointment because the president issued a special "ethics waiver" to bring Muñoz aboard since it violated his own lobbyist ban. At the pro illegal immigration NCLR, Muñoz supervised all legislative and advocacy activities on the state and local levels and she was heavily involved in the congressional immigration battles that took place in the George W. Bush Administration.
She also brought in a steady flow of government
cash that's allowed the Washington D.C.-based
group to expand nationwide and promote its
leftist, open-borders agenda via a network of
community organizations dedicated to serving

The presidential candidates and the media have legitimized "The Race" as a mainstream ethnic lobbying group and marginalized its critics as intolerant bigots. The unvarnished truth is that the group is a radical ethnic nationalist outfit that abuses your tax dollars and milks PC politics to undermine our sovereignty.

“Nonpartisan” La Raza Council Endorses Obama
Although the nation’s largest Latino advocacy organization is a nonprofit that must remain nonpartisan because it gets millions of U.S. federal grant dollars, the group’s president helped lead a Barack Obama pep rally over the weekend during an annual conference in a California city close to the Mexican border.
The extremist Mexican group National Council of La Raza clearly endorses Barack Obama, which is why La Raza President Janet Murguia stood by as Los Angeles’ renowned Chicano mayor (Antonio Villaraigosa) praised the Illinois senator during the group’s annual convention in San Diego. A former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman, Villaraigosa assured the crowd of thousands that Obama is Latinos’ best hope for reforming the nation’s federal immigration policies.
Villaraigosa took the opportunity to further pump up Obama, telling the crowd at the so-called nonpartisan convention that 12 million illegal immigrants can be brought "out of the shadows and into the light and onto the tax rolls by electing Barack Obama."
If that’s not an endorsement, then what is? The Obama pep rally is sure to continue through the end of the La Raza convention sometime today. Such political endorsements are prohibited by nonprofits in the United States, especially the ones that benefit from millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars like this group.
As it is, Americans should be outraged that their tax dollars are going to an extremist Mexican group that advocates open borders and organized many of the country’s disruptive pro illegal immigration marches last year. The National Council of La Raza caters to the radical Chicano movement that says California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and parts of Colorado and Texas belong to Aztlan.
The takeover plan is referred to as the "reconquista" of the Western U.S. and it features ethnic cleansing of Americans, Europeans, Africans and Asians once the area is taken back and converted to Aztlan. While this may all sound a bit crazy, this organization is quite powerful and its leaders regularly attend congressional hearings regarding immigration.
A few months ago the group got a $15 million federal earmark to counsel Hispanics about housing in addition to $1.3 million from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to conduct “comprehensive” housing counseling for Hispanics, whether they are in the country legally or not. Sen. Kamala Harris Condemned for Leading Kavanaugh Smear with Deceptively Edited Video
Sen. Kamala Harris of California is being condemned for leading an attempt to smear Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh – this time with a deceptively edited video of a portion of his Senate confirmation hearings.
The California Democrat tweeted an edited video of Kavanaugh’s response to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s questions about the judge’s 2015 dissent from denial of hearing en banc in the case of Priests for Life v. HHS:
The case involved Priests for Life’s lawsuit against the federal government over Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate provision. The pro-life organization ultimately appealed the decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, which upheld the Obama administration’s “accommodation” for religious employers who objected to being forced by the government to provide free contraception, sterilization procedures, and abortion-inducing drugs to employees through health insurance plans.
The “accommodation” required faith group-employers that objected to the mandate to notify the federal government of their objection by filing a form. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) was then to arrange for the same coverage of the same services with the employer’s insurance company, rather than the employer himself.
In his response to Cruz’s question about his dissent, Kavanaugh responded by summarizing the position of the plaintiffs, Priests for Life:
That was a group that was being forced to provide a certain kind of health coverage over their religious objection to their employees and under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the question was: First, was this a substantial burden on the religious exercise? And it seemed to me quite clearly it was. It was a technical matter of filling out a form in that case. They said filling out the form would make them complicit in the provision of the abortion-inducing drugs that they, as a religious matter, objected to.
However, Harris’s video was a sliced-and-diced version of Kavanaugh’s response to Cruz – which made it appear the nominee himself views contraceptives as “abortion-inducing drugs.”
“Kavanaugh chooses his words very carefully, and this is a dog whistle for going after birth control,” she posted. “He was nominated for the purpose of taking away a woman’s constitutionally protected right to make her own health care decisions. Make no mistake – this is about punishing women.”
As Carrie Severino, chief counsel and policy director to the Judicial Crisis Network, wrote at National Review:
It’s clear that in his testimony to Senator Cruz, Kavanaugh was repeating the words that the plaintiffs had used in their own briefs. To say that because Kavanaugh accurately characterized the plaintiffs’ position he himself believes that contraceptives are abortion-inducing drugs demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of the Priests for Life litigation, as well as Kavanaugh’s testimony yesterday.
CNN,HuffPo, Planned Parenthood, and NARAL pushed out Harris’s narrative, but the senator – considered to be a 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful – received such criticism for her smear that she was forced to tweet out the full video excerpt of the exchange between Cruz and Kavanaugh:

Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, told HuffPo, “Kavanaugh referred to birth control ― something more than 95 percent of women use in their lifetime ― as an ‘abortion-inducing drug,’ which is not just flat-out wrong, but is anti-woman, anti-science propaganda.”
“Women have every reason to believe their health and their lives are at stake,” Laguens continued with the narrative. “Let me break it down for you, Brett. Birth control is basic health care. Birth control allows women to plan their futures, participate in the economy, and ― for some women with health issues like endometriosis ― allows them to get through the day.”
Similarly, Bob Bland, co-president of the Women’s March, said, “We know Brett Kavanaugh is against abortion, and now we know he thinks birth control is abortion.”
Abortion political advocacy group NARAL also tweeted:

CNN then reported that Beth Lynk, a Planned Parenthood spokeswoman, “acknowledged the error” of the smear, but insisted Kavanaugh had misrepresented the case.
“The argument for the lawyers of Priests for Life was that they objected to all birth control,” she said. “In Kavanaugh’s testimony his description of their objection characterized all types of birth control as ‘abortion inducing drugs.'”
White House principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah tweeted, “By posting ‘full answer,’ @KamalaHarris tacitly concedes to deceptive editing. Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, said in a statement sent to Breitbart News that Kavanaugh accurately described “abortion-inducing drugs”:
Disputing with Judge Kavanaugh on terminology is a distraction from the main point, which is that the law must protect citizen’s rights to live their sincerely held religious beliefs, no matter what terminology they use in expressing those beliefs. Judge Kavanaugh completely understands the distinction between contraception and ‘abortion-inducing drugs’ and knows that some redefine pregnancy as beginning at implantation rather than fertilization.
