Confirmed: Trump’s Housekeeper At His New Jersey Golf Course Is An Illegal

https://hotair.com/archives/2018/12/06/confirmed-trumps-housekeeper-new-jersey-golf-course-illegal/

The man is an open-borders cuck. End of story.
Well, that or he’s a hypocrite who’d betray one of his core nationalist principles to save a buck. I’m sure this, the 8,000th story about Trump placing his personal interests above all else, will be the one that sinks him, though.
TRENDING:
Confirmed: Trump's housekeeper at his New Jersey golf course is an illegal
According to the Times, not only is the current housekeeper here illegally, the person she replaced is too.
The two women said they worked for years as part of a group of housekeeping, maintenance and landscaping employees at the [Bedminster] golf club that included a number of undocumented workers, though they could not say precisely how many. There is no evidence that Mr. Trump or Trump Organization executives knew of their immigration status. But at least two supervisors at the club were aware of it, the women said, and took steps to help workers evade detection and keep their jobs.
“There are many people without papers,” said Ms. Diaz, who said she witnessed several people being hired whom she knew to be undocumented…
“We are tired of the abuse, the insults, the way he talks about [illegals] when he knows that we are here helping him make money,” [Victorina Morales] said. “We sweat it out to attend to his every need and have to put up with his humiliation.”
It’s a brilliant new strategy for detecting illegals hiding among America’s workers: Denigrate them to the point where they can’t resist leaping out of “the shadows” to cry, “F*** this guy.”
The obvious defense, per the excerpt above, will be that the supervisors at Bedminster may have known what was going on but Trump himself did not, as our president would surely never knowingly bend rules in search of profit. The Times has circumstantial evidence to the contrary, though. For one thing, the golf course doesn’t use E-Verify (New Jersey law doesn’t require it) even though Trump made a point of noting on the trail in 2016 that his new hotel in Washington used it. Why he didn’t insist that it be implemented at all of his properties I leave to your own speculation.
Further, when the Times itself ran Morales’s ID numbers through a federal database it received no match, something that surely would have been noticed by hiring supervisors at the course. Last year, when Morales was forced to get new fake ID cards, it was allegedly a manager(!) who put her in touch with a maintenance worker who knew where to go to get them. There were also new rules instituted on the premises when Trump jumped into the presidential race in 2015, with Morales told not to clean Trump’s residence anymore (although she still does occasionally), a measure that seems designed in hindsight to create some form of plausible deniability. E.g., “Yes, illegals were working there, but Trump couldn’t have known because he never had direct contact with them.”
A question: Would supervisors have dared to retain a work force of illegal immigrants without Trump’s permission, knowing what might happen to their own jobs if they went behind his back to assemble one and were later found out? The risk of political embarrassment here was high. Why not start phasing out the illegal workers in 2015 and replace them with Americans before the boss discovered the truth? Unless, that is, the boss wanted them working there because the labor was cheap and he figured his fans would forgive him anything if the truth came out. Another obvious question, posed by Morales herself: “I ask myself, is it possible that this seƱor thinks we have papers? He knows we don’t speak English… Why wouldn’t he figure it out?” She and other illegals did have direct contact with Trump himself, she claims, and he was kind and generous to them personally. Did he really think the Latino workers around him who couldn’t converse in English were all American citizens or legal guest workers?
If that’s the new standard, that employers are off the hook in hiring illegals so long as they’re willfully blind to the hallmarks of illegal status that are right in front of them, what percentage of American employers should now be held blameless for hiring “the undocumented”? Ninety percent?
Normally Trump’s way out of a jam like this would be to play the game he played during the game when asked about donating to Democratic politicians. He’s just following the rules that the globalist elite have created for their own enrichment. If corrupt establishmentarians want to let rich people buy lawmakers, he’ll take advantage. If corrupt establishmentarians want to look the other way while untold millions of foreigners sneak across the border to work menial jobs, he’ll take advantageImmigration isn’t an ordinary issue for him, though. It’s his signature issue, his populist-nationalist bread and butter. It should be harder for him to get cover from his base on this — in theory. In practice, he’s defended his habit of hiring seasonal foreign workers over Americans at Mar-a-Lago multiple times and it’s widely known that he settled a lawsuit a few years ago that accused him of hiring illegal Polish laborers on a construction project in the early 80s. Hasn’t hurt him a bit. This NYT story will be old news by morning.

What’s clear is that the producers are leaving the state and the takers are coming in. Many of the takers are illegal aliens, now estimated to number over 2.6 million.
The Federation for American Immigration Reform estimates that California spends $22 billion on government services for illegal aliens, including welfare, education, Medicaid, and criminal justice system costs.

No one should take Trump’s performances on border security, jobs for legals or his pretend wall seriously. No more seriously than the rest of his twitter drivel.

Tucker Carlson Says Trump Has Failed to Keep His Promises

Fox News host Tucker Carlson said in an interview Thursday that President Donald Trump has succeeded as a conversation starter but has failed to keep his most important campaign promises.

“His chief promises were that he would build the wall, de-fund Planned Parenthood, and repeal Obamacare, and he hasn’t done any of those things,” Carlson told Urs Gehriger of the Swiss weekly Die Weltwoche.
“I’ve come to believe that Trump’s role is not as a conventional president who promises to get certain things achieved to the Congress and then does,” said Carlson, whose new book Ship of Fools is a New York Times bestseller.

“I don’t think he’s capable. I don’t think he’s capable of sustained focus,” he added. “I don’t think he understands the system. I don’t think the Congress is on his side. I don’t think his own agencies support him. He’s not going to do that.”
On the other hand, Mr. Trump has succeeded in changing the national conversation and forcing Americans to reexamine issues of key importance, such as immigration.
“I think Trump’s role is to begin the conversation about what actually matters,” Carlson said. “We were not having any conversation about immigration before Trump arrived in Washington. People were bothered about it in different places in the country. It’s a huge country, but that was not a staple of political debate at all.”
“Trump asked basic questions like ‘Why don’t our borders work?’ ‘Why should we sign a trade agreement and let the other side cheat?’ Or my favorite of all, ‘What’s the point of NATO?’,” Carlson said. “The point of NATO was to keep the Soviets from invading western Europe but they haven’t existed in 27 years, so what is the point?”
“These are obvious questions that no one could answer,” he said.
Despite his natural suspicion of irresponsible elites, Carlson said he is not a populist, because populism is a reaction to a failed political system.
“Populism is what you get when your leaders fail. In a democracy, the population says this is terrible and they elect someone like Trump,” he said.
This, in turn, is the fruit of a misshapen, education-based meritocracy, where “a small number of colleges has produced a ruling class that doesn’t have the self-awareness that you need to be wise.”
A self-confessed product of this elite system, Carlson says that he began to realize how far the country had gone after the 2008 financial crisis, which was barely felt in affluent Washington D.C.
“If you leave Washington and drive to say Pittsburgh, which is a manufacturing town about three and a half hours to the west, you drive through a series of little towns that are devastated. There are no car dealerships, there are no restaurants. There’s nothing. They have not recovered,” he said.
Rural America, he thought at the time, “is really falling apart” and yet nobody in Washington seemed to understand that. In the end, “the elite in our country is physically separated in a way that’s very unhealthy for a democracy, very unhealthy.”
Trump, on the other hand, “could smell that there was this large group of voters who had no one representing them and he brought them to the Republican side, but the realignment is still ongoing,” Carlson said.
A month ago, Carlson’s home was assailed by Antifa “protesters,” during which his wife hid in the pantry and called the police.
“This has a chilling effect on people’s ability to speak and to think freely,” Carlson said. “That’s the point. It’s totalitarian in its intent. We should fight it.”
“Our public conversation has been hijacked by extremists like this,” he said.

Report: Trump Says He Doesn't Care About the National Debt Because the Crisis Will Hit After He's Gone

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2018/12/06/report-trump-says-he-doesnt-care-about-the-national-debt-because-the-crisis-will-hit-after-hes-gone-n2537038

In politics, a "Kinsleyan gaffe" is defined as the misfortune of a politician inadvertently telling the truth.  A new piece in the Daily Beast reports that President Trump myopically rebuffed early recommendations that his administration take policy steps to curb the country's unsustainably swelling national debt, privately telling aides that the eventual fiscal crash would happen on someone else's watch.  If accurate -- and it's certainly plausible, given his campaign rhetoric -- this calculation combines irresponsible, short-sighted, buck-passing cynicism with frank honesty:
The friction came to a head in early 2017 when senior officials offered Trump charts and graphics laying out the numbers and showing a “hockey stick” spike in the national debt in the not-too-distant future. In response, Trump noted that the data suggested the debt would reach a critical mass only after his possible second term in office. “Yeah, but I won’t be here,” the president bluntly said, according to a source who was in the room when Trump made this comment during discussions on the debt…Several people close to the president, both within and outside his administration, confirmed that the national debt has never bothered him in a truly meaningful way, despite his public lip service. “I never once heard him talk about the debt,” one former senior White House official attested.
As I wrote in this space not too long ago, neither of our political parties is truly serious about addressing this brewing crisis, or arresting our downward spiral. Republicans were full of sensible, forward-looking ideas and policies when those policies had no chance of implementation, but when they gained full power in Washington, the difficult, painful and necessary project of entitlement reform fell by the wayside. (I should note that the unsuccessful Obamacare repeal effort would have reformed one major program, and will remind readers that tax reform is emphatically not the causeof our fiscal difficulties). The president is simply not interested in leading on this issue, and he's reportedly told his subordinates precisely why that's the case.  Liberals will undoubtedly decry this revelation as further evidence of Trump's recklessness and selfishness, but let's be serious: If the quote attributed to the president is accurate, he was simply stating outright what many, many politicians have privately concluded for years, all while feigning concern about the debt for public consumption.
The Obama administration, under which the national debt exploded to an unprecedented degree, vastly expanded an already-failing entitlement -- and now President Obama has endorsed the massive expansion of another already-insolventprogram, which is already the top driver of our long-term debt.  The math is empirical and could not be clearer, yet any and all efforts to tackle the predictable crisis have been reflexively rejected.  I'll never forget the following exchange between Obama's Treasury Secretary and then-House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan.  Ryan, one of a handful of politicians who actually seems to understand the urgency of the long-term debt challenge, confronted Timothy Geithner with the same sort of chart that apparently left Trump unmoved.  Geithner outright admitted that Team Obama had no alternative solution, simply reaffirming that they opposed Ryan's reforms.  Toggle ahead to the very end of this clip:

Dem Sen. Hirono: ‘Trump Looks for People Who Are Going to Protect,’ ‘Cover’ for Him

William Barr and Heather Nauert are Trump's top choices for attorney general and UN ambassador, sources say.

Friday on CNN’s “New Day,” Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) reacted to the report President Donald Trump has his eyes on former Attorney General William Barr to serve again as attorney general and State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert to serve as United Nations ambassador to replace outgoing Nikki Haley.
Hirono questioned Barr as Jeff Sessions’ replacement, arguing that Trump is looking for people who will “protect him” and “cover for him” because Barr has defended former FBI Director James Comey’s firing and been critical of FBI special counsel Robert Mueller’s team.
On Nauert’s nomination, Hirono said she would have “difficulty” supporting her due to her lack of experience.
“I do not know that being loyal to the president is the uppermost qualification. It is for the president, but it isn’t for me,” Hirono said.
She added Trump “very clearly” struggles to find experienced and qualified people for jobs within the administration.
