sanctuary jurisdictions are listed below. These cities, counties, and states
have laws, ordinances, regulations, resolutions, policies, or other practices
that obstruct immigration enforcement and shield criminals from ICE — either by
refusing to or prohibiting agencies from complying with ICE detainers, imposing
unreasonable conditions on detainer acceptance, denying ICE access to interview
incarcerated aliens, or otherwise impeding communication or information
exchanges between their personnel and federal immigration officers.
A
detainer is the primary tool used by ICE to gain custody of criminal aliens for
deportation. It is a notice to another law enforcement agency that ICE intends
to assume custody of an alien and includes information on the alien's previous
criminal history, immigration violations, and potential threat to public safety
or security.

Texas Adding 9 Hispanics to Population for Every White Resident

The state of Texas is
adding about nine Hispanic residents to its population for every one white
resident, the United States Census Bureau states.
The Texas Tribunepublished the latest Census Bureau data
and projections which indicate that between 2010 and 2018 the Hispanic
population in Texas has grown at nearly four times the rate of the white
resident population and more than three times the rate of the black resident
population.
Today, the Texas Hispanic
population stands at almost 11.4 million. This indicates that Texas adds nearly
215,000 Hispanic residents every year, while the black resident population
grows by only 60,000 a year and the white resident population grows by about
54,000, on average, a year.
Last year, alone, the white
resident population of Texas grew by only about 24,000.

Hispanics, the Census data
indicates, could become the largest population group in the state by as early
as 2022, outpacing the 11.9 million white residents who currently live in
Texas.
This year, the Census Bureau revealed that legal immigration — where
the U.S. admits about 1.2 million legal immigrants a year, mostly from Central
and Latin America — is driving nearly half of all population growth in the
country.
Since 2011, the level to which immigration has accounted for
overall population growth has increased more than 13 percent. At the current rate
of legal immigration, about 1-in-6 U.S. residents will be
foreign-born by 2060 and about 1-in-10 U.S. voters in the upcoming 2020
election will have been born outside of the country.
In the next two decades, should the country’s legal immigration
policy go unchanged, the U.S. is set to import about 15 million new foreign-born
voters. About eight million of these new foreign-born voters will have arrived
through the process known as “chain migration,” where newly naturalized
citizens are allowed to bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the
country.
Foreign-born voters, as research by Axios, the New York Times,
University of Maryland, College Park researcher James Gimpel, and Ronald Brownstein has confirmed, are more
likely than native-born Americans to vote for Democrats.

The debate
over the border wall rages on. The government remains shut down, and both
President Trump and Sen. Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Speaker Pelosi (D-Calif.) are dug
in for a prolonged fight. The president's prime time address highlighted the
criminal consequences of lax enforcement policy. He noted:
In the last two years, ICE officers
made 266,000 arrests of aliens with criminal records, including those charged
or convicted of 100,000 assaults, 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 violent
killings. Over the years, thousands of Americans have been brutally killed by
those who illegally entered our country, and thousands more lives will be lost
if we don't act right now.
The president
did not mention the draw of sanctuary cities in his speech. But they are an
important part of the immigration enforcement equation and his administration
continues to try
to reign them in. These
jurisdictions shield criminal aliens from ICE, for no reason other than
politics. Sanctuary cities actually put illegal aliens who are not
necessarily the primary targets of ICE at greater risk of deportation because
ICE is forced to make more at-large arrests in immigrant
communities – at workplaces, dwellings, and on the street, rather than in
controlled jail or courthouse environments.
Sanctuary
cities are dangerous because they only benefit criminal aliens. We have
defined sanctuary policies as those that deliberately hinder federal
immigration authorities from identifying or arresting deportable
aliens. These policies typically take the form of preventing communication
with immigration authorities, blocking ICE from contact with criminal aliens, or
rejecting ICE detainers and arrest warrants. These policies inevitably
cause the release of deportable criminal aliens back to the community, and they
are a public safety hazard.
Not satisfied
with keeping ICE out of jails and courthouses, some sanctuaries are taking
it a step further. Many jurisdictions, often major cities, are now using
taxpayer funds to actively support and assist illegal aliens living there. Some
of these cities provide free legal advice to illegal aliens fighting to stay in
the country. Others provide discounted housing specifically for illegal aliens.
Alarmingly, some dole out voting rights to their illegal residents. These are
the super-sanctuaries.
Washington,
D.C.
The Pew
Research Center estimates
that around 400,000 illegal aliens live in the Washington metro area. Luckily
for them, the city of Washington, D.C., and the surrounding counties are here
to help. The Capital
Area Immigrants' Rights Coalition (CAIRC) offers legal aid to all illegal immigrants,
even those fighting criminal cases. Most of their funding comes from public
coffers, according to their
Form 990. D.C. Mayor
Muriel Bowser created a $1 million fund to support organizations that help aliens
file asylum applications, exacerbating the backlog. D.C. (along with the Department of
Justice and Fairfax County) directly support Ayuda, a law firm that "provide[s] expert legal services so that
low-income immigrants can overcome barriers and access justice."
Hyattsville
and Takoma Park, Md., both allow illegal aliens to cast
ballots in
local elections. A similar proposal for College Park, Md., failed despite
strong support from the community.
The D.C.
metro region is filled with regular sanctuary cities. Fairfax County, Arlington
County, and Montgomery County all regularly refuse to cooperate with ICE's
detainer notices. But the D.C. metro region acts as a super-sanctuary because
its communities also use public money to support illegal aliens.
New York, N.Y.
The city's
comptroller notes that "New York City has stood as a beacon of hope and
opportunity for immigrants, holding out the promise of a better future to
millions of people around the world." New York and its surrounding area is
home to over 1.15 million illegal aliens, according to Pew, the most of any
metropolitan area.
Its services
for illegal immigrants are widespread and numerous. The city devotes an entire
website for "Immigrant
Services",
largely focusing on the problems of illegal aliens. This includes exhaustive
information on topics such as enrolling illegal-alien children in public
schools. It instructs people how to act if ICE officers speak to them. Visitors
can find links to low-cost and pro bono immigration lawyers. Those in need can
find helpful links to welfare programs they or their children may qualify for.
Recently,
Mayor de Blasio announced that hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens will now
have access to health care through NYC Care. NYC Care is a publicly funded
system that will allow
aliens to access services at NYC Health + Hospitals, the city's municipal health system. NYC
Care will cost at least $100 million annually when it is fully operational in
2021.
Illegal
aliens were able to cast ballots in school board elections until the city did
away with school boards in 2002. Legislators continue to debate enfranchising
the illegal population for municipal
elections.
New York City
offers free legal advice to illegal aliens as well. Mayor de Blasio personally
oversaw the creation of Action
NYC, a service of
the city that "connects New Yorkers to free, safe immigration legal
help." Action NYC's annual budget exceeds
$30 million. That is
a remarkable sum for a city that still boasts the largest
homeless population in
the country.
New York City
is one of the most open sanctuary cities in the country. In addition to city
services and legal resources, soon illegal residents will be able to benefit
from public health care. That outreach elevates New York to the echelon of
super-sanctuary.
Chicago, Ill.
According to
Pew, over 425,000 illegal aliens live in the Chicago area. The Office of the
Mayor, currently Rahm Emmanuel, operates a website that celebrates Chicago's status
as a sanctuary city. The "Sanctuary
City Supportive Resources" website offers advice on how to access city resources
and lists a number of participating advocacy groups for immigrants.
Additionally,
the city created the Chicago
KeyCity program to
help illegal immigrants assimilate into city life. KeyCity acts as a
Chicago-specific identification card. According to the sanctuary city
supportive resources website:
KeyCity is an optional, valid,
government-issued ID card offered to all Chicago residents that will unlock
many of the great things our City has to offer. The CityKey card is a photo
identification card available to all Chicago residents which will not convey
information about national origin or legal status. For many residents who do
not have an identification card, CityKey can serve as an official government
issued identification and can be used to access city services. Additionally,
your CityKey can be used as a library card for Chicago Public Libraries, as
well as a Ventra card. Presenting your CityKey at particular cultural
institutions and local businesses can also give you a discount. CityKey is now
available for free to all Chicago residents.
Chicago
unveiled a program in 2014 that awarded city high school students with
scholarships to attend community college for free. Those scholarships extend to
illegal-alien students, as well, allowing them the opportunity to study at
two-year colleges for free. A USA Todayarticle noted that
while illegal-alien students
were eligible for
the scholarships, other city students, such as those attending charter and
parochial schools, were not.
Chicago
aggressively defends its sanctuary laws protecting criminal aliens. Emmanuel
has continued to fight the Justice Department over federal
funds withheld from Chicago because of their policies. In addition to those policies, Chicago
has a number of added benefits in place to help integrate illegal aliens,
making it a super-sanctuary.
California
Former
California governor Jerry Brown signed SB
54 in October
2017. This bill made California, in Brown's own words, a "sanctuary
state". The
Justice Department filed a lawsuit against the State of California because of
the law. A federal judge dismissed that suit in July. SB 54 took
effect on January 1, 2018. The new law does many things: It forbids all
localities from cooperating with ICE detainer notices, it bars any law
enforcement officer from participating in the popular 287g program, and it prevents state and local police from
inquiring about individuals' immigration status. While passed easily in the
California legislature, some counties have protested its implementation.
Some joined
the Trump administation's lawsuit against the state.
California is
home to more illegal aliens than any other state in the country. Pew reported
last year that about one
in five illegal aliens lives in California. The state goes to great lengths to welcome its
millions of alien residents.
The
California budget allocates millions of dollars annually to the One California
program. One California provides free legal assistance to all aliens, including
those facing deportation. Its website reads:
The "One California"
Immigration Services Funding program was established in 2015-16 budget and is
administered by the California Department of Social Services. Starting in 2016,
the program has funded free immigration services, through qualified nonprofits,
for low-income Californians eligible for citizenship or some affirmative
immigration remedies including the DACA program. The 2017-18 budget increases
the program's baseline funding and expands the state funded services to include
removal defense services, to broaden affirmative relief, and to expands legal training
and technical assistance. The program will have a yearly $45 million investment
through the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
One
California is a significant undertaking at $45 million a year, and free legal
assistance must be an attractive magnet. Additionally, California's public
universities make it easier for illegal-alien students to attend college. The
University of California announced that it earmarked $25.2 million over three
years to "support undocumented students". According to the announcement:
·UC's DREAM Loan Program will receive $5 million per year for at least
three years. The program makes student loans available to undocumented
students, who are not eligible for federal aid. Students will repay their loans
back into the DREAM Loan fund.
·Student services staff coordinators and targeted undergraduate and
graduate fellowships, as well as other financial support such as funds for
textbooks, will be allocated $2.5 million per year.
·UC's Undocumented Legal Services Center will receive $900,000 per year.
Under California's DREAM Act, these students qualify for state
scholarships, grants, and other benefits. They also receive in-state
tuitionto state
universities, a benefit that only a handful of other states offer.
California
does not offer free medical care to its illegal residents, but legislators
continue to introduce
bills that
would make that a reality.
While illegal
aliens cannot vote in statewide elections, San Francisco allows all non-citizens
to vote in
school board elections. It is the only municipality in California to allow this
so far, but that may change soon as other towns and counties look to follow the
San Francisco model.
California's
sanctuary crusade did not end with the departure of Jerry Brown. His
successor, Gavin
Newsom, seems as
excited as Brown in extending services to illegal residents courtesy of the
California taxpayers, including a proposal to extend
state-funded health care to more illegal aliens. As the state's stance on
immigration drifts further from the middle, look for California to be the
leader in future super-sanctuary legislation.
Conclusion
There are many sanctuary
jurisdictions across the country that limit ICE's access to jails and
courthouses. But these communities have gone above and beyond to establish
themselves as the highest tier of sanctuaries. Taxpayer-funded legal advice,
education, and medical care are all hallmarks of these new policies. These
communities are home to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens. Their
politicians see these actions as part of a winning political strategy. As the
fight for border security and immigration reform continues, super-sanctuaries
may emerge as a new and growing player in the greater debate. While this short
list is not exhaustive, these communities continue to lead the state and
local-level fight against federal immigration enforcement. The new and creative
ways they have accommodated their illegal residents indicate their willingness
to continue the political battle over the illegal population.
Pelosi on enforcing immigration law: ‘What’s the point?’
Nancy Pelosi has gone off the deep end and questioned the legitimacy of enforcing laws that she disagrees with. Anarchy beckons when the top lawmaker in the House of Representatives, third in line for the presidency, takes the position that there is no point in enforcing legal verdicts that are the product of due process. Ryan Saavedra of the Daily Wire has the story:
Speaking at an event in Elmhurst, New York, Pelosi attacked President Donald Trump over the raids from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers that were scheduled to happen over the weekend but were delayed after sensitive information was leaked to the public about the locations of the raids.
"When I saw that the president was going to have these raids, I mean it was so appalling," Pelosi said. "It's outside the circle of civilized human behavior to just be kicking down doors, splitting up families, and the rest of that, in addition to the injustices that are happening at the border. We have legislation to go forward to address those needs, but in terms of interior enforcement, what's the – what's the point?"
If we are going to make obeying the law optional, then I see no point in paying my federal income taxes. But of course, I am not a member of a preferred minority, so I am out of luck when it comes to support from Pelosi or any Democrats.
President Trump has not yet tweeted about this outrageous, seditious (look it up!) from the highest ranking Democrat. I hope he does so, challenging Chuck Schumer and the Dems’ presidential field as to whether or not they agree that laws are optional.

Illegal Immigration Is A Cancer And ICE Is The Chemotherapy
Last Monday, Trump announced, via Twitter, of course, a bold, direct, and, most importantly, necessary move in the war on illegal immigration. ‘The Donald’ informed the country that ICE would be deployed to various American sanctuary cities in order to detain and deport “millions” of illegal aliens. Predictably, this set off a firestorm of hysterics from the left, illegal alien rights groups, and, alas, the media. Yet Trump’s proclamation was right, necessary, and long overdue.
Illegal immigration is a detriment to our national sovereignty, national economy, and, by extension, our national security. Current estimates put the total number of illegal aliens in our country at over 12 million. Exact numbers are difficult to come by for reasons such as citizenship questions on the national census (let’s see if the Supreme Court recognizes that this term).
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) conducted a comprehensive study regarding the financial impact of illegal immigration. Services provided to these some 12 million illegals and their families are just over $135,000,000,000, don’t count the zeroes, that’s BILLIONS. Remember during the 2014 Ebola outbreak when NIH and CDC didn’t have enough money to properly address the problem? Where could the government have found that money? When funding for the Veterans’ Administration was in question, what other purse could have been raided? Of course, federal funding and appropriation laws don’t exactly work that way, but the underlying principle should resonate with anyone who owns a calculator.
Remember the recent government shutdown? $5.7 billion was too much for a wall, but somehow $135 billion in services to illegal aliens is just the cost of government doing business. These are the same arguments, from the same people, who want to mandate what taxes, living wages, and Congressional pay raises should be. Not a comforting realization.
America, with or without illegal aliens, has crime, as does any nation. But is that any justification to import more? From Kate Steinle’s 2015 murder by an illegal to Mollie Tibbett’s 2018 brutal killing, along with the federal government’s report of 2,028 murders by illegals arrested in 2018, an important question arises: Why, through inaction, allow such crimes to persist?
Simply because America already has crime is no justification. If your son or daughter was in the emergency room for a stab wound would you tell the doctor, “Don’t bother stitching him up. He already has pneumonia?" Of course not. If we can’t get rid of our own crime problem, we certainly should not invite more that we can get rid of.
We have serious problems that we must deal with, and deal with effectively.
Sanctuary cities that flout our laws only serve to aggravate an already overwhelming set of problems. Los Angeles and San Francisco, both sanctuary cities, are both crumbling under crises of homelessness and crime. A new app in San Francisco allows people to track human feces in the street. Back in L.A., even Cher, a liberal stalwart, recently felt compelled to tweet about the homeless problem in the City of Angels and the insanity of inviting more.
Sanctuary cities not only serve to exacerbate the tribulations we see every day, they invite them. They are beacons to every illegal border crosser, “Come here, we don’t care about the law or big picture!”
Of course, the Left has attempted to frame the issue of illegal immigration into the only argument they ever make: one of race. Not surprising for a party whose primary tenet is identity politics. If the Left can only see race or gender or sexual orientation, then they can only believe others’ opinions are based on the same. Therein lies their argument. “You don’t want unfettered illegal immigration because of race, not for the actual reasons. Therefore, your opinions are invalid because I believe your basis is in racism.” A complete lie that the media and 2020 candidates tout more often than Joe Biden makes a gaffe.
They conveniently ignore the logical fallacy of their primary economic beliefs, that a welfare state can support everyone that wants in. Free college, free health care, guaranteed free income, free to everyone who wants, yet, free of any rational way to support such a utopia. Free thinkers indeed.
Now the Left has turned its ire on ICE. These federal law enforcement officers are evil, equated to Nazis they shout in almost every sentence. Democratic members of Congress screaming “Concentration camps!” (PLEASE read a history book on the Holocaust!). They may as well work for the Department of Redundancy.
ICE is not evil. ICE is not the problem. Illegal immigration is the problem. Sanctuary cities are a symptom of that problem. ICE is simply doing what is necessary.
As of today, Trump has placed a two-week hold on his plan to detain and deport, hoping Democrats in Congress can do their job and fix the problem. Failing that, people should remember, Illegal immigration is the cancer, sanctuary cities are the tumors, and ICE is the chemotherapy.

Something journalists, activists and other Democrats never suggest to illegal aliens: abide by the laws Congress passed!
Not once in the article below did the stenographer suggest that illegal aliens abide by the laws Congress writes. It never seems to enter journalists' minds. Journalists, activists, and other Democrats tell illegal aliens how to break the law and ignore the law but not that they should follow the law.
Yet every day we hear lectures from the complicit media in collusion with other Democrats about how no one should be above the law in the United States. Do sanctuary city and state politicians recognize that the public can tell they are encouraging lawbreaking?

From Los Angeles to Atlanta, advocates and attorneys have brought "know-your-rights" workshops to schools, churches, storefronts and consulates, tailoring their efforts on what to do if Immigration and Customs Enforcement shows up at home or on the road. They've role-played interactions, handed out pocket guides, provided hotlines, hosted webinars and offered scripts. The result, advocates argue, is more savvy immigrants who are increasingly refusing to open their doors or provide information, something they hope will blunt any impact of any operation.
"It's more about making sure that people feel like they have some power over what is happening in their lives," said Katarina Ramos, a National Immigrant Justice Center staff attorney. "And that they have some control over what is inherently a very scary situation."
Whether it's the American Civil Liberties Union or a neighborhood nonprofit, the trainings focus on the same ideas: the right to remain silent; refusing officers entry into a home; not signing anything without legal representation; and asking for paperwork from agents. They are rights attorneys say apply to everyone regardless of citizenship status.
There is another story out by the AP about supposed Trump sexual abuse over twenty years ago.
This story has a lot in common with a significant amount of garbage that supposed journalists pollute the public with on a daily basis. There is zero evidence that the incident occurred, only an allegation. So why does the story hit the papers? The answer is to make the public believe that it happened. As long as it fits the Democrat agenda of destroying Trump, the story is printed.
The Russian collusion story goes on even though there was never any evidence that it happened.
The false story about what Trump said in Charlottesville is still out there.
There was never any evidence that the Jussie Smollett story was true.
The media set out to destroy white Christian boys even though it was clear that the story that they were racists was false from the start.
One of the most despicable examples of false stories when the media helped gin up racial hate, violence, and hate of cops was the false "hands up, don't shoot" narrative.
The examples of the media pushing the Democrat agenda with talking points or anonymous sources instead of facts run on and on.
Isn't it time that the media cared about facts and the law? Is there any wonder why most of the public doesn't trust them?

California's Gov. Gavin Newsom puts out a video for illegals on how to obstruct ICE
I thought it was satire, something cooked up by his political enemies.
You couldn't put out a less attractive video than the one Gavin Newsom did for illegal aliens on Twitter, advising them himself on how to obstruct ICE from any deportation maneuvers. And sure enough, he wasn't hacked — it really was blue-checked he.
Leave aside the fact that he's the governor of a U.S. state, supposedly there to represent the interests of that state's citizens rather than those of the foreigners who come here without papers, quite illegally, and run up the tab using his state's services. They're his constituents, too, now, in fact, the ones whose interests he chooses to represent over those of the voters (oh, wait...). He's acting as Their Lawyer now, advising them how to thwart ICE like some National Lawyers Guild activist in how to obstruct the feds legally.
It's also insulting to voters. Newsom cited Proposition 187 in the 1990s as something "we've been through before," as if to say voters never approved this measure to keep illegals from using "free" U.S. services until it was overturned by the courts. And more creepy still, he cites the "three strikes" law, as if to acknowledge that illegals commit quite a few crimes while they are here sopping up the services. It's also well out of the realm of reality, given that voters polled say they aren't happy with his handing out of free health care to the foreign population here illegally in a bid to incentivize more to come.
But what a strange presentation it was. Play it with the sound down and look at how he tosses and tilts his head back and forth, kind of manically, his chemically whitened teeth flashing forced and fake smiles, and his eyes widening and eyebrows rising, up and down, up and down... It's kind of like Peter Strzok's forced performance in the spygate hearings over in Congress. He looks creepy.
If you were an illegal on the lam from the feds and expecting a knock at the door, would you really believe a guy like this? Paternally protective, he is not.
That says something about this whole weird gambit: that it's not about protecting illegals, not in the slightest, any more than it's about protecting the interests of taxpaying Californians. It's not even in Spanish, which even a non-Spanish-speaker can manage with the words written down on a teleprompter. Nope, it's in English, and most illegals won't understand it.
It's about countering and thwarting President Trump. That's Newsom's agenda. He's out telling illegals how to obstruct ICE agents who are trying to enforce the law of the land in the interest of making himself the state's only law. It's disgusting. And he doesn't look good doing it. I suspect that this will turn up in some opposition research campaign ad from a competitor. It's that bad.

Eric Swalwell Encourages Hispanics to Take Fight Against Trump to the ‘Streets’

Hispanic voters should take their fight against President Trump to the “streets,” Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) suggested in a tweet Saturday.
The Democrat presidential candidate spouted a series of falsehoods in a tweet posted Saturday, accusing Trump of breaking up Hispanic families and caging children just for kicks. He also accused Trump of seeking to “erase” the Hispanic population’s existence by way of a basic census citizenship question.
“If you’re Hispanic, there’s nothing @realDonaldTrump won’t do to break up your family, cage your children, or erase your existence with a weaponized census,” Swalwell tweeted.
“And there’s nothing we won’t do in the streets, courts, and at the ballot box to stop him. #FamiliesBelongTogether,” he added.

Of course, all of his accusations are patently false. Trump is not a racist, despite the mainstream media’s large scale attempt to characterize him as such. Swalwell also fails to recognize the difference between illegal and legal Hispanic migrants.
While the left’s focus has been on the “breaking up of families,” illegal migrants often do that on their own accord.
An additional 2,104 migrant children and youths have been reunited with their migrant parents, according to the data recently provided to a judge by the Department of Health and Human Services. But many of their parents may choose to leave some of the 1,2014 children and youths in the United States when judges eject the parents’ asylum pleas.
“There’s a lot of people from Central America who are willing to leave their kids here, rather than take them back,” said Mark Krikorian, the director of the Center for Immigration Studies.
It should also be noted that the alarming photos of children in warehouses were taken during the Obama administration.
Breitbart Texas obtained internal federal government photos depicting the conditions of foreign children warehoused by authorities on U.S. soil on Wednesday night. Thousands of illegal immigrants have overrun U.S. border security and their processing centers in Texas along the U.S./Mexico border. Unaccompanied minors, including young girls under the age of 12, are making the dangerous journey from Central America and Mexico, through cartel-controlled territories, and across the porous border onto U.S. soil.
Notable, though, is Swalwell’s purported call for violence.
“And there’s nothing we won’t do in the streets, courts, and at the ballot box to stop him,” he wrote.
