DEMOCRAT PARTY CONTROLLED CITIES IN MELTDOWN - BALTIMORE INFESTED WITH RATS, POVERTY, HOPELESSNESS AND ILLEGALS FOR CHEAP LABOR

Carson: Trump’s Baltimore Tweet About Spending Some Time Working More for People ‘Who Are Suffering’

2:40

Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” HUD Secretary Ben Carson explained the motivations behind President Donald Trump’s tweets criticizing Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) for the conditions of the city of Baltimore that have existed under Cummings’ tenure.
Carson, who practiced neurosurgery in Baltimore, said he was familiar with the problems of the city. He also said he did not think Cummings and Trump were bad people but that he thought Trump was questioning Cummings’ priorities.
“Well, first of all, you know, as a pediatric neurosurgeon, I spent many hours, sometimes operating all night long trying to give children of Baltimore and other places around the world a second chance at life,” Carson said. “And usually, we were successful. But a few days later, I was in a horrible dilemma, because some of those kids had to go back into homes in East Baltimore that were infested with rats and roaches and ticks and mold and lead and violence. And I didn’t want to send them back. Sometimes I would even consider, you know, extra tests so they could stay in the hospital an extra day or two. But now, fortunately, God’s given me an opportunity to do something about it. And that’s one of the reasons I’m delighted to be in this administration. You know, while I was there, I worked on a lot of issues with many politicians, including Elijah Cummings, particularly in terms of childhood education and improving the life for the people.”
“I don’t think Elijah Cummings is a bad person,” he continued. “I think he actually is working hard to try to help people. And I certainly don’t think President Trump is a bad person. He’s working very hard – in fact, I asked him today, would you be willing to work with Elijah Cummings to bring some relief to the people of Baltimore? He said he would be happy to. But in the meantime, he’s going to continue with the programs, you know, like the opportunity zones, which get people to take money and invest it into the areas that are distressed. There are 149 of them in Maryland. And, you know, Governor Hogan is doing a good job of helping to capitalize upon that. But, also, you know, unemployment is at a very low level. Manufacturing is coming back. Wages are going up, you know, prison reform. All of these things are happening. These are not things that a person who is a racist would do. And we allow ourselves to be distracted by these things.”
“And I think what President Trump was trying to say is that rather than spending your time talking about, you know, our brave border agents and investigating endlessly things that you can’t find anything on, why not spend some time working more for these people, you know, who are suffering?” Carson added. “And that he is willing to work with them. I think that’s what we should be asking for.”

Mo Brooks: Trump Baltimore Tweets ‘Emphasize How Badly’ Areas Governed by Democrats Are Doing

3:15
Even though Democrats and the media are trying to make President Donald Trump’s tweets criticizing Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and the problems plaguing the district he represents about race, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) sees Trump’s tweet as serving an “important” purpose.
During an appearance on Huntsville, AL radio’s WVNN on Monday, Brooks suggested it was vital to point out the failings of Democratic Party governance so that it doesn’t take hold in the rest of the country, which he said Trump’s tweets do in part.
“I think it is important for us to emphasize, and I don’t know why the Democrats have gotten a free pass for so long, but it is important for us to emphasize how badly different parts of the United States are doing,” Brooks said. “And coincidentally, they happen to be areas that are governed by Democrats and have been governed by Democrats for ages – many, many decades, some as long as 50 to 60 years. And that is a microcosm of what happens when you raise taxes so high that you can’t afford to live there. When you can’t afford to live there, you also lose jobs – you lose industry, you lose manufacturing, which means more and more people aren’t working for a living. Rather, they’re voting for a living. They’re living off welfare. They’re in a much lower income status when they should be in these big cities in high-income status.”
“And basically, over time you’re seeing the major deterioration of a lot of major American cities like Detroit, like Baltimore, like inner-city New York, like Washington, D.C., although that has a little artificial bump from the federal government stimulus with all of the spending we have there,” he continued. “But you can go down from the East Coast to the West Coast, and you can see what a failure the Democratic government philosophy is. And we don’t want that same thing to happen to the United States of America. So, I don’t mind at all President Trump, although he does it in a way I prefer he not do it – I would prefer he do it in a much more diplomatic way. But by golly, he is getting the message out slowly but surely that the whole United States is going to go this direction if we let these people and their belief system govern the United States like they’ve governed Baltimore and many other inner cities.”
As for the claims of “racism,” Brooks said that was to be expected given that was part of the Democratic Party playbook as a political strategy.
“That’s what the Democrats say to anything,” Brooks said. “If you say anything that is a disagreement with a person who is not caucasian, the knee-jerk reaction of the Democrats is to yell ‘racism.’ Now, unfortunately, that has been a political strategy that has been met with some success because it helps the Democrats garner a block vote with minorities. And that block vote, in turn, helps them win elections. It is easy for a voter to see skin pigmentation, to see ethnicity and to say, ‘Gosh, I’m different than somebody else.’”
“And then to hear these people who purportedly have a good reputation, although in fact they don’t – but purportedly they do – saying, ‘Over there that that group is racist. Don’t vote for them,’” he added. “That’s a simple emotional type of motivation on how to vote as opposed to doing the hard thing – just looking at public policy issues and trying to figure out which philosophy of government works best for the people of the United States of America. It makes our challenge a little more daunting, but you can expect Democrats between now and 2020’s election, now and 2022’s elections to holler ‘racism’ every single chance they can regardless if there is merit to that charge because that is what they’re taught in their Democratic Party candidate school.”

Exclusive–Michael Savage Backs Trump on San Francisco: ‘Junkies Shoot Up in Front of Children’

Talk radio legend and New York Times bestselling author Michael Savage is once again sounding the alarm on the deterioration of San Francisco, California, in the wake of President Donald Trump criticizing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) over the conditions in her “failing” district.

On Sunday, President Trump shifted his fierce critiques from Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) over Baltimore to Pelosi, warning San Francisco will soon decline beyond repair unless immediate action is taken. “Speaking of failing badly, has anyone seen what is happening to Nancy Pelosi’s district in San Francisco.” the president wrote on Twitter Sunday. “It is not even recognizable lately. Something must be done before it is too late.”
In a statement to Breitbart News, Savage, a longtime resident of the Bay area, joined President Trump in eviscerating California’s Democrat leadership by highlighting San Francisco’s worsening crime and crumbling infrastructure:
Where has all the Federal and State highway funding gone? The streets are worse than some African nations! Even the roadway going on to the iconic Golden gate bridge is a disgrace! The streets are littered, bums rule the sidewalks. Junkies shoot up in front of children. People are afraid to go out at night. Assaults by bums are swept under the radar by the non-newspaper. Over 30,000 cars are broken into each year! Police do nothing because the psycho-lib ‘judges’  dismiss those few cases that are prosecuted. Need I mention the well-known epidemic of human feces on the sidewalks? Have you ever eaten dinner and seen a filthy human being drop his pants and crap outside the restaurant as you are attempting to eat? Where are Pelosi, Feinstein and the other oh-so compassionate rulers?
The conservative media star’s condemnation of Pelosi comes as Democrats are expressing outrage over President Trump spotlighting the worsening state of long-run Democrat cities. On Saturday, the president blasted Cummings for shouting at Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan during a recent congressional hearing and said Baltimore, the Maryland Democrat’s district, has “far worse” conditions than immigration detention centers at the U.S.-Mexico border.
“Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA,” he tweeted. “As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.”
Without skipping a beat, Democrats raced to denounce the president’s comments, calling them racist and bigoted.
Rep Cummings is a champion in the Congress and the country for civil rights and economic justice, a beloved leader in Baltimore, and deeply valued colleague,” Pelosi replied in a tweet. “We all reject racist attacks against him and support his steadfast leadership.”
President Trump shot back at the criticism, saying his comments directed at Cummings were in no way racist.
“[T]here is nothing wrong with bringing out the very obvious fact that Congressman Elijah Cummings has done a very poor job for his district and the City of Baltimore.” he tweeted. “Just take a look, the facts speak far louder than words!”
The president then said Democrats were playing the race card in an attempt to discredit his argument.
“The Democrats always play the Race Card, when in fact they have done so little for our Nation’s great African American people,” he stated. “The Dems should stop wasting time on the Witch Hunt Hoax and start focusing on our Country!”
Through 2015-2018, Baltimore homicides topped 300 each year and are on track to pass such figure in 2019, making it the fifth consecutive year to occur. As President Trump pointed out, the city does indeed suffer from a rodent problem, which was detailed in the documentary film Rat Film, which aired on PBS in 2018. The Baltimore Sun even published an opinion-editorial in November 2016 — Trump’s right: Declare Baltimore a ‘disaster’ and rebuild it — in which Sean Kennedy, a visiting fellow at the Maryland Public Policy Institutecalled for the city to be official label a “disaster” and undergo extensive rebuilding effort.

Forty-eight people were shot, nine fatally, over the weekend in Democrat-controlled Chicago.

CBS Chicago reports that the shooting victims included people walking, standing outside gas stations, and standing on sidewalks.
In one of the incidents a 15-year-old, 14-year-old, and a 10-year-old were shot when a Toyota drove by the sidewalk on which they were standing and opened fire. The wounds proven superficial and the three boys “were in good condition at Stroger Hospital.”
The most recent fatality of the weekend occurred just before 5 a.m. Police found  a 24-year-old man “dead in the North Lawndale neighborhood.” He had “multiple gunshot wounds, including to his face and head.”
The four dozen victims shot July 26-28 are only the latest in a string of victims in Democrat-controlled Chicago. Breitbart News reported at least 43 where shot, two fatally, over the weekend of July 19-21, at least 41 people were shot, nine fatally, over the weekend of July 12-14, and at least 66 were shot, five fatally, over the Fourth of July weekend. Fifty-six were shot, four fatally, the weekend prior to the Fourth.

PBS Aired ‘Rat Film’ Documentary About Baltimore’s Rodent Problem in 2018

More than a year before Donald Trump criticized Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) in a tweet on Saturday for ignoring his Baltimore district’s “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess,” PBS aired a documentary titled Rat Film about the city’s rodent problem.

The Baltimore Sun reported on February 26, 2018, that the documentary “about Baltimore’s rodent fight” was scheduled “to air on PBS” that evening:
Across walls, fences, and alleys rats not only expose our boundaries of separation but make homes in them. “Rat Film” is a feature-length documentary that uses the rat—as well as the humans that love them, live with them, and kill them–to explore the history of Baltimore. “There’s never been a rat problem in Baltimore, it’s always been a people problem.”
“Rat Film,” a documentary that takes the decades-long fight waged against Baltimore’s rat population and uses it as a lens through which to look at how the city has addressed myriad social issues over the decades, airs tonight on PBS.
The hour-long documentary from Baltimore filmmaker Theo Anthony, a crowd favorite at last May’s Maryland Film Festival, airs at 10 p.m. on Maryland Public Television as the latest episode of PBS’s “Independent Lens” series. It repeats at 1 a.m. and 4 a.m.
A longer version of Anthony’s film played festival, as well as at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Parkway in September. In chronicling Baltimore’s decades-long battle against its unwelcome rodent population, Anthony details some disturbing parallels with the ways city leaders have tried to deal with various urban situations.
The Sun reviewed the documentary in an article titled “‘Rat Film’ highlights Baltimore’s rat warfare, urban planning failures,” five months earlier in September 2017, four months after it premiered at the Maryland Film Festival:
It started with a rat trapped inside Theo Anthony’s outdoor trash can.
“Absolutely, what you see is really how it came about,” the Baltimore-based filmmaker says of his first documentary feature, “Rat Film,” which opens Friday in Baltimore, New York and Chicago. “I had come home one night, and I heard this sound in my trash can. So I whipped out my cellphone and just started filming.”
That brief footage, of the trapped rat desperately trying to jump a few inches higher than conventional wisdom says a rat should be able to jump, kicks off an 80-minute rumination on Baltimore’s decades-long battle against its unwelcome rodent population, and some disturbing parallels Anthony discovered with the ways city leaders have tried to deal with various urban situations.
“With rats and urban planning and all the other things the film goes into, there was an incredible wealth of material out there, such as Dawn Day Biehler’s Pests in the City and Antero Pietila’s Not in My Neighborhood, and so it was really a matter of following a path that had been charted by the generous scholarship, histories, and experience of others that came before me. The film is a documentation of me trying to make sense of that path,” filmmaker Theo Anthony told PBS in 2018.
Asked by PBS if there was “anything you learned while researching and making Rat Film that really surprised you?” Anthony responded, “I wouldn’t call it surprising necessarily, but the ways in which all of these seemingly different moments in history—pest control, eugenics, urban planning—seemed to dovetail in the same institutions and ideologies was certainly unexpected.”

While the wealth of the rich is growing at a breakneck pace, there is a stratification of growth within the super wealthy, skewed towards the very top.

Former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh once expressed shock and disgust while touring run-down areas of the city. Now a resurfaced clip from 2018 shows the former mayor exclaiming “Whoa, you can smell the rats” and “Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals.”

The video segment aired on Fox 45 last year and featured the former mayor touring a neighborhood in East Baltimore. She seemed surprised by the conditions of the area.
“What the hell? We should just take all this shit down,” she said as she viewed the run-down buildings.
“Whoa, you can smell the rats,” she continued, adding “Whew, Jesus” and “Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals.”

The backlash was swift. According to the Baltimore Sun, many viewers were shocked that Pugh seemed surprised by the conditions of certain areas of the city.
The Sun observed:
Commenters were divided in their response to the mayor’s words, some praising her candor, others asking what she planned to do about the city’s problems.
Others wanted to know why Pugh seemed so surprised to find such blight in the city she leads.
Said one: “There’s no way she didn’t know some parts of Baltimore looked like that.”
Pugh told the newspaper the poor conditions of the neighborhoods were contributing to the city’s decay.
“I walk the neighborhoods of our city regularly with my agency and department leaders, along with our police district commanders, to deal firsthand with the issues that undermine quality of life and rob our children of the future they deserve,” the former mayor, who resigned in May amid an ongoing federal corruption probe, told the outlet through a spokesperson.
Pugh’s resurfaced clip comes in the wake of President Trump’s remarks on Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and the condition of his Baltimore district. Trump blasted Cummings for “shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border” while the Maryland lawmaker’s Baltimore district is “far and more dangerous” and a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess.”

Prominent Democrats across the board decried Trump’s remarks. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) described it as a “racist” attack, Beto O’Rourke (D) called Trump the “most openly racist president we’ve had in modern history,” and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called the tweets “ugly and racist.”

In his words and in his actions, Trump has been the most openly racist president we’ve had in modern history. He is trying to change the very character of America. But we won't let him. We are so much better than this intolerance and hatred—and together, we're going to prove it. https://twitter.com/joshscampbell/status/1155121131059179520

However, Baltimore’s problems have been well-documented and recognized by prominent politicians even prior to Trump. In 2016, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) spoke about Baltimore’s “poorest boroughs” and said that residents have “lifespans shorter than people living under dictatorship in North Korea.”

Residents of Baltimore’s poorest boroughs have lifespans shorter than people living under dictatorship in North Korea. That is a disgrace.

Horribly, someone born in Baltimore's poorest neighborhood can expect to live 20 years less than a person born in the wealthiest area.

Trump tweeted about Sanders’ remarks Monday morning in hopes of demonstrating the left’s selective outrage.
“Crazy Bernie Sanders recently equated the City of Baltimore to a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY! Based on that statement, I assume that Bernie must now be labeled a Racist, just as a Republican would if he used that term and standard!” Trump tweeted in part:

....even to new heights of success and glory, but not with King Elijah and that crew. When the leaders of Baltimore want to see the City rise again, I am in a very beautiful oval shaped office waiting for your call!

Orkin declared Baltimore the number one bed bug infested city in the country in January.

It was the second year in a row that Baltimore topped the list of the Top 50 “Bed Bug Cities” in the United States.
“The number of bed bug infestations in the United States is still rising. They continue to invade our homes and businesses on a regular basis because they are not seasonal pests, and only need blood to survive,” Dr. Tim Husen, an entomologist who works for Orkin, one of the nation’s leading pest control companies, said in a statement released by the company that accompanied the announcement that Baltimore was once again the bed bug capital of the United States.
“The list is based on treatment data from the metro areas where Orkin performed the most bed bug treatments from December 1, 2016 – November 30, 2017,” the Orkin statement said.
The Top Ten cities for bed bug infestation for this one year period were:
  1. Baltimore
  2. Washington, D.C.
  3. Chicago
  4. Los Angeles
  5. Columbus, Ohio
  6. Cincinnati
  7. Detroit
  8. New York City
  9. San Francisco-San Jose-Oakland
  10. Dallas-Fort Worth
Baltimore was also in Orkin’s list of Top Ten “Rattiest Cities” announced in 2018, along with Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, and New York City.
All six of these pest “double-threat” Top Ten cities are currently run by Democrats, as Breitbart News reported earlier.
Two cities on Orkin’s Top Ten list of “Bed Bug Cities” ranked just below the Top Ten “Rattiest Cities.”
Columbus, Ohio, fifth on the “Bed Bug Cities” list, was the 25th “Rattiest City.”
Cincinnati, sixth on the “Bed Bug Cities” list, was the 20th “Rattiest City.”
One metropolitan area–Dallas-Fort Worth–was ranked tenth on the “Bed Bug Cities” list and 12th on the “Rattiest Cities” list.
The San Francisco-San Jose-Oakland metropolitan area was ninth on the “Bed Bug Cities” list, while the city of San Francisco, part of that metropolitan area, was the 5th “Rattiest City.”
“Bed bugs cannot be completely prevented so early detection is critical,” Orkin advised in its statement.
Bed bugs are always in motion. They travel from place to place with ease, including luggage, clothing and other belongings. In addition to single family homes, bed bugs can be found in apartments, hotels, hospitals and public places like daycare centers, public transit, schools and offices.
According to a 2015 “Bugs without Borders Survey” by the National Pest Management Association, the top three places where pest professionals report finding bed bugs are apartments/condominiums (95 percent), single-family homes (93 percent) and hotels/motels (75 percent).
Orkin noted that “Bed bugs are capable of rapid population growth with an adult female laying two to five eggs per day (up to 500 in her lifetime), often making treatment challenging.”
