Hanson is not only a brilliant historian of ancient Greece and a political commentator with few if any peers, but also a fifth-generation farmer.

Immigration to ‘Decrease Incomes of Americans’
Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) says the “Masters of
the Universe” want more legal immigration to the United States to further
diminish the incomes of American working and middle-class families.
In an exclusive interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Tonight, Brooks said
recent demands to increase the number of foreign workers coming to the U.S. to
compete against American citizens for jobs is merely an effort by corporations
to deplete the earnings of Americans.
Brooks said:
I’m not a part of the Masters of the Universe crowd who thinks we
ought to be bringing in all this foreign labor and the reason for it is pure economics. This is the chance for Americans and lawful immigrants who are already here who are working
in the blue-collar trades, who are working in the places where
wages are not as high they ought to be, this is their chance to prosper. [Emphasis added]
And to the extent you import a lot of foreign labor, then you are
artificially increasing the labor supply which in turn means that you’re
artificially suppressing the wages of American families who are often hard-pressed to make ends meet So I
respectfully disagree that we need more foreign labor, to the contrary, I would like to see us reduce the foreign labor that comes into
America so that American families who are struggling to make ends meet, particularly those of us who are earning the least
amounts, would be better to take care of
their own families and less likely to be dependent on the welfare. [Emphasis added]
Brooks said Democrats support for mass legal immigration is
centered on the premise that increasing the number of foreign workers in the
U.S. will decrease Americans’ wages, thus forcing many into poverty and
becoming welfare recipients. This, Brooks said, is how Democrats create a
permanent dependent class of Democrat voters.
“Don’t get me wrong, [Democrats] want to decrease the incomes of
Americans so that they’re dependent on welfare,” Brooks said.
That makes them in turn likely Democrat voters and the best way to
do that is to have a huge surge in the labor supply, particularly illegal
aliens, that will depress their wages therefore creating more Democrats who are dependent on welfare at the same time as they
bring in illegal aliens who also under Democrat doctrine will be allowed to
vote and those types of voters, they’re also dependent on welfare. [Emphasis
added]
“About 70 percent of illegal alien households are on welfare …
plus this is a bloc of voters that seems unusually susceptible to the racial divisions
that the Democrats advance,” Brooks said. “You have to look at the big picture
in all of this, and to me, we should not be importing as much foreign labor as
we are. We should be helping the least among us earn more and importing foreign
labor that suppresses wages is not the way to do that.”
Currently, the U.S. admits more than 1.2 legal immigrants
annually, with the vast majority deriving from chain migration, whereby newly
naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the
country. In 2017, the foreign-born population reached a record high of 44.5 million.
The U.S. is on track to import about 15 million new foreign-born voters in the next
two decades should current legal immigration levels continue. Those 15
million new foreign-born voters include about eight million who will arrive in
the country through chain migration, where newly naturalized citizens can bring
an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the country.

and we should be out looking for immigrants,” Bloomberg told the San Diego Union-Tribune on
January 5.:
For those who need an oboe player for a symphony, we want the
best one. We need a striker for a soccer team, we want to get the best one. We
want a farmworker, we want to get the best one. A computer programmer, we want
to get the best one. So we should be out looking for more immigrants.
The reporter did not ask Bloomberg to define “best.” But for
cost-conscious shareholders and executives, “best” is a synonym for ‘cheaper
than Americans.’
“If business were able to hire without restrictions from
anywhere in the world, pretty much every [American’s] occupation would be
foreignized,” said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration
Studies. He continued:
Americans would have to accept dramatically lower earnings,
whether they object or not. Not just landscapers and tomato pickers, [because]
Indians and Chinese by the millions can do nursing and accounting. There would
not be any job that would not see its earnings fall to the global average.
Bloomberg — who has an estimated wealth of $55 billion — is
trying to exempt investors and shareholders from the nation’s immigration
rules, said Krikorian. For Bloomberg, “immigration laws are not one of those
things that should be allowed to interfere in [the growth of] shareholders’
value,” he said.
“It is obviously unprecedented — but this is not obviously
different from [President] George [W.] Bush’s ideal immigration plan … [and] he
is expressing a pretty standard Republican plutocrat approach to
immigration,” he added.
President Bush described his “any
willing worker” cheap labor plan in 2004, saying:
Out of common sense and fairness, our laws should allow willing
workers to enter our country and fill jobs that Americans have are not filling.
(Applause.) We must make our immigration laws more rational, and more humane.
And I believe we can do so without jeopardizing the livelihoods of American
citizens.
Our reforms should be guided by a few basic principles. First,
America must control its borders …
Second, new immigration laws should serve the economic needs of
our country. If an American employer is offering a job that American citizens
are not willing to take, we ought to welcome into our country a person who will
fill that job.
In December 2018, departing House
Speaker Paul Ryan echoed Bush’s
“any willing worker” goal, saying:
[Immigration reform needs] border security and interior
enforcement for starters, but also a modernization of our visa system so that
it makes sense for our economy and for our people so that anyone who wants to
play by the rules, work hard and be part of American fabric can contribute.
This “any willing worker” idea
encouraged Ryan to work closely — but behind the scenes — with pro-amnesty, pro-migration
groups.
Many GOP legislators echo this “any willing worker” claim when
they declare a “‘legal good, illegal bad,’ approach to migration,” said
Krikorian. That mantra is “piously claiming that illegal immigration is bad,
but is making [pro-American protections] moot by letting huge numbers of people
in legally.”
In contrast, President Donald Trump won his 2016 election on a
promise to shrink immigration. Since then, he has forced down illegal migration
via Mexico and has largely blocked numerous efforts by business to expand the
huge inflow of legal immigrants and visa workers. Trump’s curbs on the supply
of foreign labor have helped to force up wages for blue-collar Americans —
despite determined efforts by business and investment groups to prevent wage
increases.
Almost 50% of U.S. employees got higher wages in 2019, up from almost 40%
in 2018.

Bloomberg’s “best worker” pitch is not a problem for the
Democrats’ 2020 base of “woke” progressives, said Krikorian:
He is running in the Democratic primary and there is an overlap
between the plutocrat assault on national borders and the leftist assault on
national borders. They come at the issue from the different starting points but
they have the same enemy, which is Americans’ sovereignty. It is not obvious
that his [pro-employer] immigration stance is going to be a turn-off to
Democratic primary votes.. How different are the specifics of his immigration
proposal from [Joe] Biden, Sen. [Bernie] Sanders or [Sen. Elizabeth] Warren?
Biden, Sanders, and Warren endorse
wide-open borders as a form of charity towards unlucky foreigners fleeing from
home country persecution. For example, a January 5 tweet from Biden said:
Our Statue of Liberty invites in the tired, the poor, the
huddled masses yearning to breathe free. Donald Trump has slammed the door in
the face of families fleeing persecution and violence.
Bloomberg’s pro-employer view is coherent and likely sincere, said
Krikorian.
Bloomberg aspires to a single global labor market, and
everything else follows from that. A concern about improving the lot of
less-skilled American workers is by definition contrary to that view because
there is no such thing as an American labor market. There is only a global
labor market. Domestic employers are not thinking about the consequences for
people from Pennsylvania when they hire people from Tennessee, and Bloomberg
wants that same approach across the entire world.
There is even an altruistic way of viewing that — which I
assume guys like this have — that it improves the lot of Hondurans [and other
migrants] who are coming here.
The issue is not that Bloomberg and his guys are factually
incorrect. It is that their values are contrary to the values that most
Americans hold – which is that we have a greater loyalty and obligation to our
fellow countrymen than to foreigners. Guys like Bloomberg reject that
[obligation] in principle.

Bloomberg has long supported greater
immigration. In 2013, he joined with the owner of Fox News, Rupert Murdoch, to
create the Project for a New American Economy. The group of investors and
politicians then pushed for
passage of the failed Gang of Eight amnesty in 2013.
The Congressional Budget Office
(CBO) predicted the planned “Gang of Eight” amnesty would shift more of
the nation’s new wealth from workers to investors.
The flood of roughly 30 million
immigrants in ten years would cause Americans’ wages to shrink, the report
said. “Because the bill would increase the rate of growth of the labor force,
average wages would be held down in the first decade after enactment,” the CBO
report said.
But all that cheap labor would boost the profits and the stock
market, the report said. “The rate of return on capital would be higher [than
on labor] under the legislation than under current law throughout the next two
decades,” says the report, titled “The Economic Impact of S. 744.”
For Bloomberg, Krikorian said, U.S.
“employers have no greater obligation to fellow Americans than to Hondurans [or
other foreign workers] … what Bloomberg is saying is that immigration laws
should not interfere with the pursuit of shareholder value [because] employers
can hire anyone from anywhere at any wage, period.”

In the last two years, ICE officers made 266,000 arrests of aliens with criminal records, including those charged or convicted of 100,000 assaults, 30,000 s ex crimes, and 4,000 violent killings. As it stands, illegal immigrants are a massive burden on American taxpayers.

ICE: Sanctuary California Hiding Details on Accused Illegal Alien Child Abusers

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency is accusing the sanctuary state of California of refusing to disclose if they plan to release a number of criminal illegal aliens, including those accused of crimes against children.
This week, ICE officials sent subpoenas to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office (SDCSO) asking for whereabout information and if the sanctuary state plans on releasing a series of illegal aliens.
“Issuance of these immigration subpoenas is necessary because the SDCSO is forced to comply with California’s sanctuary state laws, and therefore cannot cooperate in honoring immigration detainers or requests for non-public information to assist in locating criminal aliens that have been or will be released from custody,” an ICE release stated.
Specifically, ICE officials are seeking information on these four illegal aliens:
A 40-year-old illegally present Mexican national who was arrested in December … for continuing sexual abuse of a child, lewd and lascivious act of a child under fourteen years old, and oral copulation with a person under fourteen years old. An immigration detainer was lodged with the SDSO. He has two DUI convictions, both from 2009. He has been returned to Mexico on eleven occasions between 2009 and 2011. He remains in SDSO custody at the county jail; [Emphasis added]
A 42-year-old illegally present Mexican national who was arrested for first degree robbery … in November 2019. He has a prior conviction for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) from 2013. A federal immigration judge granted him voluntarily departure, but he failed to depart the United States as ordered. After his November 2019 arrest, an immigration detainer was lodged with SDSO but due to California sanctuary state laws the detainer was not honored, and he was released back into the community; [Emphasis added]
A 31-year-old illegally present Mexican national who was arrested … for battery of spouse and false imprisonment in December 2019. He has a prior conviction for deceptive government identification, 2008. U.S. immigration authorities previously returned or removed him from the U. S. three times between 2008 and 2010. ICE lodged an immigration detainer with SDSO following his December arrest but due to California sanctuary state laws the detainer was not honored, and he was released back into the community; [Emphasis added]
A 28-year-old illegally present Mexican national who was arrested for assault with force, great bodily injury, child cruelty and battery of spouse … He was previously arrested in 2017 for battery on spouse by local law enforcement. He was returned to Mexico multiple times in 2004. A final order of removal was issued by a federal immigration judge in January 2018 and he was removed to Mexico. Once again, he illegally reentered the United States. An immigration detainer was lodged with the SDSO and he remains in custody. [Emphasis added]
“The public needs to be aware and concerned that California sanctuary state laws do not protect public safety and is bad public policy,” ICE official Gregory Archambeault said.
“Criminal aliens are being released back into the community daily and most will re-offend resulting in more victims,” Archambeault said. “For ICE, the most concerning part about dealing with uncooperative jurisdictions, or places that are not allowed to work with us, is that we don’t always know who is being arrested, when they’ll be released, or if they are at-large in the community again.”
The ICE subpoenas come as Attorney General William Barr has filed lawsuits against sanctuary jurisdictions New Jersey and King County, Washington, for obstructing federal immigration law and enforcement.
At the same time, President Trump is reportedly sending about 100 “elite tactical agents” to about 10 sanctuary cities to aid ICE agents in arresting and deporting criminal illegal aliens, Breitbart News reported. The administration is hoping to increase arrests of criminal illegal aliens by 35 percent.

In Los Angeles, California, for example, up to 100 criminal illegal aliens are released every day from police custody.

Let me start by saying I have no idea what anyone would find appealing about former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Then again, I’m not a left-wing Democrat desperate to beat Donald Trump, so maybe in that state of panic a dwarfish, socially distant, robotic, aloof, monotone billionaire seems like a good choice – any port in a storm, after all.
And that seems to be the appeal – the billionaire part, I mean.
Short of someone who can cover the cost of a presidential campaign with the change in the couch cushions sounds appealing to voters who’ve been inundated with dozens of emails daily from millionaires begging them for money to finance their vanity projects, what is the appeal of Bloomberg? Being one of the richest people on the planet is a mentally perverting existence. Who tells someone worth more than most country’s GDPs “no”? Anyone?
Is there anyone who tells Mike Bloomberg he’s wrong? More directly, anyone who tells him he’s wrong who he’d listen to, not dismiss out of hand or fire?
I’ve met a couple of billionaires in my life and they, and the poor rich people I’ve met who only have hundreds or tens of millions of dollars all have one thing in common: they’re weird.
When you’re that rich being weird is call eccentric and played off as charming by sycophants and Yes Men. Their lives are overrun with people who follow them around, attempting to anticipate their every desire and fill it while hoping a wad of cash falls out of their pockets or they somehow make it into the will. Being surrounded by people who they make the lifetime earnings of with a 3 point uptick in the stock market means no one is your equal, and no one matters naturally.
To make other matter to people like this they have to actively seek out their input or their company. In the case of the rich, that generally means their services. That’s where President Donald Trump diverges from Michael Bloomberg – their abilities to value others.
The nature of Trump’s businesses required his interaction with people he’d never run into at dinner or on the golf course. He was dependent upon blue collar workers to build and maintain his properties. High school graduates, even dropouts, can run a job site and build a building. An aloof jackass wafting in to bark out orders to the foreman before hopping back in their limo to drive to the club can’t fake being able to relate to anyone, and Trump has an innate ability to relate to people.
I met the President once, before he was President but after he’d announced his candidacy, at a GOP dinner in Maryland. Before he entered the VIP room, advance staffers came in and told everyone in line to meet him that there would be no conversation, just a “grip-n-grin” photo; “Do not try to start a conversation,” they barked.
I didn’t want a picture, I had 2 books of his I wanted signed. I didn’t know if that was going to be possible after hearing the rules. Then Trump entered and the rules were gone.
Donald Trump was talkative, engaging with everyone. Those who’d barked the orders didn’t – no, couldn’t – do anything to stop him. Big smiles, handshakes, and questions flew…from Trump for each person. No one was hurried, no one was hushed, and most importantly I got my books signed.
This wasn’t a room full of rich people; these were average Maryland Republicans attending an annual dinner. Yet every single one of them had their moment where Donald Trump heard them out, at least giving them the impression he was interested in their thoughts, their story, their existence.
Can you imagine Mike Bloomberg doing that? It’s unlikely Bloomberg has ever had a real conversation with a backhoe operator, let alone operated one himself. Trump has, on both counts. That’s what separates the two – relatability. It’s also what Democrats can’t understand about the President.
Neither one of these men should be relatable to normal people, normal people don’t walk into anywhere with the knowledge that they can comfortably buy anything there, even the building. Normal people search for sale items at the grocery store.
But Trump at least comes off as if he gets it. He’s never lived it, but he gets it, likely because he’s seen it up close from his employees. Bloomberg is a media mogul, he doesn’t hire people who need to shower after a day of work, he hires people who shower to go to work.
Mike’s history of misogyny and casual racism aside, the ignorance about the people who do those important jobs on display in that video showed me all I needed to see about whether or not anyone could relate to him, and more importantly, whether he could relate to anyone. He can’t.
Bloomberg likes to taunt Trump about how he’s much wealthier than the President is, but his wallet is all he has going for him. That wallet, coupled with desperation and perhaps the weakest field ever cobbled together by a political party, may be enough to secure him the nomination – he has proven he can buy support, not that he can inspire it – but there’s little chance that, after the public really starts to pay attention, it will inspire many votes. Even though Michael Bloomberg is very short, there aren’t many Americans who want to spend 4 years looking up the nostrils of a President who looks down their nose at them.
