We vow to fight a nonspecific theory called "terrorism" instead of protecting our borders from whom and where it is precisely coming. In response to the terrorism in our cities, we call for even more multiculturalism and appeasement. We have become the pitiful we, pathetic, because of Barack Obama’s repeated sermonette of: “That’s not who we are.” Whenever suggestions were made for the urgent need to monitor some of the mosques or the young men most likely to commit future terrorist acts against us, Obama would declare: “That’s not who we are.”

By being the new “victim” of Western intolerance and oppression, Islam is automatically elevated and ennobled as something enlightened and most tolerant, especially by those abandoning and running from their Christian ancestry and upbringing and seeking an exotic system in which to pour all their utopian and rebellious yearnings.
Many in the political class demonizing Americanism and nationalism are celebrating transnationalism, which is being pushed today by global multiculturalists. Until now, Western countries retained with pride their distinctive culture and norms, while recognizing and enjoying the varied qualities found in nations different than their own. Transnationalism is radically different. It wishes to denude each Western country of its uniqueness and severely marginalize that segment of the population wishing to preserve and live by the historic values and customs of their country. It is banal uniformity on a global scale, often a consequence of embarrassment and repudiation of anything overtly Christian or Old Testament.
Transnationalism takes power away from a country’s people and imposes laws and norms from above by an almost interchangeable global ruling class which treats its country’s patriots as malcontents and second class, as “unenlightened” citizens entitled to fewer freedoms than anti-nationalists or preferred minorities. The ruling class has more sympathy and identity with the ruling class of other countries than with citizens of their own country. It is cosmopolitanism run riot, so that American liberals, for example, feel a kinship more with Parisians than those from Peoria.
Whereas until very recently, highly patriotic leaders were chosen to lead countries, under the mantle of transnationalism leaders are advanced who downplay and characterize as “extreme” the patriotic members within society. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in America, Angela Merkel in Germany, as well as the Scandinavian and Flemish leaders, the EU and the Hague, are representative of those in an expanding political class and club who see their power deriving from a global multiculturalism that marginalizes conservative voters to ineffective fringes.
These leaders reinforce and aid each other by speaking to voters beyond their own country. They speak of the need of voters elsewhere to elect those candidates who will be part of a globalist order and fraternity upon which rests the “guarantee of peace, harmony, prosperity, and environmental purity”.Transnationalism is the age-old universalist and socialist dystopia come true, just under a new nomenclature. Those opposed are labeled xenophobic; those questioning open borders are labeled racist. No one has a right any longer to an opinion except those issuing leftist, transnational creeds. These accusations, the name calling, are some of the most powerful weapons in the globalist arsenal.

Studying what we have learned of the timeline -- and we still don’t have the entire story -- we see Wikileaks, the smallest, at the core, and Obama as the largest piece in what is the most historically outrageous misuse of the people and institutions of government for partisan advantage.
Wikileaks
During the campaign, Wikileaks posted a number of email messages from the DNC -- largely Podesta, but Hillary as well. The communications (not well reported, but, in any event, more embarrassing tittle tattle) had been on unsecured accounts, poorly guarded and easily accessed because of carelessness on the part of the Hillary team. Assange, who published them, denied the source of this information was Russian hackers. This now has been confirmed by the heads of our intelligence community, but the Clinton camp claim that the Russians did it set the stage for the notion that her opponent was the favored candidate of the Russians.
Apart from the fact that our intelligence services have denied the claim, there are a number of reasons to believe that the Russians would have preferred Hillary to Trump. For one thing, Russia is in terrible financial shape and relies on its sales of oil and gas to Europe to stay afloat. Is it sensible to believe that the Russians would prefer Trump, who made clear he wanted to vastly increase U.S. oil and gas production, over Hillary, who gave every indication of keeping it down and the worldwide price of oil and gas higher? (I can’t imagine -- for the same reason -- that Iran and OPEC wouldn’t prefer her as well.) Why you do suppose the Russians have been funding “green” groups in Europe -- and possibly here -- who oppose fracking?
Secondly, for eight years Russian businesses and businessmen closely aligned with Putin pumped millions into the Clinton Foundation slush fund, paid her husband a half-million dollars for a single speech, and got in return a substantial portion of our uranium assets when, as Secretary of State, Hillary okayed their purchase. Finally, John Podesta, chair of Hillary’s presidential campaign wasclosely aligned with Russian interests. His brother was hired by the Russians to lobby for the uranium sale. He was on the board of a company closely aligned with Putin.

John Podesta, national chairman of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, may have opened himself up to a Russian “influence campaign” designed to temper his views of the Kremlin, The Daily Caller News Foundation (TheDCNF) Investigative Group has learned.
Influence campaigns are conducted by many governments -- including the United States -- with the aim of influencing decision makers in other countries to realign their geopolitical worldviews more closely to the influencing country.
Some national security experts interviewed by The DCNF wonder if Podesta may still be a target of Russian influence. They trace the campaign back to his company board membership, in which one-third of the board were top Russian businessmen with direct ties to the Kremlin.
The last time Podesta talked negatively about Russia was Dec. 18, 2016, when he charged in an NBC “Meet the Press” interview the 2016 election was “distorted by the Russian intervention.”
The former Clinton national campaign chairman has since been silent, even as other former top Clinton aides, such as Robby Mook, Brian Fallon and Jim Margolis have repeatedly aimed high-decibel rhetoric at President Donald Trump about Russian “meddling” in the 2016 presidential race.

Podesta’s silence is particularly striking, according to retired Air Force Col. James Waurishuk.
“We haven’t heard very much from Podesta lately, particularly on the subject of Russia’s interference in the elections,” Waurishuk told the DCNF. He served on the National Security Council and worked on “information operations” for military intelligence.
The suggestion is that he’s staying out of it because the Russians want this chatter about their influence silenced.
In any event, Russia has now been cleared of the claim, yet in the recesses of the dimmer voters’ minds the charge remains a cogent explanation of why their candidate lost the election.
The National Security Agency and the FISA
The NSA engages in global monitoring for foreign intelligence and counterintelligence. It does by passive means (signals Intelligence) and active means like physically bugging systems and through subversive software. It assists and coordinates SIGINT elements at other government organization like the DIA.
Domestic communications can be intercepted under two circumstances: in the first instance to protect us against sabotage or international terrorism or sabotage. In such a case, when authorized by the president through the attorney general, it can be done without a court order provided that it is for only one year and only to acquire foreign intelligence information and there is real likelihood that a U.S. person is a party to the communication. Even then it must be done in such a way to minimize the impact on the U.S. person. The attorney general must report such surveillance under seal to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court and report their compliance to both the House and Senate Intelligence Committees.
Surveillance can also be done on a court order from FISA when the attorney general persuades the court that there is probable cause (i.e. a reasonable suspicion) that the target is a “foreign power” or an “agent of a foreign power” and the minimization requirements for information pertaining to U.S. persons will be followed. Such orders may be approved for 90 days,120 days, or a year.
FISA court authorization is almost always granted. Reliable reports indicate that the Obama administration sought authorization in July of last year when Trump appeared a likely opponent (the application is still secret) and it was denied. These reports also state that a pared-down application was sought in October and granted by the court. We have no idea on what basis the Department of Justice sought these warrants nor who the purported target was.
From the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes, we learned this week that Trump team’s conversations were caught in the surveillance, that for over nine months this was never reported to his committee. Moreover, it is public knowledge that three days before the inauguration in January, for no legitimate purpose, President Obama authorized wide distribution of the surveillance reports to 16 other agencies, the names of U.S. persons involved in the conversations were not redacted, the contents were of no intelligence value and they were widely leaked -- a perfectly predictable consequence of spreading the raw data so widely in contrast to normal redaction and dissemination patterns. Suspicious minds like mine think may well be to further hamper the incoming administration by leaks designed to embarrass members of his team. Nunes also reported the post-election spying “had nothing to do with Russia.” By January 20, for example, the New York Times reported that Trump had been wiretapped.
We learned this week from Nunes’ work that the investigation is continuing.
On his own Mike Rogers, head of NSA, met privately with Trump shortly after the inauguration. We have no details of their discussion, but my guess is he told him what had happened and how. At the moment, Rogers appears to be the sole white hat in our intelligence network. But he may not be the only one, which, I think, would mean a number of former Obama officials have to be looking for lawyers.
Tom Lipscomb, a former reporter and online friend, thinks the white hats in the intelligence community fed the truth about the wiretapping directly to Trump so he could weed out from their ranks the Obama confederates. Like him, I think the Trump tweet that he was wiretapped was smart. He’s giving “fair warning to what is coming,” and the claims that Trump was engaged in some “crazy conspiracy” are evaporating just as had the earlier nonsense that he and the Russians were conspiring via Wikileaks.
Christopher Steele and John McCain
Christopher Steele is a former British intelligence agent of dubious character and credibility. He had been hired early by the Clinton camp to dig up dirt on Trump. When Hillary ended that agreement, unnamed Republicans engaged him to continue, and when they stopped paying him, the FBI -- for as yet unexplained reasons -- took him up. His “dossier” is preposterous, based on accounts to his aides from unnamed and thus unverifiable sources. In the rare instance when they provide recognizable details, they have been proven false. As incredible as the “dossier” was, it was used to tar Trump with salacious nonsense and to further encourage the ridiculous notion that he and his team were Russian agents.
There are three different versions of how John McCain, a bitter #NeverTrumper always seeking media cuddles and enamored by globalization, came to get the dossier -- he says, in December. In one version, he got it from a member of the McCain Institute, in other published accounts he dispatched someone abroad to get it, and in a third he first heard of it from a former British ambassador while at a meeting in Halifax. That he’s offered various tales in itself suggests some dissembling on his part. Nevertheless, he concedes he widely distributed the scurrilous dossier to the media and members of Congress. He was either a useful dupe of those determined to bring down Trump or a willing partner of theirs.Right now, he’s flailing about abroad, attacking the president and moaning that Trump hasn’t yet met with him.
The Media
John Nolte, writing for the Daily Caller, highlights how it is apparent that the media knew of the spying operation and later covered it up:
“Of course the media knew what the Obama administration had done. First off, when they thought the news would hurt Trump, the national media publicly reported on the fact that the Obama administration had spied on Team Trump. It was only after that knowledge became a liability for Precious Barry that the media pretended otherwise. In other words, they LIED.”
Jim Geraghty at National Review cites a specific example of the media-leaker waltz:

According to a senior U.S. government official, Flynn phoned Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak several times on Dec. 29, the day the Obama administration announced the expulsion of 35 Russian officials as well as other measures in retaliation for the hacking. What did Flynn say, and did it undercut the U.S. sanctions? The Logan Act (though never enforced) bars U.S. citizens from correspondence intending to influence a foreign government about “disputes” with the United States. Was its spirit violated? The Trump campaign didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
This is a leak of classified information. Michael Flynn was not, as far as we know, a target of any U.S. government surveillance. He was one of the figures whose conversations was “incidentally” recorded, presumably as part of the regular monitoring of Kislyak.
People within the U.S. government are not supposed to take the information that is incidentally recorded and then run to David Ignatius because they don’t like the American citizen who was recorded. That’s not the purpose of our domestic counterintelligence operations. Even if Flynn had violated the Logan Act -- which, as we all know, no one has never been prosecuted for violating -- there are legitimate avenues for dealing with that, namely going to law enforcement and a prosecutor.
(Invoking the Logan Act in this circumstance is particularly nonsensical, because the interpretation Ignatius floats would criminalize just about any discussion between a presidential candidate, a president-elect or his team and any representative of a foreign government on any matter of importance. If you ask a foreign official if his country would make a concession on Issue X in exchange for a U.S. concession on Issue Y, BOOM! Call out the SWAT teams, we’ve got a Logan Act violation!)
There are a lot of reasons not to like Michael Flynn, but that doesn’t change the fact that somebody broke the law and leaked classified information in an effort to get him in trouble. That is wrong and that is illegal, and Nunes is right to point out we’re going down a dangerous road when information collected by U.S. intelligence agencies about American citizens starts getting strategically leaked for partisan purposes.
No matter how many dolls are hidden in the nest -- Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Lynch -- it is undeniable that they all fit under the big one -- Obama. It was he who authorized the surveillance and multiagency distribution of intelligence -- in Bob Woodward’s reading, “highly classified gossip” -- about political opponent Trump and his team -- invading their privacy in violation of the law.If you were inclined to want Americans to lose faith in their intelligence community and media you couldn’t have done a better job than they did themselves. Given the establishment media’s focus on the “scandal” surrounding President Donald Trump and his administration’s contact with Russian officials, it is worth reminding Americans of the revelations involving Hillary Clinton and the Kremlin.
1. Hillary Clinton approved the transfer of 20 percent of U.S. uranium to Russia and nine investors in the deal funneled $145 million to the Clinton Foundation.
While Hillary Clinton’s State Department was one of eight agencies to review and sign off on the transfer of 20 percent of U.S. uranium to Russia — then-Secretary of State Clinton herself was the only agency head whose family foundation received $145 million in donationsfrom multiple people connected to the uranium deal, as reported by the New York Times.
2. Bill Clinton bagged $500,000 for a Moscow speech paid for by a Kremlin-backed bank while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.
Former President Bill Clinton delivered a speech in Moscowand received a $500,000 speaking fee from a Russian government-connected bank, while his wife’s State Department was getting ready to sign off on the transfer of 20 percent of U.S. uranium to Russia.
“And, in one case, a Russian investment bank connected to the deals paid money to Bill Clinton personally, through a half-million-dollar speaker’s fee,” reported the New Yorker.
3. Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman’s Joule energy company bagged $35 million from Putin’s Rusnano.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podestasat on the executive board of an energy company, Joule Unlimited, which received millions from a Putin-connected Russian government fund. Podesta also owned “75,000 common shares” in Joule Unlimited, which he had transferred to a holding company called Leonidio LLC.
Podesta also failed to fully disclose his position on Joule Unlimited’s board of directors and include it in his federal financial disclosures, as required by law, before he became President Obama’s senior adviser in January 2014.
4. Clinton Foundation chatter with State Dept. on Uranium Deal with Russia.
Senior staffers inside Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign were warned by Clinton Foundation senior vice president Maura Pally that the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA), wasaskingthe Department of Justice to investigate the State Department approval of the sale of American uranium assets to a Russian company.

If you think you’re going crazy from nonstop news coverage of unruly behavior and disruptive protests across the country since Donald Trump was elected president, rest assured there are veiled reasons for the current madness. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Michael Goodwin asserts the ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome,’ is no temporarily insane reaction, but rather “a calculated plan to wreck the presidency, whatever the cost to the country.”
The beginnings of this “rolling coup” happened in broad daylight in the taking down of Lieutenant General Michael Flynn as Director of National Security by residual players within the Obama intelligence community -- including the CIA and the NSA.
Political correctness remains so dominant in language and culture in the U.S., that no one dares utter the word "sedition." Unbeknownst to most Americans, Barack Obama is the first ex-president in 228 years of U.S. history to structure and lead a political organization, a shadow government, for the explicit purpose of sabotaging his successor -- duly elected President Donald Trump. The primary vehicle of this campaign is Organizing for Action (OFA), legally founded in January 2013 by First Lady Michelle Obama and her husband’s 2012 campaign manager Jim Messina, with input from David Axelrod.
Being respectful and accepting loss when your team doesn’t win -- essential for the functioning of any electoral representative democracy and a fundamental lesson every child used to learn through playing competitive sports -- has been destroyed by the left and appears no longer relevant for many in today’s millennial generation. It was telling that a majority of millennials embraced Bernie Sanders, not because his socialist policy platform was workable, but rather because their attitudes had been so conditioned by traditional and social media and educational institutions in the U.S. that embrace all things progressive while giving short shrift to the virtues of the American story and its animating ideas. Those ideas have always been workable because they revolve around freedom that ties rights to responsibilities, the creative power of free markets and the benefits of a Constitution that mitigates government abuse through separation of powers while also ensuring stability through the rule of law.
The modus operandi of OFA comes right out of Obama’s support and sympathy for Marxism and his background as a left-wing community organizer. It’s a combination of agitation and propaganda -- much like old-style Soviet agitprop, and Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.
For Alinsky, the rules start with an ends justifies the means quest for power, which can entail lawbreaking, deception, and concealing the true revolutionary agenda; militant obstructionism; and deflecting debate on substance while relentlessly attacking the character and legitimacy of the opponent.
Agitprop is synonymous with community organizing in that both focus on stirring up public grievance over an issue for the purpose of mobilizing that constituency to join like-minded people to protest and demonstrate, which provides made-for-TV drama scenes portraying “extemporaneous” mass protests that in turn get transmitted to millions through the media. This feedback loop is a key driver of fake news.
For instance, immediately following President Trump’s late January executive order temporarily banning refugees and visitors from seven lawless states that harbor terrorists, OFA kicked into action, mobilizing people to “spontaneously” demonstrate, causing utter chaos at nearly a dozen of the busiest airports across the country. Hardly spontaneous, it was in fact staged, courtesy of ex-president Barack Obama. Ditto for what happened in late February with members of Congress town hall meetings across the country. A week before the town halls started, OFA released its “Congressional Recess Toolkit,” a training manual for activists and demonstrators, invoking them to go in groups and get to meeting halls early and “spread out… throughout the front half of the room, [which] will make the perception of broad consensus a reality for your member of congress.” So perception drives fake news which is intended to drive reality.
Many have wondered why Obama didn’t follow the tradition of almost every other ex-president and depart Washington after his term was up. Instead he moved into a large home in Washington D.C.’s Embassy Row, allegedly to provide continuity for his daughter’s education and to stay close to the shapers of his presidential legacy. Those reasons are likely
secondary to his being an inbred leftist activist
who lives for the “transformation” of America.
Ramping up a hydra-headed organizational effort through OFA out of his 8,200 square-foot walled mansion in Washington to protect the Left’s gains and to sabotage the electoral victory of Donald Trump is simply a natural progression for Obama.

Obama has not only been trained in Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, but he’s familiar with the “crisis strategy theory” of Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, two neo-Marxists who taught at Columbia University, where Obama later studied. For Cloward and Piven, the left’s easiest route to socialist transformation is to overload the welfare state, which will trigger an insolvency crisis and financial collapse. U.S. Congressmen Steven King (R-Iowa) and Steve Stockman (R-Texas) have both gone on record, saying Obama was “playing out of the Cloward-Piven theory” by “attempting to flood the border with illegals.”
As Paul Sperry writes in the New York Post, “Obama has an army of agitators -- numbering more than 30,000 -- who will fight his Republican successor at every turn of his historic presidency. And Obama will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.” Obama’s OFA Washington HQ is now the nerve center that coordinates 250 offices nationwide, which together with its Chicago-based sister organization, the Community Organizing Institute (COI), are planning to facilitate the “training [of] more than 2 million youths in Alinsky street tactics” and carry out plans “to stage 400 rallies across 42 states to attack Trump and Republicans over ObamaCare’s repeal.”
Recent funding records are not available, but in
just its first two years, OFA took in over $40
million, according to IRS filings. Not surprisingly,
OFA’s major donors are also members of George
Soros’s Democracy Alliance, which is a donors’
consortium of the left-wing super rich devoted to
radical political change.
Daniel Greenfield, the award-winning Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, believes “OFA will be far more dangerous in the wild than the Clinton Foundation ever was.” Since OFA has all the contact information assets of Obama’s predecessor 2008 and 2012 campaign organization, Organizing for America, which include 30 million email addresses, three million donors and two million active participants there should be no underestimating OFA’s potential influence, especially with an uncritical media covering it up.
But in the end, the majority of Americans are not easily fooled. Their common sense was the key factor in electing Donald Trump, an unconventionally bold leader with the courage to take on corruption in the media and in the Washington establishment. Not only was Trump successful in peeling off many traditional Democrats affiliated with labor in the rust belt states, but now Trump and his movement can further drive wedges into an increasingly fractured Democratic Party.
Although Jimmy Carter is widely viewed as the worst Democratic president, Obama has singlehandedly done more to damage the Democratic Party in eight years than the GOP could have ever hoped or planned -- an unprecedented staggering net loss of 1,042 state and federal Democratic seats, among congressional and state legislatures, governorships and the presidency. Many state-
level Democratic Party leaders are now in open
revolt against Obama’s OFA, which they see
operating as a shadow party without coordination
or accountability, and funded from controversial
“end of America” extremist sources like George
Soros.
Contrary to the early vocal critics among the establishment elites, aka the “#NeverTrumpers,” it now looks like the Republican Party will not only survive, but prosper under Donald Trump, whose leadership was recently manifest in his first major speech to a joint session of congress, and is on display in his hand-picked A-team cabinet. It is the Democratic Party -- that is weak, divided, lacking in common sense and devoid of leadership and new ideas being under the grip of rigid left-wingers and ideology -- that is looking more like the endangered species, thanks in large part to
Barack Obama and his Organizing for Action.

Report: Obama officials spent final days purposely pushing Russia allegations: Officials in the Obama administration reportedly spent Barack Obama's final few days in office spreading their message internally that President Trump's associates had maintained inappropriate ties to Russian officials during the campaign, an allegation that neither the Obama administration nor the Trump administration has publicly substantiated. Obama administration officials also sought to preserve evidence of what they characterized as Russia's attempts to influence the election by hacking into Democrats' email accounts, according to a New York Times report issued late Wednesday. The Times cited three former government officials in its assertion that British and Dutch intelligence officials had given the U.S. government evidence of what they said was a series of meetings between Russian officials and Trump associates.

We are living in interesting times, as some famous Chinese man said centuries ago.
First, the outgoing president decides to live miles from the White House. I understand that we have not seen something like this since President Woodrow Wilson.
Second, we just learned that Valerie Jarrett is moving in with the Obamas:
Barack Obama is turning his new home in the posh Kalorama section of the nation's capital – just two miles away from the White House – into the nerve center of the mounting insurgency against his successor, President Donald J. Trump.
Obama's goal, according to a close family friend, is to oust Trump from the presidency either by forcing his resignation or through his impeachment.
And Obama is being aided in his political crusade by his longtime consigliere, Valerie Jarrett, who has moved into the 8,200-square-foot, $5.3-million Kaloroma mansion with the former president and Michelle Obama, long time best friends.
Jarrett played a vital – if at times low-key – role in the Obama presidency.
She lived in the White House, dined with the Obamas, and help shape his domestic and foreign policies.
I guess that takes the chief of staff position to a new level.
Before we get all bent out of shape, let's consider a couple of things.
First, how successful was Obama in politics? He did win and was re-elected. At the same time, he left behind a Democratic Party in its worst shape in decades. He was popular, according to polls, but not very good at electing Democrats. Does anyone seriously believe that Valerie Jarrett can do much from the Obama home to help Democrat incumbent senators in West Virginia, North Dakota, Indiana, Missouri, or Montana?
Second, Obama's efforts to allegedly bring down Trump will succeed only if the GOP fails to deliver, from repealing and replacing Obamacare to all of the other things promised in the campaign.

Executives at Penguin Random House, the global publishing giant, announced Tuesday that the firm had reached an agreement to publish books by former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. Vanity Fair commented, “The couple will write their books separately but sold the book rights jointly.”
The Financial Times reported that Penguin Random House had won a record-breaking auction between publishing houses and will buy the two books for more than $65 million. It is not known which one of the company’s numerous imprints will publish them. The previous record for a presidential memoir belonged to Bill Clinton—$15 million.
In a press release, Penguin Random House CEO Markus Dohle (the publisher is owned 53 percent by German media conglomerate Bertelsmann) explained: “We are absolutely thrilled to continue our publishing partnership with President and Mrs. Obama. With their words and their leadership, they changed the world, and every day, with the books we publish at Penguin Random House, we strive to do the same. Now, we are very much looking forward to working together with President and Mrs. Obama to make each of their books global publishing events of unprecedented scope and significance.”

Sixty-five million dollars—or even $267.5 million—is a small price to pay for the contribution the former president made to enriching the already fabulously rich, defending the American ruling elite’s geopolitical interests around the world and continuing the assault on the wages, benefits and living standards of the working class.
The man who promised “change” and whose election was termed a “transformative event” by the American pseudo-left proved to be an implacable defender of big business.
The WSWS has reported several times that during Obama’s administration the wealth of the richest 400 Americans grew from $1.57 trillion to $2.4 trillion and the stock market enjoyed one of its most successful runs in history.
Now Obama plans to vacation with billionaires, play golf and “cash in.”
The announcement of the $65 million deal has not been accompanied in the media by any criticism, much less shame or revulsion, nor are the Obamas presumably embarrassed in the slightest. On the contrary, the media and Obama’s admirers treat the book deal for the most part as a tremendous accomplishment, something to be immensely proud of, just as the news anchors now gloatingly report record share prices or billion-dollar box office successes.
Political life in the US has reached a stage at which the representatives of the immensely wealthy are immensely wealthy themselves, or the immensely wealthy rule directly, as in the case of Donald Trump. Official American politics is a closed-in, sealed-off universe of money and privilege.
The Chicago Tribune pointed out some years ago that, after completing his term in office, “Thomas Jefferson was forced to sell his 6,000-volume book collection to the government—forming the core of the Library of Congress—to pay off his creditors; his debt-ridden successor, James Madison, pleaded in vain for a loan from the new Bank of the United States; and the next president, James Monroe, was so impoverished upon his death in New York that his family could not afford to send his remains back to his native Virginia.”
None of those ex-presidents requested a pension. “In these early years, with the revolution against King George still a fresh memory, a lifetime government sinecure smacked too much of royal privilege.”
Now we have this, according to the New York Times: “Speculation about the Obamas’ books and how much they would sell for have been circulating in the industry in recent weeks, as executives at the top publishing houses met separately with the former president and first lady. Some publishing executives who followed the bidding process said that the opening offers for Mr. Obama’s book alone were in the $18 million to $20 million range.” BLOG: THE HISTORY OF A PSYCHOPATH - THE MAN THAT YELLED "HOPE & CHANGE" AND BECAME GEORGE BUSH'S THIRD AND FOURTH TERMS ON STEROIDS!
If Barack Obama were to write an honest book, it would be worth something. If he were to reveal the forces that picked him up at a relatively early age, seeing in him a marketable political commodity (both white and black, liberal and conservative, foreign and American), and how those forces assembled and packaged him and carried him into the White House, well, that would be valuable.
Of course, that will never happen. The new book will no doubt be even more repugnant than the last one, The Audacity of Hope (2006). As we observed in our review of that work on the WSWS in February 2007, “Is there a single honest or original thought in Barack Obama’s new book? If so, it does not immediately come to mind.”
We wrote that Obama’s work was “a calculated effort, from its title to its final page, designed to demonstrate his readiness to take the reins of political power in the US. That is to say, while Obama directs portions of his book toward sections of the more well-heeled and complacent Democratic Party faithful, those most inclined to wishful thinking, the audience that primarily concerns him consists of the powerful corporate, financial and media figures who organize and ultimately shape the campaigns of the two major parties’ candidates.”
But Obama’s new memoir will have so much more to cover up or ignore: the multi-billion dollar Wall Street bail-out, the halving of auto workers’ pay, the illegal drone strike murders of thousands, the unprecedented growth of social inequality, the reactionary health care initiative, the disastrous wars or interventions in Libya, Syria, Yemen … And one could add, the election of Trump itself, the fitting climax to two terms during which Obama disappointed, disillusioned and angered tens of millions, opening the door to the most sinister administration in American history.
The Times editors, of course, have only one thing on their collective mind, or rather two, race and money: “A frank discussion of his [Obama’s] time in the White House, and of issues like race relations in America, could reach an even wider audience, becoming a worldwide blockbuster. Penguin Random House, a global publishing house with more than 250 imprints, has worldwide rights to the books, which means the company can make a good deal of money overseas and in translation.”
Meanwhile, contrary to the Obamas and their apologists, Penguin Random House and the corrupt media, great numbers of people will be disgusted by the $65 million payoff and the profound discrediting of the entire American political system, with its ultimately revolutionary implications, will continue apace.

Everyone seems to think the Democratic Party dodged a bullet in selecting former Labor Secretary Thomas Perez over radical Islamist Rep. Keith Ellison for party chairman. A look at Perez's record shows that the party dodged nothing.
Ellison's appeal to Democrats was in his openly deranged radical extremism, he was billed as the outsider, the upstart, the new wave to freshen up the stale party that had lost so badly last November. Perez was somehow declared the moderate by default. Fact is, he was just as extreme in his views, but less noisy than Ellison. Instead of Ellison's cacaphony and creepy associates, Perez had a actual track record. Interestingly enough, CASA de Maryland, a Soros-funded group dedicated to helping illegal immigrants flout U.S. immigration law that Perez headed up, took a $1.5 million donation in 2008 from the Venezuelan dictator. Perez seems to have taken Chavez's philosophy along with it, which isn't that surprising: His dad was a well-known henchman for Rafael Trujillo, the bemedaled, mirrored-sunglassed Idi-Amin-style thug dictator of the Dominican Republic who used to throw his opponents literally into the shark pools over his 30-plus years rule. Trujillo was the grotesque dictator featured in Nobel Laureate Mario Vargas Llosa's Feast of the Goat. One cannot control who one's relatives are, of course, but Perez is notable for lying about it, not just in denying the relationship but in saying it was the opposite of what it was.
That baggage may have been why Perez did not secure the vice presidential slot for Hillary Clinton, but it was no obstacle to serving in the Obama administration. Starting out as President Obama's Assistant Attorney General in 2009 under far-left Attorney General Eric Holder, Perez headed up the controversy-filled civil rights division and showed what he was truly about.
Right out the gate, the Black Panther voter suppression controversy came up. New Black Panther Party goons were filmed lurking at voting stations with truncheons in a bid to intimidate voters in Philadelphia during the 2008 election. Instead of prosecute the obvious violation of voter rights, Perez opted to drop charges. After all, it was his party that benefited.
After that, the issue of undelivered and uncounted military ballots, affecting overseas servicemen came up. Perez's department did nothing to rectify the situation and declined to prosecute states or failing to deliver ballots. Only when they had been made aware that demographics were changing as to who the military voters were voting for, meaning Democrats, was any action at all taken.
Then there was the effort to halt voter fraud in Florida, where Perez's DoJ filed a lawsuit to stop Florida from purging its voter rolls of 182,000 non-citizens. In June 2012, it was thrown out by a Clinton-appointed federal judge.
Perez filed race-baiting lawsuits against municipalities to force them to scrap written tests for police and firefighters to ensure affirmative action hiring.American Spectator's Quin Hillyer wrot Perez argued that black firefighter applicants who flunked 70% of their entrance exams should get a free pass to the New York firefighters academy. Perez also has led the Obama administration's charge against voter ID laws, attempting to halt a South Carolina case that according to Hillier, got " smacked down hard" by the U.S. District Court for the D.C. Circuit.
He also initiated additional junk lawsuits against peaceful anti-abortion protestors in Florida and against colorful Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
As for his own division of DOJ, a 250-page internal DOJ Inspector General's report blasted it for its hothouse atmosphere of racial grievance mongering, "with several incidents in which deep ideological polarization fueled disputes and mistrust that harmed the functioning of the Voting Section." This is the work of a rabid activist who sees advancing the leftist agenda and the party that has adopted it as the goal. The party's supremacy is his goal and the law is an obstacle. Batten down the hearings: President Obama’s nominee to head up the Labor Department is expected to get a grilling on Thursday before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.
Thomas Perez has come under fire, especially from House and Senate Republicans, over the motivation for decisions he made while serving as head of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.
In particular, GOP lawmakers have sharply criticized Perez for what they say is a questionable deal he struck with the city of St. Paul, Minn., which agreed to scrap a housing discrimination lawsuit in exchange for Justice not pursuing two separate whistleblower housing cases.
The House GOP issued a 63-page report on Sunday after months of probing into the issue saying his decisions cost the nation $200 million.
"There is much more to the story of how Assistant Attorney General Perez manipulated the rule of law and pushed the limits of justice to make this deal happen," said the report from Sen. Chuck Grassley and Reps. Darrell Issa (Calif.) and Rep. Bob Goodlatte (Va.).
"This offer was inappropriate and potentially violated Perez’s duty of loyalty to his client, the United States."
Perez has defended his actions, saying he asked the city to drop the case because he was worried that an unfavorable ruling from the Supreme Court would ultimately hurt the government’s chances of winning housing discrimination cases.
The Justice Department has backed him up and has said he was cleared to offer the deal.
But Republicans say Perez misled senior officials about his intentions and that he tried to cover up the true reasons for intervening to stop the cases.
Top Democrats on the House Oversight Committee issued a strong rebuttal, saying the GOP report "was riddled with numerous factual errors, broad mischaracterizations and stark omissions."
"The overwhelming evidence obtained during the investigation indicates that he was properly performing his role as head of the Civil Rights Division, effectively representing the position of the United States government, and advancing the national interest in combating discrimination," wrote Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), ranking member on the House Oversight Committee.
Democrats say Perez didn't make a secret deal, try to cover up the agreement or overstep his authority.
Perez will get his chance on Thursday to clear the air about the accusations with the aim of convincing lawmakers that he is the right person to take over for former Labor Secretary Hilda Solis.

Labor Secretary Pledges Help For Illegal Workers

Two months after the Department of Labor launched a special program to assist and protect illegal immigrants in the U.S. the Obama cabinet official who heads the agency is personally encouraging undocumented workers to report employers that don’t pay them fairly.
In a Spanish-language public service announcement, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis assures that “every worker in America has a right to be paid fairly, whether documented or not.” Illegal aliens who are not getting fair wages are encouraged to call a new hotline set up by the agency on a new “Podemos Ayudar” (We Can Help) web page designed to administer worker protection laws and ensure that employees are properly paid “regardless of immigration status.”
In the short video, also posted in English, Solis tells illegal immigrants that it’s a “serious problem” when workers in this country are not paid fairly and that all workers have the right to receive their salary regardless of immigration status. She encourages those who are not to call the new hotline and assures it’s free and confidential. “Podemos ayudar,” (we can help), Solis guarantees at the end of the brief segment.
The Labor Secretary’s new message is part of a campaign launched a few months ago to help illegal immigrant workers in the U.S., who she refers to as “vulnerable” and “underpaid.” At least 1,000 new field investigators have been deployed to reach out to Latino laborers in areas with large numbers of illegal alien employees and the agency will focus on enforcing labor and wage laws in industries that typically hire lots of illegal aliens without reporting anyone to federal immigration authorities.
For a government agency to protect law breakers in this fashion may seem unbelievable but not if you consider the source. A Former California congresswoman, Solis has close ties to the influential La Raza movement that advocates open borders and rights for illegal immigrants. She made the protection of undocumented workers a major priority upon being named Labor Secretary, assuring illegal aliens that “if you work in this country, you are protected by our laws.”

Those ideas have always been workable because they revolve around freedom that ties rights to responsibilities, the creative power of free markets and the benefits of a Constitution that mitigates government abuse through separation of powers while also ensuring stability through the rule of law.
The modus operandi of OFA comes right out of Obama’s support and sympathy for Marxism and his background as a left-wing community organizer. It’s a combination of agitation and propaganda -- much like old-style Soviet agitprop, and Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.
For Alinsky, the rules start with an ends justifies the means quest for power, which can entail lawbreaking, deception, and concealing the true revolutionary agenda; militant obstructionism; and deflecting debate on substance while relentlessly attacking the character and legitimacy of the opponent.
Agitprop is synonymous with community organizing in that both focus on stirring up public grievance over an issue for the purpose of mobilizing that constituency to join like-minded people to protest and demonstrate, which provides made-for-TV drama scenes portraying “extemporaneous” mass protests that in turn get transmitted to millions through the media. This feedback loop is a key driver of fake news.
For instance, immediately following President Trump’s late January executive order temporarily banning refugees and visitors from seven lawless states that harbor terrorists, OFA kicked into action, mobilizing people to “spontaneously” demonstrate, causing utter chaos at nearly a dozen of the busiest airports across the country. Hardly spontaneous, it was in fact staged, courtesy of ex-president Barack Obama. Ditto for what happened in late February with members of Congress town hall meetings across the country. A week before the town halls started, OFA released its “Congressional Recess Toolkit,” a training manual for activists and demonstrators, invoking them to go in groups and get to meeting halls early and “spread out… throughout the front half of the room, [which] will make the perception of broad consensus a reality for your member of congress.” So perception drives fake news which is intended to drive reality.
Many have wondered why Obama didn’t follow the tradition of almost every other ex-president and depart Washington after his term was up. Instead he moved into a large home in Washington D.C.’s Embassy Row, allegedly to provide continuity for his daughter’s education and to stay close to the shapers of his presidential legacy. Those reasons are likely
secondary to his being an inbred leftist activist
who lives for the “transformation” of America.
Ramping up a hydra-headed organizational effort through OFA out of his 8,200 square-foot walled mansion in Washington to protect the Left’s gains and to sabotage the electoral victory of Donald Trump is simply a natural progression for Obama.
Obama is no fool and he understands -- having
encouraged Black Lives Matter and the war on
police and law enforcement, having facilitated
ballooning welfare rolls and doubling student debt
to $1.35 trillion, having presided over a flood of
immigrants illegally crossing the southern border,
and having pushed unprecedented deficit spending
that added nearly a trillion dollars annually to the
federal debt and doubling that debt in eight years
to $20 trillion -- that the U.S. is nearer collapse
than at any previous time. And every Marxist
knows that socialist transformation first requires
collapse of the old order.
Obama has not only been trained in Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, but he’s familiar with the “crisis strategy theory” of Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, two neo-Marxists who taught at Columbia University, where Obama later studied. For Cloward and Piven, the left’s easiest route to socialist transformation is to overload the welfare state, which will trigger an insolvency crisis and financial collapse. U.S. Congressmen Steven King (R-Iowa) and Steve Stockman (R-Texas) have both gone on record, saying Obama was “playing out of the Cloward-Piven theory” by “attempting to flood the border with illegals.”
As Paul Sperry writes in the New York Post, “Obama has an army of agitators -- numbering more than 30,000 -- who will fight his Republican successor at every turn of his historic presidency. And Obama will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.” Obama’s OFA Washington HQ is now the nerve center that coordinates 250 offices nationwide, which together with its Chicago-based sister organization, the Community Organizing Institute (COI), are planning to facilitate the “training [of] more than 2 million youths in Alinsky street tactics” and carry out plans “to stage 400 rallies across 42 states to attack Trump and Republicans over ObamaCare’s repeal.”
Recent funding records are not available, but in
just its first two years, OFA took in over $40
million, according to IRS filings. Not surprisingly,
OFA’s major donors are also members of George
Soros’s Democracy Alliance, which is a donors’
consortium of the left-wing super rich devoted to
radical political change.
Daniel Greenfield, the award-winning Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, believes “OFA will be far more dangerous in the wild than the Clinton Foundation ever was.” Since OFA has all the contact information assets of Obama’s predecessor 2008 and 2012 campaign organization, Organizing for America, which include 30 million email addresses, three million donors and two million active participants there should be no underestimating OFA’s potential influence, especially with an uncritical media covering it up.
But in the end, the majority of Americans are not easily fooled. Their common sense was the key factor in electing Donald Trump, an unconventionally bold leader with the courage to take on corruption in the media and in the Washington establishment. Not only was Trump successful in peeling off many traditional Democrats affiliated with labor in the rust belt states, but now Trump and his movement can further drive wedges into an increasingly fractured Democratic Party.
Although Jimmy Carter is widely viewed as the worst Democratic president, Obama has singlehandedly done more to damage the Democratic Party in eight years than the GOP could have ever hoped or planned -- an unprecedented staggering net loss of 1,042 state and federal Democratic seats, among congressional and state legislatures, governorships and the presidency. Many state-
level Democratic Party leaders are now in open
revolt against Obama’s OFA, which they see
operating as a shadow party without coordination
or accountability, and funded from controversial
“end of America” extremist sources like George
Soros.
Contrary to the early vocal critics among the establishment elites, aka the “#NeverTrumpers,” it now looks like the Republican Party will not only survive, but prosper under Donald Trump, whose leadership was recently manifest in his first major speech to a joint session of congress, and is on display in his hand-picked A-team cabinet. It is the Democratic Party -- that is weak, divided, lacking in common sense and devoid of leadership and new ideas being under the grip of rigid left-wingers and ideology -- that is looking more like the endangered species, thanks in large part to
Barack Obama and his Organizing for Action.

Report: Obama officials spent final days purposely pushing Russia allegations: Officials in the Obama administration reportedly spent Barack Obama's final few days in office spreading their message internally that President Trump's associates had maintained inappropriate ties to Russian officials during the campaign, an allegation that neither the Obama administration nor the Trump administration has publicly substantiated. Obama administration officials also sought to preserve evidence of what they characterized as Russia's attempts to influence the election by hacking into Democrats' email accounts, according to a New York Times report issued late Wednesday. The Times cited three former government officials in its assertion that British and Dutch intelligence officials had given the U.S. government evidence of what they said was a series of meetings between Russian officials and Trump associates.
Now that the #Obamagate wiretapping scandal is on us, with voters wondering "did he or didn't he" bug the presidential candidacy of Donald Trump, as the latter charged Saturday, it's worth it to look at the president's style of governing. The estimable Doug Ross of Director Blue has a list of historic "firsts" of the Obama presidency, most of which show abuse of power in a pattern so repetitive it's impossible not to think this could go farther.
You can be the judge of whether or not Obama had it in him to bug the candidacy of Trump. But check out Doug's list to see what Obama's leadership character pattern amounts to.
As an old journalist buddy of mine from the foreign correspondent front in Africa said upon his return to the states: "I spent 20 years in the jungles here, serving my country in a way ... only to return home to an African dictator." He saw the pattern then. Ross's list might show the pattern to many more.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Government transparency activist group Judicial Watch has filed aFreedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuitagainst the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Department of the Treasury (DOT) seeking records related to the investigation of retired United States Army Lieutenant General Michel Flynn’s communications with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Breitbart News spoke exclusively to Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, who said, “We’ve been looking into this story for months now and the only crimes connected to this Russian scandal we’ve been able to find so far are the illegal leaks of information and the violations of privacy by the Obama gang.”
Judicial Watch filed a FOIA on January 25, 2017 and only filed the lawsuit after the agencies failed to respond. The FOIA request was for “Any and all records regarding, concerning, or related to the investigation of retired Gen. Michael Flynn’s communications with Russian Ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak between October 1, 2016 and the present.”
The suit claims that “Defendants are violating FOIA by failing to search for and produce all records responsive to Plaintiff’s requests or demonstrate that the requested records are lawfully exempt from production.”
In a prepared statement, Tom Fitton commented:
President Trump is on to something. The Obama-connected wiretapping and illegal leaks of classified material concerning President Trump and General Flynn are a scandal. Judicial Watch aims to get to the truth about these crimes and we hope the Trump administration stands with us in the fight for transparency.
The lawsuit points out that on January 23, 2017,CNN reportedthat the government was investigating Flynn, former national security adviser to President Trump, and said:
The calls were captured by routine US eavesdropping targeting the Russian diplomats, according to the intelligence and law enforcement officials. But the officials said some of the content of the conversation raised enough potential concerns that investigators are still looking into the discussions, amid a broader concern about Russian intelligence-gathering activities in the United States.
The officials all stressed that so far there has been no determination of any wrongdoing.
Radio host Mark Levin has outlined a sequence of events — expanded on by Breitbart News — that shows how, starting in June 2016, the Obama administration filed requests with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) to monitor communications targeting Donald Trump and several advisers. Just prior’s to CNN’s report cited by Judicial Watch, theNew York Timesreportedthat the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the CIA, the National Security Agency (NSA), and the Treasury Department were monitoring several associates of the Trump campaign.
