Fast
and Furious: Arrest in death of border agent
By Rick Moran
An arrest has finally been
made in connection with the 2010 murder of border patrol agent Brian Terry, who
was killed with a gun supplied to a drug cartel by the U.S. government in the
Fast and Furious scandal.
The suspect, Heraclio
Osorio-Arellanes, was apprehended by a joint U.S.-Mexico law enforcement task
force that included the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshals and the
Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC).
A $250,000 reward had been
sought for information leading to the arrest of Osorio-Arellanes, who was
captured at a ranch on the border of the Mexican states of Sinaloa and
Chihuahua. U.S. authorities have said they will seek his extradition.
Terry was killed on Dec. 14,
2010 in a gunfight between Border Patrol agents and members of a five-man
cartel "rip crew," which regularly patrolled the desert along the
U.S.-Mexico border looking for drug dealers to rob.
The agent's death exposed
Operation Fast and Furious, a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and
Explosives (ATF) operation in which the federal government allowed criminals to
buy guns in Phoenix-area shops with the intention of tracking them once they
made their way into Mexico. But the agency lost track of more than 1,400 of the
2,000 guns they allowed smugglers to buy. Two of those guns were found at the
scene of Terry's killing.
The operation set off a
political firestorm, and then-Attorney General Eric Holder was held in
contempt of Congress after he refused to divulge documents for a congressional
investigation.
Four members of the "rip
crew" already been sentenced to jail time in the U.S. Manual
Osorio-Arellanes was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after pleading
guilty to first-degree murder in February 2014.
In October 2015, Ivan
Soto-Barraza and Jesus Sanchez-Meza were convicted by a federal jury of nine
different charges, including first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery.
Rosario Rafael
Burboa-Alvarez, accused of assembling the "rip crew," was sentenced
to 27 years in prison after striking a plea agreement with prosecutors.
The last remaining member of
the "rip crew," Jesus Rosario Favela-Astorga, is believed to
still be at large.
Justice in this case has not
been swift, and there are still many unanswered questions about the scandal
that Eric Holder's Justice Department refused to deal with. There have
been no arrests of U.S. government officials for the scandal, and, despite the
huge size and scope of the operation, very few people at ATF and DoJ lost their
jobs because of it.
The Oversight Committee in
the House still has outstanding subpoenas for documents. Will Attorney
General Sessions cooperate with Congress to finally get to the bottom of what
happened? What will happen to IRS employees who deliberately withheld thousands of pages of
documents in the targeting scandal? What of other Obama administration
scandals where Eric Holder or other federal employees stonewalled Congress?
The seamy underbelly of the
Obama administration needs to be exposed, and A.G. Sessions is in the best
position to make that happen.
IMMANENT COLLAPSE THE PENA-NIETO
REGIME AND FALL TO THE LA RAZA DRUG CARTELS ON AMERICAN OPEN AND UNDEFENDED BORDERS.
More significant still, a
former Mexican official, Jorge CastaƱeda, threatened to unleash
Mexican cartels onto the U.S. to retaliate for deportations of illegal
immigrants and the construction of a border wall.
“Mexico in a country whose
four wealthiest billionaires control as much wealth as the bottom half of the
population—the 65 million that live in poverty (which includes 13 million
living in extreme poverty)—and where the top 10 percent as a whole accounts for
67 percent of Mexico’s national wealth.”

Assaults
on Border Patrol Agents Up 143 Percent
A report published this
week reveals that assaults on U.S. Border Patrol agents during the first half
of the current fiscal year are up 143 percent over the same period in FY 2016.
Since the fiscal year began on October 1, 462 Border Patrol agents have been
assaulted.
Border Patrol agents are
the most assaulted law enforcement officers in the federal government, former Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan testified before the Senate Homeland Security
Committee in November. Since his testimony, the numbers have skyrocketed.
In March alone, illegal
aliens, human smugglers, foreign nationals, and American criminals assaulted 49
Border Patrol agents, according to an April 10 CBP report. Breitbart Texas has reported on
many of those incidents, some involving serious injuries.
Since October 1, 2016, 462 Border Patrol agents have been
assaulted. During the same period in FY 2016 190 agents came under assault.
These numbers reflect assaults through March 31, 2017. During that same period,
only 30 CBP officers were assaulted.
Many agents believe they are assaulted frequently due to lack of
prosecution in many cases.
On Tuesday, U.S. Attorney
General Jeff Sessions said he is putting an end to that and directed the Department of Justice to aggressively prosecute
assaults on agents. “I have directed that all 94 U.S. Attorneys
Offices make the prosecution of assault on a federal law enforcement officer —
that’s all of you — a top priority,” the Attorney General told a group of U.S.
Customs and Border Protection officers in Nogales, Arizona. “If someone dares
to assault one of our folks in the line of duty, they will do federal time for
it.”
In a memorandum to U.S. Attorneys Offices across the country,
Sessions ordered, “Prosecution to the extent practicable cases of assault,
resisting, or impeding officers engaged in the performance of their duties in
administrative and criminal immigration enforcement.”
Border Patrol agents told Breitbart Texas in the past that
agents practically had to be hospitalized before the DOJ would bring charges.
Border Patrol agents are
frequently assaulted by rock throwers from Mexico,
Breitbart Texas Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief Brandon Darby reported in
April 2014. Many of these assaults lead to serious injury or even death. “The
reality being far from the false narrative of ‘kids throwing pebbles’,” Darby
reported, “the life-threatening rock attacks against Border Patrol agents often
occur in remote areas when a solitary Border Patrol agent may be up to a
90-minute drive from their nearest backup.” The article reveals photographic
proof of many of the injuries received by agents during these assaults and the
size of the “rocks” used in the assaults.

SABOTAGE of HOMELAND SECURITY: BARACK OBAMA PARTNERS WITH
MEXICO’S DRUG CARTELS TO BRING DOWN THE U.S. MIDDLE-CLASS
As soon
as the UACs started arriving, Homeland Security sources told Judicial Watch
that many had ties to gang members in the U.S. In fact, JW reported last July
that street gangs—including Mara Salvatrucha or MS-13—went on a recruiting frenzy
at U.S. shelters housing the illegal immigrant minors and they were using Red
Cross phones to communicate.
