REPORT: Immigrants with Detainers Released by Sanctuary New York, Commit more Crimes

A report from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reveals the dangers New York City residents are placed in by local officials who ignore immigration detainers and release jailed criminal immigrants to commit more crimes.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers conducted a study of 440 criminal immigrants who were released from jail after ERO placed immigration detainers on the suspects prior to their release. Nearly 40 of those 440 criminal immigrants released from custody re-offended and were re-arrested by local law enforcement for new crimes committed against the citizens they swore to protect, according to information obtained by Breitbart Texas from ICE officials.
“In just three months, more than three dozen criminal aliens were released from local custody,” acting field office director for the ERO New York Scott Mechowski said in a written statement. “Simply put, the politics and rhetoric in this city are putting its own communities at an unnecessary risk.
“ICE has no choice but to continue to conduct at-large arrests in local neighborhoods and at worksites, wasting valuable resources on criminal aliens who could be securely turned over to ICE custody at jails and prisons,” Director Mechowski explained. “However, ICE remains committed to its public safety mission and will continue to enforce our nation’s immigration laws.”
Immigration officials offered the following as examples of the crimes committed by people who should have been turned over to ICE for removal prior to being released:
  • A 43-year old man from China was released in March after being arrested for Criminal Possession Controlled Substance-7th, then re-arrested for Criminal Possession Controlled Substance-5th (Felony) in April. His criminal history also includes a conviction for Criminal Contempt.
  • A 28-year old man from Azerbaijan was released in February after being returned on a warrant for a Criminal Trespass-3rd arrest from June 2017, then re-arrested in April for Grand Larceny-4th: Credit Card. His criminal history also includes convictions for Assault-3rd, Disorderly Conduct, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle-1st.
  • A 20-year old from Guatemala arrested for a felony count Assault 2nd Degree: Injure Victim 65 or older and released in January, arrested in February for Felony Grand Larceny, and arrested again in March for Resisting Arrest.
  • A 28-year old Salvadoran man arrested for Assault in March was released, then again arrested for Robbery in April.
  • A 29-year old man from Burkina Faso was released in January after being arrested for Criminal Contempt, then re-arrested again in April for Criminal Contempt.
Others within the group of 440 criminal immigrants released include:
  • A 28-year old from Azerbaijan arrested for Possession of Stolen Property in April and Assault/Intimidation in January. His criminal history also includes arrests for Assault, Trespassing, and Larceny and convictions for Assault and Disorderly Conduct.
  • A 20-year old from Jamaica arrested for Possession of a Weapon in April. His criminal history also includes arrests for Fraud, Robbery, and Homicide.
New York jail officials have not notified ERO officers of criminal aliens about to be released since 2014, ERO officials stated. The exception to this is immigrants who have committed one of the 170 crimes considered “egregious by the New York Mayor’s Office.
The release of these criminal aliens puts residents of New York in additional danger, ICE officials stated. It also puts ERO officers in danger when they must arrest the criminal aliens outside of the safe confines of the local jail.

Two brothers, one serving in the National Guard and the other serving in the U.S. Border Patrol, are teamed up in Operation Guardian Support to help secure the Texas border with Mexico.
Army National Guard 1st Lieutenant David Acosta received an assignment to serve as the officer-in-charge of the Aviation Task Force assigned to the Laredo Sector as part of the Guard’s deployment under Operation Guardian Support ordered earlier this year by President Donald Trump. He is also assigned to be the Liaison Officer between the Guard and the U.S. Border Patrol’s Laredo Sector, according to information obtained by Breitbart Texas from Border Patrol officials.
Lt. Acosta joins his brother, Assistant Chief Patrol Agent Gabriel Acosta who is assigned to the sector’s headquarters in Laredo. The lieutenant is uniquely qualified for his assignment during this deployment as he previously worked as a Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo Sector.
“I volunteered for this deployment because I understand how important the United States Border Patrol’s role is when it comes to securing our nation’s border,” Lt. Acosta said in a written statement. “Currently, the states of Mississippi and Alabama and are providing aerial support here in Laredo. These pilots and crews have flown missions all over the world and are experts in their respective fields.”
Chief Acosta acknowledged the support his sector is receiving from the National Guard. “The amount of support we have been receiving from the National Guard has been invaluable,” he said. “Agents are often forced to work alone and in remote areas.  The aerial surveillance they provide allows us to have more awareness along the border and keep the agents on the ground safe.”
Laredo Sector officials said the guardsmen have assisted in hundreds of apprehensions of illegal immigrants thus far during Operation Guardian Support. With their help, Border Patrol agents have also seized nearly 1,000 pounds of marijuana and carried out multiple rescues of lost migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico.

Border State Prison Becomes New Battleground in Cartel War

Reynosa Prison Riot
Breitbart Texas / Cartel Chronicles

REYNOSA, Tamaulipas — The ongoing cartel war for control of the border city of Reynosa has spread from the streets into the state prison in the outskirts of the city. Rival factions of the Gulf Cartel appear to be fighting over the revenue made from extortion and illicit businesses inside the prison.

This week, Tamaulipas state authorities deployed nearly 60 police and first responder vehicles to help authorities at the prison in Reynosa take control of a large scale riot inside. One inmate who is believed to have started the riot died during the riot. Eight others were injured but are expected to recover. Unofficial information obtained by Breitbart Texas points to some of the injured prisoners having been shot.
During the riot, hundreds of relatives lined up outside of the prison asking for Warden Maria De Jesus Aldana to provide information as to the welfare of their loved ones inside. Military forces, as well as federal and state police officers, used drones to oversee the prison as they moved from hotspot to hotspot trying to quell the fighting.
The riot came just one day after a team of cartel gunmen ambushed the van where the head of security for the prison, Jesus “Chuyito” Alvarez, was riding. The attack took place along the Libramiento highway that cuts through Reynosa connecting Matamoros with Monterrey. One of the prison guards was injured in the attack while one of the gunmen was killed. Alvarez survived a similar attack just 15 days prior when another team of gunmen ambushed him along the Reynosa- Rio Bravo highway. The prison security chief was able to escape by getting to the military station along that same highway.
For over a year, rival factions of the Gulf Cartel have been fighting for control of the various drug trafficking and human smuggling routes in Reynosa and its surrounding areas. The fighting has manifested itself through fierce gun battles along the city streets, as well as an unending number of kidnappings and executions. Since the violence started in May 2017, the city has seen more than 500 murders directly related to the internal cartel war, Breitbart Texas reported.
Editor’s Note: Breitbart Texas traveled to the Mexican States of Tamaulipas, Coahuila, and Nuevo León to recruit citizen journalists willing to risk their lives and expose the cartels silencing their communities.  The writers would face certain death at the hands of the various cartels that operate in those areas including the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas if a pseudonym were not used. Breitbart Texas’ Cartel Chronicles are published in both English and in their original Spanish. OPEN BORDERS: The Democrat Party’s Weapon of Mass Destruction on the American Worker

http://mexicanoccupation.blogspot.com/2016/09/the-la-raza-mexican-crime-tidal-wave.html

"Los Angeles saw all crime rise in 2015: violent crime up 19.9 percent, homicides up 10.2 percent, shooting victims up 12.6 percent, rapes up 8.6 percent, robberies up 12.3 percent, and aggravated assault up 27.5 percent,"Landry said.”

‘I Feel Like the Minority:’ Americans Tell Washington Post They’re ‘Sick’ of Mass Immigration

A handful of Americans residing in Gainesville, Georgia say they’re “sick” of mass immigration to the United States, telling Jeff Bezos’s Washington Post that they “feel like the minority” in their own country.

The Washington Post‘s latest profile by Jenna Johnson interviews nine Americans about their views on immigration. While six of the Americans said they supported amnesty for illegal aliens and didn’t have an issue with current legal immigration levels — the U.S. admits more than 1.5 million immigrants a year — three Americans interviewed for the piece voiced their opposition to the current immigration crisis.
Susan Henthorn, 61-years-old, said her neighborhood is rapidly changing because of immigration and wants to see it stop.
I’m sick of it,” Henthorn, 61, said of immigrants illegally coming to her community, where she has lived for 30 years. [Emphasis added]
“You get tired of it,” said Henthorn, a retired cardiology scrub nurse. “You. Get. Tired. Of. It. I feel like the minority.” [Emphasis added]
Another American, Art Gallegos Jr., said he supported President Trump’s plan to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and wants to see illegal immigration stopped. Gallegos is a first-generation American from Mexico.
A wall could be looked at as something that’s going to prevent you from getting somewhere — or it’s going to protect you from danger, from threats,” said Gallegos, who helped found the city’s Latinos Conservative Organization last year. “It has never been to deter people from reaching the dream.” [Emphasis added]
As Breitbart News has reported, Americans are supportive of Trump’s plan to enact a merit-based immigration system, where legal immigration is reduced by at least half.
Trump’s plan to transform the current U.S. legal immigration system to one that is in keeping with the work of Civil Rights icon Barbara Jordan, who fought for reductions to legal immigration to boost black Americans’ wages and job opportunities.
The massive importation of low-skilled foreign nationals to the U.S. has translated to a cheap labor economy that has aided in keeping American mens’ wages stagnant for at least 44 years, as Breitbart News reported. Median earnings for American men working full-time were actually lower in 2016 than they were in 2007.
As mass immigration has continued, with border surges of illegal immigration occurring over the past few months, wages for American workers have continued to be nearly flat, growing by less than o.5 percent this month.

Study: 100 Mexican Politicians Assassinated Since 2017

As next month’s elections in Mexico approach, a disturbing trend continues with the government’s inability to provide basic security for politicians as the number of those assassinated exceeds 100.

According to statistics compiled by Mexico City-based Etellekt and local media, there were 11 candidates murdered per month from September 8 to May 26, 2018. The updated report indicates that in the last three months, there were three attacks per day related to the electoral process nationwide.
The most recent attack not covered in this report involves the case of Rodrigo Salado, a PRI (Partido Revolucionario Institucional) candidate for alderman in the municipality of San Marcos in Costa Chica de Guerrero, who was murdered by three gunmen who opened fire at the vehicle Salado was traveling in. They were able to flee and remain unidentified.
At least 103 politicians were murdered since the start of the electoral process (including pre-campaigns) and another 112 received threats. In 67 percent of the killings, the victims were attacked by gunmen who specifically targeted them. In 16 percent, victims were found with signs of torture or other methods of extreme violence. Roughly 83 percent of victims were executed with characteristics commonly associated with organized crime hits.
Between September 8, 2017, and May 26 of this year, there were 313 attacks against politicians (an average of three per day), and 44 attacks against family members with a total of 46 relatives murdered. Seventy-two percent of the attacks were directed at opposition politicians, mainly in the central and southern states of the country.
Preparation for the current election cycle began the first week of August 2017 with filing deadlines. The official start of the election process took place on September 8, 2017, with the publication of the electoral calendar.
The election will take place on July 1, 2018, when Mexico elects a new president, 128 senators, 500 federal deputies, and an additional 2,818 local authorities—the largest cumulative ballot in history.
The violence against political figures during the pre- and campaigns is attributed to an attempt by organized crime to influence the elections. In early May, it was reported locallythat at least 1,000 federal and local hopefuls resigned their candidacies citing fears of violence.
At the end of 2017, Breitbart Texas reported the electoral process violence left nine politicians dead.

Mexican Judge Releases Newly Captured ‘Self-Defense’ Leader-Turned Cartel Boss

El Abuelo Returns
   7

A Mexican judge ordered the release of one of the founding leaders of the Self-Defense Movement in Michoacan who allegedly worked as a top lieutenant for with one of the nation’s most violent cartels. The man received a hero’s welcome in his hometown.

In the town of Tepalcatepec, Michoacan, crowds gathered to greet and shake hands with Juan Jose “El Abuelo” Farias, a man who earlier this week was arrested during a special operation by the Mexican military. As Breitbart Texas reported, authorities claimed Farias was a key operator for Mexico’s Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG).
The governor of Michoacan widely praised the arrest, not knowing that in just a few days, El Abuelo would be released.

After the arrest, federal authorities moved Farias to a detention center where he would be formally charged, however, less than two days after, the judge in charge of the case ruled his arrest was illegal and ordered his release.
The judge ruled that the Mexican Navy had not been truthful in the way the arrest was carried out and that other inconsistencies, as well as seven witnesses presented by Farias, were enough to toss the incarceration. The judge also ruled that there was not enough evidence to support the charges against Farias.
The man known as “El Abuelo” gained notoriety during the early days of the self-defense movement in Michoacan where local villagers took up arms against the cartels. It was not known at the time, but El Abuelo was playing both sides as a close member of the criminal organization that eventually became known as Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion.
In February, the Mexican Navy carried out an operation targeting the leader of the Gulf Cartel faction that controlled the border city of Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Three days after that arrest, a Mexican federal judge ruled the arrest was illegal, Breitbart Texas reported.

Surge in Cargo Robberies in Mexico as Crime Hits ‘Levels Never Seen Before’

By Mark Browne | May 30, 2018 | 9:05 PM EDT

Mexico City (CNSNews.com) – Law enforcement agencies in Mexico are severely under resourced to effectively combat a significant surge in highway robbery and train heists in Mexico, according to local and international experts.
This comes amid reports of a 65 percent surge in the number of robberies of cargo trucks in the first quarter of 2018, compared to the same period last year.
“We are in a collapsed state in terms of the state’s ability to investigate the number of crimes,” said Francisco Rivas, director of the citizens’ crime watch group National Citizen Observatory.
The government has not dedicated the funding or resources needed to adequately investigate and prosecute the crimes, he said.
The authorities are also “not doing anything” to trace the goods stolen in heists on Mexico’s highways and railroads, and have failed to shut down the illicit markets where the stolen goods are sold, Rivas said.
A leading business group on Monday called for action to be taken before a new president is sworn in on Dec. 1, following elections scheduled for July 1.
“The urgency of the situation is evident. There is a prevailing need for the authorities not to postpone the reforms that the country needs to live in peace,” COPARMEX said in a posting to its website Monday.
“Violence and crime have reached levels never seen before.”
According to data collected by the supply chain consultancy Sensitech, robberies of tractor trailers moving cargo on Mexico’s highways surged by 65 percent – to 3,346 – in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2017.
The number of robberies has more than doubled compared to the first quarter of 2016, it found.
Most truck robberies happen at night, with the majority occurring along the highway leading from the shipping port of Veracruz on the gulf coast to the country’s center.
“Cargo theft in Mexico shows no sign of abating and in the current criminal environment we can anticipate that it will continue to rise,” the risk consultancy Stratfor said in a compilation of recent highway robbery data for Mexico.
The country has also seen a dramatic rise in train heists, Stratfor analyst Scott Stewart told CNSNews.com. There were 720 cargo heists from trains in the first three months of this year compared to 125 in the same period in 2017.
“That is a very dramatic increase and we have seen some pretty spectacular attacks.”
On May 19, for instance, vandals disconnected hydraulic lines on a train moving cargo in Veracruz, causing the train to lose braking capacity and crash when it reached the city of Orizaba.
On May 8, thieves removed tracks, causing a train to derail in in Acultzingo Veracruz, but were stopped by police from carrying out a robbery of the cargo.
Stewart said businesses are fighting back by using counter surveillance to identify when potential thieves are following trucks on highways. They are also hiding GPS devices in cargo merchandise so it can be tracked after robberies.
Thieves, however, have deployed sophisticated GPS sensors so they can detect and remove the GPS devices.
Most truck robberies (73 percent) are performed by armed criminals, and some drivers have been beaten or killed, Stewart said.
Law enforcement “has so many things demanding their attention right now it is difficult for them to dedicate the resources needed to combat the problem.”
Mexico’s military, deployed by former President Enrique Calderon to fight criminal drug gangs, is no longer providing protection on the country’s highways, according to Mexico City security expert Raúl Benitez.
Federal prosecutorial staff and resources have not grown sufficiently to address the problem of declining security in the country, and state governors are not “assuming their responsibilities” in the fight against crime, he added.
Robberies of trains and gasoline in the state of Guanajuato north of Mexico City have increased significantly and local government lacks necessary police resources and has failed to invest sufficiently in them.
“It’s a big security crisis that’s affecting the population and businesses,” Benitez said in an emailed response to queries.
Rivas said that whoever wins Mexico’s presidential election must make decisions about how to increase Mexico’s crime fighting abilities.
The question is whether a new government will dedicate the necessary resources.
“Time has run out for this government,” COPARMEX said in its posting. “We can’t continue to wait. This is the last call.”

Trump hurts himself with falsehoods on Mexico, border wall, taxes

A year and a half into his presidency, President Trump has a number of accomplishments he can honestly refer to.  He appointed Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, among other accomplished jurists to federal circuit courts.  He has tried to stop the DACA program and increase the apprehension of illegal aliens.  He is in the process of rolling back a number of ridiculous environmental regulations, and he has enacted a great corporate tax cut that is bringing cash abroad back to the U.S.
That's why it's distressing to see the president, in a recent speech, tout accomplishments that are falsehoods:
1. Mexico paying for the wall.  Trump once again said Mexico will pay for his border wall.  A year and a half into his administration, Trump has not even laid out a plan to get Mexico to pay for the border wall, because there is no plan.  By lying to his supporters, Trump disrespects them.
2. Claiming to have passed the largest tax cuts in U.S. history (here at the 13:45 mark).  Trump did not sign the largest tax cuts in U.S. history.  Trump signed a bill authorizing large corporate tax cuts, but his tax cut for individuals was quite small for many, and for some, the marginal rates even increased.  For example, for people making $170,000 a year, the top tax rate was 28% under the old plan; under the plan Trump signed, the top tax rate for that same family making $170,000 is 32%.  That's an incremental increase of 4% in the top tax rate, not the largest tax cut ever.  Most taxpayers will see little or no decrease in their taxes.
3. Saying that construction of his border wall has already begun.  That is not true.  Trump is engaging in replacing some border fencing.  No wall is being built, and no new barriers are being built in places that didn't have barriers to begin with.
Trump hurts himself with these untrue statements by giving the media legitimate ammunition to attack him, and he makes it harder for people to support him when he demonstrates a more equivocal moral character.  When his supporters defend his lies, they also intellectually discredit themselves.  It's a shame he can't stick to his real accomplishments.  For the moment, he's generally a good leader but a flawed one.

San Diego County Released 349 Illegals Wanted by ICE Since ‘Sanctuary State’ Law Began

The Latest: San Diego County mulls 'sanctuary' law action
The Associated Press
      Washington, DC50

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has released over half the people U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) requested since California’s “sanctuary state” law took effect in January.

ICE requested that the San Diego Sheriff’s Department hold 605 incarcerated individuals in the first four-and-a-half months of 2018, a department spokeswoman told the San Diego Union-Tribune. The department released 349 of those individuals without contacting ICE.
For the two years prior to the sanctuary state law going into effect, ICE had picked up 87 percent of the individuals they had requested be held, according to the report.
Under the new law, known as SB 54 or the “California Values Act,” law enforcement officials in California are barred from cooperating with federal immigration officials. That means prison officials are prohibited from telling ICE when prisoners will be released unless they fall into categories specified under SB 54.
ICE arrests in California are down 25 percent in 2018 from the fourth quarter of 2017. The Tribune cited ICE data that showed a decrease from 4,642 to 6,214, compared to a two percent increase in arrests across the nation as a whole.
Among the 349 released individuals were those facing charges for violent crimes, including misdemeanor spousal battery, the Sheriff’s Department told the Tribune. Misdemeanor domestic violence, DUI, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication were reportedly the most common offenses among detainees.
Many California cities and counties are joining a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) lawsuit opposing three of the state’s sanctuary laws, including SB 54.
Not long after U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the lawsuit in early March, for example, the city council members of Orange County city Los Alamitos voted to reject sanctuary laws and join the DOJ lawsuit. The move started a domino effect of cities and counties, largely in Southern California, voting to join the lawsuit as well.
Last week, the city council of northern San Diego County city Carlsbad became the most recent to join others in rejecting California’s sanctuary state laws.

THE ILLEGALS’ AND THEIR CRIME TIDAL WAVE!

Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute has testified before a Congressional committee that in 2004, 95% of all outstanding warrants for murder in Los Angeles were for illegal aliens; in 2000, 23% of all Los Angeles County jail inmates were illegal aliens and that in 1995, 60% of Los Angeles’s largest street gang, the 18th Street gang, were illegal aliens.

California libs enraged at police for cooperating with ICE

California passed a law that was supposed to prevent the police from notifying ICE about illegal aliens in its custody.  The idea is that illegals arrested for crimes could be released without ICE learning about them, like ships passing in the night.
The problem is that sheriffs, by their nature, aren't happy with the idea of illegal aliens, especially illegal aliens who have been convicted of additional crimes, roaming around California on their own.  So some sheriffs in the most liberal places are exploiting a loophole in California's law to let ICE know about the illegal aliens they have in custody.
Marin County Sheriff Robert Doyle is complying with requests from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for the release dates of inmates suspected to be undocumented immigrants [sic].
SB 54 prohibits local law enforcement agencies from supplying inmate release dates to ICE generally.  The law, however, provides two exceptions.  First, if the inmate was convicted of a serious crime or one of several high crime misdemeanors, and second, if the release date is "available to the public."
Soon after SB 54 became law, the Marin County Sheriff's Office began posting the release dates of all inmates on its website.  The Chronicle story notes that Orange, Contra Costa and Alameda counties also began posting the information this year.
Marin, Contra Costa, and Alameda counties are some of the most liberal counties in California.  Marin, just north of San Francisco, is heavily Democratic; Contra Costa County encompasses Richmond, which is so dangerous that it makes San Francisco look safe and law-abiding by comparison; and Alameda encompasses Oakland and Berkeley, which would secede to form a dictatorship of the proletariat if they could.
In February, Canal Alliance, a nonprofit serving San Rafael's predominately Latino neighborhood, issued a report on the Marin County Sheriff's Office's cooperation with ICE after obtaining documents under the California Public Records Act.  The report stated that "the primary way that people find themselves in deportation proceedings is through contact with the local criminal system."
So the Canal Alliance complains that people are deported after having "contact" with the "criminal system."  Essentially, the organization is saying that even repeat criminal illegal aliens should not be deported.
Omar Carrera, Canal Alliance's executive director, said in Marin driving under the influence, domestic violence, and driving without a license are three examples of offenses that people whose release dates have been shared with ICE have committed.
"We're not talking about people who have committed terrible crimes," Carrera said.
Beating your spouse and drunk driving are not terrible crimes?
On Tuesday, Doyle said ICE took 65 to 67 former Marin County inmates into custody in 2017.  According to last week's Chronicle story, from the first of the year to May 1, ICE has requested 61 release notifications from the Sheriff's Office and all but six have been granted, or about 90 percent.  The story said the compliance percentages during roughly the same period were 29 percent for Alameda County and 42 percent for conservative San Diego County.
It's amazing that sheriffs, who are elected, are doing the right thing, even under pressure from the state and the local illegal alien lobby to do otherwise.
