Gallup: Immigration/Illegal Aliens Second-Most Important Problem Facing U.S.
Immigration and Illegal aliens are the number two problem facing the U.S., a new Gallup Poll reveals. The poll showed 14 percent of Americans consider Immigration and Illegal aliens to be the top problem facing the U.S., up four percentage points from May.
Gallup notes that the “14% mentioning immigration is one of the highest levels Gallup has recorded in the past 12 years.”
The poll also shows the number one problem facing the U.S. is dissatisfaction with government (leadership, incompetence, and dysfunction) as 19 percent consider this to be the most pressing problem, down one percentage point from May.
Gallup asked: “What do you think is the most important problem facing this country today? [OPEN-ENDED]”
After the immigration/illegal alien issue, 7 percent said race relations are the most important problem, followed by 4 percent naming gun control, the poll reveals.
Gallup reports that Americans mentioned relatively few problems when asked about the top U.S. issue this month, signaling increased satisfaction with the direction of the U.S.:
"This likely indicates respondents are having difficulty thinking of significant problems facing the country, potentially because of high levels of satisfaction with the direction of the U.S."
Results for this Gallup poll are based on telephone interviews conducted June 1-13, 2018, with a random sample of 1,520 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. The margin of sampling error is ±3 percentage.
Slew of MS-13 Members From El Salvador Charged With Murder of Teenagers in Virginia
The Department of Justice announced murder and kidnapping charges for eleven MS-13 gang members in Alexandria, Virginia Friday morning. All of them are from El Salvador, range in age from 20 to 27-years old and are being prosecuted for the killing of teenagers Edvin Escobar Mendez and Sergio Arita Triminio.
One of the defendants is not in custody and suspected of being out of the country. The other ten are being held in federal detention. Whether the members are in the U.S. illegally is unclear.
"While we note in the press release that all of the defendants are from El Salvador, we did not include any information as to their immigration status," U.S. Attorney’s Office Director of Communications for the Eastern District of Virginia Joshua Stueve tells Townhall.
From DOJ:
According to allegations in the indictment, in August 2016, Elmer Zelaya Martinez, Erick Palacios Ruiz, Ronald Herrera Contreras, and Josue Vigil Mejia conspired together and with others to lure a 17 year-old male [Mendez], who they suspected was a member of a rival gang, to a park in Fairfax County, Virginia, in order to attack and kill him. After killing him and to conceal evidence linking them to the juvenile’s disappearance and murder, these four defendants and their co-conspirators buried the juvenile’s remains. The indictment further alleges that in September 2016, Elmer Zelaya Martinez, Erick Palacios Ruiz, Ronald Herrera Contreras, Henry Zelaya Martinez, Oscar Contreras Aguilar, Yonathan Melgar Martinez, Pablo Miguel Barrera Velasco, Anderson Villatoro, Francisco Avila Avalos, and Fredys Baires Abarca conspired together and with others to lure a 14 year-old male [Triminio] to the same park in Fairfax County where he was attacked and killed because he was thought to be cooperating with law enforcement. This juvenile’s remains were also buried.
Each of the following members face life in prison if convicted.
The charges are part of the Justice Department's ongoing crackdown on the violent, transnational gang. Prosecutors are seeking DOJ approval to charge death eligible offenses.

New Poll: Guess Who the Majority of Voters Blame for Family Separation at the Border?
Despite President Trump signing an executive order allowing adults to be detained with children after crossing into the United States illegally, the outrage over his administration simply enforcing the law continues.
But according to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports, the majority of voters are holding illegal aliens accountable for the current separation crisis, not Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement or President Trump (bolding is mine).
Most voters blame the parents of the separated children at the border for the latest illegal immigration crisis, not the federal government.
When families are arrested and separated after attempting to enter the United States illegally, 54% of Likely U.S. Voters say the parents are more to blame for breaking the law. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 35% believe the federal government.
To help understand the current political debate over the children issue, a closer look shows that 82% of Republicans and 56% of voters not affiliated with either major political party feel the parents are more to blame for breaking the law. But 60% of Democrats say the government is more to blame for enforcing the law.
While the President's executive order allows children to be detained with adults, zero tolerance prosecution for entering the country illegally continues.
In the meantime, Congress is working on a number of immigration bills in an attempt to fix the problem. The House is expected to take a vote Thursday, with moderate and conservative Republicans split on a number of illegal immigration issues.
Migrant Boy Left to Die on Border After Parent’s Smuggler Abandons Him
Federal agents found a 6-year-old boy abandoned at the Arizona border with Mexico by a human smuggler arranged by his parents. Federal officials must decide what to do with a young boy whose parents placed him in a life-threatening situation to have him join them in the United States.
Border Patrol agents found the 6-year-old Costa Rican boy sitting along a dirt road in the middle of the desert during a summer day where temperatures rose in excess of 103 degrees, Breitbart Texas reported Wednesday evening. Border Patrol agents happened upon the child along the dirt road that follows the Mexican border west of the Lukeville Port of Entry, officials told Breitbart Texas. The boy told Border Patrol agents an uncle smuggled him across the border and then abandoned him saying Border Patrol would pick him up, officials stated.
“This incident highlights the dangers faced by migrants at the hands of smugglers,” Border Patrol officials said in a statement provided to Breitbart Texas on Thursday afternoon. “Children, in particular, are extremely vulnerable, not only to exploitation, but also to the elements in the environment.”
Border Patrol officials said the boy will be turned over to immigration officers who will process the child for placement under Unaccompanied Alien Children guidelines. U.S. Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) officials will eventually have to determine what happens with the 6-year-old boy whose life was placed in danger by the apparent decisions of his own parents.
The dangers these parents placed this child in are not unique. Less than one week ago, human smugglers attempting to flee apprehension by Border Patrol agents by driving in excess of 100 miles per hour in a Chevy Suburban loaded with 14 people, including an unaccompanied minor, lost control of the SUV and rolled multiple times. Five people died as a result of the crash and the unaccompanied minor was hospitalized for injuries received, Breitbart Texas reported. Five people were charged in connection with the injuries and deaths.
On June 12, Border Patrol agents rescued five children and two women who were stranded on a small island in the middle of the Rio Grande River near Eagle Pass, Texas. One of the women placed her own two children in the life-threatening situation while the other three children were classified as unaccompanied alien children. The three children did not belong to the second woman in the group.
Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona found two unaccompanied minors locked in an overheated box truck on June 16, Breitbart Texas reported. The minors were being smuggled along with 16 other illegal immigrants. The agents found 18 people locked inside with no means of escape in the event of an accident or overheating. Agents said the truck had no source of light, no water, and no ventilation or air-conditioning.
The dangers to these children do not start at the U.S. border. Parents from Central America turn their children over to cartel-connected human smugglers who move them through Mexico in often hazardous conditions. In April, Mexican authorities found 55 children and 48 adult migrants left to die in an abandoned trailer in the coastal state of Veracruz. Officials said the mostly Guatemalan minors and adults had been left without food or water for at least two days.
Elsewhere, Mexican immigration officials found 88 more from Guatemala in an overcrowded bus in the north-central state of Hidalgo. The bus had a seating capacity for 42 people, officials stated. Forty-five of the 88 migrants were reported to be children accompanied by their relatives — not necessarily parents.
In February, the National Immigration Institute reported the rescue of 40 Hondurans locked inside a cargo truck in Veracruz. The immigration agents found the truck traveling on a “little-traveled road.” Officials said the migrants were suffering signs of dehydration and suffocation as the truck was poorly ventilated.
The agents provided food and water to the “girls, children, and adults” who said they left Honduras and expected to be delivered to the U.S. border where they planned to cross.
Also in February, Mexican immigration agents found 103 migrants just south of the Texas-Mexico Border. Agents found the 36 minors and 65 adults abandoned in a trailer in the border town of Ciudad Camargo, Tamaulipas, south of Rio Grande City, Texas. A military patrol heard the migrants banging on the walls of the trailer. The migrants included unaccompanied children and families from Honduras (91), Guatemala (7), and El Salvador (5).
This fiscal year, which began on October 1, 2017, Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 32,000 unaccompanied minors and nearly 60,000 family units who illegally crossed the border between ports of entry, according to the June Southwest Border Migration Report from CBP officials.
Editor’s Note: After the publication of this article, Breitbart Texas received an updated statement from Border Patrol officials clarifying that the child told agents he was smuggled across the border and abandoned by an uncle. The article has been updated to reflect the new information from Border Patrol officials.

PHOTOS: Inside Shelter for Illegal Alien Children Separated from Parents
The Department of Health and Human Services hosted Breitbart News and other media on a tour of a facility in El Cajon, California, on Friday where migrant children are being sheltered after being separated from their parents.
The children are separated from their parents — or, to be precise, from the adults accompanying them, who may or may not be their parents — when their parents cross the southern U.S. border illegally and are caught and detained.
Previously, under the “catch-and-release” policy, the adults would be released. Under the “zero tolerance” policy of the Trump administration, the adults are being detained and prosecuted. Children cannot be incarcerated with them.
However, families that arrive together at legal ports of entry and apply for asylum status are generally not split up and are permitted to stay in the U.S. pending the adjudication of their applications (which can take several years).
Democrats and the mainstream media have accused the administration of separating the children of “immigrants” from their parents and imprisoning them in “cages.” On Thursday, CNN analyst and Playboy reporter Brian Karem shouted at White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders: “These people have nothing. They come to the border with nothing and you throw children in cages.” None of the reporters in the briefing room corrected him.
The facility at El Cajon, however, is not a “cage.” It is a comfortable facility providing lodging, meals, clothing, medical care, education, recreation, counseling, and other services.
It is run by a nonprofit organization called Southwest Key as part of the Department of Health and Human Services’ Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) Program, run by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) in the Administration for Children and Familes (ACF).
The facility is located on a main street in a quiet, suburban neighborhood. It has 65 beds, occupied by boys ages 6 to 17. The rooms are spare, with three to four beds in each; the boys are responsible for cleaning the rooms and making their own beds. There is an outdoor recreation area with picnic tables and a small soccer pitch.
There is a classroom area, and English lessons. The goal is “reunification”: letting each child depart with a legal guardian.
Some 90% of the children at the shelter arrived at the border without adults; the other 10% were separated from the adults accompanying them. Once the children arrive — usually brought by U.S. Border Patrol agents — they are greeted in the “intake” office, where they receive any urgent medical care, are assigned a case worker, and are given food, a shower, and new clothing. They are also given toiletries and lessons in hygiene — literally how to flush a toilet, brush their teeth, and operate the shower, which some of the children may have never seen in their lives.
The children receive six hours of education daily, which include lessons in English and physical education. The boys interact with girls who are housed offsite and brought to the shelter during the day to access its services.
They have limited access to telephones to call relatives, both in the U.S. and abroad. They receive therapy, both as individuals and in group sessions. They enjoy field trips to local museums, parks, and the zoo, where they can explore the city beyond the shelter. And they also have social activities, including a recent “prom” for which they dressed up.
“Cages,” these are not. What is immediately striking about the facility is the enthusiasm and care of the staff who work there. One administrator greeted the journalists on the tour: “Welcome to our home.” The children at the facility seemed genuinely happy, despite their unfortunate circumstances and the trauma of their long journey.
The real scandal is how the media have portrayed the shelters. When MSNBC’s Jacob Soboroff toured a similar facility this week in Brownsville, Texas, for example, he referredto the children there as being “incarcerated,” which is only true in the same sense that hospital patients, too, are not permitted to leave, for their safety. (One official who had seen Soboroff’s televised report accused him of “flat-out lying” about the facility — such as, for example, reporting on a mural of Donald Trump without noting 19 other presidents were similarly depicted.)
Southwest Key has operated its facilities — 27 in total, across California, Arizona, and Texas — since 1997, when the U.S. Supreme Court decided in Flores v. Reno that unaccompanied illegal alien minors could not be held in detention facilities. This is not a new problem, even though it took Trump to make the media realize it existed.

THE REAL CHILD ABUSERS OF BORDER INSECURITY
The zombie lawsuit causing family separation that never dies.
June 21, 2018
Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical left and Islamic terrorism.
What the media has been falsely calling President Trump’s family separation policy began with Hollywood actor Ed Asner’s housekeeper and a lawsuit by the ACLU during the Reagan administration.
The issue was child trafficking.
Teenage girls were being smuggled into the United States. Some were being sent on to their illegal alien family members in the United States. Others were being sent to the United States as cheap labor or being trafficked for prostitution. People purporting to be family members might show up asking for them to be released into their custody. And immigration authorities were faced with a horrible situation.
The ACLU was less interested in the teens than in Attorney General Edwin Meese. Reagan’s AG was the Sessions of the day. A man whose name so enraged the left-wing group that at one point it circulated petitions demanding that Reagan fire Meese and called him the most dangerous official since Nixon.
Flores v. Meese, the case that led to the family separation policy, was born with Ed Asner's housekeeper and the ACLU's obsession with Meese. But the case, with various AGs replacing Meese, dragged on. And the ACLU went on insisting that refusing to release teenage illegal aliens violated the Constitution.
In ’93, when Jenny Lisette Flores, the girl at the center of the original case, was 23, the Supreme Court finally ruled 7-2 against the ACLU and rejected its bizarre claim that illegal teens had a right to be released. The verdict was brutal and made a hash of the ACLU’s opportunistic misreading of the Constitution.
And that should have been it. But by then it wasn’t Flores v. Meese, but Flores v. Reno.
The Clinton administration then threw the case with what is known as the Flores Settlement in 1997. By then the titular Flores was 27 years old. The settlement required releasing underage illegal aliens into the least restrictive setting. And that meant that they couldn’t be detained alongside illegal alien adults.
The Flores Settlement was the ACLU’s big victory. And the partisan lefty group went on using it to batter successive administrations into loosening conditions on underage detainees. And then, a few weeks ago, the narrative flipped. The “least restrictive conditions” that the left had been fighting for since the eighties suddenly became the worst atrocity since slavery, Japanese internment and the Holocaust.
Holding underage migrants in “least restrictive conditions” meant separating them from their parents.
The media’s defiantly fake news coverage is so bad that it described President Trump’s executive order trying to modify the Flores Settlement, an ACLU sweetheart deal with the Clinton administration, as a retreat. The executive order proposes to detain illegal alien families together, but that may end up violating the Flores Agreement which is why Trump is asking for a modification of the Clinton program.
Flores lawsuits in the past had fought against detaining families together except under least restrictive conditions.
None of this satisfies the left which used the claims of family separation only as a wedge issue to restore the open borders policies of the previous administration. Its goal is to end the detention of illegal aliens.
Despite the media’s claims, this isn’t a new problem.
The supposed 2,300 “children” separated from their families are consistent with past numbers of over 4,000. The real problem is that the floods of illegal aliens overload the resources of INS and now ICE. That’s particularly true when it comes to underage teens and children. And the left also knows that if it can get an illegal alien out of custody, it will be almost impossible to get him or her back into custody.
The Flores Settlement requires detaining illegal alien border crossers separately from any minors coming with them. But if these alleged families are detained together, then the left will accuse the administration of locking up entire families. And indeed, after President Trump’s executive order, the media’s fake news spin is already twisting to accuse a cruel administration of locking up families.
Despite the media’s hysterical innuendo and propaganda, no Republican wants to detain children. The trafficking of children across the border is an open borders problem. It would not exist if the border were secured. And the Democrats have fought against any serious effort to secure the border.
That’s why Flores isn’t going anywhere.
In 2016, Flores v. Lynch was filed. Jenny, the original teenage girl, was now 46 years old. The occasion was the flood of so-called unaccompanied minors in response to Obama’s open border policies.
Once again the flood of illegal aliens overloaded ICE resources. That incarnation of the lawsuit insisted that the Flores Settlement required the government to hold families in the same conditions as the minors. And to expeditiously release both minors and accompanying adults.
That was often the policy of the Clinton administration. But the security measures of 9/11 ended that. And that’s what the protests are really about.
When media activists began posting photos of detained minors under the Obama administration (while misrepresenting them as images taken during the Trump administration) they were really highlighting the consequences of open borders.
Open borders doesn’t mean that everyone gets in. What they really mean is that, much like Europe, a flood of migrants and a lack of meaningful enforcement overwhelms immigration authorities. Many migrants make it through. Some are detained. And the conditions of their detention are often unhappy because immigration authorities don’t have the resources to keep up with the sheer scale of the crisis.
Because border security can’t be entirely dismantled, even by Democrat administrations innately hostile to the idea, the wave of migrants actually ends up increasing the number of those being detained.
It’s not border security, but the lack of it that leads to adults and children being detained in substandard conditions. And Republican bills to improve conditions, detain families together and secure the border are being stifled by Democrats who don’t want border security, but do want to exploit a political crisis.
The right’s preferred solution is border security and the left’s solution of choice is open borders.
Only border security will solve the problem.
The latest incarnations of Flores, who is now pushing 50, would give a free pass to any illegal migrant bringing a child with him into this country. That would be a gift to human traffickers. And that is why the ban on releasing children into the custody of anyone except a legitimate guardian was implemented.
The decades of Flores wars undermined a policy that was there to protect detained minors.
The media has accused Republicans of child abuse. But the Flores campaign enabled child trafficking. And the intended endgame would end all protection for the children being trafficked across the border.
The Flores Settlement was a sweetheart deal with enough loopholes to drive a truck full of migrants through. And the left has spent decades driving trucks through those loopholes. Its latest campaign is only the culmination of decades of twisting border security into insecurity and child protection into abuse.
As the decades roll on, as the original Jenny grows old and retires, the Flores lawsuits will keep on coming. And children will continue to be detained and adults arrested until the border is secured.
President Trump’s signature issue was securing the border with a wall. That’s still the only answer.
Only a wall can end the tide of illegal migrants, the flow of drugs and of human cargo. Only a wall can shut down the detention centers, for adults and children. And only a wall can keep us safe and free.

13 Facts the Media ‘Pros’ Don’t Want You to Know About ‘Family Border Separation’
The fire hose of fake news from the establishment media this week on the issue of illegal immigrant families separated at the border is designed to mislead the American people — and to distract from Trump’s recent successes.
Here are the facts — 13 truths the media do not want you to know about President Trump’s legal, humane, and moral handling of adults and children who enter our country illegally.
- Trump Is Only Enforcing the Law
The establishment media’s manufactured narrative about the necessary and moral separation of illegal alien parents from their children is designed with the specific purpose of spreading the fake news that, only as a means to be cruel, President Trump is somehow making all of this up as he goes along.
In truth, Trump is only complying with and enforcing the law, which is his constitutional duty and responsibility.
When the media claim Trump has a “choice,” what they mean is he has a choice to ignore the law as Obama did when he illegally released untold numbers of illegals into America.
Trump’s “zero tolerance policy” is merely his administration treating all lawbreakers as lawbreakers, because the only other option is to let them loose into America with nothing but a court summons.
- Trump’s Only Choice Is to Separate Illegal Alien Families
When an illegal alien crosses the border into the U.S., he is a lawbreaker, and, like any lawbreaker (including American citizens), he is put into the criminal justice system.
This is the law.
Obviously, when an illegal alien is in custody, he is housed in an adult detention center. For obvious reasons, it would be illegal for Trump to “reunite” this family by allowing children to live in adult detention centers.
Keep in mind that when we are this early in the process, we do not even know if this is a real family unit. It is not uncommon for illegal aliens (including criminals) to pretend the children they are traveling with are their own. They do so in the hope this special family status will result in them being released (this madness is known as “catch and release”) into America with nothing more than a court date — a date many never show for, most especially those with criminal intent.
And so, while the illegal adult is held in an adult detention center, the migrant child is cared for in shelters run by the Department of Health and Human Services.
Generally, the adult illegal is processed quickly, sentenced to time served, and the family is quickly reunited during the deportation process.
In other words, in order to keep the family unit together, we can either put children in adult detention centers (unthinkable), put adults in child detention centers (unthinkable), or hold no one, which means “catch and release,” which means letting even more illegal immigrants loose to live in our country illegally.
The only moral and legal option here is to temporarily separate families while the criminal justice system runs its course.
- The Left Wants Illegal Aliens to Enjoy Privileges Denied to American Citizens
If an American citizen breaks the law and is funneled into the justice system, he is separated from his family and children. This American citizen is not allowed to keep his family with him in a detention center.
Once again, our media want illegal aliens to enjoy special rights and privileges American citizens do not enjoy.
One more point…
These migrants are guilty of walking minor children through miles and miles of desert with the intent of committing a crime (crossing a border illegally).
If you or I walked a child through miles and miles of desert with the intent of committing a crime, child protective services would take our children away (and should).
- Asylum Seekers Not Breaking the Law are Not Being Separated
If you cross the border illegally and claim asylum, you are still a lawbreaker. Regardless of your intent, crossing the border illegally automatically puts you in the criminal justice system, where you will obviously be separated from family.
These asylum seekers are choosing to break the law, are choosing to be separated from family.
Asylum seekers who respect our laws, by turning themselves in at legal points of entry, are not being separated. Over-crowding due to the abuse of this policy might eventually make this impossible, but it is up to Congress to allocate more funds.
- Trump Is Correct About the Loophole
In 1997, a consent decree called the Flores Settlement made it illegal for America to hold migrant children for longer than 20 days. Meaning, in order to keep the family together after 20 days of detention, we can either reunite the family by letting them loose to live illegally in America, or we can keep the parent in detention and place the child in a foster home or with a relative who lives in America.
Trump is wisely choosing to do the latter (for a number of moral reasons I will explain later).
A case involving an illegal border crosser not seeking asylum is usually adjudicated before the 20 days are up, which means the family unit is reunited during deportation and no foster care is needed. This, obviously, is the best case scenario.
Those who cross the border illegally and then claim asylum status (an important distinction from asylum seekers who obey the law) are another story, because the asylum process almost always exceeds the 20 days, and this is the law the Trump administration wants changed.
By speeding up the asylum process, the family unit can be reunited faster, either in the deportation process (if asylum is not granted — and this process is frequently abused) or in the resettlement process (if asylum is granted).
Another option is to end the 20-day limit so foster care does not become necessary. Parent and child can remain in the detention centers until the asylum process is settled.
- “Reuniting” Families Would Be a Disaster for Countless Children
Again, the only way to “keep a family together” is to allow illegals to pour into our country.
This policy would be a total disaster, especially for the children.
If word gets out that America automatically allows illegal border crossers with small children loose into America just because they have minor children, this would only further incentivize those who engage in the child abuse of dragging children along on the unbelievably dangerous trek across the border — or, even worse, both exploiting them for catch-and-release and then trafficking them after making it into the country.
No one who truly cares about these children wants to further incentivize that kind of abuse.
- Obama and Democrats Incentivized This ‘Family Separation’
Until Obama came along, illegal border crossings primarily involved young, single men. Obama incentivized the idea of dragging minor children along on this dangerous journey (where many children are sexually assaulted) through his policy of “catch and release.”
Once word got out that illegals with small children would be let loose into America, the number of children crossing the border exploded.
Again, the last thing decent people want is for the American government to further incentivize the cruel act of bringing small children along on this brutal trip across the border, which is exactly what Trump is hoping to stop with his zero tolerance policy.
- Barack Obama Separated Illegal Alien Families, Media Said Nothing
Under Obama, when illegal border crossers were put into the criminal justice system, families were indeed separated. Obama, of course, rarely prosecuted, even though the law calls for it.
Neither Democrats nor the media cared about family separation then, which proves this manufactured and coordinated uproar is only about politics.
The only reason the media suddenly came to care about family separation is as a means to fabricate a controversy, as a tactic to distract voters from three legitimate news stories from last week that benefit Trump: 1) our economy is booming, 2) Trump had a successful summit with North Korea, and 3) the Inspector General report exposed James Comey’s FBI as a swamp of corruption out to exonerate Hillary Clinton and frame Trump.
- IMPORTANT: The ONLY Way to Unite Families Is to Release Them into America
Obviously, we cannot have children living in adult detention centers. Obviously, we cannot have adults living in child detention centers. Therefore, the only way to “reunite” these families is to release these illegals into our country.
The media will not tell you this because the media do not want you to know that flooding America with non-citizens is their true agenda. The rich and powerful love to exploit and abuse these individuals, as they can leverage their immigration status for illegally low wages, and politicians are salivating at the chance to bestow voting rights on them — and thus entrench their power.
But when you hear the media call for these families to be reunited, remember that is coded language that means only one thing: releasing illegal aliens into our country with nothing more than a court summons.
- Incentivizing the Act of Bringing Minor Children Across the Border Is Evil
The media do not want to inform Americans of one crucial fact: the dangers inherent in crossing the border from Mexico into America, most especially the dangers faced by minor children. Sadly, these dangers too often involve sexual abuse.
Decent people who truly care about these children, like President Trump, want to do everything in their power to end this abuse — either by building a wall, or through this zero tolerance policy that will hopefully curb this abusive practice.
Evil people want these children dragged across the border, want this abuse incentivized by “keeping the family unit together,” because flooding the country with future indebted voters is more important to them than the safety and well-being of small children.
- Those Who Come to America Legally Face ‘Family Separation’
Many people who come to America legally from other countries are separated from family. A big part of America’s LEGAL immigration policy involves family separation when one or two family members come over before the rest are legally or financially able.
And so, once again, we have the media and Democrats demanding special treatment for illegal immigrants that legal immigrants do not enjoy. Once again we are incentivizing lawbreaking and treating the line-jumpers better than those who follow the rules.
- “Family Reunification” Is an Invitation to Human Traffickers
Because of “catch and release,” because of this dumb and destructive loophole carved out for families, the number of illegal aliens using children to enter the U.S. increased by 315 percent between October 2017 and February 2018.
Trump understands what is happening and this is why he has moved to a zero tolerance policy.
Anything other than zero tolerance only serves as an incentive for human traffickers and other criminals to use these children as their free pass into America.
Incentivizing such a thing is monstrous:
- Media Do Not Give a Shit About American Families Separated by Criminal Illegal Aliens
Illegal alien families are choosing to be separated by voluntarily engaging in lawbreaking. These illegal alien families, if they so choose, can stay together, simply by obeying the law.
This is not hard.
Those who do not have a choice in family separation are the legions of American families permanently separated from family members when that family member is killed at the hands of an illegal alien.
As Steve Bannon accurately pointed out over the weekend, “I don’t see the mainstream media and the liberal left embracing the Angel Moms, those people who were permanently separated from their children because of illegal aliens who came over here and committed crimes and killed people. You’re being very selective.”
Leftists Gamble on Belief Americans Oppose Family Detention, But That is a Losing Bet
For weeks, the myth-fueled media coverage of the Trump administration’s “zero-tolerance” policy focused on children being separated from their parents after attempting to enter the U.S. illegally. The public relations offensive mounted by open borders advocates resulted in President Trump taking executive action to address family separation at the border.
Trump’s Executive Order moved to bring about a solution to a burgeoning crisis fairly quickly, but not quickly enough to keep pace with the moving goal posts of his open border caucus.
Surely, critics would embrace any proposal to ensure children were no longer “being ripped from their mothers” or “torn out of the arms” of their fathers.
When Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) introduced narrowly-written “emergency legislation” intended to keep illegal immigrant families together as their cases were processed, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) was not satisfied.
“The president alone can fix it with a flick of a pen by signing a presidential order to end the agonizing screams of small children who have been separated from their parents,” Schumer said on Tuesday.
And when he did, Schumer again was unsatisfied.
“It seems that the administration lacks a plan, intention, and a sense of urgency to begin reuniting these children — many of whom have suffered serious emotional anguish — with their parents,” said Schumer in a letter to Trump that was co-written with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi, in her own press release, proclaimed from her high horse that “instead of protecting traumatized children, the President has directed his Attorney General to pave the way for the long-term incarceration of families in prison-like conditions.”
It seemed with the swipe of the presidential pen, the goalposts had been moved. It was not about separating families, it has always been about detaining families or any individual who has entered the U.S. illegally.
Amnesty advocates may believe the American people are equally opposed to family detention, but they would be wrong.
A new poll conducted by The Economist and YouGov shows overwhelming support for the administration’s other immigration actions.
Yes, there was public opposition to the practice of separating families – a mere 18 percent strongly approved and 14 percent somewhat approved of separating children from their parents or guardians.
The same cannot be said for family detention. Asked how illegal alien families should be handled, a majority (43 percent) said to “hold families together in family detention centers until an immigration hearing at a later date.”
And half of all Americans (32 percent strongly approved and 18 percent somewhat approved) are in favor of “the new federal policy to arrest and send to jail anyone who crosses the border into the United States without proper documentation.”
Similar findings were shown in a June Politico/Morning Consult online poll. That survey found 49 percent of registered voters backed referring for prosecution those who are found illegally entering the United States from Mexico.
Immigration is a complicated issue – and so are Americans’ views on it.

How the Democrat party surrendered America to Mexico:

The “zero tolerance” program was dismantled by Attorney General Erc Holder once it had successfully cut the transit of migrants by roughly 95 percent. Initially, officials made 140,000 arrests per year in the mid-2000s, but the northward flow dropped so much that officials only had to make 6,000 arrests in 2013, according to a 2014 letter by two pro-migration Senators, Sen. Jeff Flake and John McCain.
“The cost of the Dream Act is far bigger than the Democrats or their media allies admit. Instead of covering 690,000 younger illegals now enrolled in former President Barack Obama’s 2012 “DACA” amnesty, the Dream Act would legalize at least 3.3 million illegals, according to a pro-immigration group, the Migration Policy Institute.”
