Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute has testified before a Congressional committee that in 2004, 95% of all outstanding warrants for murder in Los Angeles were for illegal aliens; in 2000, 23% of all Los Angeles County jail inmates were illegal aliens and that in 1995, 60% of Los Angeles’s largest street gang, the 18th Street gang, were illegal aliens. Granted, those statistics are old, but if you talk to any California law enforcement officer, they will tell you it’s much worse today.

ICE Just Arrested Dozens of Illegal Aliens in a Sanctuary City, the Majority Have Serious Criminal Records
Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an agency many Democrats want to abolish, recently conducted a raid in Newark, New Jersey and arrested dozens of illegal aliens. The overwhelming majority have serious criminal records.
ICE targeted Illegal aliens who had been incarcerated in the Middlesex County Jail and released into the community by local law enforcement without notice to federal immigration officials. The aliens arrested had ICE detainers that were not honored. Newark is a "sanctuary city."
"Of those arrested, 16 subjects had been previously released by MCJ without honoring the ICE detainer and 78% had prior criminal convictions or pending criminal charges. The individuals arrested as part of the operation were nationals of Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, and Turkey," ICE released Friday. "These individuals range from 21 to 68 years old and all were previously arrested or convicted of a variety of offenses. Some of the arrests and convictions included: aggravated criminal sexual contact, aggravated assault, DUI, hindering apprehension, endangering the welfare of a child, battery, theft, burglary, possession of a weapon, forgery, domestic violence assault, disorderly conduct, and illegal entry."
ICE also provided additional details on the individuals released by Middlesex County Jail. Here are a few (bolding is mine):
A 32-year-old citizen of Mexico was arrested by the New Brunswick Police Department on August 12, 2016, in Middlesex County for Aggravated Sexual Assault- Helpless Victim, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact, Sexual Assault-Force/Coercion, and Criminal Sexual Contact and booked into the Middlesex County Jail. On August 16, 2016, ICE issued a detainer. On May 18, 2018, he was convicted of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact and sentenced to 644 days’ time served, parole supervision for life and registration under Megan’s Law. On May 21, 2018, Middlesex County Jail refused to honor the detainer and he was released.

A 68-year-old citizen of Mexico was arrested by the Perth Amboy Police Department on January 23, 2009, in Middlesex County for the crimes of murder–purposely and hinder prosecution-false info and was booked into the Middlesex County Jail. On June 14, 2011, he was convicted of aggravated manslaughter and hinder own prosecution-false info and was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment in state prison. On May 5, 2015, the subject was transferred from state prison back to the custody of the Middlesex County Jail as he appealed his convictions. On May 5, 2015, ICE issued a detainer to Middlesex County Jail. On May 22, 2018, the original charge was overturned and he was found guilty of a single felony charge of hindering-oneself-give false information and sentenced to time served.  Even though an ICE detainer was previously issued he was released.

A 27-year-old citizen of the Dominican Republic was arrested by the Perth Amboy Police Department on January 25, 2018, in Middlesex County for aggravated assault - significant bodily injury to a victim of domestic violence, criminal restraint – hold victim, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and booked into the Middlesex County Jail. On January 30, 2018, ICE issued a detainer, but the detainer was not honored and he was released.
“ERO [Enforcement and Removal] New Jersey will continue to enforce ICE’s commitment to public safety,” Acting Field Office Director of ERO in Newark Ruben Perez released in a statement. “Middlesex county, which aspires to be a ‘sanctuary county’ by protecting criminal aliens, in the process assists criminals in undermining federal law, and creates a dangerous environment in the community. It also overburdens local law enforcement. ICE will continue to execute its mission in such communities.”

U.S. Election Meddling: Nationwide Voter Fraud, Importation of 15M Foreign-Born Voters

US Voting
Shelby Lum, Richmond Times-Dispatch via The Associated Press
 Washington, D.C.2,070

As the establishment media, GOP, and Democrats fret over the influence foreign countries have on U.S. elections, the leading threats to the American electorate remain nationwide voter fraud and mass immigration.

Though President Trump’s administration sought to thoroughly investigate voter fraud through the Presidential Commission on Election Integrity, the board was handed off to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in order to bypass obstruction from national Democrats who refused to turn over voter data.
Voter Fraud
The number of convictions against voter fraud continues to rise, with now nearly 940 criminal convictions on the books across the U.S., according to the latest data from the Heritage Foundation.
Likewise, the number of cases of voter fraud has risen. Heritage’s Voter Fraud Database now features 1,071 cases of voter fraud that spans across 47 states.
In the most recent study by the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) on voter fraud, the think tank found 8,471 high likely cases of double voting. About 7,271 of those cases were inter-state double voting, while the remaining 1,200 cases were of intra-state double voting.
“The probability of correctly matching two records with the same name, birthdate, and social security number is close to 100 percent,” the GAI report noted.
Kansas Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Kris Kobach is fighting in his state to enforce voting laws that would mandate voters  prove their U.S. citizenship. This effort has currently been halted by the left-wing ACLU organization and a circuit judge who recently claimed that it was unconstitutional for a state to demand voters provide their U.S. citizenship records. Years ago, proof of citizenship voting laws were upheld as fully constitutional.
“Compare [Russia meddling in the 2016 presidential campaigns] to the kind of foreign influence in the actual election numbers in foreign nationals voting,” Kobach told Breitbart News. “That’s real and much more consequential and it’s happening all over the country.”
Kobach said his expert witness in the suit with the ACLU over the proof of citizenship law revealed that as many as 33,000 foreign nationals are on the voter rolls in Kansas. For states like California, with the largest foreign-born population in the country, the number of foreign nationals on the voter rolls is likely in the hundreds of thousands or even the millions, Kobach says.
Mass Immigration
Similarly, mass legal and illegal immigration to the U.S. continues to be the largest driver of population increases and demographic shifts in the country. Every year, more than 1.5 million immigrants are admitted to the country. The U.S. has imported more than ten million immigrants in the last decade.
The vast majority of foreign nationals arrive through the process known as “chain migration,” where newly naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the U.S. Every two new immigrants to the country bring an additional seven foreign relatives with them.
As Breitbart News has extensively reported, the U.S. is on track to import about 15 million foreign-born voters by the year 2038. That is nearly quadruple the size of the annual number of U.S. births; about four million American babies are born every year.
Through chain migration alone, the U.S. will import about eight million foreign-born voters in the next two decades.
The country’s continued mass immigration policies are likely to hand over electoral dominance to Democrats in statewide and national elections, Breitbart News has noted.
Analysis conducted by Axios’s Chris Canipe and Andrew Witherspoon shows the overwhelming trend of foreign-born populations voting Democrats into office over Republicans.
The victory of socialist Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York’s 14th District is the latest case where a booming foreign-born voting population pushed the far-left activist over the edge to beat out establishment, high ranking Democrat Rep. Joe Crowley.
Ocasio-Cortez’s district is close to 50 percent foreign-born, a drastic shift of an area that was once populated primarily by native-born Americans. Ocasio-Cortez ran her congressional campaign on abolishing all immigration enforcement across the U.S.
In California, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is facing a challenge from State Senator Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles), and the California Democratic Party has endorsed León. The far-left challenger was the key proponent of California’s sanctuary state law that protects criminal illegal aliens from being deported.
University of Maryland, College Park researcher James Gimpel has found in recent years that more immigrants to the U.S. inevitably means more Democrat voters and thus, increasing electoral victories for the Democratic Party.
In 2014, Gimpel’s research concluded with three major findings:
  • Immigrants, particularly Hispanics and Asians, have policy preferences when it comes to the size and scope of government that are more closely aligned with progressives than with conservatives. As a result, survey data show a two-to-one party identification with Democrats over Republicans.
  • By increasing income inequality and adding to the low-income population (e.g. immigrants and their minor children account for one-fourth of those in poverty and one-third of the uninsured) immigration likely makes all voters more supportive of redistributive policies championed by Democrats to support disadvantaged populations.
  • There is evidence that immigration may cause more Republican-oriented voters to move away from areas of high immigrant settlement leaving behind a more lopsided Democrat majority.
Years ago, only a handful of elected Democrats would mention how the demographic shift spurred by mass immigration was a benefit to Democrats electorally. Today, it is a widely used talking point of elected Democrats.
Take San Antonio, Texas Mayor Julian Castro, for example. Months ago, Castro admitted that immigration could potentially turn the state of Texas, Florida, and Arizona into Democrat strongholds, like California.

“The Democrats have now become very open about what they are doing and they state it very clearly,” Kobach said of the Democrats’ use of immigration for shifting the electorate.
“Now, multiple Democrats are saying their plan is to import new voters to change elections,” Kobach said.
In an analysis from Georgetown University, the University of California, and Banque de France, researchers discovered that immigration to the country continuously increases Democrats’ chances of winning elections:
On average across election types, immigration to the U.S. has a significant and negative impact on the Republican vote share, consistent with the typical view of political analysts in the U.S. [Emphasis added]
This average effect – which is driven by elections in the House – works through two main channels. The impact of immigration on Republican votes in the House is negative when the share of naturalized migrants in the voting population increases. Yet, it can be positive when the share of non-citizen migrants out of the population goes up and the size of migration makes it a salient policy issue in voters’ minds. [Emphasis added]
These results are consistent with naturalized migrants being less likely to vote for the Republican Party than native voters and with native voters’ political preferences moving towards the Republican Party because of high immigration of non-citizens. This second effect, however, is significant only for very high levels of immigrant presence. [Emphasis added]
In 2016, the legal and illegal immigrant population reached a record high of 44 million. By 2023, the Center for Immigration Studies estimates that the legal and illegal immigrant population of the U.S. will make up nearly 15 percent of the entire U.S. population.
Mexico has the largest group of legal and illegal foreign nationals in the U.S., with 1.1 million immigrants from the country arriving in the U.S. between 2010 and 2016. Mexican nationals make up roughly one in eight new arrivals to the U.S. On average, every one Mexican immigrant brings six foreign relatives with them to the country through chain migration.

Democrats’ Lack of Support for ICE Could Hurt in Midterms

July 19, 2018 8:11 pm Last Updated: July 19, 2018 8:11 pm
WASHINGTON—Democrats’ failure to get behind a House resolution to support Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel has made the midterm election battle “immensely harder for themselves,” said Steve Cortes, a CNN political commentator and head of presidential candidate Donald Trump’s 2016 Hispanic advisory council.
H.Res.990, “Supporting the officers and personnel who carry out the important mission of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” was introduced on July 11 by Rep. Clay Higgins (R–La.) and passed with a 244–35 vote on July 18.
The non-binding resolution expresses support for ICE agents and denounces the calls to abolish the agency. It also supports all federal, state, and military personnel “who bring law and order to our nation’s borders.”
A lone Republican, Justin Amash (R–Mich.), voted against the resolution, along with 34 Democrats.
A further 133 Democrats noted they were present, but didn’t vote. Eight Republicans and eight Democrats did not attend the vote.
Cortes called the actions of the 133 Democrats that voted present “incredibly cowardly.”
“At least have the guts to go on the record and say you don’t support ICE, if you don’t,” he said. “I don’t think it’s illogical or unreasonable for us to presume that the 133—because they were unwilling to join the affirmation of ICE—that they at least implicitly were telling us that they don’t support ICE, but they didn’t have the guts to actually say it.”
Cortes said that historically, the first midterms in a new presidency can be “disastrous” for the incumbent party, giving the examples of former presidents Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama.
He said the House vote now puts to paper where the Democrats stand and it will “100 percent” impact the midterms.
“The thing is, the Democrats have a lot going for them in terms of the midterms. The anti-Trump forces are incredibly energized,” Cortes said.
But if Democrats embrace the “far-left, radical open borders agenda of people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, [New York City] Mayor de Blasio, and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.)—if they want to run on that vision—then I think that the … Trump coalition will be energized to come out and defeat them, he said.”
Trump, who has been a firm supporter of ICE and law enforcement, responded to the passage of the resolution, in a tweet on July 19.
“The Democrats have a death wish, in more ways than one‚—they actually want to abolish ICE. This should cost them heavily in the Midterms. Yesterday, the Republicans overwhelmingly passed a bill supporting ICE!” Trump wrote.

ICE Operations

ICE was created in 2003, in the aftermath of 9/11, through a merger of the investigative and interior enforcement elements of the former U.S. Customs Service and the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
The agency operates under the Department of Homeland Security and has more than 20,000 agents in more than 400 offices in the United States and 46 foreign countries, according to its website.
It has a broad focus, from investigations into gangs, drugs, and cross-border crime such as child sex trafficking, to anti-terrorism investigations, as well as being responsible for the removal of immigration violators in the United States.
The House resolution details the results of ICE operations in fiscal year 2017, including the arrests of 127,000
aliens with criminal convictions or charges. The criminal aliens were responsible for more than 76,000 dangerous drug offenses, 48,000 assault offenses, 11,000 weapon offenses, 5,000 sexual assault offenses, 2,000 kidnapping offenses, and 1,800 homicide offenses.
“Abolishing ICE would mean that countless illegal aliens who could pose a threat to public safety would be
allowed to roam free instead of being removed from American soil,” the resolution states.
ICE also identified or rescued 904 sexually exploited children and 518 victims of human trafficking in fiscal 2017, according to the resolution.

Radical Territory

Cortes said that Democrats have veered into far-left, radical territory in their continual criticism of ICE and their calls for its elimination.
“And [it’s] not from just fringe figures anymore, but from sitting U.S. senators, from the mayor of our largest city,” he said.  “The more we take the masks off Democratic activists and politicians, the more we see the reality is that they’re proponents of open borders, and they put the interests of illegal immigrants in front of the interests of American citizens.”

He pointed to an interview published on July 18 in which Keith Ellison, deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee, said that it is unfair that corporations can seek out cheaper labor in other countries, but “people, regular people, cannot go back and forth across the border seeking out the highest wages.”
“So what it creates is an imbalance, it creates injustice,” Ellison said.
Cortes said Ellison’s view is not just a fringe idea anymore, but it’s held by only a small minority of Americans.
“Somehow, in their twisted vision, they believe so much in globalism and they resent any semblance of American nationalism that they’ve gone to an incredibly absurd, polar extreme the other way—where America essentially has no rights to determine citizenship, to enforce borders,” Cortes said.
He said the left tries to demonize ICE agents as though they are “a bunch of white thugs looking to terrorize brown people.”
“The reality couldn’t be further from that myth,” Cortes said, adding that the percentage of Hispanic agents who work for ICE is higher than for any other federal agency.

Acting Director for Immigration and Customs Enforcement Ron Vitiello speaks at the agency’s headquarters in Washington on July 6, 2018. (Samira Bouaou/The Epoch Times)

Acting ICE Director Ron Vitiello issued a statement saying he is grateful to the members of Congress who “publicly declared their support for the brave, dedicated men and women of ICE.”
“ICE plays a critical role in protecting public safety and our national security, from combating the illegal drug trade to removing public safety threats from our communities,” Vitiello said. “Our workforce continues to carry out their important mission, and we will not be deterred by threats against our agency.”

Massachusetts Sanctuary Policies Freed Hundreds of Criminal Aliens

(Screenshot)
report prepared by ICE's Boston field office illustrates the nature of ICE's criminal alien caseload in that state, and reveals the public safety problems created by court-imposed and locally adopted sanctuary policies. According to the report, over a 10-week period in the spring of 2018, 456 deportable criminal aliens were arrested in Massachusetts for a wide variety of state crimes. However, ICE was able to get custody of only about half of these criminal aliens, either because local agencies did not honor ICE's detainers or otherwise cooperate with ICE, or because the local agency released the criminal aliens before ICE could issue a detainer. The report provides several chilling examples of offenders who were freed by local authorities, including some who had committed horrific crimes, and including some who were released in Lawrence, Mass., a sanctuary city that has drawn attention for its role as a hub for opioid distribution in New England.
Over the period studied (March 19 to May 30, 2018), Boston ICE officers identified 456 aliens who were arrested on state or local charges and who were determined to be "immediately amenable" to ICE arrest. These "hits" resulted from the electronic sharing of fingerprints through the Secure Communities program, and correspond to the subset of aliens that ICE can identify as likely deportable, such as those lacking legal status, violating legal status, fugitives, or prior deportees. It does not include those who, for example, have not yet been convicted of a crime that might make them deportable, such as green card holders awaiting trial. Nor does it include illegal alien suspects who have never been in contact with immigration authorities and whose fingerprints therefore are not in DHS databases.
ICE responded to the 456 hits in the following ways:
  • 216 cases resulted in the issuance of an ICE detainer and arrest warrant. These aliens had committed crimes including rape, assault, firearms possession, drug distribution and trafficking, drug possession, OUI, domestic violence, property crimes, and motor vehicle offenses. But the report states that in about half of these cases, the local jails will release aliens on bail without notification to ICE, and the aliens are back on the streets.
  • 130 of the aliens were released from custody before ICE could act. These cases were referred to ICE fugitive teams.
  • 110 of the cases were referred to the ICE Criminal Alien Program (CAP) officers, who arrest incarcerated aliens in local jails.
These figures demonstrate the significant adverse effect of state and local sanctuary policies on ICE's ability to remove criminal aliens. The sum of 110 aliens referred to the CAP program and half of the 216 who were subject to detainers that were honored (108) is a total of 218 criminal aliens out of 456. This is only about 48 percent of all deportable criminal aliens that ICE was aware of, that could be readily apprehended and put on the path to removal.
That's a problem for public safety. Yesterday, in a speech on combating the opioid epidemic, Attorney General Jeff Sessions called out Lawrence, Mass., one of the most egregious of the state's sanctuary cities, noting that the policies protect the criminal alien drug traffickers who supply opioids in the region. Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivera called this a "fabrication" and said that he is considering suing the attorney general for libel. He said that the city notifies ICE of every criminal alien. Rivera grossly misrepresented the city's ordinance, which prohibits Lawrence police officers from notifying ICE about any criminal aliens.
The ICE report gives nine examples of criminal aliens who were set free by sanctuary policies. Among them:
  • In April 2017, a citizen of the Dominican Republic who had been previously deported after convictions for violent and drug crimes was arrested for the rape of a Boston College student who was his Uber passenger. Despite an ICE detainer and discussion of his deportability in court, the judge granted bail of $2,500 and allowed the alien to be released and abscond without notice to ICE. He is still at large.
  • In December 2017 a citizen of Guatemala was arrested in Lynn, Mass., for armed assault to murder and other charges, but was released by the Essex County sheriff despite an ICE detainer and arrest warrant. He was later located by Boston ICE officers.
  • In January 2018, the Worcester, Mass., district court released two citizens of the Dominican Republic who had been arrested for possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine, despite ICE detainers. Both are still at large.
  • In February 2018, a citizen of Guatemala who was in removal proceedings was arrested for armed robbery in Lawrence, Mass., but released by the court, and remains at large. Also in February, the same court released another alien identified as a fugitive, who had been arrested for domestic violence. This alien also remains at large.
  • In April 2018, a visa overstayer from Ghana was arrested and charged with raping his Uber passenger. Prior to transferring the man to the county jail, the Quincy District Court officers refused to allow ICE officers to speak with him, and did not forward the ICE detainer and arrest warrant to the county jail. The suspect was later released (without notifying ICE), and was asked to return to surrender his passport, but instead he departed for Ghana the next day.
  • In May 2018, a previously deported alien from El Salvador slashed the throat of a woman in Chelsea, Mass. The Chelsea police identified the suspect as an illegal alien, but declined to contact ICE. Instead, the U.S. Marshals contacted ICE to obtain information on the suspect and were then able to prepare a warrant for assault with intent to murder and subsequently arrested the suspect in Maryland.
The report also provides a breakdown of the immigration status of the criminal aliens identified. These statistics show that ICE issued detainers on less than half the removable aliens identified by Secure Communities fingerprint-matching (216 out of 456). Clearly, the program is far from the overzealous detention dragnet that the program's critics claim it is.
ICE was most likely to issue a detainer in the case of criminals who were prior deportees, violating terms of their release, or who had already been ordered removed by an immigration judge. ICE was less likely to file a detainer seeking custody in the case of criminal aliens who had yet to face immigration court proceedings.
A conference committee of six Massachusetts legislators is currently locked in discussions to resolve differences in the annual state budget bill, which this year includes language passed in the Senate that would impose an extreme sanctuary policy statewide, including prohibiting law enforcement agencies from honoring ICE detainers and prohibiting use of any local resources to cooperate with ICE. Lawmakers have been unable to agree on language needed to respond to a 2017 Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision prohibiting compliance with ICE detainers.
Governor Charlie Baker has pledged to use his line-item veto to block the state senate sanctuary provision, but could also try to insert his own sanctuary-lite proposal that would allow detainers to be honored only in the most serious criminal cases, and only for 12 hours, which is an unreasonably short period for ICE to act. Baker's proposal is a misguided attempt to split the difference between the demands of extreme sanctuary proponents and full cooperation with ICE, which is standard and prudent law enforcement practice in most of the United States. But this is not a split-the-difference issue. State and local law enforcement agencies must be permitted to cooperate with ICE all the time, just as they do with all other state and federal law enforcement agencies. It is not up to state lawmakers to micromanage or second-guess which criminal aliens will be subject to immigration enforcement; that is an infringement on the federal government's authority. More importantly, as painfully illustrated by ICE's report, such interference with immigration enforcement results in the unnecessary release of criminal aliens who pose a threat to the public, and who should be sent back to their home countries instead of back to our communities.

Senate Democrats Push National Catch-and-Release Bill

Senate Democrats are rallying behind a “family reunification” bill which promises a policy of catch-and-release for nearly all migrants who bring their children over the border.

The bill would allow the migrant parents to stay in the United States until their children’s legal pleas are finally resolved. That legal stay could last for several years if the courts’ existing two-year backlog of 700,000 cases is increased by many migrants eager to accept the Democrats’ catch-and-release invite.
The bill would also allow more migrants to simply walk away from courtroom hearings and into the nation’s population of at least 11 million illegal migrants.
“Only about 5 percent of the people [who are] released [from detention] ultimately end up being removed, even if they get a final order of removal for immigration purposes,” Kevin McAleenan, head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, said July 17. In contrast, when migrants are kept in custody, he said:
Immigration processing can be done fairly and relatively quickly [and] the detain docket for the immigration courts moves in about 45 days on average …. for those in ICE custody.
When migrants are released, the legal process is lengthened and many migrants disappear, so wrecking law enforcement. McAleenan said:
 It is really that in-custody docket, move in 45 days, that actually creates an immigration system where we have a rule of law, and we don’t have that if we are releasing people.
The Reunite Every Unaccompanied Newborn Infant, Toddler and Other Children Expeditiously (REUNITE) Act, is sponsored by California Sen. Kamala Harris, Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley, and Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto. The bill is needed, they say, to stop President Donald Trump from sending migrants’ children to government shelters so their parents can be detained until their immigration and asylum cases are heard.
“This is a crisis created by this administration and has resulted in thousands of children being ripped from their mothers and fathers,” Harris said July 17. “Government should be in the business of keeping families together not tearing them apart.”
“Trump’s policy to deliberately inflict trauma on the children of families fleeing persecution is a dark and evil deed,” said Merkley. The bill would “treat these families with respect and decency as they await their hearing on their asylum claims,” he said.
The bill “would require the Trump administration to immediately reunite separated children with their parents, ensure that separated children have access to legal counsel … [and ensures] families are not detained as they pursue legal avenues of relief,” said Cortez Masto.
Current laws bar officials from keeping children in detention with their illegal-immigrant parents for more than 20 days. The deadline is far less than the 45 days that McAleenan says are needed to complete the legal process.
That 20-day limit is recognized by cartels and by the migrants who bring children with them to trigger catch-and-release rules. For example, the New York Times reported June 22:
“This is the reason I brought a minor with me,” said Guillermo T., 57, a construction worker who recently arrived in Arizona. Facing unemployment at home in Guatemala, he decided to head north; he had been told that bringing his 16-year-old daughter would assure passage. He asked that only his first named be used to avoid consequences with his immigration case.
“She was my passport,” he said of his daughter.
The bill would also bar the use of DNA technology to verify migrants’ claim to be parents of the children and would redirect funds from enforcement programs to fund the extra immigration inflow.
The backlog of asylum cases is now 700,000, and many take more than two years to complete. In 2017, officials awarded 400,000 work permits to people waiting for asylum hearings.  The migrant inflow of cheap labor and extra consumers is praised by business groups and progressives.
Currently, four million Americans turn 18 each year and begin looking for good jobs in the free market — but the government provides green cards to roughly 1 million legal immigrants and temporary work-permits to roughly 3 million foreign workers.
The Washington-imposed economic policy of economic growth via mass-immigration shifts wealth from young people towards older people by flooding the market with foreign labor. That process spikes profits and Wall Street values by cutting salaries for manual and skilled labor offered by blue-collar and white-collar employees. The policy also drives up real estate priceswidens wealth-gaps, reduces high-tech investment, increases state and local tax burdens, hurts kids’ schools and college education, pushes Americans away from high-tech careers, and sidelines at least 5 million marginalized Americans and their families, including many who are now struggling with opioid addictions.

Abolishing ICE Would Free 1.4M Criminal Illegal Aliens, Triple Population of Miami

Abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency — which is responsible for arresting and deporting criminal illegal aliens — would have released more than 1.4 million criminal illegal aliens into American communities in the last half decade.

Analysis conducted by Breitbart News reveals that had ICE  been eliminated five years ago, there would have been about 1,406,051 criminal illegal aliens released into the American public rather than being arrested and deported.
This is a criminal illegal alien population that is more than triple the population of Miami, Florida.
Most recently, House and Senate Democrats have made abolishing ICE and all immigration enforcement part of their unofficial platform ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.
On Wednesday, nearly 170 House Democrats voted against or “present” on a resolution praising and thanking ICE for their law enforcement duties in combatting crime, human trafficking, and drug smuggling.
Had ICE been abolished five years ago, more than 605,000 criminal illegal aliens arrested by the agency would have been freed into the U.S. Another 800,500 criminal illegal aliens would have been able to evade deportation and released back into American neighborhoods.
Just in the last year, had ICE been abolished as Democrats have sought, more than 233,000 criminal illegal aliens would have been released into the U.S. rather than being held in detainment or deported from the country.
Altogether, as Breitbart News previously reported, abolishing ICE a half decade ago would have freed 1.6 million illegal aliens into American communities.

Americans — even Democrat voters — are by a vast majority opposed to abolishing ICE. In the latest Harvard/Harris Poll3-in-4 swing voters said they opposed the Democrats’ plan to end all immigration enforcement across the U.S.
Likewise, nearly 60 percent of Democrats said they do not want ICE to be disbanded.
Meanwhile, ahead of the midterm elections, a majority of white, black, and Hispanic Americans say the U.S. needs stricter immigration enforcement as Trump has implemented.

 House GOP Pins 167 Democrats With ‘Abolish ICE’ Vote

Abolish ICE

GOP legislators wrapped the unpopular “Abolish ICE!” campaign around House Democrats on Wednesday, by forcing a floor vote where 167 Democrats abstained or voted against a resolution praising the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Democratic leaders protested and denounced the resolution, which was passed by 226 GOP votes. “This is the equivalent of fiddling while Rome is burning … It is a meaningless stunt,” said Democratic Rep. Ralph Nadler. “We have more important things to do.”
Democrats are under growing pressure from their progressive base to block ICE’s popular immigration reforms. But that is electoral poison, so Democratic leaders have been trying to shift attention back to higher priorities issues such as healthcare.
Only 18 Democrats voted for the GOP’s pro-enforcement resolution, while 34 Democrats voted against the resolution and 133 abstained by voting “present” in the hope of minimizing the blowback from ordinary voters or the progressive base.
The vote was an easy option for the GOP leaders, partly because it focuses voters’ attention on illegal immigration and away from the much bigger inflow of legal immigrants. Legal immigration is far more important for Americans worried about their jobs, salaries, and neighborhoods, but the GOP’s leaders receive much funding from business groups which gain from the annual inflow of 1 million legal workers, consumers, and renters.
GOP leaders made the most of their political opportunity:

I am proud to . Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents protect our communities from terrorism, human trafficking, illegal drugs, and gang violence. It's deeply concerning that House Democrats refuse to stand up for American national security over open borders.

“What does the resolution do? It simply says we stand behind our ICE agents, those brave men and women who are keeping America safe,” said Lousiana Rep. Steve Scalise, the GOP’s whip. “Are we for open borders? Absolutely not!” he said. “Any other vote [than yes] is a vote for open borders.”
The resolution, by Lousiana Rep. Clay Higgins, listed the successes of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in 2017 and declared:
That the House of Representatives—
(1) expresses its continued support for all United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers and personnel who carry out the important mission of ICE;
(2) denounces calls for the complete abolishment of ICE; and
(3) supports the efforts of all Federal agencies, State law enforcement, and military personnel who bring law and order to our Nation’s borders.
The justification for the resolution was included in the preamble:

Whereas the national security interests of the United States are dependent on the brave men and women who enforce our Nation’s immigration laws;

Whereas abolishing the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would mean open borders because it would eliminate the agency responsible for removing people who enter or remain in our country illegally;

Whereas calls to abolish ICE are an insult to these heroic law enforcement officers who make sacrifices every day to secure our borders, enforce our laws, and protect our safety and security;
Whereas abolishing ICE would allow dangerous criminal aliens, including violent and ruthless members of the MS–13 gang, to remain in American communities;
Whereas during fiscal year 2017, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested more than 127,000 aliens with criminal convictions or charges;
Whereas criminal aliens arrested by ICE ERO in fiscal year 2017 were responsible for more than—
(1) 76,000 dangerous drug offenses;
(2) 48,000 assault offenses;
(3) 11,000 weapon offenses;
(4) 5,000 sexual assault offenses;
(5) 2,000 kidnapping offenses; and
(6) 1,800 homicide offenses;

Whereas ICE Homeland Security Investigations made 4,818 gang-related arrests in fiscal year 2017;
Whereas abolishing ICE would mean that countless illegal aliens who could pose a threat to public safety would be allowed to roam free instead of being removed from American soil;
Whereas abolishing ICE would mean more dangerous illegal drugs flowing into our communities, causing more Americans to needlessly suffer;
Whereas ICE plays a critical role in combatting the drug crisis facing our Nation;
Whereas ICE seized more than 980,000 pounds of narcotics in fiscal year 2017, including thousands of pounds of the deadly drugs fueling the opioid crisis;
Whereas ICE seized 2,370 pounds of fentanyl and 6,967 pounds of heroin in fiscal year 2017;
Whereas ICE logged nearly 630,000 investigative hours directed toward fentanyl in fiscal year 2017;
Whereas abolishing ICE would leave these drugs in our communities to cause more devastation;
Whereas abolishing ICE would mean eliminating the agency that deports aliens that pose a terrorist threat to the United States;
Whereas ICE was created in 2003 to better protect national security and public safety after 9/11 terrorists exploited immigration rules to gain entry into the United States;
Whereas the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks found that many of the 9/11 hijackers committed visa violations;
Whereas ICE identifies dangerous individuals before they enter our country and locates them as they violate our immigration laws; and

Whereas abolishing ICE would enable the hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals who illegally overstay their visa each year to remain in the United States indefinitely:

ILLEGAL ALIEN RAPED 4 WOMEN IN SANCTUARY CITY

Who is the sanctuary city for?
San Francisco provided no shelter or sanctuary for Orlando Vilchez Lazo's victims. But it was certainly happy to provide sanctuary for the ride share rapist while he committed his crimes,
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Monday blasted San Francisco over its sanctuary policy that “shields criminal aliens who prey on the community” by pointing to an illegal immigrant charged in connection to the rapes of four women, The San Francisco Chronicle reported.
He reportedly worked for Lyft at the time, but the company told the paper that there is no indication that the alleged attacks occurred while he was working for them. A spokeswoman said he was “deactivated” after word of the allegations.
ICE officials reportedly “lodged a detainer” for Lazo but noted in a statement that the city’s jail “does not honor” these detainers or “notify ICE about the impending release of aliens in custody.”
It's more important for San Fran to go on protecting its undocumented rapists and killers.
The suspect, Orlando Vilchez Lazo, 36, is being held in jail in San Francisco in lieu of $4.2 million bail and faces life in prison in connection with the rapes of four women who got into his car believing him to be a ride-hail driver, police said.\
On Tuesday, he spoke quietly as he stood before Judge Braden Woods in San Francisco Superior Court to face charges of rape by force or violence, sexual penetration by a foreign object, kidnapping and kidnapping to commit another crime.
We need sanctuary from sanctuary cities.

Alleged Cash-Smuggling Teen with Mexican Political Ties Arrested in Texas

Over $3 million in cash seized by San Diego Sector Border Patrol Agents in August 2016.

The newly arrested suspected leader of a smuggling group made up of rich socialite teens is related to at least two top Mexican politicians in Tamaulipas. The circle used private planes to allegedly move $1 million a week in cash into Mexico.

This week, federal authorities arrested Rafael Gabriel Martinez Leal and Juan Pablo Hoyos Avila as they, along with two other teens and a pilot, prepared to leave San Antonio, Texas, on their way to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, carrying almost $880,000 in bulk cash, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed. The story was first published by the San Antonio Express-News whose reporter was present during the initial appearance and identified Hoyos as a student at Incarnate Word University.
Breitbart Texas confirmed Martinez Leal is a cousin of Jose Ramon Gomez Leal, the top representative of Mexican President-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and is a nephew by marriage of Tamaulipas Governor Francisco Cabeza de Vaca. Gomez Leal, a member of the new ruling party in Mexico called Morena, ran for mayor in Reynosa but lost and is currently the top representative of the party in Tamaulipas.
The arrest took place when U.S. Customs and Border Protection in San Antonio received an anonymous call about a private airplane with tail number XB-TOY that would be smuggling cash into Mexico. CBP officers intercepted the plane and found $880,000 in bundles stuffed inside one of seven boxes of fans loaded into the plane.
Agents with Homeland Security Investigations questioned the teens, leading to Martinez and Hoyos to reportedly admit they were smuggling “drug money” in airplanes since January. The other two teens and the pilot claimed to not have knowledge of the operation.
Efforts to reach J.R. Gomez Leal were not successful. Breitbart Texas contacted the Tamaulipas government which issued a statement:
In regards to the references made about Governor Francisco Cabeza de Vaca in relation to the young man arrested yesterday in the U.S. named Rafael Gabriel Martinez Leal and who is described as a relative, let me state that there is no “direct-line” relation.
It is reiterated in a categoric fashion that everyone as a citizen has to assume responsibility for the acts they carry out and if in this case, the young man committed a wrong act he must face the consequences and the law should judge him accordingly.

Cartel Violence Forces U.S. Gov’t to Prohibit Employee Travel to Downtown Juárez

The United States Consulate General in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico has issued a security alert prohibiting U.S. Government employees from traveling into downtown Ciudad Juárez without advance permission for the next 30 days.

Breitbart Texas reports regularly on the escalation of cartel-related violence in the area known as the El Paso-Juárez Metropolitan Border area — to include three people who were recently shot near an El Paso-Juárez Metropolitan Border Area pedestrian bridge.
This security alert issued on July 13, 2018, goes into effect immediately and cites a marked increase in homicides throughout Ciudad Juárez. These include an increase in shootings in the highly frequented downtown area during daylight hours.
The security alert reads as follows:
U.S. government personnel are prohibited from traveling to downtown Ciudad Juárez without advance permission from the Regional Security Office for the next 30 days.  The restriction covers both official and personal travel and includes the area west of Avenida de Las Americas.  All approved official travel must be in an armored vehicle. The restriction will be reevaluated at the end of the 30-day period.
Actions to Take:
  • U.S. citizens should take this restriction into account when planning travel to Ciudad Juárez.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and monitor local media reports.
  • Contact the nearest U.S. Consulate or Embassy if you need assistance.
Breitbart Texas reported on the recent uptick in cartel violence in Juárez primarily attributed to a dispute between formerly allied criminal groups fighting over the valuable street-level drug market and old rivals engaged in a renewed turf war. The level of killings in Juárez the past few months are similar to those seen during the 2011 crisis. A fierce cartel war broke out at that time for control of the El Paso corridor between the Juárez and Sinaloa Cartels. In late June, the city of Juárez registered 22 murders in a single day. The Mexican government responded by deploying troops to the streets of Juárez for the purpose of quelling cartel violence.
Homicides by Month in Juárez:
  • January — 72
  • February — 44
  • March — 56
  • April — 65
  • May — 124
  • June — 180

The real facts immigration anarchists try to hide from the public.

Pro law-and-order immigration advocates in America whine about the emotional arguments and unhinged publicity stunts used by the open borders/abolish-ICE anarchists to sway public opinion.
But, when they use these emotional arguments, the abolish ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) crowd are merely playing to their own personal strengths: irrationality, magical thinking, and projection. The important issue is that law-and-order advocates, like us, have failed abysmally to use our own emotional arguments in changing minds on the immigration topic.
Indeed, the most persuasive emotional arguments strongly favor secure borders and effective immigration law enforcement.
Let’s begin by understanding that a nation’s leaders should be most concerned about the safety, well being and futures of its own citizens the same way that rational parents must prioritize the safety and well being of their own children above all others. From a nurturing perspective, pro law-and-order immigration advocates will have an edge by using this argument.
While we are on the topic of children, consider how the DREAM Act and then DACA were sold to us on the lies that this legislative detritus was supposed to help “young immigrants” who were brought here as children and had no control over their situation.
Of course, those “young immigrants” could have been in their mid-thirties and simply had to claim to have been present in the U.S. prior to their 16th birthdays.  Then, when that bill failed to pass, President Obama cobbled together DACA -- again claiming that this was about the children because, “Congress had failed to act.” I wrote about this deception in my article, DACA: The Immigration Trojan Horse, How the original DREAM act was designed to cover 90% of the illegal alien population in the US.
Now the press,  and the Democrats along with certain judges, have gone off the deep end where an estimated 3,000 children have been separated from their parents along the U.S. Mexican border when they were caught being smuggled into the United States.
Various religious and charitable organizations like T'ruah and Church World Services have turned this into a media circus. Psychologists have been rushed in to help treat these “traumatized” children.
Had their own caregivers not brought these children across the border - in a brazen act of law-breaking - there would be no separation between family members.  The caregivers took those illegal and irresponsible actions.  The Trump administration was compelled to act as a consequence of the actions of those law-breaking caregivers.
Many of those children were not brought into the United States by their parents,  but by human traffickers - this fact has been ignored by the media. Those children’s lives were endangered when they were brought by criminals, with whom their parents possibly conspired with in an effort to circumvent our immigration laws.
Even the children brought here by their parents or other family members were placed at risk by the arduous trek across dangerous terrain -- with it's sweltering temperatures, poisonous insects and snakes at every few feet, and with roving murderous thugs of the drug cartels waiting to pounce on innocent people.
The incredible hypocrisy is that those now demanding the demise of ICE are deafeningly silent on the mental condition, and the ultimate fate, of American children in foster care.
The website Children’s Rights Children’s Rights posted a section on Foster Care that included the following statistics:
On any given day, there are nearly 438,000 children in foster care in the United States.
On average, children remain in state care for nearly two years and six percent of children in foster care have languished there for five or more years.
Despite the common perception that the majority of children in foster care are very young, the average age of kids entering care is 7.
While most children in foster care live in family settings, a substantial minority — 12 percent — live in institutions or group homes.
Many of the children were taken from their families in the U.S. because their parents were incarcerated, were homeless or were, in one way or another deemed unfit to care for their own children.
Where is the news coverage about this foster care crisis that involves a far greater number of children in the United States? How many psychologists are rushing to comfort these hundreds of thousands of children in America who are in foster care, not for several weeks but as noted above, in some cases, for years?
Once again, the so-called “concerns” about children that have been exploited to evoke antagonism for the Trump administration and immigration law enforcement, are as fake as their other arguments.
The facts are crystal clear: our immigration laws have nothing to do with race, religion or ethnicity.  Safety, security and employment opportunities for Americans, irrespective of race, religion or ethnicity are at the foundation of America’s immigration laws.
The bullying tactic employed by the immigration anarchists whereby they accuse pro-law-and-order immigration advocates of being racists and xenophobes is quickly dispelled by reviewing a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act, Title 8 U.S. Code § 1182 - Inadmissible aliens.
This section of law enumerates the categories of aliens who are to be excluded from the United States.  There are absolutely no references about race, religion or ethnicity.  Rather, this section of law that guides CBP (Customs and Border Protection) inspectors at America’s ports of entry.
Among these categories are:  aliens who were previously deported (removed), aliens who suffer from dangerous communicable diseases or are severely mentally ill and prone to violence, and aliens who are criminals, spies, war criminals, human rights violators or terrorists.  Exclusions include: aliens who would likely become public charges or work illegally, thereby displacing and suppressing the wages of American workers and lawful immigrant workers.
Open borders and a lack of interior enforcement of our immigration laws has enabled transitional gangs to enter the United States and establish themselves in towns and cities around the country.   Recent news of MS-13 gang activity has outraged the American public but the problem has persisted for decades and involves Latin American gangs as well as gangs from around the world.  As an INS agent,  I investigated and arrested criminals from nearly every continent.  Human nature is universal.  All humans bleed red and among all races, religions, and ethnicities we find examples of “The good, the bad and the ugly.”
I focused on this issue in my article, America's Gang Crisis: Congressional Hearings Focus On MS-13.
The 9/11 Commission, to which I provided testimony, made it clear that multiple failures of the immigration system enabled terrorists, and not only the 19 terrorist-hijackers who attacked our nation on September 11, 2001 but a list of others, to enter the United States and embed themselves.
Thousands of innocent people have lost their lives to foreign criminals and international terrorists.  Does this not evoke strong emotions?
My family, my neighbors and I lived through the terror attack on September 11, 2001, nearly 17 years ago, and I can tell you from first-hand experience that the attacks left those who witnessed them shaken to the core and causing many to still suffer Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), forever impacting them and their well being.
That news report began with this excerpt:
Psychological damage has led to a higher risk for heart attack and stroke among civilian 9/11 rescuers and recovery workers, according to a study to be released Tuesday.
The American Heart Association interviewed more than 6,841 non-firefighter workers and untrained volunteers who were at Ground Zero following the attacks on Sept. 11, and found that PTSD cases were twice as prevalent than among the general population. Heart attacks and strokes among those blue collar crew members with PTSD were 2.35 times higher than the rest of the 9/11 workers, according to the study.
America has been too willing to permit foreign workers to enter the United States.  This has displaced American workers, driven down wages and caused large numbers of American families to lose their homes to foreclosure, perhaps forcing more American kids into foster care.
Will hearing these facts evoke strong emotions?
Time and again judges and mayors of Sanctuary Cities have fatuously declared the Trump administration's immigration policies - policies to secure our nation’s borders and enforce our immigration laws - to be “unconstitutional.”
These officials should be required to read Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”
"Invasion" has been defined, in part, as:
An instance of invading a country or region with an armed force: the Allied invasion of Normandy | in 1546 England had to be defended from invasion.
• an incursion by a large number of people or things into a place or sphere of activity: an unwelcome intrusion into another's domain.
Facts and emotions are stubborn things.  Where the current immigration debate is concerned, facts, the U.S. Constitution, our laws, our sense of morality, common sense - and even emotions - can be used to counter the unhinged and irrational narratives of the open borders / abolish-ICE crowd.

Smugglers Using Unaccompanied Minors to Carry Drugs Across Mexican Border, Say Feds

Border Patrol agents in South Texas arrested three unaccompanied minors being used by Mexican cartels to smuggle marijuana across the Rio Grande River. The actions are indicative of the types of abuses put upon Central American juveniles who are being put through the human smuggling process.

Rio Grande Valley(RGV) Sector agents assigned to the Fort Brown Station observed a group of illegal aliens crossing the border from Mexico while carrying large backpacks on July 12. The agents suspected the backpacks carried drugs, according to information provided to Breitbart Texas by RGV Sector officials.
The agents intercepted the group and arrested a 25-year-0ld man and a 15-year-old juvenile. The balance of the group quickly fled back across the river into Mexico, officials stated. A search of the three bundles led to the discovery of 64 pounds. Officials estimated the value of the load to have a street value of $51,000. The man and the juvenile were arrested.
A few days later, Fort Brown agents witnessed four suspects crossing the Rio Grande River border from Mexico. The agents responded and apprehended two 17-year-old juveniles. The juveniles had been carrying bundles of marijuana on their backs. The two other suspects fled back across the river with their loads. The intercepted marijuana weighed more than 68 pounds. Officials placed the street value of the seized drugs at more than $55,000.
Rio Grande Valley Sector officials confirmed to Breitbart Texas on Tuesday evening that all three of the juveniles are classified as Unaccompanied Alien Children. They will be processed by Border Patrol officials per the sector’s guidelines.
Agents turned the drugs over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.

DHS Official: Deported Parents Decided to Leave 100-Plus Children Behind

More than 100 deported migrant parents have separated themselves from their children and left them behind in the United States, according to Kevin McAleenan, head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
“So we’ve seen many [deported] parents — apparently over a hundred already — say that they’d rather have their child stay here,” McAleenan told Politico’s interviewer, Luiza Chwialkowska Savage. “They might have a family member who that child can be placed with in the U.S., but that is the parent’s decision,” he said July 17.
The growing number of self-imposed separations comes as progressives and judges continue their emotional protests against the federal effort to shelter children while their migrant parents are detained for immigration violations or asylum hearings.
The judges’ campaign against “family separation” has forced President Donald Trump to reinstate “catch-and-release” policies for migrants with children, and has rushed the release of roughly 2,600 parents and a similar number of children, including the 100-plus adults who have now voluntarily separated themselves from their children.
The post-release separation of parents from their children is a deliberate choice by the parents, Jessica Vaughan, policy director at the Center for Immigration Studies, told Breitbart News.
That is the choice of their parents! The whole point of bringing the kids was to get the kids into the United States to live with friends or [extended] family. That was always the intended result. The [parents often will] reunify by coming in illegally on a later date.
The parents are willing participants in the criminal act of smuggling, willingly putting their children in this dangerous situation, and willingly separating themselves from their kids, and willingly remaining separated.
Roughly 500,000 migrants from Central America were let into the United States under President Barack Obama, creating many family networks that can help raise the migrants’ abandoned children — and a new population of illegal-alien children to lobby for future amnesty legislation.
In the interview with McAleenan, Politico’s questioner asked: “A lot of people have been surprised to read that some of these parents were deported with their children still here in government custody. Can you explain a little bit about what happened in those cases?”
McAleenan responded, at 14:35 in the video:
When they finish their immigration proceeding and have a final order of removal from an immigration judge, and ICE [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement] is taking that step to remove them to their home country, if they are aware that their child is in HHS [Department of Health and Human Services] custody, ICE gives them the opportunity to make a decision to bring the child home with them or to have the child stay with HHS custody and exercise their own rights under the TVPRA [Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act].
So we’ve seen many parents – apparently over a hundred already — say that they’d rather have their child stay here. They might have a family member who that child can be placed with in the U.S., but that is the parent’s decision.
After McAleenan’s revelation, Politico’s questioner quickly moved on another subject, saying “So let us talk a little bit about the big picture.”

A DHS official said early July that at least 12 parents of children aged four or younger had decided to leave their children behind in the United States.
The expanding abandonment of children is a political problem for progressive groups which have claimed moral superiority over pro-enforcement advocates via their emotional campaign ‘to end to family separation.’

Protesters demonstrated in San Diego in June against the immigration policies of President Donald Trump
For example, a June statement from American Academy of Pediatrics declared:
“Separating children from their parents contradicts everything we stand for as pediatricians — protecting and promoting children’s health,” AAP President Colleen A. Kraft, M.D., M.B.A., FAAP, said in a press statement. “The new policy is the latest example of harmful actions by the Department of Homeland Security against immigrant families, hindering their right to seek asylum in our country and denying parents the right to remain with their children.”
Politico’s interviewer channeled the progressives’ denunciation of enforcement and separation, asking:
The President of the pediatrics association made some very strong comments about the long-term impact, psychological impacts, impacts on brain development on children who are separated from their parents like this. It has been very difficult for any of us, and I know you’re a dad, to watch this. Talk about what you see as the moral dimension here. What are our responsibilities to the children?
“We need to protect them, ideally, before they even take this perilous journey and are victimized by smugglers [and] are put in stash houses, and many lose their lives,” McAleenan responded.
Progressive lawyers are urging migrant parents to let their children file separately for asylum, even after the parents are slated for deportation.
Pro-immigration advocates say the 2008 update to the TVPRA law allows children to seek asylum — and eventually citizenship — because their parents carried them into the United States and then refused to take them home.
The 2000 law was passed, according to the act’s preamble, “To combat trafficking in persons, especially into the sex trade, slavery, and involuntary servitude, to reauthorize certain Federal programs to prevent violence against women, and for other purposes.”
A 2013 policy set by the officials working for President Barack Obama said “unaccompanied children” can file for amnesty even if they have a parent in the United States and even after they turn 18.
However, Obama’s lenient policies have been partly supplanted by an asylum reformestablished in June by Attorney Gen. Jeff Sessions. The Sessions reform says migrants cannot get asylum by claiming spousal abuse or fear of gangs.
In California, the ACLU is pressing Judge Dana Sabraw to let them represent children, with or without parents. The Associated Press reported July 16:
“As a result of the Attorney General’s (patently unlawful) asylum decision, it will be that much more difficult to advise families about whether a child will ultimately prevail in his or her asylum claim,” the ACLU said in the filing, “or instead will spend years by themselves in the United States fighting their case in the immigration courts, only to be removed at the end of the day.”
In New York, the New York City’s Legal Aid Society is trying to help migrants and their children stay. Politico summarized a comment from lawyer Judith Goldiner, saying “Some parents would rather their children stay in the U.S. to avoid violence even if it means being separated, she said.”
Wealthy pro-migration lawyers are volunteering to help migrants’ children win residency and green cards in the United States. For example, the Associated Press reported:
William Silverman, of the New York law firm Proskauer, spent a week in June at the Dilley family immigration detention center southwest of San Antonio, where he represented four Central American children ages 5 to 10 who appeared on their own for appeals after they and their mothers failed credible fear interviews.
He said the judge, speaking to the children via closed-circuit television, denied their appeals and told each kid “good luck in your home country.”
“Some of the kids were not old enough to fully understand the consequences,” Silverman said. “But the oldest boy, as soon as the judge spoke, he didn’t say anything but slouched over and put his head down. He looked completely dejected.”
Many elite lawyers are providing free aid to the migrants.

All-star of the week this week is @lindsaycnash who travelled up with little notice to provide credible fear orientations to 40 migrants being held in the Albany County Jail. When the border comes to NY, we respond accordingly. Thanks for being a part of the team @CardozoLaw!

In his Politico interview, McAleenan said that the law could be enforced and migrants can be treated fairly if Congress allows agencies to hold them in detention for a short period instead of releasing them to hide in the nation’s population of 11 million illegal migrants.
“Immigration processing can be done fairly and relatively quickly [and] the detain docket for the immigration courts moves in about 45 days on average …. for those in ICE custody,” he said, adding that the backlog now consists of 700,000 cases. He continued:
Only about 5 percent of the people released ultimately end up being removed, even if they get a final order of removal for immigration purposes. It is really that in-custody docket, move in 45 days, that actually creates an immigration system where we have a rule of law, and we don’t have that if we are releasing people.
In 2017, DHS officials approved 400,000 work permits for people with pending asylum claims.

U.S. Election Meddling: Nationwide Voter Fraud, Importation of 15M Foreign-Born Voters

US Voting

National Guard deployment led to more than 10,000 arrests of illegal immigrants, says CBP

Border Patrol National Guard

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and Border Patrol agents apprehended thousands of people that guardsmen helped point out.

The National Guard's deployment to the southwest border in mid-April has led to 10,805 "deportable alien arrests" of people who illegally entered the United States from Mexico, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokeswoman said Monday.
Because guardsmen are military personnel and not law enforcement officers, they cannot apprehend illegal immigrants. But CBP officers and Border Patrol agents apprehended thousands of people that guardsmen helped point out.
The National Guard's presence also helped lead to the interception of more than 3,300 others who were turned back before they crossed into the U.S., CBP press secretary Corry Schiermeyer said in an email to the Washington Examiner. The Guard's deployment has also led to an additional 11,686 pounds of marijuana being seized as a result of their work.
There are 1,601 National Guard troops at the border assisting with various surveillance, maintenance, and related operations. That number could tick up considerably if the 4,000 National Guard troops President Trump approved on April 4 are called on in a future request from CBP.
Troops are providing support from the air, surveillance backup, and assistance with infrastructure projects like vegetation clearing and road maintenance, not including border wall construction. Another task is to specifically free up agents to leave their desks and get back out to the field. The troops monitoring remote video surveillance systems have then been able to report sightings to a greater field of agents, and thus the number of apprehensions has increased, officials said.
The deployment is funded through the end of fiscal 2018, Sept. 30. Ronald Vitiello, then-acting CBP deputy commissioner, said in April the intent of the mission is for CBP to regain operational control of the border.
