Majority of Wealthy Support Hiking their Taxes to Stop Illegal Immigration
2:16
America’s top earners, by a majority, support a plan to raise taxes on themselves in order to help stop illegal immigration to the United States.
A new Rasmussen Reports Poll finds that Americans earning $200,000 or more are the only economic demographic group willing to hike taxes on themselves to stop rising illegal immigration levels at the U.S.-Mexico border.
About 56 percent of Americans earning $200,000 or more said they would pay an additional $100 to more than $1,000 a year in their federal taxes if it meant less illegal immigration arriving at the country’s southern border.
About 60 percent of Americans who “strongly approve” of Trump say they would be willing to hike their taxes between $100 to more than $1,000 a year to stop illegal immigration at the border.
The poll comes as Trump’s administration could, once again, punt funding for a border wall into the new year. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders hinted that the administration may back down on their demands for $5 billion in funding for the bollard-style fencing the White House has been constructing at the border.
Huckabee said White House officials are looking for alternative routes to fund the bollard fencing — routes that would not need to be approved by Congress.
The continuing rise of illegal immigration at the southern border indicates that Fiscal Year 2019 will see the biggest boom of illegal immigration in more than a decade, with more than 600,000 border crossings, according to Princeton Researcher Steven Kopits.
In November 2018, there were close to 52,000 border crossings on the southern border, alone, marking the highest level of illegal immigration in the month of November since 2006. In October 2018, illegal immigration at the southern border soared to the highest level for a single month since April 2014. The month’s illegal immigration levels are almost exactly double what southwest border crossings were this same month in 2017.

Quinnipiac Poll: Voter Support for Border Wall Hits Record High
Support for building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border jumped to its highest level on record, Quinnipiac University announced Tuesday, reporting results of its latest poll:
“This is the highest level of support for the wall since the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN- uh-pe-ack) University National Poll first asked the question in November 2016.”
Forty-three percent of voters support building the border wall, while 54% oppose it, according to the national survey of 1,147 voters, conducted Dec. 12-17, 2018.
The record 43% support represents a five-point jump from its August 15, 2018 level of 38% and is up seven points from its year-ago level of 36% (Dec. 13, 2017). Back on April 20, 2017, only 33% of voters nationwide supported building a border wall.
By party affiliation, Republicans overwhelmingly support building the wall, Democrats overwhelmingly oppose it, and Independents are divided:
- Republican Support: 86%
- Democrat Opposition: 90%
- Independents: 47% Support, 51% Oppose
THE MEXICAN CRIME TIDAL WAVE:
“The Obama Administration seems to be heeding to Mexico’s
request by openly halting the deportation of hundreds of thousands of illegal
immigrants. Additionally, the administration has a “backdoor amnesty” plan to
legalize millions of undocumented aliens in case Congress doesn’t pass
legislation to do it.” JUDICIAL WATCH

street gang, the 18th Street gang, were illegal aliens.

WHO REALLY PAYS THE COST OF OPEN BORDERS?
More than 7-in-10 households headed by immigrants in the state
of California are on taxpayer-funded welfare, a new study reveals.
The
latest Census Bureau data analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS)
finds that about 72 percent of households headed by noncitizens and immigrants
use one or more forms of taxpayer-funded welfare programs in California — the
number one immigrant-receiving state in the U.S. JOHN BINDER

ICE in 2018: 256,085 Removals of Illegal Aliens, 42 Removals of 'Known or Suspected' Terrorists
(CNSNews.com) -- The latest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Removal Operations Report, covering Fiscal Year 2018, shows that ICE conducted 256,085 removals of illegal aliens and this included 42 removals of "known or suspected terrorists" and 5,872 removals of "known or suspected gang members."
Fiscal Year 2018 was from Oct. 1, 2017 to Sept. 30, 2018. As ICE reports, there were 256,085 removals in FY 2018, up from 226,119 in FY 2017, a 13% increase.
"Integral to the integrity of the nation’s lawful immigration system is the removal of immigration violators who are illegally present in the country and have received a final order of removal," states ICE in its report. "A removal is defined as the compulsory and confirmed movement of an inadmissible or deportable alien out of the United States based on such an order."
The removals include aliens arrested by ICE and those apprehended by Customs and Border Patrol and then turned over to ICE. In at least 145,262 of the removal cases the persons had criminal convictions, according to the report.
In addition, there were many ICE removals of "known or suspected gang members and known or suspected terrorists (KST)," states the report.
Charts provided by ICE, for instance, show there were 5,872 removals of known/suspected gang members in 2018 and 42 removals of known/suspected terrorists. For comparison, in FY 2016, there were 27 removals of known/suspected terrorists, and 2,057 removals of gang members.
"ICE identifies gang members and KSTs by checking an alien’s background in federal law enforcement databases, interviews with the aliens, and information received from law enforcement partners," stated the agency in its report. "This information is flagged accordingly in ICE’s enforcement systems."
"These populations are not mutually exclusive, as an alien may be flagged as both a known or suspected gang member, and a KST," said ICE. "As seen in Figure 12, ICE removals of known and suspected gang members increased by 162 percent in FY2017, 12 more than doubling from the previous year. These critical removals increased again in FY2018, rising by 9 percent from FY2017." (Emphasis added.)
