House Republicans Expect to Learn More About Clinton Foundation Probe Next Week

(CNSNews.com) - Next Thursday, a House Oversight subcommittee chaired by Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) expects to hear testimony, in public, from two of the people who submitted a formal complaint to the IRS and the FBI alleging problems at the Clinton Foundation.
The formal title of the Dec. 13 hearing is "Oversight of Nonprofit Organizations: A Case Study on the Clinton Foundation."
Jon Solomon, an investigative reporter and frequent contributor to Fox News's "Hannity," said on Thursday night that the Oversight subcommittee also has asked Justice Department officials to come in and give a status report on various matters they've been assigned to investigate. Those matters include the Clinton Foundation and the Uranium One deal.
As you may remember, last March, then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions informed Congress that he had asked John Huber, a U.S. attorney in Utah, to "evaluate" issues of concern to House Republicans.
In that March 29 letter, Sessions wrote that at the conclusion of Huber’s review, Huber would recommend “whether any matters not currently under investigation should be opened; whether any matters currently under investigation require further resources; or whether any matters merit the appointment of a Special Counsel.”
According to Jon Solomon, the Rep. Meadows and his subcommittee now want to learn what Huber has been doing.
"For the first time, Congress is going to put the Trump Justice Department's own officials, their feet to the fire," Solomon told Hannity. "And we're going to get an answer -- have you done anything? How much have you spent on this? Is there illegality or should we drop this line of inquiry with the Clinton Foundation? Next Thursday could be the day we get our answer."
Solomon is reporting that the people who filed the complaint about the Clinton Foundation include experts formerly with the Drug Enforcement Agency; the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Connecticut; and compliance experts for major Wall Street firms.
These are people that live and breathe tax law and good governance, and they've put together this complaint. They assembled a lot of internal documents from the Clinton Foundation, perhaps most importantly, two legal reviews that the Clinton Foundation did on itself. And what they found is that the Clinton Foundation itself, its own lawyers, warned that there was a strong possibility that donors were being made promises of quid pro quo favors from Secretary Clinton, when she was in the Obama administration, in return for gifts to the Foundation.They warned that there was a culture of non-compliance, not wanting to comply with the law, with the rules that the Foundation had to follow. They said that Bill Clinton's personal interest and his commingling of his personal busiess with the Foundation posed a grave threat to the Foundation itself. These are not Republicans. These are not partisans saying it. These are internal documents of lawyers hired by the Clinton Foundation to find out what was going on wrong in the FoundationThis is what they found. So these investigators assemble all of this evidence. They then go and they interview the current CFO, the longtime CFO, of the Clinton Foundation, a guy named Andy Kessel, and they do this in November 2016. And they take him out to dinner or lunch in New York. And they begin asking, Hey, are there problems here?
And according to their memo, their interview memo after they met with him, Kessel makes several spontaneous claims -- that he can't control Bill Clinton; that people have been trying to stop him from comingling personal business with the Foundation. But nobody can control him. And he makes the most provocative of statements, allegedly, if you believe this memo, in which he says, ‘I know where all the bodies are buried in the Clinton Foundation.’So they assemble all this evidence, they give it to the IRS in August '16; they give it to the main (Trump) Justice Department in October 2017, and then in early 2018, they're called by the FBI in Little Rock and they provide the evidence to the FBI in Little Rock, which means the main apparatus -- the IRS and the FBI and the Justice Department now have access to all of these allegations of wrongdoing.
Hannity said a spokesperson for the Clinton Foundation, asked for a response to Solomon's reporting, told Fox News that it is one of the most heavily scrutinized charitable organizations in the world and is continually subjected to politically motivated allegations. The Foundation's CFO denied any inappropriate or illegal activities.
Hannity also noted that the Clinton Foundation raised $62.9 million dollars in 2016, when it looked like Hillary Clinton might win the presidency, but in 2017, the Foundation raised only $26 million.
Pathetic Clintons resort to Groupon trying to get people to show up and fill some seats on their stadium tour
We now have the first acknowledgment from their side that the Clintons vastly overestimated their personal popularity and the public’s interest in hearing them talk about themselves.
The Clintons and their stadium tour promoter are officially responding to the public’s refusal to show up in sufficient numbers for them to avoid embarrassment (and financial loss) at the level of ticket prices that seemed realistic when the tour was announced only two months ago. This is pathetic on a couple of levels. First of all, notice that this is not some last-minute sale, but rather for an event half a year in the future. In other words, they have given up on the price list that seemed realistic to them just a couple of months ago. They are admitting they are not worth (to the public) what they were charging.
Secondly, they are turning to a company, Groupon, that has also discovered that its stock price was too expensive for the public. Check out its stock chart since its IPO:

At its close yesterday, Groupon’s stock price has been cut more than 87%, a much steeper discount than the Clintons’ 55% price drop on Groupon. But recall that last minute discounts for the tour already have reached as high as 90%, so true bargain hunters should hold off until they get desperate.
I have a guess about what is going on behind the scenes. I suspect that Live Nation, a publicly held New York Stock Exchange-listed company with more than ten billion dollars in revenue last year, is weighing cancellation of the entire tour. Their business, staging public events, has what is called in business jargon, “high operational leverage,” meaning that once you cover your costs, most of the rest of the revenue goes right to profits. But the downside to operational leverage is that failure to cover fixed costs can yield spectacular losses.
I conjecture that the Clintons are afraid of the ridicule that would accompany outright cancellation of the tour. Even worse, it might signal to other Democrats that there is no reason to continue to protect them for the consequences of their misbehavior. If they can’t even pull a crowd, why not cut the party’s losses?
I suspect that this Groupon offer is a compromise. My theory is that Live Nation is saying to the Clintons that if the discount doesn’t drive a lot more sales, they wll pull the plug in the tour.
Bad as this move looks, it heralds even worse news ahead.

No way out for Clinton, Inc. corruption this time
The legal dodge used by James Comey to exonerate Hillary Clinton from her prima facie crimes in using an unsecured server for official business won’t be any help to the Clinton Foundation as it faces charges coming from whistleblowers.
Clinton Inc. criminal defense lawyers trying to hide behind the word “intent” won’t work because the Clintons were previously warned early and often about improper compliance:

There is a great line in the fun movie, National Treasure, spoken by the accomplished, former Marine, Harvey Keitel, who was playing a very solid FBI Special Agent “Someone has to go to prison Ben.”
Sadly, as both the first Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Public Affairs and then in a reorganization as being in charge of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs for the Veterans Administration, I did experience many scammers and real criminal types that actually did not go to prison but walked away without being charged after running truly horrific veteran charity scams.
The lesson I learned in trying to bring many veteran charity scams to justice was, sadly, that a legal strategy adopted by defendants often worked. Two FBI Special Agents who were investigating a $ 6 million scam out of the $ 7 million collected said DOJ Attorneys prosecuting charity cases have to respect the power of the word “intent”. Thus the cases were often dropped.
But now the FBI/DOJ does not have that excuse to withhold a prosecution going forward.
One of the elements of a crime is that the criminal behavior has to be documented as being undertaken knowingly and purposeful which is exactly what the whistleblower documents prove.
Often, charity scammers walk away clean because the Government cannot prove “intent” because the defendant if taken to court will simply say; look at our good work we are just bad managers.
Anyone watching cable shows have by now seen Clinton, Inc. supporters focus on all the “good works” the Clinton Charity supposedly has accomplished. However, whistleblowers now tell us it was willful criminal conduct on the part of the Clintons, thus legally spiking the no criminal intent defense.
I know that the “no criminal intent but we are just bad managers”, would be an audacious defense strategy by a former governor and president and his wife, a former Senator and Secretary of State. However, I have learned in over two decades of investigating all things criminal with Clinton, Inc, to never ever count them out in their powering through real criminal behavior. It is almost like a big game to them.
One can finally hope that the recent whistleblower revelations will tell us that a legal prosecution fuse has finally been lit to embrace the legitimate campaign chant of Trump Nation supporters to “Lock Her Up,”
Finally one can only hope that Bill and Hillary Clinton may legally have no way out.
