ELIZABETH II and the HOUSE OF WINDSOR - DOLE SUCKING MONKEYS ON A STRING

Hello, Ma'am! Fergie performs her trademark deep curtsey to the Queen as Her Majesty arrives at a sun-kissed Royal Ascot

  • The Queen dressed for day four in a stunning raspberry pink outfit by British fashion designer Angela Kelly
  • She also wore one of her favourite brooches, the Diamond Star, and checked the state of the ground
  • Sarah Ferguson also attended the event at the Berkshire racecourse today and curtseyed to Her Majesty
  • Her Majesty was joined by her second cousin Lady Helen Taylor, who looked elegant in a dusky rose outfit
  • Mr Timothy Taylor, the Etheringtons, the Warrens, the Vesteys and the Cumanis also travelled in royal carriage
  • The five-day race meet will conclude tomorrow, with some 300,000 thought to have attended this week
Sarah Ferguson performed her signature deep curtsey for the Queen today as she welcomed the monarch into the Royal Enclosure at Ascot beside her ex-husband Prince Andrew.
The Duchess of York, 59, wore an eye-catching sunshine yellow number with a striking green hat with peacock feathers streaming from its brim and elegant lace netting.
The monarch, 93, also dressed appropriately brightly for the sunny occasion, looking radiant in a stunning raspberry pink outfit by British fashion designer Angela Kelly, which she teamed with a hat adorned with dyed ostrich feather, with a narrow brim so it didn't blow off in the breeze.
She also wore one of her favourite brooches, the Diamond Star, and checked the state of the ground as she entered on the first open-top traditional carriage at 2pm.
Her Majesty was joined in her carriage by her second cousin Lady Helen Taylor, who looked elegant in a dusky rose outfit with a pillarbox hat, and her art gallery dealer husband Mr Timothy Taylor.

Go green like Sarah Ferguson with a logo bag by Gucci

We love that Sarah Ferguson isn't afraid to embrace bold colors.
She attended day four of Royal Ascot wearing a mustard yellow wrap dress, which she accessorized with purple heels, a teal hat and this green velvet bag, which is by Gucci. The embellished G logo is a bit of a giveaway!
It's available to buy now at Farfetch so click (right) if you fancy adding a splash of colour to your little black dress. The optional rope shoulder strap is a nice little touch!
Or check out the gorgeous green clutches we've got lined up for you in the edit below. This Lancaster style will do the trick...

The next carriage was occupied by Mr Mark Etherington and Lady Alexandra Etherington as well as Carolyn Warren, daughter of the late Earl of Carnarvon, and Mr John Warren, who advises the Queen on her bloodstock.
In carriage three was the Hon. William Vestey and his wife, and Mr and Mrs Luca Cumani - the third time they have travelled to the event in the royal carriage.
Sarah, Duchess of York waved eagerly at the Queen as she chatted to her ex-husband the Duke of York, 59.
Later she tucked into a glass of Pimms as she watched the races from the balcony in the Royal Enclosure.
Peter Phillips also made a return to Royal Ascot today, though he was without his wife Autumn.

Fergie's Royal Ascot curtseys

The perfect curtsey is a fine art to perfect - but there is one former member of the Royal Family who has become legendary for her sweeping bows.
Despite not being an official member of The Fold for more than two decades, Fergie always enthusiastically greets her former mother-in-law with an elaborate knee bend.
The Duchess of York, 60, appears to long-look forward to her afternoon at Royal Ascot, often excitedly waving at the monarch to welcome her into the Parade Ring.

This year is her fifth attending the Berkshire racecourse event, and she has become famed among royal fans for her enthusiastic displays at the occasion.
In 2018, she joined ex-husband Prince Andrew and their daughter Princess Beatrice, proving she hadn't forgotten how to curtsy as she bobbed in deference to the monarch.
Clutching her daughter's hand, she swept into a low curtsey as her former mother-in-law rode past in the royal carriage.
It was a similar scene in 2017, when Fergie appeared alongside Beatrice at the event and was seen enthusiastically waving to the Queen before bending into a low curtsey.

On this occasion, she appeared to call out to Her Majesty as she rode past in her carriage.
Meanwhile in 2016, the mother-daughter duo were once again joined by Fergie's ex husband Prince Andrew.
The Duchess of York beamed at the Queen as she rode past, curtseying low while Beatrice and Andrew proudly looked on.
On the rainy summer day, Fergie used her umbrella to assist in helping her curtsey as low as she could.

And in 2015 it was a proper family affair at the event, as the usual trio were joined by Princess Eugenie and her now-husband Jack Brooksbank.
Fergie appeared to have perfected the curtsey even then, dropping one knee low to the ground while Prince Andrew offered a respectful bow.

The weekend is already in full swing at Royal Ascot as high spirited revellers enjoy a fourth day of festivities in the sun.
Revellers dressed to the nines in their finest frocks, sharpest suits and most fabulous hats posed for the cameras as they descended on the Berkshire racecourse.

Royal Ascot race card: Day 4

14.30 Albany Stakes (Fillies' Group 3)
15.05: King Edward VII Stakes (Group 2)
15.40: Commonwealth Cup (Group 1)
16.20: Coronation Stakes (Fillies' Group 1)
17.00: Sandringham Stakes (Fillies' Handicap)
17:35: Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes (Handicap)
While many women plumped for demure sundresses for the occasion, others donned daring frocks complete with plunging necklines and thigh-skimming hems.
Unsurprisingly, statement headpieces were the order of the day for many, with a Union Jack made from faux flowers and a flutter of neon pink butterflies both on show.
Yesterday jockey Frankie Dettori dominated the races, with four wins out of six including the Gold Cup, which he won riding hot favourite Stradivarius.
With the clue in the name, Royal Ascot is hugely popular with the monarchy and Her Majesty has attended every year since ascending the throne.
Yesterday the monarch, 93, took in the action alongside several members of the Royal Family including Princess Eugenie, Zara Phillips and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
The Queen broke with her typical brightly coloured outfits with a pale grey ensemble yesterday - but normal service was resumed today with her hot pink ensemble.

Many female revellers kept it classic today in demure summer frocks. Suits have also proved a popular trend for women.
Visitors to the Royal and Queen Anne enclosures have to abide by a strict dress code, which does not allow bare midriffs or strapless dresses, but for guests in the Windsor and other enclosures the rules are more relaxed.
Up to 300,000 people were expected to descend on the event over the course of five days.
