House Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded to President Donald Trump’s decision to delay the deportations of a few hundred recent illegal migrants by asking for a nationwide amnesty for millions of migrants living in the United States.

“Mr. President, delay is welcome,” she tweeted, adding, “Time is needed for comprehensive immigration reform.”
In recent weeks, Democrats have been stepping up their calls for “comprehensive immigration reform,” usually by praising the 2013 “Gang of Eight” amnesty and cheap-labor bill. Democrat’s use of “comprehensive immigration reform” is shorthand for a political deal that would promise better border security for Americans in exchange for an immediate nationwide amnesty that would provide Democrats at least 10 million new voters in a decade.

On June 11, for example, Minnesota Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar touted the 2013 bill to Kevin McAleenan, the acting secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, saying, “Do you think that comprehensive immigration reform that we passed in 2013 in the Senate that was supported by President [Barack] Obama and blocked by the Republican leadership in the House, do you think that would have helped to prevent from happening with all the funding that was there for the border and also having a much more orderly process for legal immigration?”
In recent years, Democrats have adopted an increasingly aggressive pro-migration agenda, despite the myriad economic, civic, and political harm to ordinary Americans. Before Trump’s announcement of a delay to the repatriation of illegal migrants, for example, Pelosi issued a statement that characterized the enforcement of judges’ deportation orders on a few hundred recent migrants as terrorism and a “brutal action.” Pelosi said:
Tomorrow is Sunday, and as many people of faith attend religious services, the President has ordered heartless raids.  It is my hope that before Sunday, leaders of the faith-based community and other organizations that respect the dignity and worth of people will call upon the President to stop this brutal action which will tear families apart and inject terror into our communities.
Families belong together.  These families are hard-working members of our communities and our country.  The President’s action makes no distinction between a status violation and committing a serious crime.
Democrats hope to win this decisive “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” political goal by using business groups to lobby the GOP. In any amnesty deal, business groups would gain tens of millions of new workers, consumers, and renters, so suppressing wages, boosting housing prices, and spiking profits.
For example, the 2013 “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” bill would have provided voting cards to all illegals in the United States and doubled the annual inflow of legal immigrants to 2 million. That annual inflow would have import one new legal immigrant for every two Americans born each year.
The 2013 amnesty would also have allowed companies to hire an unlimited number of foreign graduates for the white-collar professional jobs which are sought by the 800,000 Americans who graduate with skilled degrees each year. The flood of foreign workers would have been delivered by giving greencards to foreigners who get masters degrees from American universities.
Overall, the 2013 Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill would have suppressed wages earned by ordinary Americans while boosting Wall Street stocks by flooding the labor market with lower-skilled immigrants, said a June 2013 report by the Congressional Budget Office,
“Because the bill would increase the rate of growth of the labor force, average wages would be held down in the first decade after enactment by a reduction in the ratio of capital to labor, which would make workers less productive,” said the report, titled, “The Economic Impact of S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act.”
The 2013 bill was blocked by grassroots GOP opposition, which included the 2014 shock defeat of the House GOP’s second-ranking leader, Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor.
In contrast, Trump’s proposed immigration reform bills would fix many border security problems, and also would shrink or stabilize the inflow of new migrants, so boosting wages for Americans.

Immigration by the Numbers
Each year, roughly four million young Americans join the workforce after graduating from high school or university.
But the federal government then imports about 1.1 million legal immigrants and refreshes a resident population of roughly 1.5 million white-collar visa workers — including approximately one million H-1B workers — and approximately 500,000 blue-collar visa workers.
The government also prints out more than one million work permits for foreigners, tolerates about eight million illegal workers, and does not punish companies for employing the hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants who sneak across the border or overstay their legal visas each year.
This policy of inflating the labor supply boosts economic growth for investors because it ensures that employers do not have to compete for American workers by offering higher wages and better working conditions.
Flooding the market with cheap, foreign, white-collar graduates and blue-collar labor also shifts enormous wealth from young employees towards older investors, even as it also widens wealth gaps, reduces high-tech investment, increases state and local tax burdens, and hurts children’s schools and college educations. It also pushes Americans away from high-tech careers and sidelines millions of marginalized Americans, including many who are now struggling with fentanyl addictions. The labor policy also moves business investment and wealth from the Heartland to the coastal citiesexplodes rents and housing costsshrivels real estate values in the Midwest, and rewards investors for creating low-tech, labor-intensive workplaces.

Illegal Immigration Is A Cancer And ICE Is The Chemotherapy

Last Monday, Trump announced, via Twitter, of course, a bold, direct, and, most importantly, necessary move in the war on illegal immigration. ‘The Donald’ informed the country that ICE would be deployed to various American sanctuary cities in order to detain and deport “millions” of illegal aliens. Predictably, this set off a firestorm of hysterics from the left, illegal alien rights groups, and, alas, the media. Yet Trump’s proclamation was right, necessary, and long overdue.
Illegal immigration is a detriment to our national sovereignty, national economy, and, by extension, our national security. Current estimates put the total number of illegal aliens in our country at over 12 million. Exact numbers are difficult to come by for reasons such as citizenship questions on the national census (let’s see if the Supreme Court recognizes that this term).
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) conducted a comprehensive study regarding the financial impact of illegal immigration. Services provided to these some 12 million illegals and their families are just over $135,000,000,000, don’t count the zeroes, that’s BILLIONS. Remember during the 2014 Ebola outbreak when NIH and CDC didn’t have enough money to properly address the problem? Where could the government have found that money? When funding for the Veterans’ Administration was in question, what other purse could have been raided? Of course, federal funding and appropriation laws don’t exactly work that way, but the underlying principle should resonate with anyone who owns a calculator.
Remember the recent government shutdown? $5.7 billion was too much for a wall, but somehow $135 billion in services to illegal aliens is just the cost of government doing business. These are the same arguments, from the same people, who want to mandate what taxes, living wages, and Congressional pay raises should be. Not a comforting realization.
America, with or without illegal aliens, has crime, as does any nation. But is that any justification to import more? From Kate Steinle’s 2015 murder by an illegal to Mollie Tibbett’s 2018 brutal killing, along with the federal government’s report of 2,028 murders by illegals arrested in 2018, an important question arises: Why, through inaction, allow such crimes to persist?
Simply because America already has crime is no justification. If your son or daughter was in the emergency room for a stab wound would you tell the doctor, “Don’t bother stitching him up. He already has pneumonia?" Of course not. If we can’t get rid of our own crime problem, we certainly should not invite more that we can get rid of.
We have serious problems that we must deal with, and deal with effectively.
Sanctuary cities that flout our laws only serve to aggravate an already overwhelming set of problems. Los Angeles and San Francisco, both sanctuary cities, are both crumbling under crises of homelessness and crime. A new app in San Francisco allows people to track human feces in the street. Back in L.A., even Cher, a liberal stalwart, recently felt compelled to tweet about the homeless problem in the City of Angels and the insanity of inviting more.
Sanctuary cities not only serve to exacerbate the tribulations we see every day, they invite them. They are beacons to every illegal border crosser, “Come here, we don’t care about the law or big picture!”
Of course, the Left has attempted to frame the issue of illegal immigration into the only argument they ever make: one of race. Not surprising for a party whose primary tenet is identity politics. If the Left can only see race or gender or sexual orientation, then they can only believe others’ opinions are based on the same. Therein lies their argument. “You don’t want unfettered illegal immigration because of race, not for the actual reasons. Therefore, your opinions are invalid because I believe your basis is in racism.” A complete lie that the media and 2020 candidates tout more often than Joe Biden makes a gaffe.
They conveniently ignore the logical fallacy of their primary economic beliefs, that a welfare state can support everyone that wants in. Free college, free health care, guaranteed free income, free to everyone who wants, yet, free of any rational way to support such a utopia. Free thinkers indeed.
Now the Left has turned its ire on ICE. These federal law enforcement officers are evil, equated to Nazis they shout in almost every sentence. Democratic members of Congress screaming “Concentration camps!” (PLEASE read a history book on the Holocaust!). They may as well work for the Department of Redundancy.
ICE is not evil. ICE is not the problem. Illegal

immigration is the problem. Sanctuary cities are a

symptom of that problem. ICE is simply doing

what is necessary.
As of today, Trump has placed a two-week hold on his plan to detain and deport, hoping Democrats in Congress can do their job and fix the problem. Failing that, people should remember, Illegal immigration is the cancer, sanctuary cities are the tumors, and ICE is the chemotherapy.

Sen. Cotton: If We Can’t Deport Illegal Immigrants with Final Deportation Orders, ‘Who Can We Deport?’

"When we hear stories about the homelessness in California and elsewhere, why don't we hear how illegal aliens contribute to the problem?  They take jobs and affordable housing, yet instead of discouraging illegal aliens from breaking the law, politicians encourage them to come by lavishing free stuff on them with confiscated dollars from this and future generations."  JACK HELLNER

Something journalists, activists and other Democrats never suggest to illegal aliens: abide by the laws Congress passed!

Not once in the article below did the stenographer suggest that illegal aliens abide by the laws Congress writes.  It never seems to enter journalists' minds.  Journalists, activists, and other Democrats tell illegal aliens how to break the law and ignore the law but not that they should follow the law.
Yet every day we hear lectures from the complicit media in collusion with other Democrats about how no one should be above the law in the United States.  Do sanctuary city and state politicians recognize that the public can tell they are encouraging lawbreaking?
When we hear stories about the homelessness in California and elsewhere, why don't we hear how illegal aliens contribute to the problem?  They take jobs and affordable housing, yet instead of discouraging illegal aliens from breaking the law, politicians encourage them to come by lavishing free stuff on them with confiscated dollars from this and future generations.
Sophia Tareen of the Associated Press writes:
Ceci Garcia believes that if her husband had a better understanding of his rights, he would have avoided deportation to Mexico after telling a suburban Chicago police officer during a 2012 traffic stop that he was living in the U.S. illegally.
"He failed to remain silent," said the U.S. citizen mother of five. "He proceeded and told the truth."
From Los Angeles to Atlanta, advocates and attorneys have brought "know-your-rights" workshops to schools, churches, storefronts and consulates, tailoring their efforts on what to do if Immigration and Customs Enforcement shows up at home or on the road. They've role-played interactions, handed out pocket guides, provided hotlines, hosted webinars and offered scripts. The result, advocates argue, is more savvy immigrants who are increasingly refusing to open their doors or provide information, something they hope will blunt any impact of any operation.
"It's more about making sure that people feel like they have some power over what is happening in their lives," said Katarina Ramos, a National Immigrant Justice Center staff attorney. "And that they have some control over what is inherently a very scary situation."
Whether it's the American Civil Liberties Union or a neighborhood nonprofit, the trainings focus on the same ideas: the right to remain silent; refusing officers entry into a home; not signing anything without legal representation; and asking for paperwork from agents. They are rights attorneys say apply to everyone regardless of citizenship status.
There is another story out by the AP about supposed Trump sexual abuse over twenty years ago.
This story has a lot in common with a significant amount of garbage that supposed journalists pollute the public with on a daily basis.  There is zero evidence that the incident occurred, only an allegation.  So why does the story hit the papers?  The answer is to make the public believe that it happened.  As long as it fits the Democrat agenda of destroying Trump, the story is printed.
The Russian collusion story goes on even though there was never any evidence that it happened.
The false story about what Trump said in Charlottesville is still out there.
There was never any evidence that the Jussie Smollett story was true.
The media set out to destroy white Christian boys even though it was clear that the story that they were racists was false from the start.
One of the most despicable examples of false stories when the media helped gin up racial hate, violence, and hate of cops was the false "hands up, don't shoot" narrative.
The examples of the media pushing the Democrat agenda with talking points or anonymous sources instead of facts run on and on.
Isn't it time that the media cared about facts and the law?  Is there any wonder why most of the public doesn't trust them?

GAVIN NEWSOM HEADS TO EL SALVADOR TO AID THE SALVADORIAN INVASION OF THE MEXICAN WELFARE STATE OF CALIFORNIA… It’s your Democrat Politician at work… FOR ILLEGALS!
Last year in fact, that game was going full speed. El Salvador's remittances hit arecord $5.47 billion. Literally one out of six Salvadorans now lives in the U.S., and 680,000 of those make their home in benefit-rich California. Salvadoran politicians actually campaign for office in California, owing to the sizable number of Salvadoran voters, many of whom are here illegally., signaling that there's a lot of work to be had for the newest (and least likely to be legal) migrants in the states now, most of which is coming from California.
Here come Big Daddy, the California governor, the gringo who's already laid out a banquet of goodies for Salvadorans in California, from free health care to free education, to sanctuary state protections to enable illegals to work, coming there supposedly to find out how he can offer ... even more goodies to Salvador's uneducated lower middle classes. The idea of course is to get even more of them to come over. Big Daddy comes down with the Santa sack full of goodies. MONICA SHOWALTER
California's Gov. Gavin Newsom puts out a video for illegals on how to obstruct ICE

I thought it was satire, something cooked up by his political enemies.
You couldn't put out a less attractive video than the one Gavin Newsom did for illegal aliens on Twitter, advising them himself on how to obstruct ICE from any deportation maneuvers.  And sure enough, he wasn't hacked — it really was blue-checked he.

Embedded video

CA will always defend the rights of our immigrant communities.

If ICE agents show up at your door, know your rights:

-You do not have to open the door—you have the right against unlawful searches.

-You have the right to speak to a lawyer.

-You have the right to remain silent.

Leave aside the fact that he's the governor of a U.S. state, supposedly there to represent the interests of that state's citizens rather than those of the foreigners who come here without papers, quite illegally, and run up the tab using his state's services.  They're his constituents, too, now, in fact, the ones whose interests he chooses to represent over those of the voters (oh, wait...).  He's acting as Their Lawyer now, advising them how to thwart ICE like some National Lawyers Guild activist in how to obstruct the feds legally.
It's also insulting to voters.  Newsom cited Proposition 187 in the 1990s as something "we've been through before," as if to say voters never approved this measure to keep illegals from using "free" U.S. services until it was overturned by the courts.  And more creepy still, he cites the "three strikes" law, as if to acknowledge that illegals commit quite a few crimes while they are here sopping up the services.  It's also well out of the realm of reality, given that voters polled say they aren't happy with his handing out of free health care to the foreign population here illegally in a bid to incentivize more to come.
But what a strange presentation it was.  Play it with the sound down and look at how he tosses and tilts his head back and forth, kind of manically, his chemically whitened teeth flashing forced and fake smiles, and his eyes widening and eyebrows rising, up and down, up and down...  It's kind of like Peter Strzok's forced performance in the spygate hearings over in Congress.  He looks creepy.
If you were an illegal on the lam from the feds and expecting a knock at the door, would you really believe a guy like this?  Paternally protective, he is not.
That says something about this whole weird gambit: that it's not about protecting illegals, not in the slightest, any more than it's about protecting the interests of taxpaying Californians.  It's not even in Spanish, which even a non-Spanish-speaker can manage with the words written down on a teleprompter.  Nope, it's in English, and most illegals won't understand it.
It's about countering and thwarting President Trump.  That's Newsom's agenda.  He's out telling illegals how to obstruct ICE agents who are trying to enforce the law of the land in the interest of making himself the state's only law.  It's disgusting.  And he doesn't look good doing it.  I suspect that this will turn up in some opposition research campaign ad from a competitor.  It's that bad.

In the last two years, ICE officers made 266,000 arrests of aliens with criminal records, including those charged or convicted of 100,000 assaults, 30,000 s ex crimes, and 4,000 violent k illings. Over the years, thousands of Americans have been brutally k illed by those who illegally entered our country, and thousands more lives will be lost if we don't act right now.

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform’s 2017 report, illegal immigrants, and their children, cost American taxpayers a net $116 billion annually -- roughly $7,000 per alien annually. While high, this number is not an outlier: a recent study by the Heritage Foundation found that low-skilled immigrants (including those here illegally) cost Americans trillions over the course of their lifetimes, and a study from the National Economics Editorial found that illegal immigration costs America over $140 billion annually. As it stands, illegal immigrants are a massive burden on American taxpayers.

Eric Swalwell Encourages Hispanics to Take Fight Against Trump to the ‘Streets’

Hispanic voters should take their fight against President Trump to the “streets,” Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) suggested in a tweet Saturday.

The Democrat presidential candidate spouted a series of falsehoods in a tweet posted Saturday, accusing Trump of breaking up Hispanic families and caging children just for kicks. He also accused Trump of seeking to “erase” the Hispanic population’s existence by way of a basic census citizenship question.
“If you’re Hispanic, there’s nothing @realDonaldTrump won’t do to break up your family, cage your children, or erase your existence with a weaponized census,” Swalwell tweeted.
“And there’s nothing we won’t do in the streets, courts, and at the ballot box to stop him. #FamiliesBelongTogether,” he added.

If you’re Hispanic, there’s nothing @realDonaldTrump wont do to break up your family, cage your children, or erase your existence with a weaponized census. And there’s nothing we won’t do in the streets, courts, and at the ballot box to stop him.

Of course, all of his accusations are patently false. Trump is not a racist, despite the mainstream media’s large scale attempt to characterize him as such. Swalwell also fails to recognize the difference between illegal and legal Hispanic migrants.
While the left’s focus has been on the “breaking up of families,” illegal migrants often do that on their own accord.
As Breitbart News previously reported:
An additional 2,104 migrant children and youths have been reunited with their migrant parents, according to the data recently provided to a judge by the Department of Health and Human Services. But many of their parents may choose to leave some of the 1,2014 children and youths in the United States when judges eject the parents’ asylum pleas.
“There’s a lot of people from Central America who are willing to leave their kids here, rather than take them back,” said Mark Krikorian, the director of the Center for Immigration Studies.
It should also be noted that the alarming photos of children in warehouses were taken during the Obama administration.
As Breitbart News reported in 2014:
Breitbart Texas obtained internal federal government photos depicting the conditions of foreign children warehoused by authorities on U.S. soil on Wednesday night. Thousands of illegal immigrants have overrun U.S. border security and their processing centers in Texas along the U.S./Mexico border. Unaccompanied minors, including young girls under the age of 12, are making the dangerous journey from Central America and Mexico, through cartel-controlled territories, and across the porous border onto U.S. soil.
Notable, though, is Swalwell’s purported call for violence.
“And there’s nothing we won’t do in the streets, courts, and at the ballot box to stop him,” he wrote.

Lindsey Graham’s Amnesty-for-Migration-Fix Swap Gets Boost from Donald Trump’s Deportation Delay

President Donald Trump’s decision to delay a small-scale deportation operation has created an opening for Sen. Lindsey Graham’s push to swap an amnesty for border reforms, say pro-immigration reformers.

Graham already “is negotiating with [Democratic Sen. Richard] Durbin  — [and] he’s not pulling the Republicans together” to present a united front, said Jessica Vaughan, policy director at the Center for Immigration Studies.
On June 19, for example, Graham told Democratic Senators at a committee meeting that he is willing to trade an amnesty to get a border fixes. “I am willing to deal with DACA [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] … We will take a couple of weeks to see if we can find a compromise,” he said.
Trump announced the enforcement delay on Sunday afternoon, amid rising efforts by Democrats to block border reforms or even the implementation of judges’ deportation orders.
“At the request of Democrats, I have delayed the Illegal Immigration Removal Process (Deportation) for two weeks to see if the Democrats and Republicans can get together and work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border,” Trump tweeted Saturday afternoon. “If not, Deportations start!”
The delay was likely forced by top-level leaks of the deportation efforts, say reformers. Once the details were leaked, officials recognized that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) teams could face difficulties in finding the migrants who have been told by judges to go home. Also, officials worried that the ICE teams would be blocked by groups of pro-migration activists.
But Trump’s tweet widens the danger that Graham and other pro-migration GOP Senators could work with Democrats to push through an amnesty-for-partial-reform deal, said Vaughan. “Lindsey Graham has convinced the president that he needs a couple of weeks to pull together a deal on the asylum reforms with amnesty as the trade-off … [although] it is not clear if the President has drunk the kool-aid or has decided to give Lindsey Graham some working room,” she said.
On June 19, Graham announced he was delayed writing up a border reform bill in the hope of getting a deal with the pro-migration Democrat Senators, led by Sen. Richard Durbin (D-IL), one of the co-authors of the 2013 Gang of Eight “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” amnesty.
But Durbin has little incentive to negotiate a deal that seems to be a win for Trump. Instead, Durbin’s primary incentive is defeating Trump in 2020 — and he is using the migrant rush to blame Trump for the Democrat-caused chaos on the border. During a June 19 vote at the Senate appropriations committee, Durbin said:
We must acknowledge the obvious, that the last two and half years under the President Trump administration have seen our immigration and border security policies in disarray. Despite tough talk and harsh penalties, our southern border is much less secuture today than when Donald Trump took office. In just the last three months, more people have been apprehended at the border than in all of fiscal 2017.
Because of that “disarray,” Durbin added that he does not want to give more funds, needed by the border agencies, to lessen the disarray. “I’m reluctant to provide any funding to this administration to promulgate this chaos,” he said.
“Democrats want to ensure that this crisis lingers for political reasons — more voters for them down the line and something Trump’s base could view as a total failure in 2020,” said RJ Hauman, government relations director at the Federation for American Immigration Reform. “Democrats want to keep the asylum loopholes driving the crisis, they want to continue catch-and-release,” he told Breitbart.
Simultaneously, Durbin and other Democratic Senators are trying to revive the discredited 2013 “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” amnesty-and-cheap-labor bill which Sen. Graham also helped to draft and pass through the Senate.
On June 11, for example, Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar touted the elite-boosting 2013 bill to Kevin McAleenan, the acting secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, saying:
Do you think that comprehensive immigration reform that we passed in 2013 in the Senate that was supported by President [Barack] Obama and blocked by the Republican leadership in the House, do you think that would have helped to prevent from happening with all the funding that was there for the border and also having a much more orderly process for legal immigration?
In any deal with Graham, Vaughan said, the Democrats will push to minimize any changes to the asylum laws which allow a huge number of migrants to overwhelm the nation’s courts with weak claims for asylum. Democrats will also push for passage of their latest “Dream and Promise Act of 2019,” which would give greencards to at least 4 million migrants without even curbing subsequent chain-migration of their relatives. The Dream and Promise act is open-ended because it would give a greencard to anyone who could claim they got into the United States before age 18 and would make it almost impossible for officials to reject false claims, she said.
Graham has sketched his side of the deal, and told Senators on June 19:
If we don’t change our asylum law and Flores [catch and release] decision — thus never stops. The word is out in Central American, particularly that if you can bring a small child to America, you are going to stay …
I am willing to invest in Central America. I am willing to spend $4.3 billion to make the border a more humane situation. I am willing to deal with DACA [amnesty for younger illegals] …
I am not willing to continue the practice that our laws are generating, which is to tell everyone in Central America that the door is open, come. We’re going to postpone our markup that would change this problem by changing our asylum laws and [replace Flores to] give 100 days to process minor children, not 20.
Whether we get there or not, I don’t know, but nobody has tried harder than Senator Durbin. We’ve met with the White House so we’re going to take a couple of weeks to see if we can find a compromise to shut down this flow because if we don’t … you better get ready to do this again, and again, and again, and again.
Graham also told the Senators he wants a law that would allow Central Americans to apply for asylum without leaving their home countries. “All I am asking is that we take asylum claims in-country or in Mexico, to stop the incentive to come here.”
“We don’t discuss negotiations … The hope is to get something signed into law,” Graham’s press secretary told Breitbart. “Right now we can pass something with only GOP votes in committee but won’t have enough (60) to get through Senate. That means the status quo – which is a disaster – continues.”
But Graham’s push faces many problems.
Trump’s deputies are finding no-amnesty fixes to the Democrats’ reform blockade. For example, Trump is using tariffs to pressure Mexico and Guatemala to shrink the flow of migrants into the United States, and his regulators are expected to soon publish a regulation which shrinks the Flores catch-and-release loophole.
Trump’s supporters strongly oppose an amnesty: “We will make one thing clear over the next few weeks — amnesty in exchange for watered down asylum provisions or a couple billion dollar supplemental would be the worst immigration deal of all time,” said Hauman.
A group of GOP Senators is moving against the Durbin-Graham deal, said Vaughan. So far, she said, Graham is “ignoring his Republican colleague and is sidelining them to make a deal with one of the more extremist Democrats,” she said.
Also, many Democrat progressives favor migrants over Americans, and strongly oppose curbs on migration. For example, many Democrats opposed Trump’s planned effort to enforce judges’ deportation orders, Hauman noted. “If Democrats think illegal aliens with final orders of removal (including those who filed an asylum claim and lost) can’t be deported, then who can be? How can the White House even negotiate with them?” he wrote.
For example, Bernie Sanders told CBS’ Face the Nation on June 23 that he opposes Trump’s decision to deport migrants who have been ordered home by judges. “I don’t like this deportation thing at all and I think Trump uses this as a beginning to do worse things to come.”
Trump is also throwing doubt on whether Democrats will allow the nation’s immigration law to be reformed or even enforced. His Saturday tweet announcing the delay also said that the deal “Probably won’t happen, but worth a try,” adding “Two weeks and big Deportation begins!”
In an interview broadcast June 23, Trump also scoffed at Democrats’ claims to want to fix the migration crisis. Trump told NBC’s Chuck Todd:
We’re doing a fantastic job under the circumstances. The Democrats aren’t even approving giving us money. Where is the money? You know what? The Democrats are holding up the humanitarian aid … if the Democrats would change the asylum laws and the loopholes, which they refuse to do because they think it’s good politics, everything would be solved immediately. But they refuse to do it. They refuse to do it … If they changed asylum and if they changed loopholes everything on the border would be perfect.
