VIDEO: Democrat Bill Would Give an Amnesty to 54,000 Criminals

Washington, D.C. (June 20, 2019) -  H.R. 6, the American Dream and Promise Act of 2019, would grant an amnesty to three to four million illegal aliens, 700,000 of whom applied for the original DACA. Jessica Vaughan, the Center’s director of policy studies, discusses the need for DACA secondary screening. Inadequate vetting has already led to DACA status for 54,000 individuals with criminal arrests. Further, this amnesty would establish two different standards of behavior for receiving legal status – one for illegal aliens and one for those who come here legally.

Border Patrol Chief Carla Provost: Highest Level of Observed ‘Got Aways’ Since FY14

(CNSNews.com) – U.S. Border Patrol Chief Chief Carla Provost told Congress Thursday that the Border Patrol to date has documented more than 100,000 illegal immigrants disappearing into the U.S. before agents could respond this fiscal year – a five-year high.

That number “is the highest level of ‘got aways’ since Fiscal Year (FY) 2014,” she wrote in her written testimony for a House Homeland Security subcommittee hearing, titled, “Examining the Department of Defense’s Deployment to the U.S.-Mexico Border.”

It is also the result of Border Patrol agents being reassigned to provide humanitarian support for detained migrants instead of patrolling the border,” the CBP chief said.

Provost said almost 600,000 illegals were apprehended between ports of entry along the southern border in Fiscal Year 2019 up through last month.

“This fiscal year through May, Border Patrol has apprehended over 593,000 illegal aliens between ports of entry along the southwest border. CBP’s Office of Field Operations encountered an additional 80,000+ inadmissible individuals at ports of entry along the southwest border. This year-to-date level exceeds the full-year apprehensions of any fiscal year in the last decade,” she wrote.

In addition, CBP “set an unfortunate new record of the largest migrant group ever apprehended—more than a thousand migrants illegally crossing the border together in El Paso, Texas, in late May,” Provost wrote.

“The demographic shift towards more vulnerable populations, combined with overwhelming numbers, has caused 40 to 60 percent of Border Patrol agents to be pulled away from our border security mission to provide humanitarian support—that’s 40 to 60 percent of our frontline workforce that is not available to stop drugs, gang members, and dangerous criminals from entering our country,” she added.

“In addition to the nearly 600,000 apprehensions to date, Border Patrol has documented more than 100,000 individuals who successfully crossed the border illegally and disappeared into border communities before agents could respond,” Provost noted.

“This is the highest level of observed ‘got aways’ since Fiscal Year (FY) 2014. This high level of ‘got aways’ is a direct result of agents being reassigned away from the frontline to provide humanitarian support to the unprecedented numbers of individuals and families in custody. In FY 2019 to date, UAC and family units represent 66 percent of all southwest border inadmissible individuals and apprehensions,” she stated.

Recently released video by presumed members of “La Gente Nueva del Tigre” of the Sinaloa Cartel threaten “La Linea” of the Juarez Cartel. The poor-quality footage circulated on social media for several days and has authorities bracing for more violence.

The video depicts individuals dressed in tactical gear with their faces covered, holding rifles as the narrator identifies the group as members of Gente Nueva del El Tigre. The narrator issues a threat to their rivals, La Línea, who he described as “thieves, kidnappers, and extortionists” and threatened their supporters—including local ministerial police. The narrator states they have respect for the federal government. They accuse the state police of Chihuahua of being involved in the distribution of methamphetamine.
Breitbart News reports extensively on the ongoing war between El Nuevo Cartel de Juárez/La Línea and the El Cartel del Tigre/Sinaloa Cartel. The violence has centered in the western mountainous communities of Chihuahua, which provides lucrative smuggling routes into the United States. The bloody turf war has led to numerous murders impacting rival criminals and police elements.
In October 2018, six decapitated bodies were dumped in the nearby rural mountain community of Creel. In November, Breitbart News reported on the kidnapping, interrogation, and murder of a Cuauhtémoc municipal police officer which was videotaped and released on social media. Breitbart News also reported on the capture of Julio Cesar “El Tigre” Escarcega Murillo, who was the leader of El Cartel del Tigre and previously served as a Cuauhtémoc municipal police officer from 2004 to 2007.
In April 2019, 30 gunmen from La Gente Nueva carried out a series of attacks in Anáhuac, located southwest of the state capital of Chihuahua. A barrage of gunfire was directed at a police substation while trying to free a fellow operative.
