WATCH: Mexican Authorities Find Cartel Bunker near Texas Border
CAMARGO, Tamaulipas — Mexican authorities seized three armored SUVs hidden inside an underground bunker near the border with Texas. The structure was hidden to make it look like it was part of the landscape.
Mexican authorities carrying out routine patrols in Camargo, Tamaulipas, spotted an unusual hill-like structure that, upon closer inspection, was found to be a purpose-built bunker with three newer model SUVs that were armored.
A video taken by Mexican authorities reveals in detail the steps that cartel members took to hide the bunker. A Mexican official is heard speaking behind the camera as he describes the way dry ice was used to cover the front doors and how cacti were placed on top to blend with the terrain.
Camargo is immediately south of Rio Grande City, Texas, in an area also known as La Ribereña that is considered to be one of the main drug smuggling routes into the country. Currently, the area is controlled by the Gulf Cartel, however, there have been multiple incursions by factions of Los Zetas to take control of the area by force. The Gulf Cartel has gone through various internal fights that also led to multiple gun battles where gunmen used armored SUVs like the ones seized.

Gulf Cartel Shoots At U.S. Border Patrol Agents on Rio Grande
2:11
MCALLEN, Texas — Gulf Cartel gunmen fired what are believed to be AK-47s or similar weapons at U.S. Border Patrol agents on the Rio Grande. None were injured.
The shooting took place early Friday morning just south of Fronton, Texas. The agents were not struck by the gunfire, however, their boat was hit several times. The U.S. Border Patrol RGV Sector Office confirmed the incident to Breitbart Texas and advised it would issue additional information throughout the day.
Mexican authorities responded to the area after they received notification from the U.S. government about a shooting just west of Los Guerra, a Tamaulipas law enforcement source revealed to Breitbart Texas. Mexican authorities were not able to find any gunmen but did find “signs of activity.”
The area south of Fronton is a known smuggling corridor for the Gulf Cartel that is seeing an escalation of violence as rival factions continue to fight for turf. This week, rival convoys not far Camargo shot two innocent victims in a passenger bus.
Statement from U.S. Border Patrol:
Early this morning, agents assigned to the Rio Grande City Station Marine Unit patrolling near Fronton, Texas, reported they were fired upon from the Mexican riverbank. Agents saw four subjects with automatic weapons who shot over 50 rounds at them. The boat was hit several times but no one on board was injured.
This is a developing story.

ICE Arrests 680 Illegal Aliens in Largest Single-State Raid in U.S. History
2:28
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency arrested 680 illegal aliens who had been working at seven Mississippi food processing plants, federal officials confirmed on Wednesday.
ICE agents conducted the largest single-state raid in United States history and the largest workplace raid in the last 11 years when they arrested 680 illegal aliens at seven food processing plants across six cities in Mississippi, including plants in Bay Springs, Carthage, Canton, Morton, Pelahatchie, and Sebastapol.
Not since 2008 — when about 595 illegal workers were arrested — has this many illegal aliens been arrested in a workplace raid by ICE.
According to federal officials, some of the hundreds of illegal aliens arrested on Wednesday have already been ordered deported by an immigration judge and have refused to self-deport. Those illegal aliens will be quickly deported.
Other illegal aliens have yet to go through the immigration courts and will be afforded a review process where they will make a case to remain in the U.S.
U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi Mike Hurst told the media at a press conference:
We are first and foremost a nation of laws and the Rule of Law is the bedrock, the very foundation, of our great country. I heard someone say that a country without borders is not a country at all and while I agree with that, I would also add that without law there is no order. Without the enforcement of law, there is no justice.
The food processing plants raided by ICE include the Koch Foods Inc. facility in Morton, Mississippi. The plant is not associated with the GOP mega-donor billionaires Charles and David Koch.
ICE officials said the investigation into the illegal aliens and their employers is ongoing and could not comment on specifics of the case.
“These are not victimless crimes,” an ICE official said. “Illegal workers create vulnerabilities in the marketplace … as well as stealing the identities of legal U.S. workers, citizens, and legal immigrants alike, who must suffer the long-lasting consequences of their stolen identities.”

Beto O’Rourke Cancels Campaign Trips in Iowa to Visit Mexico 34
Former Congressman Beto O’Rourke canceled his campaign events in Iowa on Thursday in favor of a trip to Mexico.
O’Rourke dropped his scheduled appearances at the Iowa State fair and a handful of Iowa political events, announcing his plan to travel to Juárez, Mexico instead on Thursday.
He is scheduled to meet with Chihuahua Governor Javier Corral Jurado and Ciudad Juárez Mayor Armando Cabada to discuss the relationship between the two countries and attend a funeral of one of the Mexican shooting victims in Juárez.
O’Rourke said Wednesday he was “not even thinking about politics,” as he continued to rally his community against Donald Trump, blaming the president for inspiring a mass shooting at a War-Mart in El Paso, Texas.
“No part of me right now is thinking about politics; is thinking about any campaign or election,” he told reporters. “All of me is with and thinking about this community.”
Choking back tears, O’Rourke publicly announced Saturday he would suspend his campaign to return to El Paso.

“I’m going back there right now to be with my family and to be with my hometown,” he said.
After five days off the campaign trail, O’Rourke appears to have little interest in returning to early primary states like Iowa.
Since he returned to El Paso, he has enjoyed an unusual rise in media coverage as he repeatedly blamed President Donald Trump for the shooting and described him as a white supremacist.
At a vigil for the slain victims, O’Rourke compared Trump’s rhetoric to a speech from the “Third Reich,” referring to Nazi Germany and said Trump was giving racists and white supremacists permission to act on hate.
“Jesus Christ, of course he’s racist,” O’Rourke said about Trump during one of his many television appearances from El Paso. “He’s been racist from day one … He’s trafficked in this stuff from the very beginning, and we are reaping right now what he has sown and what his supporters in Congress have sown.” O’Rourke also joined a “counter-rally” as Trump visited some of the wounded victims in El Paso and members of law enforcement.
“As bad as this may sound, could this moment be a chance for Beto to gain some momentum?” wondered MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle after one of O’Rourke’s interviews.
The 2020 candidate’s continued media spotlight earned derision from Trump who suggested he “be quiet” in respect of the shooting victims.

Former Congressman Beto O’Rourke will speak at a counter-rally in El Paso, Texas, on Wednesday as President Donald Trump visits victims of Saturday’s mass shooting.
The event will take place Wednesday afternoon in an El Paso park, according to the Associated Press. O’Rourke has also scheduled a visit to a memorial at a high school and a memorial outside the Walmart where the shooter shot and killed 22 people.
O’Rourke’s decision to protest Trump recalls his February counter-rally prior to announcing his run for president, protesting Trump’s political rally in El Paso.
The president himself recalled the February rally on Tuesday, noting that he “trounced” O’Rourke with bigger crowds:

Since the shooting, O’Rourke traveled back to El Paso and publicly accused the president of inspiring the mass shooter.
Trump told O’Rourke to “be quiet” for the sake of the victims and first responders:

“Twenty-two people in my hometown are dead after an act of terror inspired by your racism,” O’Rourke responded. “El Paso will not be quiet and neither will I”:

Graphic Video: Cartel Boss Executed in Mexican Border State Capital Restaurant
2:51
A brazen Sunday cartel assassination inside a Sonora capital city restaurant is sparking fears of escalated turf violence throughout the Mexican border state abutting Arizona.
A cartel hit targeting the alleged regional boss for the Sinaloa Cartel faction “Los Salazar” occurred at approximately 8 pm inside the Ballpark Restaurant Sunday. The plaza boss was identified as Sergio Alberto del Villar Suárez, aka “El Napoleón,” according to local reports. He was executed by an unknown gunman while sitting at a table with two females. Security video shows a man remove a concealed weapon from his waistband before twice shooting El Napoleón. A family with children sitting at the adjacent table was unharmed.

Sonora is seeing a significant uptick in cartel violence. Breitbart Texas law enforcement sources indicate the recent execution is raising fears of an escalated turf war between rival cartel-affiliated gangs. Breitbart Texas recently reported on the continued attacks against police with the 15th officer killed over the past weekend. The deadly cartel attacks mostly occur in the southern and capital sections of the state, with incidents emerging in tourist port Guaymas as well.
El Napoleón was the subject of his own narco-corrido by singer Javier Rosas. The coded lyrics boast of how the “merchandise” is always delivered to its “destination” while tricking U.S. law enforcement.
Narcocorridos are popular, yet controversial, in both Mexico and the U.S. The modern folk songs are often about drug lords or those dedicated to the trade, glorifying a violent lifestyle. The tracks usually draw anger from rivals. This blowback has, at times, resulted in singers being killed. A Sonora performer from a group called “Los Ronaldos” was gunned down in July.
In October 2018, El Napoleón was arrested with four other suspected gunmen after a series of attacks on Guaymas municipal police. El Napoleón was later released without charges filed.
