The campaign arm of the nation’s largest abortion provider is gearing up for 2020. Planned Parenthood launched its “We Decide 2020” campaign, which will pump a hefty $45 million into Democratic campaigns. This endeavor will be the organization’s largest campaign effort to date. The “We Decide 2020” campaign will zero-in on swing states, including Pennsylvania, Colorado, Florida, Arizona, Michigan, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Carolina.
This monumental effort comes on the heels of numerous controversial abortion laws at the state level. Although most abortion bans have been halted by federal judges, 12 states passed legislation in 2019 that restricts abortion access depending upon the trimester. Alabama went as far as to ban abortion outright, while other states such as Ohio, Georgia, and Mississippi passed a ban on abortions after 6 weeks, the earliest a fetal heartbeat has been detected.
Planned Parenthood donates exclusively to Democrats, specifically candidates who favor zero restrictions on abortion. Planned Parenthood is also leading the fight for the repeal of the Hyde Amendment, which bans federal funding of abortions.
The radical agenda pushed by Planned Parenthood is irrefutably extreme, but its ability to bankroll campaigns is a huge incentive for Democrats to embrace the organization’s pro-abortion agenda. When advocating for unlimited abortion up until birth, with no restrictions, funded by taxpayers, Planned Parenthood leaves the pro-choice viewpoint behind.
Planned Parenthood pulled out of Title X funding last August, after President Trump backed them into a corner with an ultimatum: forego performing abortions or lose federal funding. Planned Parenthood chose the latter, of course, giving up 60 million dollars per year from taxpayers, despite the group’s alarmist narrative that federal dollars must be funneled to Planned Parenthood in order to ensure healthcare for women.

Between the group’s move to willingly forego 60 million dollars annually, and its ability to spend 45 million dollars in one campaign cycle, it's becoming clear that taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood is not so dire after all.
