As Breitbart News has previously reported, sanctuary counties in California release thousands of illegal aliens back into American communities every day, according to federal immigration officials. In Los Angeles, California, for example, up to 100 criminal illegal aliens are released every day from police custody.
Violent
Crime Up Twice the National Average in Part of California
http://www.breitbart.com/california/2017/09/27/violent-crime-up-double-the-national-average-in-part-of-california/
Violent crime is up across
the country, but in some pockets of California, violent offenses —
including murder, rape, robbery and assault — are up twice the national
average, according to an FBI report released Monday.
While property crimes were down both
nationally and in California, violent crimes spiked almost 4% in the Golden
State, even though some in academia made a point to downplay the dramatic
increase, according to the San Francisco Chronicle:
In California, 1,930 people were slain last year, an increase of
3.7 percent that came on the heels of a rise of 9.7 percent the previous year.
But the 2016 rate — 4.9 victims for every 100,000 population — is relatively
low compared with the rate 10 years earlier (6.9) and far lower than the rate
in 1980 (14.4).
“The overall picture is that homicide and violent crime rates
went up dramatically in the 1970s and ’80s and ’90s, and then underwent a
dramatic drop in the last 20 years, and leveled off,” said Robert Weisberg, a
Stanford University criminal law professor and co-director of the school’s
Criminal Justice Center.
The FBI’s 2016 numbers, he said, “are not inconsistent with
that.”
Still, Bay Area law enforcement officials have expressed concern
about the recent trend, opening up a debate over whether crime has gone up due
to several factors, including the effort to reduce jail and prison populations
and a struggle in some places to recruit and retain officers.
And Bay Area law enforcement officials are not the only ones
wondering if recent prison and sentencing reforms have led to the dramatic
increase.
Sacramento’s NBC affiliate (KCRA) reports that
the
[v]iolent crime rate — which includes the number of homicides,
rape, robbery and assault — was 716.3 per 100,000 people in 2016. Nationally,
the violent crime rate was 386.3.
With violent crime in Sacramento rising at twice the national rate, there are
additional questions about the impact of Gov. Jerry Brown’s signature
prison reform, known as “AB109 Realignment.” That measure transferred many
dangerous and violent felons from state to county supervision, and effectively
commuted many sentences. It also put violent felons back on the streets
and ended state parole supervision for those offenders altogether.
In February, California’s law
enforcement community was rocked when a Whittier police officer, Keith Boyer,
53, was murdered by an unsupervised AB109 offender, who would have been behind bars had he been subject to state
parole supervision.
While Brown has not yet signed the “Sanctuary State” bill, which would
make California a sanctuary for criminal illegal aliens, it is
unlikely that the latest alarming rise in violent crime would stop him.

a book tour for his new book: Patriot Not Politician: Win or Go Homeless. He also ran for governor in 2014.

A twice-deported illegal alien, accused of murdering three men in the sanctuary state of California, has been arrested by law enforcement officials.
Jose Luis Torres Garcia, a 33-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, was identified this week by Riverside County Sheriff’s Office in Southern California for allegedly murdering three men execution-style, as Breitbart News reported. The victims include 50-year-old Jaime Covarrubias Espindola, 38-year-old Jose Maria Aguilar-Espejel, and 28-year-old Rodrigo Aguilar-Esepjel.
Garcia had been on the run, fleeing to Cheyenne, Wyoming, but was arrested by local authorities there when he was pulled over for a traffic stop. During his arrest, police found 15 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle.
According to law enforcement, Garcia already has an active warrant for his arrest for allegedly drunk driving and a warrant for drug crimes before the murders. Though the illegal alien was previously deported from the U.S. twice, he returned to California at an unknown time following his last deportation.
Law enforcement officials were worried that Garcia may have fled to Mexico before locating him. He will now be held on a $3 million bond for the murders.

Cuccinelli: Rate of Crime Among Illegals Should Be Zero – They Shouldn’t Be Here
By Melanie Arter | February 28, 2020 | 3:12pm EST
(CNSNews.com) – DHS Acting Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli said that when Democrats defend sanctuary cities, their argument is usually that the rate of crime among illegal immigrants is no different than the rest that of U.S. citizens.
That’s not the point, Cuccinelli said. The rate of crime among illegal aliens should be zero, because they shouldn’t be in the United States.
That’s not the point, Cuccinelli said. The rate of crime among illegal aliens should be zero, because they shouldn’t be in the United States.
During a discussion at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in National Harbor, Md., on Friday, moderator and Fox News contributor Deneen Borelli asked Rich Valdes, host of the “This is America” podcast, to comment on the case of an illegal alien who was released by NYPD in November 2019 with an active ICE detainer because of New York City’s sanctuary policies and went on to allegedly murder a 92-year-old woman in January 2020.
Valdes he told her he had a personal connection to the victim.
“Reeaz Khan, an unlawfully present Guyanese national was arrested Jan. 10 by the New York police department and charged with murder, sexual abuse, contact by forcible compulsion and sexual abuse against the person incapable of consent. Con was previously released from a local law enforcement in November 2019 with an active detainer due to New York City’s sanctuary policies. The victim is a 92 years old woman. There was an active ICE detainer, which was ignored by local law enforcement,” Borelli said.
“What Deneen was talking about, something hit really close to home. We were talking and I was telling her I got a text from my brother about that story. It was from Fox News, and I told him I’d already seen the story, I read it in the New York Post, and he said you’re missing the point. I said what's the point, and he says that is Darius' grandmother. And I said, oh wow,” Valdes said.
“Darius is his sister-in-law's cousin grandmother, so there’s like two degrees of separation. I said oh my gosh. That's when it became incredibly real that this was not just a sweet and innocent, poor woman that was strangled, raped and murdered in Queens, but it was actually someone that we knew. It really, that pulls the heart strings and it makes you think. It gives you pause and says, who cares about your politics. We have to put America first and the security and safety of our citizens,” Valdes added.
Cuccinelli said it was “one of the more stark and violent tragedies we’ve seen, partly because it’s one of the more helpless victims, but at the same time, we have seen this happen to children from people who we had requested, Department of Homeland Security, ICE had requested from previous arrests that criminals be turned over to us.”

You’ll hear two things frequently - I won't say in defense, because there’s really no defense, but on the other side. One is that well, the rate of crime among illegal aliens is no different than any others. I won't even argue over that, because it doesn’t matter.
The reality is in this woman's case, in the Fuentes case, and many of the children I’m thinking of, and we’re sitting here in PG County. They had MS-13 murder of a 14-year-old girl last summer with their policies right here in this county, and these are crimes that should never happen. It isn’t a question of the rate of crime. The rate should be zero, because the criminals shouldn’t be in this country.
And we have given these communities the way to protect themselves by removing these violent criminals from their communities. So zero, that's argument one. Argument two is that the victims have no voice. They have no voice. So when you are a PG county right here where we sit or New York City, they're literally defending criminals. This is not against President Trump. They're defending criminals at the expense of victims. So who are you for? Well, Mayor Deblasio’s for criminals. Governor Cuomo’s for criminals.
We can go around the country to mayors and governors across the country who are literally picking criminals over crime victims in completely preventable crimes. That’s the worst of all here is how completely avoidable all of this is. These aren’t percentages or odds or maybe it will happen to me.
These are literally crimes that could have been completely prevented, 100% guarantee if they had simply cooperated with Immigration and Customs Enforcement with ICE, with the Department of Homeland Security and with President Trump's effort to keep all of you safe and everyone else in America as well.
When asked why Democrat support sanctuary cities, Valdes said it comes down to money and congressional seats.
“Coming up in politics, somebody taught me a long time ago and they said it’s about the money, and when it’s not about the money, it’s about the money. I think there’s so much truth in that. I think irrespective of how people will vote it’s more about heads and head count and Census and redistricting, congressional redistricting, congressional seats,” he said.
“The more people you have, the more money, the power of the purse. That's what it comes down to, and I think they're putting not only party but politics over patriotism, and that’s sinful,” Valdes added.

ICE:
Sanctuary California Hiding Details on Accused Illegal Alien Child Abusers

The Immigration and Customs
Enforcement (ICE) agency is accusing the sanctuary state of California of
refusing to disclose if they plan to release a number of criminal illegal
aliens, including those accused of crimes against children.
This week, ICE officials sent
subpoenas to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office (SDCSO) asking for
whereabout information and if the sanctuary state plans on releasing a series
of illegal aliens.
“Issuance of these immigration
subpoenas is necessary because the SDCSO is forced to comply with California’s
sanctuary state laws, and therefore cannot cooperate in honoring immigration
detainers or requests for non-public information to assist in locating criminal
aliens that have been or will be released from custody,” an ICE release stated.
Specifically, ICE officials are
seeking information on these four illegal aliens:
A 40-year-old illegally present Mexican
national who was arrested in December … for continuing sexual abuse of a child,
lewd and lascivious act of a child under fourteen years old, and oral
copulation with a person under fourteen years old. An immigration detainer was lodged with the SDSO. He
has two DUI convictions, both from 2009. He has been returned to Mexico on
eleven occasions between 2009 and 2011. He remains in SDSO custody at the
county jail; [Emphasis added]
A 42-year-old illegally present
Mexican national who was arrested for first degree robbery … in November 2019. He has a prior conviction for possession of a controlled
substance (methamphetamine) from 2013. A federal immigration judge granted him
voluntarily departure, but he failed to depart the United States as ordered.
After his November 2019 arrest, an immigration detainer was lodged with SDSO
but due to California sanctuary state laws the detainer was not
honored, and he was released back into the community; [Emphasis added]
A 31-year-old illegally present
Mexican national who was arrested … for battery of spouse and false
imprisonment in December 2019. He has a prior
conviction for deceptive government identification, 2008. U.S.
immigration authorities previously returned or removed him from the U. S. three
times between 2008 and 2010. ICE lodged an immigration detainer with SDSO
following his December arrest but due to California sanctuary state
laws the detainer was not honored, and he was released back into the community;
[Emphasis added]
A 28-year-old illegally present Mexican
national who was arrested for assault with force, great bodily injury, child
cruelty and battery of spouse … He was
previously arrested in 2017 for battery on spouse by local law enforcement. He
was returned to Mexico multiple times in 2004. A final order of removal was
issued by a federal immigration judge in January 2018 and he was removed to
Mexico. Once again, he illegally reentered the United States. An
immigration detainer was lodged with the SDSO and he remains in custody.
[Emphasis added]
“The public needs to be aware and
concerned that California sanctuary state laws do not protect public safety and
is bad public policy,” ICE official Gregory Archambeault said.
“Criminal aliens are being released
back into the community daily and most will re-offend resulting in more
victims,” Archambeault said. “For ICE, the most concerning part about dealing
with uncooperative jurisdictions, or places that are not allowed to work with
us, is that we don’t always know who is being arrested, when they’ll be released,
or if they are at-large in the community again.”
The ICE subpoenas come as Attorney
General William Barr has filed lawsuits against
sanctuary jurisdictions New Jersey and King County, Washington, for obstructing
federal immigration law and enforcement.
At the same time, President Trump is
reportedly sending about 100
“elite tactical agents” to about 10 sanctuary cities to aid ICE agents in
arresting and deporting criminal illegal aliens, Breitbart News reported. The
administration is hoping to increase arrests of criminal illegal aliens by 35
percent.
As Breitbart News has previously
reported, sanctuary counties in California release thousands of illegal aliens
back into American communities every day, according to federal immigration
officials. In Los Angeles, California, for example, up to 100 criminal illegal aliens are released every day from police custody.
