According to a recent survey conducted by the federal government, one in five Americans with a previous COVID infection may be suffering from symptoms of Long COVID, also known as post-acute COVID syndrome (PACS).
The Household Pulse Survey of more than 62,000 adults found that 40 percent had previously been infected with SARS-CoV-2. Of these, 19 percent reported they are currently having persistent and lingering symptoms of “Long COVID.” This means 7.4 percent of the adult population, or nearly 20 million people, are suffering the effects of Long COVID now!

(AP Photo/Ashley Landis) The 20-minute online survey, conducted every four weeks, was established in partnership between the Census Bureau and the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) in late April 2020 to assist the federal government in obtaining relevant information on the impact of the pandemic in the US.
Beginning on June 1, 2022, the NCHS added a question to the survey about symptoms associated with COVID that have lasted for three months or longer. Overall, NCHS found that one in 13 adult Americans has Long COVID symptoms that he or she didn’t have before the initial infection.
A separate CDC study last month confirmed the main finding of the NCHS survey, that 20 percent of COVID survivors develop Long COVID, lending the NCHS survey enormous credibility.
The CDC study was based on a comprehensive review of electronic health records that assessed the incidence of 26 conditions often attributable to post-COVID and compared the records of those infected with COVID and those who had not been infected. It found that one in five COVID-19 survivors aged 18 to 64 (20 percent) and one in four aged 65 and older (25 percent) had experienced at least one incident condition that might have been attributable to previous COVID-19 infection.
The NCHS survey found that younger adults are more likely to have Long COVID than the elderly, which contradicts the CDC finding. Such differences arise from the different methods used: a simple question posed on an online survey for the NCHS, a detailed review of medical records by the CDC.
However, what is astounding is the corroboration by the CDC study and NCHS survey of the scale of the chronic mass debilitating event underway as the COVID pandemic is allowed to rage unopposed by any public health interventions.
The assault on the health and well-being of the population continues unabated. Even after a million Americans have died from acute COVID infections, the long game of Post-Acute COVID Syndrome is beginning to play out mercilessly.
It bears translating these percentages into actual numbers.
On April 26, 2022, the CDC published a report on the seroprevalence of infection-induced antibodies and found that by February 2022, the proportion of the overall US population that had previously been infected had reached almost 58 percent, or nearly 192 million people, of whom 132 million are 20 years old or more. This would mean over 25 million Americans (7.4 percent) possibly carry the diagnosis of Long COVID.
As the Solve Long COVID Initiative noted: “Long COVID is a complex, multi-system illness that increases medical needs… [it is] a collection of lingering symptoms devastating the lives of many COVID-19 survivors. The most frequent prolonged symptoms—persistent fatigue, brain fog, and depleted energy after minimal effort—profoundly impact everyday functioning.”
Three main theories explain Long COVID: dysregulation of the immune system, viral persistence, or micro-clots due to the injury to small blood vessels after infection. Some have argued that these three processes can be interrelated. However, additional and urgent research is necessary to begin identifying the complex nature of the disease process, and to develop treatments to help the afflicted millions worldwide.
The main limitation of the Household Pulse Survey is that it does not raise any questions about the population's health after COVID. The CDC Long COVID study, which followed the health status of those with Long COVID for one year after their acute infection, found that both the elderly and young had a significant deterioration of the lungs, with the risk of pulmonary embolism (a blood clot to the lungs) doubling when compared to non-infected individuals.
Terrifyingly, even among the younger adults, the risk of abnormal heart rhythms and muscle and joint pains was significantly higher. At higher rates, the elderly suffer from worsening kidney failure, blood clot disorders, strokes, diabetes, anxiety and other neurological and mental health dysfunction. These medical disorders also lead to higher death rates, meaning if COVID didn’t kill the patient, Long COVID might.
More than a debilitating mass event, Long COVID has the potential for culling the oldest and feeblest in society—an outcome expressly desired by the financial aristocracy, which regards Social Security, Medicare and end-of-life medical care as a drain on its potential profits.
However, because the PCR tests of Long COVID sufferers will be “negative” for SARS-CoV-2 at the time of death, their families will not know that COVID was responsible. Only epidemiological reports on these conditions will offer a window into the truth behind their deaths.
Evidence is mounting that vaccines, though protective against severe disease, hospitalization and immediate death, do little to reduce the risk of Long COVID and its complications. Additionally, reinfection with SARS-CoV-2 appears to bring additional risks of “all-cause mortality” even after symptoms subside and the person is declared recovered.
And, in perhaps the most sinister conclusion, the current subvariants of Omicron, specifically the BA.4 and BA.5 versions, seem to have considerable ability to escape antibody responses among people who have been previously infected with COVID or who have been vaccinated and boosted. The two strains are quickly becoming dominant across the US.
Dr. Dan Barouch, the lead author of a recent study on immune escape by the latest Omicron subvariants, published in the New England Journal of Medicine , wrote to CNN in an email, “Our data suggest that COVID-19 still has the capacity to mutate further, resulting in increased transmissibility and increased antibody escape. As pandemic restrictions are lifted, it is important that we remain vigilant and keep studying new variants and subvariants as they emerge.”
The statement demonstrates that the failed pandemic policy that insists that humanity must “live with the virus” is truly criminal. High levels of antibodies in the population, whether from prior infection or vaccination, will do little to impede the ongoing transmission of the endless waves of COVID.
One in five reported Long COVID symptoms today will in a few short years mean that most, if not all, of the population, will report these symptoms and face the consequences of multiple reinfections. The day-to-day consequences can mean fighting to collect disability and facing impoverishment, or dealing with dangerous working conditions while struggling with Long COVID symptoms.
Based on its seroprevalence models, the Solve Long-COVID Initiative has placed the number of adults suffering from Long COVID at between 22 and upwards of 43 million, or 7 to 13.4 percent of the population.
The Solve Long-COVID Initiative writes, “of these cases, seven to 14 million (2 to 4 percent of the total US population) are expected to result in long-term disability—placing individuals at risk of lifelong complex health problems and economic ruin from health care costs, unemployment, denied benefits, eviction, and homelessness.” Their estimate of the financial burden on American adults ranges from $386 to $511 billion just through January 31, 2022.
In conjunction with the rise in the number of people reporting Long COVID symptoms, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly employment surveys have been demonstrating an upward trend in the number of people reporting disability since the middle of 2021.
Nicole Maestas, an associate professor of health care policy at Harvard, who has been watching for signs of the impact of the pandemic on disability, speaking with The Atlantic, observed that these population surveys might be the first indication of a rise. “As you watch them keep going up each quarter, it’s starting to look like maybe there is something going on,” she said.
The implications for the working class are ominous. There is a preponderance of evidence for the dangers of SARS-CoV-2 and its long-term sequelae, though many workers persevere with mild symptoms out of sheer necessity to put food on the table and care for their families.
Surveys and studies continue to unearth similar horrific findings and yet nothing is being done to address the pandemic and the casualties it has amassed. No capitalist government will take action. Only the intervention of the working class, fighting for a program of elimination and eradication of COVID-19 regardless of the cost to the capitalist class, offers a way forward.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court gave Republican legislative leaders in North Carolina a win Thursday in a fight over the state's latest photo identification voting law.
The 8-1 decision does not end the three-year-plus dispute over the voter ID law, which is not in effect and has been challenged in state and federal courts. The Supreme Court's ruling just means that the legislative leaders can intervene in the federal case to defend the law. A lower court had ruled the lawmakers' interests were being adequately represented by the state's attorney general, Democrat Josh Stein.
Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote: “Through the General Assembly, the people of North Carolina have authorized the leaders of their legislature to defend duly enacted state statutes against constitutional challenge. Ordinarily, a federal court must respect that kind of sovereign choice, not assemble presumptions against it.”
Justice Sonia Sotomayor dissented.
North Carolina voters amended the state constitution in 2018 to include a voter ID mandate. Lawmakers then passed the law at issue in the case to put in place the change. The law requires voters to show a photo ID to vote — a driver's license, a passport or certain student and local government identifications.
Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper vetoed the measure , but lawmakers overrode it. The state NAACP and several local chapters immediately sued in federal court to halt enforcement, arguing that the law discriminates against Black and Latino voters in violation of the U.S. Constitution and the federal Voting Rights Act.
North Carolina's ouse speaker, Tim Moore, and Senate leader, Phil Berger — both Republicans — wanted to intervene in the federal case to defend the law alongside lawyers for the state, saying Stein would not adequately fight for the law. A federal judge said no, that lawmakers' interests were being adequately defended by lawyers in Stein's agency. A three-judge federal appeals court panel ruled for the lawmakers before the full federal appeals court reversed the decision , ruling 9-6 that lawmakers should not be allowed to intervene.
Berger praised the Supreme Court ruling, saying that previous opposition by Stein and Cooper to voter ID had resulted in “intentionally sandbagging” the law’s defense.
“North Carolinians overwhelmingly support voter ID, and they deserve nothing less than the strongest representation from those who would uphold the will of the voters and our constitution, not a tepid defense by an attorney general who has a record of opposing voter ID,” Moore said in a news release.
A spokesperson for the attorney general's office, Nazneen Ahmed, wrote in an email that Stein “has and will continue to vigorously defend state law” and did not formally oppose the legislators’ efforts to join in the defense. In a legal brief to the justices, Stein and other state lawyers wrote that respect needed to be given to the executive branch’s powers to defend the state in court.
As for the law itself, it was initially blocked by the judge in the case, who said it was “impermissibly motivated, at least in part, by discriminatory intent.” But the three-judge appeals panel reversed her decision and sent it back to U.S. District Court, where a trial has yet to start .
In litigation in state court, judges struck down the law as tainted by racial bias. North Carolina's Supreme Court has said it will take up the case, but no date has been set for oral arguments.
Separately, North Carolina's highest court has also already heard arguments in a lawsuit over whether the constitutional amendment mandating voter ID should have been allowed on the November 2018 ballot in the first place. A state judge had ruled that the GOP-controlled legislature lacked authority to put the amendment and one other on the ballot because lawmakers had been elected from racially biased districts two years earlier. That decision was later overturned on appeal before going to the state's highest court, where a ruling is pending.

Imagine if Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or Rashida Tlaib got to single-handedly veto sovereignty legislation dating back to the 1880s just like a president could veto a new bill passed by Congress this session. Imagine if they could unilaterally abolish ICE and declare open borders, except, unlike a president, they wouldn’t have to stand for re-election. Well, that is exactly the situation this week with a single federal judge. Thanks to Republicans agreeing to the notion that judges – even lower court judges – have direct veto power over legislation, a foundational immigration law has just been “vetoed.”
KCUR-FM reports that on Wednesday, Judge Carlos Murguia of the U.S. District Court of Kansas ruled, based on a Ninth Circuit opinion, that 8 U.S.C. §1324, the law prohibiting someone from “encouraging” or “inducing” illegal immigration, is an unconstitutional infringement upon the First Amendment. In doing so, Murguia vacated the convictions of two illegal aliens, Jose Felipe Hernandez-Calvillo and Mauro Papalotzi, who were convicted in August 2018 by a jury for conspiring to encourage illegal aliens to remain here through employment at a drywall company in Lawrence, Kansas. Four others were originally indicted by a grand jury in 2015 .
This law has been on the books in some form for over 130 years, and numerous federal courts have upheld convictions based on §1324. Yet one judge, who worked for an open-borders group named El Centro Inc . and whose sister Janet Murguia is president of La Raza (now called UnidosUS ), suddenly thinks conspiring to harbor and encourage illegal immigration violates the First Amendment. Carlos’ sister Mary (who is an identical twin to Janet ) is a federal judge on the very Ninth Circuit Court from which he drew this opinion. Judge Mary Murguia once recused herself from a trial involving pro-enforcement Sheriff Joe Arpaio because of her sister’s leadership of La Raza. Carlos should have done the same thing this week in this case, which involves a law that directly conflicts with the work with the open-borders groups his family is associated with.
Rather than rule based on the law, he decided to adopt the ruling of the Ninth Circuit (which doesn’t have jurisdiction in Kansas), which ruled last December that §1324 is “unconstitutionally overbroad” because it “criminalizes a substantial amount of protected expression.” “The court adopts (the 9th Circuit’s) analysis in full and agrees that (the law) on its face is overbroad under the First Amendment,” said Murguia in a brief bench ruling first reported by KCUR-FM .
This assertion is ridiculous, because the law clearly refers to engaging in subversive and fraudulent activities to encourage or enable actual individual aliens to remain in the country, not mere political advocacy for liberal immigration policies in the abstract. It’s like saying that someone who hates high taxes or gun control laws and advocates against them is the same as a person who actively assists tax cheats and gun felons in achieving the end goal of the criminalized behavior.
The 1952 INA (8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)) calls for felony prosecution for anyone who “encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law.” Subsection (V)(I) prohibits “any conspiracy to commit any of the preceding acts.” The two defendants in this case were convicted on both counts. This law passed the Senate unanimously!
The forerunners to this law were the Contract Labor Law of 1885 and the 1891 Immigration Act. The 1885 law made it unlawful to “in any way assist or encourage the importation or migration of any alien” for the purpose of contract labor. Section 3 of the 1891 Immigration Act made it a felony to “assist or encourage the importation or migration of any alien by promise of employment” through advertisements.
Other circuits have long recognized this law as completely legitimate. “Harboring, within the meaning of §1324, encompasses conduct tending substantially to facilitate an alien’s remaining in the United States illegally and to prevent government authorities from detecting his unlawful presence,” wrote the Second Circuit in 1999. “Such facilitation may be attempted through a wide range of conduct.” ( United States v. Kim, 193 F.3d 567, 574 (2d Cir. 1999) .) The Fifth Circuit has ruled that Congress intended for §1324 to “broadly proscribe any knowing or willful conduct fairly within any of these terms that tends to substantially facilitate an alien’s remaining in the U.S. illegally.”
So how could a single judge who has a family history of open-borders activism be allowed to veto such long-standing and universal laws? The answer is that he has no such power other than what the other branches are willing to cede him.
The concern here is that this will not only protect employers who knowingly help illegal aliens get around our immigration laws, but it will also essentially legalize sanctuary cities. Throughout the county, sanctuary cities are taking active steps to thwart immigration law . We would never tolerate this for other federal laws concerning American criminals. Why should illegal aliens have special privileges?
Rather than shirking from §1324 prosecutions, Trump’s DOJ should aggressively go after sanctuary cities, especially in areas where there are saner federal judges. A judge has no power to “strike down” or veto statutes he or she believes are overly broad. If there is a case that concerns pure speech or advocacy without any conspiracy or action taken to encourage illegal immigration, then it is within the prerogative of a judge not to convict the person. That is judicial power. But judges have no ability to say that the statute can’t be applied even when an action is involved because, in their view, the text of the law might rope in speech in other cases. To believe otherwise is to concoct an entirely new level of judicial veto that our Founders explicitly rejected. This is the difference between judicial review and judicial supremacy .
Finally, it’s important to remember that this is yet another example of judges attempting to fully nullify long-standing immigration law. Some on the Right believe that Congress needs to pass new laws in order to end illegal immigration. It’s simply not true. We don’t have a law problem; we have a judicial supremacy problem . The only question is whether the other branches will give this fake power full effect.

Democrats are vowing to implement a “transformative” plan that seeks to add about a million foreign-born residents on green cards to United States voter rolls by securing them naturalized American citizenship.
Former Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) has launched the group “Our Nation’s Future” with support from Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) with the goal of helping one million green card-holders gain naturalized American citizenship within the next four years.
Such a goal would ensure that about a million foreign-born residents are likely added to U.S. voter rolls in key swing states, both Gutierrez and Durbin seemingly acknowledged. Gutierrez, specifically, called the plan “transformative” for upcoming elections.
“In America, the overwhelming growth population is Hispanic, and even a conservative Republican can count,” Durbin said during a news conference. “And if they can count they know in future elections, their fate may be decided by those same Hispanic Americans.”
Already, President Joe Biden has instituted a plan that has surged naturalization rates ahead of the 2022 and 2024 elections.
From October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021 about 855,000 green card-holders became naturalized American citizens — the highest annual number of legal immigrants getting naturalized in more than a decade. Put another way, more than 2,300 green card-holders were naturalized every day in Fiscal Year 2021.
Compare that to Fiscal Year 2020, when about 625,400 green card-holders were naturalized. In Fiscal Year 2019, about 844,000 green card-holders were naturalized and the year before that, in Fiscal Year 2018, nearly 762,000 were naturalized.
The last time naturalization rates were this high was in Fiscal Year 2008, when more than a million green card-holders became naturalized American citizens.
Research and the establishment media have consistently admitted that the larger a region’s foreign-born population, the more likely that region is to vote for Democrats over Republicans.
In 2019, for example, The Atlantic ‘s Ronald Brownstein found that nearly 90 percent of House congressional districts with a foreign-born population above the national average are won by Democrats. This means every congressional district with a foreign-born population exceeding 15 percent has a 90 percent chance of electing Democrats and only a ten percent chance of electing a Republican.

Already, the U.S. has the most generous immigration system in the world — expected to bring in 15 million new foreign-born voters by 2042. About eight million of those voters will have arrived entirely due to the process known as “chain migration” whereby newly naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the U.S.

A former volunteer deputy registrar from southeast Texas pleaded guilty to 26 felony counts of voter fraud stemming from a 2018 local utility board election.
Monica Mendez of Port Lavaca has been convicted of “three counts of illegal voting, eight counts of election fraud, seven counts of assisting a voter to submit a ballot by mail, and eight counts of unlawful possession of a mail ballot,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office stated in a press release. Her guilty plea was entered on June 9, the Victoria Advocate reported :
“Mendez ran a vote-harvesting operation on behalf of a subsidized housing corporation in order to influence the outcome of a utility board election,” Paxton’s office said. The felonies stemmed from eight mail-in ballots, the Texas Scorecard reported .
District Judge Eli Garza imposed a sentence of five years deferred adjudication probation, Paxton’s office said. In addition to probation, she was ordered to pay fines totaling $1,415 and has to complete 80 hours of community service, according to the Advocate . It is unclear if Mendez received a plea deal.

Victoria County Elections Administrator Margetta Hill said in June 2021 Mendez worked as a volunteer deputy registrar during the 2018 water board election in Bloomington.
The Texas Scorecard reported that Mendez’s voter fraud felonies were conducted to benefit ALMS, asserting that the nonprofit “wanted to oust incumbents and take control of the board in order to cut water rates for its rental properties.”
Mendez’s conviction follows a number of election fraud scandals that have made headlines as of late. This month, Breitbart News reported that a former Democrat mayor from Arizona pleaded guilty to ballot harvesting. Last month, the results from a Compton, California, city council election were reversed after the victorious candidate was hit with bribery and voter fraud charges in an extremely close race.
The case is the State of Texas v. Monica Mendez , No. 21-06-32996-A, in the 377th District Court in Victoria County, Texas.

One of the standard arguments invoked by those in favor of massive immigration into the United States is that our country is founded on immigrants who have always been successfully assimilated into America's mainstream culture and society. As one commentator put it, "Assimilation evokes the misty past of Ellis Island, through which millions entered, eventually seeing their descendants become as American as George Washington."1 Nothing more vividly testifies against that romantic faith in America's ability to continuously assimilate new members than the events of October 16, 1994 in Los Angeles. On that day, 70,000 people marched beneath "a sea of Mexican flags" protesting Proposition 187, a referendum measure that would deny many state benefits to illegal immigrants and their children. Two weeks later, more protestors marched down the street, this time carrying an American flag upside down. Both protests point to a disturbing and rising phenomenon of Chicano separatism in the United States — the product of a complex of forces, among which are multiculturalism and a generous immigration policy combined with a lax border control. The Problem Chicanos refer to "people of Mexican descent in the United States" or "Mexican Americans in general." Today, there are reasons to believe that Chicanos as a group are unlike previous immigrants in that they are more likely to remain unassimilated and unintegrated, whether by choice or circumstance — resulting in the formation of a separate quasi-nation within the United States. More than that, there are Chicano political activists who intend to marry cultural separateness with territorial and political self-determination. The more moderate among them aspire to the cultural and political autonomy of "home rule". The radicals seek nothing less than secession from the United States whether to form their own sovereign state or to reunify with Mexico. Those who desire reunification with Mexico are irredentists who seek to reclaim Mexico's "lost" territories in the American Southwest.
Whatever their goals, what animates all of them is the dream of Aztlan. According to legend, Aztlan was the ancestral homeland of the Aztecs which they left in journeying southward to found Tenochtitlan, the center of their new civilization, which is today's Mexico City. Today, the "Nation of Aztlan" refers to the American southwestern states of California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, portions of Nevada, Utah, Colorado, which Chicano nationalists claim were stolen by the United States and must be reconquered (Reconquista) and reclaimed for Mexico. The myth of Aztlan was revived by Chicano political activists in the 1960s as a central symbol of Chicano nationalist ideology. In 1969, at the Chicano National Liberation Youth Conference in Denver, Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales put forth a political document entitled El Plan de Aztlan (Spiritual Plan of Aztlan). The Plan is a clarion call to Mexican-Americans to form a separate Chicano nation: In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historial heritage, but also of the brutal "gringo" invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the nothern land of Aztlan from whence came our forefathers ...declare that the call of our blood is...our inevitable destiny.... Aztlan belongs to those who plant the seeds, water the fields, and gather the crops, and not to the foreign Europeans. We do not recognize capricious frontiers on the bronze continent.... Brotherhood unites us, and love for our brothers makes us a people whose time has come .... With our heart in our hands and our hands in the soil, we declare the independence of our mestizo nation. We are a bronze people with a bronze culture. Before the world, before all of North America, before all our brothers in the bronze continent, we are a nation, we are a union of free pueblos, we are Aztlan.
How Chicanos are Unlike Previous Immigrants Brent A. Nelson, writing in 1994, observed that in the 1980s America's Southwest had begun to be transformed into "a de facto nation" with its own culture, history, myth, geography, religion, education, and language. Whatever evidence there is indicates that Chicanos, as a group, are unlike previous waves of immigrants into the United States. In the first place, many Chicanos do not consider themselves immigrants at all because their people "have been here for 450 years" before the English, French, or Dutch. Before California and the Southwest were seized by the United States, they were the lands of Spain and Mexico. As late as 1780 the Spanish crown laid claim to territories from Florida to California, and on the far side of the Mississippi up to the Great Lakes and the Rockies. Mexico held title to much of Spanish possessions in the United States until the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the Mexican-American war in 1848. As a consequence, Mexicans "never accepted the borders drawn up by the 1848 treaty."
That history has created among Chicanos a feeling of resentment for being "a conquered people," made part of the United States against their will and by the force of arms. Their resentment is amply expressed by Voz Fronteriza, a Chicano student publication,
which referred to Border Patrol officers killed in the line of duty as "pigs (migra)" trying to defend "the false frontier."
Chicanos are also distinct from other immigrant groups because of the geographic proximity of their native country. Their physical proximity to Mexico gives Chicanos "the option of life in both Americas, in two places and in two cultures, something earlier immigrants never had." Geographic proximity and ease of transportation are augmented by the media. Radio and television keep the spoken language alive and current so that Spanish, unlike the native languages of previous immigrants into the United States, "shows no sign of fading."
A result of all that is the failure by Chicanos to be fully assimilated into the larger American society and culture. As Earl Shorris, author of Latinos: A Biography of the People, observed: "Latinos have been more resistant to the melting pot than any other group. Their entry en masse into the United States will test the limits of the American experiment...." The continuous influx of Mexican immigrants into the United States serve to continuously renew Chicano culture so that their sense of separateness will probably continue "far into the future...." There are other reasons for the failure of Chicano assimilation. Historically, a powerful force for assimilation was upward social mobility: Immigrants into the United States became assimilated as they rose in educational achievement and income. But today's post-industrial American economy, with its narrower paths to upward mobility, is making it more difficult for certain groups to improve their socioeconomic circumstances. Unionized factory jobs, which once provided a step up for the second generation of past waves of immigrants, have been disappearing for decades. Instead of the diamond-shaped economy of industrial America, the modern American economy is shaped like an hourglass. There is a good number of jobs for unskilled people at the bottom, a fair number of jobs for the highly educated at the top, but comparatively few jobs for those in the middle without a college education or special skills. To illustrate, a RAND Corporation study forecasts that 85 percent of California's new jobs will require post-secondary education. For a variety of reasons, the nationwide high-school dropout rate for Hispanics (the majority of whom are Chicano) is 30 percent — three times the rate for whites and twice the rate for blacks. Paradoxically, the dropout rate for Hispanics born in the United States is even higher than for young immigrants. Among Chicanos, high-school dropout rates actually rise between the second and third generations. Their low educational achievement accounts for why Chicanos as a group are poor despite being hardworking. In 1996, for the first time, Hispanic poverty rate began to exceed that of American blacks. In 1995, household income rose for every ethnic group except Hispanics, for whom it dropped 5 percent. Latinos now make up a quarter of the nation's poor people, and are more than three times as likely to be impoverished than whites. This decline in income has taken place despite high rates of labor-force participation by Latino men, and despite an emerging Latino middle class. In California, where Latinos now approach one-third of the population, their education levels are far lower than those of other immigrants, and they earn about half of what native-born Californians earn. This means that, for the first time in the history of American immigration, hard work is not leading to economic advancement because immigrants in service jobs face unrelenting labor-market pressure from more recently arrived immigrants who are eager to work for less.
For Rodolfo Acuna, author of Occupied America: The Chicano's Struggle Toward Liberation, probably the most widely assigned text in U.S. Chicano Studies programs, the Anglo-American invasion of Mexico was "as vicious as that of Hitler's invasion of Poland and other Central European nations...." The book also includes a map showing "the Mexican republic" in 1822 reaching up into Kansas and Oklahoma, and including within it Utah, Nevada, and everything west and south of there

'Diversity,’ Illegal Immigration and

Now that official Washington’s political oxygen is being consumed by the latest school shooting, it’s easy to forget abiding disagreements about immigration policy. Yet, until supplanted by the current children’s crusade for gun control, it was the so-called “DACA kids” who had to be accommodated with a massive amnesty. Just as we seem determined to ignore factors in mass murders like the pop culture’s role in inculcating a lust for violence – the more, the better, what passes for debate about illegal aliens is increasingly unmoored from any discussion of their impact on American society. It’s time to reprise a 2003 warning by Democratic former Colorado governor Dick Lamm about a “secret plan” that is destroying our country through the combined effects of unchecked immigration, the “diversity” agenda and abandoning our national principle of “out of many, one.” This lunacy must end.

Biden’s Shameful Plan to Import More Illegal Aliens into America And more brazen about it than ever.

As a growing number of Americans are voicing their opposition to the Biden’s Administration’s radical immigration agenda, the White House is implementing a new plan that will only worsen the crisis it has created.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) plans to use federal funds to resettle illegal aliens in cities including Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, and Albuquerque, according to a recent report. Reports indicate that DHS is facetiously referring to the proposal as the “Abbott plan,” named after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has been sending busloads of illegal aliens to Washington, D.C. in protest of Biden’s border crisis.
However, there is no comparison between what Abbott did to try and bring attention to a crisis ravaging his state, and the actions of the Biden Administration, which have continued to foment this crisis. Reasonable people can agree or disagree about Abbott’s tactics, but it is dishonest for DHS officials to conflate their attempts to resettle large numbers of illegal aliens into the country with Abbott’s efforts to force Washington to confront the border crisis it created.
DHS is justifying this plan by citing the reality that detention facilities at the border are overcrowded and running out of room. This is accurate, but it is only accurate because of the border crisis this administration has facilitated. What is more, the Biden Administration has shut down detention facilities and asked Congress for less money to fund detention beds, dropping the already low level of 34,000 beds down to 20,000.
The White House has made no meaningful attempts to secure the border, and nearly every immigration-related policy they’ve enacted has been aimed at undoing successful border security efforts by the previous administration. The latest example of this is the administration’s recent move to end the use of Title 42 at the border, which has allowed Border Patrol for two years to turn away illegal aliens who attempt to cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.
The use of Title 42 at the border was scheduled to end late last month before a federal judge issued a ruling ordering it to continue. The judge’s ruling serves as a brief respite for the nation, but it remains likely that the use of Title 42 at the border will eventually come to an end, and when it does, the country will lose whatever control it has left over its border.
Once that happens, as many as 18,000 illegal aliens a day will cross the border, according to some estimates. The overwhelming flow of migrants coming into the country will allow the Biden Administration to claim that they’ve run out of room in detention facilities, and justify resettling large numbers of illegal aliens into the U.S. This is the administration’s strategy, but it is not a new strategy. For months, the Biden Administration has been quietly resettling illegal aliens into the U.S. while hiding it from the American people.
Late last year, then-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted that illegal aliens were being flown from the border to New York in secretive, night-time flights. Officials in other states, including Pennsylvania and Florida, have also reported illegal aliens being resettled in their states through similar flights. This led Florida
‘Perfect If You Want Sex Trafficking’: California Takes Possible First Step Toward Legalizing Prostitution Bill will prevent police from arresting suspected prostitutes

The bill will eliminate the charge of "loitering with the intent to engage in prostitution," the Associated Press reported Monday. Supporters say loitering-for-prostitution arrests disproportionately affect black, Hispanic, and transgender people. While both chambers of the legislature passed the bill last year, the bill's sponsor, Democratic state senator Scott Wiener, said he waited until Pride Month to send the measure to Newsom's desk.
California's move to stop cops from combatting prostitution comes as leaders across the state struggle to address rising crime rates. Homicides in Los Angeles are on track to top last year's all-time high, the Los Angeles Times reported last month. Angelenos' fears about rising crime have helped the mayoral campaign of Rick Caruso, a tough-on-crime former Republican. Voters in deep-blue San Francisco, meanwhile, ousted soft-on-crime District Attorney Chesa Boudin, who supports the pro-prostitution bill.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department opposes the bill, which it says would hinder the ability of police to fight human trafficking and assist victims of abuse.
The bill will "benefit sex buyers," the sheriff's department said.
Other opponents of the bill include the National Center on Sexual Exploitation and the California Family Council.
The bill is "perfect if you want sex trafficking to even increase in California," said California Family Council spokesman Greg Burt, who fears it's part of an effort to legalize prostitution in the Golden State.
Wiener has a history of introducing bills to liberalize laws on sex crimes. He has led efforts to lessen legal penalties for individuals who knowingly give HIV to sexual partners and for gay pedophiles .
Some of Wiener's Democratic colleagues do not want to be affiliated with his bills. "More than two dozen of his fellow Democrats in the Assembly and Senate either voted no or declined to vote" on the prostitution bill, the AP reported.
Wiener did not respond to a request for comment.
The 8 Most Insane Proposals in California’s 492-Page Reparations Report 'Reparations Task Force' recommends free health care, child support forgiveness for black residents

Following a 2020 law to study the subject, a panel of left-wing academics and policymakers on Wednesday released their findings on how California can remedy the harm against the state's black residents caused by slavery and discrimination. All black Californians are eligible for the benefits of the program if they can prove they are "descendants of African Americans enslaved in the U.S. or of free Black people living in the country before the end of the 19th century." A new state agency, called the California African American Freedmen Affairs Agency, would provide genealogical tests for residents.
The 492-page report lists the task force's "preliminary findings and recommendations." The final report is scheduled to be released in July of next year.
Here are eight of the most radical proposals:
1. Child support forgiveness The panel recommends that California eliminate overdue child support owed to the government by black parents who no longer have custody of their children. Black Californians would also no longer need to "reimburse the state for current or past government assistance" related to child support.
The panel also recommends the elimination of all interest payments on past child support owed by black Californians.
Under current California law, families that receive government assistance such as food stamps must deduct the cost of those programs from court-ordered child support payments. If an individual in California does not pay child support, he is essentially fined for forcing his child to use state services. The logic of the current law is that the state should not pay for financial support that a parent otherwise provides.
2. Establish a ‘Truth and Reconciliation Commission,' destroy ‘anti-black memorials and monuments' The task force recommends the establishment of a commission named after the 1996 South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which was created following the end of apartheid to identify human rights violations against the majority black population during their time living under white-only rule. The task force also recommends the state "create forms of acknowledgement and apology for acts of political disenfranchisement" and destroy all "anti-Black memorials and monuments," presumably identified by the task force.
Pervasive "police violence against and extrajudicial killings of African Americans occur in California as they do in the rest of the country," the panel concludes. As part of an effort to help heal the state's black community, the panel recommends the state fund art that acknowledges the "trauma of state-sanctioned white supremacist terror."
3. Free college education The task force recommends the state eliminate tuition for all California colleges, as well as offer funding to create black-owned K-12 schools and colleges. Black Californians should also receive scholarships to "cover four years of undergraduate education" at presumably any university in the country, the task force finds.
The task force also recommends that the state "identify and eliminate racial bias and discriminatory practices" in standardized tests, including the SAT, LSAT, and the state Bar exam, with no elaboration on how this would be done. To further "antiracist" education in the state, all California schools must adopt a curriculum that "advances the ideology of Black liberation."
4. Trees in black neighborhoods for ‘shade equity' In the name of ending so-called environmental racism, the task force recommends the state fund the "planting of trees to create tree shade equity."
5. Less McDonalds, more Whole Foods The task force wants to "reduce the density" of fast-food restaurants, and promote the opening of "healthy retailers," such as Whole Foods and farmer's markets, in majority-black neighborhoods.
6. Decrease the police The task force calls for an end to "discriminatory policing and particularly killings, use of force, and racial profiling" of black Americans. That means a review of every incarcerated black Californian "to determine whether they have been wrongfully convicted or have received longer or harsher sentences than white people convicted of the same or similar crimes."
The task force recommends fewer police in black communities. The "scope of law enforcement jurisdiction" must be curtailed and replaced with "more funding for prevention and mental health care." Law enforcement should also issue fewer citations at liquor and tobacco stores in black neighborhoods.
7. Free health care Black Californians should be entitled to free health care, the task force finds. All black Californians who suffered from the country's "anti-Black health care system" should be entitled to financial compensation as well.
To create more black doctors and health care professionals, the task force recommends that the state engage in more affirmative action programs and a "race-conscious public health policy."
8. Cash payments to close ‘racial wealth gap' On top of all the new forms of welfare and assistance outlined in the task force report, black Californians are entitled to cash reparations intended to shrink "the racial wealth gap." The exact dollar amount is not specified.
The state must also provide funding and "technical assistance" to "Black-led and Black community-based land trusts to support wealth building and affordable housing," as well as raise the minimum wage beyond the state-mandated $15 per hour. The task force also recommends the creation of a state fund "to support the development and sustainment of Black-owned businesses."

The 2023-2024 budget describes the work of Berkeley's Homeless Response Team, which it says "performed at least weekly garbage collection and debris removal from encampments across the City, removing over 151,000 pounds of trash between September 2021 and March 2022."
The scale of Berkeley's encampment cleanup efforts is indicative of the homelessness crisis facing many California cities, which worsened amid state and local government-imposed lockdowns during the pandemic. Sixty-four percent of Californians say homelessness is a "big problem" in their part of the state, and 63 percent say the number of homeless people in their community has grown.
With an estimated 535 homeless people living in tents or on the street in Berkeley, the city's cleanup efforts amount to nearly 500 pounds of garbage removed per homeless person per year. A spokesman for the city confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon that human waste and drug paraphernalia factored into the weight of the trash removed from camps.
Berkeley resident Michael Shellenberger, who this month placed third in California's nonpartisan gubernatorial primary as an independent candidate, faults progressive policies for California's homelessness crisis. He said the tons of waste Berkeley collects from camps serve as proof of the city's rashness in allowing the homeless to shelter outside.
"The data showing that Berkeley's homeless population is producing 500 pounds of garbage per person is yet more evidence that it is unsafe and unsanitary to allow homeless people to sleep outside," Shellenberger told the Free Beacon . "The evidence comes just a few weeks after the release of data showing that homeless people in Los Angeles are three times more likely to die than homeless people in New York because most of the homeless in L.A. are unsheltered. How many more must die before California governor Gavin Newsom and the Democratic mayors of California's cities act?"
Berkeley's Homeless Response Team launched in September after a year and a half in which the city did not clean up encampments because of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, a period in which the "encampment situation … got much worse," according to the city spokesman. The city established the team with the objective of reducing "the impact of encampments on the city … while avoiding citation and arrest."
The Homeless Response Team "performed 16 closures of large and dangerous encampments," according to the budget, "resolving conditions that included raw sewage and human waste, loose and scattered syringes and drug paraphernalia, rodents and other vector hazards, rotting food, and obstruction of sidewalks and vehicular lanes of traffic."
The city boasted in the report that it issued zero criminal citations and made "only one arrest" in the process of clearing dangerous encampments of hazardous waste.
Richie Greenberg, one of the leaders of this month's successful campaign to recall far-left San Francisco district attorney Chesa Boudin, criticized Berkeley for tolerating open-air encampments, saying the money spent on clearing garbage and human waste should go toward "a permanent solution for the homeless problem."
As part of its efforts to clean up the streets, Berkeley offered shelter to "well over" 200 homeless people, the budget said. Sixty-one percent of those offered housing by the city refused. When asked by the Free Beacon about the low acceptance rate, Berkeley's spokesman said the city is "striving … to eliminate barriers to utilizing our shelters, to make them welcoming and comfortable, and to ensure that they create meaningful pathways to housing."
Berkeley is famous for its far-left policies—it was the first in the country to establish "sanctuary city" laws. Since the pandemic, however, the liberal city has bowed to increasing pressure from residents to take more aggressive action against homelessness. The city has moved to evict homeless RV-dwellers and began clearing out some larger encampments. The spokesman for Berkeley pointed to the city's roughly 5 percent decline in homelessness since 2019, telling the Free Beacon that Berkeley's efforts to fight homelessness are "paying off, even though we have so much more to do."
Shellenberger was less confident that Democrats are committed to removing dangerous homeless camps from California's cities.
"How much more garbage must accumulate before we require people to sleep indoors?" Shellenberger said. "Newsom and Democratic mayors appear intent to use the homeless population to destroy California's once-beautiful cities because they are in the grip of an anti-civilization ideology."

High housing costs, rising crime, and rampant public vagrancy likely fueled the exodus, as residents have soured on the Golden City's liberal leadership.
Voters in a June recall election ousted radical prosecutor Chesa Boudin for his soft-on-crime approach. Two-thirds of Asian Americans opposed Boudin, spurred on by his failure to quell attacks against seniors in their communities.
Driven by worries over public safety, a majority of Bay Area voters disapprove of Democratic mayor London Breed, according to a June San Francisco Examiner poll . Breed slashed the city's police budget by $120 million in 2020 in the wake of George Floyd’s death but reversed course 18 months later, making an emergency request to beef up law enforcement funding as crime soared.
The homicide rate in San Francisco has shot up 37 percent in the past two years. A retail theft wave garnered national attention last year, following California’s move to lessen penalties for shoplifting. Seventy percent of San Franciscans think their quality of life has declined, and 88 percent believe homelessness has worsened in recent years.
Rising housing costs are another major factor being cited for the decline. Some blame the zoning policies of the liberal city for inflating the cost of living, exacerbating homelessness .
Other liberal-run, large cities grappling with crime and homelessness have seen substantial declines in population as well. The 15 fastest-growing U.S. cities sit in states run by Republican governors. And some San Francisco-based companies are fleeing California for red states.

San Francisco Pushes Forward on Single Home Ban, Denser Neighborhoods — ‘Pretty Big Step’ Paul Chinn/San Francisco Chronicle via Getty San Francisco Board of Supervisors narrowly passed legislation Tuesday to eliminate single family home zoning, which will allow fourplexes on every neighborhood lot and six units on corner properties.
But even the advocates for denser neighborhoods in the name of affordable housing and social justice are worried that the move wouldn’t do enough to bring the safe, suburban single family neighborhoods to an end.
Richard Hillis, the city’s planning director called ending single-family-home zoning “a pretty big step.”
“They recognize, given our affordability crisis, building multi-family units instead of single-family homes is a good policy idea,” Hillis said in a San Francisco Chronicle article.
Hillis said he is “nervous” the changes are “not going far enough, or they’re putting requirements in place that will result in too few units being produced.”
The Chronicle reported on the ordinance crafted by Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, reworked, and now legislation that could become law:
With the ordinance, Mandelman and co-sponsor Supervisor Myrna Melgar are trying to encourage more density while preserving local control over new development. Mandelman has acknowledged that his legislation leaves more work to be done to address the housing crisis.
Currently, about 40 percent of San Francisco’s land area is zoned only for single-family homes. The ordinance rezones all those areas to allow duplexes by default. Property owners can then receive a density exception from the city that allows them to build up to four units, or six on corner lots.
Hillis said that streamlining approval for fourplexes and sixplexes once the city is rezoned would likely require a ballot measure to amend the City Charter. San Franciscans are already voting on at least one amendment — and possibly two — in November aimed at accelerating housing production for some projects.
Despite the growing movement for neighborhood density, research shows Americans still want the same single family home in a safe neighborhood as earlier generations, according to the real estate website Redfin.
“While some data suggests that housing density is starting to prevail in certain cities, the vast majority of Americans still want a single-family home with a yard, even if it means sacrificing proximity to work,” the report said.

Harris’s comments may be a coded message to would-be illegal migrants and their supportive legal-immigrant relatives.
For example, if implemented, Harris’s promise to start “shutting down private detention centers” could cripple border enforcement. If the enforcement agency does not have commercial prisons to hold detainees prior to their asylum hearings, the agency would be forced to release waves of job-seeking migrants into the U.S. labor market.
Similarly, Harris’s promise to end “policies … about separating children” echoes the media-magnified demand by pro-migration activists that officials release migrant mothers and children when they cross the border. That demand would let migrant families freely travel to relatives — including their illegal migrant husbands and fathers — who are working illegally in the United States.

Like Biden , Harris pushed the Cold War “Nation of Immigrants” claim, even though only about 10 percent of people in the United States are legal immigrants:

Harris also tried to blur the legal and civic differences between illegal migrants, legal immigrants, and American citizens. For example, she told Silva:
Define who you are, and you tell the world who you are. Don’t let anybody ever put you in a box because they have a limited perspective on who can do what and who can be one.

We are all in this together. And so, chin up, shoulders back, right? We speak our truth and know that there will always be people applauding and supporting that even if you can’t see them at that one moment, know that there are so many of us who are supporting your leadership and the power of your voice. It’s really important.
Harris also claimed President Donald Trump vilified immigrants: “We’ve seen under the current president the kind of vitriol, the kind of hate, the vilification of immigrants in such a horrible way.”
But a Washington Post poll showed in April that Latinos are the strongest advocates for a near-total halt to legal immigration during the coronavirus epidemic and economic crash.
Biden’s 2020 plan promises to “reassert America’s commitment to asylum-seekers and refugees,” wipe out Trump’s asylum reforms, bar any deportations for 100 days, and end migration enforcement against illegal aliens unless they commit a felony.

Biden also wants to let companies import more visa workers, let mayors import temporary workers, and allow an unlimited flow of foreign graduates through U.S. universities into white-collar jobs. Biden would “exempt from any cap [the] recent graduates of Ph.D. programs in STEM fields.”
Biden also wants to accelerate the inflow of chain migration migrants and dramatically accelerate the inflow of poor refugees to at least 125,000 per year.
“The influx of low wage workers from all across the world will drive down incomes, drive down wages, deplete the middle class, bankrupt Social Security, bankrupt Medicare, bankrupt Medicaid, bankrupt federal entitlements, overcrowd schools, and overcrowd every hospital in the middle of a pandemic,” White House aide Stephen Miller told reporters on October 28.
“It is an assault on reason, it is an assault on law enforcement, and it’s an assault on the very idea of having a country, having a Republic,” Miller added. “This is not about left or right or Center. This is about between having a country, or not even having a country.”

The governor of a Mexican state plagued with cartel violence for years is the nephew of a cartel boss and a cousin to another. Both face drug charges in a U.S court. Breitbart Texas obtained birth certificates confirming the familial relationships between the governor and the crime bosses. The politician has denied such familial connections in the past.
This week, Adalberto Fructoso “Fruto” Comparan Rodriguez, the former mayor of Aguililla, Michoacan, and son Adalberto Fructoso Comparan Bedolla, along with four other cartel members, went before a federal judge in Florida this week. They were notified of the drug charges against them and were ordered to be held without bond. Breitbart Texas obtained Mexican birth certificates showing the relationships between current Michoacan Governor Alfredo Ramirez Bedolla and the accused through marriage. La Silla Rota had published information about Ramirez’s relatives during his gubernatorial race in 2021, but only now do documents publicly confirm the connections.
The wife of Comparan Rodriguez is Anabel Bedolla Marin from Aguililla, Michoacan — a region under the control of Carteles Unidos.
Anabel Bedolla is the sister of Maria de Jesus Bedolla Marin, who is the mother of the politician.
Ramirez Bedolla, born in Morelia, Michoacan, had previously tried to minimize his relationship by claiming his aunt and uncle were separated for more than 10 years and had no contact with them.
Comparan Rodriguez is accused of being one of the leaders of Carteles Unidos in Michoacan and responsible for large-scale shipments of meth into the U.S. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office , Comparan Rodriguez would hide the drugs inside concrete tiles and dilute meth in paint. Authorities in Guatemala arrested Comparan Rodriguez in March 2021 and helped get him extradited to the U.S. in January 2022. Authorities arrested his son, Comparan Bedolla, in March 2021 in Miami while they reportedly tried to remove liquid meth from paint.
Michoacan is one of the most violent states in Mexico due to a violent turf war between Carteles Unidos (a collection of smaller organizations and “self-defense” groups) against Cartel Jalisco New Generation for control of vast drug production areas and smuggling corridors. Mexico’s federal government has been unable to reduce violence in the region.

For four years under President Trump, America enjoyed peace, security, and unparalleled prosperity. Trump's presidency was a historic era of good times in which we began to regain faith in the American Dream. Now we have the nightmare, and the death and destruction that go with it.
Yes, the Trump Era was prosperous, with historically low unemployment rates, low inflation, energy independence, and rising wages. But aside from that, the most important thing about Trump's presidency was the fact that Americans were secure, as they had not been under Obama and certainly are not under Biden. Under Trump, America was in so many senses vibrant and "alive" with pride in our country and hope for its future.
Now we have regular mass shootings in which citizens disarmed by the State have no way to defend themselves. Overseas, we have a war in Ukraine, the threat of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, and Iran developing nuclear weapons with the encouragement of the Biden administration. The common thread is death and the fear that goes with it. And this does not even include Biden's aggressive defense of abortion on demand.
Under President Trump, I lived without fear. I knew that Trump supported my right to defend my home and that he supported the police who defended me as well. Just having the president and his administration on my side made me breathe easier. America was moving in the right direction, as was confirmed by every opinion poll during Trump's time in office before COVID was unleashed.
Long-term death rates are more a matter of demographics than policy, and they have been rising ever since Obama took office in 2008. But murder rates, deaths in war and civil unrest, drug overdose deaths, and accidental deaths are attributable to policy, and they have been rising under Biden, even during his short time in office. Under Biden, the U.S. murder rate, which had been declining under President Trump, is the highest in 25 years. According to former N.Y. police commissioner Howard Safir, the spike in violence is partly attributable to lack of support for police and soft-on-crime prosecutors. And it is Biden, with his anti-police rhetoric and refusal to prosecute (as in the case of those picketing Justice Kavanaugh's home), who is responsible for this climate of anarchy.
Now I plan my trips carefully, avoid eye contact with strangers, and carry only a driver's license and credit card. I drive inconspicuously as well, given the explosion of road rage incidents.
The most galling thing is that Biden never says a word about the victims of crime unless he can twist the incident into an anti-gun lecture, and he takes no action to protect anyone, especially law-abiding citizens in middle-class neighborhoods like my own. In this and so many other ways, he seems on the side of those who wish to destroy us. It's no accident that murder rates are spiraling at home and war is breaking out overseas. Both are a response to Biden's weakness, and death is the consequence.
I fear there will be more death ahead. I expect an invasion in Taiwan, Moldova, or Finland, and new outbreaks of violence in the Middle East involving either Iran or its surrogates. The incomprehensible Iran deal, which Biden is pushing, would "make Biden 'the biggest funder of terrorism in the world,'" according to Rep. Jim Banks. "Terrorism" is not just a derogatory word; it is the act of murdering innocent human beings, including women and children. Hasn't that fact entered into Biden's Iran deal calculations?
Biden's weakness has emboldened our enemies, and their actions pose a threat to our security. This is the way major wars begin. They can be prevented only by the projection of force of the kind we saw under President Trump, and Biden projects about as much force as a lady's fan. His weakness will get us into another war, and our young men and women will die in that war. There is death hanging over us, and Biden seems oblivious, fumbling with his note cards to find some kind of answer.
There is a new national mood in America unlike anything I've seen since the 1960s: a sense of foreboding and caution based on the very real threat of violence and collapse. There are more threats to our country, including the wealth destruction of inflation, to which Biden simply rolls his eyes, chuckles, and whispers some idiotic riposte. There are more criminal gangs, and Biden just welcomes more in. There is more road rage, more random shooting, more felons out on no bond/low bond. And there is a callous and brutal disregard for the lives of the unborn.
In response to the mounting violence, Biden seems remote, fuddling with his microphone like a man slipping into dementia, and those around him seem inept, if not callous, including his new press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, who is said to have "frequently stumbled" during her first weeks. A president who is weak and advisers who are incompetent and anti-American to boot — that is a recipe for disaster, and disaster will end, as it always does, in poverty, destruction, and death.
There are bullies in the world who watched as Biden stumbled out of Afghanistan, and bullies don't have much respect for doddering fools who just want to survive a four-year term and leave a mess for someone else to clean up.
As a citizen, it is difficult to watch my country besieged by violence. Biden's presidency has been deadly in every respect: turning off economic growth and imposing environmental restrictions, proposing inflation-adjusted cuts in national defense while paying off student loans, and putting citizens at risk with his anti-police rhetoric.
There is little chance of a second Biden term, but just another two and a half years is painful to imagine. How many thousands will lose their lives because of one incompetent and wrong-headed leader? How far will America go into danger and destruction? And how much more difficult will it be for our next president, Trump or a Trump lookalike, to repair the damage and Make America Safe Again?
