The fact that Hunter's market value was derived from his father's position seemed to be a source of resentment for the younger Biden, even as he continued to cash in on the name. Hunter complained in texts to his daughter that he had financially supported the Biden clan for three decades and that "pop" takes a cut of "half [my] salary." Financia records and correspondence reported on by Devine indicate that money from Hunter's business accounts was used to cover Joe's AT&T bill and home maintenance expenses and that a portion of at least one major China deal was earmarked for the elder Biden.

Peter Schweizer: China’s Main Strategy to Win Is ‘Elite Capture,’ Buying Off U.S. Elites Like the Bidens
The Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) main strategy to win involves buying off the elites of the United States — a process they call “elite capture” — Breitbart News senior contributor and author of the bestselling bombshell Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win Peter Schewizer told Breitbart News Saturday, identifying the Biden family as one of the primary examples of a successful target.
Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute (GAI), explained the broad theme of his latest blockbuster during his appearance on the show.
“The subtitle of the book is how American elites get rich helping China win, and this reflects a strategy that Beijing has had. They’re pretty open about it, where the strategy is simply to buy off the elites of the United States and other countries,” Schweizer began, explaining that China views itself as in a competition with the United States. However, it believes it can win by buying off elites — not actually competing with the U.S. economy and culture.
“In other words they view themselves as in this competition with the United States. There is a competition between these two countries and they want to win. They’re quite open about that. President Xi has been talking about that since 2012, and they’ve decided the way they can win is not going toe to toe with this dynamic economy and culture. The way they can win is by buying off the elites. They call it elite capture. That’s the term they use,” Schweizer explained, walking through how the CCP views this strategy.
“They’re not looking for, you know, leaders to be clones. There’s a strategic concept they use that loosely translated means ‘big help with a little bad mouth,’ and what that basically means is, you know, if somebody says occasionally things about the Uyghurs or about human rights, they may get irritated about it, but that’s not a big deal. What they want the elites to do is ensure that they get access to Western capital, and they get access to Western technology. And as long as the elected officials and corporate executives don’t interfere on that, they’re very happy to help these elites get rich, because they’re helping them in such an important way,” he said.
In other words, when it is crunch time, the idea is these elites side with China, which wants access to Western markets, money, and research. One of the most successful targets of this CCP strategy is the Biden family, Schweizer explained, gaining some $31 million in deals from individuals with ties to Chinese intelligence.

Schweizer noted that they first broke this theme in his book Secret Empires. They knew the Biden family had commercial ties in China and knew it was corruption and cronyism, but the Hunter Biden laptop and access to other emails, he said, allowed them to piece together how much they got and perhaps more importantly, who made the deals happen.
The question is “who really made it rain for the Bidens in China,” Schweizer said, explaining that Hunter Biden was eager for deals and went over in 2009 and 2010 after his father became vice president. There were a handful of Chinese businessmen that “made it rain” for Hunter, including Che Fang, a mysterious businessman who arranged a $20 million deal for Hunter. At the time Che Fang was also business partners with a vice minister for state security in China, their spy agency. The vice minister’s responsibility was foreign intelligence recruitment, which Schweizer said should have “set off alarm bells right away.” Another businessman that helped with that $20 million deal and wired another $5 million to a separate Hunter Biden business was business partners specifically with the daughter of the former minister of state security, who ran the entire spy apparatus.
“So the elite capture for the Bidens, I think, is crystal clear. It’s demonstrated in Joe Biden’s posture towards China and the facts are the facts,” Schweizer said.
“Just imagine … in the Cold War days, if an American first family was doing deals, got $31 million from Russian businessmen who were linked to the KGB, I mean there would be alarm bells clanging all over Washington, DC,” Schweizer said. “And I think that needs to be going on today, because that’s how serious this issue is.”

Schweizer: Hunter Biden Provided ‘No Discernible Business Services’ for Deals with Ties to Chinese Intelligence
On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Evening Edit,” Breitbart News senior contributor Peter Schweizer, the author of Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win, said we have to investigate whether the Biden family has been compromised by Chinese intelligence operations.
According to Schweizer, there aren’t any clear business services that Hunter Biden performed for his deals with people tied to Chinese intelligence.
Schweizer said, “What worries me most is we first broke the story on these commercial deals with the Biden family in China back in 2018. What we’ve done is taken the new material and tried to figure out who made those deals happen in China. And in every one of the cases, those are businessmen that have ties to the highest levels of Chinese intelligence. What do I mean by that? Well, the private equity deal, where Hunter Biden was put on board of this private equity company financed by the Chinese government. That deal was done by a Chinese businessman named Che Feng. When he was doing that deal with Hunter Biden, he was business partners with the Vice Minister for the Ministry of State Security in China, a guy named Ma Jian. Ma Jian’s responsibility was the recruitment of foreign nationals to spy on behalf of China. Another one of the businessmen that was involved in that deal who also transferred $5 million to another one of Hunter Biden’s businesses is a guy named Mr. Zhao. His business partner at the time was the family of the former minister of state security who ran the entire spy apparatus of China.”
He continued, “So, the question is, why did these businessmen hand this money over to the Biden family? And I don’t think it’s philanthropy. I don’t think it’s business. There [are] no discernible business services that Hunter Biden performed for this money. I think we have to start looking at the notion, investigating the fact that Biden’s may be compromised in what was a Chinese-backed intelligence operation.”

Glenn Beck on ‘Red-Handed’: Joe Biden ‘Is Compromised on Almost Every Front’ with China
Glenn Beck said on Wednesday’s edition of his eponymous radio program that Peter Schweizer’s latest book, Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win, reveals how President Joe Biden “is compromised on almost every front” with respect to his family’s financial ties to China and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Beck interviewed Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute and host of the Drill Down podcast, about some of the book’s revelations. He contrasted false left-wing news media and Democrat narratives of former President Donald Trump’s “compromise” by the Russian government with the Biden family’s dealings with China. Beck said:
We have a president who is compromised on almost every front. [Joe Biden] says that Donald Trump was compromised by Vladimir Putin, except everything that Donald Trump did with Vladimir Putin did not work to Putin’s advantage. Here, the case is dramatically the opposite, but we’re living in a time now where — because of China and because of Biden — the press isn’t going to [cover this information].
Beck indirectly referenced events surrounding Robert Hanssen, a former FBI agent serving several life sentences following convictions on federal charges of espionage and conspiracy on behalf of Russia and the Soviet Union. He remarked:
This is the most stunning, illegal, clearly un-American activity I have ever seen produced outside of the guy who was actually a [Soviet] spy for the FBI. … It’s that kind of level, and no one’s going to talk about it. Nothing’s going to happen.
Red-Handed explains why U.S. elites often say and do things beneficial to the CCP, Beck said.
“Why does it feel like no one will take China on?” he asked. “Why is it that all of these elites are torpedoing us in favor of China?…Peter [Schweizer] has the answer. It’s called ‘Red-Handed.’ The new book Red-Handed outlines the answer to these disturbing questions.”
