In many speeches, Mayorkas says he is building a mass migration system to deliver workers to wealthy employers and investors and “equity” to poor foreigners. The nation’s border laws are subordinate to elites’ opinion about “the values of our country,” Mayorkas claims.
Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs (D) is asking President Joe Biden to reimburse her state to the tune of more than $500 million for costs associated with illegal immigration. Hobbs is only the latest Democrat governor to ask for such a bailout.
In a letter to Biden late last week, Hobbs asked the White House to reimburse the state of Arizona for more than $512 million in costs related to illegal immigrants pouring across the United States–Mexico border at unprecedented levels since January 2021.
“Additionally, the Governor billed the federal government for $512,529,333 in reimbursements for ongoing border operations resulting from the federal government’s failure to secure the Arizona border,” a press release from Hobbs’s office reads. “Moving forward, the state will regularly seek reimbursement from the federal government.”
Despite calling out the White House for waves of illegal immigration at the border, Hobbs stopped short of urging Biden to stop the inflow — like other Democrat governors who have complained about the strain illegal aliens cause but have not demanded a halt to their arrival.
In August, for example, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) asked Biden to have American taxpayers provide illegal aliens in her state with healthcare services, housing vouchers, free public transportation, and additional English as a second language (ESL) services in the state’s public schools.
“It is the federal government’s direct responsibility to manage and control of [sic] the nation’s borders,” Hochul wrote to Biden at the time without requesting his administration stop illegal immigration in its tracks.
Likewise, Democrat sanctuary city mayors from New York City’s Eric Adams to Chicago’s Brandon Johnson have asked for billions in bailouts from Biden regarding illegal immigration, but have yet to ask the White House to stop the inflow.
In October, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) admitted that illegal immigration is an “enormous strain” on the state’s taxpayers but did not ask Biden to stop sending new arrivals to his state. Instead, Pritzker asked Biden to funnel more foreign workers into jobs.

Migrant Crisis Grows in Arizona Border Sector — 19K Apprehensions in One Week
The Biden administration’s Arizona border crisis continues to expand to an “unprecedented flow” of migrants crossing the border from Mexico. During the first week of December, Tucson Sector agents apprehended nearly 19,000 migrants.
Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent John Modlin posted a weekly update on X revealing that his agents apprehended 18,900 migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico into Arizona.
The apprehensions resulted in 145 federal criminal cases being filed, 15 migrant rescues, and the interdiction of ten human smuggling incidents, Modlin reported.
The nearly 19,000 migrant apprehensions this week are up from 17,500 the week before and 15,300 during the previous week.
The massive surge of migrants crossing the Arizona border from Mexico has overwhelmed the capacity of Border Patrol officials to transport and process migrants. This left hundreds of migrants stranding along the border wall in winter conditions and forced massive migrant releases into the U.S. interior.
Breitbart Texas’ Randy Clark traveled to Lukeville, Arizona, and witnessed the encampment of stranded migrants along the border wall near the closed port of entry.
Clark wrote:
Breitbart Texas arrived in Lukeville, Arizona, on Saturday morning as a limited number of Border Patrol agents stood watch over hundreds of migrants from a host of countries as far away as Pakistan, the Middle East, the People’s Republic of China, Ecuador, and several West African nations. The migrants stripped branches from scrub brush in the Organ Pipe National Monument reserve to build fires for warmth as they waited for days to be processed and released by the Border Patrol.

As the fires burned out, some migrants walked into the reserve area to strip branches from small trees to fuel the fires. Lacking bathroom facilities, the necessity to use the federally protected reserve area to perform bodily functions was unavoidable as they awaited transport to a processing facility. Due to the remoteness of Lukeville and the demands of other migrant groups apprehended within the Tucson Sector, buses and vans arriving to transport the migrants away from Lukeville were few and far between.
The overcrowding of Border Patrol processing centers forced mass migrant releases in Tucson, Clark reported. Breitbart witnessed a steady stream of full buses dropping migrants off at the Casa Alitas Migrant Welcome Center in Tucson.
At the Tucson International Airport, TSA officials set up a special line for newly released migrants who are traveling without normal TSA-approved travel documents, Clark reported.
“As Breitbart Texas watched, several regular travelers were politely told to exit the special ‘migrant security line’ because they were not non-citizens,” Clark wrote. “The migrants traveling on Friday carried manila envelopes that contained a Notice to Appear and documents showing the migrants were released from federal custody on their own recognizance.”
During the first two months of the new fiscal year, which began on October 1, Border Patrol agents in the Tucson Sector apprehended approximately 119,000 of the 190,000 migrants apprehended along the southwest border in October and November.

The Center for Immigration Studies will host a panel discussion entitled “The Size and Implications of the Immigrant Population” on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. The featured experts will delve into the findings of the Center’s latest report, which revealed that the total foreign-born or immigrant population (legal and illegal) was nearly 50 million in October 2023 — a 4.5 million increase since President Biden took office and a new record high.
Rich Lowry, editor of the National Review, and Roy Beck, the former president of NumbersUSA, will join Steven Camarota, Center’s director of research and author of the new report. The panelists, who have all written extensively about the impact of immigration on the United States, will discuss what caused this rapid growth and the broad implications this has for American society, including the labor market, public coffers, politics, the environment, and culture.
Border Patrol agents working the nine southwest border sectors apprehended more than 50,000 migrants during the first week of December, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports obtained by Breitbart Texas. The Del Rio and Tucson Sectors lead the list with the most apprehensions.
According to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas, agents assigned to the southwest border apprehended just over 50,000 migrants during the first seven days of December. This follows a total of at least 379,000 apprehended in October and November. If the December average daily apprehension rate of more than 7,000 migrants continues, the agency could apprehend nearly 224,000 migrants by the end of the month.
The numbers reflected in the seven-day report reviewed by Breitbart Texas may not include additional migrants who surrendered to agents in the Del Rio and Tucson Sectors but were not processed by the time of that day’s report. The adjusted numbers will be reported by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in the December Southwest Land Border Encounters report, which will be released in mid-January.
The Del Rio Sector appears to have the most significant number of reported apprehensions during the seven-day period. Reviewed reports and a post by Del Rio Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Juan Bernal bring the apprehension total to just under 20,000 migrants during the first week of December.
The Tucson Sector reports the apprehension of just under 19,000 migrants for this period.
In the Del Rio Sector, apprehended migrants are mostly from Venezuela. This is in contrast with the Tucson Sectors reports of migrants traveling from as far away as Pakistan, the Middle East, the People’s Republic of China, Ecuador, and several West African nations, Breitbart Texas’ Randy Clark reported.

The average monthly mortgage payment in Joe Biden’s America has soared to $3,322, per analysis from the Wall Street Journal.
That $3,322 is nearly double the average monthly mortgage payment when His Fraudulency assumed office. When former President Trump left office, the average monthly mortgage payment was $1,787.
“Homeownership has become a pipe dream for more Americans,” writes the WSJ, “even those who could afford to buy just a few years ago.”
“Many would-be buyers were already feeling stretched thin by home prices that shot quickly higher in the pandemic, but at least mortgage rates were low,” the report adds. “Now that they are high, many people are just giving up.”

But let’s remember who these people are who are looking to enter the housing market — young people. And who do young people vote for overwhelmingly? Democrats. And so, allow me to welcome you to today’s edition of People Getting What They Vote For:
It is now less affordable than any time in recent history to buy a home, and the math isn’t changing any time soon. Home prices aren’t expected to go back to prepandemic levels. The Federal Reserve, which started raising rates aggressively early last year to curb inflation, hasn’t shown much interest in cutting them. Mortgage rates slipped to about 7% last week, the lowest in several months, but they are still more than double what they were two years ago.
This is good news for me. The wife and I purchased our home in 1997. Afterward, we worked hard and saved harder to pay it off by 2003. Ever since we’ve been saving our money for retirement, and now that we are Of A Certain Age where it’s no longer wise to try to ride out stock market downturns, we have taken advantage of these gloriously high interest rates Democrats voted for. Our money is now nice and safe and snug in an interest-bearing account working its butt off for us. Thanks, Unhoused Zoomers!
Oh, but YOU can’t buy a home because you voted for a Democrat. Cry more.
Those obnoxiously high mortgage payments are not only due to the Bidenflation caused by His Fraudulency’s lunatic government spending. There are other factors…
For those of you who vote Democrat and are currently pissing away all your money on rent because you can’t afford a home, riddle me this: What happens to the housing market when a president throws open our southern border to millions and millions of illegal aliens who need a place to live? Think hard now… Could it be that when you have a finite amount of something people want and then flood the country with millions more people who want it…? Yes, that’s right, dummies, the cost of that Something People Want explodes and that Something People Want becomes scarcer. And now you want it and can’t get it because you’re a dummy.
The second factor is this… Democrats hate single-family homes. This is why they use Climate Change to justify blocking the construction of new homes. Democrats want us all packed in cities in massive government housing complexes. By the way, they make no secret of this.
The final factor is this… This is all by design, dummies. Democrats know lunatic government spending creates lunatic inflation and that lunatic inflation destroys purchasing power and creates high interest rates that make it impossible for the middle class to purchase a home. Democrats also know that when you flood a country already dealing with a housing crisis caused by enviro-lies with millions of illegals, housing costs explode.
Democrats don’t want you to own anything, especially a house. The mantra is, “You’ll own nothing and be happy.” This also means you will never accrue wealth because the middle and working class can only accrue wealth through home ownership. And when I say “wealth,” I don’t mean rich. Believe me, as hard and smart as my wife and I have worked, no one would consider us rich. But we do have a nest egg for retirement that will make us more comfortable than Social Security.
By design, the Democrat party and their pals in multinational corporations make out like bandits in a non-ownership society. You are dependent on the government and until the day you die, and you are eternally making monthly payments for your home (wake up, dummies), your car, your music, your movies, your TV programming, your radio, your computer operating system, and whatever other demonic subscription service they can rope you into (coffee! meals! makeup! car washes! perfume! veterinary care!).
So keep voting Democrat, dummies. It’s no skin off my nose. I’m set. And I’m enjoying this 5.5 percent guaranteed annual interest rate almost as much as my toldjasos.

CNN host Fareed Zakaria said Sunday on his show “Fareed Zakaria GPS” that American universities were “pushing political agendas” over academic excellence.
Zakaria said, “Three university presidents came under fire this week for their vague and indecisive answers when asked whether calling for the genocide of Jews would violate their institution’s codes of conduct. But to understand their performance, we have to understand the broad shift that has taken place at elite universities, which have gone from being centers of excellence to institutions pushing political agendas. People sense the transformation.”
He continued, “American universities have been neglecting a core focus on excellence in order to pursue a variety of agendas, many of them clustered around diversity and inclusion. It started with the best of intentions. Colleges wanted to make sure young people of all backgrounds had access to higher education and felt comfortable on campus. But those good intentions have morphed into a dogmatic ideology and turn these universities into places where the pervasive goals of political and social engineering, not academic merit. As the evidence produced for the recent Supreme Court case on affirmative action showed, universities have systematically downplayed merit based criteria for admissions in favor of racial quotas. Some universities’ response to this ruling seems to be that they will go further down this path, eliminating the requirement for any standardized tests like the SAT. That move would allow them to then take students with little reference to objective criteria. Of course, those who would suffer most would be bright students from poor backgrounds who normally use tests like PSAT to demonstrate their qualifications. In the humanities hiring for new academic positions now appears to center on the race and gender of the applicant, as well as the subject matter, which needs to be about marginalized groups. A white man studying the American presidency does not have a prayer of getting tenure at a major history department.”
Zakaria said, “The most obvious lack of diversity at universities, political diversity, which clearly affects their ability to analyze many issues, is never addressed assuring that these goals are not centrally achieving to sustaining or building excellence. Out of this culture of diversity has grown the collection of ideas and practices that we have now all heard of: safe spaces, trigger warnings, microaggressions.”
He added, “The Jewish groups would wonder why do safe spaces, microaggressions and hate speech not apply to us? If universities can take positions against free speech to make some groups feel safe, why not us? Having coddled so many student groups for so long, university administrators found themselves squirming, unable to explain why certain groups — Jews, Asians don’t seem to count in these conversations. Having gone so far down the ideological path, these universities and these presidents could not make the case clearly that at the center of a university is the free expression of ideas and that while harassment and intimidation would not be tolerated, offensive speech would and should be protected.
Zakaria concluded, “America’s top colleges are no longer seen as bastions of excellence but partisan outfits, which means they will keep getting buffeted by these political storms as they emerge. They should abandon this long misadventure into politics, retrain their gaze on their core strengths, and rebuild their reputations as centers of research and learning.”
