Biden’s DHS Budget: More $$ for Migrants and Lawyers, No $$ for the Wall

President Joe Biden’s first budget for border security would discard unspent funds for the border wall and then spend extra money to legalize more migrants and launch more investigations of immigration enforcement officers.

The pro-migration budget request to Congress was announced Friday by the administration, which said it wants $52 billion for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from October 2021 to September 2022.

The request is short on details, but it asks Congress to take back money appropriated in prior years for the construction of the border wall:

The discretionary request includes no additional funding for border wall construction and proposes the cancellation of prior-year balances that are unobligated at the end of 2021.

Biden’s deputies have halted the border wall’s construction, even though many of the gaps used by migrants could be closed by the unspent money that Congress allocated in 2019 and 2020 to the construction of the border wall. More than $1 billion of allocated funds has not been obligated to contractors.

The Biden budget does not ask for extra funds to hire more agents to block and deport the current surge of roughly one million migrants seeking access to Americans’ jobs, wages, and schools.

But the Biden request does ask for extra money to ensure that more border agents and enforcement officers can face threatened or real investigation of claimed crimes:

This funding level also provides $470 million, an additional $84 million over the 2021 enacted level, for the Offices of Professional Responsibility at Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, to ensure that DHS workforce complaints, including those related to white supremacy or ideological and non-ideological beliefs, are investigated expeditiously.

The discretionary request proposes increasing funding for the Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties to address the press of complaints the office has received, but has been unable to process because of staffing shortages.

The budget also wants funds to ensure DHS and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) welcome and accelerate the inflow of migrants into Americans’ blue-collar jobs, housing markets, and K-12 schools:

Restores America’s Promise to Refugees. The discretionary request provides $4.3 billion to the [HHS] Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). This funding level would rebuild the Nation’s refugee resettlement infrastructure and support the resettling of up to 125,000 refugees in 2022, which would represent the highest number of refugees admitted to the United States in 30 years.

Many imported refugees are hired for low-wage jobs in retail stores and slaughterhouses, so reducing the need for companies to hire Americans at higher wages or to transfer profits into the purchase of labor-saving machines.

The budget seeks taxpayer funds to hire lawyers who can guide younger migrants through the thickets of American immigration law, past the  immigration judges who would return them to their home countries, and into legal status:

The discretionary request for [HHS} ORR also reflects a commitment to ensuring unaccompanied immigrant children are unified with relatives and sponsors as safely and quickly as possible and to providing these children with care and services that align with child welfare best practices while they are in ORR’s custody. Such services would include expanded access to counsel [emphasis added] to help children navigate complex immigration court proceedings. In addition, the discretionary request redresses past wrongs by providing resources for critical supportive services—including trauma and mental health services—to children cruelly separated from their families under the previous administration.

DHS should also get more money to accelerate the movement of migrants into Americans’ jobs, according to the budget request:

The discretionary request provides $345 million for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services to address naturalization and asylum backlogs [of migrants seeking green cards], support up to 125,000 refugee admissions in 2022, and allow for systems and operations modernization. The discretionary request supports expanded access to the Alternatives to Detention program and provides enhanced case management services, particularly for families seeking asylum.

The Department of Justice would get money to hire pro-migration judges who will often stop deportation cases, and rubber-stamp requests for asylum and green cards:

In order to address the nearly 1.3 million outstanding cases before the immigration courts, the discretionary request makes an investment of $891 million, an increase of $157 million or 21 percent over the 2021 enacted level, in the Executive Office for Immigration Review. This funding supports 100 new immigration judges, including support personnel, as well as other efficiency measures to reduce the backlog.

It is not clear if the GOP will work hard to block these cheap labor, pro-employer, anti-employee spending programs — or just stage a theatrical opposition in public while they shrug their shoulders in closed door budget meetings.

However, the business-backed Democrats have the advantage because they hold slight majorities in the House and Senate after GOP leaders helped lose two January elections for Senate seats in Georgia.

Also, Congress usually stages the budget fights so that all the critical decisions are packed into massive budget bills in October. That strategy leaves the public with little way to track their legislators’ opposition to damaging budget requests.

The Biden document declares that the budget request “supports the promise of a fair and equitable immigration system that welcomes immigrants and reflects the Nation’s values.”

That sentence is likely a suggestion that the United States is a “Nation of Immigrants” rather than a nation of Americans.

But polls show that the “Nation of Immigrants” agenda is shared by only a minority of Americans, such as immigration lawyers, CEOs, and investors who profit from a socially chaotic inflow of diverse, low-wage migrants. Careful polls show that the vast majority of Americans believe that their American children and neighbors should be first in line for jobs, wages, housing, education, and other opportunities.

The funding request would eliminate spending on the border wall — but drastically ramps up spending on Democrats’ pro-migration and other priorities, including “climate change.”

The request wants funding for “Confronts Climate Change and Other Disaster Challenges,” saying:

The discretionary request expands DHS’s work with State and local communities to prepare for the impacts of climate change. The discretionary request invests an additional $540 million above the 2021 enacted level to incorporate climate impacts into pre-disaster planning and resilience efforts. This funding level also supports a resilient infrastructure community grant program, which prioritizes climate resilience projects for vulnerable and historically underserved communities. In addition, the discretionary request continues investments in the incident response workforce to ensure sufficient personnel are trained and available for deployment to help communities respond to future disasters. The discretionary request would also increase the number of FEMA staff equipped to support communities in order to prepare and respond to disasters in an equitable manner.

Revitalizes Research and Development Capacity. The discretionary request proposes $599 million for investments in research, development, and innovation across the Department, to lay a strong foundation for securing the American public from future threats. These projects would focus primarily on climate resilience, cybersecurity data analytics, and transportation security technologies.

Border Patrol Council President: ‘The Cartels Control the Border Now’

(CNSNews.com) – National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd said Friday that the Border Patrol no longer controls the U.S.-Mexico border, the cartels do.

“I was asked last night who is controlling the border? Is it President Biden? Is it Kamala Harris, who is it? And my answer was, it’s the cartels. The cartels control the borders now. It’s not even the Border Patrol. It’s not even the U.S. government,” Judd told Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom.”

Judd said that despite DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas visiting the border on Thursday, there’s “no sign” of a change that could stem the surge.

“No sign. He has been down to the border a couple of times. I’m gonna remind you that President Biden nor Vice President Kamala Harris have come down to the border. I can tell you that when you see this issue firsthand, you’re more willing to make changes. Vice President Pence came to the border, went into the processing facility, saw how it was going, and there were immediate changes that happened right after that visit,” he said.

“So we do need to have the people that are making these decisions come down to the border, see exactly what is going on so that hopefully they will go back and say we messed up, we need to go back to what we were doing that solved this issue, that dropped us to 45-year lows in illegal immigration and then we can get a handle on this and go after the cartels and drug smugglers and go after those things that are dangerous to the American public,” Judd said.

Judd found it “upsetting” that some think the fact that there are so many arrests at the border and so many children in U.S. custody that it shows that border security is working and the Border Patrol have all they need.

“We were never trained to do a humanitarian mission, although we do it well. When we have to, we'll step up to the plate, and we’ll do our jobs. However, we were trained to go after criminal aliens. We were trained to go after cartels. That's exactly what we want to do. We want to do a law enforcement mission,” he said.

“We want to protect the American public, but when we get flooded with unaccompanied children, and when we get flooded with family units, it pulls our resources out of the field, and it creates artificial gaps, which allows the cartels to generate billions of dollars of profit, and they’re generating that profit off of our policies, and that should upset every single American,” Judd said.

Judd said that if the Biden administration did what he suggested to stop the surge at the border, the change will be “almost immediate.”

“It’s like a light switch. Once people understand that they’re not going to get released into the United States after they cross our borders illegally, they stop coming, but if they know that all they have to do is make an illegal entry and they’re just going to get released to Des Moines, Iowa, Chicago, Illinois, Miami, Florida, if they know that they're going to be released, they're going to continue to come,” he said.

“That's that magnet that was reintroduced when President Biden rescinded the Migrant Protection Protocols. We’ve got to back to what is working, and if we do that, it's just like a light switch,” Judd added.

He said that migrant children are kept in “deplorable conditions, and it makes me sick that under the Trump administration, there were politicians that were yelling and screaming about kids in cages, yet we're putting these kids in the same exact facilities, and it’s mum.

“They don't say anything. That lets you know that this is politics. it doesn't matter how these kids are -- what the condition these kids are under. It's politics, and that's disgusting,” Judd said.

When asked what it says about the priorities of the Biden administration, Judd said, “It says that there’s no priorities as far as border security goes.”

Nat’l Guard Association Chair: Up to 50 Migrants a Day Being Released into Communities with Less Than 1,000 People in Them

1:08

On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Evening Edit,” National Guard Association Chairman Michael McGuire said that due to crowding in migrant facilities, Customs and Border Protection are releasing “up to 50 personnel per day” into communities “that have less than a thousand people in them. And that creates a humanitarian and a public health crisis for these very, very rural and under-resourced communities.”

McGuire said, “I believe it’s safe to say that they are looking for loopholes to take advantage of this, and the time is becoming so crowded in the facilities that Customs and Border Protection are releasing, in some of our more rural communities, up to 50 personnel per day that are either adults or family units into the communities that have less than a thousand people in them. And that creates a humanitarian and a public health crisis for these very, very rural and under-resourced communities.”

DOJ Releases MS-13 Report

74 percent of gang defendants charged were unlawfully present in the United States

By Andrew R. Arthur on October 23, 2020

On Wednesday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) released "Full-Scale Response: A Report on the Department of Justice's Efforts to Combat MS-13 from 2016-2020". It is well worth the read, detailing the department's efforts to eradicate Mara Salvatrucha-13 (MS-13), which was designated as a significant transnational criminal organization (TCO) during the Obama administration in 2012, worldwide. The most interesting — but not shocking — takeaway is that some 74 percent of the MS-13 defendants prosecuted by DOJ during the past four years are in the United States illegally.

The situation along the United States-Mexico border worsens as the Biden Administration continues to hold up a vacancy sign to the world. The humanitarian crisis that is happening because of President Biden’s dereliction of duty is coming to a neighborhood near you.

It is Biden’s invitation to “surge to the border” that has brought more human, sex, and drug trafficking than ever before. A group of 112 individuals recently entered the U.S. illegally and surrendered to Border Patrol agents. In today’s world that isn’t so unusual.

But, in that group of 112 the oldest was 94years old! The youngest was only 4years old. That child was traveling without a parent, guardian, or any family member. Someone put that child’s life at risk by placing the child into the hands of the criminal cartels.

An American parent who did that would lose his or her rights to that child and likely be arrested. The Biden plan is to take that child and give him or her to someone in the U.S. who may be here illegally, and may have endangered the life of that child.

The other night I joined some of my Republican colleagues along the southern border near McAllen, Texas. As we drove and walked along the Rio Grande, we saw signs along the dirt road telling illegal border crossers the directions to a facility where Border Patrol agents would be waiting for them.

When we drove by the facility there were hundreds of people who had recently crossed the river illegally and waited to be picked up and processed, then swiftly released into the interior of the United States.

We passed three different groups totaling more than seventy people—many of them women and children—who had made the trek by paying the vile criminal cartels who traffic in sex, drugs, and humans.

The system is upside down. If most of those same people showed up at a port of entry, as all legal visitors of the United States do, they would have been turned away because there is no provision in the law to admit them.

But under Biden’s inhumane open borders policy, those who illegally enter the U.S. between the ports of entry will be given the opportunity to work and live in this country instead of being removed to their home nations.

That means Americans will pay for in-person schooling for illegal alien children, while many schools remain closed to children who are legally in the United States.

It means that Americans foot the bill to provide education, healthcare, foster care, housing, food, transportation, and in many cases, legal services, for hundreds of thousands of people who have illegally entered the country.

This type of nonsense must end now. It can end rather quickly if we have the will.

The first step to end this is for President Biden to loudly proclaim to the world to stop coming. This won’t happen, because he and his administration campaigned to open our southern border. They are getting exactly what they want. And their success is creating a catastrophe for America.

Biden should reinstate the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) otherwise known as the Remain in Mexico Policy and the agreements with Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras. He should finish the border wall. He should rescind the COVID relief payments being given to illegal aliens (and imprisoned felons).

He should order immigration law judges to the border and put the newest asylum cases to the top of the pile. The backlogged cases for asylum seekers number in the hundreds of thousands. They can wait. The last-in, first-heard method would expose the tens of thousands of new fraudulent asylum claims and remove those people from America.

This is no longer simply a border state crisis. The “Biden Inhumane Border Crisis” now reaches into every corner of the nation. If you haven’t directly felt it yet, you will.

Mexico Tells Biden: Expect ‘Constant and Growing’ Migration

More migrants are coming to the United States, and the solution is more U.S. foreign aid to Central America, says Mexico’s foreign minister.

“If you look at the region from different points of view, but especially demographics and economics, it is clear the flows are going to be constant and growing in coming years,” said foreign secretary Marcelo Ebrard, according to an Associated Press April 8 report.

“The United States will have to allocate $2 billion per year for development in these countries, in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador,” said Ebrard, who is involved in the slow-motion negotiations with the White House about the migration surge into the United States.

The $2 billion per year is roughly twice as much money as the $1 billion per year that President Joe Biden has suggested the U.S. should spend in Central America.

But Biden’s offer of $1 billion is equivalent to just $30.22 per person in Central America — and is only a tiny slice of the economic damage caused by U.S. extraction-migration policies to ordinary Americans, Mexicans, and the people in Central America.

More importantly, there is little evidence the U.S. wants to stop migration from Central America, said Rob Law, the director of regulatory affairs and policy at the Center for Immigration Studies.

Many U.S. business groups and donors want to extract migrants from nearby countries because they stimulate the U.S. economy,  minimize wage gains by Americans, pump up consumer sales, and boost rental prices.  The 2021 inflow under Biden’s border welcome is likely to add roughly 1 million people — or about one migrant for every four Americans who turn 18 and begin looking for jobs.

Biden’s extraction-migration policy is also damaging to Mexico, said Law, because it “just gets trampled on by caravans and further fuels, the integration of the [armed] cartels and the [migrant-smuggling] coyotes.” Law added:

Mexico is trying to really figure out what the actual [White House] position is because there’s so much wink and nod language coming out of the Bible administration.

[U.S. officials] say they don’t want the border crisis, and say they’re sending all of this [aid] money down to address root causes [in Central America], even though the root cause is the Biden administration itself.

By rewarding the movement of migrants into the United States, Biden’s White House is “colonizing Central America by extracting the populations and bringing them here, so destroying those [Central American] countries,” said Law.

In March, Biden handed the migration portfolio to Vice President Kamala Harris, who has enthusiastically supported migration from Central America into the United States. Since then, her staff has claimed she is trying to resolve the “root causes” of migration, but not to curb the current inflow.

This week the State Department also torpedoed negotiations with Nayid Bukele, the popular president of El Salvador. The very popular president has urged the United States to help stop young people’s migration from El Salvador to U.S. workplaces. Migration “is bad for the United States because immigration will go up, and it’s bad for our country because [of] people leaving the country … so it’s bad for both of us,” he told Fox News’s Tucker Carlson in March.

In contrast, former President Donald Trump moved decisively in 2019 by pressuring Mexico to block the flow of migrants into the United States. Trump’s policy raised Americans’ wages and also proved very popular in Mexico, where many people oppose the cartel-aided trafficking of migrants across Mexico into the U.S. economy.

The $2 billion per year in foreign aid suggested by Mexico is a large amount of money — but is a tiny share of the annual cost of legal and illegal migration.

For example, migrants cost state and local governments roughly $57 billion per year, according to a 2016 report by the National Academies of Sciences.

But that is good for U.S. business because the taxpayers’ $57 billion in extra welfare, education, and healthcare spending eventually end up in company revenues.

This month, New York’s government allocated $2.1 billion to the poor migrants who support the city’s elite-run economy. The resulting payout of $15,600 per illegal migrant helps to preserve a labor force that allows city elites to extract wealth and political power from blue-collar and white-collar Americans.

Joseph Salvo, New York City’s chief demographer, told the New York Times why the city of eight million needs new bodies to replace the legal and illegal migrants who exited the city because of the coronavirus crash:

In the pandemic, [migrants] are trying to make a living and coming home and living in close proximity to other people. And they work the cash-only jobs, service jobs, services in buildings, home health aides, that we start to lose. Our growth is going to depend on giving support to these immigrants, many of whom suffered and lost family members.

What we pray will happen is that the city will come back with a ferocity we have never seen in food, beverage, entertainment and hotels. All of that is going to come back. And hopefully the immigrant population will prosper because of that. That’s the key.

The city is 37 percent foreign-born, and if you add the next generation, it’s more than 50 percent. We have more than three million immigrants. The largest groups are from China, Dominican Republic and Mexico.

“The city will rise — It will rise through the power of immigration,” Salvo said.

If Biden does not supply the city with a new wave of needy low-wage migrants, the city’s business and government leaders will have to attract young Americans from interior states with offers of higher wages, better housing, and improved law enforcement.

In effect, Biden’s policy helps elites and investors hire foreigners and ignore Americans from poor states and regions, such as Sen. Joe Manchin’s West Virginia.

For years, GOP leaders — such as Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) or Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) — have done nothing to stop the nation’s migration system from shifting wealth from interior GOP-led states to the Democrat-run coastal states.

Correspondingly, Americans would gain economically if the U.S. government paid poor people in the Central American countries to stay home and build up their own economies, writes David North, an analyst with Law’s Center for Immigration Studies.

The U.S. should offer vaccinations and cash to young people in Central America “in exchange for a pledge on the part of the recipients that they would make no effort to come to the U.S., legally or illegally, in the following two or three years.”

He added, “In exchange for these benefits, they would sign a piece of paper permitting their immediate deportation should they be found in the U.S.”

For many years, a wide variety of pollsters have shown deep and broad opposition to labor migration and the inflow of temporary contract workers into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates.

The multiracialcross-sexnon-racistclass-basedintra-Democratic, and solidarity-themed opposition to labor migration coexists with generally favorable personal feelings toward legal immigrants and toward immigration in theory — despite the media magnification of many skewed polls and articles that still push the 1950’s corporate “Nation of Immigrants” claim.

Recently Captured Gulf Cartel Boss Was a Mexican Border City Cop

MATAMOROS, Tamaulipas – The recent capture of a top leader within the Gulf Cartel sparked controversy after a collection of documents revealed he was either a current or a former local police officer. The revelation has led to finger-pointing weeks before Mexico’s federal elections this coming summer.

This week, Breitbart Texas broke the story and published an exclusive photograph of Evaristo “Vaquero” Cruz Sanchez’s after his arrest in Nuevo Leon. Vaquero was the elusive leader of the Matamoros faction of the Gulf Cartel. Breitbart Texas also published information provided from U.S. law enforcement sources that revealed officials targeted Vaquero for his role in using cartel funds to finance political campaigns. Authorities also arrested Raul Cantu de La Garza, a candidate with the Movimiento Ciudadano Party, in Nuevo Leon. Authorities also detained a drug lord tied to Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion named Santiago “El Chago” Villarreal. It remains unclear if authorities released him or if he was able to bribe his way to freedom.

In the aftermath, news outlets in Mexico published documents revealing that El Vaquero was a police officer in Matamoros. Outlets reported that Vaquero was hired by current Matamoros Mayor Mario “La Borrega” Lopez, who hails from the MORENA party, the one founded by Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

In response to the documents, the City of Matamoros held a news conference and released a statement noting that El Vaquero was in fact a police officer but had been hired during the previous administration of Jesus de la Garza Dias del Guante from the Revolutionary Institutional Party (PRI). According to the statement, Vaquero did not work as a cop under the current administration.

Editor’s Note: Breitbart Texas traveled to the Mexican States of Tamaulipas, Coahuila, and Nuevo León to recruit citizen journalists willing to risk their lives and expose the cartels silencing their communities.  The writers would face certain death at the hands of the various cartels that operate in those areas including the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas if a pseudonym were not used. Breitbart Texas’ Cartel Chronicles are published in both English and in their original Spanish. This article was written by “J.A. Espinoza” and “J.C. Sanchez” from Tamaulipas.

“Joe Biden is great on immigration. I guess depends on your perspective. If you’re a human trafficker, or drug dealer, or all those migrants wearing the Biden let us in shirts, you’d give him an A-plus, plus, but the American people would give him an F. The crisis we said our border was not only entirely predictable. It was predicted. I predicted it last fall that if you campaign all year long on open borders, amnesty, and health care for illegals, you’re going to get more migrants at the border. That’s exactly what’s happened every month since the election.”

Federal agents raided Q.T Fashion and numerous other businesses in the downtown fashion district Wednesday, cracking down on a scheme that cartels are increasingly relying on to get their profits — from drug sales, kidnappings and other illegal activities — back to Mexico, authorities said.

Nine people were arrested in raids targeting 75 locations, and $90 million was seized — $70 million in cash. In one condo, agents found $35 million stuffed in banker boxes. At a mansion in Bel-Air, they discovered $10 million in duffel bags.

"Los Angeles has become the epicenter of narco-dollar money laundering with couriers regularly bringing duffel bags and suitcases full of cash to many businesses," said Robert E. Dugdale, the assistant U.S. attorney in charge of federal criminal prosecutions in Los Angeles.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Mexican Cartels Control the U.S. Border, Says Rep. Chip Roy

Cartel Chronicles
Volume 90%
2:45

The ongoing immigration crisis is caused by Mexican cartels and the federal government is turning a blind eye, Texas Congressman Chip Roy argues.

“The most important thing for the American people to understand is that cartels control the border,” Congressman Roy said. “This administration is allowing it to happen, they are doing it in the name of illegal immigrants and is not compassionate to be forcing people to have to go through the chains of cartels to come to the United States.”

Breitbart Texas spoke with Congressman Roy during a series of border trips where he has been trying to learn from agents on the ground and, at times, migrants themselves about the realities of the immigration crisis. According to Roy, bad policy decisions followed by poor messaging from the Biden Administration triggered the latest surge. The Gulf Cartel and the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas have operational control of the border in their respective territories and are profiting since nothing crosses without their permission.

One of the most shocking revelations is that the vast majority of migrants who reach the Texas border have suffered through threats, extortion, abuse, kidnappings, rapes, and other types of horrors at the hands of cartels, he said.

“It’s horrific,” Roy said. “I understand people that want their children to have an opportunity in the United States–I mean who wouldn’t–I get it. But let’s also keep in mind what we are doing to our neighbors to the south.”

The current path is increasing the power of cartels in Mexico who are profiting immensely, while the country’s government is getting weaker, Roy said adding that the crisis is causing a labor and brain drain in Central America.

“We should be working to have a strong Western Hemisphere, where we have strong countries and neighbors to the south,” Roy said. “We should be improving the conditions of  countries to the south by working with them rather than empowering cartels.”

Biden gives cartel human-smugglers an 'assist' by handing out free hotel rooms to illegal migrants

By Monica Showalter

Well, that was deluxe.

After riding through Mexico under car seats, inside sweltering trucks, stuffed in packed trunks, shimmying through rat-infested tunnels, crossing rivers, and on the tops of trains, illegal migrant families (or "families") who make it illegally across to the states get free hotel rooms, courtesy of Joe Biden and the U.S. taxpayer.

That's what Biden has mandated in his self-created border crisis that didn't exist until he started offering immigration line-cutters benefits, and not surprisingly, the migrants are pouring over. Now some new goodies await at the finish line.

Yet here's what Biden said ahead of it:

“I can say quite clearly, ‘Don’t come over,'” Biden said regarding the rise in border crossings. “Don’t leave your town or city or community.

With free hotel rooms, and five thousand people and counting getting across each day, sounds like nobody is listening.

According to Axios, cited by Daily Caller, illegal migrant families can now look forward not to migrant jails but to free hotel rooms once they make it across without papers.

The Biden administration has awarded an $86 million contract for hotel rooms near the border to hold around 1,200 migrant family members who cross the U.S.-Mexico border, DHS officials confirmed to Axios.

Why it matters: It's a sign of growing numbers of migrant families trying to come to the U.S. — in addition to already overwhelming numbers of kids crossing the border without their parents or legal guardians. Both trends appear to be straining government resources.

· The contract through Endeavors, a Texas-based nonprofit, is for six months but could be extended and expanded. The hotels will be near border areas, including in Arizona and Texas.

That's a lot more than legal immigrants get. That's a lot more than an American abroad who's been robbed and goes to a U.S. embassy for help gets. That's a lot more than even irresponsible people who's gone into the wilderness against advice and trigger costly rescues get -- they usually have to pay for their rescues. And don't even think about an American who can't pay his taxes, he's not getting free rides, either. Not even most of the homeless, judging by the blue-city streets, get free hotel rooms. (San Francisco has been an exception.)

Anybody paying for these free hotel rooms? Like maybe someone with a spare $6,000 to pay a cartel human smuggler? Doesn't sound like it. This one's on the taxpayer.

What is amounts to is Joe Biden trying to hide the crisis by throwing money at NGOs and hoping no one notices the unvetted illegals, some with COVID, filling up border town hotel rooms. No kids in cages pictures seems to be the aim, given Biden's effort to cover up such news from the media. Now with the migrants scattered about in private hotel rooms in border towns, the Biden logic is that perhaps the media will go away.

That's a service-added for the cartels, which do entice migrants to leave their homes based on such goodies and not surprisingly they make lots of money off these crossings. The free hotels will add more. Thanks, Joe.

At a minimum, busting a cartel and using its "earnings" from migrants ought to be mandated to pay for these hotels. And not just them, but the governments of the countries that permits these exoduses to benefit from billions in remittances as well as reduced public pressure to reform themselves to make their countries liveable. Anybody there paying? Nope, they get free money from Uncle Sam, too. And as for Mexico, well, they've managed to persuade bumbling Biden that they just don't have space to accommodate. Kind of saves them some trouble, doesn't it?

Strange how the federal government, in paying for free hotel rooms with taxpayer dollars is incentivizing more illegal immigration.

Let's take a look at Endeavors, the non-profit based in San Antonio, which appears to be fairly respectable with ties to various city governments and the United Way, with a reported 10% spent in overhead (which is low), though it doesn't disclose its total money-size in its last-posted 2019 Annual Report.

The group, founded by five Presbyterian churches around 1975 took various names until settling on its current one, and specializes in helping the drug-addicted homeless, including homeless vets and ex-cons, get back into society, which is obviously a costly process involving a lot of hand-holding. It's helped a grand total of 250 families (or, 800 individuals) over 15 years through its shelter project for them. Which is rather tiny, but remember, these projects are intensive. Here is a success story it reports in this video. Its 2019 Annual Report doesn't mention migrants.

But somehow, in the last one or two months, with the migrant surge, it's gotten itself this $86 million hotel contract, which sounds a little sudden, and a bit big as contracts go, for all the known indicators of its size, too. And it doesn't indicate in its report any specialty with migrants, though it has a minor migrant section on its website navbar under 'What We Do.' Migrants are going to want free lawyers, free phone calls, free meals, and free bus or plane tickets to their destinations of choice. Are they going to help with that, do they have enough bilingual staff that can be taken from their current hand-holding duties, or is someone else? They will probably have to hire people at pricey NGO salaries, raising their overhead.

Was there competitive bidding? Why did this take so little time, and why so much to a non-migrant group so small? There may be legitimate answers, or maybe it was cronyism, but unless the site tells us -- they actually say nothing about this on their website, it looks a little funny.

Now let's look at the size of this contract:

How many free hotel rooms for illegal aliens will $86 million buy? Well, here's a back of the envelope calculation:

Six months is 180 days of hotel rooming. The average hotel room cost in Arizona and Texas border cities -- I looked it up, is about $70 for Nogales, Arizona, and $108 for McAllen, Texas. Other border cities checked -- El Paso, Laredo, Tucson, and Douglas, are all between those ranges, with the Texas cities a bit above $100, and the Arizona towns around $90.

If $90 is the median, then the hotel room cost, divided evenly is about $478,000 a day, and extended over 180 days, brings us to $86 million. That would house about 5,000 families, which squares well with the Axios estimates for family sizes of two to three people. Maybe they get bulk rates or cheaper hotels and can house more, but this is unknown. Federal contracts are prized, after all, because they often pay full fare. Lots of $6,000 toilet seats, after all. But most families are supposedly staying only about 3 days, so the $17,200 figure for 5,000 people at a time would be for the entire six month duration. You can bet there will be a lot more than 5,000 people served if every illegal alien family only stays three days.

Bottom line, all of these new services for illegal border crossers are bonanzas, not just for the NGOs who benefit, they are benefits for human smuggling rackets, who can now advertise these wares as part of their illegal alien benefit packages and use the news of them to draw more business. Biden is helping that bunch ultimately with these free-hotel contracts even Americans in distress don't get. Cartels will use this incentive to drum up more business.

Migrant apprehensions at U.S.-Mexico border are surging again

The U.S. Border Patrol apprehended nearly 100,000 migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in February, the tenth consecutive month of increased apprehensions and a return to levels last seen in mid-2019. The number of monthly apprehensions had fallen to just 16,182 in April 2020, shortly after the coronavirus outbreak began, but apprehensions have climbed every month since then and reached 96,974 in February.

50. Barack Hussein Obama and Joe Biden: the most corrupt administration in American history

This list was amazingly easy to compile and nowhere near dispositive.  I can come up with many, many more items to add to this list of shame.  But this list should be persuasive enough to give anyone pause and provide a clear indication of the threat the modern left poses to the American way of life and our future as a free, secure, and prosperous society.

The unprincipled progressive politicians, the Marxist academics, the race-baiters, the anti-Trumpers, and the despicable media propagandists who constitute the modern left are selfishly pursuing a radical agenda intent on destroying America and its founding principles.  This anti-American leftist agenda must be stopped and thoroughly discredited before real and irrevocable harm is done.

Left unchecked, the modern radical left is an existential threat to our safety, our prosperity, and our freedom.  That means that the Wicked Witch of the West, Kamala Harris, and Swampy Joe, running as a "proud Democrat," must be defeated on November 3.  Anything less and America as we know it is finished.

Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 170,000 migrants in March who illegally crossed the border into the United States. This represents an increase of nearly 72 percent in one month.

During the month of March, Border Patrol agents took 168,195 migrants after they illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico according to the Southwest Land Border Encounters report released on Thursday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

“CBP has experienced an increase in encounters and arrests. This is not new. Encounters have continued to increase since April 2020, and our past experiences have helped us be better prepared for the challenges we face this year,” said CBP Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Commissioner Troy Miller in a written statement. “We are committed to balancing the need to maintain border security, care for those in our custody, and keep the American people and our workforce safe.”

While Miller says this is “not new,” it is exponential unprecedented growth as indicated by the blue line in the following CBP chart.

CBP Southwest Land Border Encounters Chart

During the first two full months of the Biden Administration (Feb-Mar), agents apprehended nearly 210,000 migrants. This compares to just over 280,000 during the last four months of the Trump administration combined.

CBP reports apprehending 30,389 migrants in March 2020. The March 2021 apprehension of 168,195 represents an increase of more than 450 percent over last year. Compared to the 2019 migrant border crisis, the apprehensions sat at 92,833.

CBP Apprehensions by Sector, FY2020 and FY2021 year-to-date.

Last month, agents apprehended 18,663 Unaccompanied Alien Children (up from 9,271 in February), 52,904 Family Unit Aliens (up from 19,286), and 96,628 Single Adults (up from 68,992).

The Rio Grande Valley Sector continues to lead the nine southwest border sectors with 159,470 apprehensions so far this fiscal year (which began on October 1, 2020). This represents an increase of 243 percent compared to FY2020 year-to-date statistics.

Biden’s DHS Budget: More $$ for Migrants and Lawyers, No $$ for the Wall

Migrants are seen in custody at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection processing area under the Anzalduas International Bridge, Friday, March 19, 2021, in Mission, Texas.

The deep public opposition is built on the widespread recognition that migration moves money away from most Americans.

It moves money from employees to employers, from families to investors, from young to old, from children to their parents, from homebuyers to real estate investors, and from the central states to the coastal states.
