This past week New Orleans reclaimed the title of America’s deadliest city after seeing murders jump 141% over the last couple of years. In New Orleans, the murder rate is a staggering 52 per 100,000 people. That compares to the national average of 6.9, the highest it’s been in a quarter century, and the 50 per 100,000 in Venezuela, the most dangerous country in the world.
Serial Killers Are Too White
But equity and diversity are helping minority serial killers make strides.
Netflix’s new Jeffrey Dahmer movie is revisiting stereotypes of serial killers as white men. The FBI however informs us that, “Contrary to popular belief, serial killers span all racial groups. There are white, African-American, Hispanic, and Asian serial killers. The racial diversification of serial killers generally mirrors that of the overall U.S. population.” We’ve come a long way, baby.
It’s been a long road toward equity and diversity in serial killing. Radford University’s serial killer database reveals that in 1900, a less diverse time, 72.9% of serial killers were white, while only 25% were black and none were Asian or Hispanic. By 1970, progressive forces were making inroads in our society so that only 60% of serial killers were white and 33% were black. Hispanic serial killers, long overlooked, became a serious presence in 1950 when they hit the murder charts at 2.8% and in a massive win for civil rights made it all the way up to 11% in 2000.

Progress for female serial killers has proven to be more elusive. Female serial killers hit an all-time high in the early 20th century with women accounting for a third of serial killers. Sadly the proliferation of serial killings increasingly made murder a a male-dominated field. While in 1900, there were 36 male serial killers to 13 female serial killers, by 2010 there were 110 male serial killers to 7 female serial killers. Even while feminism was moving forward, the number of female serial killers had actually declined in the face of aggressive male competition.
There is no question that serial killers of all races and ages have made enormous strides. The typical stereotype of a white male serial killer in his twenties represents only 7% of the serial killers between 1990 and 2016. That progress shows how far America has come since 1900.
Serial killer diversity has increased so that, as the FBI puts it, killers mirror the diversity of America, nonetheless the representation of serial killers both real and fictional lags behind.
While Jeffrey Dahmer, a white male, has been the subject of numerous movies, like Dahmer, Raising Jeffrey Dahmer and My Friend Dahmer, Carl Eugene Watts, a black serial killer nicknamed the Sunday Morning Slasher, remains largely unknown. Charles Ng, a Kim Jong-Un lookalike, who ran a sex dungeon where numerous women were kidnapped, tortured and killed, has no movies to his name. That shows us how far we have yet to go to fulfill our ideals.
“When you’re a white man, even an incomprehensible, horrific act will not only afford you the benefit of the doubt and an endless amount of excuses but maybe even glorify you to the point of someone making a multimillion-dollar, two-hour-long movie dedicated to unpacking your neuroses,” Teen Vogue complains.
Hollywood isn’t interested in a full representation of serial killing diversity because it’s racist.
White men like Dahmer can kill 17 people and become famous while Watts, who may have totaled 100 victims, can’t get a Hollywood agent to return his phone calls. And not just because he died in Jackson, Michigan in 2007. (Although that probably doesn’t help.)
Ángel Maturino Reséndiz, the Railroad Killer, who offed almost as many as Dahmer, and who had been deported four times to Mexico, is obscure despite the opportunity that his case presents for showing the contribution that illegal aliens continue to make to this country.
“Beneath the veneer of order, purity and casual disassociation there is a raging libido all the more terrible because whites are so emotionally, physically, viscerally out of touch with it,” Richard Dyer, formerly of Marxism Today, writes. “Serial killing must have something to do with whiteness.”
The over-representation of white serial killers makes sense from this perspective as a demonstration of white evil. A white school shooter is bound to spend a year on the evening news while gang members racking up 5 times his total over one month in Chicago are overlooked. To permit the representation of non-white male serial killers threatens the entire cultural and political hegemony of the progressive cause which is based on combatting whiteness. If anyone can be evil, that raises the possibility that the Left can also be evil.
The cultural response to Netflix’s Dahmer movie has been on the role of the cannibalistic serial killer as a stand-in for all white people.
“I’m Done Watching True Crime Romanticizing White People,” reacted Veronica Wells-Puoane at The Daily Beast. “It’s a choice that aligns with my decade-long practice of limiting my interactions with white people as much as possible.”
“Black queer Milwaukeeans on Netflix’s Jeffrey Dahmer series: ‘How dare you?'” an NBC News headline screams.
Invoking the white serial killer is a pretext for such racist tantrums. That is why they command such a disproportionate amount of attention. As symbols and metaphors, Dahmer, Bundy, and Gacy, occasion sweeping racial responses that would be unacceptable if they were directed at O.J. Simpson or an MS-13 gang. The ideal celebrity serial killer is not only a white male, but ordinary, outwardly polite, and well behaved. He is there to suggest that underneath western civilization, its manners and order, is an endless horror that we choose to be unaware of.
It is the same racist argument as the one put forward by Ibram X. Kendi, Ta-Nehisi Coates and countless critical race theory campaigners, but wrapped in the chewiness of true crime.
In the real world, few crimes are committed by career serial killers. Most are carried out by random street criminals. And these crimes are concentrated in diverse urban areas, away from the pleasant suburban streets where the media’s favorite serial killers, real or fictional, roam.
Those are the uncomfortable truths that true crime is designed to divert us from. Fictional mysteries set in quaint English villages where the killer is the elderly granny you least suspect are a magician’s sleight of hand diverting audiences from the acid attacks and stabbings, not to mention the grooming gangs, of London and Manchester. American true crime is just as determined to miss the forest for the trees, but it damningly uses the tree to create the illusion of a forest. A school shooter or a basement serial killer becomes a national obsession and a metaphor for the country’s real problems which always involve white evil, not crime statistics.
So far 2,865 people have been shot in Chicago this year. 559 of them are dead. These are the numbers you would expect from a war. In the face of such hard truths, racial escapism to a world where the thing to worry about is that the nice white boy next door is really a gay cannibal is a pleasant interlude. A little diversity among the ranks of serial killers would interrupt this fantasy. It would also raise difficult questions about the entire progressive program of blaming the nation’s varied ills on whiteness, white people and white men. Just call it the equity of evil.

Suspect arrested in apparent Stockton serial killings
A suspect was arrested Saturday in connection to the six unprovoked murders of men ages 21 to 54 over the last few months, the Stockton Police Department said.
The Stockton Police Department announced that Wesley Brownlee, 43, was booked on a homicide charge Saturday. Police said that surveillance teams followed Brownlee while he was driving, and stopped in area of Village Green Drive and Winslow Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

"Our surveillance team followed this person while he was driving. We watched his patterns and determined early this morning; he was on a mission to kill. He was out hunting," Chief Stanley McFadden said at a news conference Saturday.
McFadden added, "As officers made contact with him, he was wearing dark clothing and a mask around his neck. He was also armed with a firearm when he was taken into custody. We are sure we stopped another killing."
Brown will be arraigned Tuesday and more charges are likely, police said.
The San Joaquin County's Office of the Medical Examiner identified the victims. Paul Yaw, 35, was killed on July 8; Salvador Debudey Jr., 43, died on Aug. 11; Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez, 21, was killed on Aug. 30; Juan Cruz, 52, was the Sept. 21 victim; and Lawrence Lopez Sr., 54, was slain on Sept. 27.
The men who were alone at the time when they were fatally shot and all of the killings took place at night or in the early morning hours, police said.
Another shooting, of a 46-year-old Black woman at Park Street and Union Street in Stockton at 3:20 a.m. on April 16, 2021, was also linked to the investigation, police said earlier this month. The woman survived her injuries in that shooting, they said.
Police said that a motive is not known for the killings but it is believed to have been intentional.

If New Orleans were an outlier, it would be a shame; the fact that it’s not is a tragedy. Instead, New York, Chicago, Portland, LA, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and other American cities are part of the club. Crime has been up across America over the last two years, in most cases dramatically.
We’ve always had crime in America—such is the price of freedom—but what we are experiencing today is something altogether different. It’s not just crime. America can sometimes be a dangerous place. Everyone knows working the midnight shift at a convenience store is riskier than working the day shift at your local library, just as common sense tells you the odds of getting into a fight in a bar on a Saturday night are far higher than at church on Sunday morning.
And to be clear, this is not Antifa thugs and BLM cultists burning down cities. Protest, even violent protest, has been part of American history since its founding and is mainly event-driven, like Shay’s Rebellion, the Vietnam War protests, the riots after MLK’s assassination, or the acquittal of the police in the Rodney King video.

No, this is something different. It’s one thing to rage against the machine; it’s another to commit violence against citizens, particularly when they are unsuspecting innocents or compliant victims. This is today’s issue, which we see taking place across the county, from urban jungles like New York City to Midwestern communities like Salt Lake City.
What America’s experiencing today is exponentially worse than the typical crime that America is used to—and the truth is, young Black men and, increasingly, young Black women are perpetuating most, although far from all, of it.
Violence is not only going to a new level in terms of frequency but also its locales. It’s no longer limited to dark corners or deserted parking lots. It now occurs in the middle of the regular hustle and bustle of Americans’ daily lives. It’s taking place in broad daylight, in full view of video cameras—often with others videoing the carnage to share on social media. Violent crime occurs on Main Street USA, in schools, drugstores, fast food restaurants, subway platforms, high-end retail stores and, of course, homes.

Moreover, an element of violence seems unprecedented in its scale. Almost daily, we see random innocent people on subways or stairs or in restaurants getting shoved, kicked, or punched. We see fast food workers attacked as customers come over or around counters and spark mayhem. We see bus drivers attacked, shop owners beaten, and cops spat upon. Indeed we see countless instances where robbers beat or shoot victims even after taking whatever they were after. We also read daily of innocents of all ages killed in the crossfire while sleeping in their beds, standing in a bar, or sitting in their cars.

No doubt, there are countless contributing factors, from missing fathers to failing schools to social media, but those problems (at least the first two) have existed for quite some time. No, the reason for the sharp jump in violent crime and unhinged behavior on the part of large numbers of primarily young Black Americans is the Democrat proposition that everything bad that happens to Blacks results from racism. As such, Blacks are not responsible for their choices. Therefore, they should not be held accountable for their actions.
Ronald Reagan once said, “If you want more of something, subsidize it.” That is precisely what the Democrats have been doing with violent crime. While they are not yet directly paying criminals to attack their fellow citizens and rob local businesses, they are subsidizing crime nonetheless.
On the one hand, George Soros-backed Democrat prosecutors from coast to coast are demonstrating their pro-criminal empowerment bona fides by refusing to seek bail for most arrestees, refusing to prosecute countless misdemeanors, and simultaneously undercharging countless violent crimes as said misdemeanors. On the other hand, you have Democrats effectively decriminalizing an entire swath of crimes or eliminating bail for almost every offense.
Indeed, the lunatics running Illinois have just passed a law that eliminates bail for virtually every offense below 1st-degree murder and prohibits police from arresting or removing trespassers caught in the act while burglarizing a home or business. That means that, if someone breaks into your house in the middle of the night and you call the police, first, you’ll be lucky, given the Democrat “Defund the police movement” if police respond while the trespasser is still there and, second, police are literally no longer allowed to remove them from your home.
All of this is happening exactly when America’s cultural and political elites are telling young Black Americans that the system is rigged against them; that they’re incapable of succeeding when playing by the rules; that most white people hate them; and that, if they break the law, there are no consequences to be had. That is literally a recipe for societal collapse.
Today in Democrat-run America, only the criminals’ rights matter, never the victims…and the fact is that most of the victims of this American renaissance of violence are, in fact, Black Americans. That is, the new rules victimize the very people about whom Democrats pretend to care.
To accumulate power, Democrats have leveraged the fictions of “systemic racism” and millions of “White supremacists” running wild, and Americans of all races are paying the price. But this is exactly what happens when politicians pursue policies of balkanization and victimization, setting groups of Americans against one another to achieve power. The Democrats and their grifter partners thrive, while all of America’s citizens suffer.
America was founded on the principle that all men were created equal in the eyes of God and in the laws of man. While the execution of those truths has been imperfect from the beginning, it has consistently improved for over 200 years, bringing Americans freedom and prosperity unmatched in human history. Those benefits include black Americans, who make up fully 8% of American millionaires.
In just half a generation, Democrats have undone 200 years of progress and created a violent cage match between demographics in the public square. The result has been a body blow to civil society, mayhem in cities, and blood on the streets (most of it Black). Yet somehow, Black America continues to vote Democrat in Stalin-like numbers. Perhaps they should reconsider..

Some of the worst attacks came from rich, black celebrities who are expected to publicly whip one of their strays. Blinded by the limelight, by accolades from the “equity” industry, and by an extreme fear of being labeled as sellouts, these celebrities enslave themselves to a black metaverse that is completely detached from reality.
Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, with a net worth around $1.25 million, called it “hugely irresponsible,” and wrote, there was “no art here.”
“It didn’t land and it was deeply offensive, violent, and dangerous,” Karefa-Johnson tweeted.
Temple University professor Lamont Hill, net worth around $1 million, called West’s decision to wear the shirt “disgusting, dangerous, and irresponsible.”
Author Jemele Hill, net worth about $4 million, called West’s shirt-wearing a “dangerously dumb message to send for someone with his massive platform.”
Van Lathan, a producer and media personality with a net worth of about $1.5 million, tweeted that the slogan was a “white supremacist notion.”
“We don’t need a reminder of the worth of white lives,” Lathan wrote. “America is a shrine to the worth of white people. … The notion that it ALWAYS has to be about white people in America is incredibly frustrating, emotionally draining, and the whole problem.”
Writer Meecham Meriweather, with a net worth approaching $1 million, wrote that Kanye “doesn’t care about the black community,” something West blurted about George W. Bush after Hurricane Katrina.
Jaden Smith, Will’s son, net worth around $8 million, attended the show and walked out early, and later tweeted three words: “Black Lives Matter,” a tweet that rewarded him with tens of thousands of retweets and a quarter of million “likes,” among them Kendall Jenner.
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, net worth approaching $1 billion, expressed reluctance to address “everything in the world that’s going on,” but was compelled to post an Instagram video about West’s shirt to his 19 million followers.
“Right now, all America has planned for us is poverty, incarceration, and death,” he said. “So, before I could get to any other lives matter, which all lives matter … that black lives matter, don’t play with it. Don’t wear the shirt. Don’t buy the shirt. Don’t play with the shirt. It’s not a joke.”

Black crime is more random, more violent, and more vicious. There are more black fathers on TV commercials than in some neighborhoods. And somehow, morbid rap, twerking, and cop hatred has become ritualized as authentic black culture.
It’s not enough that these people choose to lie incessantly about the things we see right in front of our faces, but they use ridicule, ostracism, even violence to pressure others to lie, too.
“[People with influence] have people that around them at all times, telling them what to be afraid of,” West told Carlson. “I think I started to really feel this need to express myself on another level when Trump was running for office and I liked him. My so-called friends-slash-handlers around me told me if I said that I liked Trump that my career would be over, that my life would be over. They said stuff like, ‘People get killed for wearing a hat like that.’ They threatened my life. They basically said that I would be I killed for wearing the hat.”
West said he got a call the night before Tucker’s interview from someone who threatened that anyone wearing a White Lives Matter shirt would be “greenlit” – a prison term that refers to “shanking” a person in the shower so he bleeds out before guards even notice he’s missing.
West, worth $6.6 billion according to Bloomberg, has said a lot of dumb stuff over the years, but somewhere between Hurricanes Katrina and Ian, he’s become more sensible – more determined to say the obvious at a time when his critics are more determined to ignore it. It’s refreshing.
For this, if nothing else, West deserves great credit – although, in the grand scheme of things in America since 2020, the gesture was more “too little, too late” than “better late than never,” especially for people who’ve literally died because of this stuff.
And at a time when so many obvious things are being lied about – border security, defunding the police, climate change, COVID-19, vaccine injuries, “the most secure election in American history,” men have babies, zero inflation, and “abortion is a woman’s reproductive rights,” – we’re going to need a whole lot more than “just a black man stating the obvious” to un-ring these bells.
Corporate Safety in Cities: Some Get it, Some Don’t
Prior to the George Floyd incident, the thought of safety would rarely have occurred when executives visit a company as part of the vetting process for both sides. Clearly, the concern for safety has changed in many cities. My wife and I use to do date nights to Minneapolis Uptown area on a monthly basis, but the George Floyd riots changed this part of Minneapolis permanently. Buildings are still boarded up and many of the restaurants we frequented are no longer around. The primary reason we now stay clear of many parts of Minneapolis is that we don’t feel safe. Murder rates are at all-time historic highs and all other crimes are way up. Historic police exodus in Minneapolis and other cities impacted by racial justice unrest and Minneapolis identifying as a sanctuary city with a large influx of illegal immigrants, has only exasperated the problem of increased crime.
Looking at cities that are hot spots for crime (Chicago, New Orleans, and New York City), we questioned three financial services firms on whether they are concerned for the safety of financial advisors that visit their home office and whether they intend on relocating their home office due to high crime rates. These due-diligence visits consist of a dinner out with management and a day of meetings the next day. We asked a recruiter of a firm in New Orleans about their concerns. Their response was:
“There is no plan to change our home office location. Like other major cities across the country there are always challenges for safety and we take that very seriously. When scheduling HOV’s with prospective advisors, we book our advisors at 4–5-star hotels that are located in safe areas nearby our office as well as schedule private transportation between the airport & hotel, holding dinner at highly regarded restaurants.”
Midway through 2022, New Orleans leads the nation in murders. As much as this firm may try to protect visiting prospects, they can’t prevent candidates from wanting to venture out and explore the French Quarter after dinner, in which case, all safety assurances are off. This is problematic in many cities, requiring you to figure out where’s the decreasing number of safe places where you can let your guard down.
We asked the CEO of a Chicago firm the same questions and his response was,
“Our home office is located in the West Loop area of Chicago which is very vibrant, growing, hip and safe area of the city. We have had zero issues with crime or anything even close to it. Our home office employees enjoy coming to the office. So no, we have no intention of moving the home office. If anything, we are looking to expand here in downtown Chicago.”
Normalcy bias aside, according to Niche, the issues with crime in the West Loop year to date July 2022 are not zero but rather their statistics show this:

The CEO of McDonalds has recently sounded the alarm, saying, "The rising crime is hurting his ability to recruit quality executive candidates.” The number of safe 
neighborhoods is decreasing as high crime areas expand. The Magnificent Mile and the North side, which use to be safe places to shop at high-end stores or see a Cub game, have had their perception of safety ripped away with most all categories of crime increasing dramatically.
For New Yorkers, crime has had a prolonged upswing, but has amplified since the George Floyd riots with YTD July 2022 stats the following:

Grand Larceny +40.6%
Felonies +29%
In a discussion with a recruiter for a firm based in New York City, the conversation was frank and direct. He explained,
“If I were an advisor, I wouldn’t visit New York. It’s not safe! Rent/Lease prices are still crazy high and you don’t see anyone around so we have plans to move our office to another borough and then eventually go to Florida.”
Moving from New York City to Florida is a common trend for finance-related firms such as Goldman Sachs, Citadel, Arch Investments, and Blackstone that have made the move to Florida for less crime, better climate, lower taxes, and no draconian COVID regulations and mismanagement of those regulations.
What are your options regarding corporate visits and safety? During COVID, firms did virtual tours and Zoom calls as an alternative to in-person visits. The increased issue with flight delays and cancelations has further taken the shine off in person visits so doing a Zoom call with the departments that matter to you is a viable alternative. If you choose to do an in-person visit at a company that is located in a higher-crime city, avoiding venturing outside the safety of your hotel after dinner would be most prudent.
If you do venture out, take the advice that the Los Angeles Police Department is now giving residents in Los Angeles, which is to not wear high-end jewelry in public or expensive clothing that draws attention to you. Expensive watches can be especially risky to wear.
We’ve always been proponents of in-person visits because meeting people in person, seeing the facility, and eating a meal with management brings things to the surface you don’t get on a Zoom call. Unfortunately, as the ‘rule of law’ is increasingly suppressed in the name of equality, many cities are shifting from centers of commerce to centers of chaos. Because of this trend, you can’t assume safety as we once did in urban locations.

Police: Chicago Woman Accused of Dismembering Landlord with Butcher Knives
A Chicago woman is accused of murdering her landlord, whose body was found dismembered on Monday as crime continues plaguing the nation.
The remains were eventually found inside the home’s freezer, CWB Chicago reported Wednesday.
Thirty-six-year-old Sandra Kolalou is charged with first-degree murder, concealing a homicidal death, and misdemeanor aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after Chicago law enforcement said she “participated in the murder” of 69-year-old Frances Walker, the outlet stated.
Officers found the suspect once she left the elderly woman’s home, located on North Washtenaw, where she was in a hired tow truck.
The driver transported Kolalou to Foster Beach where the woman was accused of putting a large bag in a garbage can, according to WGN News.
Officers immediately went to the scene and put the suspect in custody for “pulling a knife on the tow truck driver,” according to CPD Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan:
Police said Walker rented rooms in the house and Kolalou was a tenant.
“Many of the tenants who lived in this house were afraid of this individual,” Deenihan said of Kolalou.
“The deceased, the person who owns the residence, had actually served the defendant with a notice to leave or eviction notice. And that was done very recently,” he added.
Tenants reportedly heard a scream at approximately 2:30 a.m. Monday and it was believed Walker was killed in her bedroom before Kolalou allegedly dismembered her. The suspect possibly used large butcher knives, per Deenihan.
“The other residents, increasingly concerned on Monday that something had happened to Walker, tried to reach her by phone. Deenihan said some residents received text message responses from Walker’s phone that Kolalou may have sent,” the CWB Chicago report stated.
Earlier this year, a woman in her 80s claimed Kolalou tackled her in the hallway of a condo building in Uptown. The woman did not show signs of being hurt and explained she was not familiar with the suspect.
“Police said the older woman refused to file felony charges, so they filed a charge of misdemeanor battery against Kolalou. She was found not guilty in July, according to court records,” the CWB Chicago article read.
Walker was apparently well known in her community, according to CBS Chicago anchor Audrina Bigos:
“The victim, Frances Walker played organ at several churches and played piano at a ballet school in Evanston,” she wrote in a social media post Thursday.
A recent survey found violent crime in cities across President Joe Biden’s (D) America rose by more than four percent during the first six months of this year, Breitbart News reported September 14.
“Compared to 2019 crime rates, some cities have seen a doubling in murders and a 36 percent increase in aggravated assaults,” the outlet said.
