WaPo Hides Donors’ Migration Money Motive in Anti-Trump Opposition

The Washington Post produced a three-byline, 2,150-word article on tech investors’ conflicts with former President Donald Trump but did not mention the overriding, all-important divide over migration.

The November 12 article is titled “Why Silicon Valley billionaires like Peter Thiel turned against Trump.”

However, the article does not mention voters’ rational support for Trump’s popular promise to curb what investors want — more wage-cutting, rent-spiking migration of foreign consumers, renters, and workers.

The article said:

Just two months before [the] Republican primary season kicks off in Iowa, [tech investor Peter] Thiel is one of several powerful Silicon Valley conservatives reevaluating their participation in politics. Tech heavyweights who helped ignite Trump’s candidacy have told close associates they feel alienated from the GOP and are casting about for a candidate who more closely aligns with their extreme pro-business agenda.

By excluding migration, the article suggests investors have broken with Trump over his claimed failure to reduce regulation. “‘Look at the major agencies. The FTC, the FDA. Did they have any less when Trump left office than when he started? The answer is no,’ said one of the advisers to major Silicon Valley donors.”

The failure to mention immigration “does seem like an absence, a gap, in the story,” said Mark Krikorian, the director of the Center for Immigration Studies.

He continued:

You would think a reporter would have asked because, if anything, Silicon Valley folks are, generally speaking, the boosters of immigration. If I were a reporter, one of the things that [I] would have asked is “How does the Republican Party’s stance on immigration have anything to do with your own changing attitudes?” Maybe they asked, but they got nothing worth reporting.

These days, there is much evidence that Silicon Valley investors strongly and rationally — from their self-serving perspective — oppose the GOP’s populist opposition to mass migration.

For example, the top-level FWD.us advocacy group for tech investors is loudly opposing Trump’s latest promises to curb illegal migration, according to three reporters at the New York Times:

“Americans should understand these [Trump] policy proposals are an authoritarian, often illegal, agenda that would rip apart nearly every aspect of American life — tanking the economy, violating the basic civil rights of millions of immigrants and native-born Americans alike,” Mr. [Todd] Schulte said.

Todd Schulte runs FWD.us — the very influential lobby group for billionaire investors founded by Mark Zuckerberg and many other Silicon Valley investors to push the failed “Gang of Eight” amnesty bill in 2013.

FWD.us lobbies because investors recognize that Wall Street’s stock values spike when the federal government skews the economy by importing more renters, consumers, and cheap workers, regardless of the pocketbook damage to ordinary Americans.

The breadth of investors who founded and still fund FWD.us was hidden from casual visitors to the group’s website, but copies exist at the other sites.

Other investors cite migration as a reason to walk away from the GOP’s populists.

“Let me say the quiet part out loud: Trump supporters need to move on from Trump. And from Trump-style politics,” said an April 2022 statement from Jeff Giesea, another tech investor who backed Trump in 2016. He wrote:

I look back on the Trump era with mostly negative emotions. On the one hand, the American political establishment needed a wake-up call to listen to voices it had forgotten. Trump succeeded as a sort of wrecking ball and court jester. He forced necessary conversations and electoral reconfigurations.

[But] Many of the issues and grievances that fueled Trump in 2016 remain. Immigration is a mess. The country still lacks basic sovereignty. Bold, forward-looking policies around healthcare, energy, and education remain to be seen. Middle Americans are still underserved and taken for granted by our government.

Billionaires are also abandoning Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who promoted himself as a competent governor who could bridge the GOP’s pro-migration donors and low-migration voters:

The right-wing venture capitalist David Sacks was a major DeSantis backer, hosting the launch of DeSantis’s presidential campaign on X, formerly Twitter, in the spring. But in recent months, Sacks has soured on DeSantis, according to two people familiar with his thinking, and has thrown fundraisers for rivals Vivek Ramaswamy and Robert F. Kennedy Jr, then running as a Democrat.

Many polls show that the party cannot accept the investors’ demands for more and more migration, no matter how much money the investors dangle in donations.

For example, immigration is the top issue for 26 percent of Republican voters, according to a poll by Reuters announced on November 7. The 26 percent score is four points above the 22 percent who said the closely related economic issue is the most important.

Swing voters also oppose migration. In October, for example, a majority of the Democrat-leaning Jewish community in New York agreed that migration is more of a burden than a benefit.

Curiously, the Washington Post’s do-not-mention-migration article mentioned Republican presidential candidate and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley just once — even though she is getting funds from Silicon Valley investors while promising them an immigration giveaway.

In September, Politico reported on Haley’s investor donors:

They include billionaire WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum, who has donated $5 million to a super PAC supporting her campaign, venture capitalist Tim Draper, who gave $1.1 million, and million-dollar donor Steven Stull, another venture capitalist, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

“We need to [think about immigration] based on merit. We need to go to our industries and say, ‘What do you need that you don’t have?'” Haley told supporters in New Hampshire on November 2. “So think agriculture, think tourism, think tech, we want the talent that’s going to make us better.”

Yet the Washington Post suggested that Haley is getting donations from investors because of her foreign policy record. It quoted Keith Rabois — a general partner at Thiel’s venture firm Founders Fund who backs Haley — saying, “DeSantis hasn’t demonstrated sophisticated expertise in foreign policy and the economy.”

The article cited investor support for Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy but declined to explain his pro-investor immigration and trade policies.

On the Democrat side, President Joe Biden and his deputies have lavished Silicon Valley investors with favors and giveaways since well before the 2020 election.

In October, Breitbart News reported more Biden giveaways to high-tech investors:

President Joe Biden told his deputies Monday to import more foreign graduates for the Fortune 500 white-collar careers needed by indebted U.S. graduates and their families.

The directive is described in a White House fact sheet outlining the directive, “Executive Order on Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence.”

Biden is “setting up another wave of indentured servitude workers,” responded Kevin Lynn, the founder of U.S. TechWorkers.

The visa programs include the infamous H-1B program, which grants roughly 200,000 three-year work permits each year to low-skill and mid-skill foreign graduates.

The programs “are used to bring in ordinary [mid-skilled foreign] workers to not only displace Americans but allow [CEOs and investors] to control these people during their entire tenure in the country,” Lynn said.  The CEOs and university presidents can control their indentured workers by dangling the hope of green cards and the threat of exile back home, he said.

There should be little surprise when reporters at establishment sites fail to follow the money in migration, said Krikorian. “It’s not so much because [Washington Post owner and high-tech investor] Jeff Bezos is telling them what to do — it’s because they’re in a newsroom where peer pressure would militate against that,” he said.

“In fact, they’re pre-selected [by hiring managers] to not even think about that question,” he added.

Many reporters for the New York Times post many excellent articles about the economic abuse and poverty of migrants, such as child labor and rising rents, but the top editors are pro-migration, so the newspaper does not connect the dots and describe the pocketbook damage of migration to ordinary Americans.

Ordinary Americans — especially black Americans — enjoyed a long and steady rise in prosperity after Congress curbed migration in 1925, but lobbyists persuaded Congress to reopen migration in 1965, double it in 1990, and largely open the border in 2021. The result has been a colossal transfer of wealth from ordinary Americans over to CEOs, investors, and Wall Street.

The government’s migration stimulus for Wall Street policy greatly reduces U.S. innovation, imposes chaotic diversity on American society, and extracts human resources from many poor countries.

Seamus Bruner’s ‘Controligarchs’ Reveals Bill Gates’ Hidden Agenda as He Buys Up U.S. Farmland

Billionaire Bill Gates is buying up farmland and investing in meat alternatives to control the public’s diet under the guise of saving the planet from climate change, Seamus Bruner argues in his new book Controligarchs: Exposing the Billionaire Class, their Secret Deals, and the Globalist Plot to Dominate Your Life.

Gates is one of the key figures in a group of billionaires who met at Rockefeller University in Manhattan in May of 2009 in the wake of Barack Obama’s presidential victory. Several other well-known names were there, including David Rockefeller, George Soros, Ted Turner, Michael Bloomberg, Warren Buffett, Oprah Winfrey, and the heads of major corporations like Cisco, Blackstone Group, and Tiger Management. Their goal was “to figure out how they can pool their resources to spend on priorities that are important to them,” Bruner explained in an interview with Breitbart News Daily.

At the time, the group focused on “overpopulation” as a primary concern, and it became a motivating factor for the “green” initiatives they championed to save the planet from “climate change.” Bruner’s Controligarchs argues that these elites desire power, profits, and control of the masses; but they pursue these goals under the guise of seemingly noble initiatives.

Gates, Controligarchs explains, is no different. The book details how Gates champions “climate change” by controlling the public’s diet, and his means of doing so involves buying up farmland and investing in alternate proteins.

Bruner writes, “The takeover of the food system, like so many other control schemes in this book, began with the Rockefellers and was advanced by Bill Gates. Like most of their monopolies — from oil to software and eventually biotechnology — the takeover of food is all about controlling the intellectual property of food production through trademarks, copyrights, and patents.”

Bruner highlights Gates’ interest in the successful agricultural innovations of the “Green Revolution,” which had its origins in research funded by the Rockefeller Foundation in the 194os that dramatically increased crop yields and reduced starvation. For Gates, the success of the Green Revolution was “simultaneous proof that problems like poverty and famine could be solved through human innovation and that the solutions, such as genetically modified pesticide-resistant crops, can present new problems like pollution, resource exhaustion and the consolidation of small-scale and family-owned farms into giant corporate-controlled farms,” Bruner writes.

“But rather than take responsibility for the new problems, the Rockefellers took all the credit for the crop abundance while blaming the new problems on the convenient scapegoat of climate change,” Bruner asserts, concluding that these “controligarchs” are now claiming that they can solve the “climate crisis” with “new patented miracle products that happen to make themselves even richer and, once again, at the expense of small-scale independent farmers.”

Concerning Gates’ interest in acquiring farmland, Bruner writes, “When Gates buys tens of thousands of acres, he is not just buying the land — he is also buying the rights to water below ground. In addition to farms (and the irrigation) and fertilizer, Gates has been hunting for sizable interests in water and water treatment — a crucial component when seeking to control the agricultural industry.”

Gates’ large acquisition of farmland is not just about “the diversification of his holdings,” Bruner told Breitbart News Daily. “He’s been investing in all of these alternative proteins and alternative fertilizers. And these companies hold the new patents, new monopolies over proteins and over food and over the fertilizers, and then he uses his influence to ban traditional forms of farming.”

Bruner’s book notes that while these “controligarchs” expect the “peasants” to “eat fermented fungi, lab-grown meats, and maggot milkshakes,” they themselves “have no intention of doing the same if recent behavior is any indicator.”

Gates and billionaire investor Warren Buffet, for example, “famously love eating beef burgers and steaks” when Gates visits Buffet’s home in Omaha.

Sanders: Dems Haven’t Been Clear They Side with Regular People Enough as Crime Rises, Have to Take on Greed

On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “AC360,” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) argued that Democrats have not done enough to demonstrate they’re on the side of the working class and “When the people on top are doing phenomenally well while 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, half a million people sleeping out on the streets, crime has gone up, we have got to make it clear that we are prepared to stand with the working class of this country and take on the corporate greed, which has been so very destructive, record-breaking profits for corporate America, CEOs, 350 times earnings of what their workers are making.”

Sanders said, “Let us ask ourselves, why it is that, after 50 years, the average worker today is earning less in real dollars than 50 years ago while the people on top are doing phenomenally well. That, to me, is kind of an important issue that maybe Congress should be discussing and media should be covering.”

Host Anderson Cooper then asked, “Do you think that issue is playing a big enough role in the public debate as we go into this election? — I mean are the Democrats making that front and center enough?”

Sanders answered, “No, we’re just not. Look, I have said over and over again in the Democratic caucus, on media, that, if the Democrats want to do well in 2024, they have got to make it clear which side they are on. When the people on top are doing phenomenally well while 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, half a million people sleeping out on the streets, crime has gone up, we have got to make it clear that we are prepared to stand with the working class of this country and take on the corporate greed, which has been so very destructive, record-breaking profits for corporate America, CEOs, 350 times earnings of what their workers are making. We have got to make it clear which side we’re on. If you’re asking me whether the Democrats have been as strong as they should be in doing that, the answer is no.”

Report: Democrats Want to Throw ‘Bidenomics’ into the ‘Dumpster’

Democrats would reportedly advise President Joe Biden to “heave” so-called “Bidenomics” into the “dumpster” after polling shows just 14 percent of voters say Biden has made them better off.

The reported unsolicited advice signals infighting among Democrats and the president’s uphill battle to convince voters he deserves reelection.

“Perhaps the most overwhelming economic messaging advice I picked up from Democrats was for him to heave ‘Bidenomics’ into the dumpster, “Politico’s Jonathan Martin wrote Monday after interviewing dozens of Democrats and never-Trump Republicans.

The White House defines Bidenomcs with three pillars intended to cure “longstanding challenges that held America back—including rising inequality and disinvestment from communities across the country”:

  • Making smart public investments in America
  • Empowering and educating workers to grow the middle class
  • Promoting competition to lower costs and help entrepreneurs and small businesses thrive

“Attempting to make voters believe something they don’t is folly. Attaching your name to that strategy borders on masochistic,” Martin wrote of Biden’s economic moniker. “At a time when people are paying more for housing, gas, and groceries, focusing on job growth and the unemployment rate is ineffective.”

A survey recently found that the president’s “Bidenomics” policies are not working for even a quarter of Americans, according to a poll by Financial Times-University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. The poll is the latest negative poll for the president:

  • 14 percent of voters say they are better off financially now than when Joe Biden took office
  • 70 percent of voters say Biden’s economic policies had either hurt the economy or had no impact,
  • Among the 70 percent, 33 percent said the president’s policies “hurt the economy a lot”

Loudoun County Voters Fire Soros Prosecutor Buta Biberaj, Elect Republican Bob Anderson

LEESBURG, VA – Voters in Loudoun County, Virginia, ousted Soros prosecutor Buta Biberaj, replacing her with Republican Bob Anderson as county attorney of the closely watched county.

George Soros has wreaked havoc nationwide by funneling enormous sums of his vast wealth into lower-profile public offices with an outsized impact on the direction of the nation. Almost 20 years ago he started his SOS Project, focusing on electing leftwing secretaries of state because they are chief elections officers of their respective states, resulting in major reinterpretations of elections laws. This accelerated a leftward shift in voting laws that would result in pushing ballot harvesting, automatic voter registration, same-day registration, forbidding voter ID and blocking other election integrity measures.

In the past few years, his network has shifted to county prosecutors, resulting in repeated outrages in leftwing enclaves like New York City (Alvin Bragg) and Los Angeles (George Gascon). They have also been a major focus in the Virginia counties surrounding Washington DC, like Arlington (Parisa Dehghanti-Tafti) and Fairfax (Steve Descano).

But all those jurisdictions are solidly blue. Just past Fairfax to the north and west is Loudoun County. More than a decade ago it was ruby red (as was Fairfax not many years prior to that), but now it is clearly purple – and gets outsized media attention, as it appears to be both a microcosm of the fight for Virginia but also a flashpoint for battling over parental rights and schools, especially on issues like Critical Race Theory and transgender issues involving sports and student safety.

Nowhere is this seen more clearly that in the top two law enforcement positions in the county. The sheriff is Mike Chapman, a 46-year law enforcement professional who is a conservative Republican, managing a department with over 800 officers. But the district attorney – called the “commonwealth attorney” in Virginia – is Biberaj, a leftwing fanatic with a list of crimes she refused to prosecute, who had received almost $1 million in campaign cash from Soros’s network.

The ties to the militantly ultra-left billionaire were so clear that Jason Miyares – Virginia’s dynamic Republican attorney general – challenged Soros to meet with the victims of crime in Virginia left unprotected by the prosecutors that Soros was installing. County prosecutor races are low-turnout and low-budget, so contributions that are the better part of a million dollars easily overwhelm those races.

Miyares

Jason Miyares with inset of George Soros

But it was not enough to save Biberaj from the wrath of voters in this D.C .exurb, even though Biberaj had a total of $1.1 million this year and her Republican challenger, Bob Anderson, had only $70,000. Despite a 15:1 cash advantage and all the benefits of incumbency, Anderson edged out the radical Biberaj, 68,068 to 67,768 – a margin of 300 votes.

Polling shows Republicans continue to hold massive advantages over Democrats on issues of law and order, border security, and public safety.

Democrat San Francisco Mayor London Breed’s effort to dupe foreign media into thinking the city isn’t a feces-strewn, crime-ridden, homeless encampment hellhole was exposed Sunday when a Czech film crew was robbed of its camera equipment.

The camera crew was also robbed of the footage it took, depriving it of the ability to portray San Francisco to their viewers back home as a visitors’ paradise.

Mayor Breed and fellow Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom had been boasting of how they had quickly cleaned up the city ahead of the arrival of international journalists, delegates and world leaders, such Communist China’s President Xi Jinping, for the APEC event.

“Municipal workers have been power-washing sidewalks, moving homeless people, and sprucing up buildings in its downtown core, all in hopes that visitors will see a positive side of the city,” Fortune reports.

But, that’s not reality for those who live and work in San Francisco – or even for local television crews, who have resorted to traveling with armed guards.

Unfortunately, the Czech film crew must not have been aware of the local custom, so they didn’t employ a security detail while visiting San Francisco.

Thus, the robbery of a foreign film crew appears to have pulled back the curtain, exposing the Potemkin Village that Breed and Newsom had created to deceive media from other countries.

"We don’t want anyone in our city to be a victim of any crime, whether they are a visitor or a resident," Mayor Breed’s Communications Director Jeff Creta declared, in a statement responding to the incident.

"Our police department is actively investigating this case, and we know that when an arrest is made, our district attorney has taken a strong position of aggressively prosecuting crimes like these," Creta promised.

Creta’s “like these” qualifier is important.

Ironically, there actually is a chance that, if caught, the thieves will be aggressively prosecuted – because the $18,000 value of the equipment and footage stolen exceeds San Francisco’s $950 threshold for legitimate prosecution.

As NBC Bay Area explains, shoplifting has surged since a 2021 law basically decriminalized retail theft:

“Under current state law, shoplifting merchandise valued under $950 is considered a misdemeanor and often not investigated.”

San Francisco Erects Barricades to Keep out the Homeless for Xi Jinping

Barricades and fencing have been erected in San Francisco as the city scrambles to clean up its homeless population ahead of President Joe Biden’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Photos and videos showing metal barricade structures outside of the Moscone Center, where leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) group are set to gather Wednesday, have garnered criticism on social media.

“San Francisco built a wall and made all the homeless people disappear for Xi,” End Wokeness, an account with more than 1.8 million followers, posted on X. “If only they cared about pleasing their own constituents as much as they care about pleasing a world dictator.”

Biden and Xi are to meet on the “sidelines” of the San Francisco summit on Wednesday, reports Fox News.

More images from the city’s streets show before-and-after photos in which homeless encampments were seemingly cleaned up right before the Chinese leader’s arrival.

“Xi has done more to clean up our filthy cities than any elected U.S. official,” former White House speechwriter Darren J. Beattie wrote on X.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) responded to the backlash at a press conference, saying “it’s true” that San Francisco has been cleaned up for all “those fancy leaders who are coming into town.”

“Because it’s true,” the progressive governor said. “But it’s also true, for months and months and months prior to APEC, we’ve been having different conversations.”

In October, Newsom became the first U.S. governor to visit China in more than four years, meeting with Xi and promising to be his “long-term, stable, and strong partner.”

The White House said in a Friday statement:

The Leaders will discuss issues in the U.S.-PRC [People’s Republic of China] bilateral relationship, the continued importance of maintaining open lines of communication, and a range of regional and global issues. Building on their last meeting in November 2022 in Bali, Indonesia, the Leaders will also discuss how the United States and the PRC can continue to responsibly manage competition and work together where our interests align, particularly on transnational challenges that affect the international community.

Democrat San Francisco Mayor London Breed claimed on X that APEC is “projected to bring over $50 million in economic impact to the City — this is support for our small businesses & restaurants, people staying in our hotels, and tax revenues that pay for things like our parks, libraries, services, and police officers throughout our city.”

Meanwhile, her city has been plagued with homelessness. A city government report revealed that San Francisco has 7,754 homeless people, with 887 individuals experiencing homelessness per 100,000 residents. This is far above the peer average of 578 per 100,000.

As Breitbart News covered in October, San Francisco made headlines for allowing a homeless sex offender to camp outside of a Catholic grade school, advertising “Free Fentanyl 4 New Users.”

SF Mayor Breed: Homeless Cleanup Not an Issue We’ve Been Sitting Around ‘Waiting to Solve’

San Francisco Mayor London Breed said Monday “Bloomberg Technology” that her city has constantly been cleaning streets and helping the homeless get shelter while discussing preparing for the APEC Summit of President Joe Biden and China’s Xi Jinping.

Host Ed Ludlow said, “Why has it taken the visit of U.S. President Biden, China’s President Xi, leaders around the world for action on all of the problems the city has been talking about for 4 years now?”

Breed said, “Just to be clear, we have been working on this for a few years. This is not an issue have been sitting around waiting to solve. It is something San Francisco continues to work on. Since I have been mayor, since 2018 we have helped over 10,000 people exit homelessness. We have never had 10,000 people on our streets. We have seen a reduction when other cities saw an increase. This is a problem we continuously worked on. This year, we got additional resources from the state and the federal government that has made a tremendous difference around the challenges that we are dealing with.”

Ludlow said, “A question from our audience that was submitted when they heard that your comment on the program is more people moved temporarily because of the event of this week from specific blocks and neighborhoods to others, or was this permanent action that was taken from what we see on the streets outside?”

Breed said, “It was an effort that took place as we had a court case where it limited our ability to move people off of the street. We still have a few hundred beds available. Our street outreach team is out there everyday. After we got clarity from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, people who were offered shelter are no longer in involuntarily homeless. We are  able to move them into housing and support. We have been aggressive once we had the clarity to get people off of the street. Our goal is to provide support to provide compassion and not let people linger on our streets when we have an opportunity for housing.”

Poll: Just 14% of Voters Say They’re Better Off with Joe Biden in Office

Less than 15 percent of voters believe they are better off with President Joe Biden as commander in chief, a Financial Times-University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business poll found Monday, increasing fears among Democrats that “Bidenomics” failed to deliver results.

  • 14 percent of voters say they are better off financially now than when Joe Biden took office, the poll found.
  • 70 percent of voters say Biden’s economic policies had either hurt the economy or had no impact.
  • Among the 70 percent, 33 percent said the president’s policies hurt the economy a lot.

The poll revealed inflation was voters’ greatest financial stress:

  • 82 percent of respondents said soaring price increases.
  • 75 percent said inflation was the most significant threat to the U.S. economy in the next six months.

Inflation caused a majority of voters to change their essential and non-essential spending, the poll also found:

  • 65 percent said they reduced non-essential spending, such as eating out and holiday purchases.
  • 52 percent said they reduced spending on food or other everyday necessities.
  • 52 percent said they know “a little” or “nothing” about “Bidenomics.”

“Every group — Democrats, Republicans and independents — list rising prices as by far the biggest economic threat . . . and the biggest source of financial stress,” Erik Gordon, a professor at Michigan’s Ross School, told the Times. “That is bad news for Biden, and the more so considering how little he can do to reverse the perception of prices before election day.”

The poll sampled 1,004 voters from November 2-7 with a 3.1 margin of error.

The poll comes after Democrats would reportedly advise Biden to “heave” so-called “Bidenomics” in the “dumpster,” Politico’s Jonathan Martin wrote Monday after interviewing dozens of Democrats and Never Trump Republicans.

“Attempting to make voters believe something they don’t is folly. Attaching your name to that strategy borders on masochistic,” Martin said of Biden’s economic policy term. “At a time when people are paying more for housing, gas and groceries, focusing on job growth and the unemployment rate is ineffective.”
