An anti-police Democrat party official in Minnesota wants tougher crime laws after being violently attacked during a carjacking in Minneapolis.

Shivanthi Sathanandan holds the position of second vice chairwoman for the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL), the New York Post reported Thursday.

She explained in a social media post on Wednesday what transpired during the incident:

“Four very young men, all carrying guns, beat me violently down to the ground in front of our kids. The young men held our neighbors up at gunpoint when they ran over and tried to help me,” she wrote, noting she suffered a broken leg, deep lacerations on her head, bruises, and cuts.

The men knew what they were doing, she continued, and there was no doubt in her mind they had done the same thing to other victims:

I’m now part of the statistics. I wasn’t silent when I fought these men to save my life and my babies, and I won’t be silent now. We need to get illegal guns off of our streets, catch these young people who are running wild creating chaos across our city and HOLD THEM IN CUSTODY AND PROSECUTE THEM.

PERIOD.

Look at my face. REMEMBER ME when you are thinking about supporting letting juveniles and young people out of custody to roam our streets instead of HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.

These criminals will not win. We need to take back our city. And this will not be the last you hear from me about this.

Sathanandan then thanked police officers and others for coming to help.

Law enforcement confirmed the carjacking that happened in the Folwell area but have yet to arrest any suspects in the case.

According to the Post, Sathanandan said in a social media post three years ago that she and fellow activists were “going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department” because it had failed citizens.

Her comments came after the death of George Floyd:

Social media users were quick to comment on Sathanadan’s most recent post, one person writing, “This is what happens when you dismantle a police department. Sorry you went through this.”

“You wanted a lawless city though,” another user replied, while someone else said, “Votes have consequences. Nice job!”

In June 2020, members of the Minneapolis City Council unanimously approved a pledge seeking to replace its police department with a “community-led public safety system,” Breitbart News reported at the time.

The outlet noted it was part of a campaign headed by Black Lives Matter activists and leftist Democrats to defund police after violent protests and riots erupted in the wake of Floyd’s death.

Nevada rapper Kenjuan McDaniel was arrested on a murder charge after La Vegas police alleged he “confessed to the murder in his (song) lyrics.”

The 25-year-old accused was taken into police custody August 29. He has been held on one charge of open murder with a deadly weapon, a news release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.

Bail was set Thursday at $1 million with electronic monitoring, according to court records.

The victim, identified by several outlets as Randall Wallace, 32, was found shot to death in an apartment complex in 2021. Police claimed the victim had been in an argument with three suspects who were unidentified at that point.

According to the arrest report obtained by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, McDaniel released the song, titled Fadee Free, which police alleged contains details about the killing not known by the general public, along with the music video on YouTube.
In the arrest report, police broke down lyrics from the song that apparently lined up the details of the homicide.

“Brought it with that fire, hear that ‘ah’, see your body twitching,” raps McDaniel, which according to the Review-Journal, matched up with Wallace twitching before he died, police alleged.

Another lyric, reported by 8 News Now, features McDaniel rapping: “Parked the car, doubled back on feet, the smartest way to slide,” which police also aligned with the killing.

In the song McDaniel also allegedly refers to a nickname which 8 News Now reported was Wallace’s, according to police.

McDaniel is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 14.

Brooklyn parking dispute leads to double shooting at Home Depot

Theodore Parisienne/New York Daily News/TNS

A dispute over a parking spot in the central Brooklyn Home Depot erupted in gunfire, leaving a woman shot in the head and her boyfriend badly wounded, according to witnesses and police.

The shooting took place in the parking lot of the hardware store’s Bedford-Stuyvesant location shortly after noon Saturday, according to the NYPD.

“The guy pulls on the side of them, he starts shooting at them,” Stacee Glenn, 40, said. Glenn said the male victim shouted, “I gave him the parking spot!”

The couple –– believed to be in their mid-20s –– raced out of the parking lot in their white Hyndai Sonata after the shooting, stopping several blocks away at the intersection of Nostrand and Myrtle Aves. to call for help.

The woman was slumped over and nonresponsive.

“He stopped and said ‘my girlfriend and I had been shot’,” Glenn said. “I guess he was trying to bring her to the hospital.”

Yadelyn Pena, 14, told the Daily News she was outside the Duane Reade on Nostrand and Myrtle when the car came to a stop.

“I guess he realized he was too late, so he jumped outside the car and called for help,” she said, adding that the man had wounds to his leg and his back.

“I was like, what’s the matter? What’s wrong? And he was like, ‘my girlfriend, look,’” Pena said.

“And I look in the car and there’s blood dripping from her head.” she added. “I saw her.”

“The guy in the parking lot – he wanted my parking spot,” Pena recalled the man saying. “I gave it to him and he started shooting at us!”

Three bullet holes could be seen in the Hyundai’s driver’s side door, which was facing the wrong direction on Nostrand Ave. Outside the front passenger door, a brown paper Home Depot bag lay stained with blood.

Pena said she dialed 911 immediately.

“The cops took like ten minutes to come. It looked like she was dead.”

“I saw her fingers moving,” the teenager added. “I’m hoping she’s okay.”

Pena’s mother, 38-year-old Anlly Burgos, said she tried to comfort the woman until help arrived.

“I held her hand telling her she was going to be okay,” she said. “Then the police came and they told everybody to back up.”

“She couldn’t talk,” Burgos said of the victim. “The only time she talked was to tell the police her name and then after that she was dead silent.”

The frantic boyfriend feared the worst.

“Her boyfriend was really really distressed. Sad. Calling for help,” she added. “He was saying, ‘I got shot in my back and my leg but just make sure she’s okay.'”

Cops said both victims were transported to nearby Kings County Hospital, where the woman was listed in critical condition.

TRUMPER HUMPER GRIFTER AND SLUM LORD JARED KUSHNER AND HIS SAUDIS PAYMASTERS - Jared Kushner's Post-White House $2 Billion Saudi Investment Sparked Ethical Debate and Saudi Skepticism Due to 'Inexperience' and 'Public Relations Risks'

Jared Kushner's Post-White House $2 Billion Saudi Investment Sparked Ethical Debate and Saudi Skepticism Due to 'Inexperience' and 'Public Relations Risks'

 The two leaders
 pledged cooperation

Just months after leaving the White House in 2021, Jared Kushner secured a $2 billion investment from a Saudi crown prince-led fund, despite objections from the fund’s advisers about the deal.

A panel that screens investments for the Saudi sovereign wealth fund expressed concerns about Kushner’s new private equity firm, Affinity Partners. According to The New York Times, they cited issues like the firm’s inexperience, the possibility of the kingdom bearing most of the investment risk, unsatisfactory due diligence on the firm’s operations, an excessive asset management fee, and public relations risks due to Kushner’s previous role as a senior adviser to President Trump.

Don't Miss:

However, the full board of the $620 billion Public Investment Fund, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, overruled the panel. This deal raised ethical concerns, as it could be seen as kickback for Kushner’s actions in the White House or an attempt to gain favor as Trump seeks another presidential term in 2024.

Kushner’s close ties to the Saudi crown prince, including his defense of him after the Khashoggi murder, have also drawn attention. Interestingly, the Saudi fund invested twice as much with Kushner compared to former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, even though Mnuchin had a successful investment record before entering government.

In response, a spokesperson for Kushner’s firm highlighted their careful screening criteria for investors, while the Saudi fund declined to comment on its investment process. The deal’s documents reveal that Kushner’s venture heavily relies on Saudi money.

Kushner initially aimed to raise up to $7 billion, primarily from Saudi Arabia, but has secured few other major investors. As of the most recent filing, his firm reported $2.5 billion under management, primarily from overseas investors.

Both Kushner and Mnuchin offered the Saudi fund discounts on asset management fees and a share of fund profits. However, the Saudis agreed to pay a lower fee to Mnuchin’s firm.

The debate within the Saudi fund over investing in Kushner’s firm was in clear contrast to the easy approval of Mnuchin’s proposal. Mnuchin’s fund focused on cybersecurity, financial technology, and entertainment, aligning with Saudi priorities, while Kushner’s firm lacked a clear focus.

Kushner’s lack of private equity experience and unsatisfactory due diligence findings were acknowledged but attributed to the firm’s early stages. The Saudi fund stipulated conditions for Kushner’s firm to draw down the investment.

Despite objections from some panel members, the board ultimately approved the deal, citing the aim of forming a strategic relationship with Affinity Partners and Jared Kushner.

This week it was announced that Affinity Partners is making its first investment in Israel by acquiring a $150 million minority stake in an Israeli car company. In this transaction, Affinity will purchase a 15% stake in the car and credit division of S Shlomo Holdings Ltd, a closely held Israeli company. The investment was disclosed in a filing on September 6th.

The investment raises questions about the strategic direction of Affinity Partners and its growing international portfolio.

Kushner’s Saudi-Backed Affinity to Acquire Stake in Israeli Firm

(Bloomberg) -- Jared Kushner’s Affinity Partners is acquiring a $150 million minority stake in an Israeli car company, marking the first investment in Israel for the Miami-based private equity firm that is backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund.

Affinity will buy a 15% stake in the closely held S Shlomo Holdings Ltd’s car and credit division, it said in a filing on Wednesday.

The investment comes as the Biden administration seeks to broker a deal that would see Saudi Arabia establish diplomatic ties with Israel. The two countries have no official relations and direct investment by the kingdom in Israeli-linked companies is rare, though some of their businesses have covertly worked together through intermediaries for years.

Affinity did not seek approval for the deal from any of its limited partners, including the Saudi Public Investment Fund controlled by the country’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified because they were not authorized to discuss the terms.

Affinity declined to comment, while a spokesperson for PIF did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Under the agreement, a new subsidiary will be created consolidating Shlomo Holdings’ car rentals, sales, and credit business, with an equity valuation of $1 billion, according to the filing. Affinity will appoint a director and an observer to the unit’s board of directors.

Separately, Affinity is in talks with Israel-based financial firm Phoenix Holdings Ltd to acquire a stake, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. The talks, first reported by Calcalist, come after a consortium of Abu Dhabi funds called off a planned deal to buy a controlling stake in the firm.

A Phoenix spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Kushner is the son-in-law to former President Donald Trump and served as a senior White House adviser. He has raised over $3 billion for his firm, primarily from PIF. The private equity fund plans to invest millions in Israeli tech startups, the Wall Street Journal reported last year.

The Biden administration is pushing for a deal that would establish friendly relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia for the first time. Any agreement would likely include security guarantees from Washington and concessions on the Palestinians.
