MEXIFORNIA IN METLDOWN: First, illegal immigration is the problem. CA has spent hundreds of billions on illegal aliens and their bills — public schools, free meals at school, special bi-lingual teachers, healthcare, housing allowances, low income energy assistance, aid to families with dependent children, prisons, cops, courts, public defenders, welfare, food stamps, and a hundred other gov handouts. And don’t forget lower college tuition for illegal immigrants. WAYNE ALLYN ROOT
(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) released a statement today saying that the Trump Administration’s decision to stop federal research that uses aborted baby parts—often by implanting bits of their organs in mice--is “a grave step backwards for America.”
She specifically reacted to the administration’s “cancelling a multi-million-dollar fetal tissue research initiative into HIV treatment at UCSF.”
As reported by CNSNews.com, the National Institutes of Health’s multi-million-dollar contract with UCSF required UCSF to make “humanized mice” with thymuses and livers taken from aborted babies.
The policy announced by the Department of Health and Human Services yesterday ended that contract by not extending it past its June 5 expiration date, stopped “intramural” research with fetal tissue by researchers working for the National Institutes of Health, and said that NIH funded researchers at universities and other places outside NIH would have their projects reviewed by an ethics panel before federally funding for them was renewed or initiated.
Pelosi Statement on Trump Administration’s New Major Restrictions on Life-saving Research Using Fetal Tissue
June 6, 2019
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after the Trump Administration discontinued all fetal tissue research conducted within NIH and placed significant new hurdles to the use of fetal tissue in federally-funded university research for new research projects, also cancelling a multi-million-dollar fetal tissue research initiative into HIV treatment at UCSF:
“The Trump Administration’s action is a grave step backward for America, and a heartbreaking blow to the millions who could benefit from this life-saving research. This Administration is the most anti-science Administration in modern history, and is now forcing people with HIV/AIDS and countless others with deadly diseases to suffer because of its extremist policies.
“Federally-funded medical researchers have used fetal tissue in research for decades and decades, under both Republican and Democratic Administrations, and fetal tissue research has saved millions of lives and reduced suffering by resulting in transformational medical breakthroughs such as the development of vaccines against polio, rubella, dengue fever, measles and chickenpox and the development of new treatments for debilitating diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, cystic fibrosis, and hemophilia. This research is necessary to discover life-saving preventions and treatments for some of the deadliest diseases, from Alzheimer’s to Zika, and has been subject to strong and strict ethical guidelines for decades.
“This is a sad day for science, for our future and for America.”
Pelosi: If We Close the Door to Immigrants We Won’t Be the Country that Leads the World
Thursday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) argued Americans place as leader of the world was dependent on immigration.
Pelosi said, “We always have to be optimistic and positive because what they did was so monumental and enables us to have are our debates and differences of opinion. But we do have to remember the values that freedom isn’t free. So, and part of that freedom is who we are as Americans. And who we are as Americans no one said it better than Ronald Reagan; Ronald Reagan had the biggest voice for welcoming people to our country and that we cannot close the door or else we won’t be the country that leads the world.”
