President Joe Biden stated Sunday that corporations and the wealthy are finally paying “their fair share,” while he and his family are being investigated for money laundering, wire fraud, and tax evasion by House Republicans and his son is under federal investigation for tax crimes.

“Look, I’m a capitalist. But the wealthiest and biggest corporations need to pay their fair share,” Biden stated on Twitter.

Biden then celebrated the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act into law, which sets a 15 percent minimum corporate tax rate. The law also provides funding for 87,000 new IRS agents.

“Thankfully now, because of the law I signed, billion-dollar companies have to pay a minimum 15 percent in taxes,” Biden said.

Biden’s comment comes as House Republicans have begun investigating the Biden family for nine potential violations, including money laundering, wire fraud, and tax evasion.

In addition, the Justice Department is investigating Hunter for tax and gun violations. The probe, which has been ongoing for years and debated for months among Justice Department officials, also centers on the Biden family’s foreign business schemes while Joe Biden was vice president.

“I want to be clear, this is an investigation of Joe Biden,” House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY) stated in November. “The Biden family’s business dealings implicate a wide range of criminality from human trafficking to potential violations of the constitution.”

“In the 218th Congress, this committee will evaluate the status of Joe Biden’s relationship with his family’s foreign partners and whether he is a president who is compromised or swayed by foreign dollars or influence,” he said.

Comer’s investigations are being attacked with stonewalling tactics from Hunter and the U.S. Treasury. On Thursday, Hunter refused to provide relevant documents to the committee, citing no “legitimate legislative and oversight basis.” Comer responded with hints of compelling testimony by subpoena.

In January, the Treasury Department denied the committee’s request to disclose 150 suspicious reports flagged by U.S. banks concerning Biden family business transactions, causing the committee’s chairman to threaten a subpoena.

“It’s no surprise that Hunter Biden is trying to stonewall Congress’ oversight and hide information about Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s suspicious business practices,” the committee’s communications director, Jessica Collins, told Breitbart News.

“The American people demand transparency and oversight, not political coverups,” she noted. “The Oversight Committee will continue its oversight and use all tools at its disposal to gather information critical to our investigation and to inform legislative solutions.”

Biden's Right: His Word Means Nothing

Installed (p)Resident Joe Biden loves to make promises secured by the supposed worth of his family name.  "I give you my word as a Biden," he said back in March of 2020, "When I'm president, I will lead with science, listen to the experts and heed their advice, and always tell you the truth."  Again giving his solemn word before the 2020 mail-in ballot presidential selection, he promised both "to turn division into unity and bring us together," as well as to "be an ally of the light, not the darkness."  Just over a week ago, he declared, "My word as a Biden: I've never been more optimistic about America's future than I am today."  My goodness, if only Biden's family name possessed more value than that of Benedict Arnold's, we would be blessed with a man in the White House committed to truth, unity, spiritual guidance, and American success.  Yet Biden's name is synonymous with none of those things, is it?

Instead, the Biden family name has really stood for only two things: buffoonery and corruption.  For fifty years, Joe Biden has managed to hold onto some slice of power in D.C. as a senator, vice president, and Oval Office stooge not because he is renowned for his erudition or virtue but rather because his doltish behavior and venal character make him ideal for others to control.  Perhaps no other Washington relic has accomplished so little for the American people over such a prolonged government career or managed to harness those defects for lucrative advancement more successfully than China Joe

He is known as a serial liar, a "public servant" who has somehow managed to accrue tremendous wealth, a race-baiting opportunist, a Catholic-in-name-only, and a bought-and-paid-for politician in bed with criminal cartels and foreign foes.  In another era, Joe Biden would have been run out of his country much the same way Benedict Arnold was two and a half centuries ago; in an era when integrity, honor, fortitude, fidelity, and grit have been jettisoned for immorality, unscrupulousness, weakness, betrayal, and craven pliability, however, he is elevated to king sleazeball in a city drowning in sleaze.

Perhaps when America's Scumbucket-in-Chief gives his "word as a Biden," he is depending upon the solid reputations of notable relatives.  Alas, no.  His brother James has been repeatedly implicated in allegations of fraud and quid-pro-quo financial schemes leveraging Joe's political office as a means to advance the Biden family's interests and wealth.  His daughter Ashley struggles with sex and drug addictions, problems she has attributed in part to her memories of taking showers with her dad at a young age (no wonder Creepy Joe excuses pedophilia and transgender madness so effortlessly).  And then there is the "smartest guy" Joe claims to know — his son Hunter — whose illegal drug usesexual debauchery with prostitutesemployees, and relatives alike; gun crimes; occupation as an undeclared foreign agent; and serially-excused role as the family's point man for turning the powers of Joe's political office into seedy profit are all well known to the American people (even if habitually ignored by the corrupt Department of [in]Justice).  In any other family concerned about its reputation for probity and honor, Hunter Biden would have been cast off as some sort of uncontrollable "black sheep."  In the Biden herd, though, Hunter blends right in with his unseemly, scuzzy kin.  The Biden pedigree is made from rotten stuff — more like a pustule than a bloodline and filled with dreck, mediocrity, selfishness, pusillanimity, and unrepentant sin.

When you stop to consider how shockingly meaningless Joe's "word as a Biden" schtick really is, it actually becomes tempting to consider whether the old, fatuous fraud is ironically — and just this once — telling the American people the truth!  Perhaps when he says, "I give you my word as a Biden," he is really saying: "I give you my word as an incestuous pervert who cannot learn to keep my hands off little girls or keep from sniffing and grabbing women against their will; as a shameless liar who distorts everything, including the circumstances of my own wife and daughter's tragic deaths, when those lies induce public sympathy or are otherwise advantageous; as a plagiarist with no original thoughts or accomplishments of my own; as a lifelong racist who has had many friendships with segregationists and race hustlers while lying about having been active in the civil rights movement; as a corrupt politician who has ties to the mob and whose family has profited generously from my public office; and as a traitor to the United States who has repeatedly sold out my country for the benefit of foreign interests in Ukraine, China, and anywhere else I can make a buck."

I guess when you see how long it would take to vomit forth that mouthful of insidious nastiness, using the shorthand, "I give you my word as a Biden," just means that whatever is said next is almost certainly untrue.

Seen from that perspective, Biden's time as installed president makes a lot more sense.  When he promised to unite the country by ridding it of petty divisions, what he really meant was that he planned to exacerbate racial animosities to the best of his abilities, rub salt in old wounds to ensure intolerance festers and anguish lingers, and incite hatred among groups of Americans who would otherwise get along.  When he promised to "bring us together," he meant that he would promote propaganda reframing the J6 protest for fair elections as an "insurrection" seeking to topple the government and use that laughably fraudulent pretense as an excuse to persecute and imprison his political enemies.  When he promised to be "an ally of the light, not the darkness," he meant that he would threaten concerned parents with criminal prosecution should they resist the government's program of sexualizing childhood, encouraging bodily mutilation, brainwashing innocents with "transgender" delusions, and promoting abortion-on-demand.

When he promised to "lead with science," he meant that he would use the unscrutinized declarations of unelected government health bureaucrats with secret political agendas as a sword and shield for imposing a dictatorship of unconstitutional mandates, censorship, ephemeral freedoms, and unjust orders contrary to established law.  When he promised to "listen to the experts and heed their advice," he meant that he would further empower an already-out-of-control Deep State to police Americans' thoughts and words for alleged "misinformation" and "hate"; expand the national security surveillance State to spy on Americans' every move; and target for criminal punishment those who nonetheless insist on engaging in "wrongthink."  When he promised to "always tell you the truth," he meant that his administration would construct "politically correct" falsehoods, propagate those falsehoods through a willingly compliant and compromised State-aligned news media, vilify dissent as harmful "disinformation," and characterize contrary viewpoints as mere "conspiracy theories."

Finally, when Biden recently claimed that he has "never been more optimistic about America's future," what he meant is that he has given China permission to send spy balloons loaded with explosives across the continent; criminal cartels permission to flood America with illegal aliens; the pharmaceutical companies permission to reap windfall profits from harmful, untested, yet government-mandated products; the World Health Organization and United Nations permission to usurp U.S. sovereignty; the Federal Reserve permission to print money on our way to economic Armageddon; and the World Economic Forum permission to usher in a "great reset" of centralized control and loss of individual liberty.  Surely all that carnage is worth a relatively small finder's fee of 10%.

When Commie Joe's statements are viewed in their proper context, he is just a presidential truth-teller.  Really.  After all, he gives us his word as a Biden!

At Burisma, Hunter Biden traded on the family name to help a Serbian who wanted to run the United Nations

Apparently there was no bottom to what Hunter Biden would do to make his buddies at Burisma happy.

One of them wanted to run the United Nations

That brings us to Chuck Ross's latest Washington Free Beacon report about Biden Junior's bid to help a Serbian associate make his dreams of becoming the United Nations secretary-general come true.

He writes:

Hunter Biden enlisted then-vice president Joe Biden's national security adviser to help with a Serbian business partner’s campaign to become secretary general of the United Nations, a scheme that is now drawing scrutiny from the House Oversight Committee as it attempts to piece together Hunter Biden's web of foreign business dealings.

Hunter Biden arranged a meeting in July 2016 for Vuk Jeremic and Colin Kahl, a Pentagon official who served as then-vice president Joe Biden’s national security adviser, emails from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop show. Jeremic, an energy executive and former Serbian foreign affairs minister, was at the time looking for American support in an upcoming vote for secretary general. Jeremic recounted that Kahl, who is now undersecretary of defense for policy and an amateur DJ, "promised" to find out more about the election.

While Jeremic’s bid for the top United Nations post was unsuccessful, his ties to Hunter Biden could shed light on the troubled presidential son’s foreign business dealings. Rep. James Comer (R., Ky.) inquired about the link in a letter to Biden on Friday as part of their sprawling probe into the Biden family’s activities in Ukraine, China, and elsewhere.

Hunter's Burisma ties to this influence-peddling operation came about in 2014 because Jeremic had a directorship at Mexico's PEMEX state oil company and Hunter on the board of Burisma in was "involved in discussions" for a partnership between the two companies. The revelations were revealed on Hunter's abandoned laptop.

One can only imagine how that conversation must have come about amid the dealmaking -- can you throw in a good word for me for your dad for me to run the United Nations as part of this partnership so we can sign the deal on the dotted line?

Obviously, Hunter was asked for a favor, and sure enough, Hunter did the favor.

Who Hunter got the Serbian the appointment with is worth looking at, too, one Colin Kahl, who served as Joe Biden's "national security advisor" during his vice presidency and who has since been implicated in a slew of dirty tricks during the Trump administration. Now that he's ensconced in power as the Defense Department's undersecretary for policy as part of the Biden administration, he's been involved in some mind-blowing incompetence as the number three guy at the Pentagon.

A couple examples of it, the first of which I summed up earlier:

His appointment to the number-three spot in the Pentagon, responsible for military-civilian affairs, last year was approved in Congress with zero Republican votes.

He not only was rejected by the GOP House members because of his foul-tempered tweets, but had been the architect of the God-awful Obama-era Iran deal, which empowered the mullahs of Iran to pursue their nuclear weapons and made them cash-rich and happy.  Like Joe Biden, whom he was "advising," Kahl had a horrible history of calling every foreign policy shot wrong, and he surpassed his record for that as he settled into his defense job.  Kahl became the policy author of the Afghanistan pullout.  He was the one who failed to plan for evacuating Americans (detailed here), leaving 9,000 Americans behind; he was the clod who ignored intelligence warnings of a mass casualty attack on one of the gates to Kabul Airport, which left 13 service members dead; and he may have been the bright bulb who decided to pull civilians out only after the military had departed the country.

The Washington Free Beacon details his incompetence here.

More recently, there was this from the Washington Examiner's Tom Rogan, dated Thursday:

In an interview with Defense News this week, Kahl offered extraordinary overconfidence that China will not attempt an invasion of Taiwan within the next two years and likely far further into the future. This bears note because U.S. military and intelligence officials increasingly do believe that Xi is likely to order an invasion before this decade is out, possibly before 2027. Their assessment is vested in intelligence reporting and comprehensive political and military analysis.

Kahl, however, is unconcerned.

"I don't see anything that indicates that [an invasion] is imminent in the next couple of years," Kahl said. Identifying China's investment in capabilities and strategies designed to counter the U.S. military within the waters west of Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines, Kahl added, "I see nothing that indicates Xi Jinping believes his military is ready to do this. Nothing."

Nothing? That's a very bold statement for someone who holds an office that must wager against unknowns. But Kahl was just getting started. Describing Beijing's calculations, Kahl observed, "I think that they understand well that the United States continues to have pretty significant overmatch in a lot of critical domains."

So Hunter's go-to guy for guys who wanted political favors, such as U.S. support for the United Nations secretary-generalship, was Colin Kahl, dirty-trickster extraordinaire, and a guy whose global-scale failures of U.S. foreign policy, ranging from the Iran deal, to the Afghanistan pullout, to the current China fiasco, are never good enough to get him fired.

Maybe this congressional investigation ought to do it though we won't hold our breath. As I argued in my piece earlier, wondering why the heck this guy still had a job:

The only thing we do know is that Biden isn't keeping this clown on staff for his talents.  He obviously has some other purpose.

Obviously, Kahl may know a lot of secrets about how the Bidens operate, ensuring that his job will always be secure. That may be a good deal for him  but it's a horrible deal for the country, far more horrid than Hunter's bid to make a Serbian oil buddy the chief of the United Nations.

One thing is sure now: Hunter's influence-peddling extended in many directions and it's not just Biden who may be implicated. "The big guy" seems to have had a lot of minions.

NAFTA JOE BIDEN - FUK LEGALS! - WE NEED MILLIONS OF 'CHEAP' LABOR ILLEGALS WHO WILL VOTE DEM FOR MORE! - Gallup Poll: Voters’ Demand for Less Migration Doubles

Similarly, Americans overwhelmingly dismiss corporate demands for more legal and illegal immigrant workers, even at the threatened cost of higher inflation. By a factor of more than two to one, Americans agree companies “should raise wages and try harder to recruit Americans even if it causes the prices of their products to rise,” said a July 20-22 poll by YouGov.com.

Public demand for less immigration has doubled under President Joe Biden’s welcome for roughly 6 million economic migrants, according to a Gallup survey.

Forty percent of Americans want less migration, up from 19 percent in January 2021, said the poll, released February 13. The 40 percent includes 71 percent of Republicans, 36 percent of independents, and 19 percent of Democrats, according to the poll, which did not describe the scale of Biden’s migration.

“Republicans’ displeasure with immigration for being too high is now the highest Gallup has recorded for that party,” said a Gallup statement.

The Republican consensus for lower migration likely will block efforts by establishment-backed GOP legislators to further expand labor migration, despite much media and Democratic celebration for migration.

Biden’s policy of raising migration levels is backed by just 4 percent of Republicans, 7 percent of independents, and 12 percent of Democrats, according to the poll.

The poll also shows pick-up opportunities for the GOP: Fourteen percent of independents and 19 percent of Democrats said they are “dissatisfied” with Biden’s policies without saying if they wanted migration levels to be raised or lowered.

But few Republican politicians are offering a reform agenda that would help Americans raise wages and get better housing. Instead, GOP donors pressure GOP politicians to ignore pocketbook issues and to focus on border chaos, crime, and drugs.

“We talk about [immigration] as a law and order problem but I want to plant the seed both for our colleagues on my side of the aisle and colleagues elsewhere and also for those of you who are interested in this issue,” Vance said, adding:

I’m a very strong believer that we should think about our immigration problem and our immigration crisis as an economic problem as much as a cultural or law and order problem.  Immigration in this country right now, illegal immigration … means wage theft in the form of competition for jobs for lower-wage migrants and in this instance, in the context of housing, illegal immigration means theft of the American dream of housing when you have 25 million people who shouldn’t be here by law competing with American citizens to buy their first home, to rent a home. That is a major problem that we should be talking more about in the context of the immigration crisis.

The Gallup poll echoes prior surveys of growing public opposition — and the increasing rejection of the 1950s “Nation of Immigrants” narrative.

Forty-one percent of Americans want migration reduced, said a May 6-9 poll of 1,,025 adults by Politico and Harvard University’s medical school.

But those numbers likely understate potential opposition to labor migration amid the establishment-wide media cheerleading for the importation of more workers, renters, and consumers. Since January 2021, Biden and his deputies have quietly accepted roughly 6 million economic migrants.

For example, a December 2022 survey by Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll showed that the public grossly underestimated Biden’s migration inflow. The survey also asked:

Over 2.75 million came into the United States illegally over a twelve-month period ending September 2022, more than 1 million more immigrants the previous 12 month period. Given these numbers, should the administration continue its current policies or issue new, stricter policies to reduce the flow of people coming across the border?

In response, 81 percent of Republicans and 68 percent of swing-voting independents called for stricter policies. Just one-third of all voters were content with current lax border policies once they learned the real numbers, according to the poll.

When pollsters provide some justifications, Americans also are more willing to declare their opposition to migration. For example, a December 2022 Harvard-Harris poll showed that 76 percent of swing-voting independents want the Title 42 border barrier to be preserved, along with 80 percent of Republicans and 79 percent of Democrats. Sixty-seven percent of Hispanics and 77 percent of blacks want the barrier preserved.

Only 28 percent of registered voters believe immigration has been positive for their local economy, and only 38 percent say immigration is good for the United States, according to an August 12-15 survey of 2,025 registered voters conducted for a pro-migration advocacy group.

Thirty-five percent of the respondents in an August 2022 poll by YouGov said immigration makes the United States “worse off. Thirty-one percent said immigration makes the U.S. “Better off,” according to the July 23-26 poll of 1,500 citizens.

Latino voters show little interest in immigration expansion amid rising inflation and crimes, according to a July-August survey of 2,540 registered Latino voters by two pro-migration advocacy groups. “Immigration reforms” were ranked by Latino voters as the twelfth most important issue after inflation, crime, the economy, healthcare, abortion, rent, and schools, according to the survey

Just 26 percent of people “strongly” endorse the 1950s “Nation of Immigrants” narrative, down from 40 percent in 2018, said an August 2022 poll by Ipsos.

A majority of Americans say Biden is allowing a southern border invasion, according to a July 2022 poll commissioned by the left-of-center, taxpayer-supported National Public Radio (NPR). The 54 percent “Invasion” majority includes 76 percent of Republicans, 46 percent of independents, and even 40 percent of Democrats. Just 19 percent of all respondents — or one in five — said the term is false.

Joel Rose, a pro-migration NPR journalist, lamented the mainstream 3:1 public judgment revealed by the survey of 1,116 adults, saying:

Republican leaders are increasingly framing the situation as an “invasion.” Immigrant advocates say the word has a long history in white nationalist circles, and warn that such extreme rhetoric could provoke more violence against immigrants. Still, the polling shows that the word “invasion” has been embraced by a wide range of Americans to describe what’s happening at the border

Democrats are using their media power to portray the public’s growing concern about the huge scale and civic impact of Biden’s migration as “white nationalism.”

The federal government has long operated an unpopular economic policy of Extraction Migration. This colonialism-like policy extracts vast amounts of human resources from needy countries and uses the imported workers, renters, and consumers to grow Wall Street and the economy.

The migrant inflow has successfully forced down Americans’ wages and also boosted rents and housing prices.

The inflow has also pushed many native-born Americans out of careers in a wide variety of business sectors and contributed to the rising death rate of poor Americans. The population inflow also reduces the political clout of native-born Americans, because it allows elites to divorce themselves from the needs and interests of ordinary Americans.

Major Sheriff’s Associations Call for ‘Eradication’ of Mexican Drug Cartels

The largest sheriff’s associations in the country called for the eradication of Mexican drug cartels and for the public to pressure their elected officials to do something about it. The groups called for action to start against the two most powerful criminal organizations in Mexico. The call for action by the sheriffs comes follows 21 state attorneys general called for cartels to be designated as terrorist organizations.

In a joint statement from the National Sheriff’s Association, Major County Sheriffs of America, Western States Sheriffs’ Association, Southwestern Border Sheriffs’ Coalition, and Texas Border Sheriff’s Coalition, the groups claimed that the two main drivers of illicit drugs leading to overdoses and violence into the U.S. are Sinaloa Cartel and Cartel Jalisco New Generation.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra shared the letter on social media while asking for support in forcing Mexico to dismantle cartels.

In their statement, the sheriff’s organizations pointed to the casualty count from September 11, 2001, where “terrorists killed 2,977 innocent people.” As a result of that attack, the response from the U.S. “included declaring war on terrorism and bringing justice to the victims of this unthinkable tragedy by holding terrorists and terrorist countries accountable.”

However, noting that in a 12-month period, there were 107,000 overdose deaths — most tied to fentanyl brought by those two cartels —  and the U.S. had done little in response.

“This crisis has caused 35 more times the amount of death to American citizens in a one-year period than was inflicted upon the U.S. on September 11th by Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden,” the sheriffs stated.

The harsh words from the top law local law enforcement officials in the country come just days after 21 state attorneys general filed a letter asking for U.S. President Joseph Biden to designate drug cartels as terrorist organizations.

NO ONE SHOULD UNDER ESTIMATE THE DAMAGE JOE BIDEN HAS PERPETRATED ON AMERCA!

“Joe Biden is great on immigration. I guess depends on your perspective. If you’re a human trafficker, or drug dealer, you’d give him an A-plus, but theAmerican people would give him an F. The crisis at our border was not only entirely predictable, it was predicted. I predicted that if you campaign all year long on open borders, amnesty, and health care for illegals, you’re going to get more migrants at the border. That’s what’s happened since the election.” SEN. TOM COTTON

“Mexican authorities have arrested the former mayor of a rural community in the border state of Coahuila in connection with the kidnapping, murder and incineration of hundreds of victims through a network of ovens at the hands of the Los Zetas cartel. The arrest comes after Breitbart Texas exposed not only the horrors of the mass extermination, but also the cover-up and complicity of the Mexican government.”

“Heroin is not produced in the United States. Every gram of heroin present in the United States provides unequivocal evidence of a failure of border security because every gram of heroin was smuggled into the United States. Indeed, this is precisely a point that Attorney General Jeff Sessions made during his appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on October 18, 2017 when he again raised the need to secure the U.S./Mexican border to protect American lives.” Michael Cutler …..FrontPageMag.com

(CNSNews.com) – Republicans heckled President Biden when he raised the fentanyl crisis during his State of the Union on Tuesday night, drawing attention to the flow of the deadly synthetic opioid over the insecure southwest border and to China’s role in its production.

After introducing and paying tribute to a guest whose daughter died of a fentanyl overdose aged 20, Biden said, “Fentanyl is killing more than 70,000 Americans a year.”

Heckling erupted, with lawmakers shouting “close the border” and what sounded like “it’s coming from China,” before a male voice was heard yelling at the president, “it’s your fault!”

Biden grinned, and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, seated behind him, pursed his lips in a bid to shush the hecklers in his party – not for the first time during the speech. Vice President Kamala Harris appeared bemused.

The president then went on, “Let’s launch a major surge to stop fentanyl production and the sale and trafficking, with more drug detection machines to inspect cargo and stop pills and powder at the border.”

“Working with couriers like Fed Ex to inspect more packages for drugs,” he added. “Strong penalties to crack down on fentanyl trafficking.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), identified in some reports as one of the hecklers, tweeted afterwards, “Biden is the Mexican cartel’s best business partner. And their business is murdering Americans with Chinese-made fentanyl.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 71,238 Americans died in fentanyl overdoses in 2021, up from 57,834 in 2020 and from 28,466 in 2017.

The quantity of fentanyl seized by Customs and Border Protection agents at the southwest border has been climbing steadily in recent years, from 2,633 pounds in fiscal year 2019 to 10,586 pounds two years later, and to 14,104 pounds in FY 2022.

(Table: CNSNews.com / Data: U.S. Customs and Border Protection)
(Table: CNSNews.com / Data: U.S. Customs and Border Protection)

Just three months into FY 2023, fentanyl seizures along the U.S.-Mexico border reported by CBP have already reached 7,226 pounds – more than the entire hauls reported in FY 2019 and FY 2020 put together.

How much fentanyl is smuggled across the border and not detected and seized is not known.

“There are no comprehensive data on the total quantity of foreign-produced illicit drugs smuggled into the United States at or between official ports of entry (POEs) because these are drugs that have generally evaded seizure by border officials,” according to a 2020 Congressional Research Service report.

House Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas)
House Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas)

(CNSNews.com) – During a House Oversight Committee hearing on border security, Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Tex.) explained how Mexican drug cartels are waging what he describes as “asymmetrical warfare” on the United States.

On Feb. 7 at the Capitol, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability held a hearing entitled “On the Front Lines of the Border Crisis: A Hearing with Chief Patrol Agents.”

The two expert witnesses invited to testify at the hearing were Gloria Chavez, Chief Patrol Agent of the Rio Grande Valley Sector, and John Modlin, Chief Patrol Agent of the Tucson Sector.

During his remarks, Rep. Fallon used his time to shine a light on the size and nature of the cartels.

“Chief Modlin, do you believe the Mexican drug cartels present a clear and present danger to the safety and security of the United States?” asked Fallon.

“I would say that the drug cartels and their control of the border […] is a very significant problem,” replied Chief Modlin.

Fallon went on to reveal that the estimated total revenue for the cartels is $38 billion a year, made from illegal narcotics and human trafficking.

“That’s the size of some nation states’ entire GDP in a given year,” explained Fallon.

In his response, Modlin said, “I think it’s very important that you’ve brought up the amount of money the cartels have.”

“So these organizations,” Modlin continued, “the funds they have, it’s almost limitless. They don’t have to follow policy, they don’t have to follow law, they don’t recognize the international border, they don’t recognize state borders. So, where we are, of course, confined by all those things, or restricted by those things, they have absolute freedom.”

“Absolute freedom to smuggle in fentanyl,” Fallon interrupted, “which I think we’d all agree is the most dangerous drug they’re currently trafficking in. Where something smaller than a tip of a pencil, two milligrams, can kill a human being. They’ve smuggled in 24,000 pounds in the last two fiscal years, and they have killed 80,000 Americans in just one year.”

“That is asymmetrical warfare being waged on the United States, and what we don’t lack is your will to secure the border, the border patrol agents’ will,” said Fallon. “We have the resources, we have the manpower, we have the technology. What we lack, Mr. Chairman, is Alejandro Mayorkas’ will, and Joe Biden’s will to do so.”

On the morning of the hearing, the Twitter account for the Oversight Committee Democrats tweeted the following:

“Good morning and good luck to everyone except @GOPoversight members who are using today’s hearing to amplify white nationalist conspiracy theories instead of a comprehensive solution to protect our borders and strengthen our immigration system.”

This tweet prompted a response from Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) who said the following at the start of the hearing:

“I’m just going to cut to the chase for my colleagues on the other side of the aisle who want to state that we’re using this hearing for white nationalism. I’m not doing that, so if you feel that strongly come walk to this side of the room and let’s talk about it face to face. But leave that kind of silly stuff for somebody else. Don’t bring that here today, this stuff is serious.”

From April 2020 to April 2021, more than 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, according to data from the National Center for Health Statistics. An overwhelming majority of those deaths came from opioids, and fentanyl smuggling has surged at the southern border since the start of Joe Biden's presidency.

                         Joseph Simonson and Collin Anderson

“Joe Biden is great on immigration. I guess depends on your perspective. If you’re a human trafficker, or drug dealer, you’d give him an A-plus, but theAmerican people would give him an F. The crisis at our border was not only entirely predictable, it was predicted. I predicted that if you campaign all year long on open borders, amnesty, and health care for illegals, you’re going to get more migrants at the border. That’s what’s happened since the election.” SEN. TOM COTTON

Is it all that different from his open borders policies, where millions of unvetted foreign migrants are flooding into this country without authorization, bringing crime, drugs, and costs, yet there too nothing is done about it? Joe offers an absurd excuse for that decision, as well claiming that all migrants who can utter the magic word 'asylum' are entitled to a free ride inside the U.S. for years or more, amounting to an all-expenses paid trip for thousands. MONICA SHOWALTER

Admiral: ‘We Should Never Give China a Pass’ Over Its Responsibility for the Fentanyl Crisis

(CNSNews.com) – Ahead of a State of the Union address in which President Biden called for a “major surge” to tackle the deadly opioid epidemic, a U.S. Navy admiral and former U.S. Pacific Command commander said Tuesday the U.S. “should never give China a pass” over its responsibility for the fentanyl crisis.

When Biden addressed the fentanyl issue during his speech, he was heckled by some House Republicans, with one of them yelling what sounded like “it’s coming from China.”

Fentanyl has been identified as the leading killer of Americans between the ages of 18 and 49. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that more than 100,000 Americans died of a drug overdose in 2021, with synthetic opioids like fentanyl accounting for two-thirds of the deaths.

The majority of the precursor chemicals for producing the deadly drug are reported to come from China.

Hours before Biden’s speech, retired Adm. Harry Harris Jr. told the House Armed Services Committee that the U.S. needs to “pressurize China more, and ensure that the world understands that China is behind the fentanyl crisis – not only in America, but elsewhere.”

Another part of addressing the crisis, he said, was “the enforcement piece, at the point of entry into the United States, which is Mexico and the cartels.”

“But we should never give China a pass on the fact that they’re behind the manufacture of this scourge across America,” said Harris, who served as U.S. Pacific Command commander until retiring from naval service in 2018, when he became ambassador to South Korea until 2021.

In response to a question, Harris said he did not hold the view that the situation was the result of a concerted Chinese Communist Party strategy to kill Americans.

“It doesn’t strike you though as curious that our biggest adversary is responsible for almost all the fentanyl that comes in, flows into this country – ?” asked Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.).

“I think it’s concerning,” said Harris. He agreed with Banks that “it is a national security issue.”

‘Diplomatic push’

A White House State of the Union fact sheet listed “key actions” the administration plans to take to tackle the issue, including leading “a sustained diplomatic push that will address fentanyl and its supply chain abroad.”

“The administration will work with international partners to disrupt the global fentanyl production and supply chain, and call on others to join our efforts. We will focus on seizing chemical ingredients and fentanyl before it can reach our communities, and hold accountable the producers, traffickers, and facilitators of these deadly drugs,” it said.

“Many of these ingredients and materials originate outside our borders, and we will call on global partners to work with us and do more to disrupt the criminal elements within their countries who sell chemicals and tools for the production of counterfeit pills around the world.”

At a White House briefing ahead of Biden’s speech, Office of National Drug Control Policy Director Dr. Rahul Gupta was asked about this planned “diplomatic push.”

“One of the things that we know is important is to make sure that we’re addressing the entire global supply chain of fentanyl and precursor compounds,” he said. “This is why the President has been so forward leaning when it’s talking with President López Obrador in Mexico or President Xi in China.”

Gupta said the administration has “specific asks” of China, to take steps that would “significantly reduce, if not eliminate, that shipping of precursor chemicals – but also at the same time to ensure that where the production happens of fentanyl, which is mostly in Mexico, that we’re working with the Mexican authorities and the leadership there.”

He said Biden’s diplomatic push would aim to “ensure that we’re working with these countries to hold illicit actors accountable in their countries. And we want to work with the leaders of these countries to make sure that they do just that.”

State Department spokesman Ned Price said last month that China-origin precursor chemicals “still make their way to third countries and ultimately form the basis of so much of the fentanyl that arrives in the United States and kills our citizens.”

Border Advocates Blast Biden’s Call for Amnesty in State of the Union

President Biden ignored his border crisis while also calling for amnesty in his State of the Union address, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) charged.

FAIR, which advocates for border security and the reduction of legal immigration, responded to President Biden’s statements about the border in a press release

“President Biden, who came to office two years ago with some of the lowest levels of illegal immigration in modern history, largely ignored the historic border crisis he created by devoting only a few lines to it in his State of the Union address,” the press release begins.

FAIR noted that “Other than a call for additional manpower (to process migrants) and equipment to ‘secure’ our borders, Biden said nothing about his failed policies that have resulted in more than a quarter of a million illegal aliens breaching our borders in a single month.”

But even more concerning, Biden “reiterated his call for a mass amnesty that will serve as yet another magnet for even greater illegal immigration in the future,” FAIR points out.

During his speech, Biden said, “If you won’t pass my comprehensive immigration reform, at least pass … a pathway to citizenship for DREAMers, those on temporary status, farm workers, and essential workers.”

The organization also explained the scope of the crisis, charging that only two years into the Biden presidency, “We are approaching 6 million illegal entrants, the vast majority of whom have been released under the pretense that they will be removed sometime in the future. We all know they won’t.”

Should the number of illegal entrants reach six million, it would be roughly numerically equivalent to the state of Maryland.

The organization alleges that

President Biden sought to portray his flagrantly illegal abuse of parole as an effective border enforcement strategy. With no statutory authority, he has created a parallel immigration system that allows 360,000 otherwise inadmissible aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to enter each year, all while boasting that he has cut illegal entry by citizens of those countries by 97 percent.

FAIR also went on to compare the approach to “raising the speed limit to 150 mph and bragging that you have dramatically reduced the number of drivers cited with speeding tickets.”

The organization went on to condemn the administration’s approach to the border, claiming that Biden isn’t even trying to enforce the law. “Subtly, but unmistakably, President Biden’s agenda has effectively abolished statutorily mandated border and immigration enforcement and replaced it with border and immigration management,” the release read.

FAIR also stated that “The goal of U.S. immigration policymaking under the Biden Administration is clear: Open borders for all who want to settle here, and amnesty for everyone who is already here illegally.”

“All manner of enforcement is out and endless accommodation is in,” FAIR concluded.

Mexican Cartel-Style Violence Spreading in California over Marijuana Grow Fields

Contrary to political rhetoric, Mexican cartel-style killings and gun battles appear to have already reached the U.S. and are spreading — particularly in California. The region experienced an explosive growth of cartel marijuana grow operations that are taking advantage of legalization and lax laws.

This week, federal authorities clashed with one of two gunmen who are accused of killing a family of six — including a 16-year-old female and her baby. The murders took place last month in Tulare County, California, in what some authorities have dubbed a cartel killing.

On early Friday morning, federal agents arrested Noah David Beard, 25, and Angel “Nanu” Uriarte, 35, the Los Angeles Times reported. The article identified both men as Sureno Gang members. Uriarte clashed with federal agents in a gun battle. He sustained multipole injuries and had to undergo surgery. He is expected to survive. Authorities arrested Beard without a shootout.

The two men are facing six murder charges and several enhancements filed by the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office over the January 16 mass killing. Authorities also carried out several raids at homes and prison cells targeting the Nuestra Familia gang. Both the Nuestra Familia and the Surenos have a history of working with Mexican drug cartels.

According to the Los Angeles Times, authorities found the 16-year-old mother in a ditch cradling her baby in her arms. Both victims were shot in the head.  Initially, Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux called the murder the work of a cartel, however, he later tried to walk back the claim, the Times reported.

Tulare County and other counties in Northern California have seen a dramatic rise in cartel presence due to the legal marijuana trade and lax laws around it. Additionally, various cartel figures who have become famous in Mexico are actually U.S. citizens. Among these is Jose Maria “Z-43” Guizar Valencia a top leader with the Los Zetas cartel who was born in Tulare California and is currently awaiting sentencing on various federal drug trafficking charges in Texas.

According to a report from USA Today, since California legalized marijuana for recreational use, Mexican cartels have moved their grow operations to the U.S. where they can hide among legal farms. The publication reported that in 2021, there were 10,000 illegal grow operations in Mendocino County alone. The issue has already led to various high-profile cases similar to the one in Tulare County last month.

One of the main draws for cartels is that operating an illegal grow is only a misdemeanor offense in California and that business is cash only. Additionally, the region does not have enough law enforcement officers to patrol those grow sites and enforce laws against illegal growing operations, USA Today reported.

California Detectives Seize 90 Pounds of Fentanyl: Enough to Kill Millions of Americans

The Alameda County Narcotics Task Force conducted the biggest drug bust in the county’s history, seizing 90 pounds of fentanyl Friday that authorities said have a street value of $4.2 million, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.

Lt. Ray Kelly, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, said detectives found a fentanyl manufacturing lab last week after serving two search warrants in Oakland and Hayward in the California Bay Area.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported on the operation, which involved enough fentanyl to kill millions of Americans:

Detectives at the manufacturing lab found 92.58 pounds of fentanyl and two illegal firearms. One suspect involved in the manufacturing of fentanyl was taken into custody, and authorities are searching for a second suspect “on the run,” Kelly said. Neither suspects’ identities nor the exact location of the fentanyl lab were disclosed.

Bay Area public health officials say fentanyl, a synthetic opioid far more potent than heroin, has been the driver of the region’s opioid epidemic in recent years. About seven in 10 drug-related deaths in San Francisco involve fentanyl, according to figures from the city’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the illicit drug can be lethal even in small amounts.

The sheriff’s office noted on their Facebook account that “per the dea.gov one kilogram of fentanyl can kill 500,000 people.”

“This shows you just how prolific our fentanyl problem is,” Kelly said in the article. “Every day, people in the Bay Area continue to overdose, young people suffering from addiction, and they’re dying at unacceptable rates. So this is just one dent that we feel we took.”

Pelosi on Legalizing Marijuana: 'I'm All for It'

(CNSNews.com) - At many of her news conferences, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) talks about her concern for children -- "my reason to be here" (in the Congress), she said again on Thursday.

Also at Thursday's news conference, Pelosi expressed her support for the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act, which decriminalizes marijuana and eliminates criminal penalties for an individual who manufactures, distributes, or possesses marijuana. "I'm all for it," she said.

The bill also makes other changes (see below) --  including a name change -- "cannabis" instead of "marijuana" in federal legislation:

"The MORE Act that is on the floor today," Pelosi said in her opening remarks. "It's a major criminal reform bill that helps end the racial and economic injustice of marijuana decriminalization. It, ah, it's -- we're very proud of the work that has gone into it, and we would hope that it has support in the Senate."

Pelosi said the bill "is about justice."

Later, a reporter asked Pelosi what concerns Americans may have about the bill.

She noted that many states already have decriminalized marijuana, "and so this is consistent with what is happening in many states across the country. And it also addresses the injustices of it, because of what penalties had been (imposed) before the decriminalization took place. So I'm all for it," she said.

Pelosi then mentioned the "fact" that marijuana exists, is being used, and "we've got to address how it is treated legally and not in a way that mistreats people on the lower income scale -- not says, if you're wealthy, you can be engaged in all of this, but if you’re not, there are barriers to your even getting banking services in order to do it. So it's a fact of life that needed appropriate public policy to address it."

The MORE Act also:

--replaces statutory references to marijuana and marihuana with cannabis,

--requires the Bureau of Labor Statistics to regularly publish demographic data on cannabis business owners and employees,

--establishes a trust fund to support various programs and services for individuals and businesses in communities impacted by the war on drugs,

--imposes an excise tax on cannabis products produced in or imported into the United States and an occupational tax on cannabis production facilities and export warehouses,

--makes Small Business Administration loans and services available to entities that are cannabis-related legitimate businesses or service providers,

--prohibits the denial of federal public benefits to a person on the basis of certain cannabis-related conduct or convictions,

--prohibits the denial of benefits and protections under immigration laws on the basis of a cannabis-related event (e.g., conduct or a conviction),

--establishes a process to expunge convictions and conduct sentencing review hearings related to federal cannabis offenses, and

--directs the Government Accountability Office to study the societal impact of cannabis legalization.

Tom Cotton: Joe Biden Will Keep Foreign Drug Dealers in U.S.

NEIL MUNRO

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) slammed President Joe Biden’s administration amid evidence that his deputies want to minimize the deportation of illegal migrants who are caught dealing deadly drugs.

“It’s the Biden administration policy to allow illegal aliens to stay in America even after they: -Deal fentanyl and heroin -Commit fraud -Commit assault -Drive drunk -Launder money,” Cotton tweeted February 8.

“More than 80,000 Americans died from drug overdoses last year. And the Biden administration just announced that deporting illegal alien cartel members who deal with fentanyl and heroin is no longer a priority for his administration,” he added.

For more than 20 years, many Americans have been killed by drunk-driving illegals, including many killed after federal and state officials decide not to deport illegals.

It's the Biden administration policy to allow illegal aliens to stay in America even after they:

-Deal fentanyl and heroin
-Commit fraud
-Commit assault
-Drive drunk
-Launder moneyhttps://t.co/Vr0RhYAJQV

— Tom Cotton (@TomCottonAR) February 8, 2021

The Washington Post reported February 7 how Biden’s deputies are changing deportation priorities for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency:

While ICE’s new operational plans are not yet final, interim instructions sent to senior officials point to a major shift in enforcement. Agents will no longer seek to deport immigrants for crimes such as driving under the influence and assault, and will focus instead on national security threats, recent border crossers and people completing prison and jail terms for aggravated felony convictions.

“Generally, these convictions would not include drug based crimes (less serious offenses), simple assault, DUI, money laundering, property crimes, fraud, tax crimes, solicitation, or charges without convictions,” acting director Tae Johnson told senior officials in a Thursday email advising them on how to operate while new guidelines are finalized.

“The priority for the enforcement of immigration laws will be on those who are imposing a national security threat, of course, a public safety threat, and on recent arrivals,” Biden spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in the February 8 White House press briefing:

Nobody is saying that DUIs or assaults are acceptable behavior, and those arrested for such activities should be tried and sentenced as appropriate by local law enforcement. But we’re talking about the prioritization of who is going to be deported from the country.

The priority list for deportations also excludes migrants who take American’ jobs and wages. This policy will largely abandon the task of protecting Americans’ right to a national labor market.

Biden has repeatedly declared he wants to make the nation’s immigration system more “fair” to migrants. Since January 20, he has minimized deportations, stopped construction of the border wall, offered an amnesty to migrants, broken anti-migration deals with three counties, and has lowered legal barriers to migration.

However, he has said little or nothing about how he will protect Americans’ rights, wages, safe streets, and reasonable housing from foreign criminals or job seekers. A February 2 statement said:

President Biden’s strategy is centered on the basic premise that our country is saferstronger, and more prosperous with a fair, safe and orderly immigration system that welcomes immigrants, keeps families together, and allows people—both newly arrived immigrants and people who have lived here for generations—to more fully contribute to our country.

Amid Biden’s inrush of migrants and shutdown of deportations, more than 20 million Americans are unemployed or are stuck in part-time jobs.

Biden is also rolling back protections for American graduates, who have lost at least one million jobs because Fortune 500 CEOs and their subcontractors have hired more than 1 million foreign graduates for jobs sought by Americans.

In a separate tweet, Cotton lambasted Biden’s team for dropping a rule that would protect American graduate from losing jobs to H-1B graduate visa-workers who are willing to work for low wages in the hope of getting green cards:

Big Tech abuses the H-1B visa program to hire cheap foreign labor instead of Americans. That isn’t good for American workers, but the Biden administration is letting companies get away with it.https://t.co/YIolIoyqJl

— Tom Cotton (@SenTomCotton) February 5, 2021

For years, a wide variety of pollsters have shown deep and broad opposition to labor migration — or the hiring of temporary contract workers into the jobs sought by young U.S. graduates.

The multiracialcross-sexnon-racistclass-basedpriority-driven, and solidarity-themed opposition to labor migration coexists with generally favorable personal feelings toward legal immigrants and immigration in theory.

Joe Biden's deputies attack Americans' right to their own national labor market, by quietly barring the deportation of illegal migrants who take Americans' wages and jobs.
That labor policy helps corporate donors.

In June, the police department requested assistance with its investigation of the gang’s violent criminal activity from the California Department of Justice’s Special Operations Unit. Together with the district attorney’s office and other local law enforcement partners, the team made 180 felony arrests, shut down 30 illegal gambling establishments, and seized 92 handguns, 19 assault weapons, $295,870 in U.S. currency, as well as hundreds of pounds of illicit drugs over the course of the investigation. Yesterday, the investigation culminated in a largescale operation with agents executing 34 search warrants, arresting 31 suspects, and seizing 11 firearms at multiple sites in San Bernardino County.

“Members and associates of this gang have committed violent crimes in San Bernardino with no regard for the people in the community who are directly or indirectly harmed,” said Attorney General Rob Bonta. “This investigation and yesterday’s arrests and seizures have removed dangerous individuals from our streets and firearms from the hands of those who would choose to commit violent crimes. The results of this investigation could also assist law enforcement in solving other cases in the area. The partnership between our agents and local law enforcement made this possible, and I’m thankful to every person involved in this successful investigation.”

“As decriminalization initiatives continue to undermine the safety of our community, we have never been more reliant on our law enforcement partners,” said San Bernardino Police Chief David Green

“The scale of this multiagency operation speaks to the commitment we have to eradicate criminal street gangs across San Bernardino County, particularly one with such a violent history as the Westside Verdugo gang,” said San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson. “Violent crime is on the rise, and several of the defendants we have filed against are facing their 3rd strike, indicating a propensity for criminal behavior. The success of this takedown was due to the tremendous efforts of the San Bernardino Police Department and the Department of Justice in conducting the investigation, and the tenacity of our specialized gang unit prosecutors. We will use everything in our toolkit including weapon enhancements, gang enhancements, prior convictions, and prior strike convictions to ensure maximum accountability from these defendants, keeping career criminals off the streets of San Bernardino and out of our communities.”

Westside Verdugo has an extensive criminal history in the San Bernardino area. The gang is suspected of multiple violent crimes including assault, attempted murder, and murder.

Over the course of the investigation, numerous violent crimes were prevented, including shootings and armed robberies. Evidence collected during the investigation also assisted in solving two homicides in the area. Agents also shut down 30 illegal gambling establishments and seized over 100 illegal gambling machines and devices. These establishments were operated by members and associates of Westside Verdugo and brought in tens of thousands of dollars a week for the gang. In 2021, five homicides, four attempted murders, and multiple other crimes were linked to these sites.

DOJ’s Special Operations Unit is a collaborative investigative effort between DOJ and the California Highway Patrol. The unit provides statewide enforcement for combating violent career criminals, gangs, and organized crime groups, along with intrastate drug traffickers. These unique and essential teams use the latest technology and advanced investigative techniques and work alongside local law enforcement to enhance investigations into violent criminals and organized crime throughout the state.

SAN BERNARDINO: 52 gang members indicted in drug sales, smuggling case

Fifty-two members and associates of San Bernardino’s largest criminal gang were indicted Thursday on narcotics trafficking charges, the FBI said.

Of those 52, 21 people were arrested Thursday, and 22 already were in custody on unrelated charges, according to an FBI news release. The other  nine are being sought.

All were charged with conspiracy to distribute and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and heroin. Seven also are charged with distributing the narcotics, the FBI said. The indictment, unsealed Thursday, was the result of a yearslong investigation by federal, state, county and city authorities that targeted the West Side Verdugo gang.

The defendants face 10 years to life in prison if convicted, the FBI said.

San Bernardino police Lt. Rich Lawhead, who was part of the team that made the arrests, said that in addition to drug pushing, West Side Verdugo members are responsible for several homicides and assaults in the city.

“All our street gangs are a problem,” Lawhead said. “They create an environment of fear. Gangs in general are responsible for a majority of our homicides and a lot of the other illegal activity in the city.”

Most of the 90-page indictment is devoted to summaries of 502 separate phone calls or text messages intercepted by authorities in which the sales of heroin and meth were discussed in coded language. Other messages discussed smuggling drugs to inmates, including those in the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, and Corcoran and Ironwood state prisons.

There were also conversations about money owed, the collection of “drug taxes” from dealers allowed to set up in gang territory, and the enforcement of gang rules.

The conversations occurred from Aug. 26, 2010, to Jan. 16, 2012.

“A lot of these people were shocked when we showed up,” Lawhead said, noting the amount of time that had passed since the investigation began. “But the wheels of justice do move.”

Lawhead said he hoped the arrests would dissuade youngsters from joining gangs.

The release said the Verdugo gang and its affiliates are linked to the Mexican Mafia prison gang. The indictment outlines how some of the proceeds generated by narcotic sales were funneled to the Mexican Mafia.

Some of the drugs were dealt at what was described as the “7th Street Park.” FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said that was a reference to La Plaza Park on Mt. Vernon Avenue, at Seventh Street on San Bernardino’s west side.

Lawhead said heroin has been sold at that park for years, and that the city’s officers patrol La Plaza and other parks in an effort to deter drug dealers.

Gang members went to great lengths to smuggle drugs to inmates, according to the indictment. One person, identified as “Martinez,” was told to sneak drugs into West Valley Detention Center by getting himself arrested and booked into the facility. His plan was foiled, however, when a police officer merely wrote a citation for an unspecified offense.

“There wasn’t anyone who wanted to go to jail today – I guarantee you that,” Lawhead said.

Other agencies participating in the investigation and arrests, according to the FBI, were the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, San Bernardino County Probation Department, Los Angeles Police Department, LA County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Joint investigation into San Bernardino street gang nets 180 arrests, firearms, drugs

Tentacles of operation allegedly reached into Los Angeles and Orange counties

By JOE NELSON | San Bernardino Sun

A yearlong investigation into a San Bernardino street gang’s criminal activity has netted 180 arrests, shuttered 30 illegal gambling operations and resulted in the seizure of more than 100 assault weapons and handguns, authorities announced Thursday.

San Bernardino police last year began investigating illegal firearms sales involving Westside Verdugo, a Latino street gang rooted in the city for roughly 70 years.

But early on in the investigation, police realized they were dealing with something much bigger than just illicit gun sales, Police Chief David Green said during a news conference Thursday at the San Bernardino Police Department, where dozens of assault weapons and handguns seized by police during the investigation were spread across a table. Also on display was a large electronic gambling machine.San Bernardino Police Chief David Green announces 180 arrests made and 111 firearms seized during a multiagency operation targeting the Westside Verdugo criminal street gang during a press conference at the San Bernardino Police Station in San Bernardino on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021. “As they started doing more analysis on these cases, they were recognizing it was a little more coordinated and a little more significant than what they initially realized, and that’s when they started pursuing it as more of a conspiracy type of investigation,” Green said. The investigation and subsequent arrests extended into Orange and Los Angeles counties, he said.

Several agencies enlisted

In June, the investigation ramped up when the San Bernardino Police Department asked the state attorney general’s Special Operations Unit to join in. The Santa Ana Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol also assisted in the investigation, which culminated Wednesday when officers fanned out across San Bernardino County, serving 34 search warrants, arresting 31 people and seizing 111 firearms at multiple locations.

During the course of the investigation, coined “Operation Westside Jenga,” police seized 92 handguns, 19 assault weapons, more than $295,000 in cash and hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin and fentanyl. Several potential shootings and armed robberies were thwarted, and evidence collected by investigators during the investigation assisted in the closure of two homicide cases, police said.

Additionally, investigators infiltrated and shut down 30 illegal gambling operations and seized more than 100 high-end gambling machines. The facilities were linked to five homicides, four attempted murders and other crimes in 2021, authorities said.

Gambling operations

The gambling operations — which housed high-end gambling machines, most of them acquired on the black market and imported from China — were bringing in tens of thousands of dollars a week and were operated out of private residences, warehouses and closed businesses, Green said.

He said the gambling facilities were a joint-enterprise between Westside Verdugo and the Mexican Mafia, the patriarchal prison gang that receives a share of profits from drug sales and other illicit business carried out by Westside Verdugo and other Latino street gangs in the form of “taxes.” Some of that revenue was reinvested into the gambling operations.

“It has a hierarchy. It has its own business model. It’s an illicit business model, but it’s one that’s very lucrative nonetheless,” Green said.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta said the people of San Bernardino “can go to bed tonight knowing their community is safer.”

“We’re putting serious criminals behind bars,” Bonta said, adding that he was proud of the results of the investigation not only as attorney general, but also as a father. “Every child in California deserves to grow up in a safe neighborhood — a neighborhood that is free from violence, a neighborhood without gun violence.”

Feds not involved

Green said authorities opted to handle the prosecution locally without the help of the federal government, which often takes down such large criminal enterprises using the Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act, referred to as the RICO Act.

“We’re not pursuing a federal prosecution in this case because we have the local District Attorney’s Office that we feel is going to be able to give us a successful prosecutorial outcome,” Green said. “But these types of cases are often handled by federal prosecutors under that RICO statute.”

San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson said his office has so far charged 45 defendants with various felony offenses, which include a total of 57 firearm enhancements and 41 gang enhancements. Six of the defendants are facing third strikes, Anderson said.

“Our role is twofold in this particular instance. Number one is we are going to punish these individuals as severely as we possibly can, and number two, we’re going to separate them from an otherwise law-abiding community for as long as we can,” Anderson said.

More criminal charges are expected, authorities said.

“Many of these cases are still under review, and we are expecting many more charges to be filed,” Green said. “Some of them will be tried jointly, and some of them will be parsed out separately.”

Texas DPS: Mexican Cartels Committing Murders in the U.S.

ILDEFONSO ORTIZ and BRANDON DARBY

Drug cartel gunmen are crossing the border to commit murders in Texas, authorities claim. The statements by officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety directly clash with longstanding claims by local police chiefs who routinely say that border cities are safe.

“These criminal organizations come across from Mexico to the U.S. side and they kill individuals. they murder individuals,” Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Lieutenant Chris Olivarez told Sara Carter with Fox News. “We have had several incidents that have taken place along the border using professional-type weapons the way they carry out these killings, very professional, very methodical.”

The statements by Olivarez come at a time when both DPS and the Texas National Guard increased their law enforcement presence along the border in response to record-breaking human and drug smuggling activity by criminal organizations like the Gulf Cartel and the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas.

The statements made by Olivarez clash with the longstanding narrative by several politicians, local police chiefs, and sheriffs who claim that border cities are safe. Those claims are usually backed up by statistics from the FBI Uniform Crime Report. However as Breitbart Texas has reported, the UCR only looks at seven specific crimes and does not account for criminal activity that is specific to border cities such as kidnappings, extortion, drug trafficking, human smuggling, and human trafficking.

Additionally, the terminology used by police departments for the UCR report allows them to hide the severity of certain crimes. One example particular to border cities deals with home invasions, where teams of gunmen storm into a house looking for drugs or cash. As Breitbart Texas has reported, home invasions are reported in the UCR report only as robberies.

Surge in Fentanyl Seizures Show Cartels Taking Advantage of Lax Border Policies, DHS Officials Say

Customs and Border Protection's fentanyl seizures skyrocketed by over 40 percent in the month of October, as drug traffickers and cartels take advantage of the border crisis.

Agency data show that CBP agents last month captured nearly 1,050 pounds of the lethal opioid, the fifth-highest amount in three years. For comparison, the amount of fentanyl seized in October is more than 2.5 times the amount the agency seized in the first three months of 2019 and roughly 40 percent of the amount seized in all of 2019.

The high amount of fentanyl busts coincides with skyrocketing opiate overdoses across the country—the Centers for Disease Control recorded a record-high 12-month overdose death toll between March 2020 and March 2021 with no signs of deceleration through the end of this year. The seizures also come as President Joe Biden reverses a number of border policies, a decision that critics say grants more opportunities for criminal elements to smuggle drugs into the country.

One senior Department of Homeland Security official told the Washington Free Beacon that drug smugglers are accelerating their operations as agents on the border face resource and manpower constraints with processing asylum claims instead of trying to stop drug smugglers.

"Cartels are exploiting the migrant crisis to expand drug and human smuggling," one senior DHS official said. "The administration knew full well that using agents to process mass groups of economic migrants would mean reducing the effort to combat crime. They alone own these failures."

The Biden administration has touted high seizure numbers as a success. Deputy White House Press Secretary Andrew Bates on Nov. 2 tweeted out an excerpt from an MSNBC piece that said, "The [fentanyl] seizures disprove one of the [GOP's] favorite talking points: If the president had implemented an ‘open-border' policy, as the right routinely claims, U.S. Customs and Border Protection wouldn't have stopped these shipments."

Officials within Border Patrol and DHS disputed that characterization by the White House, with the senior DHS official calling Bates's comment "galaxy brain" thinking.

Many states have pinned much of the blame for the opioid crisis on the Biden administration's immigration policies, calling them reckless and a public health threat.

West Virginia, which has been among the states hardest hit by the opioid crisis, in August filed a lawsuit against DHS and Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the department's decision to end the Trump-era Migrant Protection Protocols, which force asylum seekers to remain in Mexico before their court dates in the United States. The state alleged in court that the decision contributed to the "devastating deadly flood of fentanyl across the Southwest border."

"By its consequences burdening and distracting the Border Patrol, the termination of the [Migrant Protection Protocols] decreases the security of the border against fentanyl trafficking between ports of entry, leading directly to both increased numbers of smuggling attempts and increased rates of success in evading Border Patrol," the lawsuit stated. Missouri in April filed a similar suit against DHS.

Research has found that just two milligrams of fentanyl can cause a lethal overdose in people with no prior use of the drug, meaning the amount of the drug seized in October alone could kill over 200 million people.

The influx of fentanyl from across the border has led to bipartisan efforts in Congress to ramp up law-enforcement efforts to arrest and prosecute dealers and traffickers. A group of Republican and Democratic senators in September introduced the Providing Officers with Electronic Resources Act, which provides grants to local law-enforcement agencies for portable fentanyl screening devices.

REMEMBER JOE IS THE SOCIPATH GAMER LAWYER WHO PARADES AS A POPULIST AS HE SERVICES WALL STREET'S DEMAND FOR 'CHEAP' LABOR WHICH HAS DESTROYED MIDDLE AMERICA.

Though Biden’s DHS has drastically expanded its Catch and Release network at the border, the agency continues to hide the monthly number of border crossers who are directly released into the U.S. interior.

Report: Alejandro Mayorkas Allowed 1.17 Million Migrant Got-Aways

More than 1.7 million economic migrants have been allowed to sneak across President Joe Biden’s border, amid the millions of migrants who surrender to border guards, according to government data shared by the Federation of American Immigration Reform.

The flood of so-called illegal-migrant “got-aways” spiked from roughly 40,000 per month in 2021 to almost 90,000 in December 2022, according to FAIR’s report, titled “The State of the Border: New FAIR Issue Brief Paints a Grim Picture of a Self-Induced Disaster.”

All told. “There were 1,174,385 gotaways during the first two years of President Biden’s tenure,” said FAIR.

That southern flood of got-away illegals delivered one new migrant for every six of the roughly 7.3 million Americans who were born during the same two-year period.

“The cumulative numbers of people illegally entering our country have become so large that it is hard for most people to grasp the magnitude of the Biden Border Crisis,” noted Dan Stein, president of FAIR.

All told, Biden’s border chief — the Cuban-born, pro-migration zealot Alejandro Mayorkas — may have allowed, smuggled, or processed roughly 6 million migrants during Biden’s first two years.

That huge inflow delivers almost three migrants for every four newborn Americans — prompting Democrats to intimidate Republicans from recognizing the huge scale of Biden’s migration.

The official count of got-aways understates the true numbers, according to former border security officials. Many got-aways are not detected by the agency’s surveillance gear — such as the declining number of aerostats with long-range cameras– and some are discounted when their tracks merge with other got-aways.

Mayorkas also turned a blind eye to the 1.17 million got-aways. For example, he declared that he would not try to deport migrants with jobs.

And Mayorkas has repeatedly declared the border is “secure” as the got-aways flood over the line. In April 2022, for example, he was asked by Rep. Michael Guest (R-NJ): “Are you testifying as you sit here today that the Southwest border is secure?” Mayorkas replied, “Yes, I am,” adding later that he has “operational control of the southern border.” Mayorkas is now facing possible impeachment by the House of Representatives.

Also, the got-aways are not included among the millions of economic migrants who are being released into the country under a variety of legal pretexts, such as parole, asylum, and “family unity.”

In 2021, Biden’s pro-migration border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, accepted almost 671,160 men, women, and children into the United States, according to federal data. The vast majority were released to search for jobs and homes also needed by young or struggling Americans.

In 2022, Mayorkas allowed 1,299,437 people unto the United States, nearly all of whom were released to search for jobs and homes needed by the ordinary Americans who once were championed by left-wing politicians and activists.

From October to December, Mayorkas admitted another 519,870 people, despite the existence of the Title 42 barrier, according to federal data.

Mayorkas also smuggled more than 100,000 migrants into U.S. society via his semi-secret “parole pipeline” in 2022. He is now planning to bring in at least 600,000 migrants per year through this pipeline.

All told, Mayorkas. admitted 3.5 million southern migrants during these two years — or roughly one migrant for every American born in a year.

An unknown number were flown back to their homes in Central America, but the vast majority of the 3.5 million — including 600,000 partway-identified people — were deliberately released into American society.

Legal Migration

The southern flood is in addition to the annual inflow of roughly 1 million legal migrants and roughly 750,000 short-term and long-term temporary workers. Those two pipelines delivered at least 2.5 million new migrants and workers into the United States, on top of the 3.5 million southern migrants.

The resulting tsunami of roughly 6 million migrants in 2021 and 2022 created a population shock that drove up rents, housing costs, and grocery bills for hundreds of millions of Americans. That impact has been ignored by progressives who tout the migrants as “newcomers” in a “Nation of Immigrants.”

The migration added at least four million workers to the nation’s workforce. That flood was urged and welcomed by business groups because it cuts Americans’ wages, and reduces pressure for corporate investment in labor-saving technology.

The flood also fills many coastal jobs and so minimizes the pressure on coastal investors to create new workplaces in the heartland states that have many underemployed and sidelined Americans, such as Sen. J.D. Vance’s state of Ohio.

For example, Mayorkas revved up the legal immigrants and spiked the inflow of temporary workers, such as H-2B workers.

In April 2022, the Council for Foreign Relations reported:

The number of visas issued as part of U.S. temporary foreign worker programs, sometimes referred to as guest worker programs, has sharply declined in recent years as the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed the movement of international migrants: nearly 550,000 visas were granted in 2021, down from some 846,000 in 2019.

In October 2022, for example, Mayorkas approved an additional 64,716 H-2B temporary nonagricultural worker visas for 2023, on top of the 66,000 H-2B visas already approved.

Many of the visa programs have no cap. For example, farm companies employ roughly 400,000 H-2A visa workers for jobs that would otherwise go to better-paid Americans and their new wave of wealth-boosting, labor-saving robots and machinery.

There is no cap on most white-collar migrant programs, such as the H-1B, J-1, F-1/OPT, L-1, TN, or E-2 programs. Overall, the white-collar programs keep a population of roughly 1.5 million foreign graduates in Fortune 500, healthcare, and university jobs. The flood of white-collar visa workers helps Fortune 500 investors by pushing down salaries for U.S. college graduates.

Mayorkas has also turned a blind eye to the use of foreign workers who arrive with short-term tourist visas. For example, the New York Times reported on February 8:

Josh Abernathy, the business manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Eight in Toledo, complained bitterly that while his members had been used to build a First Solar panel fabrication plant outside the city, the contractor on the project had brought in workers from Croatia and other Eastern European countries to install and maintain the fabrication equipment, work that ultimately outpaced construction jobs.

Mr. Abernathy filed a formal protest with the Biden administration’s Labor Department, saying that imported workers — the kind of nonlocal hires the administration had vowed to stop — were making $500 every two weeks and room and board.

“We had 150 electricians out there; don’t get me wrong,” he said. “But then we were equally matched with the installation of conveyor work when we were long gone.”

Mayorkas also accelerated the conversion of new migrants into green-card holders and then into citizens. The Pew Center reported in December 2022:

More than 900,000 immigrants became U.S. citizens during the 2022 fiscal year, according to a Pew Research Center estimate based on government data released for the first three quarters of the year. That annual total would be the third-highest on record and the most in any fiscal year since 2008, when more than a million people were naturalized. Federal fiscal years run from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.

Skewing Americans’ Economy for Investors and Landlords

Overall, Mayorkas is trying to remake the nation’s labor economy from a competitive marketplace of employers and citizens into a Canadian-style economy of government-backed employers and replaceable workers.

On January 8, a White House reporter asked Mayorkas: “What is your message to the American public about the impact of a labor shortage in America?”

Mayorkas responded by calling for an even greater skew of the nation’s labor market in favor of employers and investors:

The labor shortage in the United States is one powerful example of how desperately we need to fix our broken immigration system.  You know, we look to the north … Canada realized that it has a 1-million-person labor shortage there, and they are bringing in approximately 1.4 million migrants this year to address that labor shortage. Our programs — our H-2A, our H-2B, our skilled worker programs — are far outdated to really meet the economic needs as well as the economic opportunities [for migrants] that immigration can provide.

The federal government has long operated an economic policy of Extraction Migration.

This colonialism-like policy extracts vast amounts of human resources from needy countries and uses the imported workers, renters, and consumers to grow Wall Street and the economy. In December 2022, for example, Mayorkas added roughly one low-wage, work-ready Latino or Asian migrant for every American who turned 18 that month.

The migrant inflow has successfully forced down Americans’ wages and also boosted rents and housing prices. The inflow has also pushed many native-born Americans out of careers in a wide variety of business sectors and contributed to the rising death rate of poor Americans.

The population inflow also reduces the political clout of native-born Americans, because it allows elites — including New York Times editors and writers — to divorce themselves from the needs and interests of ordinary Americans.

A 54 percent majority of Americans say Biden is allowing a southern border invasion, according to an August 2022 poll commissioned by the left-of-center National Public Radio (NPR). The 54 percent “Invasion” majority included 76 percent of Republicans, 46 percent of independents, and even 40 percent of Democrats.

Thirty-five percent of Americans said immigration makes the United States “Worse off,” while 31 percent said immigration makes the U.S. “Better off,” according to a July 2022 poll of 1,500 citizens.

Biden Border Crisis: Title 42 Expulsions Drop Dramatically

The Biden administration has dramatically decreased the use of Title 42 expulsions on the southern border, a new report from the Federation for American Immigration Reform found.

Title 42, a measure that is used to expel illegal migrants who are coming from countries where communicable diseases are present, has been a target of the Biden administration. While President Biden has not yet been able to end the program altogether, with multiple court rulings upholding it, they have dramatically decreased the usage of the measure.

A new report from FAIR reveals that the Biden administration “has reduced the program’s overall usage by more than 75 percent since taking office and exempted many classes of illegal crossers.”

The report also explains that if the policy were to end, we could expect a surge of illegal entry attempts. FAIR notes that if the program ends, “apprehensions at the Southern border could reach up to 18,000 individuals daily – or more than 500,000 each month.”

But the report reveals other concerning findings as well. The number of encounters with those on the terrorist watch list has also surged.

“The number of individuals listed on the federal Terrorist Screening Database who are apprehended between ports of entry has ballooned from around three in a typical year prior to the Biden administration, to nearly 100 in Fiscal Year 2022,” FAIR notes.

In fact, FAIR states that the number of apprehensions of suspected terrorists is on track to surpass 150 in fiscal year 2023.

The organization’s report also contends that “The first two years of President Joe Biden’s administration have ushered in a systematic dismantling of the American immigration enforcement system,” with many of the “positive changes made during the previous administration” being reversed.

In fact, FAIR charges that the Biden administration “has launched new policies that encourage and even directly facilitate illegal immigration.”

Biden claims border crisis is improving. He's lying

During the State of the Union speech, President Joe Biden tried to claim that the U.S. southern border is improving, despite the fact that it has gotten significantly worse.

Under the Biden administration, illegal immigration has soared to unprecedented levels.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recorded over 250,000 encounters with illegal aliens in December 2022, the highest number recorded in U.S. history.

Based on December's numbers, the administration has now experienced ten straight months of 200,000+ illegal alien encounters.

The president claimed otherwise during his speech to Congress.

"We now have a record number of personnel working to secure the border, arresting 8,000 human-smugglers and seizing over 23,000 pounds of fentanyl in just the last several months," Biden said.

"Since we launched our new border plan last month, unlawful migration from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela has come down 97%," he added.

Former acting Department of Homeland Security secretary Chad Wolf responded to Biden's claims by saying that the president thinks seizing thousands of pounds of fentanyl is a "success."

Moreover, referencing the fentanyl crisis, Biden said, "Fentanyl is killing more than 70,000 Americans a year."  Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans ages 18–45.

In response, Republicans yelled "border!" in the House chamber, indicating that Biden should close the border, and one Republican shouted, "It's your fault."

When the GOP members of Congress called on him to close the border, Biden said, "You got it" but didn't follow up with any details.

During his address, the president laid out his plan to combat the fentanyl crisis.

"So, let's launch a major surge to stop fentanyl production, sale, and trafficking, with more drug detection machines to inspect cargo and stop pills and powder at the border," he said.

More than 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses in 2021.  Seventy thousand of those deaths came from fentanyl and other related compounds.

Former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan said that Congress must hold the Biden administration accountable.  "Congress needs to hold Joe Biden, [Homeland Secretary] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas, and everyone else responsible for this travesty accountable for what they've done to this nation," he said.

"This administration's policies are dangerous and inhumane, and the new majority in Congress better get serious about doing something to stop them.  We are quickly running out of time to fix this — act now, show some spine, or demonstrate that you care about border security to the same extent the left does," Homan added.

The president's claim that illegal immigration has gone "down" is false.  Under his administration, illegal immigration has reached its highest number in decades.

9 Most Ridiculous Claims Biden Made During State of the Union Address

Getty Images
February 8, 2023

Though he reportedly spent weeks rehearsing, President Joe Biden made a number of clumsy, strange, or outright ridiculous claims during his State of the Union address Tuesday night. Here are the top nine:

1. Cashiers at Burger Joints Need To Sign Non-Competes

Biden took credit for banning burger joints like McDonald’s from forcing employees to sign non-compete agreements. "So a cashier at a burger place can’t cross the street to take the same job at another burger place to make a couple bucks more," he said. Republicans balked.

"They just changed it because we exposed it," Biden retorted. "That was part of the deal guys, look it up."

The president is apparently referring to his July 2021 Executive Order, which encouraged the Federal Trade Commission "to ban or limit non-compete agreements."

Most fast-food chains have never made any such requirement of their workers, though some did prevent them from working at nearby franchise locations. During his 2020 presidential campaign, Biden made frequent use of this talking point, even earning the rebuke of left-leaning fact checkers.

"Get your facts straight, Jack!"

2. Paul Pelosi Was Attacked Because of Election Deniers

Biden tied the brutal assault of 82-year-old Bay Area resident Paul Pelosi to the rhetoric of election deniers. "Just a few months ago, unhinged by the Big Lie, an assailant unleashed political violence in the home of the then-speaker of this House of Representatives, using the very same language that insurrectionists who stalked these halls chanted on January 6th," he said.

David DePape, a deranged 42-year-old who reportedly lived inside a school bus, attacked Pelosi with a hammer inside his San Francisco home just days before the 2022 midterms. He has presented conflicting reasons for the attack since his arrest, including government corruption and the reduction of individual liberties. While legacy media tried to paint DePape as a right-wing extremist, his son told the Daily Mail that his father was a "progressive" and "hardly a right-wing conservative."

3. COVID Shut Down Businesses and Closed Schools

Biden in his prepared remarks blamed an airborne virus for having "shut down our businesses" and "closed our schools," when referring to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In reality, politicians chose to initiate lockdowns and stay-at-home orders to "slow the spread" of the coronavirus beginning in March 2020. While some Republican governors like Ron DeSantis (R., Fla.) reversed course within months, Democratic governors and lawmakers kept lockdown orders and mask mandates in place for years, damaging many small businesses and harming children’s educations.

Biden has still not lifted the federal emergency declaration for COVID-19, which is set to expire on May 11.

4. Republicans Want To Get Rid of Social Security

"Instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share," Biden said, "some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset."

The president was referring to an ongoing debt ceiling fight with Republican lawmakers, in which the Republican Party has floated various spending cuts to avoid a default. But House speaker Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) has said that cuts to both Medicare and Social Security are "off the table." Many Republicans also stood and applauded when Biden pledged to not cut either program.

5. Jill Biden, Ed.D., Came Up With an Obama-Era Education Slogan

Biden credited his wife, "Dr." Jill Biden, with having coined the expression: "Any nation that out-educates us will out-compete us."

She did not come up with it. The expression has been used before by Biden’s former boss, Barack Obama. During his first year in office, the former president remarked, "In a world where countries that out-educate us today will out-compete us tomorrow, the future belongs to the nation that best educates its people."

Cameras caught Biden’s wife cheating with more than her words at the beginning of the speech last night, when the first lady stole a kiss from second gentleman Doug Emhoff.

6. Biden Takes Credit for Changing the Conversation on China

"Before I came to office," Biden noted in his address, "the story was about how the People’s Republic of China was increasing its power and America was failing in the world. Not anymore."

Former president Donald Trump has often been credited with changing U.S. policy toward China. Under Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, his administration cracked down on Chinese espionage campaigns and moved to ban TikTok.

Biden made no mention that a Chinese spy balloon traversed the United States just days before his State of the Union.

7. Biden Talks Up Smoking Trees

In apparently off-the-cuff remarks about climate change, Biden said that "more timber has been burned [due to wildfires] that I have observed from helicopters than in the entire state of Missouri." He also blamed global warming for "floods and droughts."

Leaving aside for the moment whether the president has indeed observed wildfires from a helicopter, Biden may just have been mixing up his words, as he’s been prone to do. His administration last July greenlit more than 200 helicopters to respond to wildfire incidents, according to the White House.

The claims follow a long tradition of liberals using debatable scientific results to push their agenda. Biden’s prepared remarks, for instance, touted his administration’s green energy initiatives as a response to the wildfires.

"We’re building 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations installed across the country," he said. "And helping families save more than $1,000 a year with tax credits for the purchase of electric vehicles and energy-efficient appliances."

8. America Needs Oil for ‘At Least Another Decade’

As part of a reelection campaign preview, Biden floated the idea that America might "need oil for at least another decade."

The apparent olive branch to the oil and gas industry is far from reassuring, given the vast economic and social repercussions of abandoning fossil fuels in just 10 years' time. The shift would threaten jobs, food supply chains, and the entire global economy. Most progressives are pushing for the United States to have net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the earliest.

Early in the pandemic, lefties loved to suggest that a government-forced reduction in travel by fossil fuels could transition to a permanent change. If they stay in power, that idea could go up like a Chinese spy balloon over the continental United States.

9. Nobody Wants to Be Xi

In another unscripted remark, Biden said, "Autocracies have grown weaker, not stronger. Name me a world leader who changed places with Xi Jinping. NAME ME ONE! NAME ME ONE!"

The attempt to ape his predecessor’s tough talk on malign foreign powers left more than a few pundits scratching their heads. The reference apparently reaffirmed Biden’s commitment to protecting the fate of democracy amid the rise of authoritarian powers—namely, China, which last week flew unimpeded over the nation to gather intelligence on U.S. military bases.

In fact, tyrants from Kim Jong-un to Vladimir Putin and Kamala Harris would probably kill to have Xi’s absolute power and cult of personality.

At least one person seemed to get what Biden was saying: Lincoln Project alum Tom Nichols, who said Biden’s geopolitical ad lib "was great" for "wonks" like himself.

"I guess I just got it on an intuitive level: 'Who'd want to be riding that tiger.' We spend so much time embiggening China when in fact their leaders have to sweat out every damn day and pray for enough growth to keep them in power."

Whatever that means.

(CNSNews.com) - President Joe Biden's State of the Union Address was "divisive, it was angry, it was out of touch and it was fundamentally dishonest," Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told Fox News's Sean Hannity Tuesday night.

"Throughout the speech Biden would periodically just scream out randomly. He reminded me of a crotchety old guy on his front porch screaming at the kids, get off my lawn," Cruz said:

"And it was deliberately dishonest. It was designed -- you know, Biden could have taken this moment to acknowledge we just had an election, the American people elected a Republican majority. The American people are unhappy with the direction of this country -- two-thirds of the American people believe we're on the wrong track.

"Inflation's out of control, crime's out of control, the southern border's out of control. He could have acknowledged all that and said we're going to change course. He didn't do that. He doubled down on the same failed policies.

"And let me focus on three of the most dishonest things he said:

"Number one, he stood up and said, support my plan to secure the border and to stop fentanyl. And literally, the chamber began laughing, because Joe Biden made a political decision (to) have open borders; the result is the worst illegal immigration in the history of our country and the worst fentanyl crisis this country has ever faced, with over 100,000 overdoses each year. And he doesn't intend to change that, yet he is claiming he wants to secure the border.

"A second big lie he had was when he said that the world knows now that the Biden White House and he's tough on China. You know, Sean, as you pointed out, the whole world just finished laughing at the president when, for over a week, a Chinese spy satellite, a spy balloon, conducted espionage on our military bases, while the president impotently wrung his hands and did nothing.

"And then finally, you mentioned this lie as well, when he demagogued on Republicans want to take away Social Security and Medicare. It's the classic Democrat lie -- they are going to throw granny off the cliff. Again, the entire chamber, at least half the chamber, began laughing because it's fundamentally false. We should be strengthening and preserving Social Security and Medicare.

"But I'll tell you when Biden stood up and said we are going to stand up for seniors, there is no group in America who has been hurt more under Joe Biden than seniors. With rampaging inflation, the cost of rent and food and electricity skyrocketing, seniors are getting hammered, and their retirement has dropped 20 or 30 percent. For him suddenly to claim to be a champion of seniors is profoundly out of touch with the failures of his policies."

Cruz said he doubt Joe Biden will be the Democrat presidential nominee in 2024, however much he may want to be. "I think Democrats recognize he is too old. And his policies have failed," Cruz said.

Survey: Biden’s State of the Union Speech Received Lower ‘Very Positive’ Ratings than Predecessors

President Joe Biden’s State of the Union (SOTU) speech received lower “very positive” ratings than his predecessors’ speeches — including former President Donald Trump’s — a CNN survey found.

According to CNN’s survey, 72 percent reported feeling at least somewhat positive about Biden’s speech, and of those, 38 percent felt “very” positive.

However, that is lower than the average for past presidents. Trump’s SOTU speech average, for example, saw 74 expressing a positive view, but of those, 54 percent felt “very” positive about it, compared to the 38 percent who said the same of Biden’s Tuesday speech.

Further the average of those who viewed former President Barack Obama’s SOTU speeches and former President George Bush’s speeches as “very” positive were 50 percent and 53 percent, respectively. Additionally, an average of 54 percent viewed former President Bill Clinton’s SOTU speeches “very” positively as well.

The survey found most Democrats, 62 percent, having a “very” positive reaction to Biden’s speech. Biden also saw positive ratings from those 65 and older, with 52 percent viewing the address as “very” positive. However, the 80-year-old failed to garner the same reaction among other generations, as just 21 percent of those 45 or younger reported a “very” positive reaction to the speech.

State of the Union addresses rarely have major, lasting impact on presidents’ approval numbers, particularly in recent years. But Biden’s speech did bolster confidence in his policies among some who tuned in. Following the speech, 71 percent of speech watchers said they felt the policies Biden proposed would move the country in the right direction, versus 29 percent who said they would move things in the wrong direction.

In a survey conducted before the speech, those same people were closer to evenly split (52 percent right direction, 47 percent wrong direction).

The biggest movement came among those who were skeptical of Biden to begin with. Among those who said in the pre-speech survey that they disapproved of the way Biden is handling his presidency, just seven percent said before the speech that they thought Biden’s proposed policies would move the country in the right direction, rising to 45 percent post-speech. And among political independents, the share saying Biden’s policies would move the country in the right direction rose from 40 percent pre-speech to 66 percent afterwards.

The CNN survey, conducted by SSRS, was taken among 552 U.S. adults who watch the president’s address. It has a +/- 5.7 percent margin of error.

Biden’s speech featured several moments of note, as he mistakenly referred to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) as minority leader, asserted freedom from the grip of the coronavirus without mentioning his attempts to prolong it via mask and vaccine mandates, and paused at one point after Republicans shouted “secure the border” during the address.

Biden Sabotaged State of the Union With Too Many Lies

Too many words and too many lies.

Some records are good, others are bad.

Many viewers sitting through Biden’s State of the Union address noted his rushed delivery. I wrote, “His pathetic rant, breathy, rushed, angry.”

One reason for the rushed delivery is that he was trying to get in too many lies.

Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday set the record for most words spoken at a such a speech in six decades, beating the former lead by just one word.

Biden spoke 9,191 words, which is one more word than then-President Clinton’s 1995 State of the Union, according to a count

Too many words and too many lies.

If Biden’s people hadn’t insisted on shoving so much stuff into his State of the Union address, he could have delivered it more effectively and in a more measured fashion.

And if Biden wasn’t acting like a puppet, he would have told the speechwriters to cut some material so he could deliver it more effectively.

The State of the Union showed what Biden is.

Trial Ballon: Biden Previews Reelection Campaign in One-Sided Appeal for Bipartisanship

POTUS vows to protect American sovereignty after letting Chinese spy balloon traverse entire country

February 8, 2023

President Joe Biden's second State of the Union address was his first with a Republican majority in the House, which is probably why he began the speech by touting his belief in bipartisan cooperation. It was also his last State of the Union address before the 2024 campaign season gets underway, which explains his conflicting efforts to pick fights with Republicans while attempting to channel the populist spirit of his former (and potentially future) political adversary Donald Trump.

Tuesday's speech offered a preview of Biden's soon-to-be-announced reelection campaign, waving the banner of bipartisanship like a matador's cape. He urged Republicans to help him build on the "historic" progress of his first two years in office, when Democrats controlled both houses of Congress.

"To my Republican friends, if we could work together in the last Congress, there's no reason we can't work together and find consensus on important things in this Congress as well," Biden said. "Let's finish the job."

Knowing full well that such bipartisan cooperation is unlikely to materialize—as evidenced by the repeated jeers from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R., Ga.) and others—Biden's "finish the job" refrain is best understood as an appeal to American voters to reelect him in 2024 and restore Democratic power in Congress so they can enact their controversial agenda without Republican support.

Biden delivered his address to Congress with the confidence of a president who has the luxury of forgoing the bitter primary fight Republicans are about to wage against themselves. He positioned himself as a sensible moderate, standing above the fray. "The people sent us a clear message," he said. "Fighting for the sake of the fighting, power for the sake of power, conflict for the sake of conflict, gets us nowhere."

It's a message that presumably polls well, along with some of Biden's other proposals that might be described as soft-core Trumpism. Making the country great again by reviving the manufacturing sector and increasing our consumption of domestic goods. Taking on "powerful interests" while protecting Social Security and Medicare. Restoring national "pride" as part of a "blue-collar blueprint to rebuild America" that invests in "places and people that have been forgotten," while promising not to raise taxes on the Democratic Party's base of urban professionals making between $300,000 and $400,000 a year. "Americans are tired of being played for suckers," he said.

Biden won the 2020 Democratic primary in part because he refused to entertain the thought that professional pundits and other left-wing activists knew anything about what normal Americans actually want. That doesn't mean he is actually a sensible moderate who stands above the fray and tells it like it is. Contrary to what he claimed in his speech, inflation is not "coming down." (Its growth has merely slowed.)

COVID-19 didn't harm a generation of American children by keeping schools closed on his watch. Democratic politicians and their union allies did that. American concerns about rising crime are unlikely to be assuaged by blaming the pandemic. It's mathematically impossible to reduce the deficit over the long term while hiking spending on all the goodies Democrats want to fund. It's unclear how letting a Chinese spy balloon traverse the country is protecting America's "sovereignty."

We have a long year and a half ahead of us. Polling suggests most Americans, including most Democrats, don't want Biden to run again. Nevertheless, the Democratic Party lacked a viable alternative to the first octogenarian president in U.S. history, and Biden refused to step aside. Now they're stuck with him. And unless Republicans get their act together, we are too.

Read The White House Talking Points for Biden’s Big Speech

Biden touts his accomplishments and 'historic progress' in talking points obtained by the Free Beacon

February 7, 2023

President Biden’s third State of the Union address will center on the theme "finish the job," according to White House talking points obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

"President Biden ran for office for three main reasons: to rebuild the backbone of the country, to unite the country and to restore the soul of the nation. In the State of the Union, he’ll say that we need to finish the job," the document reads.

The eight talking points focus on a variety of areas where Biden is pledging to "finish the job," including rebuilding the economy, building clean energy, and combating gun violence. The outline notes that the step mother of Tyre Nicholas, whose recent death caused a wave of anti-police protests, will join First Lady Jill Biden as a guest at tonight’s speech.

The president will also discuss how his administration can "invest in America" without cutting runaway entitlement spending "by finally making the largest corporations and wealthiest Americans begin [to] pay their fair share."

The outline suggests that Biden’s third State of the Union will focus less on partisan differences than some of his previous addresses. The president is widely expected to announce that he will seek reelection in the coming weeks, and many are viewing this speech as an unofficial kickoff of his 2024 campaign.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

The talking points can be read below:

Fact Check: Biden Claims ‘Unlawful Migration’ Dropped by 97 Percent

3:16

CLAIM:  President Joe Biden claimed to have cut “unlawful” migration by 97 percent.

VERDICT: Mostly False

Joe Biden used his State of the Union speech to claim he has gotten the U.S. border back under control, saying, “Since we launched our new border plan last month, unlawful migration from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela has come down 97 percent.”

Biden’s narrow focus on just four countries in one month obscures his larger record of encouraging massive illegal migration through a variety of quasi-legal loopholes and programs.

The claimed reduction for the four countries ignores the many other national populations that Biden is allowing easy access into the United States, where they are given “parole” or unfettered access to U.S. jobs while they maintain years-long requests for asylum.

The claim also ignores Biden’s creation of a hidden “parole pathway” that is importing at least 50,000 economic migrants per month into the jobs needed by Americans who have seen their wages and opportunities decline for many years. That pipeline includes 30,000 people from the four countries.

That massive pipeline alone — without any of the waived-through illegals — can boost the delivery of job-seeking migrants into the United States by at least 60 percent above the roughly one million set by Congress in 1990.

Overall, Biden’s doorways are adding almost one migrant for every American who turns 18 each year, or almost three times the level set by Congress’s laws in 1990.

That Biden-engineered inflation of the labor supply will help investors and Wall Street by cutting market wages for Americans and by driving up the market price of the housing needed by young Americans and American families.

The Los Angeles Times described on February 5 how one Cuban was whisked through the new parole pipeline into the U.S. job market:

In barely a week, 25-year-old engineer Marcos Marzo went from riding his small electric motorcycle past the low buildings of Havana’s Vedado district to traveling the mega-highways of Florida, amazed by the towering high-rises and giant supermarkets.

A close relative told Marzo on Jan. 21 that he had applied online to sponsor the young engineer’s trip to Florida as required by the new parole program for Cuban migrants set up by the Biden administration. The next day the sponsorship had been confirmed and the day after that it was approved.

With his printed authorization in hand and a small blue suitcase, Marzo climbed aboard a plane to Hialeah, Fla., last Friday, shaken by the speed of it all.

Meanwhile, 20 Republican state officials are arguing in court that Biden’s parole pipeline is illegal.

The reality of migration-imposed wage cuts on Americans is fully recognized by investors and deeply unpopular among voters. For example, by 50 percent to 22 percent of Americans agree companies “should raise wages and try harder to recruit Americans even if it causes the prices of their products to rise,” according to a July 2022 poll by YouGov.com.

New York Taxpayers Give $2.1 Billion to Illegal Immigrants with Large Sums Lining Pockets of Landlords

New York taxpayers spent $2.1 billion on a program to support illegal immigrants, with much of the money going to landlords, a recent report from the Urban Institute reveals.

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) explains that the report from the Urban Institute centered around the Excluded Workers Fund (EWF), which provided funds to illegal immigrants who had been excluded from unemployment insurance programs due to their illegal status. Much of the money ended up in the hands of landlords.

The EWF had two benefit levels: a one-time payment of $15,600, which CIS notes was received by 99 percent of beneficiaries, or $3,200 for the other beneficiaries. CIS also clarifies, “Those with the smaller amounts did not have to meet a different set of requirements; rather, they simply had less plausible applications.”

Much of the money ended up in the hands of landlords of illegal immigrants. One section of the Urban Institute report highlights “Areas where Excluded Workers Fund Recipients Spent the Majority of Their Funds.” It went on to note that much of the money was used to pay overdue or back rent, or to pay ongoing rent.

Meanwhile, CIS points out, “With a lump-sum benefit of $15,600 the state could buy one-way air tickets (for a few hundred dollars for most of the recipients, who were from Mexico or Central America) and have plenty left over to restore the migrants involved to legal and prosperous status in their homelands.”

“Think what a lump sum of $15,000 or so could do for an alien from, say, El Salvador, where the annual per capita income is $4,134,” the report from CIS adds.

While New York uses taxpayer dollars to fund illegal immigrants, rents have spiked for American citizens. Half of American renters spend more than 30 percent of their pre-tax income on rent.

Breitbart News has documented the effects of mass immigration on rent prices. While rents rose by 3.6 percent per year during President Donald Trump’s low-migration term, they rose by 8.7 percent in 2021 and 9 percent in 2022 as a huge inflow of roughly 3 million southern migrants came into the country under President Biden.

EXCLUSIVE: Biden Admin Flies Honduran Migrants Home Under Title 42

According to a source within CBP, the Biden Administration will begin flying Honduran migrants home pursuant to Title 42. The source says the flights begin this week and could further reduce migrant crossings at the southwestern border.

The plan adds to prior expansion of the Title 42 COVID-19 authority announced in January, which said that Cubans and Nicaraguan migrants were subject to removal. In October, the administration first expanded the program by including Venezuelans.

The expansions resulted in an immediate, noticeable reduction in migrant border crossings. In January, migrant border crossings fell by almost 60 percent when compared to December. Border Patrol agents in the nine southwest border sectors apprehended approximately 130,000 migrants during the reporting period. This is down from 220,000 in December 2022.

In a White House briefing on Monday, spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre highlighted the reduction: “We still have more work to do … but unlike Republicans in Congress who simply pull political stunts and try to get in the way, we’ve got an actual plan, and as you see, our plan is indeed working.”

The source told Breitbart Texas the plan to expand the use of Title 42 as a deterrent to illegal migration is an acknowledgement by the Biden White House that consequences applied at the time of crossing are effective. This expansion of Title 42 and the addition of flights to Honduras are straight from the playbook of the Trump administration, the source added.

According to the source, ICE removal flights bound for Central and South America are taking off with increasing frequency. On Tuesday, flight tracking resources showed several ICE removal flights were airborne and en route to El Salvador and Ecuador from Laredo, Texas. Another flight departed El Paso Tuesday morning with a planned stop in Guatemala.

The expansion of Title 42 to Cubans and Nicaraguans began shortly before the announcement of President Joe Biden’s visit to Mexico City for the North American Leader’s Summit in January. The travel itinerary included a brief, first-time visit to the border in El Paso amid a changeover of leadership within the U.S. House of Representatives.

Randy Clark is a 32-year veteran of the United States Border Patrol. Prior to his retirement, he served as the Division Chief for Law Enforcement Operations, directing operations for nine Border Patrol Stations within the Del Rio, Texas, Sector. Follow him on Twitter @RandyClarkBBTX.

As Breitbart News reported, the latest projections estimate that Biden will set another illegal immigration record this year with 2.6 million border crossers and illegal aliens being apprehended. This figure does not include any of the known and unknown got-away illegal aliens who successfully made their way into the U.S. interior.

As Harvard’s George Borjas has shown, unauthorized immigration reduces the wages of American workers by more than $100 billion a year.  The poorest American workers, and those with the least education, are the most affected.

Immigration Parole Explained
Executive branch usurping congressional authority

Follow Parsing Immigration Policy on RicochetApple PodcastsAmazon MusicSpotifyStitcherGoogle Podcasts or use the podcast's RSS Feed

Washington, D.C. (February 2, 2023) – In early January the Biden administration, without the approval of Congress, announced a new immigration program, granting parole to 360,000 foreign nationals from Haiti, Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua. In this week’s episode of Parsing Immigration Policy, the Center for Immigration Studies’ Andrew Arthur joins host Mark Krikorian to put this Biden expansion of parole authority in context, citing the creation of the parole authority, later congressional limitations, and historical use by the executive.

The Biden administration continues to abuse parole authority at an ever increasing rate. Parole was established by Congress to provide authorization for the executive – in very narrow circumstances – to allow foreign nationals into the country who are inadmissible by law. Over the last two years, a Democratic-controlled Congress limited the amount of detention space for illegal aliens at the request of the Biden administration, which then used the lack of space as an excuse to release illegal migrants into the country who are mandated by law to be detained.

Without action from Congress, states have had to take on this executive overreach in court, protecting the separation of powers outlined in the Constitution. But the Biden administration began the new parole program despite two court challenges to the executive abuse of parole, Texas v. Biden and Florida v. United States. Now the administration is being sued by 20 states for its latest parole program, in Texas v. DHS.

State court cases have brought the third branch of government, the judicial branch, into the immigration policy arena despite SCOTUS being very clear that immigration policy is the role of the legislative branch. Will Congress cede its authority on immigration to the executive? Will the new Republican House majority cut off funding for all parole programs?

In his closing commentary, host Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center, draws attention to the case of an Iranian national who was apprehended trying to cross the border in the trunk of a car. There has been conflicting information on whether he is on a terror watch list, but Krikorian explains that it doesn’t really matter – either way, Iranians being smuggled across the border represent a national security problem.

Democrat Border Policy: Let Business Hire Foreign Workers

Multiple Democrats used a Wednesday hearing to justify President Joe Biden’s lax border by arguing CEOs are entitled to hire more foreign workers.

“I don’t know about you all, but every CEO I talk to says we need a labor force,” Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX) declared during the day-long hearing of the House judiciary committee. “I have had CEOs from different parts of the country telling me “Can we have some of the asylum seekers in our community because we can’t get anybody to go to work?'” she added.

“Who brought food to our grocery stores and delivered goods to our doors?” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Ca) said about illegal migrants who comprise a small part of the nation’s food and transportation industries. “I want to say ‘Thank you for your courage — cur country is better off for having you here.'”

Congress must “make sure that we have the workforce that we need,” said Rep. Deborah Ross (D-NC). “In my State of North Carolina, that workforce comes from all corners of the world, but has insecurity about whether or not they’re going to be able to stay and whether or not their children are going to be able to stay,” she said, without mentioning the many American graduates who have been sidelined by the Fortune 500’s million-plus visa workers.

In contrast, GOP members of the committee strongly denounced Biden’s loose border, including GOP legislators who spotlighted Biden’s growing pocketbook damage to ordinary, non-political American families.

“The reality is that Joe Biden has enabled the largest human and drug trafficking operation in U.S. history,” said Harriet Hageman (R-WY), who defeated former Rep. Liz Cheney. Hageman continued:

It is the poorest US citizens who suffer the most when the government refuses to enforce our immigration laws …  with overextended services, lack of affordable housing, and the question of wages. This tragedy is not only man-made, it is government mandated, which is a tragedy and a legacy of this administration.

“What the Democrats have never explained, is how our schools are made better by packing classrooms with non-English-speaking students,” said Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Ca). He continued:

How our hospitals are made more accessible by flooding emergency rooms with illegals demanding car … How our children are made more secure with fentanyl pouring across our borders, or how working families are helped by flooding the labor market with cheap illegal labor.

“This is the nightmare that the Democrats have unleashed upon our country,” McClintock said.

The hearing was called by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the chairman of the judiciary committee. Many GOP legislators spoke at the hearing, including Rep.Chip Roy (R-TX), Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX), Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX),

Since 2021, Biden has imported roughly 3 million southern migrants, alongside the inflow of legal immigrants and temporary visa workers, such as H-1B workers for the Fortune 500. That inflow has delivered at least one foreign worker for every two Americans who entered the workforce in 2021 and 2022.

That huge inflow skews the marketplace incentive for CEOs against hiring old or slow Americans, training young Americans, investing in labor-saving technology, or recruiting sidelined Americans in often-ignored heartland states and rural towns.

Throughout the hearing, Democrats repeatedly invited their one witness — the elected leader of El Paso County — to defend their current policy.

That policy lets employers hire compliant and cheap migrants to replace Americans in decent jobs, or to work in such low-productivity jobs that employees also need federal aid.

Migrants “are extremely passionate — I wish most of our citizens have the passion and the desire to be in our country like they do,” said Ricardo Samaniego, a business owner and a former hiring manager at a cement company and a government contractor.

Samaniego continued:

They’re very passionate about coming here, extremely passionate about working. They all say the same thing, that they’re very willing and able to work here in the United States.

Samaniego said the migrants are wanted by employers in many states:

We get a lot of calls from a lot of states and cities throughout the country that want migrants, and if we do the right thing, and we process them [quickly], we can get the migrants to them as well as to help our community.

Samaniego lamented the growing public opposition to the cheap-labor migration that pushes down Americans’ wages and drives up their rents:

When politics enters, it sort of distracts us from doing what we need to do. But I think you would think at this point, that necessity would give us the way towards getting job creations … I ask two questions from every migrant … secondly, “What is it that you did in your country?” And I can tell you [they are] plumbers, teachers, bricklayers, agriculture… there’s no one that has said “I’m just a laborer …” They’ve worked in doing things that we need … Just in El Paso, right there on the border …. we could use 20 percent, especially in the service industries and the entertainment industries.

Many migrants are released into the United States after claiming they deserve asylum. But Samaniego denounced Congress’ law directing government officials to detain migrants until their asylum claims are resolved, saying:

I’m appalled when somebody has an idea like detaining them as a solution, when that’s the most impractical thing you could probably do.

Few GOP legislators directly denounced the Democrats’ push for more cheap imported labor. But many GOP legislators lashed the Democrats for their dismissal of the fentanyl crisis.

That crisis is worsened by the cartels’ use of labor migration to help get drugs past the overstretched border guards in the official entryways and the desert.

“As [economist] Milton Friedman said, you can have either an open border or you can have a welfare state,” noted Hageman.  It “is just an economic reality that you can’t have both,” she added.

The federal government has long operated an unpopular economic policy of Extraction Migration. This colonialism-like policy extracts vast amounts of human resources from needy countries and uses the imported workers, renters, and consumers to grow Wall Street.

House Judiciary GOP Readies for Multi-Part Immigration Probe

The House Judiciary Committee will hold its first immigration hearing Wednesday as illegal crossings at the southern border continue to break records under President Joe Biden.

The committee’s hearing, called “Biden’s Border Crisis — Part One,” will kick off what is expected to be a series of hearings as the committee ramps up its scrutiny of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and works toward immigration reform legislation.

Locals impacted by the border crisis, including the stepfather of a 15-year-old boy who died from fentanyl and a county sheriff from southeastern Arizona, will testify at the hearing on Wednesday.

“You tell the people story, the human story about what’s happened now,” Judiciary chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) told Breitbart News.

Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, joined at left by Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., speaks as the panel holds an emergency meeting to advance a series of Democratic gun control measures, called the Protecting Our Kids Act, in response to mass shootings in Texas and New York, at the Capitol in Washington, Thursday, June 2, 2022. The “human story” is the first step for the committee in what is expected to be a three-pronged approach to addressing immigration problems, which have led to well over four million migrants flooding over the border illegally since Biden took office.

“We’ve had members talk about the implications on healthcare systems, education systems, on and on it goes in communities in their districts, which are not on the border,” Jordan observed.

The chairman said he was struck by a comment Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) made during last year’s annual consultation that the top Judiciary members in the House and Senate have with cabinet officials to assess refugee admission caps.

“First thing Durbin says is — he goes first on the question portion — and he says, ‘Last weekend I was at a shelter in Chicago where I saw 150 migrants from Texas because that governor sent people up here,’ and I’m like, holy cow, now the rest of the country is seeing what Texas and Arizona have been dealing with,” Jordan said.

In addition to highlighting how the border crisis is affecting everyday Americans — not just those in border states but those in states like Durbin’s in the Midwest — the other two prongs of the committee’s plan are to examine how the crisis is happening and to assess how to fix it.

Immigration reform, whether it comes in piecemeal or as an overhaul bill, typically must pass through the Judiciary Committee before the full House can consider it.

“We do anticipate passing immigration enforcement legislation out of our committee,” Jordan said. “It needs to pass if we’re actually going to fix the problem. Now, whether the Senate can pass it and Joe Biden would ever sign it, that’s a different story,” he added, alluding to the potentially insurmountable obstacle Republicans will face as they attempt to effectively legislate under a Democrat-controlled Senate and White House.

Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL) said, “I do indeed,” when asked by Breitbart News if he saw the Judiciary Committee passing an immigration bill.

In contrast to Jordan, a 16-year veteran of the committee, Moore is brand new to the panel this year and hoping its first hearing sheds light on the “humanitarian crisis” at the border.

“I’ve always believed a closed border is a compassionate border,” Moore said. “We’ve lost nearly 1,000 people crossing that border. We’ve had people left in vans. We’ve had people drown, and so it’s to bring attention to what we believe is a humanitarian crisis.”

In addition to legislative solutions, some on the committee, such as Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), are thirsting to hold DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Biden’s top border official, accountable for the crisis through impeachment, a rare move that would also fall under the jurisdiction of the Judiciary Committee.

Biggs has long sought to impeach Mayorkas and announced this week he plans to introduce impeachment articles against the border chief on Wednesday after the committee hearing.

Biggs’s articles will follow Rep. Pat Fallon (R-TX) introducing articles of impeachment against Mayorkas in early January and now-Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) calling on Mayorkas to resign in November while hinting at considering impeachment.

Mayorkas, for his part, has appeared unfazed by Republican pressure.

In response to McCarthy’s resignation calls, Mayorkas said in early January during an appearance on ABC’s This Week that he has no intention of leaving his role.

He said, “I’ve got a lot of work to do. I’m proud to do it, alongside 250,000 incredibly dedicated and talented individuals in the Department of Homeland Security, and I’m going to continue to do my work.”

Hawley: Biden Administration Is Attempting to Wipe Out Blue-Collar Economy, Culture

1:39

Tuesday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Ingraham Angle,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) argued remaking the American economy was an objective of President Joe Biden and the Biden administration.

According to the Missouri Republican lawmaker, part of that was ending blue-collar work.

“Senator, now, they said inflation was transitory,” host Laura Ingraham said. “They said Russia’s economy would crumble under the sanctions. Of course, China did the big backdoor bailout buying their oil, there ag, other countries followed suit. Now we can go on and on with their failed predictions. Have they gotten anything right here?”

“No, they haven’t, Laura,” Hawley replied. “But I will tell you this. They are getting what they wanted in an ultimate sense, which is they want to remake our economy. Joe Biden wants to remake our economy such that we don’t have any more blue-collar work in this country. We don’t have jobs for working people. All of those folks have to depend on the government.”

“And all we have instead is this climate green economy, where you have to have a fancy degree, where you have to get a white-collar job in a big city,” he continued. “And if you want to live in the middle of the country, there are no jobs for you. That’s what they want. They don’t like blue-collar workers. They don’t like blue-collar culture. And so they’re trying to wipe it out by changing our economy. And Laura, they are succeeding. We have got to stop them.

Washington D.C. (January 27, 2023) -- Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security declared victory over the border crisis this week as a result of recent policy changes. They may come to wish they hadn’t.

With Eric Adams and other sanctuary mayors bemoaning the effects on their cities from a tiny sliver of the border surge, the administration responded with Biden’s short drop-in at the border, and certain policy changes. Those measures, billed as “New Border Enforcement Actions,” included applying Title 42 automatic expulsions to border-jumpers from four countries that had been exempt: Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Haiti.

That’s good as far as it goes. The number of people from those four countries arrested crossing the border illegally has reportedly dropped more than 90 percent over the past week. Illegals from those four countries made up about 38 percent of all border arrests in December, so if they’re out of the picture then January could see the lowest number of apprehensions since February 2021, when the new administration sparked the border crisis. The Biden-friendly media duly reported this new storyline, and can now go back to ignoring the border.

Internal DHS Emails Sound Alarm: Illegal Aliens Assaulting Agents, Trying to Escape from Custody

Border crossers and illegal aliens have attempted “escaping” from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) custody and tried “to overrun drivers,” among other things, agency emails reveal.

The emails, obtained by the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, shed light on the chaotic day-to-day operations that agents must deal with at the U.S.-Mexico border since President Joe Biden implemented an expansive Catch and Release network.

In one email, Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz suggests that his agents and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are experiencing assaults at the hands of border crossers and illegal aliens as well as attempts to flee from custody.

“Our [Border Patrol] agents are being assaulted and we aren’t saying a word,” Ortiz wrote in a September 2021 email:

The bus contractors and pilots are dealing with Haitians escaping or trying to overrun drivers and we stay quiet. Agents and pro staff are working 14 hours days in difficult conditions, nothing said. We have to change the narrative or these stories will be the only story. [Emphasis added]

As Breitbart News reported, monthly illegal immigration to the U.S. hit a record high in December 2022 with more than 250,000 apprehensions at the southern border alone.

In addition, those illegal aliens who are successfully crossing the border reached nearly 88,000 last month. This figure comes after more than 73,000 illegal aliens successfully entered via the border in November 2022 — adding to the 600,000 illegal aliens who are known to have evaded Border Patrol in the last fiscal year.

These so-called “got-away” figures are on top of the tens of thousands of border crossers that Biden’s DHS is releasing into the U.S. interior every month. Over just a couple of summer months in 2021, for example, DHS released over 150,000 border crossers into American communities.

Though Biden’s DHS has drastically expanded its Catch and Release network at the border, the agency continues to hide the monthly number of border crossers who are directly released into the U.S. interior.

Migrants cross into the US from the Mexico through a gap in the border wall separating the Mexican town of Algodones from Yuma, Arizona, on May 16, 2022. - A US Federal judge is expected to make a ruling on health policy Title 42 which has been used at the …

Though Biden’s DHS has drastically expanded its Catch and Release network at the border, the agency continues to hide the monthly number of border crossers who are directly released into the U.S. interior.
