Black Chicagoans are increasing their calls to “turn Chicago red” in the coming elections in response to the growing border crisis that has flooded their neighborhoods with illegal aliens at the behest of “welcoming” Mayor Brandon Johnson.

Windy City residents Cata Truss and Mark Carter appeared on Fox & Friends First on Jan. 5 with the vow to vote for Republicans in 2024 after the massive failure of Mayor Johnson and the Chicago City Council to deal with the influx of illegal immigrants.

“The Democratic Party has always neglected to pay attention to the Black community,” Truss told Fox News host Todd Piro. “That is traditional, and because we have been so committed to supporting that party, they feel that they can continue to disrespect us, to marginalize us, to not hear our voices.”

Truss went on to slam Johnson, who only took office last May, for his obsession with sanctuary policies.

“If the Democratic Party is not going to listen to us, if the Democratic Party is not going to stand up for the people that have supported this party, then it’s time for us to make a change,” Truss added. “Now, let me just say this as well. The Republican Party is not spotless, but we do need to say at this point it’s time to do something different.”

Truss also warned her fellow citizens that you “can’t keep doing the same old thing and expecting a different outcome,” and she concluded that this is why it is “important for the citizens of Chicago to turn Chicago red.”

According to officials, some 27,000 illegal aliens have been sent to Chicago since August of 2022, and Chicago’s mayor has shifted as much as $138 million to vendors to care for the migrants

For his part, Mark Carter accused Mayor Johnson and the city council of trying to “do away” with black voters. “And so, we’re going to do away with the,” he added.

“It took a while for people to cozy up and warm up to Donald Trump. I heard his message the first time. I understood that the Democratic Party had done just that, done away with our humility. And so I am one of the ones who was already Team Trump a long time ago,” Carter exclaimed. “I knew that he would push that immigration plan to push these people back into the country to close the border, and Joe Biden did the exact opposite as soon as he got in office.”

Carter recently took to his X account to reiterate that Democrats are bringing in millions of migrants from south of the border to “replace” black Americans.

Carter and Truss are not lone voices in the Chicago neighborhoods. The “turn Chicago red” sentiment has been growing among many black activists of all ideologies as they react to the growing efforts of Mayor Johnson to denude their neighborhoods of resources that are then redirected to support free housing, education, health care, and food for illegal aliens.

In November, a group of black Chicagoans held a rally on the city’s South Side, torching the city government for taking resources away from them and giving it all to illegal aliens. This group also pledged to vote Democrats out of office.

One speaker slammed her elected officials, telling the city council, “We support the candidacy of Republicans, independents, and Democrats who oppose sanctuary city.”

“They are not representing us. They are representing everybody else but us,” she railed. “In illegal immigration, and everything else, we voted for you to get into these positions of power so that you can represent our interests. And we have concluded that you’re not representing our interests. And we are organized. We’re organizing to remove any politician, black, white, otherwise, if you’re not going to represent the interests of black people in the City of Chicago.”

Another group of protesters met in City Hall in December and revealed similar sentiments, with one woman saying people will no longer vote for machine Democrats and will seek out independents and even Republicans. Truss was also there.

“I have buyer’s remorse,” Truss said of voting for Johnson, adding, “For any independent candidate in the city of Chicago, any Green Party candidate in the city of Chicago, and any Republican candidate in the city of Chicago, now is your time, because we are done with the Democratic Party.”

Carter has been on the attack against Democrats for several years.

In 2020, he blasted the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement as being a “fraud.”

“This is the media creating this picture, this face, this imaginary — like the Wizard of Oz,” he said of the BLM movement.

“Right now one of the biggest misconceptions in the media is that every time something’s organized, they flip it under the Black Lives Matter banner,” he said of the media’s laziness to report the real issues in the black community.

“This so-called Black Lives Matter movement — they’re not in these communities. It’s all a hoax,” Carter insisted at the time.

SEN CHUCK SCHUMER HAS LONG WORED FOR THE DEMOCRAT PARTY'S MASS INVASION OF 'CHEAP' LABOR.

Bensman, author of last year’s Overrun: How Joe Biden Unleashed the Greatest Border Crisis in American History, explains that the administration’s policies opened the border wide for illegal aliens. Anticipating a surge of illegal aliens resulting from the May termination of Title 42, the Biden administration funneled hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into the country by enabling them to pre-schedule their “legal” entry through the CBP One app. A surge at the border occurred nonetheless. The overwhelming numbers of illegal border crossings and overworked agents also resulted in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) losing track of 85,000 unaccompanied alien children.

Democrats and their media allies are pressuring Republican leaders to endorse a $14 billion slush fund that would hide President Joe Biden’s migration flood during the 2024 election campaign.

“They ought to give me the money — I need to protect the border,” Biden told reporters on Jan. 2 about his “Emergency Supplemental” funding request.

But House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and other GOP leaders say the funding will be used to accelerate — not block — the inflow of Biden’s poor economic migrants during the 2024 campaign year.

“What the White House is proposing is more money to process and allow more illegals into the country,” Johnson told CNN host Jake Tapper on January 3. “We need to do the opposite of that.”

The funding fight is hidden from the public under the media’s skimpy coverage of Senate negotiations on border reforms and dramatic demands for aid to embattled Ukraine and Israel. Those negotiations have stalled amid the Democrats’ determination to protect their “parole” backdoor at the border, forcing the Democrats to step up their demands for the $14 billion.

In August, Breitbart News detailed the funding request, which includes at least $5.3 billion to expand migration.

In his first three years, Biden and his deputies have spent billions of Americans’ taxes to import — not exclude — at least six million migrants into the United States.

The funds — and the requested authority to transfer yet more funds — are intended to operate the network of quasi-government non-profits that help transport and shelter migrants into many cities around the nation. The request even asks for $800 million to operate new “Safe Mobility Offices” in Ecuador and other countries that are intended to help more migrants reach the U.S. border.

The extra funding is in addition to the redirected disaster aid included in the agency’s regular annual budget that continues from the prior year.

Years of prior funding have allowed the administration to establish a vast network of “controlled flow” aid camps for migrants, all the way from Panama to New York.

This NGO-run migration network — also dubbed the Northside Catch and Release Network — helps many of the migrants that are delivered to the border via the cartel-managed networks. The NGOs, such as Catholic Charities, also work with many U.S. employers and investors eager for more cheap labor, apartment-sharing renters, and taxpayer-funded consumers.

But in 2023 and 2024, the huge network has been swamped by Biden’s rising number of migrants. The crush has created squalid encampments in Mexico, budget cuts in New York, voter protests in Chicago, and migrant tents in Denver — even as millions of additional migrants are trekking northwards to Biden’s welcome.

The $14 billion bill is intended to quietly smuggle 2024 migrants through the country and to pay off cooperation by Democrat-run cities, said Jessica Vaughan, founder of the Immigration Accountability Project.

The requested billions are not enough to conceal Biden’s migrant flood from Americans in 2024, she added:

There’s not enough money, even in the $14 billion … with the numbers that are coming over right now. … People are seeing it, and they’re gonna keep seeing it. They’re going to see it in the schools. They’re going to see it in their emergency rooms, they’re going to see it in their housing costs. They’re going to see it everywhere.

Their children are going to come home and and talk about all the foreign languages being spoken. And if they’re, you know, if they happen to live in a suburban neighborhood and the house next door is rented out to four different families who are living there at the same time, they’re going to see that too.

“I think it’s going to have a huge impact on suburban America,” she said.

The damage from Biden’s migration is also being felt in small towns.

So Democrats are stepping up their demands for migration funding.

“States like Massachusetts are in desperate need of more support from the federal government to address this historic surge in migrant arrivals,” Democrat Gov. Maura Healey of Massachusetts, told the New York Times for a January 4 article about the issue. “We need Congress to act on President Biden’s budget that includes critical funding for border security and cities and states like ours.”

“I can tell you that the [$14 billion] money right now will help those cities that are struggling, whether it’s Eagle Pass or if we’re talking about Chicago, or if we’re talking about New York,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) told CNN. “I can guarantee you those mayors would not turn down the funding that the President has tried to push through and the Republicans refuse to do it,” she said.

The establishment media is mobilizing to help win the $14 billion for Biden.

The Washington Post joined on January 4, saying:

Thomas S. Warrick, a former DHS official who is now a senior fellow at the nonpartisan Atlantic Council, said the [$14 billion] cash injection is “absolutely vital” to keep the U.S. immigration system from breaking down further.

“A system that was already under enormous strain is now stretched to the point where even the most basic legal and humanitarian requirements can’t be met,” Warrick said.

“We need more resources,” [White House spokeswoman Karine] Jean-Pierre said. “House Republicans keep getting in the way of doing the work to deal with what we’re seeing at the border,” she said.

“You’re at the border today and I presume you’re seeing a very dire situation,” said CNN’s Tapper as he pleaded with Johnson:

Hardworking border agents … who can’t do their jobs with what they have. They need more money. They need more colleagues … they need more funding. How come the House has not yet touched this $14 billion supplemental request from the Biden administration? The White House is hammering you on it, why not take it up and help?

Why not pass the $14 billion supplemental bill that the President Biden has put before you to at least try to help with some of these issues?

“That won’t do a damn thing” to get the border under control, Johnson responded.

Johnson’s office released a report on January 5, saying:

Of the $14 billion request, just over $2.3 billion, or less than 17%, would actually go to Border Patrol operations. Of that funding, much of it falls within the parameters of managing the crisis – processing tents, medical services, consumables, etc. – that have little to do with actual border security and interior enforcement and more to do with processing illegal immigration into the interior as fast as possible, arguably to hide the humanitarian crisis from public view.In fact, a larger share of the Administration’s request, over $3 billion, would actually go to providing direct and indirect assistance to people coming here illegally, through NGOs or even direct cash assistance.

White House officials and senators who are negotiating a border deal have released no information about how much funding they will give to Biden’s deputies in 2024. The evidence, however, suggests that the Republican senators will not be able to get a deal acceptable to the GOP.

But many GOP leaders understand how Biden and his deputies will use the money.

“When we looked at this emergency supplemental … [we found it] continues to facilitate the mass migration that we see across our border,” Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) told a December 7 press conference. “It was yet more of a magnet to draw more and more people here!”

“Giving the Biden Admin more money to fuel its disastrous open-borders resettlement operation is insanity,” said Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN). “It would worsen the border crisis, not stop it,” he tweeted on October 20.

The funding will “offer ZERO actual border security while providing more money to process more people … & continue to rack up mountains of debt,” said a tweet by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX).

“We’re in serious, serious, dire straits as a nation and we have to address those things seriously,” Johnson told Tapper on January 3.

Mayorkas Dodges on How Many Migrants Are Released, ‘Would Not Surprise Me’ if It’s over 70% of Encounters

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas responded to a question on how many of the 300,000 people encountered at the border were released by stating that “we are limited in our detention capacity by the funding that Congress provides to us.” But he wouldn’t be surprised if the percentage released is north of 70%, but “when individuals are released, they are released into immigration enforcement proceedings. They are on alternatives to detention.”

Host Bret Baier asked, “Obviously, President Biden has just completed his third year in office. How many illegal immigrants has DHS released into the country from the border in that time?”

Mayorkas responded, “Bret, let me correct a misunderstanding. When somebody enters the country, we place them in immigration enforcement proceedings pursuant to immigration law. And if their claim for relief, their claim to remain in the United States succeeds, then, by law, they are able to stay here. And if it doesn’t succeed, we remove them.”

Baier then asked, “Just ballpark it, is it more than 500,000? More than 1 million? 2 million?”

Mayorkas answered, “Bret, it’s more than — it’s well more than a million per year, and it is precisely why we have said, since day one of this administration, that the immigration system that is so fundamentally broken needs to be fixed.”

Baier then asked, “But let’s say, last month, you had a new record set, 300,000 encounters by CBP. How many of those were released from detentions into the country?”

Mayorkas then said, “Bret, we are limited in our detention capacity by the funding that Congress provides to us. We have returned and removed a historic number of individuals. The numbers that we experienced in December [are] precisely why I traveled down to Mexico to speak with the president of Mexico, to encourage them that they enforce their southern border, that they enforce their laws along the migratory path, so that we reduce the number of individuals whom we encounter on our southern border. This is a regional challenge that requires regional solutions. It’s precisely why I traveled down to Mexico last week.”

Baier then followed up, “Would it surprise you to hear that CBP sources say that currently, they are releasing more than 70% of the migrants crossing every day, and sometimes more than that number? Higher than 70%, would that surprise you?”

Mayorkas responded, “It would not surprise me at all. I know the data. And I will tell you that, when individuals are released, they are released into immigration enforcement proceedings. They are on alternatives to detention. And we have returned or removed a record number of individuals. We are enforcing the laws that Congress has passed.”

Chicago Alderman: We Invited Migrants by Being a Sanctuary, ‘Nobody’ Thought It Would Lead to Current Situation

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America Reports,” Chicago Alderman Brian Hopkins acknowledged that city leaders did send a message that anyone could come by being a sanctuary city — although he doesn’t agree with sending that message — but nobody “had any idea that it would lead to this today” when the city became a sanctuary city in the 1980s and the current situation “was completely unpredicted and it’s completely unprecedented and nobody thought a sanctuary city would mean what it means.”

Co-host Sandra Smith asked, [relevant exchange begins around 3:30] “[D]idn’t leadership in your city say, we’re a sanctuary city, all are welcome, wasn’t that the message?”

Hopkins responded, “Yes, you’re not hearing that from me. I think if we had to vote all over again on authorization for whether Chicago is going to be a sanctuary city, I’m not sure we would be. In fact, we tried to put a referendum on the ballot in March coming up to ask the voters, do you want to be a sanctuary city? And the mayor and his team blocked that effort. So, we don’t know if there is political will to continue being a sanctuary city. But I will say this: Our status as a sanctuary city first was established way back in the ’80s. This is not new. We put this flag in the ground a long time ago. No one, at that time, had any idea that it would lead to this today. This was completely unpredicted and it’s completely unprecedented and nobody thought a sanctuary city would mean what it means.”

Chicago Alderman: Chicago Has to Try ‘to Close Its Own Borders’ Because Feds Didn’t Secure Border

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America Reports,” Chicago Alderman Brian Hopkins stated that the federal government has failed to secure the U.S.-Mexico border and now Chicago is “attempting to close its own borders to the constant flow of migrant buses and now private charter planes that are landing.”

Hopkins said, “Part of this is a response to the city attempting to close its own borders to the constant flow of migrant buses and now private charter planes that are landing. It’s happening at a time when we are not prepared, when we don’t have the resources that we’ve allocated, the social workers, the medical staff, the people who are there to try and take these migrants in. When they’re not working and a bus pulls up and hundreds of people disembark from buses, they have nowhere to go. We actually had a bus driver drop off 60 people at Sears Tower at about 11:00 at night, and he told them, oh, by the way, they’re expecting you in the lobby. Well, that was pure fabrication, and he just left them there, he pulled away and left them there. These are human beings, and they’re being treated like fodder. It’s unacceptable. So, we tried to get control of that, and as a result, the bus drivers found out they couldn’t drive into Chicago in the off hours, so they were dropping them off in the suburbs, leaving them at the commuter rail stations, and telling them to take a train in in the morning. So, the situation has gone from bad to worse and it’s just chaos out there.”

Later, co-host Sandra Smith asked, “Aren’t we talking about a massive crisis at the southern border from where these migrants are coming? And what is your message on the lack of security and the lack of securing the southern border on the part of the federal government?”

Hopkins responded, “Yeah, absolutely. The federal government has dropped the ball. I’ve made that clear, I’ve said that repeatedly since this crisis started. We, as a city, the municipal government of Chicago, are not equipped to handle this. We’ve never been equipped to handle this. We’re trying to do the best we can. But when this crisis started over a year ago, we went to the federal government immediately and said, we can’t do this, give us funding, give us support. We went to FEMA and basically came away empty-handed. So, that’s the source of my impatience now. We’ve been asking for assistance from the federal government to help this crisis on the ground and to secure the border in Texas and Arizona. And so far, neither has happened.”

NYC Mayor Eric Adams Sues Texas Bus Companies, Not Joe Biden, for Crippling Costs of Illegal Immigration

Mayor Eric Adams (D) is suing several Texas-based charter and bus companies for not covering costs associated with illegal immigration when busing border crossers and illegal aliens to New York City.

While President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) releases about 5,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into the United States interior every day, about 34,000 have arrived in New York City from Texas via buses contracted by Gov. Greg Abbott (R).

The migrant busing scheme has been widely successful for Abbott, allowing Texans to off the costs of record illegal immigration levels under Biden onto sanctuary cities like New York City, Chicago, Denver, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles.

On Thursday, Adams and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) announced a lawsuit against 17 charter and bus companies contracted by Texas to send border crossers and illegal aliens to New York City.

Adams argues that the bus companies ought to cover the costs of illegal immigration in New York City to the tune of about $708 million, a press release states:

Today’s suit seeks to recoup the hundreds of millions of dollars incurred to care for all these individuals, costs moving forward for any of those migrants still in New York City’s care, and costs for all those who are transported to New York City from Texas in the future as part of Governor Abbott’s plan. [Emphasis added]

Adams said Abbott’s migrant busing scheme is “an attempt to overwhelm our social services system” and accuses the bus companies of violating “state law by not paying the cost of caring for these migrants…”

“… that’s why we are suing to recoup approximately $700 million already spent to care for migrants sent here in the last two years by Texas,” Adams said. “Governor Abbott’s continued use of migrants as political pawns is not only chaotic and inhumane but makes clear he puts politics over people. Today’s lawsuit should serve as a warning to all those who break the law in this way.”

Likewise, Hochul said the bus companies — not the Biden administration — “should be on the hook for the cost of sheltering those individuals – not just passing that expense along to hard working New Yorkers.”

According to Adams, from April 2022 through December 2023, New Yorkers have been forced to spend $3.5 billion housing, feeding, and clothing nearly 165,000 border crossers and illegal aliens released into the U.S. interior by the Biden administration.

As a result, Adams is slashing city services for New Yorkers with a 20 percent cut in spending to afford services for border crossers and illegal aliens.

Mayorkas Won’t Commit to Not Using More Money for Catch and Release to Get ‘Needed’ Funds

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stated that the agency needs more money, but wouldn’t say if he’d accept a condition that the funds can’t be used to release migrants into the country to get the “needed” funds.

Host Bret Baier asked, [relevant exchange begins around 7:10] “But you have court dates now, Mr. Secretary, going as far as out as 2031. You’re talking about that. But when you say that Republicans won’t accept the extra funding, they have a problem with the funds being used to release and transport illegal immigrants around the country. So, Congress is listening right now. Would you accept the extra funding on the condition that the funds could only be used for detention and removal, but not release into the country?”

Mayorkas answered, “Bret, the funds are needed to provide the Department of Homeland Security with more Border Patrol agents. The funds are needed to provide the Department of Homeland Security with more technology. The funds are needed to provide our department with more detention space, to provide the Department of Justice with more immigration judges so justice can be administered more swiftly so we don’t have a six-year lapse between the time of encounter and a final ruling.”
