The president’s overall approval rating is currently at 30 percent, and only 34 percent approve of his job performance in Connecticut, according to a recent Civiqs survey.
The first lady was on a multi-state summer learning program tour with Cardona in Connecticut on Wednesday that later went through Michigan and Georgia.
The tour’s purpose was to highlight how the American Rescue Plan is funding summer education programs for children who fell behind in school during the pandemic.
Her husband, President Joe Biden, tested positive for the coronavirus the following day, but she continued on with the tour in Detroit and Athens, Georgia, on Thursday despite being in close contact with the president. She later tested negative.
Following the tour, the first lady then traveled to Wilmington, Delaware, while her husband stayed at the White House.
While the first lady was not seen wearing a mask at her event in Connecticut, she was later seen wearing a mask for the rest of the tour in Michigan and Georgia.
The first lady recently landed herself in some hot water after she compared Hispanic Americans to breakfast tacos. She later apologized for her remarks.
Jill Biden has joined her husband in suffering from abysmal approval ratings. She is currently sitting at a 34 percent approval rating, dropping 24 points since January 2021, according to a recent CNN/SSRS poll.

Democrats Try to Stop U.S. Citizenship Question from Being Added to Census
House Democrats are, again, trying to prevent a question asking United States residents if they are American citizens from being added to the Census in the future.
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee advanced a bill that would add red tape to the process of putting a U.S. citizenship question on any future census.
Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), chairwoman of the committee, said:
After the Trump Administration’s illegal efforts to weaponize the Census Bureau for political gain, it is clear we need stronger protections for this vital institution that impacts everything from congressional representation to the disbursement of public and private funding.
The bill would require the Commerce Secretary to certify that new questions for the census are researched, studied, and tested. Then, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) would have to submit a report to Congress on whether the new questions have been properly researched and studied.
Democrats first started on a hunt to block the U.S. citizenship question from being added to the 2020 Census after former President Trump announced in 2018 that he would add the question so as to secure an accurate count of all American citizens living in the U.S.
Immediately, congressional Democrats vowed to investigate the Trump decision. The move was taken through the federal courts as well, and the Supreme Court in a 5-4 opinion blocked the question from being added to the Census.

The Court made clear that the Commerce Department may add the U.S. citizenship question to the Census but that the manner in which the Trump administration did so was not reasonable.
Though Democrats repeatedly claimed that Trump was attempting to use the Census to suppress counting residents in blue states, the U.S. Census Bureau this year revealed that the agency undercounted five red states and overcounted six blue states in 2020.

More than 7-in-10 households headed by immigrants in the state of California are on taxpayer-funded welfare, a new study reveals.
The latest Census Bureau data analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) finds that about 72 percent of households headed by noncitizens and immigrants use one or more forms of taxpayer-funded welfare programs in California — the number one immigrant-receiving state in the U.S.
Meanwhile, only about 35 percent of households headed by native-born Americans use welfare in California.
All four states with the largest foreign-born populations, including California, have extremely high use of welfare by immigrant households. In Texas, for example, nearly 70 percent of households headed by immigrants use taxpayer-funded welfare. Meanwhile, only about 35 percent of native-born households in Texas are on welfare.
In New York and Florida, a majority of households headed by immigrants and noncitizens are on welfare. Overall, about 63 percent of immigrant households use welfare while only 35 percent of native-born households use welfare.
President Trump’s administration is looking to soon implement a policy that protects American taxpayers’ dollars from funding the mass importation of welfare-dependent foreign nationals by enforcing a “public charge” rule whereby legal immigrants would be less likely to secure a permanent residency in the U.S. if they have used any forms of welfare in the past, including using Obamacare, food stamps, and public housing.
The immigration controls would be a boon for American taxpayers in the form of an annual $57.4 billion tax cut — the amount taxpayers spend every year on paying for the welfare, crime, and schooling costs of the country’s mass importation of 1.5 million new, mostly low-skilled legal immigrants.
As Breitbart News reported, the majority of the more than 1.5 million foreign nationals entering the country every year use about 57 percent more food stamps than the average native-born American household. Overall, immigrant households consume 33 percent more cash welfare than American citizen households and 44 percent more in Medicaid dollars. This straining of public services by a booming 44 million foreign-born population translates to the average immigrant household costing American taxpayers $6,234 in federal welfare.

Republicans Negotiate with Democrats on Illegal Alien Farmworker Amnesty

A group of mostly west coast Republicans is negotiating with Democrats on a plan to give amnesty to potentially millions of illegal aliens who work on United States farms.
A report from National Public Radio (NPR) details how Sen. Mike Crapo (R-ID) is working with Sen. Michael Bennett (D-CO) on finalizing another version of the Farm Workforce Modernization Act to provide green cards, and eventually naturalized American citizenship, to as many as 2.1 million illegal aliens working on U.S. farms.
The American Farm Bureau Federation, the largest lobbying group for Big Agriculture, is deeply involved in the intricacies of the farmworker amnesty, which would also allow more United States farms to outsource agricultural jobs to foreign H-2A visa workers.

For over a year now, the top Senate negotiators on the bill – Democrat Michael Bennet of Colorado and Republican Mike Crapo of Idaho – have struggled to nail down a compromise for a handful of provisions. They’ve made progress, but the biggest hurdle is the lawsuit provision. It proposes to expand employee protections known as the Migrant and Seasonal Agriculture Workers Protections Act. As of last week, Senate negotiators have reached tentative deals on a few provisions that had been holding them up – proposals that they say would help save employers money amid rising costs. For example, they agreed to freeze H-2A wages at current levels for the next year, and they are nearing a deal that would allow year-around employers to hire more workers than what the House proposed. Crapo is not willing to put his name on a bill unless there is buy-in from a significant number of Republicans and unlocking support, or at least neutrality, from the Southeast is crucial, according to sources familiar with negotiations. [Emphasis added]
Reps. Mike Simpson (R-ID), Dan Newhouse (R-WA), and Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) have been lobbying fellow House Republicans on backing the farmworker amnesty and H-2A visa expansion.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), though, has repeatedly said that he will not bring any amnesty plan to the House floor if Republicans take back the chamber following this year’s midterm elections.
Last year, as Breitbart News reported, 30 House Republicans helped Democrats pass the farmworker amnesty which ultimately stalled in the Senate. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), the House GOP Conference Chair, was one of those 30 Republicans.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is one of the biggest backers of the farmworker amnesty and H-2A visa expansion.
These negotiations come after the Department of Justice released a 54-count indictment last year against 24 individuals, many of them illegal aliens, for operating a “modern-day slavery” scheme that utilized the H-2A visa program to traffic foreign workers into U.S. farm jobs — allegedly raping, kidnapping, and threatening them in the process.

California Makes History: First State in U.S. Giving Food Stamps to Illegal Aliens
The sanctuary state of California will make history by becoming the first state in the nation to give food stamps to illegal aliens.
This week, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced a budget deal with Democrat state legislators that includes providing food stamps, paid for by California’s taxpayers, to illegal aliens 55 and older — the first initiative of its kind in the United States.
An executive with the group Nourish California told the Fresno Bee that the policy is historic for the state, saying, “California is once again making history by removing xenophobic exclusions to our state’s safety net.”
Expansion of the state’s CalFresh food stamps program will cost California’s taxpayers more than $35 million and about 75,000 illegal aliens are expected to enroll every year.
The move comes as Newsom’s budget deal will also ensure that California is the first state in the nation to provide taxpayer-funded health insurance to all of its 3.3 million illegal aliens.
Offering taxpayer-funded health insurance to its entire illegal alien population, the largest in the nation, is expected to cost California’s taxpayers about $2.4 billion annually. The plan is scheduled to begin in 2024.
