Left-Wing New York, Denver, Chicago Mayors Join to Push Biden for More Money for Migrants, Blast Texas

The extreme, left-wing mayors of New York, Chicago, and Denver joined forces to demand that the federal government give them millions more in federal dollars to deal with the tidal wave of illegal aliens invading their cities while blasting Texas for sending some of those migrants.

New York’s Eric Adams, Chicago’s Brandon Johnson, and Denver’s Mike Johnston — Democrats all — met to cooperate on a statement urging President Joe Biden to put more resources at the fingertips of the left-wing cities, each of which claim to be “sanctuary cities.”

“We need the federal government to lean in and provide more financial assistance. All of our cities have reached the point where we are either close to capacity or nearly out of room, Chicago’s mayor exclaimed on Wednesday, according to Chicago’s WMAQ-TV.

“We expect the surge to intensify in the coming days and weeks,” Adams added. “We are calling for a federal declaration of emergency, financial support and a national resettlement strategy.”

“As Denver continues to see an increase of newcomers arriving in our city, many of whom are families with children who arrive in the middle of the night in below-freezing conditions, it’s clear that what the U.S. is currently doing is not working,” Denver Mayor Johnston exclaimed. “Our cities are working shoulder-to-shoulder to support newcomers, but it’s time for the federal government to increase work authorization, create a coordinated entry strategy, and provide more federal dollars to ensure cities can manage this crisis and help newcomers thrive.”

The three mayors said that between their locales, they have seen more than 80,000 illegal border crossers arrive in their “sanctuary” cities since August of last year.

The mayors are also taking action separately.

For his part, Mayor Adams just threw up new restrictions on buses entering the Big Apple. New rules have been enacted this week limiting the times buses can come into the city limits, the places where they can go to drop their passengers off, and the number of days a week that they may do so. The mayor’s restrictions were hastily passed on Wednesday.

Chicago’s mayor had already passed such restrictions two weeks ago, and his administration even began to impound buses entering the city to drop off illegal aliens, WLS-TV reported.

Finally, Denver’s mayor is even running contrary to his party’s usual hatred for religion by teaming with the Catholic Church to house illegal aliens in the Mile High City.

Meanwhile, the three mayors have also railed at Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for daring to ship a tiny number of the illegal immigrants he is faced with on a daily basis to places north.

In his Wednesday press release, Mayor Adams’ administration wrote, “As Texas Governor Greg Abbott triples down on efforts to use asylum seekers as political pawns, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston called for additional federal support to manage the national asylum seeker crisis.”

Adams later blasted Abbott, saying, “New York City has begun to see another surge of migrants arriving, and we expect this to intensify over the coming days as a result of Texas Governor Abbott’s cruel and inhumane politics.”

The Windy City’s Johnson also went on a tirade against Abbott and absurdly blamed the Texan for Joe Biden’s migrant crisis.

“The issue is not just how we respond in the City of Chicago, it’s the fact that we have a governor — a governor, an elected official — in the State of Texas that is placing families on buses without shoes, cold, wet, tired, hungry, afraid, traumatized, and then they come to the City of Chicago where we have homelessness, we have mental health clinics that have been shut down and closed, you have people that are seeking employment,” Johnson said during a press conference on Dec. 18.

“The governor of Texas needs to take a look in the mirror of the chaos he is causing for this country,” Johnson exploded. “This is not just a Chicago dynamic. He is attacking our country. The sensibility and civility of our country — he is undermining that.”

Clearly these three left-wing Democrat mayors feel Greg Abbott is “attacking the country” by sending to their cities the economic migrants whom Joe Biden allowed to freely break our laws and enter the country illegally.

The three mayors met at the same time the state of Texas is trying its own new ways to stem the tide of Joe Biden’s illegal migrants by enacting new rules to allow state and local police departments to arrest and detain homeless illegal aliens and deport them on their own authority.

But the measures have come too late in many ways. A recent look at the costs shows that in 2023, the millions of illegal aliens that are living in the United States have cost every American taxpayer nearly $1,200 each. In total, taxpayers were billed $150 billion this year to pay for illegal immigration.

Finally, according to Biden’s own Customs and Border Patrol, the agency has set a record high in the number of illegal aliens that officers have encountered on the border in a single month with a shocking 242,418 enforcement encounters for November.

Americans have donated more than $55 million dollars to Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s “Operation Lone Star” to help fund construction of a border wall in his state, which is being overwhelmed by illegal immigration.

“Join our historic efforts to secure the border,” the governor’s Operation Lone Star website requests, providing links to donation pages for border wall funding, funding to transport illegal aliens to so-called “sanctuary cities” outside the state who claim to welcome them, and border security funding.

A total of $56 million has been donated, as of December 8, 2023:

  • $55,427,025 to help fund the border wall,
  • $460,196 to help fund transportation of migrants,
  • $102,689 to help fund Texas border security

To-date, about 12 miles of border wall have been built by the state, at an estimated cost of more than $20 million per mile.

In April 2022, Governor Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to begin the voluntary transportation of migrants to sanctuary cities.

Since that time, Texas has bused:

  • Over 12,500 migrants to Washington, D.C. since April 2022
  • Over 31,200 migrants to New York City since August 2022
  • Over 25,300 migrants to Chicago since August 2022
  • Over 3,400 migrants to Philadelphia since November 2022
  • Over 11,800 migrants to Denver since May 18
  • Over 1,200 migrants to Los Angeles since June 14

But, now that self-proclaimed sanctuary cities like Chicago have started passing measures to keep out the buses of illegal migrants they claim to welcome, Texas has turned to air transportation, Gov. Abbott reported earlier this month:

“Sanctuary city Chicago started obstructing and targeting our busing mission. Texas will now expand our operation to include flights to Chicago. Until Biden steps up to secure the border, we will continue to provide overwhelmed Texas border towns with much-needed relief.”

Texas' first migrant flight departed El Paso on Tuesday, December 19 and arrived in Chicago that evening with over 120 migrants.

Democrat mayors of sanctuary cities - such as Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston – have begun complaining about being forced to make good on their promise of sanctuary and are calling on the Biden Administration to provide help.

Chicago Alderman: ‘I’m a Democrat,’ But Biden ‘Let the Border Remain Open’ and Migrant Surge Is Causing Crime

On Thursday’s “CNN News Central,” Chicago Alderman Brian Hopkins said that the city simply can’t handle any more migrants, and as a result of the migrant influx in the city, “We’re seeing crime go up, property values go down” and “We’re seeing communities destabilized.” Hopkins further stated, “I’m a Democrat, but I’ll say the Biden administration has absolutely dropped the ball,” and “every day that goes by while we let the border remain open and while we let cities try to address this humanitarian crisis, it gets worse by the day.”

Hopkins said, “We’re seeing communities destabilized. We’re seeing an influx of new residents who simply don’t have a place to reside. The impact of the local shelters is having a detrimental effect on the quality of life for local residents. We’re seeing crime go up, property values go down. It’s creating a political crisis, as well as stress between communities. … We desperately need decompression in Chicago. We’ve got 30,000 migrants. We simply can’t handle any more. We’re not equipped for it.”

He added that a decompression strategy would include some migrants getting work permits and help providing permanent housing for migrants.

Hopkins concluded, “I’m a Democrat, but I’ll say the Biden administration has absolutely dropped the ball, I’m not going to let them off the hook. They have left us in the ditch with this, and that’s unacceptable. What I’m hearing now is encouraging, we needed to hear this a year ago when this crisis first started in Chicago, we had a trickle that led to a torrent, and now we’re spending 300 million of our own funds, that’s about 5% of our federal municipal budget to address a problem that didn’t even exist a year a half ago, where’s the federal government been? Where has the Biden administration been? It’s not too late to do the right thing, but every day that goes by while we let the border remain open and while we let cities try to address this humanitarian crisis, it gets worse by the day. And I’ve lost patience, as you can probably tell.”

Hopkins’s remarks come after New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D), Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D)  and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston (D) held a virtual press conference in which they urged the Biden administration to increase federal support to handle the migrant influx.

Johnson has said the influx into Chicago is “not sustainable” without “significant federal support.”

Epic Fail: Chicago Man Arrested Numerous Times Under Cashless Bail Busted 3 More Times in Five Days

Juvenal Coronel
Chicago Police

A Chicago man is making a name for himself thanks to being arrested more than anyone else during the first month of cashless bail, a system that has Illinois residents deeply concerned.

CWB Chicago reported Thursday that Juvenal Coronel was recently freed from jail but was rearrested three additional times over a five-day span. The outlet highlighted the fact the man was freed every time.

“Coronel was arrested five times within the first month of cashless bail’s debut on September 18. He kept getting out,” the report said, noting one of those cases involved him allegedly hitting two women on their buttocks and another where he was accused of jumping on the hood of a woman’s car and punching her window while she was parked at a red light.

Following several other instances, Judge William Fahy ordered officials to detain the suspect for violating pretrial release conditions, the CWB Chicago report continued:

In the end, prosecutors dropped all of the cases except for the battery charges he received for slapping the women’s buttocks. Judge Donald Panarese gave him 120 days for that on November 13, and, after getting credit for good behavior, Coronel was released earlier this month.

The outlet said he has three cases that are currently pending. One involves the suspect being charged with battery after allegedly hitting a 14-year-old boy with a rake. The man left the police station a few hours after the incident happened.

He was apparently arrested again Tuesday after going into a McDonald’s restaurant and throwing trays on the floor and a bottle at the restaurant’s manager.

“Prosecutors asked Judge Kelly McCarthy to keep Coronel in custody yesterday because he keeps committing new crimes. She said no. When we checked yesterday evening, he had not been arrested again,” the CWB Chicago report stated.

Social media users were quick to comment on the report, one person writing, “He even has the appearance of mayhem.”

The first day of the cashless bail system in Illinois brought forth “absurd” and incoherent” results for the state, per McHenry County state’s attorney Patrick Kenneally, Breitbart News reported September 20:

The Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today (SAFE-T) Act officially went into effect on Sept. 18 after being signed into law by Illinois Democrat Gov. J.B. Pritzker in February of 2021.

The law was supposed to go into effect on January 1 of this year but was delayed by months of bipartisan lawsuits aimed at trying to stop it.

Kenneally, who helms the attorney general’s office in the county just to the northeast of Chicago, says that at least two suspects he feels are a danger to the community were allowed to simply walk out of jail after their court date.

It is also important to note a study found that over 7-in-10 criminal suspects released from jail without bail are eventually rearrested for allegedly committing additional crimes, Breitbart News reported February 20.

Every year, an estimated 2,000 Americans are killed by illegal aliens. In 2023, Breitbart News reported on several cases in which illegal aliens are accused of killing American citizens, as well as legal immigrants – many including young children.

Below, Breitbart News details the cases of 14 Americans and legal immigrants who were allegedly killed by illegal aliens this year.

Aiden Clark, 11 Years Old

In August, 35-year-old illegal alien Hermanio Joseph of Haiti was driving a Honda Odyssey minivan when he hit a Northwestern Local Schools bus that was full of children in Clark County, Ohio.

The bus, as a result of the crash, flipped, and 11-year-old Aiden Clark was ejected. That day marked the first day of school for Aiden. Joseph is set to face trial for Aiden’s death sometime in 2024.

Joseph is a citizen of Haiti and arrived at the United States-Mexico border in August 2022. From there, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued Joseph a Notice to Appear (NTA) in federal immigration court and released him into the U.S. interior, where he ultimately ended up in Ohio.

St. Johns County Sgt. Michael Kunovich, 52 Years Old

In May, 18-year-old illegal alien Virjilio Aguilar-Mendez of Guatemala allegedly caused St. Johns County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Michael Kunovich’s death after a struggle between the two that was the result of Aguilar-Mendez not cooperating, police allege.

Following the struggle with Aguilar-Mendez, Kunovich collapsed to the ground. First responders administered lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

Kunovich leaves behind two sons and his wife, among others.

Aguilar-Mendez arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border last year and was subsequently released into the United States. According to his attorney, Aguilar-Mendez had been working on a farm and sending money back to Guatemala.

Lizbeth Medina, 16 Years Old

This month, 16-year-old Lizbeth Medina was supposed to perform in a local Christmas parade with her cheer squad at Edna High School but did not show up. She was later found dead in the bathtub of her home by her mother, Jacqueline Medina.

Police have accused 23-year-old illegal alien Rafael Govea Romero of murdering Lizbeth.

Erpharo Gilbert, 46 Years Old

Photo via Facebook

In April, 33-year-old Juan Leonardo Parra Altamirano of Ecuador allegedly caused a deadly crash that left 46-year-old Erpharo Gilbert burning to death in her vehicle. According to police, Altamirano, instead of helping Gilbert get out of her vehicle, fled the scene.

“He could have saved my wife’s life, but he didn’t choose to,” Angel Husband Jean Marie Coquillon told local media at the time, noting that their 5-year-old son is “still waiting for his mom to come home.”

“He’s still waiting for his mom to come home,” Coquillon said. “Always at the window, looking, when he sees a black Honda, he knows that’s his mom.”

Altamirano is suspected to be a recently arrived illegal alien. Gilbert was a legal immigrant from Haiti.

Kayla Hamilton, 20 Years Old

Photo via Aberdeen Police Department

One of the year’s most publicized murder cases occurred in July 2022, when 20-year-old Kayla Marie Hamilton was found dead in her residence in Aberdeen, Maryland. In January of this year, police got a major break in the case when they arrested a 17-year-old illegal alien MS-13 gang member from El Salvador for Hamilton’s murder.

The illegal alien MS-13 gang member was initially apprehended at the southern border in March 2022 before being released into the U.S. interior as an Unaccompanied Alien Child (UAC) in May 2022 by President Joe Biden’s DHS.

The details came to light thanks to an investigation led by House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement Chairman Tom McClintock (R-CA).

Just two months later, police said he murdered Hamilton.

According to Angel Mom Tammy Nobles, the illegal alien murdered Hamilton, then raped her and left her on the floor in her bedroom. When police arrested the illegal alien, Nobles said he laughed and smirked.

“Kayla wasn’t doing anything wrong and she didn’t deserve to be murdered. I don’t want any other parent to live the nightmare that I am living,” Nobles told Congress this year. “I am her voice now and I’m going to fight with everything I have to bring awareness to the issue at the border.”

Maria Rios, 57 Years Old

@JanelleKHOU via Twitter

In February, 34-year-old illegal alien Carlos Lara-Balcazar was charged with murdering 57-year-old Maria Rios — a mother of three daughters and grandmother to four grandchildren. The murder occurred in La Marque, Texas.

“I just can’t believe that somebody could be that evil to do something to a woman who just did not deserve it,” Cynthia Espindola, one of Rios’s daughters, told local media at the time.

Ian Matteo Garcia, 6 Years Old

Photo via GoFundMe

In April, six-year-old Ian Matteo Garcia was in the parking lot of the North Dakota apartment complex where his family lived when he was struck by 19-year-old illegal alien Julian Montoya, who was speeding.

Montoya — who was convicted in September and will serve just five years in prison for Garcia’s death — was driving so fast that even as Garcia was warned to jump out of harm’s way, he did not have time. After hitting and killing Garcia, Montoya fled the scene.

Garcia’s family had recently moved to North Dakota from Guatemala.

Diane Hill Luckett, 67 Years Old

Photo via Legacy.com

In June, 68-year-old Diane Hill Luckett, a mother of three and grandmother of five, was driving in Wichita Falls, Texas when 37-year-old illegal alien Anastacio Bemol Mendoza struck her SUV after allegedly failing to stop at a red light.

Luckett was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries more than a week later. She left behind her husband of 37 years, three children, five grandchildren, three dogs, and three cats.

According to police, Mendoza was drunk and likely high on meth and cocaine, which he admitted to using at the time. Mendoza has an extensive criminal record, dating back to 2006, but had never been deported following his prior arrests.

Maria Gonzalez, 11 Years Old

Photo via Facebook

In August, 18-year-old Juan Carlos Garcia Rodriguez was arrested in Pasadena, Texas, for allegedly raping 11-year-old Maria Gonzalez before strangling her and stuffing her lifeless body into a laundry basket that he then allegedly hid under her bed.

Rodriguez first showed up at the U.S.-Mexico border in January of this year from Guatemala before being turned over to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as a UAC because he was 17 years old at the time. HHS eventually released Rodriguez to an adult sponsor in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Julisa Molina Rivera, Sonia Argentina Guzman, Diana Velazquez Alvarado, Jose Jonathan Casarez, and Daniel Enrique Laso

In April, four-time deported 38-year-old illegal alien Francisco Oropeza Perez-Torres of Mexico allegedly shot his neighbors — a family of five who immigrated to the U.S. from Honduras.

The victims were 31-year-old Julisa Molina Rivera, 25-year-old Sonia Argentina Guzman, 21-year-old Diana Velazquez Alvarado, 18-year-old Jose Jonathan Casarez, and nine-year-old Daniel Enrique Laso.

Oropeza was first ordered deported from the U.S. by a federal immigration judge in March 2009. He was quickly deported that month but crossed the border illegally and was deported again in September 2009. Then, in January 2012 and July 2016, Oropeza was also deported.

Dingell: We Need ‘Tight’ Restrictions on Humanitarian Parole, ‘Criminals’ ‘Are Coming Over’ and Doing ‘Horrific’ Stuff

On Tuesday’s broadcast of “CNN News Central,” Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) stated that there has to be a “tight” definition of what constitutes a humanitarian crisis  to bypass the normal immigration process under humanitarian parole because there are “criminals that are coming over and then have done something horrific.”

Co-host Sara Sidner asked, “I do want to ask you about one specific thing, because I know that the Republicans have been really sort of going after this one thing, saying this is the hangup, this is the big hangup, and it has to do with humanitarian parole, where the United States government can basically sort of let people in by bypassing the kind of regular immigration process, if — on a case-by-case basis — it’s for something urgent, an urgent humanitarian reason and can cause significant public benefit to the United States. That is one of the big issues that Republicans don’t want to see continuing. They want that parole issue to stop and not let people in, even with those sticking points. Is that a sticking point for you? Do you want to keep that in place, that decision to be able to help somebody if they’re in a major humanitarian crisis?”

Dingell responded, “We’ve got to define what that humanitarian crisis is. Because there are people that are coming here, quite frankly, for the death of a relative or someone that’s dying and people that are in need of help. But then what we see is the sensational, the criminals that are coming over and then have done something horrific. We have to really have a tight definition of what that is. And that’s why I’m unwilling to say I’ll support this or support that until I know what are we being asked to vote on.”

Joe Biden Deports 74% Fewer Criminal Illegals from U.S. Compared to Trump

US President Joe Biden speaks at an economic event at the Wisconsin Black Chamber of Commerce in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US, on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023. Biden said it is self-evident that Donald Trump is an insurrectionist but declined to endorse a Colorado Supreme Court decision that would bar the Republican …
ICE/Jamie Kelter Davis/Bloomberg

President Joe Biden is deporting about 74 percent fewer criminal illegal aliens from the United States compared to when former President Donald Trump was in office, new analysis shows.

Jon Feere, Director of Investigations at the Center for Immigration Studies and a former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official in the Trump administration, conducted analysis comparing Biden’s first full fiscal year as president and Trump’s.

According to Feere, ICE data from Fiscal Year 2018 and Fiscal Year 2022 show a stark contrast between the two administrations — mainly, “the Biden administration has gutted immigration enforcement across the board and has arrested and removed fewer illegal aliens — with and without criminal records — than the Trump administration.”

Specifically, Feere notes that Biden deported 74 percent fewer criminal illegal aliens in Fiscal Year 2022 compared to when Trump was in office in Fiscal Year 2018.

“In [Fiscal Year 2018], ICE deported 168,058 aliens with criminal convictions (145,262) or pending criminal charges (22,796). In [Fiscal Year 2022], ICE deported only 44,096 aliens with criminal convictions (38,447) or pending criminal charges (5,649),” Feere writes:

The data clearly illustrates that the Biden administration’s decision to conduct fewer arrests of criminal aliens has resulted in fewer removals of criminal aliens and an increased threat to public safety and national security. The dramatic decrease in removals has also sent a strong message to people overseas that unlawful entry into the United States comes with a decreased risk of deportation, undoubtedly contributing to the unprecedented mass illegal immigration that is occurring under the Biden administration. [Emphasis added]

ICE data via Center for Immigration Studies

In addition to far fewer deportations of criminal illegal aliens, arrests by ICE agents of criminal illegal aliens under Biden have been cut by 66 percent compared to Trump’s first year, while ICE detainer requests for criminal illegal aliens have dropped 56 percent.

Also under Biden, immigration-related criminal prosecutions have plummeted by 70 percent in Fiscal Year 2022 compared to Fiscal Year 2018 — an indication that the law enforcement arm of the administration is much less focused on prosecuting illegal aliens.

The ICE data, Feere writes, makes clear that Biden’s lax enforcement of federal immigration law has ensured more criminal illegal aliens get to stay in the U.S.

“The Biden administration’s policies have resulted in large numbers of criminal aliens with significant criminal records being allowed to remain in American communities,” Feere writes.

Chicago Mayor Johnson: Migrant Influx ‘Not Sustainable’ Without ‘Significant Federal Support’

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) said Wednesday “CNN This Morning” that the current migrant influx into his city was “not sustainable” without “significant federal support.”

Johnson said, “Since taking office a little bit over seven months ago, my administration has responded to this humanitarian mission with the full force of government. We have roughly 15,000 people living in shelters, temporary shelters here in Chicago, nearly 27 shelters. A total of 4500 children are in our Chicago public schools system, providing health care and also making sure that we are screening individuals as they come through the city of Chicago, providing, again, onsite vaccinations at all of our shelters.”

He continued, “But let me just say this to make this very clear, what I have said repeatedly is that we have to have coordination. Since taking office, we’ve had an uncoordinated approach. And what I’ve worked to do, instead of having chaos, is provide some structure and calm around the situation. And without significant federal support, this is not sustainable.”

Discussing migrants being bused to sanctuary cities, Johnson said, “What I mean by uncoordinated, what Governor Abbott is doing is quite frankly reckless. I had a delegation to actually go to the border and see firsthand the challenges that are bordering states and our bordering cities are experiencing. What I called for repeatedly is a coordinated approach between state and local municipalities so that we can address this crisis.”

CBP Sneaks Out Report of 191K Migrant Apprehensions on Friday Before Christmas

Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 191,000 migrants who crossed the border between ports of entry in November, according to a report released on the Friday afternoon before the Christmas extended weekend. House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) sharply criticized the Department of Homeland Security for what he described as the late release of the numbers.

“By strategically holding the release of these numbers until the Friday before Christmas, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is unabashedly showing the full measure of his duplicity,” Chairman Green said in a written statement. “These numbers are so bad, he wants as few Americans to see them as possible.”

Border Patrol agents apprehended 191,113 migrants who illegally crossed the border between ports of entry in November, according to the Southwest Land Border Encounters report released on Friday afternoon. The number of apprehensions is up from October’s reported 188,780 migrants bringing the total for the new FY24 to 379,893.

“December’s numbers, which will be released in January, are anticipated to be even more grim,” Green added. Unofficial reports for the first 15 days of December (approximately 121,000 migrants )show the rise in migrant apprehensions is continuing at an alarming rate, Breitbart Texas reported.

“Fortunately, next month the Secretary won’t have a major holiday as a convenient shield to hide behind,” the chairman said in reference to the release of the November report on the eve of the Christmas holiday weekend. “This cowardly quest to evade accountability and transparency is further reason my Committee is initiating impeachment proceedings against Secretary Mayorkas early in the new year. This devastating and utter disaster for our country will no longer be tolerated.”

The Tucson Sector led all others in the report which revealed the apprehension of 64,638 migrants in November. This is up 176 percent from the previous year’s reported 23,411 migrant apprehensions. It is also up from the 55,226 migrants apprehended in October, according to the CBP report. During the first 15 days of December, Tucson Sector agents apprehended another 40,000 migrants. This brings the FY24 total to nearly 160,000 migrants.

Del Rio Sector agents apprehended a reported 42,952 migrants in November. This is up from the 38,207 migrants apprehended in October. With the first 15 days of December added in, Del Rio Sector agents apprehended more than 113,000 migrants this fiscal year.
