BLACK CRIME IN AMERICA - BLACKS AND STORE LOOTING - WATCH — Police: California Man Steals $49K Worth of iPhones from Apple Store

HOW MANY BILLIONS PER YEAR DOES BLACK CRIME COST AMERICA?

Police arrested a suspect Wednesday after a brazen theft inside an Apple Store in Berkeley, California, where shocked customers watched the scene unfold.

Detectives with the Emeryville Police Department took Tyler Mims into custody, Fox Business reported Thursday.

Video footage shows the suspect, wearing all black and a pair of red shoes, allegedly grabbing items inside the store and ripping their cords out of the display tables. The store’s alarm is heard, and people are seen watching from a distance.

However, no one appears to say anything to the suspect as he allegedly continues grabbing items and shoving them down the front of his pants:

He then exits the store and jogs past a police car before approaching another vehicle waiting outside:

Mims was charged with burglary, grand theft, and additional crimes regarding the incident that happened on Monday. The Fox report said the person who called for help said the suspect took 50 iPhones.

The bundle was valued at $49,230, the outlet continued, adding, “Since Jan. 19, the department has responded to four grand thefts from the Apple Store in town,” and police say they are part of organized retail crime.

It is important to note that California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) recently said he was shocked to hear a Target worker blame him for the shoplifting plaguing the state, which erupted after it adopted criminal justice reforms he supported, Breitbart News reported on February 1.

Newsom relayed the incident during a Zoom call:

The outlet continued:

Newsom relayed a story of visiting Target and watching someone steal from the store. He expressed surprise that the clerk did not pursue the thief, only to be told that no one stopped shoplifters because the governor lowered the threshold for punishing thieves.

The governor, whom the clerk did not recognize, protested: “That’s just not true,” he said. However, Proposition 47 of 2014, which he backed, and whose repeal he continues to oppose, reduced the penalty for theft up to $950 from a felony to a misdemeanor.

In addition, the California State Senate passed a bill in the summer of 2023 that would bar employers from requiring their workers to help stop shoplifters, per Breitbart News.

Police: Chicago Man on Ankle Monitor in Murder Case Found Shot in Stolen Car with 2 Guns

Police: Chicago Man on Ankle Monitor in Murder Case Found Shot in Stolen Car with 2 Guns
Cook County Sheriff's Office

A Chicago man with an ankle monitor who was already up on 160 charges, including murder, has been charged in a new shooting after allegedly being found with two guns in a stolen car.

Torrey Lewis, who has a long criminal record, was found wounded in a stolen car in the parking lot of an auto parts store in the south suburban Chicago town of Dolton, police said on Wednesday. Officers found a rifle and a handgun on the front passenger seat, and a second man was found shot in the back seat, WLS-TV reported.

Police say Lewis was involved in a gun fight that injured four people. The gunfight occurred when multiple people jumped out of two cars and began firing at each other.

The Cook County Sheriff’s department has admitted to having the suspect in the electronic monitor system but also noted that the convict was on one of his “free movement days,” and they were not monitoring him at the time he was involved in the shooting.

This “free movement day” consists of two days a week automatically granted to suspects and convicts on ankle monitors, a mandate that is contained in the state’s recently enacted soft-on-crime SAFE-T Act that also eliminated cash bail in the Land of Lincoln.

Officials did review the monitor’s GPS data and found that Lewis was either being chased or was allgedly chasing someone in the stolen car.

The tracking data revealed that Lewis left his home at 8:48 a.m. and “proceeded to travel at high rates of speed throughout the South Suburbs, at times reaching speeds of over 100 miles an hour, until he arrived at the scene of the shooting,” the Southland Journal reported.

Lewis was on electronic monitoring (EM) while awaiting trial for murder in a shooting from July that left Timothy Horace dead. Horace, who was disabled and in a wheel chair, was shot outside a movie theater in front of his girlfriend in Country Club Hills in 2017.

The suspect was initially held in jail. But in May 2020, his bond was reduced and he was placed on EM after posting the required ten percent.

Lewis has now been charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon for the incident in Dolton. But he is currently in the hospital for his injuries.

The incident is just another example of how badly the Democrat-driven SAFE-T Act has been for the state.

On its first day, Illinois county attorneys and sheriffs denounced the law as “absurd” for delivering “incoherent” results as judges are required to release a host of repeat offenders after their cases are heard.

Feds: Democrat Former Lawmaker in Illinois Submitted False Insurance Policies for Nonexistent People

Annazette Collins
ilga.gov

A former Illinois Democrat state senator is in hot water for allegedly submitting false insurance policies after leaving her position and starting a career selling insurance.

Federal prosecutors on Friday accused Annazette Collins of submitting the policies for individuals who did not request them or were not even real people, the Chicago Sun-Times reported, noting officials have so far not filed criminal charges against her regarding the allegations.

An image shows the woman in question:

“Those policies were tied to bank accounts controlled either by Collins or her daughter, Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle Parthum told a judge,” the outlet said.

Collins recently said she would testify for allegedly evading almost $100,000 in taxes.

“Prosecutors had previously disclosed Collins was fired from her job at American Income Life Insurance, but they said they would not seek to disclose the reason unless she decided to take the stand,” the Sun-Times report said, noting she was later fired from her position as an insurance agent with the company for allegedly violating its policies.

Jurors were permitted to hear about the allegations if she decided to take the stand, but she apparently decided against it.

A verdict was not reached on Friday afternoon. Therefore, jurors plan to come back on Monday.

The Sun-Times report also said, “Federal investigations have swirled around Collins for years. Her name surfaced in two separate corruption trials last year, including the trial of four political insiders convicted of a nearly decade-long conspiracy to bribe former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan to benefit ComEd.”

According to her profile on the Illinois General Assembly website, Collins’ biography reads:

Served as an Administrator for the Chicago School Board. Previously served in the Department of Children and Family Services, the Cook County Probation Department, and as a Prison Correctional Officer. Received her bachelor degree in Sociology from Chicago State University and received an M.S. in Criminal Justice and has completed further graduate work in counseling from Chicago State University. Lives on Chicago’s West Side with her husband Keith Langston and daughters Angelique Nicole and Taylor Kourtnie.

According to National Association of Insurance Commissioners, “Insurance fraud occurs when an insurance company, agent, adjuster or consumer commits a deliberate deception in order to obtain an illegitimate gain.”

It is possible for such fraud to occur when someone is buying, using, selling, or underwriting insurance, the group said, noting fraud also hurts the financial situations of consumers and businesses.

Meanwhile, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) website says, “The insurance industry consists of more than 7,000 companies that collect over $1 trillion in premiums each year.”

“The massive size of the industry contributes significantly to the cost of insurance fraud by providing more opportunities and bigger incentives for committing illegal activities,” the site stated.

Tucker Carlson Pressures Putin to Release Jailed WSJ Journalist - ISN'T THAT MORE THAN JOJO BIDEN HAS EVER DONE?

Tucker Carlson Pressures Putin to Release Jailed WSJ Journalist

Tucker Carlson repeatedly pressed Russian President Vladimir Putin to consider freeing jailed Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich in an interview published Thursday, receiving a negative response.

Putin told Carlson that he can see Gershkovich one day returning to the United States if Moscow and Washington broker an agreement. Carlson pushed back, contending that the WSJ journalist “is obviously not a spy” and suggesting that “it’s not fair to ask for somebody else in exchange” for Gershkovich.

“I want to ask you directly – if, as a sign of your decency, you would be willing to release [Gershkovich] to us and we’ll bring him back to the United States,” Carlson asked, to which Putin replied, “We have done so many gestures of good will, out of decency, that I think we have run out of them.”

Watch Below (time code — 01:51:06):

“We have never seen anyone reciprocate to us in a similar manner,” Putin continued, adding, “We do not rule out that we can do that if our partners take reciprocal steps.”

“Special services are in contact with one another,” Putin added. “They are talking about the matter in question. There is no taboo to settle this issue. We are willing to solve it, but there are certain terms being discussed by a special services channels. I believe an agreement can be reached.”

Carlson responded by noting that countries catching spies and then exchanging them for their own spies being held captive in other countries has happened for years, but that the situation with Gershkovich is different because he is “obviously not a spy.”

“This stuff has happened for centuries,” Carlson said. “One country catches another spy within its borders, it trades it for one of its own intel guys in another country. I think what makes this different is [Gershkovich] is obviously not a spy.”

“Maybe he was breaking your law in some way, but he’s not a super spy, and everybody knows that,” Carlson added. “He’s being held hostage in exchange – which is true, with respect, it’s true and everyone knows it’s true – so maybe he’s in a different category?”

Carlson then suggested to Putin that “maybe it’s not fair to ask for somebody else in exchange for letting him out,” adding, “Maybe it degrades Russia to do that.”

Putin responded by saying, “You can give different interpretations to what constitutes a spy,” adding, “A person that gets secret information and does so in a conspiratorial manner, then this is qualified as espionage.”

“And that is exactly what he was doing. He was receiving classified, confidential information, and he did it covertly,” Putin claimed.

“Maybe he did that out of carelessness,” Putin acknowledged, but claimed that even if that’s true, Gershkovich obtaining the information he received nonetheless qualifies as “espionage.”

“He was caught red-handed when he was secretly getting confidential information,” Putin asserted.

Carlson asked Putin if he is suggesting that Gershkovich was “working for the U.S. government or NATO,” or if he was “just a reporter who was given material he wasn’t supposed to have,” and then argued that those two situations “seem like very different things.”

Putin responded by claiming again that the Wall Street Journal reporter was engaging in “espionage,” and then proceeded to tell a story about a Russian “patriot” who is currently being held prisoner “in an allied country of the U.S.”

Putin explained that someone who harbors “patriotic sentiments” for Russia is being held prisoner because they “eliminated” a person who was “laying our soldiers, taken prisoner, on the road and then drove his car over their heads.”

Carlson pushed back, saying, “Yeah, but Evan Gershkovich didn’t do that.”

“I mean, that’s a completely different – he is a 32-year-old newspaper reporter,” Carlson added.

Putin acknowledged that Gershkovich “committed something different,” but claimed, “He’s not just a journalist.”

“I reiterate, he’s a journalist who was secretly getting confidential information,” Putin said. “Yes, it is different, but still.”

The Russian president went on to insist, “There is an ongoing dialog between the special services,” adding, “They’re keeping in touch, so let them do their work.”

“I do not rule out that the person you refer to, Mr. Gershkovich, may return to his motherland,” Putin added. “At the end of the day, it does not make any sense to keep him in prison in Russia.”

“We want the U.S. special services to think about how they can contribute to achieving the goals our special services are perusing,” Putin said. “We are ready to talk. Moreover, the talks are on their way.”

“There have been many examples of these talks crowned with success. This is probably going to be crowned with success as well. But we have to come to an agreement,” Putin added, to which Carlson responded, saying, “I hope you let him out.”

In Moscow, Tucker Carlson commits journalism

So The Interview with Putin is out.

After the big hullabaloo from the left and the Washington swamp types about the all-powerful insidiousness of Russian "propaganda," plus a lot of Hitler stuff, Tucker Carlson calmly went to Moscow, met Russian President Vladimir Putin and got a doozy of a taped two-hour, seven-minute interview, starting out with Putin's half-hour recital of a thousand years of Russian history.

You listen to it, and all you can do is mull it afterward -- it was so full of substance. Putin is a deep thinker, an intellectual of sorts, and a policy wonk, someone who wants "a discussion" and "not a talk show" as he put it, and he delivered on that.

His health seemed to have improved, he looked good, and he came off as alert and clear-eyed.

So as Joe Biden yawps his way through his presidency, mixing up the presidents of Mexico and Egypt, Putin calmly recites one thousand years of Russian history in immense detail, decribed off the top of his head, and then moves into deep discussion on Russo-American relations and all the twists and turns as well as standing issues that drive them.

Cutting to the chase, we learned that Putin invaded Ukraine based on a view that Ukraine was full of Nazis but the trouble started with U.S.-driven coup activity with all the Ukrainian color revolutions overthrowing elected governments in the name of 'democracy,' the ones where Democrat State Department fixture Victoria Nuland passed out cookies and sandwiches to protestors. It also was the result of broken promises not to expand NATO, or else to let Russia into it, too.

Some of that seems fanciful -- the Nazi stuff was quite hard to believe given that Nazis are marginal losers on the fringes in both Russia and Ukraine, not a power center in either country, but the coup activity argument was fair enough, and the NATO expansion is worth considering.

He made some arguments I have heard from Russians before: That the Russians wanted to work on missile defense systems together with NATO but was rebuffed, drawing Russia closer to Iran and China.

The last time he spoke to Biden was -- he was not sure -- and Tucker probed on that, learning basically that Putin didn't really want to discuss it. That Putin believed the CIA blew up the Nord Stream II pipeline. That Putin understood very well the role of the U.S. dollar as a source of U.S. influence. That Putin was not concerned about China's dominance of BRICS. That Putin could have better prospects with a president other than Biden but much of the U.S. is swamp-driven. That Putin believes, like China's leaders, that global development is inevitable and the U.S. will necessarily decline. "Look at Indonesia," he noted, saying that eventually they too will develop. That the U.S. adapts to the inevitable decline though sanctions and military force. That Putin had good relations with Presidents George W. Bush and Donald Trump.

Tucker also usefully asked Putin who he thinks is making the decisions in the U.S.

Putin's response: "I don't know. America is a complex country. It's conservative on one hand, it's changing on another." Putin baffled at how U.S. elections were held with some states able to disqualify a president from the ballot.

He wondered why the U.S. was so negative against Russia, and mulled a lot about the lost opportunity of NATO missile defense. He mulled again on the "pressure pressure, pressure" regarding Ukraine into NATO. He saw the U.S. through the lens of what he sees in Russia -- a collection of fiefdoms, -- with production specialties created, quasi-state entities to create defense vs. China. He called it a mistake.

Tucker asked him how can a leader be a Christian? Putin went into thinking about Dostoyevsky and the Russian soul. The West was practical, production-oriented, scientific, the Orthodox East was spirituality-focused. Then Tucker asked him if he saw God at work, could he see see forces that are not human? Putin said 'no.'

He went on about Genghis Khan, the fall of the Roman empire, the rise and decline of empires, noting that it took five centuries for the Roman empire to fall apart. But things are happening much faster now, he said. Tucker asked him when does the AI empire start? He suggested reaching an agreement with Elon Musk.

As an important coda to the interview, Tucker asked about detained Wall Street Journal Evan Gershkovich, whom he said was obviously not a spy and just "a kid." Putin demurs on releasing him but Tucker bit down and kept at him for a release, drawing out at least some openness to it.

At the interview's end, Putin didn't want to get out of there -- he wanted to re-mull and re-expound on some of this points, laying out his thoughts again.

It was interesting and revealing because there was so much of it. It was like he enjoyed sorting his thoughts out for Tucker. There were only two areas where one felt he was trying to propagandize the U.S. -- on energy and on the justification for the Ukraine war. The rest seemed to be pretty sincere.

Russian former YUKOS billionaire and imprisoned dissident Mikhail Khordorkovsky laid out downright errors in Putin's statements for perspective, most of which appear correct, but some disputable:

Meanwhile, in the wake of the interview, there was some reporting from Kremlin sources out on Twitter that Putin was unhappy with the interview, which, if so, it would be interesting because it would suggest that Putin had revealed too much of his own self, his own internal thinking, more than he'd have liked to Tucker, or U.S. intelligence to know. It might mean he had made himself intellectually naked so to speak and then regretted it.

In short, that's good journalism.

Far from being obsequious, or allowing propaganda, it was good journalism, telling us something we didn't know instead of hammering away on "talking points" and "narratives" which is what journalists ought to be doing more of.

Sure, it came in a roundabout way, and resulted in no secrets or surprises revealed. But through two hours of letting Putin talk himself out it was immensely revealing in a unique way as to what the U.S. is up against, and it helps us all to hear that different point of view.

Well done, Tucker.

At what point do we say we’ve lost our country?

Imagine for a moment what the past few years would have been like if the nation’s socialist “Democratic” party and its media propaganda arm had absolutely no limitations on their power.  What would it be like if we just had one-party rule and the GOP was only an afterthought?

The problem is that you won’t have to imagine anything if President Trump and the pro-freedom right don’t prevail in November, and even then, it might just be a short respite from the Democrat party’s deliberate destruction of the country as founded.

As much as most people would like to deny this reality, we are rapidly reaching a point where things could be very bad

So we have a situation where a state governor defies the federal government in its efforts to bring in millions of potential illegal Democrat voters, and he’s backed up by several other states...resulting in a civil war.  That was the plot of a movie — a dark comedy — from 1997 entitled The Second Civil War, and it should seem eerily similar to current events.  Sometimes you feel like the female news anchor in the movie, who berated her male counterpart in reporting other events after the shooting broke out in that “there is no other news” (language warning).  If the situation deteriorates even more, it won’t matter what else is happening, because we will inevitably have just two very bad choices.

But first let’s consider two stark realities of what the authoritarian left has done to the country.

Do we still have a country when it effectively has no borders?

Let’s be blunt about it: the authoritarian far left has effectively erased our southern border.  John Lovell of the Warrior Poet Society broached the subject a few days ago of whether we are a nation any longer without any borders.  Illegal invaders are being moved around to impact every corner of the country, not just the border states.

But it’s worse than that.  The “Democrat” party is doing everything it can to encourage the illegal invasion with incentives paid for by our tax dollars.  Democrats are providing free health careprepaid credit cards, and presumably free college to the invader Democrats.

So hasn’t the far left effectively erased the country by erasing the border?  Leftists have lied for years about the border, so should we listen to them ever again?

Do we still have a country when it’s being divided by the fascist far left?

This is a far more subtle but just as dangerous aspect of what the far left is doing these days.  Everywhere you look, they are working to divide the country, from assaulting every amendment of the Bill of Rights to using lawfare in elections instead of trying to win in the marketplace of ideas — not to mention a two-tiered justice system that persecutes political opponents and rewards criminals.

They are dividing the people to make us easier to control, but it’s essentially ripping the country apart, toward an unintended consequence on their part.

Therefore, the case can be made that it’s the nation’s socialist Democrat party and its media propaganda arm that have brought us to this point, no matter how much they lie and point fingers.

So what are the long-term implications of what they have done, and what are our choices in the matter?

The horrifying reality of what is happening was aptly laid out in a piece in The Federalist: “Without Mass Deportations, America’s Demographics Shift Will Result In Radical Politics.”

Going forward, even if we somehow prevent 100 percent of future illegal immigration, it only buys us time — and not much. Democrats know this, of course. It’s the reason they continue to accept short-term backlash from our open border in exchange for a long-term payoff. By pointing out that illegal aliens cannot vote, the left claims that this whole thing is a “racist conspiracy theory.”

This disingenuous tactic ignores three things: 1) Democrats have routinely tried to pass some type of amnesty that would eventually allow illegal aliens to vote, 2) Children of illegal aliens born in the U.S. can legally vote when they turn 18, and 3) In 2020, Joe Biden carried Georgia, Wisconsin, and Arizona by a total of about 45,000 votes, meaning a presidential election could be decided by only 0.15 percent of the illegal alien population voting in the right states.

The author makes the point that the last item in that list of three is a mathematical certainty, so even if the “Democrats” don’t pass amnesty or have the illegal invaders vote, they just need to wait to gain perpetual power and one-party rule.

Just imagine the authoritarian leftists unencumbered by the need to win elections.  We’ve often stated that socialism is defined as “buying votes with other people’s money, taken at gunpoint,” and they are already putting the first part into practice.

What’s to stop them from doing more of that?

The people getting the freebies will greatly outnumber those who have to foot the bill — in the middle class.  What’s to stop them from wanting to bring in more illegal “Democrats”?  The blunt truth is that they are doing this only to ensure perpetual power for themselves — until they run out of other people’s money.  Then the fun really begins.

So the only choice will have to be, as Sky News host James Morrow has proposed, “DEI: Deport Every Illegal.”

Barring that, we’ve passed all the easy exits, and we’re down to what happens every time collectivism is tried — communism, fascism, Leninism, Maoism, socialism, statism, or whatever you want to call your particular form of societal poison.

That would be the unimaginably horrible option, and by now you should be able to guess what it is.
