Investors Snapping up Single Family Homes in U.S. Suburbs, Owners Fight Back

Wall Street investors are snapping up houses people lost during the Great Recession and the coronavirus pandemic as the media report shocking statistics on housing.

The Washington Post reported investors last year owned almost one in seven homes sold in the top U.S. metropolitan areas. That is the most in 20 years, according to the Post’s analysis of statistics from the Redfin website:

In Charlotte [North Carolina] and elsewhere, according to The Post’s analysis, investors have purchased a disproportionate number of homes in neighborhoods where a majority of residents are Black. Last year, 30 percent of home sales in majority Black neighborhoods across the nation were to investors, compared with 12 percent in other zip codes, The Post’s analysis shows.

In Charlotte and surrounding Mecklenburg County, landlords backed by Wall Street own roughly 11,500 houses — more than 4 percent of single family homes, according to an analysis last year by the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Urban Institute. Most of the houses are in the starter home price range, “likely putting the most pressure on the lower end of the market,” said the institute’s Ely Portillo.

Most of those purchases were made by one of six major out-of-state companies: Progress Residential, American Homes 4 Rent and Invitation Homes each owned more than 2,000 homes, according to the Urban Institute analysis, while Tricon, Amherst Residential and First Key each had more than 1,000 homes.

The Post used stories from homeowners in some of the neighborhoods that oppose the trend and how they are fighting back.

“We were being bombarded,” Valerie Hamilton, past president of the Potters Glen Homeowners Association in her Charlotte, N. neighborhood, said.

“Don’t get me wrong — there are some very good renters in this neighborhood,” Hamiliton explained to the outlet. “But people who own their homes usually take more pride in their property, and we wanted to make sure we keep a place for them.”

“Our main concern was with the faceless investment groups who were buying the homes more than just the renters,” Justin Kerner, 41, a former home association board member said in the Post report. “If we’re sending a notice about garbage on the lawn to a company in Las Vegas, it’s going to end up on the desk of someone who doesn’t care what the neighborhood looks like.”

And aside from failing to maintain properties, crime also has moved in with the rentals.

“Six homes had bullet holes,” Keri Miller, treasurer of the homeowners association at Avalon at Mallard Creek in North Carolina, said about crime in her neighborhood.

The HOA’s in some states have been implementing new rules to keep the rental inventory capped, including the requirement that homeowners must not rent their home for one to two years.

“It’s working,” Miller said.

Illegal Alien Pleads Guilty to Helping Murder Legal Immigrant Who Exposed $3.5M Illegal Hiring Scheme

An illegal alien has pleaded guilty to operating a massive $3.5 million illegal hiring scheme in Savannah, Georgia, and helping orchestrate the murder of a legal immigrant who blew the whistle on the scheme.

Last week, 53-year-old illegal alien Pablo Rangel-Rubio of Mexico pleaded guilty to working with two other illegal aliens in employing at least 100 illegal aliens for a tree service company and helping murder Eliud Montoya, a naturalized American citizen, after he reported the scheme to the federal government.

As Breitbart News reported in 2018, Rangel-Rubio and his illegal alien brother Juan Rangel-Rubio, 45-years-old, along with 52-year-old illegal alien Higinio Perez-Bravo were charged with running the illegal hiring scheme where they employed at least 100 illegal aliens for the tree service company.

As part of the scheme, Rangel-Rubio hired the illegal aliens and secured them with stolen Social Security Numbers (SSNs) of American citizens to fraudulently bypass U.S. labor laws. Rangel-Rubio would also conceal the illegal alien hires by taking their paychecks, cashing them, and paying the hires in cash while skimming money from their checks for himself.

Montoya, in April 2017, contacted the tree service company to report what Rangel-Rubio and the two other illegal aliens were doing. Rangel-Rubio was given a copy of Montoya’s complaint to the company.

Montoya also contacted the federal government in August 2017 to report the scheme. Just two days later, Montoya was murdered nearby his residence in Garden City, Georgia. As part of his plea agreement, Rangel-Rubio admitted to his helping in Montoya’s murder.

“Pablo Rangel-Rubio was responsible for employing at least 100 illegal aliens to work for a tree service, skimming from their paychecks to further fatten his wallet, and then helping arrange the murder of a man who exposed the scheme,” U.S. Attorney David Estes said in a statement.

While Juan Rangel-Rubio and Higinio Perez-Bravo are awaiting trial, Pablo Rangel-Rubio is facing 50 years in federal prison. His sentencing will take place at a later date.

EXCLUSIVE: Border Patrol Apprehends 1 Million Migrants in 2022

Breitbart Texas source photo

EAGLE PASS, Texas — A source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection says the Border Patrol has now apprehended more than 1 million migrants at the southwest sectors in Fiscal Year 2022. The benchmark was reportedly reached Thursday and signals the federal agency is again poised to break records.

The source says nearly 8,000 migrants were apprehended on Wednesday, breaking the single-day record for migrant encounters at the southwest border. Nearly 7 of 10 migrants apprehended since October 1 are single adults, according to the source. The source says limited removal pathways are contributing to overcrowding at Border Patrol processing facilities.

On multiple occasions last week, the source says the agency encountered large migrant groups numbering more than 200 in size. On Sunday, one single group of 187 crossed the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass and quickly surrendered.

The source says limited removal options are causing large amounts of released migrants. The only significant tool is the Trump era emergency Title 42 COVID-19 CDC order, which could quickly expel applicable migrants from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador with minimal administrative processing.

Mexico, according to the source, will not accept family units with small children. In January 2021, the Biden Administration excluded unaccompanied migrant children from expulsion under the emergency order — which resulted in an unprecedented surge of the same cohort.

The order, according to the source, is expected to end soon and will eliminate the widely used pathway of removal. The source says part of the current surge is fueled by an increase in migrants from Cuba. In February, 16,550 Cubans were apprehended along the southwest border. The total represents a more than 300% spike compared to the same month in 2021.

The source says most of the Cuban migrants are released, as opposed to facing the court-ordered re-implementation of the Remain in Mexico program. The source says fewer than 100 of the 16,550 Cubans arrested in February were kept in that country per the policy.

Reaching the million-migrant mark has brought about another hardship on the agency, according to the source. With facility overcrowding and the need to transport, process, and provide humanitarian care to many people, human resources are overwhelmed. Agents are no longer capable of routine patrols in many areas, the source contends.

Certain areas of the border are not routinely patrolled and the federal agency relies on state and local law enforcement to detain migrants in western Texas.

State and federal law enforcement officials in West Texas apprehended a group of migrants packed like sardines in a dump trailer. The traffic stop took place near Carrizo Springs, Texas.

Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens tweeted a photo showing a group of 75 migrants packed in a dump trailer. “This failed mass smuggling load is a good example of the dangerous tactics used by criminals just to make [money],” the chief tweeted.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers operating under Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star border security mission teamed up with Border Patrol agents to interdict the dangerous human smuggling operation.

Not far away, DPS troopers and members of the Texas National Guard working brush operations on private ranches in Kinney County apprehended a group of 19 migrants.

Under Operation Lone Star, troopers arrested more than 4,300 arrests of migrants for the state crime of criminal trespass, DPS officials tweeted.

In March, Border Patrol agents set a new record for apprehending migrants during the Biden-era. Agents apprehended more than 209,000 migrants — 41,000 in the Del Rio Sector alone, Breitbart Texas reported.

Since the beginning of the new fiscal year in October, agents apprehended a total of more than 1,000,000 migrants, a source within CBP disclosed.

Texas DPS spokesperson warns of ‘complete chaos' at border

Looking for a Democrat who stands up to the crazies? Here he is

Over the last 15 months, Rep. Henry Cuellar of South Texas has been a loud critic of President Biden's border policies, such as eliminating Title 42.  Cuellar was one of two Democrats in Texas to say no!

On another matter, Mr. Cuellar is refusing to go along with his party.  This is from The Texas Tribune:

U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, a moderate Democrat from Laredo, broke with his party to vote against a landmark marijuana legalization bill on Friday that passed in the House. Only one other Democrat voted against it.

Cuellar, who is currently in a fierce runoff for his 10th term against progressive attorney Jessica Cisneros, has long infuriated progressive Democrats with his conservative positions on many social issues.

The Laredo politician opposes abortion and was the lone Democrat to vote against federal abortion rights [sic] legislation last fall.

Yes, Mr. Cuellar is making it easy for the AOC wing of the party to hate him, opposing open borders, marijuana, and abortion.

Mr. Cuellar may pay a price for his conservatism or independence.  He is fighting to keep his seat in a party runoff.

At the same time, Mr. Cuellar may know his district better than we do.  It is a culturally conservative section of Texas trending Republican, in large part because of the Democrat party's attack on the 2nd Amendment, support of abortion, and open borders.

Last, but not least, Mr. Cuellar could switch parties and come to our side.  My guess is that he'll have more in common with us than the woke Democrats.

Joe Biden Faces Supreme Court Review of His ‘Catch and Release’ Policy

President Joe Biden and border chief Alejandro Mayorkas are fuelling the migration wave into Americans’ jobs by ignoring the law that says migrants must be detained until their asylum cases are decided.

However, the Supreme Court will review the legality of Biden’s catch-and-release policy on April 26 in the Biden v. Texas lawsuit. The review will take place one month before Biden and Mayorkas lift the Title 42 barrier on May 23 and open the borders to an unlimited inflow of asylum-claiming migrants.

Federal law says any migrant on U.S. soil can apply for asylum. But the law also says:  “Mandatory detention: Any alien subject to the procedures under this clause shall be detained pending a final determination of credible fear of persecution and, if found not to have such a fear, until removed.”

“The [federal] statute is very clear that aliens who show up at the border without documentation or a visa are supposed to be detained throughout their entire immigration court proceedings,” said Rob Law, the director of regulatory affairs and policy for the Center for Immigration Studies.

“Non-U.S. nationals (aliens) apprehended by immigration authorities when attempting to unlawfully enter the United States … must be detained while awaiting removal,” the Congressional Research Service wrote on May 10, 2019.

But Mayorkas refuses to detain the migrants, despite the damage to Americans. Mayorkas also minimizes the use of the Migration Protection Protocols program, which effectively detains migrants in Mexico until their cases are complete.

Instead, he releases about 60,000 migrants each month into the United States under a variety of legal claims, as an additional 40,000 job-seeking migrants sneak across the border.

This catch-and-release policy allows the migrants to quickly get the jobs that they need to repay their debts to coyotes, cartels, and banks. So the policy fuels the cartels’ conveyor belt of labor and cash, and it allows people from many countries in Africa, South America, and Asia to fund their illegal entry into Americans’ labor and housing markets. The inflow of illegals skews the national economy in favor of investors, employers, and the coastal states.

Mayorkas is just one of numerous officials who have ignored the detention-until-completion law, according to the CRS report: “For many years, immigration authorities had construed governing statutes and regulations to … [ensure]  alien could seek bond and potentially be released from custody during the pendency of those proceedings.”

The hands-off, no-enforcement policy was reversed by President Donald Trump’s Attorney General, Bill Barr, the CRS report notes:

On April 16, 2019 in [a legal directive titled] Matter of M-S-, however, Attorney General (AG) William Barr reversed this position, ruling instead that aliens apprehended between ports of entry and placed in formal removal proceedings following a credible fear determination remain ineligible for bond [and release].

Barr wrote:

In conclusion, the statutory text, the implementing regulations, and the Supreme Court’s decision in Rodriguez all lead to the same conclusion: that all aliens transferred from expedited to full proceedings after establishing a credible fear are ineligible for bond. [release].

Even pro-migration advocates concede the point. The American Immigration Council, for example, said on March 17, 2022:

The United States has broad authority to detain certain categories of immigrants, migrants, and others seeking humanitarian protection as their proceedings wind their way through the immigration legal system.

The detention law has been on the books since the 1996 reforms, said Law, adding:

It was the George W. Bush/Republican “Any Willing Worker” [policy] that was the beginning of just disregarding the mandatory detention provision. That let economic migrants loose into the interior of the country [supposedly to] show up to their court hearings. But as word got out that this is how the United States was treating migrants, more and more and more [migrants] came and overloaded the [asylum] system.

Trump tried to create a hard reset through [Migrant Protection Protocols] MPP and other deterrence and enforcement measures, but then Biden comes and just basically blows up the entire detention provisions of the [Immigration and Naturalization Act] INA.

The lower court judges in the Biden v. Texas case directed Biden’s deputies to either detain the migrants or keep them in Mexico until their asylum cases is resolved. So far, Mayorkas has sent only a few hundred migrants back to Mexico under MPP. In February, he released almost 73,480 migrants and sent just 93 back to Mexico under MPP.

Some GOP politicians recognize the government-backed labor migration hidden inside the overloaded asylum process.

“We are telling people ‘If you come to the border, and you claim asylum … You can come in,’” Sen. Bob Portman (R-PA) said on March 30. He continued:

By the way, there’s a 1.5 million person backlog for dealing with asylum claims — 1.5 million! This means that when you are allowed into the country to await an immigration judge looking at your case, there will be anywhere from four to six years before your case is considered. While you’re in the United States, … you’re working, your [illegal migrant] kids are going to school, you’re getting your health care, you’re part of the community.

And obviously a lot of these people don’t show up for their [asylum] court case. Some do, some don’t. But the point is this system is attracting people to the border.

Federal immigration law exists to protect the American right to a level playing field in the labor economy from unscrupulous employers, officials, and politicians — such as President George. W. Bush and his “Any Willing Worker” pitch.

Under 8 U.S. Code § 1324a, passed by Congress in 1952, employers are barred from hiring foreigners unless the foreigners have work permits:

(1) In general

It is unlawful for a person or other entity

(A) to hire, or to recruit or refer for a fee, for employment in the United States an alien knowing the alien is an unauthorized alien (as defined in subsection (h)(3)) with respect to such employment …

But three decades of legal and illegal migration has delivered roughly 45 million workers, consumers, and renters into the U.S. economy. That imported population has delivered a colossal windfall to CEOs, investors, and Wall Street.

The mass inflow of legal and illegal immigrants has helped shift roughly $500 billion a year in wages from American employees to investors, according to data in the 2016 report on immigration by the National Academies of Science.

The white-collar visa programs have helped to shrink salaries for American tech graduates and nurses, and to inflate the stock value of Fortune 500 companies by $100 billion, according to migration advocates. Those programs have also helped the C-Suite in many Fortune 500 companies by pushing millions of outspoken American professionals out of tech careers, according to data in a 2021 study by the Census Bureau.

The migration programs have also shifted wages, investment, and wealth from interior cities and states  — Detroit and West Virginia, for example — to the migration-inflated coasts.

The mass inflow of at least 20 million illegal migrant laborers has pushed many Americans into poverty. The March 22 report by the Oxfam anti-poverty group said: “more than 31.9 percent of the US labor force, or 51.9 million workers, currently make less than $15 per hour, and many are stuck at the federal minimum wage, which is less than half of that hourly rate.”

The damage was sketched out by the Washington Post‘s March 20 description of Dave Ramsey, in Lincoln Park, Mich.:

He’d modeled himself after his father, umpiring alongside him in high school and riding with him on private investigations to train as his apprentice. But if his father’s middle class ambitions had fallen apart after 50 years, Dave Jr.’s collapsed by the time he turned 20. He dropped out of school against his father’s advice so he could make some quick money laying cable, got injured at work and then got addicted to the prescription fentanyl patches. He’d gotten clean and stayed that way for the past nine years while taking care of his father and his daughters. He’d even gone back to school at night to earn his diploma, but the life available to him didn’t include the Masons, or a union job, or a thriving American middle class. Instead he’d hustled his way through a series of contracting jobs that paid a living wage one week and nothing the next, until the family’s monthly bills were so far beyond its means that Dave Sr. started burying them in the bottom of a box.

Coastal business groups are cheering the Title 42 takedown. A statement from the Zuckerberg-funded FWD.us advocacy group for West Coast investors said:

The goal should be a functional migration system broader than asylum. This requires expanding legal immigration avenues … Ending Title 42 is only one tiny piece of building that functional migration system,” said the group, whose wealthy founders gain more stock market wealth as the federal government extracts more workers, consumers, and renters for use in the U.S. economy.

But D.C. reporters are oblivious to the law and the economics, in part, because most are pressured by editors to focus on the migrants’ dramatic journeys.

In a call with Department of Homeland Security officials on Friday, agency officials invited questions from at least six favored reporters. But none of the reporters questioned the legality of releasing economic migrants into Americans’ labor market or the impact on Americans. Similarly, CNN’s Jake Tapper interviewed Mayorkas on April 1 and did not question the legality of Mayorkas’s open-borders policies.

Many polls show the public wants to like immigration and immigrants — but it also wants to prioritize fellow Americans.

For example, a March 18-21 poll of 1,050 registered voters by Echelon Insights reported that 29 percent of Americans strongly agreed that “America should not increase the number of immigrants it lets in, as immigrants could lower wages, take jobs away from Americans, and be a drain on taxpayers.”

Just 21 percent strongly agreed that “America should increase the number of immigrants it lets in, as immigrants will help address labor market shortages, start businesses, and revitalize declining cities and towns.”

The government’s operation of the nation’s immigration system is designed to deceive the public and the media about the large-scale extraction of workers and consumers from poor countries, Law said.

It’s always “Can you do just enough to deceive the public?” …  Any removals that are done by the administration are simply [driven by] bad optics, such as the Haitians congregating under the [Del Rio] bridge, when they just can’t get away from the bad publicity. [Then they] say, “Oh, we’re not totally open borders, we’re using our limited resources to get the worst actors.”

The government’s cooperation with the cartels is hidden behind theatrical enforcement of borders laws and a curtain of legal complexity, he said:

They are partners in this business transaction of importing people and workers into the United States. This is this is a mutually beneficial arrangement where the cartels are being enriched by all these people who are paying the money for the transport, and the Biden administration willingly welcomes them, helps process them, and places them wherever they want to be the inside of the country …. So this is 100% a very corrupt business arrangement between the cartels and the Biden ministration.

But the Supreme Court case is exposing the hard-nosed reality of migration behind the border theater, said Law, adding “This is a seminal moment about whether or not we are a nation that has the ability to determine who comes into our country.”

Five Young Migrant Children Abandoned on Texas Bank of Border River, One Injured

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents found five unaccompanied migrant children along the Texas side of the Rio Grande. One of the children, a six-year-old boy, suffered an injury while crossing the river by himself.

Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens tweeted photos of four unaccompanied migrant children found by agents along the Texas side of the border with Mexico. The children ranged in age from one to six years.

Chief Owens expressed his frustration with the cruelty of the smugglers who move children across the river with no family members present. “This is dangerous,” he said. “This is wrong. This is tragic.”

In another tweet, Owens reported an unaccompanied boy sustained an injury while attempting to cross the Rio Grande. An agent jumped into the river to rescue the six-year-old boy.

Agents bandaged the child’s wounds and transported him to a local hospital for treatment.

“Many of our agents volunteer to become EMTs, just to help others like this,” the chief stated.

The crossing of unaccompanied migrant children in the Del Rio Sector happens on a regular basis.

In March, agents found a five-year-old boy along the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass, Texas, Breitbart Texas reported. Two weeks earlier, agents found an abandoned toddler wandering alone along the banks of the Rio Grande in 30-degree weather. The child only had a sweatshirt-hoodie to keep her warm.

The crossing of unaccompanied migrant children along the Texas border with Mexico is dangerous and can lead to the type of injuries noted above, or even death.

In mid-March, agents found the body of a four-year-old child who was ripped from his mother’s arms as she crossed the swiftly moving currents of the Rio Grande.

Unfortunately, agents are becoming accustomed to finding small children abandoned by human smugglers — not just in Texas. In early February, as reported by Breitbart, two migrant toddlers were found roaming on the banks of the Rio Grande. In March, Tucson Sector agents found a five-year-old girl traveling with a large group of migrants along the Arizona border with Mexico.

In the first five months of this fiscal year, which began on October 1, 2021, agents found nearly 60,000 unaccompanied minors, according to a report from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This represents an increase of more than 100 percent over the same period last year.

Texas DPS spokesperson warns of ‘complete chaos' at border

Mayorkas: ‘The Fundamental Relief That Is Needed Is Immigration Reform’

1:38

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas responded to a tweet from Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) that said rescinding Title 42 is terrible for the country and will cause Democrats to lose elections by saying that people whose claims for relief are unsuccessful will be removed from the country and that “we are working with a broken immigration system, and the fundamental relief that is needed is immigration reform.”

Mayorkas stated, “I don’t look at it through a political lens, Jake. The CDC has made a determination that we are advanced in our fight against the pandemic to permit the use of Title 42 to end on May 23. We’re planning and preparing accordingly. We are a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws. When an individual makes a claim for relief in a post-Title-42 environment, when they make a claim for relief, as our laws provide, if that claim succeeds, they have established a basis to stay here. If that claim does not, they will be removed. And we very well know that the smuggling organizations manipulate the news and provide disinformation. And allow me to be explicitly clear, and I can’t say this too often, if one’s claim for relief does not succeed, one will be removed from the United States. And what I would say to Sen. Romney and to all of the senators and all of the members of the House is that we are working with a broken immigration system, and the fundamental relief that is needed is immigration reform.”

Biden, the Ersatz President

The United States does not have a real president right now. There is an individual named Joe Biden who shows up occasionally and sits in the Oval Office, but in no way can he be considered to be “President” in the traditional understanding of that term. Biden is an ersatz president.

An American president is essentially the CEO of the federal government. He or she sets the overall strategy and direction of the country, outlines and articulates its major objectives and manages the subordinate elements that create the actual policy in order to achieve the big-picture goals laid out by the president. Like any CEO, that person likely doesn’t personally have the specific technical knowledge and expertise on a micro level in a given subject area that his/her subordinates have (nor should a CEO or president get bogged down in that kind of attention-diverting minutia), but the CEO must have an overriding vision of their company’s intended direction and be able to see how the various component parts work together in the proper proportion and timing needed to achieve the stated goals. That holds true as well for the President of the United States.

Donald J. Trump was the prototypically ideal president in terms of setting clear achievement objectives for the country (securing the southern border, becoming energy independent, rebuilding our military, renegotiating advantageous international trade agreements, stopping China from taking unfair advantage of America in trade matters, getting NATO to pay more of its share of its defense needs, etc.) and putting in place the laser-focused personnel required to execute the plan.  This was classic large-scale business-style vision and management at its best.

Putting aside the unfounded, irrational personal animosity that his political opponents felt for him for having defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016 and for being direct, rough-edged and unapologetic in his dealings with the liberal media, recalcitrant foreign adversaries and feckless erstwhile “allies,” President Trump’s clear-eyed ambitions for the country led to a very targeted effort with unrelenting emphasis on the ultimate goal.

Many presidents, coming from a life-long appearance-oriented, “You-scratch-my-back-and-I’ll-scratch-yours” political background, are only too happy to compromise their objectives for the sake of popular acceptance and media adulation. For them, the final results as they redound to the country’s benefit are not their true goal. For the conventional politically minded president, an agreeable process is actually the end goal: activity that looks and sounds good, even if it’s bereft of real, meaningful substance.

Results vs. Process. Trump was a Results president. Biden is a Process president. Biden and the Democrats embark on a flurry of meaningless activity that plays well to the media and to their supporters, but which amounts to nothing of positive significance. To the extent that Biden’s empty activity subtracts from or negates President Trump’s actual beneficial results, what Biden and the Democrats are doing is incredibly harmful to this country and detrimental to a smooth-running world order.

Unlike President Trump’s clearly-stated, very specific intentions of how to improve the quality of daily life in America, Biden and the Democrats seem intent only on currying favor with special-interest groups and their accomplices, the adoring liberal media. Consider the major initiatives undertaken or proposed by the current Democratic regime:

  • The dissolution of our border integrity, with intentional unrestricted illegal immigration.
  • Ending American energy independence, curtailing fossil fuel exploration and production -- astonishingly, before a viable replacement exists! -- and imposing crippling restrictions on future fossil fuel energy industry activity.
  • Supporting destructive BLM activities and riots, favoring defunding the police, eliminating cash bail and decriminalizing what liberals laughably refer to as “low-level” crimes like shoplifting, robbery and breaking & entering.
  • Endorsing positions clearly opposed by the majority of the country, such as men competing in women’s sports, the U.S. military paying for gender-change surgery, males being able to declare that they “identify as women” and enter female bathrooms and locker rooms, elementary-age children being taught and exposed to “alternative” LGBTQ lifestyles far before children have any natural understanding or interest in such matters, and so on. This is the fringe woke speaking to the fringe woke. It’s not a government putting forth policies approved by the majority that benefit the majority.
  • Denuding our military of its equipment, mission and spirit by attempting to transform it into a mechanism for social change instead of a sharply honed, singularly aimed instrument of national security. It’s bad enough that the Biden Democrats are reducing the funding and equipping of our military. It’s even worse when Biden’s Head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff says his biggest concern is understanding “white rage.” The only thing Mark Miley should be concerned with is defeating our enemies on the battlefield. Nothing else.

This is the difference between a president concerned with bottom-line beneficial results and one who’s concerned with laughably shallow meaningless activity that amounts to nothing, other than buying the favor and future votes of niche special interest groups.

President Trump’s results-oriented approach gave us:

  • Energy independence with $2.25 per gallon gasoline vs. begging Iran for oil and $4.37 gasoline.
  • Secure, orderly, humane borders vs. human trafficking, drug infestation and illegals overwhelming our schools and healthcare system.
  • Treating 8-year-olds like 8-year-olds with worthwhile educational methods that emphasized a solid understanding of scholastic fundamentals along with a proportional appreciation for tolerance and compassionate societal norms.
  • A battle-ready military standing proud and poised to defeat any threat to American national interests.

The Biden Democrats have saddled us with the opposite. As a direct result of having an ersatz president without any semblance of worthwhile goals or inspired vision, daily life in America is now close to an unmitigated disaster. Absent America’s clear leadership on the world stage, uncertainty and potential catastrophe loom everywhere, around every corner because foreign adversaries are emboldened by our weakness. We are living through the debacle of not having a real president, someone with a clear plan to better the country.

Results are all that matter. Are you safe? Are you prosperous? Are you healthy? Are your children being educated? A real president understands all that and works to bring it about. A real president is immune to the distractions of appearances and media approval.

We don’t have a real president now.

Biden’s Border Plan: More Buses for Migrants to Reach American Jobs

President Joe Biden’s deputies have a plan for dealing with the huge wave of young illegal migrants expected at the border once they lift the Title 42 epidemic barrier: Get more buses to deliver the migrants to jobs in U.S. cities.

“Their plan is to move people into the country faster,” Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) said Wednesday. “That’s their whole plan,” he said:

They’re now presenting their plan to us of what they’re going to do when they take Title 42 off … What they have worked on apparently for a year is a way to expedite people crossing the border and moving [them] into the interior at a faster rate … They talk about “How do we actually move people to the interior faster so they don’t get clogged up at the border and the images that all of you saw [on TV] last summer don’t occur again at the border with thousands and thousands of people?”

“That is not a plan to help us with illegal immigration,” said Lankford, whose record on immigration and Oklahoma wages is mixed.

The administration’s policy is “not to make it better, but to actually make it worse,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX).

The Biden plan was outlined on March 30 by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which is run by pro-migration zealot Alejandro Mayorkas:

The strategy includes: 1) Acquiring and deploying resources to address increased volumes; 2) Delivering a more efficient and fair immigration process …

In its FY22 appropriations bill, Congress provided an additional $1.45 billion for a potential Southwest Border surge, including $1.06 billion for CBP soft-sided facilities, medical care, transportation, and personnel costs; $239.7 million for ICE for processing capacity, transportation, and personnel costs; and $150 million for FEMA’s Emergency Food and Shelter Program at the Southwest Border.

DHS will fund operational requirements by prudently executing its appropriations; reprioritizing and reallocating existing funding through reprogrammings and transfers; requesting support from other Federal agencies

The DHS process is already sending many migrants to nearby non-profits, which then use taxpayer funds and corporate donations to bus and fly the migrants to new jobs throughout the United States.

Mayorkas’ plan would let the new migrants compete for jobs and apartments against many millions of disadvantaged and ordinary Americans.

Those Americans are already facing inflation, rising rents, drug addiction, and extended jobless-ness, said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies.

CNBC reported on March 30:

Roughly 20% of [American] employees regularly run out of money between paychecks, up from 15% last year, according to the survey of more than 3,000 working adults in February.

As a result, about one-quarter of those polled said it’s harder to afford necessary expenses and one-third are unable to build savings, issues that are particularly problematic for low-to-moderate income workers.

Mayorkas refuses to detain asylum seekers until their cases are adjudicated, despite federal law requiring detention.

The Mayorkas inflow will drive down the Americans’ wages and raise families’ rents, so boosting CEO’s profits and investors’ stock values on Wall Street.

Mayorkas is backed up by progressives who wish to transform the United States from a society governed by European-origin civic culture into a progressive-led empire of competing identity groups. “We’re trying to become the first multiracial, multi-ethnic superpower in the world,” a Mayorkas ally, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), told the New York Times on March 21. “It will be an extraordinary achievement … we will ultimately triumph,” he insisted.

Mayorkas’ strategy of “efficient and fair” processing “basically means laundering the [migrants’ legal] status and then releasing them into the country,” said Krikorian. He added:

It’s no coincidence that they extended Title 42 until late May. Because what else happens in late May? The new [Mayorkas] asylum rule goes into effect. So the point of this was to keep Title 42 in place until they can [use the new asylum rule to] just rubber stamp all of these illegal immigrants as asylum recipients and then poof! There’s no more illegal aliens!

The asylum rule “is giving low-level bureaucrats authority — equivalent to Congress as a whole — to decide how many foreigners should move to the United States and become American citizens,” Krikorian said.

“The goal of the regulation is to dramatically increase the number of people successfully getting asylum and to speed that process up as much as possible,” he said.

Mayorkas’s deputies are also drafting a regulation that would expand the number of reasons that people can use to win asylum. Current rules provide asylum for people facing political persecution, but Mayorkas wants to provide asylum to people who say they are afraid of non-political crime.

Mayorkas is a Cuban-born, pro-migration zealot, and the asylum regulation is the centerpiece of his bureaucratic campaign to build a network of new migration pathways that operate outside the numerical limits set by Congress.

Mayorkas’ migration network is intended to take market share from the labor-trafficking networks run by the cartels’ criminal networks.

In 2021, DHS secretary Mayorkas allowed more than cartel-delivered 1 million economic migrants across the southern border, alongside the legal inflow of myriad visa workers and roughly 1 million legal immigrants. The inflow adds about two million people to the nation every year, just as 4 million Americans begin searching for jobs.

Once Biden lifts the Title 42 barrier, Mayorkas and his deputies expect perhaps 500,000 migrants to arrive at the border each month. That number would be higher than the number of Americans who turn 18 each month.

Progressives want Biden and Mayorkas to go further. “This will continue to be a profoundly difficult problem to manage,” admit two progressives who write the newspaper’s “Plum Line” progressive blog:

So a better political approach might be to explain these challenges forthrightly to the public. Explain that this is a hard problem, that excluding all asylum seekers isn’t an answer, and that rationalizing the system is worth attempting, deserves public patience, and could produce a better outcome than mass expulsion has.

The progressives do not consider the damage of migration to ordinary Americans’ wages and rents.

Mayorkas’ plan has “rattled some Democrats who worry it may be too soon to return to pre-pandemic immigration rules at the border,” said the Washington Post.

In 2014, a rush of migrants at the border wrecked public trust in the border policies set by President Barack Obama. Those 2014 poll numbers derailed Obama’s hopes for a mass amnesty and encouraged a New York TV personality to run for president.

In September 2021, Biden’s polls were badly damaged by the TV news coverage of the invasion by roughly 30,000 migrants at Del Rio in Texas.

A supercharged repeat of the mass migration during the 2022 election year may help Americans to recognize their shared opposition to labor migration.

That public opposition is revealed in polls, but it is suppressed by claims by investor-funded progressives that the United States is a “Nation of Immigrants.”

Since at least 1990, the D.C. establishment has used a wide variety of excuses and explanations — for example, “Nation of Immigrants” — to justify its policy of extracting tens of millions of migrants and visa workers from poor countries to serve as workers, consumers, and renters for various U.S. investors and CEOs.

The self-serving economic strategy of extraction migration has no stopping point. It is harmful to ordinary Americans because it cuts their career opportunities, shrinks their salaries and wages, raises their housing costs, and has shoved at least 10 million American men out of the labor force.

Extraction migration also distorts the economy, curbs Americans’ productivity, reduces voters’ political clout, undermines employees’ workplace rights, and widens the regional wealth gaps between the Democrats’ coastal states and the Republicans’ Heartland states.

An economy built on extraction migration also radicalizes Americans’ democratic, compromise-promoting civic culture because it allows wealthy elites to ignore despairing Americans at the bottom of society.

The economic strategy also kills many migrants, splits foreign families, and extracts wealth from the poor home countries.

Not surprisingly, the wealth-shifting extraction migration policy is very unpopular, according to a  wide variety of polls. The polls show deep and broad public opposition to labor migration and the inflow of temporary contract workers into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates.

The opposition is growinganti-establishmentmultiracialcross-sexnon-racistclass-basedbipartisanrationalpersistent, and recognizes the solidarity that Americans owe to one another.

Biden’s Next Move: Busing, Flying Thousands of Illegal Aliens into American Communities Every Day

President Joe Biden is planning to hugely expand his Catch and Release network at the United States-Mexico border, after ending the Title 42 border control authority, by increasing the number of border crossers and illegal aliens who will be put on buses and flights to American communities.

On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that the administration would end Title 42 — a broad authority that allows federal immigration officials to quickly return border crossers and illegal aliens to their native countries.

As a result, Biden officials are readily admitting that about half a million border crossers and illegal aliens are expected to show up at the U.S.-Mexico border every month. This is the equivalent of a population the size of Atlanta, Georgia, arriving at the border over the course of just 28 to 30 days.

With an impending flood of illegal immigration, the Washington Post reports that Biden’s top officials are readying an expansion of their Catch and Release network where border crossers and illegal aliens are briefly detained, bused into border towns provided by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) contracted by the federal government, and flown into American communities across the country.

Such a plan indicates that Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is planning to release thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior every day. Many of those would have likely been removed via Title 42.

The Post reports:

Biden officials are making worst-case contingency plans for daily border arrests to more than double from the current volume of more than 7,000 daily apprehensions. They are hiring contractors to add tent facilities that can help process migrants faster, along with additional buses and aircraft to transfer migrants away from the border. And they have established a command center at Department of Homeland Security headquarters staffed by interagency teams that include Federal Emergency Management Administration officials who have handled major disasters. [Emphasis added]

Either way, Biden faces an uphill climb when it comes to public opinion. A recent Economist-YouGov poll found that just 33 percent of respondents approve of Biden’s handling of immigration. The only area where the president had a lower rating was on guns, where just 27 percent approved. [Emphasis added]

The Catch and Release expansion is coupled with Biden’s seeking to drastically cut down immigration detention at the U.S.-Mexico border in favor of releasing border crossers and illegal aliens through DHS’s Alternatives to Detention (ATD) programs.

In February, for instance, Biden began releasing border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior and putting them on so-called “house arrest,” though none have primary residencies. In his latest budget proposal, Biden is looking to reduce immigration detention space while cutting off federal contracts with various detention facilities.

Though Biden previously said he did not want border policies in place that would put “two million people on our border,” the administration did just that.

In 2021, more than two million border crossers and illegal aliens arrived at the porous southern border — a foreign population larger than the resident population of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From January 2021 to August 2021, for example, more than half a million were released into the U.S. interior.

In January 2022, alone, Biden’s administration released more than 62,500 border crossers and illegal aliens into American communities. This is in addition to the tens of thousands of illegal aliens who are expected to have successfully entered the U.S., undetected by officials.

This year, experts predict more than 2.1 million will arrive.

NYT: Biden Ending Title 42 Means 18,000 Illegal Crossings Per Day at Border

The New York Times reports that President Joe Biden’s decision to end Title 42 border protections could bring a surge of migrants amounting to 18,000 illegal crossings per day — a pace that works out to over 6.5 million migrants per year.

By comparison, there were close to 6,000 migrants per day encountered by Border Patrol in December 2021.

Title 42 is a pandemic-era protection that allows authorities to turn away migrants for reasons of slowing the spread of COVID-19, and it is one of the few border enforcement tools President Biden retained from the Donald Trump era.

The Biden administration will end Title 42 on May 23, according to reports earlier this week that were confirmed Friday.

According to the Times, the Department of Homeland Security is saying it expects up to 18,000 illegal crossings per day:

The Department of Homeland Security briefed lawmakers and reporters on Tuesday about its preparations for handling as many as 18,000 illegal crossings a day, which it considers a “mass irregular migration” situation. Officials said that federal agencies were coordinating with state and local officials to put in place additional personnel, transportation, detention facilities and medical assistance along the border. The department also released an official planning document for responding to different scenarios if there is a spike in illegal immigration.

Delaying the change until later this spring gives the administration more time to prepare. But Brandon Judd, the president of the Border Patrol union, said the agency could not adequately prepare for the change in one and a half months. Expelling migrants under the public health rule takes border officials about 15 minutes, he said, compared to the usual processing, which can take hours per person.

Given that roughly 2 million migrants entered the U.S. across the border in 2021, the coming surge would see at least three times as many migrants crossing the border. The Biden administration initially dismissed surging migration as seasonal.

Open borders advocates – including those who serve in the Biden administration and on Capitol Hill – have been demanding that President Biden end Title 42 since the day he took office during a full-blown pandemic.

Title 42 is a public health provision that was invoked by the Trump administration in 2020 at the onset of the COVID pandemic, allowing for the expedited removal of people crossing our borders illegally.

While it is impossible to quantify a negative, it is reasonable to assume that preventing significant numbers of people traveling in large groups and coming from countries where vaccination rates were low to nonexistent, saved a lot of lives. Despite its success, many in the Biden administration have always viewed Title 42 not as an essential public health policy, but an obstacle to mass migration. That’s all that matters to them – public health, safety, and national sovereignty be damned.

Capitalizing on the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) assessment that the public health threat posed by COVID has abated, they finally got their wish. It was just announced that Title 42 has been terminated, effective May 23. Now the Biden administration will pivot its efforts toward managing a massive wave of illegal immigration they plan to unleash on the American public.

Leaving aside the fact that declaring complete victory over COVID may be a bit premature – new outbreaks are cropping up around the world – Title 42 is the last remaining mechanism in place allowing for any control of our borders that are already experiencing unprecedented levels of illegal immigration. Title 42 was never meant to do that, as its critics readily point out. However, considering that the Biden administration has torched just about every mechanism to deter and control illegal immigration, Title 42 has been the only thing standing between us an all-out chaos at the border.

All-out chaos at the border isn’t mere conjecture. It is precisely what the Biden administration is planning for. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has already set up a war room enlisting the aid of a panoply of federal agencies to help them manage an unprecedented surge of migrants crashing our borders once Title 42 is scrapped. Absurdly, the administration is preparing for a disaster that is entirely preventable. According to Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), DHS’s Office of Intelligence has warned the administration that a million migrants could cross the border within the first six weeks after Title 42 is ended.

Alarm bells were also set off by members of the president’s own party, particularly those who represent states and districts on the front lines of a crisis that is bound to get a lot worse come May 23. Arizona’s two (very nervous) Democratic senators, Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly, dashed off a letter to President Biden last week urging him not to cancel Title 42 without a viable plan that will control the border in its absence.

Likewise, Democratic House members whose Texas districts abut the border joined Republican colleagues in their delegation and sent a similar letter urging DHS and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to consider the impact that ending Title 42 would have on their communities. “We urge that the CDC’s Title 42 order remain in place and that DHS continue to use it until such time as the number of apprehensions along the southwest border drops to a manageable level,” they wrote. Of course, their plea to the Biden administration assumes facts not in evidence – namely that the people making the policies actually want to see illegal immigration return to “a manageable level.” Hint: they don’t – this is all by design.

Fortunately, May 23 is nearly two months away, and there are supposedly one or two semi-rational White House policymakers when it comes to immigration. This begs the question of them – do they want this presidency to be defined by chaos and lawlessness at the southern border? If not, they must reverse the termination of Title 42 and go back to the drawing board.

Gallup: 75% of Americans Dissatisfied With Nation's Direction

(CNS News) -- A new survey shows that only 24% of Americans are satisfied with the direction of the country and "three-quarters of Americans, including majorities of all party groups, are dissatisfied with the nation's direction," reported Gallup

In the poll, Gallup asked, "In general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in the United States at this time?"

In response, only 24% said they were satisfied.

(Gallup)
(Gallup)

That's up from 17% in January 2022, said Gallup, which also noted that only 7% were satisfied with the country's direction in 2008 following the housing bust.

"The latest reading is from a March 1-18 Gallup poll, which also found President Joe Biden's approval rating mired in the low 40s and economic concerns rising amid record-high gas prices and the highest inflation in four decades," said Gallup.

"Although national satisfaction is now more than double the 11% reading measured shortly after protesters violently stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, it is significantly lower than the 30% to 36% readings of last March through July," reported the survey firm.

(Gallup)
(Gallup)

On the political scale, 46% of Democrats said they were satisfied with the way things were going in the U.S., but only 23% of independents and 3% of Republicans said the same.

"Three-quarters of Americans, including majorities of all party groups, are dissatisfied with the nation's direction," said Gallup.  "Even though COVID-19 cases are waning in the U.S., economic concerns are mounting and are likely to continue to suppress national satisfaction until inflation begins to ease."

The source says nearly 8,000 migrants were apprehended on Wednesday, breaking the single-day record for migrant encounters at the southwest border. Joe Biden to Open the Border on May 23

President Joe Biden’s deputies have announced they will lift the Title 42 barrier at the southern border on May 23, allowing a vast wave of wage-cutting, rent-spiking migrants into America’s job and housing markets.

“We are increasing our capacity to process new arrivals, evaluate asylum requests,” said a statement from Alejandro Mayorkas, who heads Biden’s Department of Homeland Security and is trying to build an extra immigration system that operates alongside annual limits set by Congress.

The formal announcement implies that the president will not block the border-opening plan by his deputies.

Without the Title 42 rules, Mayorkas and his allies insist they are required to let anyone at the border appeal for asylum. The process has been overloaded, ensuring that all people who apply for asylum can legally work and live in the United States for several years.

“Their plan is to move people into the country faster,” Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) said on March 30. “That’s their whole plan.”

The administration’s policy is “not to make it better, but to actually make it worse,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) added.

“We are telling people ‘If you come to the border, and you claim asylum … You can come in,'” Sen.

“The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to … stay true to our values,” said a statement from Mayorkas, a Cuban-born, pro-migration zealot, who insists the United States is a “Nation of Immigrants.”

Leaks to establishment media outlets say 500,000 migrants may move to the border each month after Mayorkas opens the doors.

Mayorkas is trying to build a new immigration system in cooperation with corporate-funded non-profits and the countries that hope to move some of their populations into the United States. The Mayorkas system is partly intended to take market share from the cartel smuggling networks. In his April 1 statement, he said:

We will continue to work with countries throughout the Western Hemisphere to offer safe and legal pathways for migrants seeking protection or resettlement, streamline repatriations, address root causes, and take enforcement actions against the smuggling networks that entice migrants to take the dangerous and often deadly journey to our land borders.

Mayorkas’s plan would let the additional migrants compete for jobs and apartments against many millions of disadvantaged and ordinary Americans. Those Americans are already facing inflation, rising rents, drug addiction, and extended joblessness, said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies.

Mayorkas’s plan has “rattled some Democrats who worry it may be too soon to return to pre-pandemic immigration rules at the border,” said the Washington Post.

In 2021, DHS Secretary Mayorkas allowed more than 1 million cartel-delivered economic migrants across the southern border, alongside the legal inflow of myriad visa workers and roughly 1 million legal immigrants.

Biden Wants to Replace Border Detention Centers with ‘House Arrest’ and Provide Illegals with Taxpayer-Funded Attorneys

Joe Biden continues to import illegals into the United States and wants funds to put migrant border crossers under “house arrest” and provide them with taxpayer-funded attorneys to fight deportation.

The move will make the numbers at detention centers decrease while the illegal population will continue to grow inside the U.S. and will provide a road map for relatives and others who are trying to get into the U.S.

The San Antonio Express News reported the protocol could include ankle bracelets and phone apps to allegedly keep track of the thousands and thousands of people being released inside the country. The provision is buried in Biden’s $5.8 trillion 2023 budget proposal.

The Express News report said:

The president’s budget calls for cutting thousands of beds in immigrant detention facilities — and shutting down two family detention centers in Texas — while spending $75 million more on alternative programs, such as monitoring migrants with ankle bracelets or phone check-ins. The administration estimates as many as 200,000 migrants could be enrolled in such programs by October, according to budget documents.

The president is also calling for $375 million to speed up the asylum system, including hiring more than 1,000 new U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officers to adjudicate claims on the border, rather than sending them to backlogged courts.

His budget request asks for more than $2 billion to stand up emergency shelters for unaccompanied children, an effort to avoid the overcrowding in Border Patrol facilities that sparked outrage a year ago. His budget would also spend roughly $150 million to fund attorneys for migrants in detention or facing deportation, which would be a first. The government has not paid those costs in the past.

The backdrop to Biden’s border security policies is that the number of border crossers is starting to rise and is expected to surge under the president’s policies. U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz said that 7,000 migrants are being stopped every day crossing the border from Mexico, up from a daily average of about 5,900 in February, according to the Associated Press.

People on the left and conservatives are weighing in.

“I do see it as a positive indication that significant changes are coming to the border, and quite possibly very soon,” said Jorge Loweree, policy director at the American Immigration Council.

“They’re looking for catch-and-release,” said Lora Ries, a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation and a former Department of Homeland Security official.

“They’re fine with that policy, even though it clearly sends the message south to future migrants and smugglers who advertise this, and it just keeps the illegal flow continuing unencumbered,” Ries said.

Ending Title 42: Biden’s Border Policies Are ‘Unmitigated Disaster,’ Says Texas Governor

Texas Governor Greg Abbott quickly called President Joe Biden’s decision to end the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol “reckless.” Abbott added that the president’s “open-border policies are an unmitigated disaster for national security.”

“Ending Title 42 expulsions will signal to cartels and migrants alike that our southern border is now wide open — inciting even more violence, more trafficking, and more lawlessness,” Governor Abbott said in a written statement following the Biden administration announcement that it would end the Title 42 protocol. “President Biden clearly has no intention to secure the border by faithfully executing Congress’ command to detain and deport illegal immigrants.”

The governor said the decision “will only further endanger Texans, and the State of Texas must take even more unprecedented action to keep our communities safe by using any and all constitutional powers to protect its own territory.”

President Joe Biden’s administration announced on Friday that it will end the Title 42 policy on May 23, Breitbart News reported. The move is expected to bring an even-larger wave of migrants to the U.S. southern border.

“We are increasing our capacity to process new arrivals, [and] evaluate asylum requests,” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in a written statement.

Governor Abbott called Biden’s open-border policies “an unmitigated disaster for national security.”

“His recklessness has forced the State of Texas to take unprecedented steps to fill the gaps — including deploying Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and over 10,000 Texas National Guard soldiers, jailing illegal immigrants who are charged with trespassing, and becoming the first state ever to build a wall to secure the border,” the Texas governor explained. “Instead of listening to the millions of Americans that his administration has endangered — and instead of enforcing immigration laws passed by Congress — President Biden has chosen to jeopardize the safety and security of those very Americans he swore to protect and defend by ending Title 42 expulsions.”

The move by the president’s team comes as more than 209,000 migrants crossed the border from Mexico into the U.S. in March, Breitbart Texas reported. The apprehension of 209,000 migrants in March represents the highest number of migrant apprehensions for one month since March 2000 — the last year of the Clinton administration. It also breaks the Biden-era record of 200,658 set in July 2021.

The March apprehensions put the total during the first six months of Fiscal Year 2022 at more than one million, Breitbart reported. A source revealed the startling number of apprehensions appear to be still on the increase.

EXCLUSIVE: Migrant Apprehensions in March Set Record for Biden Era

The apprehension of migrants illegally crossing the southwest border with Mexico between ports of entry in March set a new Biden-era record, according to a source operating under the auspices of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 209,000 migrants in March — up from just over 169,000 last March.

Border Patrol agents in the nine southwest border sectors apprehended more than 209,000 migrants in March who illegally crossed the border between ports of entry, the source who spoke to Breitbart Texas on condition of anonymity revealed. This represents an increase of nearly 24 percent over last March when agents apprehended just over 169,000 migrants.

The apprehension of 209,000 migrants in March represents the highest number of migrant apprehensions for this month since March 2000 — the last year of the Clinton administration. It also breaks the Biden-era record of 200,658 set in July 2021.

The March apprehension total is also up significantly from the previous month when agents apprehended only 158,000 migrants — a jump of more than 32 percent.

Agents in the nation’s three busiest sectors — Rio Grande Valley, Del Rio, and Yuma — apprehended a total of more than 114,000 of the 209,000 total apprehensions. The Rio Grande Valley Sector apprehended nearly 44,000 migrants. This was followed closely by the apprehension in the Del Rio Sector of more than 41,000 and an additional 29,000 in the Yuma Sector.

The March apprehensions put the total during the first six months of Fiscal Year 2022 at more than one million, Breitbart reported. The source revealed the startling number of apprehensions that appear to still be on the increase.

The source says limited removal options are causing large amounts of released migrants. The only significant tool is the Trump era emergency Title 42 COVID-19 CDC order, which could quickly expel applicable migrants from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador with minimal administrative processing. The order, according to the source, is expected to end soon and will eliminate the widely used pathway of removal.

EXCLUSIVE: Border Patrol Apprehends 1 Million Migrants in 2022

Pelosi on Legalizing Marijuana: 'I'm All for It'

(CNSNews.com) - At many of her news conferences, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) talks about her concern for children -- "my reason to be here" (in the Congress), she said again on Thursday.

Also at Thursday's news conference, Pelosi expressed her support for the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act, which decriminalizes marijuana and eliminates criminal penalties for an individual who manufactures, distributes, or possesses marijuana. "I'm all for it," she said.

The bill also makes other changes (see below) --  including a name change -- "cannabis" instead of "marijuana" in federal legislation:

"The MORE Act that is on the floor today," Pelosi said in her opening remarks. "It's a major criminal reform bill that helps end the racial and economic injustice of marijuana decriminalization. It, ah, it's -- we're very proud of the work that has gone into it, and we would hope that it has support in the Senate."

Pelosi said the bill "is about justice."

Later, a reporter asked Pelosi what concerns Americans may have about the bill.

She noted that many states already have decriminalized marijuana, "and so this is consistent with what is happening in many states across the country. And it also addresses the injustices of it, because of what penalties had been (imposed) before the decriminalization took place. So I'm all for it," she said.

Pelosi then mentioned the "fact" that marijuana exists, is being used, and "we've got to address how it is treated legally and not in a way that mistreats people on the lower income scale -- not says, if you're wealthy, you can be engaged in all of this, but if you’re not, there are barriers to your even getting banking services in order to do it. So it's a fact of life that needed appropriate public policy to address it."

The MORE Act also:

--replaces statutory references to marijuana and marihuana with cannabis,

--requires the Bureau of Labor Statistics to regularly publish demographic data on cannabis business owners and employees,

--establishes a trust fund to support various programs and services for individuals and businesses in communities impacted by the war on drugs,

--imposes an excise tax on cannabis products produced in or imported into the United States and an occupational tax on cannabis production facilities and export warehouses,

--makes Small Business Administration loans and services available to entities that are cannabis-related legitimate businesses or service providers,

--prohibits the denial of federal public benefits to a person on the basis of certain cannabis-related conduct or convictions,

--prohibits the denial of benefits and protections under immigration laws on the basis of a cannabis-related event (e.g., conduct or a conviction),

--establishes a process to expunge convictions and conduct sentencing review hearings related to federal cannabis offenses, and

--directs the Government Accountability Office to study the societal impact of cannabis legalization.

Tom Cotton: Joe Biden Will Keep Foreign Drug Dealers in U.S.

NEIL MUNRO

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) slammed President Joe Biden’s administration amid evidence that his deputies want to minimize the deportation of illegal migrants who are caught dealing deadly drugs.

“It’s the Biden administration policy to allow illegal aliens to stay in America even after they: -Deal fentanyl and heroin -Commit fraud -Commit assault -Drive drunk -Launder money,” Cotton tweeted February 8.

“More than 80,000 Americans died from drug overdoses last year. And the Biden administration just announced that deporting illegal alien cartel members who deal with fentanyl and heroin is no longer a priority for his administration,” he added.

For more than 20 years, many Americans have been killed by drunk-driving illegals, including many killed after federal and state officials decide not to deport illegals.

It's the Biden administration policy to allow illegal aliens to stay in America even after they:

— Tom Cotton (@TomCottonAR) February 8, 2021

The Washington Post reported February 7 how Biden’s deputies are changing deportation priorities for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency:

While ICE’s new operational plans are not yet final, interim instructions sent to senior officials point to a major shift in enforcement. Agents will no longer seek to deport immigrants for crimes such as driving under the influence and assault, and will focus instead on national security threats, recent border crossers and people completing prison and jail terms for aggravated felony convictions.

“Generally, these convictions would not include drug based crimes (less serious offenses), simple assault, DUI, money laundering, property crimes, fraud, tax crimes, solicitation, or charges without convictions,” acting director Tae Johnson told senior officials in a Thursday email advising them on how to operate while new guidelines are finalized.

“The priority for the enforcement of immigration laws will be on those who are imposing a national security threat, of course, a public safety threat, and on recent arrivals,” Biden spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in the February 8 White House press briefing:

Nobody is saying that DUIs or assaults are acceptable behavior, and those arrested for such activities should be tried and sentenced as appropriate by local law enforcement. But we’re talking about the prioritization of who is going to be deported from the country.

The priority list for deportations also excludes migrants who take American’ jobs and wages. This policy will largely abandon the task of protecting Americans’ right to a national labor market.

Biden has repeatedly declared he wants to make the nation’s immigration system more “fair” to migrants. Since January 20, he has minimized deportations, stopped construction of the border wall, offered an amnesty to migrants, broken anti-migration deals with three counties, and has lowered legal barriers to migration.

However, he has said little or nothing about how he will protect Americans’ rights, wages, safe streets, and reasonable housing from foreign criminals or job seekers. A February 2 statement said:

President Biden’s strategy is centered on the basic premise that our country is saferstronger, and more prosperous with a fair, safe and orderly immigration system that welcomes immigrants, keeps families together, and allows people—both newly arrived immigrants and people who have lived here for generations—to more fully contribute to our country.

Amid Biden’s inrush of migrants and shutdown of deportations, more than 20 million Americans are unemployed or are stuck in part-time jobs.

Biden is also rolling back protections for American graduates, who have lost at least one million jobs because Fortune 500 CEOs and their subcontractors have hired more than 1 million foreign graduates for jobs sought by Americans.

In a separate tweet, Cotton lambasted Biden’s team for dropping a rule that would protect American graduate from losing jobs to H-1B graduate visa-workers who are willing to work for low wages in the hope of getting green cards:

Big Tech abuses the H-1B visa program to hire cheap foreign labor instead of Americans. That isn’t good for American workers, but the Biden administration is letting companies get away with it.https://t.co/YIolIoyqJl

— Tom Cotton (@SenTomCotton) February 5, 2021

For years, a wide variety of pollsters have shown deep and broad opposition to labor migration — or the hiring of temporary contract workers into the jobs sought by young U.S. graduates.

The multiracialcross-sexnon-racistclass-basedpriority-driven, and solidarity-themed opposition to labor migration coexists with generally favorable personal feelings toward legal immigrants and immigration in theory.

Joe Biden's deputies attack Americans' right to their own national labor market, by quietly barring the deportation of illegal migrants who take Americans' wages and jobs.

Attorney General Bonta Announces 180 Felony Arrests During Investigation Targeting Westside Verdugo Criminal Street Gang in San Bernardino

Contact: (916) 210-6000, agpressoffice@doj.ca.gov

SAN BERNARDINO  California Attorney General Rob Bonta, San Bernardino Police Chief David Green, and San Bernardino District Attorney Jason Anderson today announced the results of a joint investigation into the Westside Verdugo criminal street gang. In June, the police department requested assistance with its investigation of the gang’s violent criminal activity from the California Department of Justice’s Special Operations Unit. Together with the district attorney’s office and other local law enforcement partners, the team made 180 felony arrests, shut down 30 illegal gambling establishments, and seized 92 handguns, 19 assault weapons, $295,870 in U.S. currency, as well as hundreds of pounds of illicit drugs over the course of the investigation. Yesterday, the investigation culminated in a largescale operation with agents executing 34 search warrants, arresting 31 suspects, and seizing 11 firearms at multiple sites in San Bernardino County.

“Members and associates of this gang have committed violent crimes in San Bernardino with no regard for the people in the community who are directly or indirectly harmed,” said Attorney General Rob Bonta. “This investigation and yesterday’s arrests and seizures have removed dangerous individuals from our streets and firearms from the hands of those who would choose to commit violent crimes. The results of this investigation could also assist law enforcement in solving other cases in the area. The partnership between our agents and local law enforcement made this possible, and I’m thankful to every person involved in this successful investigation.”

“As decriminalization initiatives continue to undermine the safety of our community, we have never been more reliant on our law enforcement partners,” said San Bernardino Police Chief David Green

“The scale of this multiagency operation speaks to the commitment we have to eradicate criminal street gangs across San Bernardino County, particularly one with such a violent history as the Westside Verdugo gang,” said San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson. “Violent crime is on the rise, and several of the defendants we have filed against are facing their 3rd strike, indicating a propensity for criminal behavior. The success of this takedown was due to the tremendous efforts of the San Bernardino Police Department and the Department of Justice in conducting the investigation, and the tenacity of our specialized gang unit prosecutors. We will use everything in our toolkit including weapon enhancements, gang enhancements, prior convictions, and prior strike convictions to ensure maximum accountability from these defendants, keeping career criminals off the streets of San Bernardino and out of our communities.”

Westside Verdugo has an extensive criminal history in the San Bernardino area. The gang is suspected of multiple violent crimes including assault, attempted murder, and murder.

Over the course of the investigation, numerous violent crimes were prevented, including shootings and armed robberies. Evidence collected during the investigation also assisted in solving two homicides in the area. Agents also shut down 30 illegal gambling establishments and seized over 100 illegal gambling machines and devices. These establishments were operated by members and associates of Westside Verdugo and brought in tens of thousands of dollars a week for the gang. In 2021, five homicides, four attempted murders, and multiple other crimes were linked to these sites.

DOJ’s Special Operations Unit is a collaborative investigative effort between DOJ and the California Highway Patrol. The unit provides statewide enforcement for combating violent career criminals, gangs, and organized crime groups, along with intrastate drug traffickers. These unique and essential teams use the latest technology and advanced investigative techniques and work alongside local law enforcement to enhance investigations into violent criminals and organized crime throughout the state.

SAN BERNARDINO: 52 gang members indicted in drug sales, smuggling case

By BRIAN ROKOS | brokos@scng.com | The Press-Enterprise

Fifty-two members and associates of San Bernardino’s largest criminal gang were indicted Thursday on narcotics trafficking charges, the FBI said.

Of those 52, 21 people were arrested Thursday, and 22 already were in custody on unrelated charges, according to an FBI news release. The other  nine are being sought.

All were charged with conspiracy to distribute and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and heroin. Seven also are charged with distributing the narcotics, the FBI said. The indictment, unsealed Thursday, was the result of a yearslong investigation by federal, state, county and city authorities that targeted the West Side Verdugo gang.

The defendants face 10 years to life in prison if convicted, the FBI said.

San Bernardino police Lt. Rich Lawhead, who was part of the team that made the arrests, said that in addition to drug pushing, West Side Verdugo members are responsible for several homicides and assaults in the city.

“All our street gangs are a problem,” Lawhead said. “They create an environment of fear. Gangs in general are responsible for a majority of our homicides and a lot of the other illegal activity in the city.”

Most of the 90-page indictment is devoted to summaries of 502 separate phone calls or text messages intercepted by authorities in which the sales of heroin and meth were discussed in coded language. Other messages discussed smuggling drugs to inmates, including those in the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, and Corcoran and Ironwood state prisons.

There were also conversations about money owed, the collection of “drug taxes” from dealers allowed to set up in gang territory, and the enforcement of gang rules.

The conversations occurred from Aug. 26, 2010, to Jan. 16, 2012.

“A lot of these people were shocked when we showed up,” Lawhead said, noting the amount of time that had passed since the investigation began. “But the wheels of justice do move.”

Lawhead said he hoped the arrests would dissuade youngsters from joining gangs.

The release said the Verdugo gang and its affiliates are linked to the Mexican Mafia prison gang. The indictment outlines how some of the proceeds generated by narcotic sales were funneled to the Mexican Mafia.

Some of the drugs were dealt at what was described as the “7th Street Park.” FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said that was a reference to La Plaza Park on Mt. Vernon Avenue, at Seventh Street on San Bernardino’s west side.

Lawhead said heroin has been sold at that park for years, and that the city’s officers patrol La Plaza and other parks in an effort to deter drug dealers.

Gang members went to great lengths to smuggle drugs to inmates, according to the indictment. One person, identified as “Martinez,” was told to sneak drugs into West Valley Detention Center by getting himself arrested and booked into the facility. His plan was foiled, however, when a police officer merely wrote a citation for an unspecified offense.

“There wasn’t anyone who wanted to go to jail today – I guarantee you that,” Lawhead said.

Other agencies participating in the investigation and arrests, according to the FBI, were the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, San Bernardino County Probation Department, Los Angeles Police Department, LA County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Joint investigation into San Bernardino street gang nets 180 arrests, firearms, drugs

Tentacles of operation allegedly reached into Los Angeles and Orange counties

A yearlong investigation into a San Bernardino street gang’s criminal activity has netted 180 arrests, shuttered 30 illegal gambling operations and resulted in the seizure of more than 100 assault weapons and handguns, authorities announced Thursday.

San Bernardino police last year began investigating illegal firearms sales involving Westside Verdugo, a Latino street gang rooted in the city for roughly 70 years.

But early on in the investigation, police realized they were dealing with something much bigger than just illicit gun sales, Police Chief David Green said during a news conference Thursday at the San Bernardino Police Department, where dozens of assault weapons and handguns seized by police during the investigation were spread across a table. Also on display was a large electronic gambling machine.San Bernardino Police Chief David Green announces 180 arrests made and 111 firearms seized during a multiagency operation targeting the Westside Verdugo criminal street gang during a press conference at the San Bernardino Police Station in San Bernardino on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021. “As they started doing more analysis on these cases, they were recognizing it was a little more coordinated and a little more significant than what they initially realized, and that’s when they started pursuing it as more of a conspiracy type of investigation,” Green said. The investigation and subsequent arrests extended into Orange and Los Angeles counties, he said.

Several agencies enlisted

In June, the investigation ramped up when the San Bernardino Police Department asked the state attorney general’s Special Operations Unit to join in. The Santa Ana Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol also assisted in the investigation, which culminated Wednesday when officers fanned out across San Bernardino County, serving 34 search warrants, arresting 31 people and seizing 111 firearms at multiple locations.

During the course of the investigation, coined “Operation Westside Jenga,” police seized 92 handguns, 19 assault weapons, more than $295,000 in cash and hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin and fentanyl. Several potential shootings and armed robberies were thwarted, and evidence collected by investigators during the investigation assisted in the closure of two homicide cases, police said.

Additionally, investigators infiltrated and shut down 30 illegal gambling operations and seized more than 100 high-end gambling machines. The facilities were linked to five homicides, four attempted murders and other crimes in 2021, authorities said.

Gambling operations

The gambling operations — which housed high-end gambling machines, most of them acquired on the black market and imported from China — were bringing in tens of thousands of dollars a week and were operated out of private residences, warehouses and closed businesses, Green said.

He said the gambling facilities were a joint-enterprise between Westside Verdugo and the Mexican Mafia, the patriarchal prison gang that receives a share of profits from drug sales and other illicit business carried out by Westside Verdugo and other Latino street gangs in the form of “taxes.” Some of that revenue was reinvested into the gambling operations.

“It has a hierarchy. It has its own business model. It’s an illicit business model, but it’s one that’s very lucrative nonetheless,” Green said.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta said the people of San Bernardino “can go to bed tonight knowing their community is safer.”

“We’re putting serious criminals behind bars,” Bonta said, adding that he was proud of the results of the investigation not only as attorney general, but also as a father. “Every child in California deserves to grow up in a safe neighborhood — a neighborhood that is free from violence, a neighborhood without gun violence.”

Feds not involved

Green said authorities opted to handle the prosecution locally without the help of the federal government, which often takes down such large criminal enterprises using the Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act, referred to as the RICO Act.

“We’re not pursuing a federal prosecution in this case because we have the local District Attorney’s Office that we feel is going to be able to give us a successful prosecutorial outcome,” Green said. “But these types of cases are often handled by federal prosecutors under that RICO statute.”

San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson said his office has so far charged 45 defendants with various felony offenses, which include a total of 57 firearm enhancements and 41 gang enhancements. Six of the defendants are facing third strikes, Anderson said.

“Our role is twofold in this particular instance. Number one is we are going to punish these individuals as severely as we possibly can, and number two, we’re going to separate them from an otherwise law-abiding community for as long as we can,” Anderson said.

More criminal charges are expected, authorities said.

“Many of these cases are still under review, and we are expecting many more charges to be filed,” Green said. “Some of them will be tried jointly, and some of them will be parsed out separately.”

Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute has testified before a Congressional committee that in 2004, 95% of all outstanding warrants for murder in Los Angeles were for illegal aliens; in 2000, 23% of all Los Angeles County jail inmates were illegal aliens and that in 1995, 60% of Los Angeles’s largest street gang, the 18th Street gang, were illegal aliens.

Texas DPS: Mexican Cartels Committing Murders in the U.S.

Drug cartel gunmen are crossing the border to commit murders in Texas, authorities claim. The statements by officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety directly clash with longstanding claims by local police chiefs who routinely say that border cities are safe.

“These criminal organizations come across from Mexico to the U.S. side and they kill individuals. they murder individuals,” Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Lieutenant Chris Olivarez told Sara Carter with Fox News. “We have had several incidents that have taken place along the border using professional-type weapons the way they carry out these killings, very professional, very methodical.”

The statements by Olivarez come at a time when both DPS and the Texas National Guard increased their law enforcement presence along the border in response to record-breaking human and drug smuggling activity by criminal organizations like the Gulf Cartel and the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas.

The statements made by Olivarez clash with the longstanding narrative by several politicians, local police chiefs, and sheriffs who claim that border cities are safe. Those claims are usually backed up by statistics from the FBI Uniform Crime Report. However as Breitbart Texas has reported, the UCR only looks at seven specific crimes and does not account for criminal activity that is specific to border cities such as kidnappings, extortion, drug trafficking, human smuggling, and human trafficking.

Additionally, the terminology used by police departments for the UCR report allows them to hide the severity of certain crimes. One example particular to border cities deals with home invasions, where teams of gunmen storm into a house looking for drugs or cash. As Breitbart Texas has reported, home invasions are reported in the UCR report only as robberies.

Surge in Fentanyl Seizures Show Cartels Taking Advantage of Lax Border Policies, DHS Officials Say

Customs and Border Protection's fentanyl seizures skyrocketed by over 40 percent in the month of October, as drug traffickers and cartels take advantage of the border crisis.

Agency data show that CBP agents last month captured nearly 1,050 pounds of the lethal opioid, the fifth-highest amount in three years. For comparison, the amount of fentanyl seized in October is more than 2.5 times the amount the agency seized in the first three months of 2019 and roughly 40 percent of the amount seized in all of 2019.

The high amount of fentanyl busts coincides with skyrocketing opiate overdoses across the country—the Centers for Disease Control recorded a record-high 12-month overdose death toll between March 2020 and March 2021 with no signs of deceleration through the end of this year. The seizures also come as President Joe Biden reverses a number of border policies, a decision that critics say grants more opportunities for criminal elements to smuggle drugs into the country.

One senior Department of Homeland Security official told the Washington Free Beacon that drug smugglers are accelerating their operations as agents on the border face resource and manpower constraints with processing asylum claims instead of trying to stop drug smugglers.

"Cartels are exploiting the migrant crisis to expand drug and human smuggling," one senior DHS official said. "The administration knew full well that using agents to process mass groups of economic migrants would mean reducing the effort to combat crime. They alone own these failures."

The Biden administration has touted high seizure numbers as a success. Deputy White House Press Secretary Andrew Bates on Nov. 2 tweeted out an excerpt from an MSNBC piece that said, "The [fentanyl] seizures disprove one of the [GOP's] favorite talking points: If the president had implemented an ‘open-border' policy, as the right routinely claims, U.S. Customs and Border Protection wouldn't have stopped these shipments."

Officials within Border Patrol and DHS disputed that characterization by the White House, with the senior DHS official calling Bates's comment "galaxy brain" thinking.

Many states have pinned much of the blame for the opioid crisis on the Biden administration's immigration policies, calling them reckless and a public health threat.

West Virginia, which has been among the states hardest hit by the opioid crisis, in August filed a lawsuit against DHS and Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the department's decision to end the Trump-era Migrant Protection Protocols, which force asylum seekers to remain in Mexico before their court dates in the United States. The state alleged in court that the decision contributed to the "devastating deadly flood of fentanyl across the Southwest border."

"By its consequences burdening and distracting the Border Patrol, the termination of the [Migrant Protection Protocols] decreases the security of the border against fentanyl trafficking between ports of entry, leading directly to both increased numbers of smuggling attempts and increased rates of success in evading Border Patrol," the lawsuit stated. Missouri in April filed a similar suit against DHS.

Research has found that just two milligrams of fentanyl can cause a lethal overdose in people with no prior use of the drug, meaning the amount of the drug seized in October alone could kill over 200 million people.

The influx of fentanyl from across the border has led to bipartisan efforts in Congress to ramp up law-enforcement efforts to arrest and prosecute dealers and traffickers. A group of Republican and Democratic senators in September introduced the Providing Officers with Electronic Resources Act, which provides grants to local law-enforcement agencies for portable fentanyl screening devices.

Marxists Are Killing Each Other to Control America’s Cocaine Market

The deadliest Marxist guerrilla force is fighting the biggest socialist regime.

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism.

“Socialism, this is the path to save the planet, I don’t have the least doubt. Capitalism is the road to hell," Venezuela's Hugo Chavez told the 2009 Copenhagen climate conference.

Rhetoric like that won the socialist dictator the admiration of socialists from Barack Obama to Noam Chomsky. But the dirty little secret of the socialist revolution in Venezuela was that it was a front for a massive drug smuggling operation. Chavez and his successor, Nicolas Maduro, gutted Venezuela's rich oil resources and turned the country into a socialist drug cartel.

“Venezuela and its revolution will endure under the proven leadership of vice president Maduro,” Sean Penn promised. The population has fled or is starving, but the revolution endures.

In 2020, Maduro and top officials of his regime were indicted in the United States as leaders of the Cartel de los Soles for conspiring with FARC to smuggle tons of cocaine to the United States. Venezuela’s biggest asset was its border with Colombia. Cuba, which had backed FARC and other narcoterrorists in Colombia, scored a big win with the socialist takeover in Venezuela.

FARC, a Marxist-Leninist narcoterrorist group, coordinated with Venezuela’s government to smuggle drugs to Cuba and from there to the United States. Every day planes take off from Venezuela delivering hundreds of tons of Colombian cocaine each year meant for America.

Hugo Chavez once claimed that capitalism destroyed Mars. There’s no word on that, but his brand of socialism certainly destroyed Venezuela taking it from prosperity to starvation.

And it’s destroying the rest of the region.

Marxists smuggling cocaine aren’t exactly showcasing an ideal alternative socialist economic system to free enterprise. The Colombian-Venezuelan drug route is being threatened, not by Colombia which was pressured by Obama into giving in to FARC, but by two groups of Marxist-Leninist coke fiends who are fighting it out over the drug trade like filthy capitalists.

The National Liberation Army (ELN), a Marxist-Leninist terror group set up by the Cubans, has been fighting a FARC splinter group known as the 10th Front or the Eastern Bloc. Both leftist terror groups are Marxist-Leninist in orientation, although ELN has a lot more liberation theology in the mix, and both make their money from drugs and the occasional kidnapping.

ELN and the 10th Front aren’t fighting over ideological differences, but over drugs and money.

A fawning article in Jacobin magazine describes ELN as a "group of students" who were "inspired by the Cuban Revolution, Che Guevara, and Liberation Theology". The four page article never mentions cocaine even though that's what ELN actually does. Last year, Colombia seized $300 million in cocaine from the Marxist-Leninist narcoterrorist organization.

Che would be proud.

After FARC’s implosion as a viable force, Venezuela’s government formed a drug smuggling alliance with ELN. That drew it into a conflict with the 10th Front which is now conducting a guerrilla war against Venezuela. After a long alliance, FARC and Venezuela are fighting each other with the most fearsome Marxist guerrilla force in the region fighting the leading Socialist regime. The same forces that had terrorized Colombia for so long have turned on each other.

Venezuelan soldiers are dying in border clashes, and invading Colombia to terrorize local villagers in the hopes of shutting down the ELN’s Marxist drug rivals. They’re getting blown up, ambushed, and shot up when they’re not being hit with human rights violations complaints.

 It’s socialism at its finest.

The 10th Front is allied with Brazil's Red Command which was born as a prison pact between Communists and criminals under the slogan, “Peace, Justice and Freedom”. Red Command is involved in Brazil's drug trafficking at every level from slum dealing to club parties for the children of the elite. The Red Command helps the 10th Front remain in the field even though Cuba is on the side of Venezuela and the ELN narcoterrorists that it had originally set up.

Neither side is even bothering to pretend that this is about any kind of ideological differences.

What’s at stake here is a simple matter of market economics. Americans spend about $25 billion on coke every year. Moving drugs through Central America to the Caribbean provides a piece of not only the American, but the European cocaine market. The rival Marxist drug smugglers are competing to be the exclusive suppliers of Colombian cocaine to that huge market.

Think of it as the cola wars, but with actual cocaine. The glorious Marxist revolution is down to two groups of Marxist-Leninists killing each other to make a killing on cocaine in California.

It’s like Coke vs. Pepsi if both companies were run by Marxist druglord terrorists.

When Obama pushed Colombia to cut a peace deal with FARC and then cut off the flow of Cuban refugees, he also helped restart the flow of cocaine to America from Cuba. The subsequent collapse of Venezuela’s economy and its oil industry has left it few options. Smuggling cocaine takes a lot less skill than refining crude or running a country. And Venezuela’s military makes it the best armed drug cartel in the hemisphere, if not the planet.

Which other drug cartel in the region has its own attack helicopters to deploy in the field?

But Venezuelan soldiers are paid with food and worthless scrip. FARC and ELN recruits are often local peasants who are kidnapped and drafted into the fight. The real money goes to the elites on both sides of a drug war that is now a cocaine civil war between narcosocialists.

Karl Marx claimed that capitalism was destined to destroy itself. Instead, Marxist regimes and movements hold the world record for self-destruction. South of the border the Marxists who once won the hearts of the American Left have become drug dealers shooting it out in the jungle over who gets a cut of the cocaine that ends up in the noses of their Yankee comrades.

Marx had metaphorically called religion the opiate of the masses. Marxism has become the actual cocaine of the masses. Just ask the Marxist-Leninists kidnapping, torturing and killing each other to socialize the cocaine market.

GRAPHIC EXCLUSIVE: Gulf Cartel Commander Killed in Mexican Border City

A Gulf Cartel commander and four of his bodyguards died Thursday morning during a shootout with the Mexican military near the Texas border.

The shootout took place in Miguel Aleman, where soldiers clashed with a Gulf Cartel strike team led by “Commander Tilin.”

While the real name of the commander is not publicly known, each of his henchmen wore tactical vests with Tilin’s logo.

One was a female who was fatally injured in the shootout despite efforts to save her by responding medical personnel.

According to information provided to Breitbart Texas by Mexican law enforcement sources, Tilin and his security detail were in Miguel Aleman on Thursday morning when they encountered a military patrol. The incident turned into a chase with both sides exchanging fire.

The shootout set off blockades throughout the city. The military did not sustain any casualties.

The shootout comes at a time when the Gulf Cartel is waging a fierce turf war against the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas, which has forced the Gulf to deploy substantial numbers of gunmen.

Editor’s Note: Breitbart Texas traveled to Mexico City and the states of Tamaulipas, Coahuila, and Nuevo León to recruit citizen journalists willing to risk their lives and expose the cartels silencing their communities.  The writers would face certain death at the hands of the various cartels that operate in those areas including the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas if a pseudonym were not used. Breitbart Texas’ Cartel Chronicles are published in both English and in their original Spanish. El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a pair of heavily armed human smugglers at an interior immigration checkpoint in New Mexico as they attempted to move 18 migrants in a U-Haul trailer.

Las Cruces Station Border Patrol agents assigned to the Highway 185 immigration checkpoint interdicted a human smuggling attempt involving a U-Haul pickup truck hauling a trailer packed with migrants, according to a tweet from El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez. The agents also stopped the scout vehicle escorting the migrants.

During a search of the vehicles, the agents found 18 migrants being smuggled into the U.S. interior. They also found and seized a 9 mm firearm, an AK-47 rifle, and a 12 gauge shotgun, Chavez reported.

The agents arrested the two alleged human smugglers and the 18 migrants who are illegally present in the United States.

Elsewhere along the New Mexico border, Santa Teresa agents rescued a migrant woman who became injured and lost after illegally crossing the border from Mexico into the United States. Chief Chavez reported agents in the El Paso Sector, which includes parts of West Texas and New Mexico, carried out at least 256 rescues of migrants so far this fiscal year. The new fiscal year began on October 1, 2020.

A Texas Department of Public Safety Air Division helicopter aircrew captured images of a large group of migrants using a rope to make their way across the Rio Grande from Mexico. The group consisted of more than 100 migrants crossing in the single event near Eagle Pass, Texas.

Video tweeted by Fox News reporter Bill Melugin shows the view from a Texas DPS helicopter as a group of more than 100 migrants made their way across the Rio Grande by using a rope to battle the swiftly moving currents. As the video continues, the size of the group becomes more apparent.

Human Smugglers utilize large groups of migrants crossing the border at the same time as a strategy to tie up Border Patrol resources, Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens previously stated. Near the end of the video, multiple Border Patrol agents and vehicles are seen preparing to process and transport the migrant group.

Earlier this week, Chief Owens tweeted a photo of agents tied up near Eagle Pass with another large group of 187 migrants.

Over the past weekend alone, agents in this sector apprehended 2,526 migrants — including 71 unaccompanied children and 516 family units, Breitbart Texas reported. Chief Owens added that Del Rio Sector agents are averaging between 1,000 and 1.500 migrant apprehensions per day.

The record-setting pace of border crossings in this sector led Chief Owens to curtail many regular duties — including patrolling the border. Breitbart Texas’ Randy Clark, a retired Border Patrol supervisor with 32 years of experience, reported. He observed agents were largely absent along the border during a recent check.

“A constant flow of migrants crossed the Rio Grande and searched for law enforcement authorities to surrender to this week,” Clark wrote. “In the busiest migrant crossing areas around the city, authorities were largely absent. The options available to the migrants were Texas Army National Guard soldiers positioned along the riverbank and near common crossing points.”

The Texas DPS helicopter aircrew patrols the border under Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star border security mission.

Just How Large Is the Illegal Immigrant Population?
Illegal Immigrant Population Increases
More Than 1 Million in Last Year

Washington, D.C. (March 31, 2022) – This week’s episode of the Center for Immigration Studies’ weekly podcast highlights a new report, which provides an estimate of the illegal immigrant population. The analysis finds that the illegal immigrant population increased 1.1 million for the year starting January 2021, when Biden took office. The Center’s preliminary population estimate for February 2022 is 11.5 million.

Dr. Steven Camarota, the Center’s director of research and the report’s lead author, discusses the importance of this new estimate. Until this analysis was published, the latest numbers available were for 2018. He explains the various ways the population can be counted and how the dips and increases in the population numbers can be explained by the policies governing immigration at the particular times. Camarota also weighs in on past reports that estimated the population to be vastly larger than the 11 million typically referenced.

In the closing commentary, Mark Krikorian, the Center’s executive director and the host of Parsing Immigration Policy, wishes the audience a happy National Border Control Day. March 31 is the birthday of late civil rights icon Cesar Chavez, founder of the United Farm Workers union and a fierce opponent of illegal immigration and supporter of tight border controls. In a 1974 interview, Chavez said, “There’s an awful lot of illegals coming in. . . . They’re coming in by the thousands, it’s just unbelievable. See, they’re coming in with the consent of the immigration service.” What would Chavez think about the crisis at the border today?

Illegal Immigrant Population Increases More Than 1 Million in Last Year
Number fell 2019 to 2021, is now back to pre-pandemic level
Washington, D.C. (March 29, 2022) -An analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies of the government’s monthly “household survey” finds that the illegal immigrant population was 11.4 million in January of 2022 — a 1.1 million increase over January 2021 when President Biden took office and the on-going border surge began.  The Center’s preliminary population estimate for February 2022 is 11.5 million.  Analysis of the survey also shows that the total foreign-born population (legal and illegal together) hit a new record high of 46.7 million in February of this year.

DHS’s illegal population data is dated – the latest analysis estimated the numbers for 2018 - partly because they, and other researchers, rely on survey data that takes a long time to be released.  By using the monthly household survey, the Center has been able to produce up-to-date estimates that reflect current conditions.

“The number of illegal immigrants grew dramatically this past year as the result of Biden administration policies which released most of the people encountered at the border and stopped  most interior enforcement,” said Dr. Steven Camarota, the Center’s director of research and the report’s lead author.  He added, “Absent a change in policy it seems certain the illegal immigrant population will continue to grow rapidly.”
Among the findings:
  • We estimate that in January of 2022 there were 11.4 million illegal immigrants in the country — more than a 1 million increase over the 10.2 million in January of 2021.  Our preliminary estimate for February of this year is 11.5 million.
  • The 10.2 million in January 2021 represented a significant decline from the 11.5 million illegal immigrants we estimate for January of 2019.
  • Overall we find that the illegal population in January and February of 2022 is similar to the number in January 2019.
  • The statistical margin of error in our illegal immigrant estimates in 2022 is ± 270,000, assuming a 90 percent confidence level.  However, as with any estimate of illegal immigrants there is also non-statistical error in our numbers.
  • The monthly CPS also shows that the total foreign born population (legal and illegal together) grew to 46.7 million in February of 2022, a new record high in American history and an increase of 1.7 million since January of 2021.
  • Illegal immigrants account for more than one million or about two-thirds of the increase in the total foreign born since January of 2021.
  • To place the 1.7 million growth in the total foreign-born population (legal and illegal) in the last 13 months in perspective, in the 48 months of the Trump presidency (January of 2017 to December 2020) the total foreign born increased 1.5 million.
  • For the illegal immigrant population or the foreign-born population in general to grow, new arrivals must exceed emigration and deaths. Births to the foreign born, legal or illegal, in the U.S. do not add to the illegal immigrant population or the overall foreign-born — all children born in the U.S. are by definition native-born.

This analysis represents our first attempt to estimate the illegal immigrant population, also referred to as the unauthorized or undocumented, using the monthly Current Population Survey (CPS) or “household survey”. The estimated size and growth of the illegal immigrant population are important because, unlike border apprehension figures, the number of illegal immigrants living in the country is what ultimately determines their impact.

The population of illegal immigrants in the United States has jumped by 1.1 million in President Joe Biden’s first year, says a report released Tuesday by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS).

CIS said in an announcement distributed to the press that the data from the Department of Homeland Security is from 2018, so it used the federal government’s “household survey” to get more current information about the number of illegal aliens inside the country.

Data from the survey showed the illegal alien population was 11.4 million in January of 2022. The center’s preliminary population estimate for February 2022 is 11.5 million.

“The number of illegal immigrants grew dramatically this past year as the result of Biden administration policies which released most of the people encountered at the border and stopped most interior enforcement,” Steven Camarota, the Center’s director of research and the report’s lead author, said.

“Absent a change in policy it seems certain the illegal immigrant population will continue to grow rapidly,” Camarota said.

The Center describes its work, in part:

The estimated size and growth of the illegal immigrant population are important because, unlike border apprehension figures, the number of illegal immigrants living in the country is what ultimately determines their impact. The [Current Population Survey] also shows that the total foreign-born population (legal and illegal together), reached 46.7 million in February 2022, a new record high, and an increase of 1.7 million since January 2021.

The Department of Homeland Security, whose methodology we base our analysis on, has illegal estimates only through January 2018. Part of the reason for this is that they, like other researchers, rely on the Census Bureau’s annual American Community Survey (ACS) to generate their estimates of illegal immigrants. The ACS is a larger survey than the CPS, producing more statistically robust estimates; however, it is only released once a year many months after the data is collected. Moreover, the Census Bureau reports the 2020 ACS was not accurate due to the pandemic. Using the monthly CPS allows us to produce timely estimates that reflect current conditions.

Other findings of the analysis include:

The statistical margin of error for the illegal immigrant estimates in 2022 is plus or minus 270,000 with a 90 percent confidence level.

“However, as with any estimate of illegal immigrants there is also non-statistical error in our numbers,” CIS stated.

Exclusive–Kobach: Biden’s Immigration Policy May Soon Get Much Worse

While the mainstream media focuses 24/7 on the war over the territorial sovereignty of Ukraine, the territorial sovereignty of the United States may get even worse.  The open-borders Left has been putting intense pressure on the Biden Administration to end the use of “Title 42” removals at the border—a policy that Biden’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is about to review in April.

Title 42 removals are based on the provision of federal law found at 42 U.S.C. § 265 that empowers the president “to prohibit, in whole or in part, the introduction of persons and property” into the United States in order to stop a contagious disease from spreading.  President Trump’s CDC issued an order announcing the use of this provision on March 20, 2020, to stop the spread of COVID-19; and the Biden Administration has kept it in place.  It allows the Border Patrol to immediately remove aliens encountered at the border.

Since March 2020, the federal government has executed 1.72 million  expulsions of illegal aliens under Title 42.  The pace of Title 42 removals increased during the Biden Administration.  In its first full 13 months in office, the Biden Administration expelled 1,256,748 illegal aliens—or about 97,000 per month.  It’s the only effective immigration enforcement tool that the Biden Administration has left in place since taking office.

It has allowed the Border Patrol to at least do something meaningful to respond to the invasion at our southern border.

But that’s only half of the immigration enforcement equation.  The other half is interior enforcement to remove illegal aliens who are already in the country, which the Biden Administration has all but destroyed.  In January, February, and September of 2021, the Biden Administration issued three policy memoranda that effectively prevent ICE officers from detaining or removing illegal aliens—even though federal law mandates that those aliens must be detained and removed.  The consequences of the new Biden non-enforcement policy were devastating.

At the beginning of 2022, many people were wondering why the Biden Administration had not yet issued its FY 2021 ICE Annual Report, which provides total deportation numbers for the fiscal year.  We knew that the lax interior enforcement had encouraged a surge of illegal immigration at the border with over 200,000 apprehensions per month at the border during the Summer of 2021.  The calendar year 2021 saw approximately 1.9 million apprehensions, more than triple the previous year.  But just how bad were the interior enforcement numbers?

Finally, three months late, ICE issued the report on March 11, 2022.  And it became clear why the Biden Administration was so reluctant to release it.  The numbers were embarrassingly low.  In FY 2021, ICE removed only 59,011 noncitizens.  That number was down from 185,884 in FY 2020.  In other words, in FY 2021 ICE removed only 32% of the number of aliens it removed in FY 2020.

Biden’s immigration policy is like playing defense in a football game without a defensive backfield—no safeties, no defensive backs, and no linebackers either.  In such a game, all the offense has to do is get past the defensive line (the Border Patrol); and they score a touchdown every play.  Once illegal aliens get a few miles into the United States and past the outmanned Border Patrol, their probability of ever being deported is nearly zero.

And now the Biden Administration is considering removing half of the defensive line too.  If Title 42 expulsions are ended, the Border Patrol will become little more than a processing agency for incoming illegal aliens.  The losers in this game will be the American people and American sovereignty.

Biden Budget Imports Afghans to U.S. for a Decade Despite Vetting Failures

President Joe Biden is asking Congress for more American taxpayer money to bring hundreds more Afghans to the United States, even as his own Department of Defense has concluded that the administration failed to vet a number of Afghans resettled in the U.S. since last year.

As part of a nearly $6 trillion budget proposal, Biden is requesting Congress fund Afghan refugee resettlement to the U.S. for the next decade by increasing the number of Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) allocated every year.

This month, Biden announced that he was giving Temporary Protected Status (TPS), a quasi-amnesty, to nearly 75,000 Afghans living in the U.S. who do not have green cards or visas to permanently remain in the country.

To date, more than 85,000 Afghans have been resettled in the U.S. by Biden.

The budget request comes as the Biden administration failed to properly vet Afghans against counter-terrorism databases, the Department of Defense’s Inspector General revealed last month.

As of November 2021, the report states, 50 Afghans already in the U.S. have been flagged for “significant security concerns.” Most of the unvetted Afghans flagged for possible terrorism ties have since disappeared in the U.S. In one instance, only three of 31 Afghans flagged months ago for security concerns could be located.

A majority of Americans, about 5-in-9, warned back in September 2021 that they did not believe the Biden administration was capable of properly vetting Afghans, including 83 percent of Republicans and those who lean Republican.

Despite the survey, the resettlement was first authorized by 49 House and Senate Republicans, who joined Democrats in September 2021 to fund the resettlement to the sum of $6.4 billion. Then, in December 2021, 20 House and Senate Republicans helped Democrats pass an additional $7 billion in funds to ramp up the endless Afghan migration.

As Breitbart News reported, the Afghan population in the U.S. has grown drastically — shooting up to 133,000 in 2019, which is more than three times the 44,000 Afghans who lived in the U.S. before the start of the Afghanistan War in 2001.

Likewise, the majority of Afghan households in the U.S., about 65 percent, use at least one major form of welfare such as food stamps, cash assistance, or Medicaid.

Every five years, refugee resettlement costs taxpayers nearly $9 billion. Over the course of a lifetime, taxpayers pay about $133,000 per refugee, and within five years of resettlement, roughly 16 percent will need taxpayer-funded housing assistance.

Over the last 20 years, nearly a million refugees have been resettled in the nation — more than double that of residents living in Miami, Florida, and it would be the equivalent of annually adding the population of Pensacola, Florida.

RSC: Biden Budget Mentions Climate 31 More Times than Border Security, Inflation

President Joe Biden’s budget proposal mentions “climate” 31 more times than it mentions inflation or border security, according to the Republican Study Committee (RSC).

The RSC said in a messaging document that the Biden budget proposal includes $43 billion in tax hikes on the oil and natural gas industry, including:

  • $13 billion by repealing percentage depletion for oil and natural gas wells.
  • $10.7 billion by eliminating full expensing for intangible drilling costs
  • $10.2 billion by increasing geological and geophysical amortization period for independent producers
  • $1.56 billion by repealing the enhanced oil recovery credit
  • $1.922 billion by repealing the credit for oil and gas produced from marginal wells
  • $1 billion by repealing the exemption from the corporate income tax for fossil fuel publicly traded partnerships.

The conservative group also highlighted how the bill created a $2o0 million “Solar Manufacturing Accelerator” at the Department of Energy and spends $900 million on climate research.

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), the chair of the RSC, said on Tuesday, “Biden’s budget gives the EPA $1.5 billion to push gas prices even higher.”

“Gas prices are at a record high and the #BidenBudget would hit America’s energy industry with at least $43 billion in tax hikes. Unbelievable. This administration is dedicated to making life more expensive for ordinary Americans,” Banks added:

Other Republicans, such as House Budget Committee Ranking Member Jason Smith (R-MO), said:

The President’s budget surrenders America’s energy independence and attacks American energy companies so that we are more reliant on foreign nations for our energy needs. The President continues his same catch-and-release policies that have resulted in the worst border crisis in 20 years. And, in a blatant attempt to cover up the $5 trillion in spending, $3 trillion in debt, $1.5 trillion in taxes, and a myriad of destructive policies within his Build Back Better agenda, the President’s budget declares that entire agenda off-limits for accounting purposes.

“President Biden is fond of saying ‘show me your budget and I’ll tell you what you value.’ What this budget shows is that President Biden values more spending, more debt, more taxes, and more pain for the American people,” Smith added.
