JOE BIDEN'S INVASION OF AMERICA THROUGH MEXICO - WHO WILL ULTIMATELY PAY THE COST FOR ALL THESE 'CHEAP' LABOR?

In 2017 the head of the Sinaloa Cartel, El Chapo Guzman, was finally extradited to the United States after a number of prison escapes in Mexico. He was convicted in 2019 and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

The role of Mexican drug cartels in Chicago's street violence is severely under reported.

Washington, D.C. (March 11, 2021) – The Center for Immigration Studies provides analysis of the latest numbers released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on “encounters” at the Southwest border.  These numbers are on the same trajectory that they were at during the humanitarian and national-security disaster of FY 2019, only the trend lines are higher this time around.

Andrew Arthur, the Center’s Resident Fellow in Law and Policy, said, “The February numbers are sky-high, and the Biden administration is in denial about the causes, blaming -  among other things - two hurricanes from this past summer and 'coffee rust'.  Unless President Biden recognizes the deficiencies in U.S. law that encourage illegal entry (an unlikely scenario), the border will quickly devolve into disaster, one to which 2019 will pale in comparison.”

In February, there were 100,441 CBP encounters at the Southwest border, up from 78,442 the month before.  Of those encounters, most (96,974 or 96.5 percent) were aliens apprehended by Border Patrol after entering illegally.  You have to go all the way back to 2006 to find a February in which Border Patrol apprehensions were that high.

Of course, in February 2006 (and up until 2011) most migrants apprehended by Border Patrol at the Southwest border were single adult males from Mexico.  Border Patrol did not even publish statistics on unaccompanied alien children—UACs—until 2010, or on adult migrants with children—family units or FMUs—until 2013.

But, in February 19.5 percent of those apprehended were FMUs, and an astounding 9,297 (9.58 percent) were UACs, a 60% increase over January and a jump from the 3,070 apprehended in February of 2020.

View the full article: https://cis.org/Arthur/Border-Patrol-Apprehensions-Reach-14Year-High-Month-February

Border Patrol does not have the facilities to detain FMUs for any extended period of time (and thus usually releases them into the United States), and has to quickly hand non-Mexican UACs over to the Department of Health and Human Services under a 2008 law for placement with sponsors in the United States—most of whom are here illegally.

That 2008 law encourages the family members of those UACs to pay to have them smuggled here to begin with, as I have explained many, many times in the past

In that vein, on March 9, The New Yorker reported: “Biden is trying to expedite the process by having the government help pay the travel expenses involved in placing children with sponsors.”

That will simply increase the incentives for families to have their children smuggled to this country—endangering those children as Secretary Nielsen noted two years ago, and lining the pockets of the smugglers and the cartels they pay tribute to.

In 2003, Californians used the democratic mechanism to recall Democrat Gray Davis, who couldn’t even keep the lights on. Since then, Democrats have expanded their imported electorate through the “motor voter” plan. When illegal aliens get drivers licenses, the DMV automatically registers them to vote. Since 2015, at least one million “new” voters have been added to the rolls. Last year, by order of Gov. Newsom, every registered voter got a mail ballot.

Bye Bye Newsom?

Recall campaign logs nearly two million signatures.

The campaign to recall California Governor Gavin Newsom has collected 1,950,000 signatures, Katy Grimes of the California Globe reports, far more than the 1.4 million signatures needed to qualify the recall for the ballot. A full 1.6 million signatures were collected entirely by volunteers, and according to organizer Orrin Heatlie, 31.5 percent of the signers were “other than Republicans.” As the recall effort surges, Democrats turn up the volume against it.

“Right-wing Republicans in CA are trying to recall Gavin Newsom for the crime of telling people to wear masks and for listening to scientists during COVID,” tweeted Sen. Bernie Sanders. “Extremist Republicans have done enough to undermine democracy already. We must all unite to oppose the recall in California.”

Joe Biden opposes the recall, and the effort is “inappropriate,” according to California Rep. Karen Bass, once on Biden’s short list for vice president. Bass, a Fidel Castro fan, told reporters Newsom has done “the best he could.”

When Newsom shut down the state in March of 2020, he hailed the leadership of Nancy Pelosi, his one-time aunt. The legislature granted Newsom extraordinary powers and he has since ruled as an autocrat. Newsom imposed draconian regulations, spent more than $1 billion on masks from a Chinese company, then cavorted with lobbyists sans mask at the upscale French Laundry restaurant.

Californians were already suffering under the repressive Assembly Bill 5, a virtual declaration of war on independent workers. Despite a plea from California’s leading economists and political scientists, Newsom declined to suspend the measure during the pandemic. As businesses shut down, the governor and Democrat-dominated legislature gave Californians no relief from the nation’s highest income and sales taxes.

As ABC News reported in January, on Newsom’s watch “as much as $31 billion in California unemployment funds have been paid out to scammers.” As a result of that scandal, Orrin Heatlie explained, even people who voted for Newsom “feel abandoned.” Before the scandal hit, Newsom had set his sights on the White House.

“He’s really smart. He’s a big and creative thinker, and I find that very energizing, to think about what’s possible.” That was former Clinton press secretary Dee Dee Myers, upon her appointment as Gov. Newsom’s economic and business adviser. Californians have reason to wonder about the “creative thinker,” but “what’s possible” is Gov. Newsom as president of the United States. Since election as governor in 2018, Newsom has been acting like it’s a done deal.

Gavin Newsom is a crony of recurring governor Jerry Brown, who appointed Newsom’s father as a judge. Newsom is on record that Brown has the greatest political mind “in our lifetime.” Since Brown’s presidential runs in 1976, 1980 and 1992 all ended in failure, Newson would doubtless like to make up for his idol’s failures.

Once in office as governor, Newsom flew off to El Salvador, one source of the imported electorate he showers with benefits such as government-paid health care and in-state tuition.  Like Brown before him, the carefully coiffed governor has soft spot for criminals.

In March of 2019, Newsom reprieved all 737 murderers on California’s death row, the worst of the worst, serial killers, cop killers and the like. All had been convicted by a jury of their peers, and exhausted the appeal process. Newsom is not a judge or attorney, and offered no new exculpatory evidence in any case.

During the unemployment scandal, the state paid out $421,370 to death row inmates alone, including serial killers Cary Stayner and Wayne Adam Ford, child-killer Isauro Aguirre, and Scott Peterson, convicted in 2004 of murdering his pregnant wife Laci. The scandal has now exceeded $30 billion and nearly two million Californians want Gavin gone.

California Democrat Party boss Rusty Hicks branded the recall the “California coup being led by “right-wing conspiracy theorists, white nationalists, anti-vaxxers and groups who encourage violence on our democratic institutions.” As Ben Christopher of CalMatters helpfully clarified, “a recall campaign is a democratic mechanism written into the California constitution that allows voters to remove an elected official by popular vote.”

If it qualifies for the ballot, as seems likely, the recall election needs careful monitoring. On Sunday, Californians got a hint of what could be coming. Antifa thugs showed up at the recall rally at the state Capitol, an early attempt at voter suppression. California also allows ballot harvesting, the deciding factor in the election of Kamala Harris as state attorney general in 2010.

Signatures for the recall are due at county registrars by March 17. If each step of the recall takes the maximum amount of time, the recall election would take place between October 6 and 26 of 2021. As Trump likes to say, we’ll have to see what happens.

Biden’s Open Border Policies Go Off the Rails

Trump’s warning of a "spiraling tsunami" is right on the mark.

President Biden is creating an unprecedented man-made disaster at the U.S.-Mexico border – not merely a “challenge” as Biden officials like to call it. Biden has rolled out the welcome mat to illegal aliens as well as to would-be asylum-seekers with dubious claims. His reckless policies like catch and release, reversal of the Trump administration’s “Remain in Mexico” program, and his open arms extended to unaccompanied illegal alien minors are huge magnets. Biden is enticing hordes of illegal aliens to make the journey to what they view as their wide-open land of milk and honey.

Walter Melendez of Tegucigalpa, Honduras typifies the enthusiastic response to the new open border president.  “We put our trust in God and this new President Joe Biden,” Melendez said.

In February alone, according to preliminary figures, U.S. border agents detained nearly 100,000 migrants at the border. This is the highest number of detainees for the month of February since 2006. In one single day in early March, U.S. border agents caught more than 4,500 illegal aliens crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. "It’s going to be insane come spring," one Customs and Border Protection source told Fox News.

Border patrol agents have admitted that they are once again releasing apprehended illegal aliens, a policy that the Trump administration had ended. One Border Patrol agent in the hardest-hit Rio Grande Valley sector told Fox News that "we can’t catch and release them fast enough."

This situation is particularly acute in the case of illegal alien parents and their children, who will neither be detained for very long nor deported immediately under Biden’s lax policies.

The Trump administration had implemented a pandemic emergency order directing immigration agents to turn back nearly all migrants, including children, at the U.S.-Mexico border. Under Trump’s emergency order, any migrants, including children, who had illegally entered the country were subject to rapid expulsion. The Biden administration did not rescind this entire order immediately but decided to make an enormous exception for children who had illegally entered the country – whether they were unaccompanied or entered with their families. Biden is sowing the seeds of another whole generation of “Dreamers” who will be offered a quick path to citizenship if the Democrats get their way.

The Trump administration had worked out an arrangement with the Mexican government to have would-be asylum-seekers remain in Mexico pending hearings of their U.S. asylum applications. Biden ended all that. Now they are being allowed to enter and remain in the United States while their applications are being considered. In the meantime, those released from temporary custody were not tested first for the coronavirus by federal officials. Some who subsequently tested positive for the coronavirus in tests administered by local officials and volunteers were able to board buses taking them to their destinations anyway. The New York Times reported that “about 50 migrants a day have been dropped off by Customs and Border Protection at a bus station in Brownsville [Texas], headed to points north.”

The risk to other passengers and staff prompted the CEO of the Greyhound bus company to send a letter of concern recently to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. “As a result of COVID-19, we are anticipating a much more serious challenge if there are any potential migration surges in 2021,” his letter stated. “Our top priority is the safety of our employees and passengers. We need assurance that any detainees released by ICE have proof of a negative COVID-19 test, similar to the proof required for international airline passengers who arrive at US ports of entry.”

Then there is the acute problem caused by the surge of unaccompanied illegal alien minors. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki declared on March 5th that all unaccompanied minors who report to the US-Mexico border will be allowed into the country. “Obviously we’re going to have more kids across the — in the country since we have been letting unaccompanied minors stay. And the last administration immorally kicked them out,” Psaki said.

The Biden administration’s moral code is perverse. By virtue of its strict entry policy, the Trump administration undoubtedly deterred many children from making the long, dangerous journey from Central America to the U.S.-Mexico border in the first place. This policy saved the lives of some children who might have perished along the way from disease or at the hands of smugglers. Some children were spared from rape or other forms of abuse. Biden’s decision to invite unaccompanied minors to stay in this country is luring many more children to take the perilous journey to the border despite the grave risks to their lives and well-being.

On March 9th, Psaki still refused to concede that there was a crisis at the southern border in response to reporters' questions. “I don’t think we need to sit here and put new labels on what we have already conveyed is challenging,” she said.  Psaki proceeded to explain that the Biden administration is working to put policies in place aimed at “keeping these kids safe and moving them as quickly as possible from border patrol facilities to shelters where they can have access to educational resources, health resources, mental health resources, legal aid, et cetera.” Instead of spending money to return the minors safely to their home countries after testing them for the coronavirus, the Biden administration’s plan is to spend American taxpayers’ money for the illegal alien minors' shelter, education, psychological counseling, legal aid, and more.

“We are not apprehending a 9-year-old child who’s come alone, who has traversed Mexico, whose parents — whose loving parents — had sent that child alone,” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas said on March 1st.

Mayorkas’s holier-than-thou attitude is sickening. Parents who truly love their child would not take the chance that their 9-year old will be able to trek thousands of miles safely without them and survive. Parents who truly love their child would not turn their 9-year old over to dangerous smugglers. Haven’t Democrats and their open border friends lectured us about the inhumanity of separating parents from their children? Now the Biden administration is pursuing policies that magnify such separations – that is, until the administration exploits chain migration and allows the children’s parents into the country for family reunifications.

Mayorkas should also check the statistics. The vast majority of unaccompanied minors entering the country illegally are teenagers.

About 2,200 unaccompanied minors were reported to have crossed the border illegally into the United States each week in February. Psaki downplayed the severity of the growing influx. She said “No” to a reporter who asked whether there are “any discussions within the White House about reversing the policy of allowing all unaccompanied children into the United States.”

Despite all the self-righteous talk, the Biden administration is at a loss of what to do with the thousands of unaccompanied illegal alien minors from Central America it has enticed to enter the country. These minors are overwhelming shelters. COVID-19 social distancing restrictions that the rest of us are expected to follow have been loosened to accommodate the illegal alien minors while they are housed in temporary facilities. The overflow has forced the Biden administration to reopen border detention facilities, at least one of which was used by the Trump administration and came under heavy Democrat criticism at the time. The Biden administration is so desperate that it is seriously considering using military bases for additional housing.

Former President Donald Trump had it right when he blasted the "spiraling tsunami" at the border since Biden took office. "Our border is now totally out of control thanks to the disastrous leadership of Joe Biden," Trump said in a statement. “A mass incursion into the country by people who should not be here is happening on an hourly basis, getting worse by the minute."

Trump managed to contain the immigration mess he inherited. Biden has quickly doubled down on the ruinous policies of the past. And with radical progressives pushing him more and more to the left, Biden’s open door at the border will get wider and wider until there is no effective border at all.

White House Mistakenly Tells Migrants in Spanish ‘Border Is Not Closed’

White House National Security Council adviser Roberta Jacobson mistakenly told migrants that the Southern border was open, during the White House press briefing on Wednesday.

During the briefing, Jacobson switched from English to Spanish and said, “la frontera no esta cerrada” (the border IS NOT closed). After a White House aide handed her a slip of paper later in the briefing, Jacobson corrected her statement to say, “la frontera esta cerrada” (the border IS closed).

White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked about the mistake during the White House press briefing, as a reporter noted Jacobson’s comment could be picked up by Spanish-speaking migrants.

“Well, given she also said that the border is closed, we’re hopeful that that is what will be picked up. And that has clearly and consistently been our message,” Psaki said.

Jacobson acknowledged during the briefing the administration was struggling with the issue of “mixed messages” by trying to signal hope to potential migrants for a path into the country while also reminding them of the dangers of the journey.

“I will certainly agree we are trying to walk and chew gum at the same time,” she said.

On Tuesday, Psaki told reporters “we are not trying to close our borders” and said the priority was to “create an effective, moral, humane system.”

Jacobson blamed the surge of migrants under President Joe Biden on the “hope” that the new administration offered compared to that of former President Donald Trump.

“We’ve seen surges before,” she said. “Surges tend to respond to hope and there was a significant hope for a more humane policy after four years of pent-up demand.”

She also accused smugglers of spreading “disinformation” about Biden’s new border policies.

Jacobson, an adviser to the president on Central America issues, steered away from immediate ways to address the crisis at the border and spoke about the importance of working with the governments of Central America and the private sector to improve the living conditions in countries like Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

Jacobson blamed the “increased pace of natural disasters because of climate change,” citing two hurricanes from last year that hurt economic growth.

“The president has committed to seeking $4 billion over four years to address the root causes of migration,” she said. “Including corruption, violence and economic devastation exacerbated by climate change.”

Five Far-Left Promises Joe Biden Has Kept in His First 50 Days

President Joe Biden marked his 5oth day in office on March 10, thus keeping his promise of establishing a progressive body of government while repealing critical components of former President Donald Trump’s “America First” agenda.

Biden started his presidency by going around Congress to unilaterally change policies through executive orders. On the first day of his presidency, Biden signed a stack of orders rolling back many of Trump’s policy priorities.

1. Revoking the Keystone XL Pipeline

In May 2020, the Biden campaign released a statement saying he will “proudly stand in the Roosevelt Room again as President and stop it for good” when referring to the Keystone XL Pipeline.

On Biden’s first day of office, he revoked the permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline. Criticism has grown from industry stakeholders, GOP lawmakers, and unions. The job loss, some estimates project, will leave up to 70,000 Americans out of work.

“It’s only day one, and with the stroke of a pen, Biden has already taken steps to kill American energy projects like the Keystone XL Pipeline which is critical to energy-producing states like Montana,” Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) said in a statement.

Trump had issued the presidential permit, which authorized work on the pipeline. The permit created thousands of U.S. jobs, directly and indirectly.

Mark McManus, general president of the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters, said the move to end the pipeline “is a slap in the face to the thousands of union workers who are already a part of this safe and sustainable project.”

2. Ending Migration Controls

In March 2020, Biden promised to end Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” program, which helped effectively end the practice of border crossers being released into the U.S. interior while they await their asylum hearings.

“Donald Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy is dangerous, inhumane, and goes against everything we stand for as a nation of immigrants,” Biden wrote in a statement. “My administration will end it.”

As one of his first executive orders, Biden ended Remain in Mexico and is now releasing roughly 25,600 of the migrants enrolled in the program into the U.S. interior.

3. Pledge to Get Back into the World Health Organization (W.H.O.)

In July 2020, Biden pledged to join the W.H.O. on his first day in office.

As one of his first executive orders in January, Biden wrote to the United Nations to declare that the U.S. would not be leaving the W.H.O., despite concerns about China’s dominance and W.H.O.’s failure on the coronavirus.

4. Rejoining the Paris Climate Accord

In November 2020, Biden promised to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement on his first day in office.

On Biden’s first day in office, January 20th, he returned the U.S. to the Paris Agreement.

5. Halting Deportations for Most Illegal Aliens

Continuously throughout the 2020 presidential campaign, Biden promised to ensure that illegal aliens are not deported until they are convicted of felonies.

“[T]he only deportations that will take place is convictions of felonies in the United States of America,” Biden said in March 2020.

In Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency memos, Biden has prevented agents from arresting and deporting about nine-in-ten illegal aliens who would have otherwise been detained. Specifically, the enforcement guidelines stop agents from deporting an illegal alien unless they are a recently convicted aggravated felon.

The build-up begins: Biden plans a Kamala Harris road show

Doddery old Joe Biden isn't even trying to hide it anymore. His gaffes and garble are soaring to orbit. The faraway look in his eyes is growing dimmer. The public is noticing.

He called himself a transition president. He presumably joked that he'd resign if he ever disagreed with Harris. But much sooner than anyone thought, a Hollywood style starlet build-up for Vice President Kamala Harris is beginning as if to prepare the public for his replacement.

Start with this International Women's Day tweet from someone at the controls of the Twitter account of senile old Joe:

Which, to anyone who knows the history of Kamala Harris, comes off as kind of grotesque. Biden's message of her as an example to all the little girls is to be born pretty, attach yourself as mistress to a powerful older married man, sleep your way to the top, then move on to attach yourself to the next older man, one who needs your skin color next to him to gain street cred with the woke. Merit, hard work, intellectual heft, those don't matter. Just sleep your way to the top and you'll be billed a hero to all the little girls out there. Which, coming from handsy Joe, is creepy.

As for the two female generals also featured in the tweety, Army Lt. Gen. Laura Richardson and Air Force Gen. Jacqueline D. Van Ovost, whether they were promoted on merit instead of being born female, is anyone's guess. Biden has already shown that he's all about skin color and sex to maintain appearances, leading to some crazy incompetent appointments. Merit is something else, and if the two women are people of merit, Joe's administration has undercut them, placing them in the same bin as #HeelsUpHarris.

But Biden's aim seems to be to foster a presidential transition. Harris is everywhere with him, as if to appeal to black voters that he's not the insensitive old white guy given to making racially insensitive statements, which he is, but actually a placeholder for Kamala.

As here:

And he seems to be delegating the presidential responsibilities of duty to her. The White House put this vague palaver out on March 9:

Vice President Kamala Harris spoke today with Prime Minister Erna Solberg of Norway, and affirmed her commitment to deepening the strong alliance between Norway and the United States. Vice President Harris and Prime Minister Solberg agreed on the importance of standing together to support human rights and shared democratic values. They agreed to cooperate bilaterally and multilaterally to advance global health, particularly the well-being of women and girls.  Vice President Harris and Prime Minister Solberg also discussed the need for close coordination on COVID-19, climate change, and the Arctic. The Vice President thanked the Prime Minister for Norway’s close security partnership with the United States and generous contributions to development and health security efforts around the world.

It gets worse: Biden also is putting on this strange event described by Politico:

Did they say "featuring?" They're about to run a road show featuring Kamala Harris?

It sounds like Cher's famous 1971 song, "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves." Is she the 'mama' role in those famous lyrics?

I was born in the wagon of a travellin' show
My mama used to dance for the money they'd throw
Papa would do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel, sell a couple bottles of
Doctor Good

[CHORUS]
Gypsys, tramps, and thieves
We'd hear it from the people of the town
They'd call us Gypsys, tramps, and thieves
But every night all the men would come around
And lay their money down

It's all pretty shocking. Kamala Harris is a giggly radical leftist of long proven phoniness, ambition, corruption, and dishonesty. She was pinned as a phony by Democratic voters in the Iowa Caucus as recently as 2019. leading to her dropout as a presidential candidate for the 2020 election.  Now senile Joe is lining her up to be president, featuring her in a road show, and comparing her to generals?

It's a complete clown show, but it's also worrisome. Democrats had to have known that Biden was not up to the job but hid him in the basement and from the public until they could get the power they wanted, by fair means or foul, and there's ample reason to think it was foul. Joe really was a senile old puppet, possibly medicated to survive his debate appearances and now the transition is on, the foisting of an unable-to-stand-on-her own vice president on the public, the same woman who failed to win a single electoral vote.

They seem to be moving toward this now, and it's going at rapid pace. Yet no questions about this are being asked in the press, in what would have to be the most despicable power grab piled on an earlier power grab in the history of the U.S. republic.

Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us advocacy group is warning Democrat and GOP legislators to ignore jobs and wages when talking to voters about amnesty bills, and to instead tell stories about “family separation.”

Krikorian: Pro-Migration Zealots Control Joe Biden’s Border Agencies

Migrants walk on train tracks on their journey from Central America to the U.S. border., in Palenque, Chiapas state, Mexico, Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021. President Joe Biden has handed control over the nation’s immigration agencies to pro-migration zealots, and neither he nor his top aides may be able to contain the approaching worldwide wave of migrants, says Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies.

Biden’s picks “see this as a moral issue and [think] that people who present themselves at the border who come from dysfunctional countries have to be led in, regardless of what the effect on the United States,” Krikorian told Breitbart News. He added:

These folks look at the asylum issue without considering any of the other aspects like labor market and the rest of it … What they’re taking into consideration is not what the broad national interest is in this policy. Rather it’s a moral claim that we have no right to not to let them in.

Biden’s choice to run the Department of Homeland Security is Alejandro Mayorkas, who fled from communist Cuba in 1960 to the United States as a child refugee with his Cuban father and his Romanian-born mother.

In a March 6 interview with NBC News, Mayorkas showed his deep sympathy for migrants, saying:

I believe that asylum seekers, individuals who claim credible fear by reason of their membership in a particular social group, should have the opportunity to present those claims to the United States authorities, and they should be able to present those claims in an orderly, efficient, and safe way.

Mayorkas did not suggest any limits to the potential number of asylum seekers, nor any protections for Americans who lose wages and cheap housing when the government inflates the supply of labor.

Immigration is about migrants and the “values of our country,” according to Mayorkas:

To address the needs of the migrants themselves, and the American public, we’re taking a look at the immigration system writ large and seeing what reforms we can achieve to ensure that the manner in which we address the needs of individuals looking for a better life adheres to the principles and values of our country and its proud traditions.

The values cited by Mayorkas likely refer to the 1950s claim that Americans live in a “Nation of Immigrants.” In a February statement to USA Today, Mayorkas credited migrants — not Americans and their children — with America’s economic success, saying, “We are a nation of immigrants, built on their energy, aspirations, and ideas.”
Mayorkas told NBC that he would set major change in border rules in cooperation with “community stakeholders,” but did not mention Americans’ ordinary concern for jobs, wages, and affordable housing:
I’m going to take a look at the immigration system writ large and decide what reforms are needed. I’m going to do that in partnership with community stakeholders, of course the agencies that I oversee, [plus] state and local law enforcement. We’re going to be collaborative, we’re going to be a partnership, and I’m going to make the ultimate decisions in executing the President to the Vice President’s vision for a better nation, and to build back better. That’s what I’m going to do.

A flood of cheap migrant labor is actually good for Americans’ pocketbooks, according to Mayorkas. “Creating a new immigration system will help create jobs, raise wages, and grow our economy, not just for immigrant communities, but for all our families across this great, great country,” Alejandro Mayorkas told a pro-amnesty group, the American Business Immigration Council, on December 3.

In reality, Americans’ wages have stagnated since the government began inflating the labor supply in the 1970s, and especially after the bipartisan 1990 immigration expansion. Many business groups openly say that additional migrants reduce wages.

Mayorkas also blamed the rising migrant wave in 2021 on so-called push factors from other countries — not the eagerness of himself and progressives to pull migrants from their home economics and steer them into better lives in America, regardless of the damage done to the migrants’ home countries: “We understand the significance of the number of children: It speaks to the fact that there is, quite frankly, pent-up desperation from three countries that have suffered so much violence, so much poverty, and other adverse conditions.”

But more than 70 percent of the younger migrants are teenagers, many of whom are being sent north by their parents to get jobs amid Joe Biden’s welcome. Yet Mayorkas portrayed the younger migrants as young children during a March 1 event at the White House:

We are not apprehending a 9-year-old child, who has come alone, who has traversed Mexico … whose loving parents sent that child alone. We’re not expelling that 9-year-old child to Mexico when that child’s country of origin was Guatemala, Honduras, or El Salvador.

The Title 42 anti-epidemic barrier against the migration of people should be taken down as soon as possible, Mayorkas told NBC. The healthcare barrier is the most successful — and the most lawsuit-proof — of President Donald Trump’s border measures. But Mayorkas said, “it is our effort to reduce reliance on Title 42 as swiftly as possible to address the public health imperative on the one hand and to be able to process asylum claims of individuals on the other.”

Mayorkas’ views are widely shared by the Democrat Party.

“We’re nothing if we’re not a nation of immigrants,” Democrat leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told a December meeting of pro-migration business leaders. “Immigrants built this country with their hands, enriched our culture with their minds and spirit, and provided the spark that drives our economy.”

The view is reflected in the Democrats’ legislation. For example, the Democrats’ new amnesty for agriculture workers would replace much of the U.S. agriculture workforce with an extracted population of low-wage, indentured, temporary foreign workers. That switch from an American to an H-2A visa workforce would slow technology upgrades, push many Americans out of agricultural jobs and rural districts, and so shrivel the spending and taxes needed by small towns.

Similarly, Biden’s major amnesty legislation allows Fortune 500 companies to sideline American graduates and to fill all their white-collar jobs with low-wage, indentured foreign graduates.

But Mayorkas’s policies are causing distress among some Democrats who fear the public will blame them for the inflow.

“It’s imperative we get this situation under control or we are looking at another crisis on our hands,” Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX) said in a March 8 statement whereby he asked to meet with Biden’s deputies. “I look forward to meeting with President Biden and Secretaries Mayorkas … to discuss the challenges and potential solutions to the influx of people at our border.”

For years, a wide variety of pollsters have shown deep and broad opposition to legal immigrationillegal migration, and the inflow of temporary contract workers into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates. The multiracialcross-sexnon-racistclass-basedintra-Democratic, and solidarity-themed opposition to labor migration coexists with generally favorable personal feelings toward legal immigrants and toward immigration in theory — despite the media magnification of many skewed polls and articles that still push the 1950s corporate “Nation of Immigrants” claim.

The deep public opposition is built on the widespread recognition that migration moves money from employees to employers, from families to investors, from young to old, from children to their parents, from homebuyers to real estate investors, and from the central states to the coastal states.

On March 7, amid growing media focus on the border, Mayorkas traveled to the border with a group of administration officials. Several of those officials are like-minded pro-migration activists, including Esther Olavarria, the deputy assistant to the president for immigration; Katie Tobin, senior director for transborder at the National Security Council; and Marsha Espinosa, assistant secretary for public affairs at DHS.

Some of the officials, however, are long-time staffers for Joe Biden who may subordinate Mayorkas’ migration priorities to Biden’s broader political agenda.

“The Democratic Party has become radicalized on immigration in a way that it just wasn’t in 1980,” said Krikorian. Back then, President Jimmy Carter eventually blocked the Cuban government’s deportation of many Cubans to America after seven months of rising political pressure.

“Who in the President’s party is going to say, ‘Okay, we need to go back to [President Donald] Trump’s approach, and, you know, shut this down.’ There isn’t anybody,” Krikorian said.

Besides, Mayorkas and his progressives may prefer to ignore the public’s opposition, said Krikorian. “It could well be that they figure they’re going to lose the House anyway [in 2022], so go for broke for a year and a half.”

Also, he added, Biden and his immediate staff may not have the clout to block Mayorkas and his many fellow zealots:

Biden is weak in a whole variety of ways, and if you’ve got competing interests [in an administration such as] the [pro-migration] Human Rights Crusaders tussling with the green-eyeshade election guys, who’s going to put his foot down and make a decision? It’s not Biden, He’s incapable of that. If you don’t have somebody in charge, things like this can get out of control.

In the next several months, Mayorkas is more likely to widen the avenues for migrants to enter the United States by writing regulations to create new “particular social groups” that are eligible for asylum, Krikorian said.

“They’re going to be issuing new asylum rules that will essentially grant asylum to every one of these people if they come from a place where there is violence or domestic violence, or there’s gangs or whatever. They’re going to include all of that under a ‘particular social group’ so that these people will all just get asylum eventually.”

The establishment media may not save Biden from Mayorkas and his pro-migration appointees, Krikorian said. Right now, “they aren’t totally carrying Biden’s water … There is a certain amount of bogus politically slanted ‘fact check’ stuff going on. But the numbers are numbers, and they’re reporting them. So there’s a limit to how much even the semi-official legacy media can do to protect Biden here.”

The radical policy put in place by Mayorkas is likely to discredit the public’s support for the nation’s asylum rules, said Krikorian. “Because of what they’re putting into motion, there’s a really good chance we’re gonna have a Republican President and a Republican Congress in 2024. And if the Democrats have delegitimized the asylum process, we will see a real push to dramatically restrict asylum far more than it was before Biden took over.”

Zuckerberg’s FWD.us to Amnesty Advocates: Don’t Talk About Jobs and Wages

Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us advocacy group is warning Democrat and GOP legislators to ignore jobs and wages when talking to voters about amnesty bills, and to instead tell stories about “family separation.”

At a paid briefing by three Democrat polling companies, it was said:

It is better to focus on all of the aforementioned sympathetic details of those affected [by an amnesty] than to make economic arguments, including arguments about wages or demand for labor. As we have seen in the past, talking about immigrants doing jobs Americans won’t do is not a helpful frame, and other economic arguments are less effective than what is recommended above.

“What hypocrisy,” responded Rosemary Jenks, the policy director at NumbersUSA. FWD.us is “all about the economics of importing poverty — and yet they don’t want to talk about poverty?” She added:

Americans recognize the [economic] issues that the [investors] don’t want to talk about. But their view is so cynical that they think that they can just prey on our sympathy or compassion [for migrnats] and get cheap labor they want. That’s a pretty dim view of the awareness level of the American people — and the awareness level of members of Congress.

The Democrats’ support for President Joe Biden’s big amnesty bill is “dismal,” Politico reported March 4.

The polling memo is a form of advocacy where politicians’ pollsters can be hired by companies to promote issues to their regular clients. In 2014, Zuckerberg’s FWD.us group hired 10 polling firms to push their pro-amnesty message — but their pitch was delivered the morning after GOP primary voters had defeated pro-amnesty Rep. Eric Cantor (D-VA).

The investors at FWD.us are playing a leading role in the Democrats’ amnesty push, in part, by helping to fund a wide variety of pro-migration groups, including the Cato Insitute and Immigration Voice.

The FWD.us memo urges Democrats to focus voters’ attention on what they claim are deserving migrants, such as illegals who took Americans’ jobs in economic sectors that are deemed essential:

• Amplify the stories and situations of those affected. Support is massive for providing citizenship for many different groups, but some of the more sympathetic groups include healthcare workers, farm and ranch workers, and school employees and teachers. Within the essential worker groups, after health care workers, the top groups include PPEfactory workers and sanitation workers.

• Reminding voters of the criteria for citizenship also boosts support and adds to the public’s comfort with granting citizenship. Some of the more popular criteria for citizenship inclusion are being regularly employed and paying taxes, having a spouse or child who has served in the military, living in America for many years, and being in danger upon a return to their home country.

▪ While voters across partisan lines find the idea of employment and paying taxes to be important, there is additional nuance to these findings by partisanship, with Democrats tending to be more sympathetic to what might happen to immigrants (that they would be in danger as they came here seeking freedom from oppression) while Republicans tend to be more sympathetic to the idea of immigrants’ contributions in the U.S. (being employed, having family serving in [the] military, being independent and not reliant on government).

• Adapting family separation messaging to the debate over citizenship is our most resonant message. Voters strongly support Biden’s action to end family separation policy at the border, and in testing a variety of messages in support of citizenship, the item below tests best: “It is cruel and wrong to deport people who have family roots in the United States, and work, pay taxes, and contribute to our communities. We must stop separating families and allow hardworking immigrants to gain legal status and a pathway to citizenship so that we keep families together.”

FWD did not describe the questions or show the details of their poll. Instead, it said:

Global Strategy Group, Garin-Hart-Yang, and LD Insights conducted an online survey of 1,200 nationwide voters and an oversample of 350 Latino voters who participated in the 2020 election between February 20-26, 2021 … All interviews were conducted via [a] web-based panel …  Swing Voters as the remaining voters in the middle of the electorate who do not fall into either group.

The memo also tries to reframe the various amnesty and cheap labor bills as “citizenship proposals” — even though the bill would displace millions of Americans from a wide variety of jobs and further weaken Americans’ right to their own national labor market.

A press statement said the poll shows Democrats should unite for amnesty — or “citizenship legislation”:

“Passing major citizenship legislation isn’t just good policy, it’s good politics,” said Alida Garcia, Vice President of Advocacy at FWD.us. “Voters know that our immigration system is broken and stand ready to reward their elected officials for action or punish them for inaction. We’ve seen Republicans try to weaponize anti-immigration rhetoric and scare tactics year after year and fail consistently, it’s time for Democrats to realize that this is a winning issue that must be acted upon. The time for real action on citizenship is now.”

For years, a wide variety of pollsters have shown deep and broad opposition to legal immigration, to illegal labor migration, and to the inflow of temporary contract workers into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates.

For example, a Harvard-Harris poll in February 2021 asked 1,800 adults: “Do you think that people who cross the border from Mexico illegally should be turned back to Mexico or released into the U.S. with a court date?” Sixty-seven percent said they should be returned to Mexico, while 33 percent said they should be released into the United States.

The multiracialcross-sexnon-racistclass-basedintra-Democratic, and solidarity-themed opposition to labor migration coexists with generally favorable personal feelings toward legal immigrants. “For many voters, they’re well disposed toward immigrants, so when they’re asked [an amnesty] question by a pollster, they’re going to say, ‘Sure, that sounds great,’” said Jessica Vaughan, the policy director at the Center for Immigration Studies. “But when it comes to making priorities for policymakers, that’s a different story … It’s like asking: Do you like puppies? Sure! Do you want to own one? No!

The ambivalent attitude is reflected in the Harvard-Harris poll, which asked 1,800 adults to rank their political priorities. Just 6 percent of Americans said Biden should deal with immigration first, and just 9 percent gave it a second ranking.

The deep public opposition to labor migration is built on the widespread recognition that both legal and illegal migration moves money from employees to employers, from families to investors, from young to old, from children to their parents, from homebuyers to real estate investors, and from the central states to the coastal states.

FWD.us was created by wealthy West Coast investors to push the 2013 “Gang of Eight” legislation, which would have dramatically raised population growth in the United States and moved a bigger share of Americans’ white-collar and blue-collar wages to Wall Street. That bill would have been good for investors who profit from the extra supply of government-funded consumers, lower-wage workers, and high-occupancy renters.

In June 2019, Breitbart News reported the campaign by FWD.us to get driver’s licenses for illegals in New York City, and spotlight s September 2918 statement by the group:

Immigration powers the American economy, and ensuring that immigrant families living here today can thrive means greater benefits for all U.S. residents and our children in the future. The earning potential of immigrants and their contributions to the labor-force and economy grows over time and over generations …

Tony Xu, the founder of DoorDash, embodies this story … in 2013 Tony founded DoorDash, an incredibly successful meal delivery service. Today, DoorDash is valued at $4 billion, using recent investment to expand into 1,200 new cities and to hire 250 new employees, in addition to over 100,000 part-time gigs already created for delivery drivers across the country.”

DoorDash’s investors include Sequoia Capital, KPCB, SV Angel, CRV, Khosla, and Y Combinator. Their investments have paid off hugely as the company’s apparent stock value has recently climbed past $43 billion in value. Executives at the first three investment firms helped to create FWD.us, while executives of the second three investors helped fund the lobbying group.

FWD.us’s self-serving pitch about “separated families” is a diversion, said Jenks. “Every single illegal alien has a right to reunite with his or her family — by going home,” she said.

In the end, she said, FWD.us is just “demanding that American taxpayers subsidize their cheap labor.”The Democrats' amnesty for illegal ag. workers buys off corporate opposition by offering endless, cheap, indentured H-2A visa workers.

EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Mexican Cartel Boss Leads Organization Despite Attempts on His Life

A regional cartel boss continues to operate his criminal organization in a Mexican border state despite attempts on his life, which killed several of his gunmen and associates.

Known in the criminal underworld as “El Gero or Jero,” Jeronimo Hernandez de la Rosa, is a regional boss with the Gulf Cartel who controls the area in and around Cadereyta, Nuevo Leon. El Gero oversees various interests including smuggling routes and fuel theft. In recent weeks, the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas performed attacks against El Gero to take over their lucrative territories.

Jerónimo “El Jero” Hernández de la Rosa

Despite the attempts on his life, El Gero continues to run the CDG’s operations in Cadereyta with the help of corrupt city officials, law enforcement sources revealed to Breitbart Texas.

Last month, El Gero was driving an armored black GMC Sierra with Nuevo Leon license plates PS2216A when gunmen ambushed him. They fired numerous rounds at El Gero’s vehicle but he managed to escape on foot.

In the following days, two of El Gero’s gunmen died from CDN attacks. In January, Breitbart Texas reported on how El Gero and his network were using a drug rehab clinic to house Gulf Cartel gunmen. Authorities first learned of that tactic after CDN-Los Zetas gunmen carried out a shooting attack there on New Year’s Eve.

In Cadereyta, the fighting typically occurs with ambushes rather than large-scale shootouts. In March 2020, a group of CDN-Los Zetas gunmen shot and killed El Gero’s predecessor, Ulises “Ramses” Lozano, and another crime lord at a cockfight.

That attack was led by 19-year-old Ivan “Penita” Pena Hernandez, a Gulf Cartel member who switched sides while in prison and tried to take over Ramses’ turf. Months after that attack, Pena died in a shootout outside of a car lot in Cadereyta.

AR Gov. Hutchinson: Biden Admin Has Created ‘Humanitarian Crisis’ at Border — ‘Only Going to Get Worse’

1:38

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) on Tuesday called for President Joe Biden and his administration to “think long and hard” about their “open border” immigration policy.

Hutchinson, on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” described the situation at the border as a “humanitarian crisis” created by the Biden administration because of the increasing number of people coming in. He warned that it is “only going to get worse.”

“I served in the Bush administration as head of border security, so I’ve been in the border many, many times, and I understand the challenges there. But this is a humanitarian crisis that has been created by a change in policy by this administration,” Hutchinson outlined. “They need to think long and hard about what they’ve done, and they need to do something very quickly to change course because right now it’s a humanitarian crisis, but it is only going to get worse with the unaccompanied minors that are increasing the flow across the border, and that is terrible for these young children that are being sent across a dangerous path trying to get to America. And why are they coming? It is simply because the signal was sent that this is a good time, that we have an open border, that you can come, and you’ll be released into the United States of America, and that impacts us all across this country. We’re a compassionate nation, and that is reflected by the mayors and their comments along the border. Everybody cares about these children.”

Texas Governor: Biden Border Policies Enrich Mexican Cartels, Overwhelm Border Patrol

Texas Governor Greg Abbott accused the Biden Administration of enriching Mexican drug and human smuggling cartels with the changes of border security policies put in place after January 20. The governor said President Joe Biden’s policies enable the cartels to exploit women and children from Central America.

Speaking to reporters along the Texas border with Mexico and flanked by Texas Department of Public Safety assets deployed for border security, Governor Abbott told reporters, “Border Patrol officials warned the Biden Administration in advance” about the consequences of changing border security and immigration policies.

Abbott said the cartels are overwhelming Border Patrol agents by flooding the border with families and unaccompanied minors. He said this puts Border Patrol agents in babysitting roles that pull them away from securing the U.S.-Mexico Border.

“The cartels are quite literally being enriched,” Abbott stated. “The Biden Administration is helping cartels make more money.”

Cartels making money through human smuggling is not a new issue, however. In 2019, Breitbart Texas reported that Mexican cartels were charging Central American migrants up to $9,000 each to bring them through Mexico and up to the U.S. border.

“They were paying something like $1,500 as early as 24 months ago. Now they’re charging them $8,000 to $9,000. It’s gone up with the demand, and it’s usually paid upfront,” El Paso Sector Spokesman Fidel Baca explained at the time. “And really all they have to do is take them down to the border and tell them which way to walk. Most times, they (the smugglers) don’t even want to run the risk of getting apprehended by us.”

In October 2014, Breitbart Texas’ Ildefonso Oritz reported the growing revenue stream for the Mexican drug cartels and many shifted their efforts to human smuggling.

Ortiz wrote:

While Most people understand why drugs are so expensive and why cartels are involved, it is important to understand that in the minds of human smugglers, illegal immigrants are just another black market commodity

As Breitbart Texas had previously reported, the ransom amounts being collected by smuggling groups add up to large amounts of cash.

While in previous years human smuggling had been a criminal activity with minimal violence, the dynamic changed in the mid 1990’s when drug cartels began splitting Mexico into territories where they exacted absolute control over every criminal activity.

Governor Abbott expressed outrage after learning that Border Patrol agents are not provided COVID-19 vaccinations like other federal front-line workers.

“What I am about to tell you may be one of the most reprehensible things I’ve heard this whole time,” he said. “The Biden administration is not providing vaccinations for the Border Patrol.”

“We have Border Patrol [agents] whose lives are on the line of a daily basis — an hourly basis — and the Biden administration will not provide those Border Patrol [agents] with the vaccinations they need” the outraged governor stated. “The Biden administration should surge vaccines to Texas to all men and women on the Border Patrol this week.”

“Anything less than that is the epitome of inhumanity,” Abbot stated.

While border security is a federal government responsibility, Abbott said, “Texas will not shy away from filling the gap” created by the Biden administration’s reversal of successful border security policies.

He explained that ranchers in South Texas and homeowners along the border are experiencing “mayhem” as the ever-increasing numbers of migrants cross the border unchecked.

The Texas governor expressed concern about what will follow the current surge of migrants. In a message to future migrant caravans, Abbott said, “We are ready, we are waiting for you, we will enforce the law.” He stated the caravan migrants “will not be accepted into Texas.”

Last week, Abbott announced “Operation Lone Star” and ordered the deployment of the Texas National Guard and additional DPS resources.

Texas National Guard Adjutant General, Major General Tracy Norris told the reporters she is deploying more than 500 soldiers this week to support the Texas Department of Public Safety.

“We’re going to be doing observation posts along the area that DPS designates for us,” General Norris stated. “We currently have soldiers already trained for this event.”

Abbott expressed concern over the rapidly growing number of apprehension in the Rio Grande Valley Sector. He reported Border Patrol numbers indicating more than 90,000 apprehensions in all of FY 2020. During the first few months of this fiscal year, that number jumped to more than 108,000.

“We are on a scale where it is going to more than double or triple, or maybe quadruple or quintuple, made just in the Rio Grande Valley Sector alone because of the new policies of the Biden Administration,” he said.

The Biden Administration is flying migrants from packed Border Patrol facilities in the Rio Grande Valley Sector to El Paso, according to U.S. Representative Veronica Escobar (D-TX). Two flights carrying 270 migrants in total are expected to make the journey on Monday, a local charity group said.

Congresswoman Escobar noted that the migrants are being tested for COVID-19 and will be quarantined when they test positive, KVIA reported. She did not indicate if they are being tested before or after they are flown to El Paso.

The El Paso representative said she has been in close contact with the Department of Homeland Security “to ensure the safety of the El Paso community  and the refugees.”

Annunciation House’s Ruben Garcia stated they expect two flights on Monday carrying 135 migrants on each flight.

“They are overwhelmingly family units and there is a preponderance of families from the Northern Triangle of Central America: Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala,” Garcia told the local ABC affiliate.

Garcia said the migrants will be processed in El Paso and released to Annunciation House while they await travel arrangements. He said he expects they will be transported to their destinations across the U.S. after a couple of days. He added that they will only accept COVID-negative migrants at his shelter.

The City of El Paso Office of Emergency Management will house any COVID-19 infected migrants at a hotel.

Breitbart Texas reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for confirmation and additional information regarding the migrants flights. A response to the questions has not been received as of press time.

125 Migrants Apprehended by Mounted Border Patrol Agents 50 Miles into Texas

Laredo Sector Horse Patrol Unit agents apprehended 125 migrants in a 12-hour period last week. The arrests come amid a growing border crisis where large numbers of migrants are crossing in hopes of being released into the U.S. interior under Biden Administration policies.

Laredo Sector Horse Patrol Unit (HPU) agents assigned to the Hebbronville Station apprehended 60 migrants during the 12-hour period last week. During one incident an unmanned aerial system operator helped guide the HPU agents to a group of 17 migrants, according to information provided by Laredo Sector officials. In another incident, the HPU agents assisted other agents in the apprehension of eight migrants on a freight train.

Elsewhere in the sector, Laredo South Station HPU agents teamed up with agents on ATVs and apprehended multiple migrants on a ranch near the Rio Grande. The agents arrested 57 migrants. They also arrested a U.S. citizen juvenile working as a bush guide for the smuggled migrants. Agents turned the juvenile over to Laredo Police Department officers.

HPU agents also assisted agents assigned to the Laredo West and Cotulla Stations, officials stated. In these operations, eight additional migrants were apprehended.

Officials said the HPU is composed of 29 adopted Mustang horses. The sector acquired the Mustangs from the Bureau of Land Management’s Wild Horse and Burro Program. Officials with the Colorado Correctional Industries Wild Horse Inmate Program provided training for the horses.

Laredo Sector officials re-instituted the HPU program in November 2009, officials stated. The previous mounted patrol program ended in 1991.

“The outstanding work by our Horse Patrol Unit illustrates why their mounted operations continue to be an important tool in our border security operations,” Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent Matthew Hudak said in a written statement. “Even with today’s technology, a Border Patrol agent on a horse remains an effective way to patrol remote areas of our border.”

Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents found a group of 16 migrants locked inside a conex box on a rail car in South Texas. The migrants were locked with no masks, limited ventilation, and no means of escape.

Hebbronville Border Patrol Station agents conducting rail car security operations over the weekend found a group of migrants locked inside a conex box on a rail car, according to a report by KGNS in Laredo.

The agents conducted an immigration search on a train near Hebbronville, approximately 50 miles inland from the U.S.-Mexico Border. During the search, the agents found 16 migrants.

Photos provided by Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents show none of the migrants wore masks to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 while they were locked inside with limited air circulation.

“This dangerous method of illegal entry into the United States can result in serious injury or death,” Laredo Sector Border Patrol officials said in a written statement. “The Laredo Sector Border Patrol continues to warn against the dangers of people crossing illegally into the United States through dangerous and hazardous means.”

Finding migrants being smuggled on trains is not unusual for the Laredo Sector’s Hebbronville Station agents.

In September, Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent Matthew Hudak tweeted photos of a group of 13 migrants who were locked inside a grain hopper rail car. He said the group were trapped inside a confined space and could not have escaped.

Agents found six other migrants elsewhere on the train, Laredo Sector officials said.

A few weeks earlier, Hebbronville Station agents found a group of 11 migrants in another grain hopper smuggling incident. One of the women locked inside the rail car tested positive for COVID-19. Temperatures inside the rail car exceeded 106 degrees at the time of the rescue, Breitbart Texas reported.

Gov. Abbott Deploys Texas National Guard, State Troopers to Counter Biden’s ‘Open Border Policies’

Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the deployment of the state’s National Guard and State Troopers to respond to the growing border crisis.

Governor Abbott announced Operation Lone Star “to combat the smuggling of people and drugs into Texas” on Saturday. The operation will integrate the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) with the National Guard, Abbott said. He is ordering the deployment of air, ground, marine, and tactical border security assets to high threat areas.

“The crisis at our southern border continues to escalate because of Biden Administration policies that refuse to secure the border and invite illegal immigration,” the governor said in a written statement Saturday evening. “Texas supports legal immigration but will not be an accomplice to the open border policies that cause, rather than prevent, a humanitarian crisis in our state and endanger the lives of Texans. We will surge the resources and law enforcement personnel needed to confront this crisis.”

Abbott issued the deployment order following a meeting with Texas DPS Director Colonel Steve McCraw. The two discussed strategies to increase safety and security along the border.

The announcement follows a massive increase in illegal border crossings since President Joe Biden took office in January.

Earlier this week, Democrat Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX) announced that Border Patrol agents apprehended approximately 10,000 migrants in the Rio Grande Valley Sector during a seven-day period ending on Wednesday, Breitbart Texas reported.

“We are weeks, maybe even days, away from a crisis on the southern border. Inaction is simply not an option,” Congressman Cuellar said in a written statement. “Our country is currently unprepared to handle a surge in migrants in the middle of the pandemic.”

In Brownsville, Texas, city officials said that six percent of the migrants being released at the bus station to obtain transportation into the U.S. interior are testing positive for COVID-19, Breitbart Texas reported. The Brownsville official said they do not have the authority to prevent those who test positive from boarding buses to travel into the U.S. interior. A worker at the bus station told Fox News they cannot ask passengers for proof of coronavirus test results before transit. Cuellar added, “I urge the Biden Administration to listen and work with the communities on the southern border who are dealing with the surge of migrants.”
