HOW MUCH DID THE ILLEGALS BELOW COST CALIFORNIA?
Another illegal graduates, proudly waving the flag of the country he'd do anything not to be sent back to
It's spring graduations these days, and out come the illegals, proudly waving the flags of the nations they don't want to be sent back to.
That was the case again in San Diego, where one illegal alien, Javier Diego Jacinto, wildly waved the Mexican flag at his graduation from San Diego State University, touting his status as a DACA recipient, and gave interviews for the television cameras. He's not the first. Remember her?
Here's my camera screen grab from what I saw on television last night on the NBC7 San Diego report:
Here's the NBC7 write-up.
A San Diego County resident and DACA recipient who's worked several jobs to pay his way through college achieved part of his dream Tuesday when he graduated from San Diego State University.
Javier Diego Jacinto, 22 — proudly flying a Mexican flag — walked across the stage at Petco Park during SDSU's commencement ceremony as his family cheered from the stands.
This is pretty much the height of ingratitude. Who teaches a kid like that to go wave the Mexican flag instead of the American one after graduating at taxpayer expense from a U.S. university? Who knows of immigrants (who came legally) who would do that? I don't. Most are thrilled to have changed their nationality, and many want nothing to do with the places they left, and they embrace their Americanism as a gift from heaven. Not this kid. He'd rather wave the Mexican flag once he's gotten a chance to get on camera, as if to wave in Americans' face that he's gotten away with something.
Nobody's asking him about it, not in the press, despite the obvious messaging. And he's not the first. Years ago, when Indira Esparza waved her Mexican flag of triumph as a DACA recipient at her state-school graduation with a gut major in tow, there was public outrage, and even columnist Ruben Navarrette condemned her lack of "manners" and called it a lost opportunity to show good character. He was thinking about illegals' obligation to win Americans over. This kid, though, doesn't seem to think illegals need to win anyone over anymore. He's entitled, see; we owe him.
Yet the truth is, it is the other way around. Facts emerged about Esparza's cushy ride as an "undocumented" student from La Jolla's prestigious Preuss school, and all the cash and goodies she managed to get for being here illegally, including her placement at UCSD, which took the place of another U.S. student. Instead of thanking California's taxpayers for their largesse, she waved the Mexican flag in their faces, as did this kid, who now does it unremarkably.
And there's a lot being hidden from this kid's story about why he's here and where he comes from. The press would have you think it's all a sob story, so we naturally "owe" him, but that's hardly the case.
One: His parents were economic migrants who entered the U.S. illegally, not people escaping political persecution as today's asylum-seekers all claim, line-cutters ahead of the (legal) immigrants, going first as the law-abiding awaited, profiting off breaking the law.
"They left their life in another place so that I could aspire to do bigger things — things that they didn't get to do," he explained.
Two: His family was hardly dirt-poor even in the state of Morelos, Mexico, where he says he's from:
Morelos, with its big city of Cuernavaca, is Mexico's third largest in terms of population, with 1.8 million people, an 86% urbanization rate, and $11,613 per capita income. It's the home to car and car part manufacturing plants according to OECD data, which is a heckuvua lot richer than, say, Honduras, where per capita income runs around $1,000. According to Knoema, a private corporate intelligence firm, only 6,421 Morelos residents out of 1.8 million left the state for another country in 2020, a sharp spike from previous years, when far fewer did, according to their chart, and may presumably include the year this kid's parents left with him and his siblings 14 years ago.
Here's the state of Morelos, Mexico, on Wikipedia, where he says he's from:
Due to its location near Mexico City, the state has one of the lower rates of economic marginalization, ranking 20th of 33 units in economic marginalization, based on housing and education. The most urbanized areas of the state are the strongest economically, with the least urbanized being the poorest. Two of the factors in the development of the state's economy since the 1960s are the opening of the Mexico City-Acapulco highway through the state in 1952 and the creation of the Civac (Ciudad Industrial Valle de Cuernavaca) industrial complex in 1965. This concentrated the population growth into the northern part of the state.
...and...
Commerce, transportation, services, and tourism accounts for 59% of the state's GDP and employs just over 50% of the working population. The growth of the commerce sector is due to urbanization and the growth of tourism. The biggest selling point of the state touristically is its location, just south of Mexico City, which has the largest and wealthiest population in the country. Many of these people come to spend the weekend in Cuernavaca's nightclubs and away from Mexico City's traffic and pollution. Many of these visitors have bought second homes here, which has driven property prices up. Those from Mexico City and other cities are also attracted to the states water parks and spas, such as Las Palmas in Tehuixtla, El Rollo and the Parque Acuatico Oaxtepec.
The state, especially around the capital of Cuernavaca, has experienced a housing boom since the late 1990s. More than 10,000 houses were built from 2000 to 2008 and another 50,000 are planned through 2013. The state's office of urban development states that this is far above what is needed to house the state's population. Instead, it reflects demand from Mexico City for a weekend and getaway homes. The housing boom has put a strain on infrastructure and on property prices.
That doesn't sound like a third-world dump where only the scrappiest who escape make it. It sounds as though it's pretty close to first world, actually, and Mexico is one of Latin America's richest countries.
The write-up goes on to say that the Jacinto kid worked several jobs to get through college, many menial, as if that were something unusual for middle-class college students in the U.S.
The press, both on NBC and Telemundo, bills this as some kind of magnificent achievement against all odds, but even that comes off as propaganda. The kid went to a solid but hardly prestigious state school, taking the place of a citizen, and had more resources than citizens. Despite this, he majored in a very gut major — liberal studies — where they park underachievers. After that, he will enter a bilingual credential program, according to NBC, not being able to get it all done during his undergraduate career despite his native-speaking advantage. Then he's off to a state sinecure as a teachers' union member, planning to teach other non-English-speaking kids expected to arrive from his homeland.
It's not a disastrous record compared to most DACA recipients, who, stuck in failing teachers' union–led schools, and coming from cultures where education is not valued, are some of America's biggest underachievers. But it was hardly a herculean struggle and triumph. Actually, it was mediocre.
Apparently, San Diego State had been working with this kid a lot and made him a poster boy for their vast resource base devoted to benefiting illegals and securing more government funds. He described a reasonably ordinary, not dirt-scrapping, life on the San Diego State University's resource page as one of its featured brand ambassadors. Here's his statement on the San Diego State "undocumented resources" page:
Hi, my name is Javier Diego Jacinto. I am a first generation transfer student majoring in Liberal Studies with an Emphasis in Elementary Education and a Focus on Literacy. I was born In Cuernavaca, Morelos Mexico. I am a DACA/AB 540 student and I am here to share my experiences with you with the mindset of helping you succeed at any goal you set yourself to. In my leisure time, I enjoy waking up at 4 am and going on hikes. I have an awesome Pug that helps brighten my day. I enjoy drinking a nice, warm cup of coffee while watching a couple of episodes of the office for the 100th time. I plan to get my bilingual teacher’s credential and utilize my passion for producing and creating music and videos to showcase the importance of education. As a result, I am in the process of publishing Aspiring Teacher’s Club. It will help bridge the gap between undergrads who wish to become teachers and the resources they need to attend a 4-year institution. I am excited to be part of SOAR and transmit my positive and enthusiastic energy into any obstacle that dares to come our way. Together, little by little, we will start by doing what is possible, and sooner than you think, we will be doing what we thought was impossible.
All that, and all he can say for himself now is to wave the Mexican flag.
We all know that something else is going on here, the press incuriously selling illegals as heartstring-tuggers, and the universities selling this kid as a success story against all odds, despite the actual details. The shamelessness is what sticks out, the Mexican flag in our faces. He's on a mission to indoctrinate kids now, and already he's showing what he plans to do with them as he waves that flag. That's an establishment out of control, and it reveals some amazing rot and corruption within our institutions.

Mexican Flag-Waving Illegal Has Had A Cushy Ride
Education: An illegal immigrant who graduated from UC San Diego thanked taxpayers for her free ride by waving the Mexican flag at commencement. Seems that illegals get a better deal in education than citizens. Why else would she flaunt it?
The shameless ingratitude provoked public outrage. Indira Esparza, an illegal alien who took a coveted slot at the taxpayer-funded University of California, milked the system for aid and then marched up to the podium waving the flag of the country she would do anything to avoid being sent back to, couldn't have been surprised by the angry reaction.
After all, activist groups have cautioned illegals since the illegal immigrant marches of 2006 to wave the U.S., not the Mexican, flag. Esparza was clearly confident that she could get away with it despite the offense it caused to the public.
It stands in stark contrast to the criticism that the Confederate flag is drawing following a terrible massacre of black churchgoers by a white supremacist in South Carolina. The Confederate flag will come down, but the Mexican flag still waves, despite the offense.
People with Esparza's chutzpah don't float in out of nowhere. As we suspected, there was a massive support network behind this poster child for arrogant, over-rewarded illegals, putting the lie to her victimhood claims of living in the shadows.
First, she won a coveted place at UCSD's cushy La Jolla-based Preuss charter school, displacing a legal resident in an elite, taxpayer-funded school. After that, she was showered with resources for illegals.
"She received a scholarship from the Patricia and Christopher Weil Family Foundation to help support her undergraduate studies at U.C. San Diego," the UCSD public relations website reads. Still better, she got $10,000 cash from the Chancellor's Associate Scholars program launched in 2013.
"The program essentially provides a full-ride and loan-free UC San Diego financial aid package to eligible students from several underserved high schools," UCSD said.
Esparza called it "ridiculously awesome" in a 2013 interview with the San Diego Union-Tribune. "I don't have to worry so much about my finances. I always have money for books. I have money to buy my parking pass. I have gas money."
Unusual? Not really. Just this month, Facebook billionaire Mark Zuckerberg donated $5 million for college tuition for 400 illegals through the TheDream.US foundation.
Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles gives illegals free rides, too. Students like Esparza are free to take gut majors like political science and even minors like educational studies because it costs them zero.
The Union-Tribune reports that Esparza helped found UCSD's Undocumented Student Services Center, part of a $5 million plan by President Janet Napolitano to "help students in the country illegally obtain access to taxpayer-funded financial aid and other benefits," The College Fix reports.
With U.S. students paying tens of thousands for student loans and being unable to find jobs, why are illegals handed tuition, living expenses and more on a silver platter? And they show their gratitude for that largesse by waving the Mexican flag at their graduations.

He added, “Illegal immigration, in particular, drives down wages and inhibits job opportunities for legal residents, while bringing more low-skilled, low-wage workers to these states. Big Tech, Koch Network Cheer Biden’s Amnesty to Flood U.S. Labor Market
Big tech’s lobbying arm and the Koch brothers’ network of donor class organizations are cheering on President Joe Biden’s amnesty plan that would pack the United States labor market with more foreign visa workers for business to hire over American graduates and professionals.
This week, Biden’s amnesty plan was introduced in Congress by Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) as Democrats look to increase foreign competition in the U.S. workforce while more than 17 million Americans are jobless.
Among other things, the plan would:
· Put nearly all illegal aliens in the U.S. on an eight-year path to citizenship
· Provide $4 billion in foreign aid to Central America
· Expand the U.S. labor market with more foreign visa workers
· Expedite green cards for foreign relatives, otherwise known as “chain migration”
· Potentially add 52 million foreign-born residents to the U.S. population
· Eliminate per-country caps, ensuring India monopolizes employment green cards
· Increase the Diversity Visa Lottery program where visas are given out randomly
· Provide green cards to foreign students who graduate in advanced STEM fields
· Bring already deported illegal aliens back to the U.S. to provide them amnesty
For Amazon, millions of newly legalized illegal aliens, foreign visa workers, and chain migrants who would be added to the U.S. labor market as a result of the plan are a boon to multinational corporations’ profits.
“Today’s immigration reform bill marks an important step in reducing the green card backlog, creating a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers & making our immigration system more efficient,” Amazon officials wrote in a statement. “We look forward working [with] the administration and Congress to advance these proposed solutions.”
Today's immigration reform bill marks an important step in reducing the green card backlog, creating a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers & making our immigration system more efficient. We look forward working w/ the administration & Congress to advance these proposed solutions.
— Amazon Public Policy (@amazon_policy) February 18, 2021
Specifically, aside from providing Amazon with more foreign visa workers to hire, the plan includes a green card giveaway that would create a green card system where only H-1B foreign visa workers are able to obtain employment-based visas by creating a backlog of seven to eight years for all foreign nationals.
The process would reward outsourcing firms and tech corporations for the decades of outsourcing American jobs to H-1B foreign visa workers.
Executives with the Libre Initiative, a Koch-funded organization, also praised the Biden amnesty plan as “an important first step” to securing the green card giveaway for corporations that they have also long lobbied for.
“There is broad support for proposals like a permanent solution for Dreamers, workforce visa reform, removing per-country caps, efficient border security measures and much more,” Daniel Garza with the Libre Initiative wrote in a statement:
Lawmakers should seize the opportunity and demonstrate that partisan gridlock will not keep the American public waiting another 30 years for congress to enact sensible, permanent solutions. We look forward to working with lawmakers to ensure that we can get nonpartisan, sensible solutions past both chambers and enacted into law.
Todd Schulte with FWD.us, a group that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg created to lobby on behalf of tech corporations, called the amnesty plan a “critical moment for immigration policy” and a “substantial step forward.”
“Congress has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform a long-failed and too easily weaponized immigration system,” Schulte wrote in a statement. “The time is now and we will seize this moment.”
Despite the business lobby’s insistence that there is a labor shortage, millions of Americans are out of work today and hundreds of thousands of U.S. graduates enter the labor market every year looking for white-collar professional jobs with competitive pay and good benefits.
Already, the U.S. admits about 1.2 million legal immigrants every year. Another 1.4 million foreign visa workers are brought in annually to take American jobs, many in white-collar professions. The latest data reveals that nearly 6-in-10 workers in Silicon Valley, California — the tech industry’s hub — are foreign-born.

Adios, Sanctuary La Raza Welfare State of California
A fifth-generation Californian laments his state’s ongoing economic collapse.
By Steve Baldwin
American Spectator
By Steve Baldwin
American Spectator
What’s clear is that the producers are leaving the state and the takers are coming in. Many of the takers are illegal aliens, now estimated to number over 2.6 million (BLOG: THE NUMBER IS CLOSER TO 15 MILLION ILLEAGLS). The Federation for American Immigration Reform estimates that California spends $22 billion (DATED: NOW ABOUT $35 BILLION YEARLY AND THAT IS ON THE STATE LEVEL ONLY. COUNTIES PAY OUT MORE) on government services for illegal aliens, including welfare, education, Medicaid, and criminal justice system costs.
Liberals claim they more than make that up with taxes paid, but that’s simply not true. It’s not even close. FAIR estimates illegal aliens in California contribute only $1.21 billion in tax revenue, which means they cost California $20.6 billion, or at least $1,800 per household.
Nonetheless, open border advocates, such as Facebook Chairman Mark Zuckerberg, claim illegal aliens are a net benefit to California with little evidence to support such an assertion. As the Center for Immigration Studies has documented, the vast majority of illegals are poor, uneducated, and with few skills. How does accepting millions of illegal aliens and then granting them access to dozens of welfare programs benefit California’s economy? If illegal aliens were contributing to the economy in any meaningful way, California, with its 2.6 million illegal aliens, would be booming.
Furthermore, the complexion of illegal aliens has changed with far more on welfare and committing crimes than those who entered the country in the 1980s. Heather Mac Donald of the Manhattan Institute has testified before a Congressional committee that in 2004, 95% of all outstanding warrants for murder in Los Angeles were for illegal aliens; in 2000, 23% of all Los Angeles County jail inmates were illegal aliens and that in 1995, 60% of Los Angeles’s largest street gang, the 18th Street gang, were illegal aliens. Granted, those statistics are old, but if you talk to any California law enforcement officer, they will tell you it’s much worse today. The problem is that the Brown administration will not release any statewide data on illegal alien crimes. That would be insensitive. And now that California has declared itself a “sanctuary state,” there is little doubt this sends a message south of the border that will further escalate illegal immigration into the state.
"If the racist "Sensenbrenner Legislation" passes the US Senate, there is no doubt that a massive civil disobedience movement will emerge. Eventually labor union power can merge with the immigrant civil rights and "Immigrant Sanctuary" movements to enable us to either form a new political party or to do heavy duty reforming of the existing Democratic Party. The next and final steps would follow and that is to elect our own governors of all the states within Aztlan."
Indeed, California goes out of its way to attract illegal aliens. The state has even created government programs that cater exclusively to illegal aliens. For example, the State Department of Motor Vehicles has offices that only process driver licenses for illegal aliens. With over a million illegal aliens now driving in California, the state felt compelled to help them avoid the long lines the rest of us must endure at the DMV. And just recently, the state-funded University of California system announced it will spend $27 million on financial aid for illegal aliens. They’ve even taken out radio spots on stations all along the border, just to make sure other potential illegal border crossers hear about this program. I can’t afford college education for all my four sons, but my taxes will pay for illegals to get a college education.

Trump Plans New Executive Order Giving DACA Recipients a 'Road to Citizenship'
Source: Official White House Photo by Tia Dufour
During an interview with Telemundo, President Trump broke news of a forthcoming executive order he plans on signing that would create a "road to citizenship" for DACA recipients. DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, is a policy put in place under the Obama administration in 2012 that defers deportation proceedings for certain illegal immigrants. President Trump has changed his stance on the program since first announcing his run for president in 2015.
"I'm going to be signing a major immigration bill as an executive order," Trump announced on Friday.
"One of the aspects of the bill is going to be DACA. We're going to have a road to citizenship," the president said.
Anchor Jose Diaz-Balart asked the president to clarify that the amnesty would be done through an executive order and not a congressional bill. The president and Republicans took issue when President Obama passed the DACA amnesty through executive branch memorandum.
"If you look at the Supreme Court ruling, they gave the president tremendous powers when they said that you can take in, in this case 700,000 or so people ... Based on the powers that they gave, I'm going to be doing an immigration bill," Trump vowed. "One of the aspects of the bill that you'll be very happy with and a lot of people will be, including me and a lot of Republicans, by the way, will be DACA. We'll give them a road to citizenship."
Conservatives were quick to criticize the president's plans.
Before the 2016 presidential election, President Trump had repeatedly promised to terminate the DACA amnesty. But a month after winning office, Trump changed his tune, professing a willingness to work with Democrats to save the program. Trump previously sought to use the DACA amnesty as a bargaining chip to secure funding from Congress for the border wall.
Last month, the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision to block the Trump administration from ending DACA. Trump characterized the ruling as one that "gives the President of the United States far more power than EVER anticipated." And Trump vowed to "only act in the best interests of the United States of America."
The DACA decision, while a highly political one, and seemingly not based on the law, gives the President of the United States far more power than EVER anticipated. Nevertheless, I will only act in the best interests of the United States of America!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 18, 2020
In the ruling, Chief Justice John Roberts acknowledged the executive branch's power to terminate DACA but faulted the Trump administration for not following the proper procedure in its 2017 order to it.
More Than 100,000 DACA Applicants Have Been Arrested—Murder, Rape, DUI

Left tries to debunk reality of criminals in DACA but hard facts tell a scary story
The left is going into full open-borders mode now, arguing that any illegal with a DACA pass to prevent deportation is a sweet little daisy. The craziness started in response to this tweet by President Trump who noted that DACA was loaded with hardened criminals.
"We rate Trump's claim False," sniffed Politifact, always ignoring the actual facts in favor of its own politicized ones.
Now it comes to light that the leftist spin-blather was much worse than anyone imagined.
According to newly released data from the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Service, there are tens of thousands of thugs and criminals among the DACA recipient pool and worse still, there's not a thing the government can do to get rid of them.
WASHINGTON—Today, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) updated data (PDF, 756 KB) on arrests and apprehensions of illegal aliens who requested Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
The release of this report reflects the agency’s ongoing focus on transparency. The report provides updated information on known arrests and apprehensions of DACA requestors. The data may include arrests that did not result in convictions or where the charges were dropped or otherwise dismissed.
Among the findings of the release are the following:
· Nearly 110,000 DACA requestors out of nearly 889,000 (12%) had arrest records. Offenses in these arrest records include assault, battery, rape, murder and driving under the influence.
· Of approved DACA requestors with an arrest, 85% (67,861) of them were arrested or apprehended before their most recent DACA approval.
· Of approved DACA requestors with an arrest, more than 31% (24,898) of them had more than one arrest.
· Of all DACA requestors, 218 had more than 10 arrests. Of those, 54 had a DACA case status of “approved” as of October 2019.
“As DACA continues to be the subject of both public discourse and ongoing litigation, USCIS remains committed to ensuring transparency and that the American people are informed about those receiving DACA,” said USCIS Acting Director Ken Cuccinelli. “This agency is obligated to continue accepting DACA requests from illegal aliens as a direct result of the previous administration’s decision to circumvent the laws as passed by Congress. We hope this data provides a better sense of the reality of those granted the privilege of a temporary deferral of removal action and work authorization under DACA.”
Under current DACA guidelines, illegal aliens may be considered for DACA if they have not been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor, or three or more “non-significant” misdemeanors not arising out of the same act, omission or scheme of misconduct, and they do not otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety. The number of arrests illegal aliens have do not necessarily disqualify them from receiving DACA as a matter of discretion.
Some 218 of these creeps had ten or more arrests? And if they were operating in a city like San Francisco, where "quality of life" crimes such as peeing in doorways or spraying graffiti on someone's siding are not prosecuted, you can bet that those arrests would have brought convictions otherwise that were so desperately deserved. We also know that if they had committed these crimes and got put before a leftist judge, and told the leftist that any conviction would have affected their DACA status, they also got off scot-free. Leftist judges have been excusing these criminals from day one. Politifact makes a big deal about arrests that never led to convictions but we all know how these blue cities work.
And the stats are really bad actually.
Twelve percent of these people had arrest records? Of stuff like assault, rape, murder, and drunk driving? How much of the general population has arrest records like that? Statistics differ, but a Google search shows it's generally nowhere near that high and it certainly wouldn't include crimes like the ones the DACA kids bear. For the U.S. population, it's closer to the 10% range at most and that 10% would include the nation's abundant illegal immigrants who aren't DACA recipients, whom we know, already are overrepesented in U.S. jails and prisons.
And some 10,000 of them had arrest records that came after their DACA approvals? One can infer that from the before-DACA and after-DACA arrest records. Obviously, some of these creeps have taken the DACA approval itself as a license to go on a crime spree.
It's bad out there, and it lays out well why DACA, an Obama-era executive order that was signed by President Obama after assorted amnesties failed in Congress, and solely for the purpose of winning the Latino vote in 2012, really needs to be thrown out. It's a shelter for criminals who would never been allowed into the U.S. were they to apply to get in legally. There may be a case for allowing some children of illegals into the country, but DACA is exceptionally ineffective at sorting out the good kids from the disgusting criminals and for that the whole thing needs to be thrown out.
It just shows why the Supreme Court should rule to end that program now.
HOW MUCH DID THE ILLEGALS BELOW COST CALIFORNIA?
A DACA amnesty would put more citizen children of illegal aliens — known as “anchor babies” — on federal welfare, as Breitbart News reported, while American taxpayers would be left potentially with a $26 billion bill.
Now is the Time for a Full and Transparent Debate About DACA
Last weekend, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), released updated statistics which showed nearly 80,000 – or 10 percent – of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) participants had been arrested on charges ranging from DUI and immigration violations to rape and battery.
The data further showed that of nearly 110,000 DACA requestors (out of 889,000) who had an arrest, 85 percent had been arrested before their most recent DACA approval, and more than 31 percent of that same cohort had more than one arrest.
As the USCIS acknowledged in its statement, the report includes arrests, including some which “did not result in convictions or where the charges were dropped or otherwise dismissed.” Defenders of DACA tried to dismiss the findings because the report included arrests, not convictions.
The report, asserted the Cato Institute’s Alex Nowrasteh, “also does not provide the comparable arrest rates for other populations, giving the false impression that that is a high number of arrests for such a small population.” He then tried to use the data to make a “back of the envelope” case that the arrest rate for “U.S. residents” is actually higher.
Contrary to critics’ claims of ulterior motives, Acting USCIS Secretary Ken Cuccinelli said the release was an effort to demonstrate “transparency” about the program and its participants because it remains a “subject of both public discourse and ongoing litigation.”
Transparency is an imperative as the nation moves forward to tackle the fallout from President Obama’s constitutionally-questionable decision to create a program that many observers now believe the Supreme Court will allow to be dismantled. With a court ruling not expected until next spring, Democrats in Congress already are calling for the Senate to move on legislation to grant amnesty to the 700,000 DACA beneficiaries and other illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children.
Transparency is required if lawmakers are seriously considering giving 1.8 million illegal aliens amnesty – and possibly their parents too. And that means being transparent about some of the myths that surround DACA, including that they are all future brain surgeons, teachers of the year, and scientists. Some most certainly are on the path to success. But others have been removed from the program due to gang membership and, as the report shows, some for far more serious crimes.
The USCIS report is also relevant because, as many choose to ignore, DACA was never an actual program. It was, in the words of Obama Homeland Security Department Secretary Janet Napolitano “an exercise of our prosecutorial discretion” for an entire class of people who “lacked the intent” to violate the Nation’s immigration laws.
If members of Congress want to decline to prosecute our immigration laws, they owe the public equal transparency about the consequences of shielding an entire class of people from enforcement. And why other classes of individuals, such as low-level criminal offenses or DUI arrests (since advocates deem this a minor crime) should not also be subject to similar “discretion.”
Seven years after Obama acted without due consideration for the rule of law, it is time for an honest and open discussion about what giving a pass to millions of illegal immigrants would mean.
VIVA LA RAZA SUPREMACY?
