Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke Thursday at the opening of another monoclonal antibody therapy facility to treat people who have coronavirus, slamming President Joe Biden for his “lack of leadership” on multiple fronts, including “gifting” military equipment to terrorists in Afghanistan.

The Florida Politics website reported on DeSantis’s remarks. He said:

You look around the country, you look around the world right now. I mean, we have Americans that are just being hung out to dry in Afghanistan. We’ve got billions of dollars of military equipment that’s just basically being gifted to terrorist groups. Things that the taxpayers paid for. Things that our men and women used.

DeSantis also mentioned the porous U.S. border with Mexico, where thousands of people have been crossing in the country.

“You look at the border,” DeSantis said. “People just pouring in. They don’t even tell you where they’re bringing these people in. We figured out they dump people in Jacksonville and some of these other places. It’s totally out of control. We’ve never seen anything like what we’re seeing now.”

And DeSantis criticized Biden’s handling of the economy.

“You look at inflation,” DeSantis said. “The prices are going out of control, particularly gas prices, that’s putting a huge hamper on working people, having to pay so much when they’re going to get gas.”

DeSantis said Biden is more concerned about forcing children to wear masks than deal with pressing issues facing the country.

Earlier this week, DeSantis announced he was expanding access to monoclonal antibody treatment sites for Floridians diagnosed with coronavirus.

“We are working to raise awareness about monoclonal antibodies because they save lives and reduce severe illness and risk of hospitalization,” DeSantis said. “Today, I am proud to further expand access to treatment with the opening of a monoclonal antibody treatment site in Broward County. We will continue to open more sites to support Floridians’ ability to receive this treatment which has been proven to be safe and effective.”

Bank of America Slashes U.S. Growth Forecast as Shortages, Delta Sheltering, and Fear Hit Consumer Spending

WASHINGTON, DC - AUGUST 20: U.S. President Joe Biden pauses as he delivers remarks on the U.S. military’s ongoing evacuation efforts in Afghanistan from the East Room of the White House on August 20, 2021 in Washington, DC. Bank of America economists on Friday cut their forecast for third quarter growth in the U.S. to 4.5 percent, a big drop from the 7 percent previously expected.

This downward revision follows the Census Bureau’s weaker than expected report on July retail sales, a move which had been anticipated by the bank’s credit and debit card data showing weakening consumer spending.

Economists Michelle Meyer and Alexander Lin wrote in a note to the bank’s clients that consumers had likely cut back on spending because of fear of the Delta variant, supply-side constraints that had made some products unavailable or pricey, and a rise in “precautionary savings” by households wary of what the future holds.

“We think the Delta variant is a large reason for the soft patch as can be seen by the pullback in spending on leisure services,” they write. “But we also have to consider the possibility of more permanent supply-side constraints and greater precautionary savings.”

In a separate note, Bank of America global economist Ethan Harris writes that “the US has in effect hit a big supply-side speedbump, traveling at 80 mph.”

Harris sites several data points indicating a U.S. slowdown:

  • Supply shortages remain at severe levels, although a number of surveys suggest they are starting to level off.
  • Job openings continue to set new records.
  • Inventories have plunged.
  • An increasing share of nominal GDP growth is being absorbed in higher prices rather than higher real GDP.
  • Excess savings continue to pile up in household bank accounts.

In Meyer and Lin’s view, the pullback in consumer spending due to the Delta variant will likely be only temporary, pushing growth off into the fall when the resurgence has run its course. But the supply constraints could have a more lasting impact.

“If supply is permanently constrained, it means higher inflation and a shorter economic cycle,” they writes. “If supply just takes longer to come back but ultimately returns to full capacity, it flattens the path for growth but could mean a longer cycle provided the Fed facilitates the cycle.”

Nolte: Majority Say Biden Not Up to Job, Others Making Decisions for Him

A majority of voters say His Fraudulency Joe Biden lacks the physical mental capacity to be president and that others are making key White House decisions for him.

While the bottom hasn’t yet fallen out of Joe Biden’s polling numbers, his approval has taken a serious tumble over the last six days of his ongoing catastrophe in Afghanistan. And nothing on the horizon looks like it could turn things around.

Thanks to Biden’s heartless incompetence, thousands of Americans remain trapped behind enemy lines in Afghanistan, as do tens of thousands of our Afghan allies. Moreover, the situation is, if anything, rapidly deteriorating as the jihadist Taliban terrorists tighten their grip on a country they now control and seize tens of billions of dollars in operational war equipment that Biden left behind.

And now America is discovering that Biden had months and months to plan and ensure neither Americans nor our allies nor our war equipment were abandoned to the same monsters who aided and abetted the 9/11 terrorists. And he’s not only blowing it; he’s blowing it while hiding out on vacation.

Biden has two major problems now. The first is that the country now knows he’s incompetent, and not just with foreign policy. There’s also the economic, China Flu energy, and the southern border crises. The second problem is that as these crises mount, he is increasingly in hiding, confused, or generating bizarre outbursts. In other words, his deteriorating mental condition can no longer be hidden or ignored. And now the polls are starting to reflect that.

Rasmussen Reports asked 1,000 likely voters. “How confident are you that Joe Biden is physically and mentally up to the job of being President of the United States?”

A majority of 52 said they were “not very” (11 percent) or “not at all” (41 percent) confident. Only 46 percent said they were “very” (32 percent) or “somewhat” (14  percent) confident.

When asked, “Is Joe Biden really doing the job of president, or are others making decisions for him behind the scenes?” Only 39 percent said “Joe Biden is really doing the job of president,” while a majority of 51 percent said, “others are making decisions for him.”

So Joe Biden is increasingly seen as a president not up to the job and a president who is not really making the decisions he was elected to make.

What’s more, if things ever do improve, they are going to get much worse first.

In worse news, people also have no confidence in Her Vice Fraudulency Kamala Harris, who is on deck to step in if Biden does the noble thing and resigns.

Graham: Biden ‘Deserves to Be Impeached’ if Americans Are Left in Afghanistan — Has Been a Foreign Policy ‘Wrecking Ball’ for 40 Years

Friday on FNC’s “Fox & Friends,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) suggested that President Joe Biden should be “impeached” if an American citizen and Afghan allies are left behind in Afghanistan amid the Taliban’s takeover.

Graham said Biden “has been a wrecking ball regarding foreign policy, national security for 40 years.” He argued that leaving behind a single American citizen or any allies from Afghanistan who have helped the United States would be an impeachable offense.

“We are duty-bound to get every American citizen out. We’re honor-bound to get those Afghans who fought along our side out. And here’s what I would say: If we leave any Americans behind, if we leave thousands of those Afghans who fought along our side behind, bravely, Joe Biden deserves to be impeached for a higher crime and misdemeanor of dereliction of duty,” Graham emphasized. “If we leave one American behind, if we don’t get all those … Afghans who stepped up to the plate and helped us out, then Joe Biden, in my view, has committed a higher crime and misdemeanor under the Constitution and should be impeached.”

“Any military commander would be court-martialed for leaving our people behind,” he added. “And I think the Commander-in-Chief owes it to every American citizen and owes it to the Afghans who fought along our side to get them out because if we leave them behind, they are going to get slaughtered.”
