The Biden administration is tapping a left-wing attorney who has publicly endorsed sanctuary laws for illegal aliens to serve as Immigration and Customs Enforcement's top prosecutor, according to an internal memo obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

ICE announced the hiring of Kerry Doyle, a longtime partner at the Boston-based law firm Graves & Doyle, as the agency's new principal legal adviser, a role that oversees 25 field locations and 1,250 attorneys. The office serves as ICE’s representative in all removal proceedings and litigates cases against illegal aliens and terrorists.

"Throughout her legal practice in Boston, Ms. Doyle worked closely with the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition and Massachusetts Law Reform Institute providing technical assistance and public testimony and various immigration-related policy issues before the state legislature and Boston City Council," the ICE memo reads.

A spokesman for ICE did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Doyle's appointment comes as the Biden administration faces an influx of Haitian refugees, who are overrunning the border city of Del Rio, Texas. After reversing a bevy of Trump-era immigration rules, an uptick in illegal migration across the Southern border has strained resources and presented a political problem for the president, who repudiated Trump's hardline approach to policing the border but risks political blowback from an influx of illegal residents.

Doyle's LinkedIn profile spotlights her work as co-counsel in a case that pushed for — and won — a temporary restraining order against then-president Donald Trump’s 2017 travel ban. The attorney also spoke in favor of a Massachusetts bill called the "Safe Communities Act" in early 2020 arguing that ICE was "out of control." . The measure would have applied sanctuary city laws nationwide and sharply limited the state’s cooperation with the federal government on the deportation of illegal immigrants.

"The Safe Communities Act limits state cooperation … [with ICE]: don’t ask about immigration status; don’t pay for sheriffs to act as ICE agents; tell people their rights," a description of the bill by the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts reads. In June, Doyle told a local news outlet that the state must pass the bill, saying state Democrats should not trust "the Biden administration’s more supportive tone as an excuse not to do what our state needs to do."

Doyle, who did not respond to a request for comment, has also helped represent illegal aliens convicted of crimes in the past. In March, she filed a petition with ACLU Massachusetts to release two criminal aliens with medical conditions, citing the COVID-19 pandemic. Doyle’s name has since been scrubbed from her previous law firm’s website.

One of President Joe Biden’s first executive orders in office was to suspend arrests, deportations, and investigations of most criminal aliens for 100 days. Deportations under Biden have hit a record low. U.S. immigration judges ordered just 25,000 deportations by the end of August, compared to 152,000 in August 2020. The total number of cases completed by immigration courts are at a 28-year low, even as Border Patrol apprehensions hit a 21-year high.

Doyle will succeed John TrasviƱa, who assumed the role in January.

RNC Challenges Joe Biden to Prove He Has Visited Southern Border Even Once in Past Decade

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is challenging President Joe Biden to prove he has visited the Southern Border even once in the last decade, including while he was vice president.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted that her research team at the RNC did not find any example from that Biden visited the border at least a decade, demanding that he should provide proof that he has seen the “impact of his open borders agenda” if the committee is wrong:

McDaniel, following her tweet, released a longer statement saying, that the White House is incapable of saying if the President has been to the border, noting that while he was vice president and “border czar” under former President Barack Obama, he seemed to have not visited either:

Has Joe Biden ever been to the border? It’s a question that needs to be answered by the president, who is presiding over the most disastrous border crisis in decades. The RNC Research team investigated and has been unable to find a single example of Biden visiting the border in at least a decade, even when he was Obama’s border czar. Biden created a humanitarian crisis at the border and refuses to take responsibility for it. The buck stops with him, and it is long past time for Biden to make the trip, see the devastating impacts of his open border policies for himself, and address the crises his failed policies created.

McDaniel’s statement comes as the White House press secretary Jen Psaki could not say when — if ever — Biden has visited the southern border as president, vice president, senator, or as a concerned citizen.

Psaki told the Fox News reporter that she would have to check her history books to see how many times Biden has been there and when. When pressed, Psaki said, she would have to check “when the last time, or when he may have been.”

The RNC Research team posted the clip on social media:

The RNC noted that Biden, in March, roughly six months ago, said that “at some point” he will visit the Southern Border, which he has still not done:

Texas Forms Miles-Long Border Barrier from State Troopers and National Guard Vehicles

DEL RIO, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas Department of Public Safety and National Guard to use vehicles to create a miles-long barrier to stop the flow of mostly Haitian migrants from crossing the Rio Grande. The vehicle barrier, along with the recently constructed Texas border fencing, effectively blocked the illegal crossings and enabled Border Patrol officials to reduce the population of the Del Rio migrant encampment.

Governor Abbott ordered the DPS and Texas National Guard on September 19 to begin the use of a vehicle barrier to block the crossing of migrants from Ciudad Acuna, Coahuila, to Del Rio, Texas. Since that time, hundreds of law enforcement vehicles poured into the region creating a miles-long barrier along the Rio Grande, DPS officials told the governor during a briefing on Tuesday in Del Rio.

In addition to the barrier provided by law enforcement and Texas military vehicles, the governor also ordered the building of physical barriers along the river to stop the unrestricted flow of migrants. On Tuesday, Breitbart Texas observed several miles of border barrier built by the state where no physical barrier existed three months ago.

“The State of Texas is taking unprecedented steps to secure the border, and we will continue to respond in full force to keep Texans safe,” the Texas governor told reporters during a Tuesday afternoon press conference. “The Biden Administration’s failure to enforce immigration laws and halt illegal crossings on a federal dam poses life-threatening risks to Texans and the migrants themselves.”

“The only thing they have shown is an incapability of dealing with this crisis, candidly in a way where they pretend it doesn’t even exist,” Abbott added. “We’re here to tell you, it exists, it’s total chaos, and the Biden administration, they need to up their game big time.”

During a Monday press conference held by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas at the Del Rio International Bridge, the secretary told reporters they are working to clear the mostly Haitian migrants from the encampment.

However, the population of the encampment did not decline until the State of Texas began blocking the migrant crossing points from Mexico.

Texas Department of Public Safety Southern Region Director Victor Escalon told Governor Abbott the efforts by troopers and National Guardsmen stopped the flow of migrants across the Rio Grande into Del Rio. This enabled the Department of Homeland Security to remove enough migrants to decrease the population of the migrant camp under the international bridge.

Breitbart Texas observed hundreds of additional Texas DPS vehicles streaming southward on Tuesday night.
