DeSANTIS -- FEINSTEIN AND THE BIDEN BRIBES BOYS, JOE AND HUNTER WAY UP RED CHINA'S ASS - Just Follow the Money!

DIANNE FEINSTIEN  TAUGHT THEM ALL HOW TO SUCK OFF  BRIBES THROUGH FAMILY MEMBERS TO AVOID PRISON TIME.

THE OLD WHORE FEINSTEIN EVEN USED A CHINESE SPY AS HER DRIVER FOR 20 YEARS.

THERE IS  A REASON WHY FEINSTIEN WAS FIRST TO ENDORSE BIDEN. THE CHINESE PROBABLY DIRECTED HER TO.

· Trips to China

· Feinstein took three trips between 1995 and 1997 to China, in addition to trips earlier in her mayoral service, to meet with top communist officials, including Jiang. Blum often attended the meetings with her, an arrangement the Times described as “unusual.”

DeSantis: American Elites ‘the Number One Reason’ China is So Powerful Today

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is blasting America’s political and corporate elites as “the number one reason” China has become “as powerful as they are” as he moves to detangle the state’s finances from China-owned companies.

During a State Board of Administration meetingthis week, DeSantis went after the nation’s ruling class for their propping up of China via allowing the communist country to enter the World Trade Organization (WTO) and supporting decades-long free trade policy that has gutted domestic manufacturing.

From 2001 to 2018, U.S. free trade with China eliminated 3.7 million American jobs from the economy — 2.8 million of which were lost in American manufacturing. During that same period, at least 50,000 American manufacturing plants closed down.

“If you go back a generation, the idea was if we make China into the WTO … that sent a lot of American production capacity over to China,” DeSantis said:

The American elites thought ‘Well, that will make China more like us, they won’t be a rogue country, they’ll respect human rights, and maybe become more democratic.’ And the reality is, not only has that not happened, it’s made China very powerful and the elites in the U.S. are the number one reason China is as powerful as they are with all that they’ve done. [Emphasis added]

But not only has it not improved China’s political culture, they’re arguably worse than they were even 20 to 30 years ago. And if anything, not only have the West … not influenced them to be more like the West tradition, they’re influencing the West to be more like them. If you look at how some of these major companies will behave when faced with Chinese disapproval, they will censor, they will do all these things, you’ll see groveling apologies … so the whole experiment with China has been a big failure for the United States. [Emphasis added]

We saw it when covid first hit … people wanted masks and all these other things and all of it was being produced in China. They basically controlled all of this. They have a lot of control over components of our economy which affects our national security and so I think that the U.S. as a whole should be disentangling from China but certainly our investments should be disentangling. [Emphasis added]

DeSantis made the remarks as he moved to revoke all proxy voting authority previously given to outside fund managers and introduced a plan to review all investments of the Florida Retirement System to see how many assets the state has in China-owned companies.

“China is not somebody that we should want to have any relationship with,” DeSantis said.

“I also think that our country as a whole, but certainly Florida … I would like to see more production and manufacturing reshored and we would be a great place to do that,” DeSantis continued:

I know they don’t treat their workers well, they basically have parts that are just literally slave labor and so people want to save money on that. One, that’s not the right thing to do, but two it’s a very volatile political culture, you don’t really have any rights over there. I would do something in Florida where you can come, give them no taxes for however many years. I think it would be really, really good for the state, and for our country, to get that stuff out of China as best as we can. [Emphasis added]

In June, DeSantis signed legislation to ban Confucious Institutes in Florida and created new criminal statutes for the theft and trafficking of trade secrets.

THE BIDEN KLEPTOCRACY

American people deserve to know what China was up to with Joe Biden, especially when Beijing had already shelled out millions of dollars to Biden family members — including millions in set-asides for “the big guy.” What else is on that infamous Hunter Biden laptop? The conflicted Biden Justice Department cannot be trusted to engage in any meaningful oversight on this issue. We need a special counsel now.

Populism: The Answer to China’s Co-optation of Corporate America

The Chinese Communist Party no longer acts in ways its 20th-century kingpins had outlined in the party’s founding principles.  Domestically, it employs technologically repressive tools to force its population to abide by ideological dictates of obedience and collectivism.  However, its strategy abroad has dramatically shifted to one which relies on the goodwill, narcissism, and stupidity of global elites.  In its five-year plans, China has laid out in plain sight its desire to eliminate the economic and political sovereignty of nations both developed and poor.  Its ambitions are reliant on a steady stream of capital inflows from financial institutions in order to fuel its globalist and expansionist agenda.  By following the tenets of realist-leaning international relations theory, the CCP is playing a zero-sum geopolitical game to remake the world order to accommodate its rise.  The U.S. government and intelligence community have given countless briefings and warnings to elected officials, financial hegemons, and corporate officers regarding their continued complicity and passivity vis-à-vis China.  Yet, we have seen the admonitions fall not on deaf ears, but those of willful disdain for any sovereign-based approach to doing business.  Populism, in its economic, political, and technological forms, may be the only hope for reversing course on our society’s path toward the edge of the cliff.

Global elites have strategically championed the use of populism as a dirty word in the modern American lexicon to counteract its potent force for change.  Mainstream media entities and their television lackeys have pushed a narrative of nativism and isolationism to make the term less palatable to the public.  However, the populace is simply too vast and diverse to actually believe this propagandistic messaging for long.  Populism, at its core, enforces the people’s will and claims against social hierarchies that are no longer willing to listen to their constituents.  This potent force for change is required as the corporate internationalists have continued to refuse to abide by their governments’ requests to halt their sovereignty-diminishing business practices.  In the face of government threats, legislation, and even corporate takeovers, the elites have continued to find alternate ways of engaging in semi-licit activities that ignore the people’s demands for economic safety and security.  As a result, it is high time the public demand, and elect, leaders who envision a world in which the people have a say in domestic and foreign policy.

The CCP has quietly co-opted global elites for years, utilizing its influence organizations such as the United Front Work Department, to garner geopolitical wins for the CCP abroad.  Ironically, these methods are quite similar to how U.S. institutions and Wall Street shaped the global order in the post-War World II era.  If we are to counteract this strategy, utilizing globalist-centered policies will only exacerbate the problem, as fighting fire with fire portends idiocrasy.  Corporate institutions will never listen to the will of the people unless they are forced to do so, and populist-centered economic and political legislation is the only legitimate tool that the government can utilize.  Despite the Trump administration’s efforts to employ export and trade restrictions on Chinese firms engaging in outright theft of sensitive technologies, capital markets have remained wide open and U.S. dollars continue to fund CCP-backed entities that create technologies aimed at rendering U.S. military and economic dominance useless.  It is no coincidence that while Goldman Sachs alumni, among others, have conveniently dominated seats of power in the U.S. government since China had announced its “reform and opening up” strategy to the world, we have seen a slow-rolling of economic strategy toward combatting Chinese aggressiveness.  For example, the Trump administration had envisaged greater economic freedom and decoupling from Chinese institutions.  Yet, following the appointment of Goldman alum Steven Mnuchin as Treasury secretary, many of the policies that the campaign had formulated to properly secure American financial interests had been watered down.  The valiant efforts of the hawks in the administration were tamed, and Munchin’s clique was able to pacify Wall Street by leaving capital markets virtually untouched.

The next U.S. administration must focus on ensuring that it is staffed by national security and economic experts whose focus will, and always will, be ensuring that the American populace’s interest is at the forefront of every policy issue.  The corporate internationalist sentiment that is still so entrenched in policymaking today is only feeding China’s expansionist agenda.  Organizations like the Association of Republican Presidential Appointees are needed to ensure that future administrations are staffed with employees loyal to the country first, above any personal or corporate interest.  Populist officials must work downstream to win national and subnational elections to prop up the necessary human infrastructure to enable economic and national security policy that protects American innovation, security, and financial strategy.  The new administration will also have to limit China’s access to backdoor relationships with legacy officials, within both the foreign policy establishment and financial markets, in order to pursue a truly independent and forward-leaning competitive strategy.  The U.S. has a systemic issue of allowing prior officials, often with antithetical views to the current administration, to exercise undue influence on and subvert U.S. domestic and foreign policy.  In order to actually implement populist policies that benefit American workers, these practices must be halted immediately.

Global media will lambast any notion of populist sentiment in American policymaking as being combative with U.S. allies overseas.  This, again, is a false idea.  If nations acted in ways that are truly responsible to the sovereign, then global relations between the sovereign would naturally align.  Unelected despots have compromised the idea that nationalism would actually bring populations closer together by allowing governments to freely define their shared interests, without the fear of upsetting their corporate financiers.  The CCP is continuing to use the co-opted internationalist middlemen to obstruct cooperative economic and security policies among like-minded nations.  America, because of its security and currency-based dominance, must set the example that obstruction in policy will no longer be tolerated.  The result will be twofold: the ability of governments to finally rid themselves of the CCP’s exploitative initiatives and the potential for the American public to once again speak for itself.

JOE BIDEN HAS BEEN CORRUPT FOR 50 YEARS AND NOT ONE INVESTIGATION. DOESN'T THAT SHOW YOU HOW UTTERLY CORRUPT THE RULING CLASS IS?

TRULY, WAS CRACKHEAD HUNTER ABLE TO MANIPULATE ALL THESE INFLUENCE PEDDLING DEALS OR WAS JOE RIGHT THERE NEXT TO HIM WORKING ON THE DETAILS AND WATCHING THE LOOT FILL THEIR JOINT BANK ACCOUNT?

In short, Hunter Biden was not cutting

business deals in Japan or Great Britain,

where disclosure rules and corporate

governance might require greater scrutiny.

These were deals in the truly dark corners of

the world.

They all know this, which is why this sort of thing happens. For Biden, the first shakedown of the scruffy foreigners is the hardest. But by the third or fourth, Biden doesn't have to say a thing. He just jets in with his son in tow and the everyone knows what to do.

This is how hideous the House Biden operation got to be. As Hannity noted, the cash that followed the visits was quite a pattern.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and make a forecast. With Ukraine, China and Romania being brought up, it's likely these aren't the only countries we are going to be hearing Joe and Hunter Biden's name attached to. They had a heckuva Pop-and-Junior tag-team racket. MONICA SHOWALTER

Biden Whistleblower Emails: Chinese Energy Company Gave $5 Million Non-Secured, Forgivable Loan to Biden Family

I’d be inclined to disagree with Don except for one thing: Biden has proven to be a very adept criminal mastermind. For decades, he has funneled millions of dollars to his children and siblings and, especially, to his debauched, deviant son, Hunter. ANDREA WIDBURG

There it is.  That's the issue.  To begin, you have the corrupt family Biden.  They've been scamming us and our system well for almost fifty years.  The man is supposedly worth over 250 million dollars.  How is this possible on his salary?  It's not.  So where did his wealth come from?  Not from being a brilliant businessman. DAVID PRENTICE

The book is a devastating chronicle of political corruption. From Ukraine to Mexico to China, Hunter Biden's private correspondence shows how he and his family leveraged his father's position to win high-paying, low-work gigs with shady foreign actors—and how Joe's official actions at times directly benefited his family's financial backers.

The fact that Hunter's market value was derived from his father's position seemed to be a source of resentment for the younger Biden, even as he continued to cash in on the name. Joe Biden didn’t do anything wrong? A time-honored method of taking bribes is having them paid to a family member, usually in exchange for nominal or nonexistent services. It is comical to watch “reporters” pretend not to understand this.

 MONICA SHOWALTER

There’s also the little problem of Hillary’s incredible corruption (making her and Biden birds of a feather). And of course, the fact that Hillary’s unsecure server damaged national security in a way that would have seen an ordinary, politically unconnected person spend the rest of her life in prison—which, not coincidentally, is where Papa Joe belongs for using his debauched son Hunter as the bagman for decades of anti-American corruption

                                                                       ANDREA WIDBURG

The Clinton and Biden families were allowed to use their powerful government positions to solicit massive kickbacks for themselves and their families from foreign sources, and they were and are above the law.

Democrats not only didn’t care about the kickbacks, they impeached Trump for wanting an investigation into the Biden corruption.

While members of the Obama/Biden crime syndicate could violate as many laws as they liked, they were also targeting innocent people like Gen. Michael Flynn and energy expert Carter Page for destruction.

It is no wonder there is so much corruption and criminal activity among politicians and bureaucrats thrives throughout the United States when the press is coopted, asleep, or just don’t care. They frequently bury the stories and actively campaign for the corrupt criminals. It is sad that they support putting corrupt criminals in the White House. They support anyone who seeks to make the government run by leftists more powerful.

Meanwhile, they will seek to destroy anyone who wants to give the power, purse, and freedom back to the people as fast as possible. They don’t care about how many fake stories, such as  Russian collusion, they have to peddle in their efforts to defeat political opponents. Evidence and the truth are not important. Anonymous sources are treated as evidence. Only victory for leftists matters and that truly makes the media an existential threat to our survival as a great country.

Judicial Watch’s records request is designed to expose how California state legislators are wasting tax dollars to take care of another corrupt politician – Eric Holder – under the guise of resisting the rule of law on immigration and other matters,” stated Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton.  “His record at the Clinton and Obama Justice Departments demonstrates a willingness to bend the law in order to protect his political patrons.

Less than one year since he assumed office, Joe Biden has managed to turn his presidency into a deeply unpopular monarchy.  No longer is he the genial but generally harmless buffoon who entertained most of us while he was in Congress with his mispronunciations, misquotes, and embellished tales of dubious authenticity.  As a result of the 2020 presidential election that was, at best, questionable, Biden was elevated well past his ability, and he proceeded to wreck virtually everything he touched as leader of the free world.

I’d be inclined to disagree with Don except for one thing: Biden has proven to be a very adept criminal mastermind. For decades, he has funneled millions of dollars to his children and siblings and, especially, to his debauched, deviant son, Hunter.

“Protect and enrich.” This is a perfect encapsulation of the Clinton Foundation and the Obama book and television deals. Then there is the Biden family corruption, followed closely behind by similar abuses of power and office by the Warren and Sanders families, as Peter Schweizer described in his recent book “Profiles in Corruption.” These names just scratch the surface of government corruption.

                                                  BRIAN C JOONDEPH

Joe Biden: demented idiot or crazy like a fox?

The accepted wisdom amongst conservatives is that Joe Biden is a demented buffoon who is under the control of a leftist cabal in the White House, the individual members of which are unknown. However, Don Surber, who is one of the conservative blogosphere’s most astute political writers, has a different theory. He thinks that Biden is a savvy political operative as evidenced by a successful political career that has spanned almost 50 years.

When most conservatives look at Biden’s malapropisms, Grandpa Simpson-esque stories that seamlessly intermingle lies and delusions, and disastrous policies, we assume that he’s a congenitally stupid man who, thanks to the Peter Principle, has risen to the top of the heap. (For those who weren’t around during the 1970s, Laurence J. Peter's principle is a management concept holding that people in a hierarchical organization rise until they’ve essentially reached peak incompetence.)

Don Surber, though, has a different theory:

Voters and pundits misread Biden. They thought they were getting a harmless and befuddled old man who would keep the seat warm while the two parties sorted things out Après Trump.

Basement Biden has played that role well. He hints at handlers running the show and the gullible fall for it. He is no moderate. He is no fool. He knows how to stage and frame his presidency.

Being seen as a puppet gives him a great advantage because he is never held accountable. Someone else is pulling the strings. In fact, being manipulated by unseen hands makes him the victim. Poor Joe.

In the same post, Don points out that Sen. Joe Manchin, having stomped on the Build Back Better bill, claims that, for several months, it was the White House—not Biden, but the White House—that led him on, causing him to believe that a real negotiation was taking place regarding his concerns about the federal debt.

Thus, when speaking on West Virginia’s Hoppy Kercheval’s show on Monday, Machine said, “This is not the president—this is staff. They drove some things, and they put some things out that were absolutely inexcusable.” In Manchin’s telling, Biden had nothing to do with the negotiation.

Image: Joe Biden—criminal mastermind? YouTube screen grab (edited in befunky).

Don Surber thanks that Manchin is misreading the situation:

Biden is the president, and he calls the shots. He -- not his staff -- gave Kamala the cold shoulder at Bob Dole's funeral. He -- not the generals -- surrendered Afghanistan. He -- not liberals in Congress -- demanded socialism and green energy nonsense stay in the BBB bill.

Biden is no centrist, but he plays one on TV.

Don notes that Blinken exemplifies the “amateurs” with whom Biden surrounds himself. “Do you think for a moment that Blinken calls the shots as secretary of state?”

I’d be inclined to disagree with Don except for one thing: Biden has proven to be a very adept criminal mastermind. For decades, he has funneled millions of dollars to his children and siblings and, especially, to his debauched, deviant son, Hunter.

Biden got away with it because he very cleverly left himself out of the direct line of the bribes from foreign governments. Moreover, he sold himself as “good ole’ Joe from Scranton,” even as the Big Guy was taking cuts from Hunter’s “salary” (i.e., the bribes Hunter worked for). I would assume he got the same cuts from his other family members.

Despite constantly boasting about his relative poverty compared to other congress members and his poor roots, Joe Biden has done very well for himself considering that he’s worked for the government for almost 50 years. He owns two very nice homes, the second of which is a beach house he purchased for $2.7 million dollars. He also managed to earn $17.3 million in just the four years between leaving the White House in 2017 and returning in 2021—although interestingly, he claimed to be worth only $8 million. I’m thinking Swiss or Caribbean bank accounts that he set up years or decades ago, although that’s pure surmise on my part without any facts interfering.

The other reason Don Surber’s theory appeals to me is that it reminds me of a classic Saturday Night Life sketch, back in the day when the show could be funny. The sketch posits that Reagan’s public persona, which the media perceived as bumbling and stupid, was in fact cover for his being a brilliant political mastermind covering up the entire Iran-Contra affair:

If SNL were still capable of actual comedy and political honesty, can’t you just see the same sketch made in 2021, except that, when the press is gone, the bumbling, confused Biden turns into a fiendish criminal mastermind, collecting bribes from the most corrupt regimes around the world?

BUT DIDN'T BIDEN PROMISE NEO-FASCIST ZUCKERBERG HE WOULD NEVER HAVE TO HIRE ANYONE NOT FROM INDIAN, NO ANTI-TRUST EVER, AND TAX PAYERS TO PAY FOR WIFI BORDER TO OPEN BORDER SO ZUCK COULD SPREAD HIS FACEBOOK PROPAGANDA MACHINE FOR OPEN BORDERS????

MARK ZUCKERBERG AT WORK:

Unlike Fredo, Hunter would be shielded from the consequences of his destructive acts. So would the Biden family. After the computer repairman turned over the abandoned hard drive to the FBI (and then to Rudy Giuliani, who passed it to the New York Post), the legacy press and social media companies mounted an all-out suppression campaign against the Post‘s reporting, ensuring that the story was snuffed out before the election.

From April 2020 to April 2021, more than 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, according to data from the National Center for Health Statistics. An overwhelming majority of those deaths came from opioids, and fentanyl smuggling has surged at the southern border since the start of Joe Biden's presidency.     Joseph Simonson and Collin Anderson

“Joe Biden is great on immigration. I guess depends on your perspective. If you’re a human trafficker, or drug dealer, you’d give him an A-plus, but theAmerican people would give him an F. The crisis at our border was not only entirely predictable, it was predicted. I predicted that if you campaign all year long on open borders, amnesty, and health care for illegals, you’re going to get more migrants at the border. That’s what’s happened since the election.” SEN. TOM COTTON

Many Democrats understand that the welfare checks for foreign children will encourage more illegal immigration, he said:

They know what’s going on. But they know that they can’t say what their true goal is, which is actual open borders with open, uncontrolled migration both ways. And this is a step toward getting rid of borders.

“It’s a globalist mindset and it welcomes anything that moves toward open borders,” he concluded. NEIL MUNRO

What’s really baffling is Hunter’s success with women. Despite being a total loser with a terrible drug habit and some weird sexual perversions, Hunter managed to seduce his brother’s widow, her sister, a stripper, and the woman he married, all over the course of four years. It’s enough to make one think that Hunter’s charm had less to do with the man himself and more with the benefits flowing from the Biden family cartel.   ANDREA WIDBERG

As a senator, Biden vigorously voted for several similar bills. In short, based on his voting record, Joe Biden is not (and never was) a champion of disadvantaged Americans, unless you consider multi-billion-dollar credit card corporations and millionaires “disadvantaged.” Chris Talgo

Nancy Pelosi, a horrid woman equally as without heart and soul, on Tuesday refused to have the names of the thirteen soldiers killed in Kabul read out on the floor of the House.  That should permanently indict her for being the wicked witch she is.  She is more devious, more calculating than the irresponsible Biden but every bit as beyond redemption as he is.  She will do anything to try to convince the American people, for whom she has only contempt, that whatever she and her party do is righteous no matter how loathsome and totalitarian. PATRICIA McCARTHY

Biden lied about his undergraduate degree and his majors, lied about his rank in law school, lied aboutscholarships and educational aid he had  received, lied about his stance toward the Vietnam  war while in college, lied about his plagiarism of  other politician's writings and speeches, lied about  the circumstances around his first wife's fatal  accident, lied about how he met his second and  current wife, and lied about the affair they were having when they were both married.         MARK CHRISTIAN

Most recently and dramatically, Biden lied about his knowledge of his son's shady dealings,  lied about his own involvement in corruption and ribery, and lied about his current presidential agenda and what he wants to implement in regards to energy, fracking, court-packing, health care, education, and COVID among other issues.

REVIEW: ‘Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide’

 • December 19, 2021 5:00 am

SHARE

In the spring of 2019, in between bouts of crack smoking and trysts with prostitutes, living out of hotels and stinking of smoke and booze, Hunter Biden made a strangely lucid decision. He got in a car, drove to a computer service shop, and dropped off his laptop for repair. The next day, he returned to give the clerk an external hard drive so that the contents could be extracted. Then he never came back.

Why Hunter decided to take his computer to a repairman (and ultimately abandon it) two weeks before his father's presidential announcement, rather than just buy a new one, could be an interesting puzzle for Freudian theorists. But out of that fateful decision comes Miranda Devine's fascinating book Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide.

Devine's gripping account of the Biden family's sleazy

business dealings, gleaned from the contents of Hunter's

hard drive, picks up where the New York Post‘s stellar pre-

election reporting left off.

Many of the details have been reported before in bits and pieces. Devine weaves them together with new direct reporting on correspondence and documents pulled from the laptop and puts them in context with what was happening at the time with Joe Biden's vice presidency and presidential run.

The book is a devastating chronicle of

political corruption. From Ukraine to

Mexico to China, Hunter Biden's private

correspondence shows how he and his

family leveraged his father's position to win

high-paying, low-work gigs with shady

foreign actors—and how Joe's official

actions at times directly benefited his

family's financial backers.

At best, Joe Biden comes off as a hapless father who facilitates his son's clearly unethical moneymaking schemes. At worst, and as some of Hunter's texts and emails suggest, Joe was a knowing participant and beneficiary of the family business.

The fact that Hunter's market value was derived from his

father's position seemed to be a source of resentment for

the younger Biden, even as he continued to cash in on the

name. Hunter complained in texts to his daughter that he

had financially supported the Biden clan for three decades

and that "pop" takes a cut of "half [my] salary." Financia

records and correspondence reported on by Devine

indicate that money from Hunter's business accounts was

used to cover Joe's AT&T bill and home maintenance

expenses and that a portion of at least one major China

deal was earmarked for the elder Biden.

As the 2020 presidential election approached, Hunter's correspondence sounded more and more like the impotent protests of middle Corleone brother Fredo in The Godfather Part II: "I can handle things! I'm smart! Not like everybody says, like dumb. I'm smart and I want respect!"

He sent long, passive-aggressive missives to his father.

"Your vision of me being a hapless degenerate drunken crackhead is so unbelievably hurtful," Hunter lashed out at Joe in a series of texts in July 2019. "For twenty years [it] has felt like you just needed me to go to my bedroom and be quiet while the grownups talk."

"I love you all. But I don't receive any respect," Hunter complained in an email to his daughter.

The lack of consequences was interestingly predicted by Hunter's lawyer, George Mesires, in a 2018 text message found on the laptop. Mesires sought to reassure the younger Biden that news of his Chinese deals would be brushed away by most of the press.

"At the end of the day," Mesires told Hunter, "I think people will jadedly say ‘this is how the world works.'"

Eight Things to Know About the Biden Family’s Culture of Corruption

HARIS ALIC

The family of former Vice President Joe Biden has earned millions of dollars since the start of his political career, often from dealings with heavy political overtones.

Biden, the frontrunner among 2020 Democrats, often touts his middle-class bonafides on the campaign trail. Although Biden did not become a multi-millionaire until he left the White House in 2017, the same cannot be said of his family. In fact, several members of the Biden clan became immensely wealthy over the span of the former vice president’s 40-year political career.

Breitbart News is providing an in-depth breakdown of a few instances in which Joe Biden’s political career and his family’s financial interests seemed to intersect.

1. Joe Biden’s younger brother, James Biden, secured generous bank loans.

In the wake of Joe Biden’s upset election to the U.S. Senate in 1972, his younger brother James was able to secure a series of generous bank loans to start a Delaware night club.

Although James Biden had no business experience and a net worth of less than $10,000 at the time, he was able to arrange more than $160,000 in start-up capital for the venture. When the nightclub proved to be unsuccessful, generating more than $500,000 of debt by 1975, James Biden and his business partners were thrown a life-line by a Pennsylvania bank that loaned him a further $300,000.

During the same time period James Biden was receiving the extensive lines of credit, Joe Biden was sitting on the Senate Banking Committee, which had purview over the financial sector. A specific jurisdiction of the committee was the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), which provides bailouts to banks if they should become over-leveraged.

2. Joe Biden’s top campaign contributor hired his youngest son Hunter right out of law school.

Shortly after Joe Biden was reelected to the U.S. Senate in 1996, his largest campaign contributor, the credit card issuer MBNA Corp., hired his son for an undisclosed role. The job raised eyebrows from good government groups because MBNA employees had just donated $63,000 to Joe Biden’s reelection campaign in what appeared to be a coordinatedmanner to sidestep federal campaign finance regulations.

Clouding the picture even further was that, at the time, Hunter Biden was a 26-year-old recent graduate of Yale Law School with no prior banking or business experience. Both father and son defended the job offer, claiming nothing improper had or would result because of the arrangement.

“Unfortunately, no matter where I went to work, some people would make an issue of it,” the younger Biden told the Delaware News Journal in November 1996 when the job was announced.

Despite his role being unknown at the time of his hiring, when Hunter Biden left the company in 1998 to join the Clinton-era Commerce Department it was as a senior vice president.

Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Joe Biden was championing bankruptcy reform legislation endorsed by financial interests and credit card companies like MBNA.

3. An MBNA executive purchased Biden’s house for the full asking price in a deal that appeared facilitated by the company.

A senior MBNA executive purchased Biden’s 10,000 square foot colonial mansion in the Wilmington, Delaware, suburbs for the asking price of $1.2 million in February 1996. The sale garnered notice because larger and newer homes in the vicinity sold for less. The issue became a minor campaign problem for Biden’s reelection but was quickly dismissed when the senator provided local media appraisal forms showing his home was worth the value for what it was sold.

Byron York, however, investigated the matter in an exposé for the American Spectator and found that properties appraised around the same value in the vicinity had “sold for a good deal less” than at what they were valued on paper.

“In comparison, it appears [the MBNA executive] simply paid Biden’s full asking price,” York wrote. “And, according to people familiar with the situation, the house needed quite a bit of work; contractors and their trucks descended on the house for months after the purchase.”

As York also noted, it appeared that MBNA may have played a role in facilitating the purchase. Documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission show that “in 1996 MBNA reimbursed [the executive] $330,115 for expenses arising from the move.” Of that total, $210,000 “was to make up for a loss [the executive] suffered on the sale of his Maryland home.”

4. Hunter Biden remained on MBNA’s payroll while Joe Biden was writing bankruptcy reform legislation.

Throughout the early 2000s, Hunter Biden remained on MBNA’s payroll as a consultant while his father was writing and pushing the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. The arrangement, which did not become public until after the law was passed, started in 2001 after Hunter Biden had left his position in the Commerce Dept. MBNA was paid monthly consulting fees, with some claiming they ranged upwards of $100,000, to advise the company on online banking issues.

The 2005 bankruptcy tightened regulations to make it extremely more difficult to declare bankruptcy. It was heavily favored by MBNA and other giants in the banking and finance sectors. Many consumer protection advocates, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), have claimed the bill benefited special interests at the expense of consumers. Some have even suggested the law only served to hasten and aggravate the recession of the late 2000s.

As previously reported by the New York Times, Biden worked against many of his own fellow Democrats in Congress to ensure the final version of the bill was free of provisions opposed by companies like MBNA.

Biden “was one of five Democrats in March 2005 who voted against a proposal to require credit card companies to provide more effective warnings to consumers about the consequences of paying only the minimum amount due each month,” the Times noted.

5. Joe Biden paid his family members with campaign cash.

During his failed 2008 presidential campaign, Joe Biden paid more than $2 million to his family members and their business. According to the Washington Times, the money went to a company that was a long-time employer of Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens. Biden also directed funds to a law firm started by his old campaign treasurer, which at the time also employed his youngest son Hunter.

6. James and Hunter Biden sought to monetize off Joe Biden’s political standing.

In 2006, close to when Joe Biden assumed the chairmanship of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and launched his second presidential campaign, James and Hunter Biden purchased a hedge fund called Paradigm Global Advisors. Although neither man had a strong background in finance, James and Hunter Biden reportedly believed they could leverage Joe Biden’s political connections to their benefits.

“Don’t worry about investors,” James Biden purportedly told Paradigm’s senior leadership upon taking over the fund, as reported by Politico. “We’ve got people all around the world who want to invest in Joe Biden.”

Paradigm’s executives claim that James and Hunter Biden saw the hedge fund as a way to “take money from rich foreigners who could not legally give money” to Joe Biden’s campaign account.

“We’ve got investors lined up in a line of 747s filled with cash ready to invest in this company,” James Biden allegedly told Paradigm’s staff.

Hunter and James also tried to solicit labor unions to invest their pension funds in Paradigm by relying on Joe Biden’s long record of advocating in favor of collective bargaining.

The efforts proved to unsuccessful, though, with James and Hunter Biden choosing to strip and sell the company off by 2010 after a number of bad decisions, including partnering with a Ponzi scheme.

7. James Biden’s received a $1.5 billion contract to build houses in Iraq while Joe Biden was overseeing the region.

After his foray into the world of high finance ended disastrously, James Biden joinedHillstone International LLC as a vice president in 2010. The company, a subsidiary of Hill International, at the time, was pursuing technology and construction projects around the globe.

Although the company had been losing money for some time, James Biden’s arrival resulted in something of a reversal in fortune. Within six months of James Biden joining the firm, Hillstone was the recipient of $1.5 billion dollar contract to build 100,000 houses in war-torn Iraq. The deal, which was never finalized because outside funding failed to materialize, quickly caught attention as Joe Biden was overseeing the Obama administration’s policy in the region.

Both the Obama White House and Hillstone denied Joe Biden had anything to do with the deal, pointing to the fact the contract was awarded through a South Korean group working to build homes in Iraq. Despite the denials, Irvin Richter, the founder of Hill International, did admit James Biden may have had something to do with the deal.

“Listen, his name helps him get in the door, but it doesn’t help him get business,” Richter told Fox Business in 2012 when discussing James Biden. “People who have important names tend to get in the door easier but it doesn’t mean success. If he had the name Obama he would get in the door easier.”

Complicating matters was the fact James Biden was likely to get rich if the deal went through. Fox Business reported that a group of minority partners, which included James Biden, owned 49 percent of Hillstone. The other 51 percent was owned by the company’s parent group, Hill International. Given Hillstone’s profit breakdown structure, James Biden and the other minority partners would have been eligible to split more than $735 million after the deal was completed

8. Hunter Biden’s firm scored a $1.5 billion deal with the Bank of China only days after Joe Biden and his youngest son visited the country.

Peter Schweizer, a senior contributor at Breitbart News, revealed in his bestselling book Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends that Hunter Biden’s firm signed a multi-billion dollar with a subsidiary of the state-owned Bank of China only ten days after he visited the country with his father aboard Air Force Two.

In a SiriusXM Breitbart News Tonight radio interview from last year, Schweizer explained how the Biden-China deal unfolded:

“In December of 2013, Vice President Joe Biden flies to Asia for a trip, and the centerpiece for that trip is a visit to Beijing, China,” said Schweizer. “To put this into context, in 2013, the Chinese have just exerted air rights over the South Pacific, the South China Sea. They basically have said, ‘If you want to fly in this area, you have to get Chinese approval. We are claiming sovereignty over this territory.’ Highly controversial in Japan, in the Philippines, and in other countries. Joe Biden is supposed to be going there to confront the Chinese. Well, he gets widely criticized on that trip for going soft on China. So basically, no challenging them, and Japan and other countries are quite upset about this.”

This Is How the Left's Power Structure Collapses

By David Prentice

Weeks ago, Rush Limbaugh mentioned that the issues defining the election had not come forward yet.  He was correct.  Not entirely, because all the issues coming out right now have existed.  In plain sight.

They just weren't distilled yet.

It's now here, served up on a silver platter.  No, not Hunter Biden.  This Hunter Biden laptop story simply leads us to the issue.  The word.  One word that rules them all, and in the darkness binds them.

Corruption.

Enter Hunter's laptop.  We now know that this is a family steeped in crime and corruption.  Ole Corn Pop appears to be awash in money kicked back to him by his family members who have grifted off his reputation for years.  Hunter's laptop has betrayed all this and more.  Much like Al Capone's bookkeeper.  Who would have thought Capone would have been destroyed so completely by a set of crooked books?  Such delicious irony.  And who would have known that this would become the October surprise of all October surprises?

Corruption.  Full grown.  Oozing its way into America.  It's everywhere on the left.  The Biden family.  Clintons.  The Democratic Party.  The FBI.  The CIA.  The mainstream media.  The tech giants.  It's a full-out plague, aided and abetted by their demonic philosophy, all of them gone astray.

All of them corrupt.

The New York Post story has been there for about a week now.  The Democrat-media complex has ignored it entirely; the tech giants went into overdrive removing all evidence from their platforms.  Google.  Facebook.  Twitter.  Instagram.  The whole lot of them.  Covering up a story that deserved universal distribution and condemnation.  Instead, they covered up the most damning story to their side, their chosen side.  All of them colluded to bury this mounting evidence of wrongdoing.

How far the mighty have fallen.  And are falling.

What's the word for a media establishment that won't report this story?

What's the word for the FBI having this laptop for almost a year, watching dispassionately as the Democrats impeached Trump with hard evidence in their hands of his innocence and the Bidens' guilt?

What's the word for the above group of bad actors colluding to forward the Russia lies for almost three years?

What's the word for Director Wray's involvement?

What's the word for CIA director not releasing documents of the Russia hoax, documents that have been available for a long time?

What's the all-encompassing word that has been revealed at the heart of all these colluding to hide the truth from an America that deserves to know?

Corruption.

This is an issue that won't go away.  All the attempts to deep-six the truth here are failing, and miserably at that.  It's causing a slow-walk of information to drip out to the American public.  First the stories of Ukraine.  Drip-drip-drip.  Then the stories of drugs.  Then the sex problems.  Then the Chinese stories.  The story of kickbacks to Pop.

It's as if all the smartest people in the world colluded to destroy themselves.  By purposefully and unanimously excluding all information concerning this story from the American public.  The smartest people in the world actually believe they can be successful in spiking one of the biggest stories to pop up in any American election cycle.  Their hubris is so advanced, so viral, so awful, that they can't see what they've done to themselves.  They really believe they are going to keep a cork on this.

The derogatory phrase for the establishment has been "the swamp."  How bad is this, how deep is this, how criminal is this, how horrifying is it to find out the vast amount of corruption and collusion in so many of our institutions and corporations?

It's staggering.  It's infuriating.

These are the most powerful among us.  All rich.  All corrupt.  All once respected by Americans of all stripes.  And here, in one fell swoop, they reveal themselves to the average American.  As arrogant bullies, as deceitful liars, as evil as anything we've seen in our generation.  They have revealed themselves as the cabal of darkness.  Terrible motives, terrible actions, virtually unforgiveable in what they have done, and yet failed to finish.  And due to the hubris of the cabal, the exposé will be slow-walked until the election.

Today, Trump had an exchange with reporters, where he said, "Biden was a criminal."

This shocked the corrupt media.  Reverberations rocked the corrupto-sphere.  The lion had roared.  There is no way the corrupto-sphere keeps this lid on.  There is also no way all these corrupt actors go back on their solemn pledge to one another.  They are bound together.  They're stuck with each other.  And it will overwhelm them.

As this careens into the debate, as this careens into voting, as this careens into Election Day, the ultimate narrative will be set.  The doomsday clock will start.  All the corrupt actors will be pointed out.  All of them will rue the day they couldn't get rid of Donald Trump.  He, above most anyone, knows just how corrupt these people are.  He above anyone knows how to handle them.  He, above all, knows what's all coming out in the next weeks.

It's going to be an avalanche of material.  It's going to be a number of fires even Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, the DNC, the Bidens, the media, the corrupt government officials, the whole shooting match, will not be able to handle.  If they all overtly held emergency meetings with each other, they'd never stop the flood.  When Trump roared, you know he had one of his famous moments, that moment when he knows how and when to bring this to a head.  Trump the narrative-builder, Trump the destroyer will be unleashing hell on these people.

Anyone who has seen him operate knows.  This is his time.  This is how the beginning of the end of the swamp, or should I say the sewer, begins.  This is the kind of chaos these smartest people in the world, ever, haven't seen before.  Algorithms will not help them.  Censorship will not help them.  It will be a rushing mighty wind, coming to destroy all those who didn't understand that their corruption could be turned on them.

This is going to be epic.  Corruption will be their end; it's just a matter of time.  And Trump will have four years to finish their corruption.

So Hunter Biden followed his dad around to Romania, too?

By Monica Showalter

Hunter Biden was quite the devoted little sproutling, following his dad around wherever he went.

According to this NBC News report:

In the final year of the Obama administration, an American lawyer traveled to Romania to meet with a businessman accused of orchestrating a corrupt land deal.

The businessman was Gabriel “Puiu” Popoviciu, a wealthy Romanian real estate tycoon. The lawyer brought in to advise him was Hunter Biden, the son of then-Vice President Joe Biden, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Hunter Biden’s work for Popoviciu in 2016 went unreported at the time, but Joe Biden’s involvement in Romania was very much public. The vice president was among the leading voices pushing the government to crack down on corruption.

At Fox News, Sean Hannity called it a "pattern." Hunter Biden following his dad around -- to China, Ukraine, and now Romania -- and somehow always came away with big-dollar business deals. Kind of the way then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton used Bill Clinton as her bagman to scarf up donations to the Clinton Foundation after Hillary made some foreign policy decision. That's certainly the way it happened with the 2011 passage of the U.S.-Colombia free trade pact, according to Peter Schweizer in his book, "Clinton Cash."

Hillary had her Bill. Joe had his Hunter. It's worth it to take this pattern where it goes, which is an emerging picture of modern bribery.

Imagine what it must have been like in the not-so-long-ago years when Joe Biden was vice president of the U.S. -- big, powerful, full of demands to advance the Obama political agenda.

You're a scruffy post-Soviet regime or third-world country.  You need some kind of help from nearby predators, you want to avoid sanctions, or your country's just generally a hellhole.

In comes Biden, who just happens to be the guy assigned as 'point man' to handle your case, with his cocaine-using son in tow.

In order to get what you want from Joe, you need to set up some kind of meeting with sonny boy - who's traveling with Joe, supposedly there to do "business deals." Sonny boy doesn't know anything about business, or the industries he could be dropped into, or for that matter, following the rules on cocaine use in the Navy. He's unemployable. But he's there with dad, waiting for his post-dad meetings, too.

And he walks off with big-dollar business deals, often from no-show jobs, nice big money streams, the flying dollar-bill wake of Joe Biden's tour. After about the first or second one, you'd start to notice a pattern.. Joe blows in, a payoff will be required.

The strange passage of Colombia's free trade pact in 2011, based on a sudden change in Democrat sentiment of being utterly against it to being at least grudingly for it, was also reportedly enacted through a payoff. The Clinton Foundation got a big $800,000 payment with Hillary Clinton as sitting Secretary of State and voila, Clinton was in favor of passage. In a way, the House Biden setup paralled the Clintons-Clinton Foundation setup. It's now worth it to check now if that, or any trade pact passed during the Obama years -- and there were several -- also could have involved Joe.

Because obviously, word would have gotten around. You're a scruffy third world country, your job is to watch the gringos closely, see how you can get them to help you, see what it takes. You'd watch one, two, many international transactions with comparable countries. You'd watch closely to see what it takes.

I know this, because I've spent a lot of time in such countries, speaking with their officials. "What do we have to do?" is the most commonly asked question I've heard the world over.

As John Hinderaker at Power Line notes - the answer was bribery, an updated modern-day version of bribery that can't be pinned as bribery by the long arm of the law the way walking into a smoke-filled room with a black bag full of cash can. He writes:

Joe Biden didn’t do anything wrong? A time-honored method of taking bribes is having them paid to a family member, usually in exchange for nominal or nonexistent services. It is comical to watch “reporters” pretend not to understand this.

Mo Brooks: Hunter Biden Trading off His Father’s Name, Marketing Access to the Biden Family Must Be Investigated by Congress

Earlier this week, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), a candidate for Alabama’s U.S. Senate seat up for grabs in 2022, called for a full select committee investigation into Hunter Biden’s art dealings.

However, during an appearance on Mobile, AL radio’s FM Talk 106.5, Brooks admitted it was unlikely such a congressional investigation could occur as long as the Democrats were in charge of both chambers of Congress.

Brooks pledged to call for an investigation into Hunter Biden should he be elected to the U.S. Senate next year.

“[H]unter Biden is selling that so-called art for tens of thousands of dollars,” Brooks said. “And keep in mind, he’s already been plagued with past ethical lapses where he traded off his father’s name when he was vice president of the United States, perhaps even when he was Senator in the United States Senate. And those kinds of ethical lapses where he puts his own personal pocketbook ahead of the United States of America — those things need to be examined. Now, unfortunately, we can’t do it right now because the House is controlled by Nancy Pelosi. She is not going to allow a committee to have an investigative hearing on that. Neither are they going to allow that in the Senate where Chuck Schumer is in control.”

“But I can promise you this: If we take control of the United States Senate, and I’m cautiously optimistic we’re going to, and I can get on the committee or perhaps chairman of the subcommittee that would handle this type of investigation, I’m going to call for an investigation of Hunter Biden, and there needs to be some light shed on the nepotism on the one hand, or the unethical conduct or the unjust enrichment on the other hand, where he seems to be marketing access to the Biden family via the sale of art that is not worth very much that he is getting paid tens of thousands of dollars for it,” he added.

Biden Whistleblower Emails: Chinese Energy Company Gave $5 Million Non-Secured, Forgivable Loan to Biden ‘Family’

                                     TOM FITTON - JUDICIAL WATCH

In his nearly 700-word statement, Bobulinski confirmed the authenticity of that email and further explained its meeting including that “the big guy” was a reference to former Vice President Joe Biden, the 2020 Democrat presidential nominee, himself.

Hunter Biden’s Firms Scored Reportedly Hundreds of Millions from Russians, Chinese, and Kazakhs

KRISTINA WONG

Hunter Biden, son of 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden, has come under scrutiny for his business links to Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma while his father was vice president.

Now, a new book by author Peter Schweizer reveals Hunter Biden forged other business deals with individuals and entities tied with the governments of Russia, China, and Kazakhstan, that reportedly scored him hundreds of millions of dollars.

The book, titled Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite., lays out how Hunter Biden and his business partners, in addition to his numerous Rosemont-branded entities and ventures, was deeply involved with an entity called the Burnham Financial Group.

Hunter and his business partner, Devon Archer, used Burnham to make foreign deals with governments and oligarchs, according to a copy of the book viewed by Breitbart News.

One of those oligarchs included Nurlan Abduov, the associate of another Kazakh oligarch, Kenges Rakishev. Rakishev is the son-in-law of the former vice prime minister of Kazakhstan, Imangali Tasmagambetov. Tasmagamvetov was also formerly the defense minister, and is now the Kazakh ambassador to Russia.

According to the book, an account Hunter regularly received funds from showed money arriving from a firm run by Rakishev in 2014:

A Morgan Stanley investment account from which Hunter regularly received funds shows money arriving from mysterious
sources around the world. There is a $142,300 deposit in April 2014 from Kazakh oligarch–controlled Novatus Holdings. Kenges
Rakishev, whose father-in-law is the former vice prime minister of Kazakhstan and a close ally of Kazakh dictator Nursultan
Nazarbayev, runs the offshore firm.

While Burnham received funds from Kazakh oligarchs, Archer acted as a backchannel between Kazakhstan to then-Secretary of State John Kerry, according to the book. (Kerry’s stepson Chris Heinz was a business partner with Biden and Archer in some of their ventures).

In a July 11, 2013, email, Kerry’s chief of staff David Wade wrote to Archer:

Devon: understand you spoke to the Secretary re having him call [Kazakh] Foreign Minister Idrisov today, can you let me know topics Idrisov wants to talk about/any requests he’ll have of the boss, so we can get paper prepared for a call. Hopefully, the situation on the home front will leave him time to do it.

Burnham also had business deals with two mysterious Chinese companies — Kirin Global Enterprses Limited and Harvest Global Investors, according to the book.

Kirin Global Enterprise Limited was an investment vehicle run by Xiangyao (or Yaojun) “Larry” Liu and Guo Jianfeng, according to Schweizer. “Very little is known about Kirin or its two principals, other than the fact that they invest heavily in mainland Chinese real estate,” he writes. Harvest Global Investors was a Chinese investment firm linked to the government in Beijing.

Burnham also had a financial relationship with Russian Oligarch Yelena Baturina, a billionaire with extensive political connections in Moscow and links to Russian organized crime, according to Schweizer. Archer said Baturina invested $200 million into “various investment funds” with which he was involved.

Burnham also got wrapped up in a $60 million fraudulent bond scheme to rip off union pension funds and the poorest Indian tribe in America, the Oglala Sioux, Schweizer writes.

In May 2016, Archer was arrested in New York and charged with “orchestrating a scheme to defraud investors and a Native American tribal entity of tens of millions of dollars.”

Some of the targeted were government employee or labor union organizations that had supported Joe Biden in the past. Biden has long described himself as a “union man.”

Although Hunter Biden was not charged, Schweizer writes, “his fingerprints were all over Burnham.” The legitimacy that his name and political status as the vice president’s son lent to Burnham was brought up repeatedly during the trial, he writes.

That status was used as a means of both recruiting pension money into the scheme and alleviating investors’ concerns, he writes. In an August 2014 email, Jason Galanis, who was convicted in the bond scheme, agreed that Burnham had “value beyond capital” because of their political connections.

Hunter Biden had an office at Burnham’s New York City offices on Fifty-Seventh Street, and during the trial, numerous witnesses came forward describing Hunter’s involvement with the firm, according to the book.

Schweizer writes these deals have long been a pattern with the Biden family, to include Hunter Biden:

With the election of his father as vice president, Hunter Biden launched businesses fused to his father’s power that led him to lucrative deals with a rogue’s gallery of governments and oligarchs around the world. Sometimes he would hitch a prominent ride with his father aboard Air Force Two to visit a country where he was courting business. Other times, the deals would be done more discreetly. Always they involved foreign entities that appeared to be seeking something from his father. Often, the countries in question, including Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan, had highly corrupt political cultures.

In short, Hunter Biden was not cutting

business deals in Japan or Great Britain,

where disclosure rules and corporate

governance might require greater scrutiny.

These were deals in the truly dark corners of

the world.

Senate Finance Committee Probes Biden-Linked, Chinese Military-Boosting Tech Sale

Tom Brenner/Getty Images

HARIS ALIC

 15 Aug 20192,058

3:44

The Senate Finance Committee is probing the Obama administration’s 2015 decision to approve the sale of a U.S. company with insight into “military applications” to the Chinese government and an investment firm run by former Vice President Joe Biden’s youngest son, Hunter Biden.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the committee’s chairman, sent a letter to the Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin on Thursday requesting documents relating to the sale of Henniges, a Michigan-based automotive company, to Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) and Bohai Harvest RST (BHR). The latter was formed in 2013 by a merger between a subsidiary of the Bank of China and Rosemont Seneca, a firm started by Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz, the stepson of former Secretary of State John Kerry.

Since AVIC was a subsidiary of the Chinese government and Henniges, the producer of “dual-use” anti-vibration technology with military application, the deal required approval from the Obama administration’s Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). The panel — made up of representatives from 16 different federal bodies, including the departments of State, Treasury, and Defense — is required to review any transaction that could lead to a foreign person gaining control of an American business.

In question is whether CIFUS was influenced by Obama administration officials, most notedly Joe Biden and John Kerry, who had an interest in seeing the deal move forward.

“The direct involvement of Mr. Hunter Biden and Mr. Heinz in the acquisition of Henniges by the Chinese government creates a potential conflict of interest,” Grassley wrote.

The senator noted in his letter that AVIC’s bid for Henniges should have immediately set off alarm bells in the Obama White House. In 2007, AVIC “reportedly involved in stealing sensitive data regarding the Joint Strike Fighter program,” which it later “reportedly incorporated … into China’s J-20 and J31 aircraft.”

Even more troubling, however, is that bid was facilitated at the same time China was staking out a more adversarial role in global affairs. At the time, Beijing was suspected of undermining U.S. cybersecurity by underwriting hackers stealing governmental data. There was also simmering tension over disputes in the South China Sea.

Despite the threat to national security, the $600 million deal was approved by CIFUS, with AVIC purchasing 51 percent of the company and BHR taking ownership of the other 49 percent. Upon purchase, an industry newsletter stated the deal was the “biggest Chinese investment into US automotive manufacturing assets to date.”

In his letter to Mnuchin, Grassley compared the deal to the Uranium One scandal, which arose when former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton approved the sale of a Canadian mining company to Rosatom, the state-owned Russian nuclear energy conglomerate. It later emerged that both investors in the company and Russian energy officials had donated heavily to the Clinton Foundation.

“As with the Uranium One transaction, there is cause for concern that potential conflicts of interest could have influenced CFIUS’ approval of the Henniges transaction,” Grassley wrote. “Accordingly, Congress and the public must fully understand the decision-making process that led to the Henniges approval and the extent to which CFIUS fully considered the transaction’s national security risks.”

This is not the first time that Hunter Biden’s ties to China have caused grief for his father’s political career. As Peter Schweizer, a senior contributor at Breitbart News, revealed in his bestselling book Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends, Hunter Biden signed the $1.5 billion deal creating BHR in 2013 only ten days after visiting China aboard Air Force Two with his father.

The Biden Plan to Squeeze the Middle Class

In a December 1 tweet, Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) got right to the point:

A year ago America was energy independent.  Now gas prices have skyrocketed, with Hoosiers paying 68% more at the pump compared to this day last year.  High energy costs hurt everyone and are a direct result of the mindless decisions made by Joe Biden.

Nothing to argue with here, except for one thing: Maybe the Biden administration’s decisions were not “mindless.”  Maybe they’re just the opposite:  Maybe they’re all part of a plan—a plan, as Joe Biden said in 2020, to “fundamentally transform the country.”

To be sure, from a Democratic political point of view, it’s a counter-productive plan; it could cause Democrats to lose elections.  And yet from a progressive ideological point of view, it all makes sense; it’s in keeping with the long march of a certain kind of leftism, begun more than a century ago.

The Associated Press

Without a doubt, the lefty greens who dominate the Biden administration are thinking big—and they’re in a hurry.  In a hurry, that is, to reach their long-sought end point on environmentalism. As they wrote in the Democratic Party’s 2020 campaign platform:

We agree with scientists and public health experts that the United States—and the world—must achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible, and no later than 2050.

We can pause over the vaulting ambition here: Net-zero greenhouse gases, not just for America, but for the world

Yet it soon becomes clear that the Biden greens’ main focus is the United States.  The same platform document calls for “eliminating carbon pollution from power plants by 2035.” And since the Chinese are still building coal plants, that means, as a kind of compensation, that the Democrats must come down all the harder on American carbon-fuel plants.  The greens have to have a win somewhere!

Similarly, the Democratic platform focuses heavily on electric cars, ASAP, because, after all, in the writers’ minds, Teslas are cool and Buicks are not.

Yet most of all, the platform urges urgency. Phrases such as “climate change,” “climate crisis,” and “climate risks” appear hundreds of times of times in the document.

It’s clear: This is what a certain tranche of elite Democrats—the kind that sit around, reading and writing position papers—truly believe:  As President Biden said on November 1, climate change is “an existential threat to human existence.”

The Associated Press

So yes, they still believe in the Green New Deal.  To be sure, the exact words “Green New Deal” are no longer used—they were laughed off the political stage in 2019—and yet the concept of deep eco-transformation is still central to progressive hearts.  Nowadays, though, it goes by other names, such as the Great Reset.

Guided by such existentially ambitious thinking, of course the Biden administration has sought to kibosh carbon-based fuels, starting with—on his first day in office—canceling the Keystone Pipeline. Now some might wonder: What about jobs?  To which the Great Resetters reply, in effect,  Jobs, schmobs—that was all just boob bait for Biden voters. What really matters is decarbonizing the planet.

Obviously, in addition to hurting employment, such cancellations were going to raise the price of carbon-based energy, including gasoline.   And  in fact, for most of this year, the White House insisted that higher gas prices were all to the good—the greater good (or is it greater god?) of decarbonization.

Indeed, higher energy prices are baked into the Democrats’ multi-trillion-dollar reconciliation bill; as energy expert Alex Epstein pointed out on November 30:

“Build Back Better,” aka “Make Everything Worse,” promises to further restrict US oil production and increase prices via:

1. new bans on offshore drilling,

2. a costly methane tax that only applies to US production, and

3. many other oil taxes and penalties.

Democrats insist that they are going full speed ahead on this legislation, which Sen. John N. Kennedy (R-LA) variously dubs “Build Back Bonkers” and “Build Back Broke.”  And yet electoral-minded Dems have started to notice that this approach isn’t popular.  Biden’s approval rating on handling the economy fell into the high 30s last month, and we have yet to see what happens to his poll numbers when everyone realizes that inflation is non-transitory.

Already, according to a recent poll cited in The New York Times:

72 percent of registered voters wanted Mr. Biden’s top priority to be getting inflation under control and fixing supply chain issues, compared with 21 percent who thought the priority should be new spending on social services, health care and green energy.

So we can see: Nearly three-fourths of Americans want Biden to focus on curbing inflation, compared to 21 percent who want him to focus on everything else, including the Dems’ sacred “green energy.”

And since Biden is doing the opposite of what the vast majority wants, Democratic political fortunes are sinking; according to the betting site PredictIt, Republicans have a 71 percent likelihood of winning the U.S. Senate next year, and an 83 percent probability of winning the House of Representatives.

Yet true-believing greens have their eye on their grand goal, which to them is vastly more important than grubby politics.

Thus Biden climate chief John Kerry, who shrewdly married into billions—and who used his donor-class clout to muscle his way into the administration—said loftily on December 1, “We have to be phasing out coal plants five times faster.”  That’s not exactly the way to woo Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and his key senate vote, but Kerry is too rich to care about “little people.”

So now we mere mortals might step back and ask: How did we get here?  How did we end up with an intensely ideological administration committed to an unpopular agenda?

The Root of Zealotry: Progressive Technocracy

Michael Lind is a professor at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.  Which is to say, he’s not exactly a Tea Party or Trump Republican.  And yet in a long article for Tablet, this scholar applies a critical eye to the Biden-Kerry administration’s green zeal, which he sees as just the latest manifestation of “progressive technocracy.”

Lind explains that progressive technocrats trace their lineage back a century or more, to the days President Woodrow Wilson.  That’s when “prog-techs” got the blessing to start reordering American society in ways that a Princeton University professor (which Wilson once was) would approve of.  As Lind writes:

[Their] utopia is a planned society administered by social scientists and technical experts.  In it, social engineers, insulated from democratic accountability and wielding vast authority, are empowered to devise long-range plans to promote social and environmental goals, which are handed over to deferential elected officials to implement with few changes—against the opposition of the ignorant masses if necessary.

Here Lind pauses to make a key point: The progressive technocrats are not communists.  That is, they don’t sit around thinking of Bolshevizing the means of production, nor do they look forward to living in propertyless communes and wearing egalitarian Mao suits.

Instead, the prog-techs like to live well, and they are quite friendly to capitalism, albeit capitalism in its most elitist, cronyistic, and woke form.  It’s that tight relationship with money, Lind explains, that’s the source of their power: They are financed by capitalist wealth, shoveled toward them by “Silicon Valley and Wall Street moguls who find technocracy the most congenial version of liberalism.”

Yet make no mistake: There’s an iron fist inside this liberal glove.  And that’s what we’re seeing with climate change, as the technocrats embrace this new issue as a rationale for doing what they’ve always wanted to do: bend the citizenry to do their bidding. As Lind explains:

Rising concern about global warming in the last three decades has given progressive technocrats an opportunity to move from the political sidelines to the center.  Because of the “climate emergency,” the various causes of twentieth-century progressive planners—high-density housing, replacement of automobiles by mass transit, renewable energy—are no longer matters of personal taste.  Now these generations-old top-down social engineering schemes are necessary to save the planet.  If these plans are not immediately adopted into a war-like mobilization, progressive technocrats claim, civilization will collapse, and hundreds of millions or billions of people—perhaps humanity as a whole—will die.

Got that? Do as the prog-techs tell you, or die!  And thus we can see that one needn’t be an all-out communist to nonetheless think like Josef Stalin or Pol Pot.

In reality, the notion that climate change is some sort of immediately deadly emergency is a non-fact. That’s the view of Ted Nordhaus, a preacher of reason at the Breakthrough Institute, writing in The Economist.  Nordhaus does not dispute that climate change is happening, and yet he points to truths that are inconvenient to prog-tech climate-alarmism:

Deaths around the world from climate-related disasters are at an all-time low.  People’s vulnerability to extreme weather has fallen rapidly in recent decades.  Recent research in Global Environmental Change shows that climate vulnerability has declined the most in recent decades among the poor globally, owing to the resilience that comes with economic growth and development.

And that’s the point: We can survive changes in the weather the same way that we survive changes in anything: with brains and the ability to adapt.  That’s why have roofs over our head, and heat and electricity—because we built them, for our safety and comfort.  And if we need to build newer and better, we’re smart enough to do that.

Another climate-rationalist, Bjørn Lomborg, made similar points in his 2020 book, False Alarm: How Climate Change Panic Costs Us Trillions, Hurts the Poor, and Fails to Fix the Planet.  As the author explains, the impact of climate change, by the end of the 21st century, will amount to about 2.6 percent of world economic output.  In dollar terms, that’s a huge amount, and yet in percentage terms, it’s obviously small—and so it’s manageable.  We just have to figure out how to manage it, Lomborg continues, through a combination of carbon dioxide reduction (nuclear power, carbon capture) and physical mitigation (sea walls, water pumps).

It should be noted that we might have to do all this adapting no matter what we do, or don’t do, on carbon dioxide, because the earth is getting warmer, seemingly for reasons far beyond our control.  In fact, the entire solar system is getting warmer, most notably, the planet Venus.  (Who does Greta Thunberg blame for that?)

Still, whatever the cause of earthly climate change, we probably do have to do something to adapt. Here experts Nordhaus and Lomborg agree: With the right mix of human brains and economic resources—resources that can only come from continued growth—we can calmly solve whatever challenges loom ahead.

In the meantime, this much is obvious: The whole progressive technocratic doomsday argument is somewhere between a false alarm and a hoax.  We may need to take action, but we don’t need John Kerry and the Green New Dealers Great Resetters to tell us what to do, or how to do it.

Yet at least for now, the Bidenite prog-techs are in charge.  So how did that happen?  How have they come so far in Resetting us?

Perhaps because the prog-techs have been boosted by a partner—a partner across the Pacific Ocean.

Qui Bono?—Who Benefits from the Green New Deal?

Michael Lind is crisp and to the point: The green progressive-technocrats have a de facto ally in the People’s Republic of China.  And China is the big winner in the Green New Deal, the Great Reset, or whatever else it might be called.

Needless to say, the Red Chinese regime itself isn’t the least bit green.  As noted, the country is still building coal plants. However, the Beijing capitalist-communists have been clever: They have used their cheap coal-powered electricity—and slave- or semi-slave labor—to dominate the world market in the manufacture of solar panels.  And now the American prog-techs want America to buy them from China, by the boatload.

Of course, it doesn’t have to be this way. We could mandate that the green technology we use must be Made in USA.  However, it would take a few years to stand up these new industries, and the green prog-techs say that we can’t wait, because of the urgency of the “climate crisis.”

Not surprisingly, for their own reasons, the Chinese agree: Buy solar panels from us. Now.  This is the de facto alliance: American greens and Chinese reds. Lind writes:

It is thus no coincidence that American supporters of the Green New Deal tend also to be dovish toward China in matters of trade, arguing that the coming climate crisis gives the United States no time to rebuild its own capacity to manufacture equipment needed for renewable energy installations.

The green prog-techs say: Never mind China’s human rights abuses, or its threats to neighbors, or its ongoing theft of American intellectual property.  As Kerry has said, the chief concern must be climate change.

To that end, just on December 2, The Washington Post reported that the Biden administration was lobbying against Congressional efforts to get tough on blood-stained Chinese exports.  In the cutting words of Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), the Bidenites are lobbying “because John Kerry wants to import solar panels made by slave labor.”

For American greens, it’s climate first. For Chinese leaders, it’s China first.

Air Force Secretary: We’re Competing with China for Military Superiority, China ‘Trying to Target’ U.S. Assets

1:02

During a portion of an interview with CNBC on Friday, Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall said the United States is competing for military superiority with China, and China has been “building systems that are increasingly capable over a long time now, trying to target those assets of the United States.”

Kendall said, “We’re not in a traditional arms race where we try to buy more than somebody else and they try to buy more than we are. We’re in a race for quality. We’re in a race for military superiority, largely through technology, and China has observed, going back to the Gulf War 30 years ago, how we project power and what we rely upon to do that and they’ve been building systems that are increasingly capable over a long time now, trying to target those assets of the United States.”

· Feinsteins Close China Ties Under Scrutiny After Chinese Spy Discovery

· BY ZACHARY STIEBER

·

· News of a Chinese spy working for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein broke recently, revealing the spy was employed by Feinstein for 20 years.

· Initially reported as part of a larger story about spies in Silicon Valley, a former intelligence official later revealed that the staffer was Feinstein’s driver for many years.

· The source told the San Francisco Chronicle that the driver passed information to Chinese officials based at the local Chinese Consulate. Part of the staffer’s role was acting as a liaison between Feinstein’s San Francisco office and the local consulate.

· The staffer was recruited to spy after visiting China.

· The staffer, who has not been named, worked for Feinstein for 20 years.

·
Senator Feinstein was alerted to the spy about five years ago. The FBI alerted Feinstein after investigating and finding the staffer shared nothing of substance.

· “They interviewed him, and Dianne forced him to retire, and that was the end of it,” the source said. “None of her staff ever knew what was going on. They just kept it quiet.”

· Feinstein wouldn’t comment on the spy but her office told CBS that none of the staffers in San Francisco have ever had security clearances.

· Noting the oddness of the discovery, President Donald Trump said via Twitter on August 3: “Dianne is the person leading our Nation on ‘Collusion’ with Russia (only done by Dems). Will she now investigate herself?”

· …Dianne is the person leading our Nation on “Collusion” with Russia (only done by Dems). Will she now investigate herself? https://t.co/OG6l04bBwg

· — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 4, 2018

· Feinstein’s Relationship With China

· Some details of Feinstein’s past are now being examined anew, centered on her close relationship with China, beginning with her service as mayor of San Francisco from 1978 to 1988.

· Feinstein has long been linked to China. For instance, she hosted former president of China Jiang Zemin at her home for dinner when she was mayor of San Francisco, and celebrated the resumption of air service from China to the United States (starting with San Francisco International Airport) after a 32-year hiatus.

· San Francisco and Shanghai have been sister cities for 38 years, after the agreement was put into place by Feinstein and Jiang, who was then Shanghai’s mayor. Feinstein was cited as having a “close relationship” with Jiang and ties between the two continued for many years later.

· Jiang is infamous for cracking down on human rights, most notoriously by banning the peaceful meditation practice of Falun Gong and throwing many of its estimated 100 million adherents into jail.

· A re-enactment of organ harvesting in China on Falun Gong practitioners, during a rally in Ottawa, Canada, 2008. (The Epoch Times)

· Under Jiang, torture, rape, murder, and even organ harvesting from detained practitioners became common.

· To help facilitate the relationship between the U.S. and China, Feinstein asked organizers of the city’s popular Chinese New Year Parade to stop displaying the flag of the Nationalist Chinese government, which ruled in exile in Taiwan after 1949.

· Feinstein also defended China, despite its communist policies, insisting that it was merely “socialist.”

· “There was originally this kind of anti-communist view of China,” Feinstein told the Washington Post. “That’s changing. . . . China is a socialist country but one that is increasingly becoming capitalistic.”

· Husband Becomes Prominent Investor in China

· Several articles from the 90s explore the development of not only Feinstein’s developing relationship with China while she was mayor, but her husband’s burgeoning investments there.

· According to the Los Angeles Times, in 1997 Feinstein’s husband Richard Blum, who invests his own and clients’ money into undervalued firms, expanded his business investments into the communist nation to the point that “his firm is now a prominent investor” there.

· In 1992, the investments amounted to one project worth less than $500,000. Two years later he was planning to invest up to $150 million and two years after that a Blum investment firm paid $23 million for a stake in a Chinese government-owned steel company.

· Another investment by Blum’s firm was helped by the International Finance Corp., an arm of the World Bank, which invested $10 million in the leading producers of soybean milk and candy in China.

· Utterly amazing to read this 1997 report on Sen Feinstein’s family’s political and business ties to #China in context of revelations about a Chinese spy working for her as a driver for 20 years, quietly let go seemingly rather than being brought to justice https://t.co/efwT2yZgkg pic.twitter.com/twAI5igZ2I

· — Benjamin Weingarten (@bhweingarten) August 4, 2018

· “It seems to be going quite well,” Rashad Kaldan—who in 1994 managed the IFC’s capital markets investments in Asia—told the Times of the project. He added: “There also was some comfort in that Mr. Blum had some contacts with the Chinese.”

· Blum said that his interest in China went back many years, predating political connections. He won permission from the Chinese in 1981 to climb the east face of Mt. Everest and called himself a close friend of the Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan leader who the Chinese government opposes.

· In dispatches written for the San Francisco Examiner, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, Blum said that a goodwill visit to China by Feinstein in 1979 helped him win permission to climb Everest.

· “We had come to build goodwill, promote trade and to make new friends,” Blum wrote in one story, adding, “but I asked for and received permission to have another kind of meeting—one with the Chinese Mountaineering Association.”

· Trips to China

· Feinstein took three trips between 1995 and 1997 to China, in addition to trips earlier in her mayoral service, to meet with top communist officials, including Jiang. Blum often attended the meetings with her, an arrangement the Times described as “unusual.”

· At one time, the couple had dinner at Zhongnanhai, the enclave reserved for the president and other top officials in China.

· “We had dinner in Zhongnanhai in Mao Tse-tung’s old residence in the room where he died. We were told that we were the first foreigners to see his bedroom and the swimming pool. It was a very historic moment to see some of these things,” told the Los Angeles Times. Mao was the communist leader of China whose policies led to the deaths of tens of millions of Chinese people.

· Feinstein insisted that Blum had never spoken to officials during meetings about business.

· “I am open to any suggestion as to how I can even make a firewall more fireproof,” she said. “I don’t know what else I can do. . . . Either he retires or I suppose we end our marriage.”
