No Jail for NYC Prankster Who Told Diners He Had a Bomb and Would Kill Them for Allah

Malik Sanchez hopes to join the military - and he will likely have no trouble getting in.

When Malik Sanchez was sentenced on Wednesday for claiming he had a bomb and telling two women outside a New York City restaurant that he was going to kill them, he apologized to the women and said that his actions were those of an “immature and reckless child.” Manhattan federal court Judge Colleen McMahon stopped him right there and corrected him, saying his action was “that of a sicko.” Nevertheless, she gave him no jail time at all while praising his post-arrest behavior and calling him a “pretrial success story.” Scaring people half to death is no big deal in New York City; in the decaying Leftist paradise of Bill de Blasio and Eric Adams, it takes a great deal to be sent to prison.

Sanchez faced up to five years in prison, but McMahon sentenced him to time served: he spent 23 days in jail after he was arrested and nine months confined to home. It was an extraordinarily light sentence for Sanchez, who ran a modestly popular (he had 5,400 subscribers) YouTube channel called “Smooth Sanchez” that has been dormant since his arrest. I watched hours of this little creep’s videos last year when he was first arrested, trying to find his bombing threat, but he had apparently already taken it down. He terrorized people not just in the instance in which he got arrested; his whole act was to walk around Manhattan and harass random strangers. He even assaulted one man, but apparently his victim didn’t wish to press charges. Whatever else he may be, Malik Sanchez is certainly a sociopath and possibly a dangerous one.

The “Smooth Sanchez” videos feature Malik Sanchez walking along the streets of New York City and yelling abuse at passersby, mostly young women. (He identified himself as an “incel.”) In a February 2021 video, Sanchez approached the outdoor seating area of a Manhattan restaurant where the two women were dining and said he was going to “enhance their meal.” Then he began shouting, “Bomb detonation in two, in two minutes.” He screamed, “I take you with me and I kill all you. I kill all you right now. And I kill all you for Allah. F**k, f**k that s**t. I’m gonna Allah. I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna f***ing do it for Allah. I’m gonna do it, for, Allah, Allah, Allahu akbar, Come on. I do it, bomb now, bomb now.”

This moving peroration led six people to flee from the enclosed outdoor dining area, which the Cary-Grant-like, self-proclaimed Smooth young man took as a victory. “Yo, all of them scattered. … Holy s**t. Holy s**t, boys. That was f***ing five stars. That was five stars. Holy s**t, huh?”

According to the Daily Beast, in another video on March 20, 2021, Sanchez was seen “making hand gestures ‘mimicking pointing a gun.'” A court filing stated, “After multiple individuals attempted to get Sanchez to stop, Sanchez sprayed pepper spray in the face of one of those individuals. Sanchez was arrested by responding NYPD officers and charged with state offenses and was thereafter released on bail.”

Not only that, but once Sanchez had been arrested, police discovered that he had previously pepper-sprayed another woman when she took exception to his videoing her.

One of the women who was at the restaurant when Sanchez came up and started screaming about Allah and his bomb recounted, “For the next several weeks, I lived with my parents in Pennsylvania, too afraid to return to life in the city. I was convinced that a terrorist was operating in my neighborhood, ready to actually use violence at any given time. Mr. Sanchez altered my faith in humanity and made me realize there are truly bad people out there who enjoy seeing others suffer.”

Yes, there are, and Malik Sanchez is certainly one of them. But that’s no big deal in today’s entirely Leftist-ruled New York City, where coming down too hard on a young man who screamed “Allahu akbar” while making a hoax bomb threat might have appeared to be “Islamophobic.” Now, Sanchez hopes to join the military and he will likely have no trouble getting in, as no one in Gen. Mark Milley’s woke armed forces will care that he once faced charges for pretending to be an enemy of the United States. Loyalty? Dependability? Pah! No one cares about such things anymore. If Malik Sanchez can master the intricacies of Critical Race Theory, he’ll be a prized recruit.

Sword and Scimitar: The Troubled History Between Islam and Christianity

A review of the must-read book by Shillman Fellow Raymond Ibrahim.

The following partial book review of Shillman Fellow Raymond Ibrahim’s Sword and Scimitar was written by John C. Zimmerman, of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and appeared in Terrorism and Political Violence (33:8, 1824-1825, DOI), a journal of the Routledge Taylor & Francis Group.  The complete review can be accessed here.

Many current accounts of the long struggle between Islam and Christianity tend to focus on the periods beginning with the Crusades in the late 11th century and the era beginning with Western ascendance and colonialism in the 18th century. Utilizing a vast array of sources, Raymond Ibrahim reminds us that the actual struggle began with the Muslim conquests of Christian lands in the first half of the 7th century and that the expansion and conquests continued until 1683. Hence, “the West is what remained of Christendom after Islam conquered some three-fourths of its original territory.”

[…]

The early battles between Christians and Muslims centered on the Byzantine Empire (Eastern Christianity), North Africa, and parts of Europe (i.e Spain and France). […]

By the 11th century, the Muslim armies fighting the Byzantine Empire were dominated primarily by the Seljuk Turks. In 1049 they attacked the Armenian city of Arzden where a chronicler noted that as many as 150,000 residents were slaughtered and the city—which contained 800 churches—was torched. Eleven years later 600 churches were destroyed in Sebastia (modern-day Sivas) The devastating Christian loss at the battle of Manzikert in 1071 greatly increased Muslim strength and threatened the existence of Eastern Christianity. The victorious sultan declared: “I shall consume with the sword all those people who venerate the cross, and all the lands of the Christians shall be enslaved.” These events and many others would lead Pope Urban II to call for the crusades, intended to be a counter-offensive to reconquer Jerusalem, in 1095. “Christians everywhere felt ready to take the war to—instead of always receiving it from—the ancient foe.”

[…]

The biggest Muslim victory came with the Ottoman Turkish conquest of Constantinople in 1453. There had been continuous Muslim attempts to conquer the city since the early 8th century. The conquest was particularly brutal. Christian accounts speak of widespread slaughter, rape and desecration of churches. An Ottoman chronicle states: “They [Turkish soldiers] made the people of the city slaves . . . and the gazis [Turkish fighters] embraced [i.e.raped] their pretty girls.” However, the end of the Muslim conquests came in 1683 with the Christian victory in the Battle of Vienna. Ibrahim gives a riveting account of the battle. Ironically, by the mid-19th century the two most powerful colonial countries—Great Britain and France—would prevent the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire by coming to its aid against Russia, a Christian country, in the Crimean War.

Throughout the book Ibrahim emphasizes the widespread practice of enslaving the conquered Christians. Muslim accounts mention the preference for fair skinned women. This went on from the 7th through the 19th centuries. Over a three century period beginning in the mid-15th century about 3 million Slavs—Poles, Lithuanians, Russians and Ukrainians—were enslaved.

Overall, Ibrahim has given a more complete account of the troubled history between Islam and Christianity than is generally available. His focus on how the combatants primarily viewed the struggle as a religious war is especially useful in a period when such phenomenon in the West is viewed through a secular lens, and it helps explain the views of contemporary jihadists. In a time when more general accounts are likely to narrowly focus on the Crusades and Western colonialism, Ibrahim’s important book explains the origins of both.

India: Policeman Rescues Infant From Flames After Muslim Mob Attacks Hindus Celebrating Hindu New Year

An image that shatters the propaganda of perennial Muslim victimhood.

The image is one of valor and courage, and deserves to win awards. But it does not suit the propaganda of perennial Muslim victimhood that the biggest names in global media promulgate. It also shatters the fake narrative they have peddled for years. It is an image of an Indian policeman who ran through burning buildings to rescue an infant from Islamic rage. This kind of photo makes liberal media platforms uncomfortable.

On April 2, disputes broke out in Karauli, Rajasthan. Hindus were celebrating the Hindu New Year, and had organized a celebratory motorbike rally. While the bikers were passing through a Muslim-dominated area in Karauli, they were ambushed by rioting mobs who had prepared to display their solidarity and communal harmony by throwing stones at these Hindu motorcyclists. The mob flung rocks at these men from all directions.

A couple of police officers were riding with the Hindus in order to provide security from known miscreants and anticipated dangers. But the Indian state of Rajasthan is ruled by the Muslim-pandering Indian National Congress, and there is only so much that security officials can do to protect the Hindus while reporting to a government that is desperate to appease the Muslim community. Often, these policemen also become victims of jihad activity.

Around 43 people, including four police officers, reportedly sustained severe injuries after an enraged Muslim mob charged at the Hindu rally as it passed through the Muslim area. The victims were rushed to the nearest medical facility for treatment; one among these victims was Pushpendra, who was in critical condition and had to be moved to Jaipur, the state capital, for better medical attention.

Some news reports suggest that some individuals also had knife wounds, but the administration has not confirmed these claims. The hospital staffs have also maintained a well-briefed and compliant silence on the matter.

What started as a hail of stones quickly escalated into a massive arson attack and vandalism; dozens of shops were set ablaze, and at least three motorbikes were burned. A curfew had to be imposed in the district to bring the situation under control; mobile Internet also remains suspended.

Police forces have been stationed in the sensitive zones surrounding the epicenter of the violence. Initially, some 600 security personnel had been deployed in Karauli, but the latest reports suggest that a force of 1,200 is now on duty in the district.

The state chief minister took to Twitter and appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony; unfortunately, the miscreants don’t heed his pleas. These groups that were disrupting the peace have no interest in living in harmony with the “idol-worshippers.” They make deliberate attacks on their targets, and as observed in recent years, Hindu festivals top their target list — each one of them, be it Durga Puja, Ram Navami, Saraswati Puja, or a relatively less religious festival, the Hindu New Year.

As per reports, the Muslim group known as the Popular Front of India (PFI) had warned the Congress government and hinted at possible violence should the procession celebrating the Hindu New Year pass through Muslim areas. On April 1, Mohammad Asif, the state president of PFI Rajasthan, wrote a letter to CM Ashok Gehlot.

How weak and submissive must the government of this state be to take no actions against threats of violence that were made publicly, and allow 43 people to end up injured? How low does one go while groveling at the feet of a religious minority?

If the country claims to be secular, how can Muslims claim any part of it as a Muslim-only land where non-Muslims are forbidden from entering, passing through, or celebrating their festivals? Weren’t they awarded a piece of land in 1947, where they can pulling their antics and practice their intolerance to their hearts’ content?

Leaders of the opposition party have lambasted Rajasthan officials and slammed the Congress for its hopeless appeasement of Muslim troublemakers. However, this fails to protect the Hindus. Many Muslims continue to hound them in all states during their festivals, including even in the states that are ruled by the “pro-Hindu” BJP.

Represented as the ever-oppressed minority, all too many Muslims in India habitually resort to unprovoked violence, create unrest, and jeopardize the lives of ordinary citizens around the year. They never run out of excuses to start a dispute. And the respective state and central governments have failed to curb this burgeoning jihad activity, or the flourishing of pro-jihad groups that are quite active despite being banned on paper.

Human Rights Group Decries Christian ‘Genocide’ in Nigeria

International Christian Concern (ICC) has denounced the ongoing “genocide” being carried out on Nigerian Christians by Fulani militants and other Islamic extremists.

“The UN defines genocide as intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group. This is exactly what is happening in Nigeria at the hands of Fulani militants, Boko Haram, and its offshoot, Islamic State West Africa,” ICC spokesman Addison Parker told Crux, an online Catholic news outlet.

“Christian farmers are being killed daily. Priests are targeted, churches are burned down,” Parker said. “While other factors are at play, such as Muslim herders desire for land grabbing, the horrific measures taken to fulfill such desires is fueled by the extremist notion that they are superior to those whom they consider ‘infidels’ – anyone that doesn’t follow their extremist agenda.”

“This gives them the excuse to rid the country of anyone they see as a threat to their goals, all in the name of Allah. This has been happening for the last 20 years,” he added.

On Tuesday, ICC President Jeff King noted that “Christian communities in the Middle Belt region of Nigeria have effectively suffered a 20-year genocide.”

“The Nigerian government gives these attacks lip service without any meaningful response. Where is the outcry? Where is effective action?” he asked.

King recalled that in Nigeria, “the military, the police, and the intelligence agencies are all controlled by Muslims. This, coupled with a 20-year lack of response by these agencies, should naturally lead to deeper questioning by the international community.”

Last week, the Nigerian Catholic bishops released a scathing letter, titled “Nigeria: A Nation Groans in Pains,” in which they assign significant blame for ongoing terrorism to the government of Muhammadu Buhari, a Fulani Muslim.

“That all these atrocities against the people and the nation happen without a single arrest or prosecution, seem to give credibility to the widespread belief that the government is complacent, helpless or compromising,” the bishops declared.

“Considering the billions of naira appropriated for security and the fight against terrorism in recent times, it is difficult to imagine that a large number of terrorists, who unleashed terror on unarmed and law-abiding citizens, can disappear in broad daylight without a trace,” they stated.

“It is indeed very hard to believe that our security apparatus lacks intelligence or the ability to fight and defeat terrorists in our nation. Nigerians are sick of flimsy excuses and bogus promises of the government to deal with terrorists.”

On Wednesday, ICC reported of protests in the Plateau State capital city of Jos demanding justice for Christians killed by militants in Nigeria. Demonstrators carried signs with slogans such as “Stop Christian Persecution,” “End the Killings,” and “We want Justice.”

Protest organizer Ezekiel Bini, leader of the Irigwe adult group, said that “since 2016 to date over 600 Christians were killed and 24,000 people were displaced without any assistance from the government.”

Despite the number of atrocities, “no Fulani terrorist was arrested and no relief aid was given to persecuted Christians,” Bini said.

Last Monday, Fulani raiders killed 14 Christians, including women and children, in Nigeria’s predominantly Christian Benue State, close to the state capital of Makurdi.

Benue State is predominantly Christian, and its governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, has long spoken out against the continued violence in the region, making him the target of an assassination attempt by Fulani Muslims in 2021.
