JOE BIDEN - I LOVE INFLATION AS MUCH AS I LOVE OPEN BORDERS FOR HORDES OF 'CHEAP' LABOR - THERE'S A REASON WHY WALL STREET LOVES A GOOD GAMER LAWYER IN THE WHITE HOUSE

“Joe Biden wants this crisis. He wants to reshape America in his image, he thinks that these are future voters for him,” he said. “He wants this crisis. They’re willing to take a political hit now to get more future Democrats across the border.”

How Biden Stopped Worrying and Learned To Love Inflation

Rampant inflation dooms the incumbent, vindicates right-wing economic theories, and sets back the post-war liberal welfare project a generation. Those are not the words of a Wall Street Journal editorial, but of Joe Biden.

They came during an interview in 1987, at the early stages of Biden's first presidential run. At the time, he lamented voters' disillusionment with government and large spending proposals associated with the New Deal and Great Society. The skyrocketing inflation that defined the presidencies of Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Jimmy Carter, according to Biden, sparked a suspicion of government.

"Government was making the wrong decisions," Biden told the Atlantic. "As much as 5 or 6 percentage points on the inflation rate were due to oil. Another 5 percent was due to Vietnam. And so you have 10 or 11 percent on top of the inflation that had accumulated since 1932, as conservatives had predicted, and BAM—everything's gone."

If those conditions sound familiar, it's because they are. Inflation is the highest it's been in 40 years—driven in part by the war in Ukraine, rising oil prices, and an unprecedented amount of federal spending—and it risks completely sinking Biden's presidency just as they sank Carter's.

Yet the Biden of the 1970s and the Biden of 2022 might as well be two different people, with the latter challenging economic orthodoxy and alleging that new entitlements and stimulus in the form of Build Back Better will actually bring consumer prices down. As a young, reform-minded senator in the 1970s, Biden introduced bills to slash tens of millions of dollars from what believed were ineffective and useless federal agencies and insisted the only way out of America's stagflation nightmare was massive spending cuts. His 180-degree change reflects the leftward lurch of a Democratic Party and White House staffed with ideologues (many of whom never lived through the 1970s) able to convince a nearly 80-year-old president that everything he once understood about how the economy worked was completely wrong.

"The taxpayers of this country have been charged $52 million to support 1,500 advisory committees, despite the fact that 397 of these committees have never even met and another 891 have never produced a single report," Biden said in 1975.

Those positions earned praise from such then-conservative-leaning publications as U.S. News & World Report, which wrote that lawmakers such as Biden "are increasingly disillusioned with Great Society-type programs."

Biden agreed with that assessment: "We newer liberal Democrats are rejecting the theory of our more senior colleagues, which was that if you spend enough money you can solve any problem," Biden said in 1972.

Democrats, according to Biden in 1974, had lost focus on who their main constituency should be: the middle class. The persistent inflation that defined that decade convinced the average working man who makes "$12,000 a year" (around $70,000 today) that "he's been had." Poor Americans, Biden said, had received an inordinate amount of attention from lawmakers.

When angry truckers appeared in 1973 in Washington, D.C., as part of their nationwide effort to shut down transit in protest of rising gas prices, Biden was one of the few lawmakers who met with them. His appearance at the protest set him apart from more liberal members of the Democratic Party—then-senator George McGovern (S.D.), a former presidential candidate and supposed ally of labor, was nowhere to be found—and helped Biden paint an image of himself as a pragmatist.

A year and a half into his first presidential term, Biden has been dogged by criticism that he's not doing enough to lower gas prices (as well as by an angry trucking industry with grievances that his White House refuses to acknowledge). Critics point to shutting down pipelines and failing to renew oil licenses on federal lands.

After reviewing then-president Gerald Ford's budget, Biden expressly attacked the White House for not doing enough to address high gas prices and for its tax hikes on corporations, arguing there were better ways to cool demand. During a Senate hearing in 1974, Biden chastised liberals for forgetting "the vast resources of the ocean and their importance to us … [which] range from lobsters to oil."

Although Biden called for some tax hikes on the margins, his plan to curb inflation was defined mostly by spending cuts. During his Senate reelection campaign in 1978, Biden took out a full-page advertisement in the News Journal, one of the largest newspapers in his home state of Delaware, to promote his "sunset bill" that would force "a thorough and complete review of federal spending programs every four years … [that] would automatically end a program that wasn't proved useful or effective."

The News Journal Tue Oct 24… by Washington Free Beacon

"The spiraling costs of inflation are ripping into the fabric of American society," the ad reads. "We must bring these problems under control and the first place to start is with the cost of government."

Biden's earliest days in the Senate were defined by bills to reduce federal spending. One of the first bills he introduced was to cap pay raises for all federal employees and block automatic cost-of-living adjustments.

By 1978, Biden said he earned the moniker one of the country's "stingiest senators." His bills targeted the budgets of the Department of Labor and what was then called the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. He criticized the welfare system as "wasteful" and said it largely functioned as a way "to build political patronage."

"I plan to keep chopping away—cutting wherever I can—so that eventually, we're going to bring the monstrous federal budget under control," Biden said during his first term in the Senate. "It'll take time, but I know we can do it. We must."

By 1979, the federal budget deficit was roughly $40.7 billion. In 2022, the federal budget deficit neared $1.4 trillion—an increase of $500 billion since 2019. In 1978, the inflation rate sat at 7.59 percent. Today, it sits at 8.5 percent.

A Gallup poll taken in April 1978—a year and a half into Carter's term—found that just 39 percent of voters approved of the then-president's job performance, with the firm concluding that the economy was responsible for Carter's 9-point drop in one month. In April 2022, Gallup found that 41 percent of voters approved of Biden's job as president, with a majority concerned about the economy.

One month before the 1978 midterms, Carter gave a televised address to the country on the state of the economy. In a rhetorical maneuver that Biden has also employed, Carter championed the improving labor market and pointed to rising inflation rates across the world.

"We know that government is not the only cause of inflation," Carter said. "But it is one of the causes, and government does set an example. Therefore, it must take the lead in fiscal restraint."

Those speeches, like many Carter gave during his only term in the White House, did little to reassure the public. Democrats would end up losing 3 seats in the Senate and 15 in the House.

Although Democrats did not lose control of either chamber of Congress, several Republicans who later led a conservative policy revolution, including Newt Gingrich, gained power. Carter, who afterwards attempted a pivot to the center, in 1980 faced a primary challenge from the left and then lost in the general election to Ronald Reagan.

Confronted with a similarly plummeting approval rating and a grim midterm cycle, party insiders are already speculating on who might replace Biden on the top of the ticket in 2024. An adviser to socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.), Biden's former left-wing rival, said recently Sanders has not ruled out another presidential run.

In a National Journal interview conducted nearly a decade after the 1978 midterms, Biden reflected on the political problems that plagued Democrats.

"There is a consistent pattern that crept into the Democratic Party in the late 1960s and through the 1970s: We forgot who our people were," Biden said. "The moral business of this country is not the way liberals think of it."

20 U.S. Health Care Statistics That Will Absolutely Astonish You

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tMIAMPkmxY

Most recently and dramatically, Biden lied about his knowledge of his son's shady dealings,  lied about his own involvement in corruption and ribery, and lied about his current presidential agenda and what he wants to implement in regards to energy, fracking, court-packing, health care, education, and COVID among other issues.

MARK CHRISTIAN

The U.S. health care industry has become a massive money-making scam, and in today's video, we are going to show the statistics that prove it. The United States spends more on health care per person than any other country in the entire world, and even though we are the most medicated population on the planet, we are also one of the sickest. Amongst developed countries, we have the worst life expectancy and the highest infant mortality despite having to pay the highest prices for health care services by far. While millions of Americans are drowning in medical debt, big pharmaceutical corporations are recording billions of dollars of profits every year, but the quality of the health care that the U.S. population receives in return is rather quite poor.

Right now, health care bills cause more bankruptcies than anything else does. Millions of people are afraid to go to the hospital because they know that even a short visit could result in a gigantic financial burden that could devastate them for decades. Meanwhile, rates of cancer, heart disease and diabetes continue to rise all over the nation. Considering the gigantic piles of money we shell out for health care, we should have the greatest system in the entire world. But we definitely don't, and this is a major indication that something has gone horribly wrong. According to Brookings data, spending on health care in the United States has grown steadily over the past two decades, rising from $2,900 per person in 1980 to $11,200 per person in 2020, marking a staggering 290% increase. With each passing year, health bureaucrats and greedy corporations get increasingly richer with the demise of the U.S. health care system while the rest of us go broke trying to pay for our health care. Over the past three decades, Americans had to face an absurd rise in medical bills and deal with insane levels of medical debt. According to estimates released by the Kaiser Family Foundation, in 2021 alone, 70% of Americans with medical bills had to lower their spending on food to avoid bankruptcy, while 59% had to dig into their savings, using most or all of it to cover an unexpected health expense, 41% were forced to take a second job to be able to pay their debt, and 37% had to borrow money. Rather than doing something to address the abuses of the health insurance and pharmaceutical corporations, over the past two decades, U.S. politicians have actually come up with policies that gave these companies even more power. Under the current policies, our health care costs will go up even faster, and the quality of health care services will continue to go down.  Right now, the health care system in the United States is so broken that it probably cannot be repaired. The entire structure needs to be dismantled and completely reinvented if we want to see actual improvement. But considering that the wealthy bureaucrats are pretty confortable with their billion dollar profits, most of us won't likely see such a change happening in the U.S. health care system in our lifetime.  For more info, find us on: https://www.epiceconomist.com/

Biden Continues Exempting China-Made Medical Supplies from U.S. Tariffs

President Joe Biden’s administration will continue exempting a number of China-made medical products from United States tariffs even as the Chinese coronavirus crisis exposed the nation’s over-reliance on foreign countries for vital supplies.

Late last week, the Biden administration announced that certain medical products made in China would continue to be exempted from U.S. tariffs. The tariff exclusion would have ended at the end of May but now they will be in place until at least the end of November.

The announcement means the Biden administration will allow China-made surgical gloves, face masks, hospital gowns, and medical devices to be sold in the U.S. market, free of charge.

Decades-long U.S. free trade with China, which continues gutting America’s working and middle class communities, has ensured the American economy relies on China and many other foreign countries for key supplies in medicine, tech, minerals, and other industries.

For instance, in 2020, the U.S. imported nearly $300 million worth of hospital and sanitary supplies made of paper — about 51 percent of which was made in China. Likewise, in 2020, the U.S. imported $470 million worth of rubber surgical gloves. More than 70 percent of those gloves arrived from Thailand and Malaysia while over 15 percent were imported from China.

Also in 2020, the U.S. imported over $7 million worth of clothing and accessories made of paper, including paper face masks that were used in the midst of the pandemic and continue to be used by medical professionals in hospital settings. Nearly 60 percent of those imports were made in China.

As Breitbart News reported, in the midst of the pandemic, small-t0-medium American manufacturers said they were not only not being awarded federal contracts to produce these vital medical supplies but that they were not even being contacted.

Though Biden has touted his infrastructure bill as a boost to American manufacturing, the legislation includes huge carve-outs where federal agencies can bypass “Buy American” rules for any infrastructure project.

From 2001 to 2018, U.S. free trade with China eliminated 3.7 million American jobs from the economy — 2.8 million of which were lost in American manufacturing. During that same period, at least 50,000 American manufacturing plants closed down.

Up, Up, and Away: U.S. Gas Prices Hit Another Record-High

U.S. gas prices bounced to a fresh record-high again Sunday, touching an all-time peak of $4.61 per gallon. That is more than 50 percent higher than the cost of a gallon a year ago.

The pump price surge came as tens of thousands of Memorial Day weekend holiday makers hit the road to enjoy some time with family and friends after two years of coronavirus uncertainty.

The Daily Mail reports experts expect a fresh set of numbers will likely surpass the $6 mark by the end of the summer – as pump costs in West Coast cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco already tipped that mark earlier this month.

Last week, the price of a gallon in each of the 50 states surpassed the $4 marker, impacting travel plans for many.

By the July 4 holiday, more states could see average prices above $5 a gallon, analysts say, driven by the inflation wracking the entire economy under President Joe Biden.

“I don’t think as many people are going to hit the road, and if they do, I think a good portion are going to be staying close to home,” Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, told CNBC.

“They’re definitely should be a noticeable bump, but my impression is people are not driving as far. The concern is high prices that are keeping people a little closer. There’s also work-from-home that changed things. There’s a strong subset of people that can basically work from the road all the time.”

Despite record high gas prices AAA predicts Memorial Day car travel to be the busiest since 2019 with over 34 million Americans traveling greater than 50 miles. (Kevin Dietsch/Getty)

AAA expects 39.2 million people in total will travel 50 miles or more this weekend, an increase of 8.3 percent over last year. Of that, there are expected to be 4.6 percent more drivers on the road during the three-day weekend, but that number is still down 7.2 percent from 2019, according to the report.

Across the U.S., prices vary widely, with a high $6.07 per gallon average in California and $4.13 per gallon in Georgia.

As high prices impact consumers, analysts say they will not fill up their vehicles as often, and that reduced demand could act to curb the pace of further price increases.

Soaring Prices, Cancellations, and Delays for Air Travelers over Memorial Day Weekend

If you’re traveling over the Memorial Day weekend, expect plenty of company – and disappointment. The summer travel season is now officially underway with anyone heading for an airport warned to be prepared for soaring prices, cancellations, and delays.

AP reports upwards of 1,500 flights were canceled as of 9:50 p.m EDT Saturday, according to flight tracking website FlightAware. That followed more than 2,300 cancellations on Friday.

Flight no-shows are only the beginning of the problems that lie in wait across Joe Biden’s America as the nation embraces the busiest travel season since the start of 2019.

Domestic airline fares for summer are averaging more than $400 for a round trip, 24 percent percent higher than this time in 2019, before the pandemic, and a full 45 percent higher than a year ago, according to travel-data firm Hopper.

The price rises are driven by demand as airlines and tourist destinations ready for monster crowds this summer as travel restrictions ease and pandemic fatigue overcomes lingering fear of contracting coronavirus during travel.

Soaring oil prices are also adding to the cost burden as Americans feel the pressures across the board.

Many forecasters believe the number of travelers will match or even surpass levels in the gloried pre-pandemic days. However, airlines have thousands fewer employees than they did in 2019, and that has at times contributed to widespread flight cancellations, according to the AP report.

AP outlines Delta Air Lines suffered the most among U.S. airlines, with more than 250 flights, or nine percent of its operations, eliminated on Saturday.

Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, where Delta is based and has its largest hub, experienced heavy travel delays. On Saturday, five percent of the flights there were canceled, while 16 percent were delayed.

Delta noted in an email to AP that Saturday’s cancellations were due to bad weather and “air traffic control actions,” noting it’s trying to cancel flights at least 24 hours in advance this Memorial Day weekend.

New Homes Sales Cratered in April Amid Rising Rates and High Prices

Sales of new single-family homes in the U.S. plunged in April, the fourth consecutive monthly decline, falling to the lowest level since April of 2020.

New home sales decreased 16.6 percent in April compared with the previous month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 591,000, the Commerce Department said Tuesday. That is just barely above the 582,000 level hit during the initial lockdown phase of the pandemic when the economy was brought to a near halt.

Economists had forecast home sales to fall 1.7 percent to 750,000 from the preliminary March report of 763,000. The March report was revised down to 709,000.

Existing homes sales have been cratering, as well. April home sales declined by 2.4 percent compared with March. At a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.61 million, sales were at the slowest pace since June of 2020, according to data released last week from the National Association of Realtors. Compared with a year ago, sales were off by 5.9 percent.

The sharp slowdown in home sales is consistent with the possibility of a recession beginning over the next 12 to 16 months. On the other hand, rising mortgage rates and rising home prices likely indicate that a recession is not yet imminent or already underway.

New home sales are off a sharp 26.9 percent below the April 2021 level, when purchases stood at an annual rate of 809,000. ales were 26.9% below the same month a year earlier, when they stood at an adjusted annual rate of 809,000.

The median price of a new home jumped in April to $450,600 from $435,000 the previous month. That is an all-time record high. After adjusting for inflation, the pre-financial crisis high of 2007 would be $365,000 in today’s dollars. In real terms, new house prices are up by around 23.3 percent since 2007.

Mortgage rates have moved sharply higher this year. At the end of last year, the 30-year fixed conforming mortgage rate was at 3.353 percent. By the end of March, it had moved up to 4.811 percent. As April came to an end, it was at 5.415 percent. As a result, the monthly payment a buyer would owe on a home purchased in April is hundreds of dollars higher than what it would have been at the start of the year. That may have pushed some would-be buyers out of the market.

What’s more, sixty-nine percent of Americans say the economy is bad, according to a recent poll from CBS News and YouGov. Combined with worries about a recession looming in the near future may also be discouraging some families from buying. High levels of inflation and falling real incomes have hurt consumer confidence.

New home sales are counted at signing, so the figures for April would reflect market conditions and consumer sentiment at the time. Existing home sales are counted at closing, which typically happens 30 to 60 days after the signing, making them a lagging indicator.

Housing starts are counted when construction begins on a project and tend to be a leading indicator for both real estate and the broader economy. Single family housing starts fell in three of the first four months of the year. In April, single-family starts were down fell to a rate of 1,087,000, 13.4 percent below the March rate.

The number of single-family homes available for sale has been on steep climb. In April, there were 444,0000 homes available for sale on a seasonally adjusted annualized basis. This represents a supply of nine months at the current sales rate, an indication that home builders have more than the typical supply of inventory. Around four to six months is normally considered a balanced, normal supply.

Supply chain constraints and a tight labor market are also holding back construction, leaving many homes unfinished. The inventory of new homes under construction is at 5.9 months, close to the record set in 1980. At 288,000, there are more homes under construction than any time since December 2006.

There are 118,000 homes for sale for which construction has not been started, the most ever, which is also reflective of supply constraints. This amounts to 2.4 months supply, almost double the normal level.

White House Warns of Global Food Shortages After Ukraine Invasion

The White House confirmed Monday they expect certain parts of the world to suffer a food shortage as an effect of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

“We do anticipate that higher energy fertilizer, wheat, and corn prices could impact the price of growing and purchasing critical food supplies for countries around the world,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday.

She said food shortages were not expected to hit the United States, but rather countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Reports have pointed out that both Ukraine and Russia produce a significant portion of the world’s wheat, corn, and barley as well as energy and fertilizer.

Despite Psaki’s assurance that the United States would not suffer a food shortage, the cost of fertilizer, grain, and fuel could have a significant impact on food prices.

Psaki said the White House could continue to work with global organizations to “do everything we can” to “mitigate” food shortages around the world.

“There are active discussions now,” she said, describing the Biden administration’s efforts to tackle the problem.”We’re certainly mindful that even if we’re not seeing an impact at this moment that sometimes supply chain impacts can have a lagging impact.”

“Joe Biden wants this crisis. He wants to reshape America in his image, he thinks that these are future voters for him,” he said. “He wants this crisis. They’re willing to take a political hit now to get more future Democrats across the border.”

Goldman Sachs to Joe Biden: Import Workers to Cut Wages by $100 Billion

President Joe Biden should cut roughly $100 billion from Americans’ wages in one year by importing 2.5 extra million foreign workers, says Wall Street’s leading investment firm, Goldman Sachs.

After President Donald Trump’s migration cuts, “the substantial gap between the number of workers and the number of jobs …  has led to wage growth of 5 1/2% over the last year,” the firm complained on May 23.

“We have estimated that the [worker] gap would need to close by around 2 ½ million [extra migrants] to return wage growth to the 4-4½% range,” the report concluded.

The longed-for cut of 1.25 percent in Americans’ wages would take $137 billion from voters’ pocketbooks, each year, in perpetuity, according to data provided by another Wall Street firm, Moody’s Analytics.

Moreover, Goldman’s focus is on stock values. Those stock values are based on Wall Street’s predictions of future profits over the next 20 years. So Goldman’s one-year migration surge and one-year wage cut of $100 billion could boost stock values by about $2 trillion.

The transfer of wealth from employees to investors accelerated after 1990 when a bipartisan bill doubled the inflow of migrants and created new white-collar visa-worker programs.

Since 1990, the value of the Dow Jones Index has grown tenfold, while median wages and salaries have remained flat. During the same period, the NASDAQ grew 14-fold, as blue-collar and white-collar workers were forced to share their labor market with millions of foreign workers extracted from poor countries.

However, Goldman admitted that Congress is very unlikely to pass another “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” wealth-transfer law: “Recent polling from Morning Consult suggests that among President Biden’s major executive actions over his first year in office, reversing the Trump Administration’s immigration restrictions are some of the least popular.”

Source: Goldman Sachs

Source: Goldman Sachs

Many polls show the unpopularity of Goldman’s high-migration/low-wages agenda.

But Goldman’s authors suggested that Washington could market the labor-supply changes as popular inflation-fighting measures:

Still, there are reasons to believe some liberalization of immigration policies could be politically beneficial. Inflation ranks as a higher priority than immigration among voters of all parties, with the greatest difference among Democrats.

And those stock-boosting changes could be established by Biden’s deputies, not Congress, Goldman reports:

While major changes might be too politically controversial, smaller changes—particularly around temporary work visas and potentially regarding green card recapture—might be in the realm of political reality.

But the Goldman report has some good news for investors and migrants from their allies in Biden’s pro-migrant agencies:

More recently, immigration has rebounded. Green card issuance to new arrivals has roughly returned to its pre-pandemic level, and temporary work visas have gotten close to normal levels in just the last few months.

Goldman’s report is a self-serving fix for the benefit of investors and CEOs, but not for the nation’s economic strength, Kevin Lynn, founder of U.S. Tech Workers told Breitbart News. He continued:

What it should show everyone is that corporate America is concerned about the next quarter and earnings per share. They’re not concerned about productivity. They’re not concerned about innovation. The CEOs are concerned about how they’re compensated and they’re compensated on maximizing profit. That’s not necessarily good for the corporation, and it’s not necessarily good for America.

And Americans know this. This is why [investors] have to sneak [migration] in through rules and regulation changes because these things are so unpopular. The average American knows that unbridled immigration harms them.

But Goldman’s immigration-as-inflation-cure theme is already commonplace among pro-migration writers and reporters.

Biden “has in plain sight several measures that would reduce inflation significantly, and yet appears hesitant to take them,” the Indian-born columnist Fareed Zakaria wrote on May 19 in the Washington Post, adding:

This is the time to reverse more of Trump’s restrictions on immigration, many done by executive action and hundreds of which are still in effect, which have caused severe worker shortages in industries such as farming, construction and health care.

RollCall.com reported on May 9:

As concerns about rising levels of migration to the southwest border dominate discussions on Capitol Hill, lawmakers and advocates are pointing to high inflation rates and critical labor shortages in a push for the Senate to take action soon on more narrow immigration bills that could boost the U.S. economy.

“Anyone that will report on what’s in the best interest of the wage-earning classes simply isn’t going to be long for the job,” said Lynn. The journalists with jobs “are following the narrative. … [so] there’s a distinct lack of critical thinking,” he added.

However, Biden put the kybosh on that plan in his 2022 State of the Union, saying:

We have a choice. One way to fight inflation is to drive down wages and make Americans poorer. I have a better plan to fight inflation. Lower your costs, not your wages. Make more cars and semiconductors in America. More infrastructure and innovation in America. More goods moving faster and cheaper in America. More jobs where you can earn a good living in America. And, instead of relying on foreign supply chains – let’s make it in America.

Overall, Biden has zig-zagged between isolated calls for a popular, wage-raising, tight labor market — “Rising wages aren’t a bug; they’re a feature” — and reckless invitations to migrants. That Biden welcome allowed his deputies to begin reinflating the post-1990s cheap-labor bubble with at least 1 million extra workers via the southern border in 2021.

Each year roughly 4 million young Americans enter the labor market in search of wages needed for their own homes and families.

But the federal government also imports roughly one million legal immigrants, and roughly one million temporary workers, and does little to return at least 11 million illegal migrants to their home countries.

Extraction Migration

Since at least 1990, the D.C. establishment has extracted tens of millions of migrants and visa workers from poor countries to serve as legal or illegal workers, temporary workers, consumers, and renters for various U.S. investors and CEOs.

This economic strategy of Extraction Migration has no stopping point. It is brutal to ordinary Americans because it cuts their career opportunities, shrinks their salaries and wagesraises their housing costs, and has shoved at least ten million American men out of the labor force.

Extraction migration also distorts the economy, damages professionals‘ clout, and curbs Americans’ productivity, partly because it allows employers to use stoop labor instead of machines.

Migration also reduces voters’ political clout, undermines employees’ workplace rights, and widens the regional wealth gaps between the Democrats’ big coastal states and the Republicans’  heartland and southern states.

An economy built on extraction migration also alienates young people and radicalizes Americans’ democratic, compromise-promoting civic culture because it allows wealthy elites to ignore despairing Americans at the bottom of society.

The economic policy is hidden behind a variety of high-minded narratives. These include the claim that the U.S. is a “Nation of Immigrants,” that Americans have a duty to accept foreign refugees, or that the government needs a different population. But the progressives’ colonialism-like economic strategy reduces overseas investmentkills many migrants, exploits poor people, and splits foreign families as it extracts human-resources wealth from the poor home countries.

The economic policy is backed by progressives who wish to transform the U.S. from a society governed by European-origin civic culture into a progressive-directed empire of feuding identity groups. “We’re trying to become the first multiracial, multi-ethnic superpower in the world,” Rep. Rohit Khanna (D-CA) told the New York Times on March 21. “It will be an extraordinary achievement … we will ultimately triumph,” he boasted.

Not surprisingly, the wealth-shifting extraction migration policy is very unpopular, according to a wide variety of polls. The polls show deep and broad public opposition to labor migration and the inflow of foreign contract workers into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates.

The opposition is growinganti-establishmentmultiracialcross-sexnon-racistclass-based,  bipartisanrationalpersistent, and recognizes the solidarity that Americans owe to one another.

"This is country belongs to Mexico" is said by the Mexican Militant. This is a common teaching that the U.S. is really AZTLAN, belonging to Mexicans, which is taught to Mexican kids in Arizona and California through a LA Raza educational program funded by American Tax Payers via President Obama, when he gave LA RAZA $800,000.00 in March of 2009!

Under Holder’s watch at the DOJ Civil Rights Division, more than half of all the lawyers hired were chosen from four radical, anti-American organizations: the ACLU, National Council of La Raza, NAACP, Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, and the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights, John Fund and Hans von Spakovsky outlined in their 2014 book, “Obama’s Enforcer: Eric Holder’s Justice Department.”

Additionally, the Justice Department under Holder, and now Loretta Lynch, has one of the worst records before the U.S. Supreme Court, losing significantly more cases than either of the Bush or Clinton Departments of Justice. “In most administrations, the department wins about 70 percent of the cases before the Supreme Court; Mr. Holder’s department has a losing record and has lost at least nine cases 9-0–even with Obama appointees Elena Kagen and Sonia Sotomayor on the court,” wrote Jared Taylor of American Renaissance, in a review of “Obama’s Enforcer: Eric Holder’s Justice Department.”

Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a records request with the California Legislature Joint Rules Committee seeking to examine legislative records regarding the state’s employment of former Obama U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr.  The record request includes:

All contracts between the California Legislature and former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. or Covington and Burling.

All communications between the California Legislature and former U. S. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. or Covington and Burling about the Legislature’s retention of Holder and/or Covington and Burling.

Judicial Watch’s records request is designed to expose how California state legislators are wasting tax dollars to take care of another corrupt politician – Eric Holder – under the guise of resisting the rule of law on immigration and other matters,” stated Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton.  “His record at the Clinton and Obama Justice Departments demonstrates a willingness to bend the law in order to protect his political patrons.

Judge Christopher Cooper is not only an Obama appointee but his wife was Eric Holder's counselor on national security. AG Merrick Garland officiated at their wedding. She was also one of the five FISA amici curae.

Was there ever any other possible outcome?

NOPE!

The Clinton and Biden families were allowed to use their powerful government positions to solicit massive kickbacks for themselves and their families from foreign sources, and they were and are above the law.

Any attorney general who is not an activist is not doing his or her job.

Eric Holder

In Part One of this series, we exposed the Chicano Marxist take over of the California legislature and their plans to defy federal immigration laws and expected actions of the incoming Trump administration. Gov. Jerry Brown’s nomination of  Xavier Becerra to be California’s next Attorney General was the first of many steps to protect the pervasive lawlessness of the radical left. Becerra has already taken an aggressive and combative stance against President-elect Donald Trump, vowing to fight Trump’s efforts to enforce immigration laws, and even block attempts to deport criminal illegal aliens. Trump’s campaign centered on building a wall along the United States border with Mexico to keep out illegal immigrants, violent gangs, and terrorists posing as immigrants.

Xavier Becerra, currently a 12-year member of Congress, is an admitted member of MEChA, or “Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan,” often likened to a Latino KKK.

Becerra has publicly defended MEChA, even though the Chicano supremacist group evangelizes discrimination against non-Hispanics and calls for the killing of Border Patrol “pigs.” MEChA’s rallying cry is: “For the race, everything; For those outside the race, nothing.

Becerra’s Radical Plans

Recently, the State Assembly Committee on the Office of the Attorney General asked nominee Becerra to detail his plans on the issues of immigration, civil rights, the environment, policing and consumer protection – apparently the only issues the California Legislature is interested in Becerra defending.

In a letter released Saturday, Becerra praised California’s policies helping illegal aliens get driver’s licenses, free college tuition, and free lawyers to represent them in deportation cases, calling it “national leadership.”

“All of these policies and programs are representative of California’s values as a welcoming state,” Becerra wrote to the Assembly committee.

Becerra also took a shot at Trump for proposing to create a registry of Muslim immigrants during the campaign.”Disturbing statements uttered during the recent Presidential campaign have given rise to legitimate fears that the new federal administration might seek to adopt policies that would discriminate against people based on factors such as their religious belief,” Becerra wrote. “Any such policies would be antithetical to the deepest constitutional values and traditions of this nation — a nation founded in part by men and women fleeing religious persecution.”

“I have no intention of allowing this policy through the doors of California,” he wrote.

Like a good progressive foot soldier, Becerra also vowed to fight for abortion, calling it “reproductive freedom.”

Becerra said he will support California’s recent legislation expanding voter registration and participation in elections. He might want to look into the 650,000 newly registered California voters, registered online only weeks before the election. According to the Los Angeles Times, “98% of all the growth in California’s voter ranks in 2016 happened in just the last 45 days of the registration season.”

As Attorney General, Becerra has vowed to continue enforcing policies to combat climate change and work to “transition Californians to a low-carbon way of life.” Becerra added that a part of environmental protections is safe drinking water and vowed to “pursue the goal of providing safe drinking water to all Californians.” Perhaps Becerra can begin by supporting the safe drinking water bills that Assemblyman Devon Mathis has tried to get passed over the last two years?  In Mathis’ district, wells began going dry in East Porterville more than three years ago, with more continuing to dry up every day.

Assemblyman Devon Mathis, R-Porterville, authored the bills to provide $10 million to homeowners (not farmers) to dig deeper wells and clean contaminated ones.

Both bills passed through the Assembly and a state Senate committee without opposition, only to have Senate Appropriations Chairman Ricardo Lara, D-Los Angeles and Mecha activist, put both bills on suspense– one after the other, killing them and depriving 10,000+ low-income individuals access to running water. Sen. Lara was playing politics with this Republican bill, despite the 10,000 poor people who need the clean water.

Sanctuary Cities

California, through its 35 Sanctuary Cities, is clearly violating U.S. Federal Immigration law. Recently, Democrat members of the State Legislature proposed two bills: SB 6 by Sen. Ben Hueso, to create a state program to fund legal representation for illegal aliens facing deportation, and AB 3 by Assemblyman Rob Bonta to create taxpayer-funded training for defense attorneys and public defenders on immigration law for illegal aliens.

And now California is going to try to prevent the new Presidential administration from enforcing federal immigration law despite the fact that the Constitution clearly imposes a duty on the president and the executive branch, to enforce the law.

Hiring Eric Holder… for what?

Democrats in the California State Legislature apparently decided Becerra isn’t enough legal muscle, and recently hired former Obama Attorney General Eric Holder to fight a “clear and present danger” from President-elect Trump… the same former Attorney General Eric Holder who was once blasted for helping to trigger a “war” on police and called America  “a nation of cowards” on the issue of race. However, he now says he sees his “younger” self in Black Lives Matter activists… this is who California hired to assist California’s top law enforcement officer?

Since Trump — who is not referring to himself as “The Office of President-Elect,” as his predecessor did — has not yet taken office, nor any official actions, it is hard to see specifically for what purpose Holder has been hired.

There certainly is poetic justice in hiring the failed Attorney General of the failed Obama Administration to defend the failed and deteriorating policies of the Jerry Brown administration and radical Democrats running the state.

Described as a “devious, power-hungry, racial zealot,” Eric Holder is also a dubious choice since he is the only U.S. Attorney General in history to be held in contempt of Congress, when he refused to turn over Operation Fast and Furious documents to Congress. One of the most reckless law enforcement operations ever conducted by the Justice Department, it involved selling guns to Mexican drug cartels, and resulted in the death of a U.S. border patrol agent, Brian Terry, as well as hundreds of Mexican citizens.

The hiring of Eric Holder by the California Legislature confirms a lack of confidence in Xavier Becerra by Gov. Brown and Democrats in the Legislature–which must be quite humiliating for Becerra, especially after his promise to uphold California’s “progressive” policies on immigration, Obamacare, energy, and criminal justice. “If you want to take on a forward-leaning state that is prepared to defend its rights and interests, then come at us,” Becerra said, directing his comment to Trump.  Choosing Holder also reiterates the anti-American, anti-Constitution, anti-religion movement of Marxists in America, but particularly in California. The biggest obstacle standing between Marxism and Marxist domination of the world is America, and the U.S. Constitution. And standing between a Marxist takeover of America is California – only when California is destroyed can Marxists proceed.

Democrats bet the future of their party on his assurances...and now he tells them they've blown it

By Thomas Lifson

There is a good argument to be made that the most influential figure in the Democrat party for the last three decades is political scientist named Ruy Teixeira.  Teixeira co-authored a 2002 book, The Emerging Democrat Majority, that told Democrats that the demographic rise of Hispanics and the decline of whites (as if many Hispanics were not Caucasian) all but guaranteed one-party power.  Because his co-author was a DAWM — a Dreaded Anglo White Male, Teixeira got most of the attention and power out of the prognostication, because, after all, white males are out of favor with the Dems.

More than anything else, this dream of political power on the backs of Hispanic immigrants — and illegal aliens — is responsible for the open borders that characterize this country right now, and whenever a Democrat is in the White House.

But it turns out — much to the shock and dismay of Democrats — that people who speak Spanish have brains that function, and human agency — the ability to make up their own minds and act on the basis of conclusions they reach.  This sort of behavior may be frowned on by the Democrats, whose party chief after all declared, "You ain't black" if you don't vote for him.  But it turns out that Hispanics refuse to fall in line with Democrats' prescription of mindlessness.

Fuzzy Slippers of Legal Insurrection draws our attention to Teixeira's warning to the Dems that Hispanics are not behaving as he predicted, and as his party bet they would:

Ruy Teixeira, the political scientist behind the much-lauded (and much-maligned) leftist mantra that "demographics is destiny," has some bad news for today's Democrats: not only do they still need white, particularly working class, voters, but their radical leftist socio-cultural and economic agenda is turning off too many Latino and Hispanic voters for their 'demographic destiny' to manifest. (snip)

Teixeira has watched it all, and he's been watching voting trends among the demographics the Democrats believe they own (after all, if you don't vote for Biden, you ain't black, right?). This casual racism is one of the problems that Teixeira is now pointing out as problematic for the Democrat party and its (dashed) dream of an emerging demographic-based Democratic majority.

Teixeira writes at his substack:

The latest data release from the 2020 Census, which will be used to guide decennial redistricting, has been greeted rather breathlessly by the nation's media and has been absolute catnip for commentators and observers who lean toward the Democrats. Consider some of these headlines:

"America's White Population Shrank for the First Time";

"Vast Stretches of America Are Shrinking. Almost All of Them Voted for Trump".

"Census release shows America is more diverse and more multiracial than ever"

None of this is necessarily wrong, though it's worth noting that these findings are consistent with trends of long-standing rather than something qualitatively new. What is questionable however is the political gloss that tends to put on these results. Leftist filmmaker Michael Moore called the announcement "the best day ever in US history", which, while over the top, fairly represents the delight among most progressives that a presumably conservative white population is in precipitous decline while a presumably liberal nonwhite population keeps growing, the harbinger of a diverse, progressive future America. (snip)

As the Census documents, the biggest single driver of the increased nonwhite population is the growth of the Hispanic population. They are by far the largest group within the Census-designated nonwhite population (19 percent vs. 12 percent for blacks). While their representation among voters considerably lags their representation in the overall population, it is fair to say that voting trends among this group will decisively shape voting trends among nonwhites in the future since their share of voters will continue to increase while black voter share is expected to remain roughly constant.

And these Hispanic voting trends have not been favorable for the Democrats. According to Catalist, in 2020 Latinos had an amazingly large 16 point margin shift toward Trump. Among Latinos, Cubans did have the largest shifts toward Trump (26 points), but those of Mexican origin also had a 12 point shift and even Puerto Ricans moved toward Trump by 18 points. Moreover, Latino shifts toward Trump were widely dispersed geographically. Hispanic shifts toward Trump were not confined to Florida (28 points) and Texas (18 points) but also included states like Nevada (16 points), Pennsylvania (12 points), Arizona (10 points) and Georgia (8 points).

These reduced margins are why, despite Hispanics' increased vote share in 2020, their contribution to Democrats' improved national margin in this election was actually negative — that is, they made a negative one point contribution to Biden's vote margin relative to Clinton's in 2016. The same pattern can be seen in key swing states.

The real, underlying problem is that people who speak Spanish as their native language want the opportunities for personal advancement that hard work and persistence bring in a free society.  Moreover, just like Italian immigrants of a century or more ago, who were regarded as "nonwhite" and perpetual Democrats, Hispanic people rise in status and accomplishment after immigrating.  Even worse (from the Democrats' standpoint), they tend to be socially conservative, value family, and do not want to be addressed as "Latinx."  They, in fact, resent many of the demands of P.C. culture.

Today, Hispanic voters in California are believed to hold the key to the future of Governor Gavin Newsom, who faces a recall election.  His lockdowns did not hurt people who work from home via computer, but they did hurt people who work with their hands, in many cases.  The social agenda of the California Democrats, with transgender concerns high on the list, does not hold a lot of appeal, either.

Donald Trump did a tremendous job making inroads on the Hispanic vote (the black vote as well, albeit less so).  Now that the author of the strategy is alerting Dems of their folly, will they retreat?

Not bloody likely.  They're not going to close the border.  They are not going to tell AOC to sit down and shut up.  Too many people have an interest in keeping on keeping on with the Hispanic strategy.

The GOP needs to press home the Democrats' extreme social agenda, their commitment to lockdowns, and their elitism, especially the default of letting radical teachers' unions convert schools into indoctrination centers.

As for Teixeira, he could take his motto from Animal House:

THEN VOTE DEMOCRAT! ILLEGALS ARE!

ZOGY POLL ON MEX RACISM AND VIOLENCE….. Half the murders in CA are by Mex gangs, and 93% of murders in La Raza-Occupied Los Angeles are by

“In Mexico, a recent Zogby poll declared that the vast majority of Mexican citizens hate Americans. [22.2] Mexico is a country saturated with racism, yet in denial, having never endured the social development of a Civil Rights movement like in the US--Blacks are harshly treated while foreign Whites are often seen as the enemy. [22.3] In fact, racism as workplace discrimination can be seen across the US anywhere the illegal alien Latino works--the vast majority of the workforce is usually strictly Latino, excluding Blacks, Whites, Asians, and others.”

Previous generations of immigrants did not believe they were racially superior to Americans. That is the view of La Raza Cosmica, by Jose Vasconcelos, Mexico’s former education minister and a presidential candidate. The superior new “cosmic” race of Spaniards and Indians is replacing them, and all Yankee “Anglos.” LLOYD BILLINGSLEY/ FRONTPAGE mag

The problem, according to Muñoz, was “a broken system of laws, and the answer to that problem is reforming the law.” In the meantime, “even broken laws have to be enforced.” Therefore, parents who broke the law would be separated from their children.

As Muñoz confirmed, agents of the federal government were separating parents from their families long before the people elected Donald Trump president of the United States, but there’s more to it. As Muñoz explained, reentering the USA after deportation is a felony, and it is customary to separate convicted felons from their children. For example, when Illinois governor Rod Blagoyevich broke the law and went to prison, his children Amy and Anne didn’t go to prison with him.

Joe Biden is calling “garbage” the Wall Street Journal report that his DOJ wants to pay $450,000 to every illegal separated from their family under the Trump administration. Back in 2011, under the composite character David Garrow described in Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama, a different sort of payout was going on.

Before her White House gig, Cecilia Muñoz was vice president of the National Council of La Raza. Two of her La Raza colleagues, Juan Sanchez and Anselmo Villareal, established Southwest Key, a charitable organization with a difference. Under Obama, Southwest Key took in roughly $1 billion in federal contracts, including some $500 million for housing illegal immigrant children.

According to CNN, Juan Sanchez was bagging $1.47 million a year, “which makes him one of the highest paid charity CEOs in the country.” Southwest Key housed males ages 10-17 at a massive former Walmart in Brownsville, Texas, and also housed illegals in Arizona and California. In 2018, KXAN of Austin reported that Southwest Key had received $995 million in federal funds since 2015. For the NCLR comrades of Cecilia Muñoz, housing illegals separated from their families is a lucrative trade. Under the Biden Junta, the big money is all in transport.

Joe Biden is on record that illegals are “already Americans,” and under Alejandro Mayorkas, the Biden Department of Homeland Security is effectively the Department of Human Trafficking. John Fonte of the Hudson Institute makes a strong case that “operational control of the border is no longer in American hands,” and under the control of Mexican cartels. These are criminal organizations but behind the scenes, a more powerful dynamic is in play.

The National Council of La Raza got its name from La Raza Cósmica (The Cosmic Race), by Mexican education minister and presidential candidate Jose Vasconcelos. During World War II, Vasconcelos served as a Nazi propagandist, editor of the pro-Axis Timon magazine. As Vasconcelos, prophecied, the Ibero-American race is destined to replace all others.

Slated to fade away is the Black race, “eager for sensual joy, intoxicated with dances and unbridled lust.” Indians are an “inferior species” and the “Mongol” with his slanted eyes, “lacks the necessary boldness for new enterprises.” These too will pass away, along with the yankee “Anglos.” As the cosmic racist explains, the descendants of the English, Dutch and Scandinavians are “slow, almost dull, compared with the mestizo children from the south.” And so on.

As Mexican-American Communist Bert Corona recognized, this was the same brand of superior race theory supported by Hitler. Even so, in 1979, the Chicano Studies department at Cal State Los Angeles republished La Raza Cósmica, the core curriculum of Chicano Studies, now folded into “ethnic studies” for K-12 and a prime exhibit of institutional racism. In 2017, the National Council of La Raza conveniently changed its name to UnidosUS, but under Joe Biden the razaistas are now in full triumphal mode.

The Biden Junta has effectively eliminated the border and the massive caravans are marching north. Mayorkas tells Congress the border is “closed,” as he works three shifts to bring in illegals and ship them around the country. Here the Biden Junta has an example to follow.

During the Nazi-Soviet pact of 1939-1941, Stalin invaded the Baltic states and moved in Russian nationals to help lock down the conquest. In similar style, the razaistas believe they have won and are moving in their people, with full collaboration from the Biden Junta.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the $450,000 payments to illegals are “per person,” close to $1 million per family, and the total payout could amount to $1 billion. Under this boondoggle, violators of U.S. immigration law could receive more than families of Americans killed in action with the U.S. military.

A ballpark figure for the amount given to legal immigrants is zero. Razaista rule is “America last” on full display.

'Diversity,’ Illegal Immigration and

Destroying America

By Frank Gaffney, Jr.

Center for Securi

Now that official Washington’s political oxygen is being consumed by the latest school shooting, it’s easy to forget abiding disagreements about immigration policy. Yet, until supplanted by the current children’s crusade for gun control, it was the so-called “DACA kids” who had to be accommodated with a massive amnesty.

Just as we seem determined to ignore factors in mass murders like the pop culture’s role in inculcating a lust for violence – the more, the better, what passes for debate about illegal aliens is increasingly unmoored from any discussion of their impact on American society.

It’s time to reprise a 2003 warning by Democratic former Colorado governor Dick Lamm about a “secret plan” that is destroying our country through the combined effects of unchecked immigration, the “diversity” agenda and abandoning our national principle of “out of many, one.” This lunacy must end.

The goal of the Obama administration, working with the Republicans and local governments, is to roll back the living conditions of the vast majority of the population to levels not seen since the 19th century, prior to the advent of the eight-hour day, child labor laws, comprehensive public education, pensions, health benefits, workplace health and safety regulations, etc.

In response to the ruthless assault of the financial oligarchy, spearheaded by Obama, the working class must advance, no less ruthlessly, its own policy.

These new authoritarian orders are not Constitutional and we are asking all of our supporters to be ready for emergency measures in defense of the American Republic in the coming weeks. This unlawful AMNESTY for ILLEGAL ALIENS will not stand!

White House loosens border rules for 2012 elections

President Barack Obama’s administration is quietly offering a quasi-amnesty for hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants aiming to win reelection by mobilizing a wave of new Hispanic voters without alienating the populous at large, say supporters of stronger immigration law enforcement.

“We think it is an excellent step,” said Laura Vasquez, at the Hispanic-advocacy group, La Raza, which pushed for the policies, and which is working with other groups to register Hispanics to vote in 2012. “What’s very important is how the prosecutorial discretion memo is implemented” on the streets, she said.

LaRaza Calls For Boycott Against Free Speech

No surprise here. Pulling the race/hate card again and using political correctness La Raza goes after cable shows reporting on illegal immigration.

"Murguía said she recognized that ultimately the power to change the debate lies with the Hispanic community itself. “Latinos buy products from the advertisers supporting these programs,” she said. “Latinos vote in primaries and in the general election. We have a significant role to play picking winners and losers in both arenas. We need to make it clear to those who embrace hate that they do so at their own economic and political peril.”

In California, League of United Latin American Citizens has adopted a resolution to declare "California Del Norte" a sanctuary zone for immigrants. The declaration urges the Mexican government to invoke its rights under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo "to seek third nation neutral arbitration of disputes concerning immigration laws and their enforcement." We’ll have the story.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT JOE BIDEN'S PRESIDENTIAL TRANSITION TEAM INCLUDED FORMER LA RAZA V.P. CECEILA MUNOZ WHO WAS FUNDED AND WORKED IN THE OBAMA WHITE HOUSE.

IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THAT FORMER A.G. OF MEXIFORNIA, NOW WITH THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION, IS LONG ASSOCIATED WITH LA RAZA AND THE MEX FASCIST SEPARATIST MOVEMENT OF M.E.Ch.A. (see below)

BARACK OBAMA, JOE BIDEN and ERIC HOLDER’S SABOTAGE OF HOMELAND SECURITY: The “zero tolerance” program was dismantled by Attorney General Erc Holder once it had successfully cut the transit of migrants by roughly 95 percent. Initially, officials made 140,000 arrests per year in the mid-2000s, but the northward flow dropped so much that officials only had to make 6,000 arrests in 2013, according to a 2014 letter by two pro-migration Senators, Sen. Jeff Flake and John McCain. NEIL MUNRO

It’s time to reprise a 2003 warning by Democratic former Colorado governor Dick Lamm about a “secret plan” that is destroying our country through the combined effects of unchecked immigration, the “diversity” agenda and abandoning our national principle of “out of many, one.” This lunacy must end.

FIFTEEN THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

ABOUT LA RAZA “THE RACE”

by Michelle Malkin

Only in America could critics of a group called "The Race" be labeled racists. Such is the triumph of left-wing identity chauvinists, whose aggressive activists and supine abettors have succeeded in redefining all opposition as "hate."

Both Barack Obama and John McCain will speak this week in San Diego at the annual conference of the National Council of La Raza, the Latino organization whose name is Spanish for, yes, "The Race." Can you imagine Obama and McCain paying homage to a group of white people who called themselves that? No matter. The presidential candidates and the media have legitimized "The Race" as a mainstream ethnic lobbying group and marginalized its critics as intolerant bigots. The unvarnished truth is that the group is a radical ethnic nationalist outfit that abuses your tax dollars and milks PC politics to undermine our sovereignty.

Here are 15 things you should know about "The Race":

15. "The Race" supports driver's licenses for illegal aliens.

14."The Race" demands in-state tuition discounts for illegal alien students that are not available to law-abiding U.S. citizens and law-abiding legal immigrants.

13. "The Race" vehemently opposes cooperative immigration enforcement efforts between local, state and federal authorities.

12. "The Race" opposes a secure fence on the southern border.

11. "The Race" joined the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee in a failed lawsuit attempt to prevent the feds from entering immigration information into a key national crime database -- and to prevent local police officers from accessing the data.

10. "The Race" opposed the state of Oklahoma's tough immigration-enforcement-first laws, which cut off welfare to illegal aliens, put teeth in employer sanctions and strengthened local-federal cooperation and information sharing.

9. "The Race" joined other open-borders, anti-assimilationists and sued to prevent Proposition 227, California's bilingual education reform ballot initiative, from becoming law.

8. "The Race" bitterly protested common-sense voter ID provisions as an "absolute disgrace."

7. "The Race" has consistently opposed post-9/11 national security measures at every turn.

6. Former "Race" president Raul Yzaguirre, Hillary Clinton's Hispanic outreach adviser, said this: "U.S. English is to Hispanics as the Ku Klux Klan is to blacks." He was referring to U.S. English, the nation's oldest, largest citizens' action group dedicated to preserving the unifying role of the English language in the United States. "The Race" also pioneered Orwellian open-borders Newspeak and advised the Mexican government on how to lobby for illegal alien amnesty while avoiding the terms "illegal" and "amnesty."

5. "The Race" gives mainstream cover to a poisonous subset of ideological satellites, led by Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA). The late GOP Rep. Charlie Norwood rightly characterized the organization as "a radical racist group … one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues its push to carve a racist nation out of the American West."

4. "The Race" is currently leading a smear campaign against staunch immigration enforcement leaders and has called for TV and cable news networks to keep immigration enforcement proponents off the airwaves -- in addition to pushing for Fairness Doctrine policies to shut up their foes. The New York Times reported that current "Race" president Janet Murguia believes "hate speech" should "not be tolerated, even if such censorship were a violation of First Amendment rights."

3. "The Race" sponsors militant ethnic nationalist charter schools subsidized by your public tax dollars (at least $8 million in federal education grants). The schools include Aztlan Academy in Tucson, Ariz., the Mexicayotl Academy in Nogales, Ariz., Academia Cesar Chavez Charter School in St. Paul, Minn., and La Academia Semillas del Pueblo in Los Angeles, whose principal inveighed: "We don't want to drink from a White water fountain, we have our own wells and our natural reservoirs and our way of collecting rain in our aqueducts. We don't need a White water fountain … ultimately the White way, the American way, the neo liberal, capitalist way of life will eventually lead to our own destruction."

2. "The Race" has perfected the art of the PC shakedown at taxpayer expense, pushing relentlessly to lower home loan standards for Hispanic borrowers, reaping millions in federal "mortgage counseling" grants, seeking special multimillion-dollar earmarks and partnering with banks that do business with illegal aliens.

1. "The Race" thrives on ethnic supremacy -- and the elite sheeple's unwillingness to call it what it is. As historian Victor Davis Hanson observes: "[The] organization's very nomenclature 'The National Council of La Raza' is hate speech to the core. Despite all the contortions of the group, Raza (as its Latin cognate suggests) reflects the meaning of 'race' in Spanish, not 'the people' -- and that's precisely why we don't hear of something like 'The National Council of the People,' which would not confer the buzz notion of ethnic, racial and tribal chauvinism."

The fringe is the center. The center is the fringe. Viva La Raza.

OBAMA APPOINTED Judge whose sister heads La Raza rules 130-year la against encouraging illegal immigrants is unconstitutional

https://www.conservativereview.com/news/judge-whose-sister-heads-la-raza-rules-130-year-law-encouraging-illegal-immigrants-unconstitutional/

Daniel Horowitz ·

Imagine if Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or Rashida Tlaib got to single-handedly veto sovereignty legislation dating back to the 1880s just like a president could veto a new bill passed by Congress this session. Imagine if they could unilaterally abolish ICE and declare open borders, except, unlike a president, they wouldn’t have to stand for re-election. Well, that is exactly the situation this week with a single federal judge. Thanks to Republicans agreeing to the notion that judges – even lower court judges – have direct veto power over legislation, a foundational immigration law has just been “vetoed.”

KCUR-FM reports that on Wednesday, Judge Carlos Murguia of the U.S. District Court of Kansas ruled, based on a Ninth Circuit opinion, that 8 U.S.C. §1324, the law prohibiting someone from “encouraging” or “inducing” illegal immigration, is an unconstitutional infringement upon the First Amendment. In doing so, Murguia vacated the convictions of two illegal aliens, Jose Felipe Hernandez-Calvillo and Mauro Papalotzi, who were convicted in August 2018 by a jury for conspiring to encourage illegal aliens to remain here through employment at a drywall company in Lawrence, Kansas. Four others were originally indicted by a grand jury in 2015.

This law has been on the books in some form for over 130 years, and numerous federal courts have upheld convictions based on §1324. Yet one judge, who worked for an open-borders group named El Centro Inc. and whose sister Janet Murguia is president of La Raza (now called UnidosUS), suddenly thinks conspiring to harbor and encourage illegal immigration violates the First Amendment. Carlos’ sister Mary (who is an identical twin to Janet) is a federal judge on the very Ninth Circuit Court from which he drew this opinion. Judge Mary Murguia once recused herself from a trial involving pro-enforcement Sheriff Joe Arpaio because of her sister’s leadership of La Raza. Carlos should have done the same thing this week in this case, which involves a law that directly conflicts with the work with the open-borders groups his family is associated with.

Rather than rule based on the law, he decided to adopt the ruling of the Ninth Circuit (which doesn’t have jurisdiction in Kansas), which ruled last December that §1324 is “unconstitutionally overbroad” because it “criminalizes a substantial amount of protected expression.” “The court adopts (the 9th Circuit’s) analysis in full and agrees that (the law) on its face is overbroad under the First Amendment,” said Murguia in a brief bench ruling first reported by KCUR-FM.

This assertion is ridiculous, because the law clearly refers to engaging in subversive and fraudulent activities to encourage or enable actual individual aliens to remain in the country, not mere political advocacy for liberal immigration policies in the abstract. It’s like saying that someone who hates high taxes or gun control laws and advocates against them is the same as a person who actively assists tax cheats and gun felons in achieving the end goal of the criminalized behavior.

The 1952 INA (8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)) calls for felony prosecution for anyone who “encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law.” Subsection (V)(I) prohibits “any conspiracy to commit any of the preceding acts.” The two defendants in this case were convicted on both counts. This law passed the Senate unanimously!

The forerunners to this law were the Contract Labor Law of 1885 and the 1891 Immigration Act. The 1885 law made it unlawful to “in any way assist or encourage the importation or migration of any alien” for the purpose of contract labor. Section 3 of the 1891 Immigration Act made it a felony to “assist or encourage the importation or migration of any alien by promise of employment” through advertisements.

Other circuits have long recognized this law as completely legitimate. “Harboring, within the meaning of §1324, encompasses conduct tending substantially to facilitate an alien’s remaining in the United States illegally and to prevent government authorities from detecting his unlawful presence,” wrote the Second Circuit in 1999. “Such facilitation may be attempted through a wide range of conduct.” (United States v. Kim, 193 F.3d 567, 574 (2d Cir. 1999).) The Fifth Circuit has ruled that Congress intended for §1324 to “broadly proscribe any knowing or willful conduct fairly within any of these terms that tends to substantially facilitate an alien’s remaining in the U.S. illegally.”

So how could a single judge who has a family history of open-borders activism be allowed to veto such long-standing and universal laws? The answer is that he has no such power other than what the other branches are willing to cede him.

The concern here is that this will not only protect employers who knowingly help illegal aliens get around our immigration laws, but it will also essentially legalize sanctuary cities. Throughout the county, sanctuary cities are taking active steps to thwart immigration law. We would never tolerate this for other federal laws concerning American criminals. Why should illegal aliens have special privileges?

Rather than shirking from §1324 prosecutions, Trump’s DOJ should aggressively go after sanctuary cities, especially in areas where there are saner federal judges. A judge has no power to “strike down” or veto statutes he or she believes are overly broad. If there is a case that concerns pure speech or advocacy without any conspiracy or action taken to encourage illegal immigration, then it is within the prerogative of a judge not to convict the person. That is judicial power. But judges have no ability to say that the statute can’t be applied even when an action is involved because, in their view, the text of the law might rope in speech in other cases. To believe otherwise is to concoct an entirely new level of judicial veto that our Founders explicitly rejected. This is the difference between judicial review and judicial supremacy.

Finally, it’s important to remember that this is yet another example of judges attempting to fully nullify long-standing immigration law. Some on the Right believe that Congress needs to pass new laws in order to end illegal immigration. It’s simply not true. We don’t have a law problem; we have a judicial supremacy problem. The only question is whether the other branches will give this fake power full effect.

ALIEN NATION: Secrets of the Invasion

Why America's government invites rampant illegal immigration

It's widely regarded as America's biggest problem: Between 12 and 20 million aliens (MOST SOURCES SUGGEST THERE ARE MUCH MORE LIKELY NEARLY 40 MILLION ILLEGALS HERE NOW) – including large numbers of criminals, gang members and even terrorists – have entered this nation illegally, with countless more streaming across our scandalously unguarded borders daily.

The issue polarizes the nation, robs citizens of jobs, bleeds taxpayers, threatens America's national security and dangerously balkanizes the country into unassimilated ethnic groups with little loyalty or love for America's founding values. Indeed, the de facto invasion is rapidly transforming America into a totally different country than the one past generations have known and loved.

And yet – most Americans have almost no idea what is really going on, or why it is happening.

While news reports depict demonstrations and debates, and while politicians promise "comprehensive border security programs," no real answers ever seem to emerge.

But there are answers. Truthful answers. Shocking answers.

In its groundbreaking May edition, WND's acclaimed monthly Whistleblower magazine reveals the astounding hidden agendas, plans and people behind America's immigration nightmare.

Titled "ALIEN NATION," the issue is subtitled "SECRETS OF THE INVASION: Why government invites rampant illegal immigration." Indeed, it reveals pivotal secrets very few Americans know. For example:

Did you know that the powerfully influential Council on Foreign Relations – often described as a “shadow government" – issued a comprehensive report last year laying out a five-year plan for the "establishment by 2010 of a North American economic and security community" with a common "outer security perimeter"?

Roughly translated: In the next few years, according to the 59-page report titled "Building a North American Community," the U.S. must be integrated with the socialism, corruption, poverty and population of Mexico and Canada. "Common perimeter" means wide-open U.S. borders between the U.S., Mexico and Canada. As Phyllis Schlafly reveals in this issue of Whistleblower: "This CFR document asserts that President Bush, Mexican President Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin 'committed their governments' to this goal when they met at Bush's ranch and at Waco, Texas, on March 23, 2005. The three adopted the 'Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America' and assigned 'working groups' to fill in the details. It was at this same meeting, grandly called the North American Summit, that President Bush pinned the epithet 'vigilantes' on the volunteers guarding our border in Arizona."

The CFR report – important excerpts of which are published in Whistleblower – also suggests North American elitists begin getting together regularly, and presumably secretly, "to buttress North American relationships, along the lines of the Bilderberg or Wehrkunde conferences, organized to support transatlantic relations." The Bilderberg and Wehrkunde conferences are highly secret conclaves of the powerful. For decades, there have been suspicions that such meetings were used for plotting the course of world events and especially the centralization of global decision-making.

Did you know that radical immigrant groups – including the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA) and the National Council of La Raza (La Raza) – not only share a revolutionary agenda of conquering America's southwest, but they also share common funding sources, notably the Ford and Rockefeller foundations?

''California is going to be a Hispanic state," said Mario Obeldo, former head of MALDEF. "Anyone who does not like it should leave." And MEChA's goal is even more radical: an independent ''Aztlan,'' the collective name this organization gives to the seven states of the U.S. Southwest – Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Utah. So why would the Rockefeller and Ford foundations support such groups? Joseph Farah tells the story in this issue of Whistleblower.

Why have America's politicians – of both major parties – allowed the illegal alien invasion of this nation to continue for the last 30 years unabated? With al-Qaida and allied terrorists promising to annihilate major U.S. cities with nuclear weapons, with some big-city hospital emergency rooms near closure due to the crush of so many illegals, with the rapid spread throughout the U.S. of MS-13, the super-violent illegal alien gang – with all this and more, why do U.S. officials choose to ignore the laws of the land and the will of the people to pursue, instead, policies of open borders and lax immigration enforcement?

The answers to all this and much more are in Whistleblower's "ALIEN NATION" issue.

Is there hope? Or is America lost to a demographic invasion destined to annihilate its traditional Judeo-Christian culture, and to the ever-growing likelihood that nuclear-armed jihadists will cross our porous borders and wreak unthinkable destruction here?

There most definitely is hope, according to this issue of Whistleblower. Although most politicians of both major political parties have long since abdicated their responsibility for securing America's borders and dealing effectively with the millions already here illegally, there are a few exceptions – most notably Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo.

May's Whistleblower includes an exclusive sneak preview of Tancredo's forthcoming blockbuster book, "In Mortal Danger: The Battle for America’s Border and Security." In an extended excerpt, Whistleblower presents Tencredo's expert and inspired analysis of exactly how to solve the nation's most vexing problem.

THE AZTLAN INVASION & THE LA RAZA FASCIST PARTY FOR MEXICAN SUPREMACY

“The radicals seek nothing less than secession from the United States whether to form their own sovereign state or to reunify with Mexico. Those who desire reunification with Mexico are irredentists who seek to reclaim Mexico's "lost" territories in the American Southwest.”

MULTICULTURALISM, IMMIGRATION AND AZTLAN

By Maria Hsia Chang Professor of Political Science, University of Nevada Reno

One of the standard arguments invoked by those in favor of massive immigration into the United States is that our country is founded on immigrants who have always been successfully assimilated into America's mainstream culture and society. As one commentator put it, "Assimilation evokes the misty past of Ellis Island, through which millions entered, eventually seeing their descendants become as American as George Washington."1 Nothing more vividly testifies against that romantic faith in America's ability to continuously assimilate new members than the events of October 16, 1994 in Los Angeles. On that day, 70,000 people marched beneath "a sea of Mexican flags" protesting Proposition 187, a referendum measure that would deny many state benefits to illegal immigrants and their children. Two weeks later, more protestors marched down the street, this time carrying an American flag upside down. Both protests point to a disturbing and rising phenomenon of Chicano separatism in the United States — the product of a complex of forces, among which are multiculturalism and a generous immigration policy combined with a lax border control. The Problem Chicanos refer to "people of Mexican descent in the United States" or "Mexican Americans in general." Today, there are reasons to believe that Chicanos as a group are unlike previous immigrants in that they are more likely to remain unassimilated and unintegrated, whether by choice or circumstance — resulting in the formation of a separate quasi-nation within the United States. More than that, there are Chicano political activists who intend to marry cultural separateness with territorial and political self-determination. The more moderate among them aspire to the cultural and political autonomy of "home rule". The radicals seek nothing less than secession from the United States whether to form their own sovereign state or to reunify with Mexico. Those who desire reunification with Mexico are irredentists who seek to reclaim Mexico's "lost" territories in the American Southwest.

Whatever their goals, what animates all of them is the dream of Aztlan. According to legend, Aztlan was the ancestral homeland of the Aztecs which they left in journeying southward to found Tenochtitlan, the center of their new civilization, which is today's Mexico City. Today, the "Nation of Aztlan" refers to the American southwestern states of California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, portions of Nevada, Utah, Colorado, which Chicano nationalists claim were stolen by the United States and must be reconquered (Reconquista) and reclaimed for Mexico. The myth of Aztlan was revived by Chicano political activists in the 1960s as a central symbol of Chicano nationalist ideology. In 1969, at the Chicano National Liberation Youth Conference in Denver, Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales put forth a political document entitled El Plan de Aztlan (Spiritual Plan of Aztlan). The Plan is a clarion call to Mexican-Americans to form a separate Chicano nation: In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historial heritage, but also of the brutal "gringo" invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the nothern land of Aztlan from whence came our forefathers ...declare that the call of our blood is...our inevitable destiny.... Aztlan belongs to those who plant the seeds, water the fields, and gather the crops, and not to the foreign Europeans. We do not recognize capricious frontiers on the bronze continent.... Brotherhood unites us, and love for our brothers makes us a people whose time has come .... With our heart in our hands and our hands in the soil, we declare the independence of our mestizo nation. We are a bronze people with a bronze culture. Before the world, before all of North America, before all our brothers in the bronze continent, we are a nation, we are a union of free pueblos, we are Aztlan.

How Chicanos are Unlike Previous Immigrants Brent A. Nelson, writing in 1994, observed that in the 1980s America's Southwest had begun to be transformed into "a de facto nation" with its own culture, history, myth, geography, religion, education, and language. Whatever evidence there is indicates that Chicanos, as a group, are unlike previous waves of immigrants into the United States. In the first place, many Chicanos do not consider themselves immigrants at all because their people "have been here for 450 years" before the English, French, or Dutch. Before California and the Southwest were seized by the United States, they were the lands of Spain and Mexico. As late as 1780 the Spanish crown laid claim to territories from Florida to California, and on the far side of the Mississippi up to the Great Lakes and the Rockies. Mexico held title to much of Spanish possessions in the United States until the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the Mexican-American war in 1848. As a consequence, Mexicans "never accepted the borders drawn up by the 1848 treaty."

That history has created among Chicanos a feeling of resentment for being "a conquered people," made part of the United States against their will and by the force of arms. Their resentment is amply expressed by Voz Fronteriza, a Chicano student publication,

which referred to Border Patrol officers killed in the line of duty as "pigs (migra)" trying to defend "the false frontier."

Chicanos are also distinct from other immigrant groups because of the geographic proximity of their native country. Their physical proximity to Mexico gives Chicanos "the option of life in both Americas, in two places and in two cultures, something earlier immigrants never had." Geographic proximity and ease of transportation are augmented by the media. Radio and television keep the spoken language alive and current so that Spanish, unlike the native languages of previous immigrants into the United States, "shows no sign of fading."

A result of all that is the failure by Chicanos to be fully assimilated into the larger American society and culture. As Earl Shorris, author of Latinos: A Biography of the People, observed: "Latinos have been more resistant to the melting pot than any other group. Their entry en masse into the United States will test the limits of the American experiment...." The continuous influx of Mexican immigrants into the United States serve to continuously renew Chicano culture so that their sense of separateness will probably continue "far into the future...." There are other reasons for the failure of Chicano assimilation. Historically, a powerful force for assimilation was upward social mobility: Immigrants into the United States became assimilated as they rose in educational achievement and income. But today's post-industrial American economy, with its narrower paths to upward mobility, is making it more difficult for certain groups to improve their socioeconomic circumstances. Unionized factory jobs, which once provided a step up for the second generation of past waves of immigrants, have been disappearing for decades. Instead of the diamond-shaped economy of industrial America, the modern American economy is shaped like an hourglass. There is a good number of jobs for unskilled people at the bottom, a fair number of jobs for the highly educated at the top, but comparatively few jobs for those in the middle without a college education or special skills. To illustrate, a RAND Corporation study forecasts that 85 percent of California's new jobs will require post-secondary education. For a variety of reasons, the nationwide high-school dropout rate for Hispanics (the majority of whom are Chicano) is 30 percent — three times the rate for whites and twice the rate for blacks. Paradoxically, the dropout rate for Hispanics born in the United States is even higher than for young immigrants. Among Chicanos, high-school dropout rates actually rise between the second and third generations. Their low educational achievement accounts for why Chicanos as a group are poor despite being hardworking. In 1996, for the first time, Hispanic poverty rate began to exceed that of American blacks. In 1995, household income rose for every ethnic group except Hispanics, for whom it dropped 5 percent. Latinos now make up a quarter of the nation's poor people, and are more than three times as likely to be impoverished than whites. This decline in income has taken place despite high rates of labor-force participation by Latino men, and despite an emerging Latino middle class. In California, where Latinos now approach one-third of the population, their education levels are far lower than those of other immigrants, and they earn about half of what native-born Californians earn. This means that, for the first time in the history of American immigration, hard work is not leading to economic advancement because immigrants in service jobs face unrelenting labor-market pressure from more recently arrived immigrants who are eager to work for less. The narrowing of the pathways of upward mobility has implications for the children of recent Mexican immigrants. Their ascent into the middle-class mainstream will likely be blocked and they will join children of earlier black and Puerto Rican migrants as part of an expanded multiethnic underclass. Whereas first generation immigrants compare their circumstances to the Mexico that they left — and thereby feel immeasurably better off — their children and grandchildren will compare themelves to other U.S. groups. Given their lower educational achievement and income, that comparison will only lead to feelings of relative deprivation and resentment. They are unlikely to be content as maids, gardeners, or fruit pickers. Many young Latinos in the second and third generations see themselves as locked in irremediable conflict with white society, and are quick to deride successful Chicano students as "wannabes." For them, to study hard is to "act white" and exhibit group disloyalty. That attitude is part of the Chicano culture of resistance — a culture that actively resists assimilation into mainstream America. That culture is created, reinforced, and maintained by radical Chicano intellectuals, politicians, and the many Chicano Studies programs in U.S. colleges and universities. As examples, according to its editor, Elizabeth Martinez, the purpose of Five Hundred Years of Chicano History, a book used in over 300 schools throughout the West, is to "celebrate our resistance to being colonized and absorbed by racist empire builders." The book calls the INS and the Border Patrol "the Gestapo for Mexicans."

For Rodolfo Acuna, author of Occupied America: The Chicano's Struggle Toward Liberation, probably the most widely assigned text in U.S. Chicano Studies programs, the Anglo-American invasion of Mexico was "as vicious as that of Hitler's invasion of Poland and other Central European nations...." The book also includes a map showing "the Mexican republic" in 1822 reaching up into Kansas and Oklahoma, and including within it Utah, Nevada, and everything west and south of there

Biden's Billion-Dollar Payout to Illegals

Americans come last.

Lloyd Billingsley

“Even if the immigration law is executed with perfection, there will be parents separated from their children.” That was Cecilia Muñoz, White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, in an October 18, 2011 interview with Gretchen Gavett of PBS.

Exclusive–Roger Marshall: ‘War Zone’ at U.S.-Mexico Border ‘Worse’ than What I Saw at Poland-Ukraine Border

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS), one of only 11 Senate Republicans who voted against a $40 billion aid package for Ukraine, says the “war zone” at the United States-Mexico border is “much worse” than what he witnessed at the Poland-Ukraine border.

While visiting the U.S.-Mexico border over the last few days, Marshall exclusively told SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Daily in an interview that the “human tragedy” he has seen from human smuggling to drug trafficking is “the most threatening situation” facing Americans, not the war in Ukraine.

LISTEN:

“We’ve already done more than all the rest of the world has done,” Marshall said of his vote against spending another $40 billion in American tax dollars on the war in Ukraine.

“We have 107,000 American troops on the front NATO line … meanwhile, the biggest, the most threatening situation right now from a national security standpoint … is the southern border,” he continued.

“We need to spend $25 billion right now to fix this border. I’m calling on Joe Biden to come down and see for himself what’s really going on,” Marshall said. “It’s a human tragedy. This place turns into a war zone every night.”

In Fiscal Year 2022, which began October 1, 2021, about 5,300 pounds of fentanyl have been seized at the border. Last year alone, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) seized 9.6 million counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl. This is more than the number of counterfeit pills seized in 2019 and 2020 combined.

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) official Anne Milgram said last month that there was enough fentanyl trafficked into American communities last year, via the border, “to kill every American” citizen.

“The war is the fentanyl. That’s the real war here,” Marshall said. “Along with just the gang members and the terrorists coming across the border.”

Meanwhile, illegal immigration has hit record-breaking levels under President Joe Biden. Since taking office, the Biden administration has released more than 954,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior — a foreign population larger than five U.S. states and twice the size of Miami, Florida.

Marshall said that compared to the scenes at the Poland-Ukraine border, which he saw first-hand weeks ago, the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border is “much worse.”

“So I just was at the Poland-Ukraine border three weeks ago, and the sea of humanity I’m seeing here [at the U.S.-Mexico border] is much, much worse than what I saw,” Marshall said.

“Just the volume of people, the crisis going on. I’m a physician, I’ve done humanitarian work all across the world,” he continued. “I shouldn’t be emotionally disturbed by what I’m seeing, and what I’ve seen these past four days [at the U.S.-Mexico border] just literally makes me want to vomit. It’s so horrifying.”

Marshall also said that foreign nationals have continued to pile up on the Mexican side in preparation to “rush the border” as they believe Biden is ending the Title 42 public health authority that has stemmed waves of illegal immigration over the last two years.

In April, Trump-appointed Judge Robert R. Summerhays announced he would block the Biden administration from ending Title 42. Late last week, Summerhays issued a preliminary injunction against Biden’s efforts to end Title 42 — blocking the policy from being eliminated.

“This has been like the Gold Rush — people waiting on the other side for May 23,” Marshall said. “They don’t know that the courts settled anything, they got the fast signal from Joe Biden for everyone to come across the border. You’re going to get free food, free healthcare, amnesty, come on everybody.”

“For weeks, they’ve been told to come on May 23 and they’re going to rush the border here and overwhelm the Border Patrol officers … they’re going to rush the border this week to tie up the Border Patrol officers, and then meanwhile, two miles down the river, the drugs are coming across,” Marshall said.

While Democrats and Republicans alike, along with Biden, focus their attention on sending American taxpayer money to Ukraine, federal dollars have been diverted from the southern border even as giant holes remain in the border wall.

“There was money that was appropriated that Joe Biden diverted … there are huge holes in the wall that weren’t finished, contractors have been sent home,” Marshall said. “We were paying them $40,000 a day to not build the wall.”

“Joe Biden wants this crisis. He wants to reshape America in his image, he thinks that these are future voters for him,” he said. “He wants this crisis. They’re willing to take a political hit now to get more future Democrats across the border.”

Food Inflation Jumps to 41-Year High

The prices of food purchased by American households were up by 10 percent in April, the biggest jump in  since 1981.

The personal consumption expenditure price index for food consumed off-premises rose one percent compared with the prior month, a report released Friday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis showed.

The prices of fuel and related services were up 30 percent compared with April of last year.  Compared with March, however, energy prices actually declined in April. In May, however, they have likely climbed again. The average price of gasoline hit a new record high of $4.60 a gallon on Thursday.

The rate of inflation as measured by the personal consumption expenditure price index over the past year slowed to 6.3 percent in April from a 40-year high of 6.6 percent in March. This was the first slow down in price increases in a year and a half.

Excluding food and energy, prices were up 4.9 percent compared with a year ago, down from 5.2 percent in March and 5.3 percent in February. The so-called core prices rose 0.3 percent compared with March, the third consecutive rise of three-tenths of a percentage point. Prices rose 0.4 percent in January and 0.5 percent month-over-month in each of December, November, and October.

The decline in year-over-year inflation partly reflects the extraordinarily high level of inflation hit over a year ago, when inflation rose to a level not seen since the financial crisis.

The personal consumption expenditure index is the Commerce Department’s inflation gauge. It is seen by Federal Reserve officials as more accurately measuring price stability than the more familiar Consumer Price Index compiled by the Department of Labor. Fed officials use it when forecasting inflation and their target of two percent average inflation over time is based on PCE prices. CPI sources data from consumers, while PCE sources from businesses. PCE tends to run a bit lower than CPI but usually moves in the same direction.

Baby Formula Crisis Turns Focus on Manufacturer Monopolies, Federal Policies

A sign stand next to a small amount of toddler nutritional drink mix at Target in Stevensville, Maryland, on May 16, 2022, as a nationwide shortage of baby formula continues due to supply chain crunches tied to the coronavirus pandemic that have already strained the countrys formula stock, an issue …

The ongoing shortage of baby formula is pulling back the curtain on the how government policies have led to certain manufacturers dominating the market, the harm from a slow-moving Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and federal regulations that stymy competition.

Case in point, Abbott had a 40 percent market share before it shut down months ago after a dangerous bacteria outbreak.

Abbott shut down its Michigan plant because of the outbreak, which resulted in the death of two infants and the recall of most of its products.

But Abbott’s fate and the formula supply crisis is linked not only to disease but also the federal government’s policy to force states to pick one baby formula supplier. And the FDA is not exactly pro-active in allowing the free market to thrive, according to Yahoo Finance:

Since 1989, federal law narrowed competition by requiring each U.S. state to choose a single company to supply formulas available to low-income families under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, known as WIC. The program provides food for about half of all U.S.-born infants, and today has only three market participants, Abbott, Reckitt and Nestle.

In an interview with Yahoo Finance ahead of Wednesday’s [congressional] hearing, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) expressed concern about consolidation and FDA “red tape” limiting new manufacturers from coming to market.

“There are companies — other manufacturers that have had to wait years to come to market because of FDA delays,” McMorris Rogers said, explaining that legislation she introduced last week would put the FDA on a deadline to respond to requests from new manufacturers.

In all, just a handful of manufacturers, including Abbott, control 90 percent of the baby formula supply in the United States, according to Yahoo.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration is addressing the problem by temporarily tweaking federal laws and import restrictions to try to get more product to consumers.

The US baby formula crisis and capitalism’s indifference to the lives of children

The baby formula crisis that is threatening the lives of infants across the US deepened this week as the out-of-stock rate for baby formula on store shelves surged to 70 percent for the week ending May 22. The shortage rate during the previous week was 45 percent, according to the retail tracking firm Datasembly.

The supply shortage is so severe that there are now reports in some areas of the country of mothers attempting to purchase breast milk online from anonymous and independent sources such as Facebook and Craigslist. Pediatric nutritionists are warning that such measures are potentially very harmful to children.

The crisis of powdered formula supplies, 90 percent of which are produced by four monopolies that dominate the US pediatric nutrition industry, is not a mistake or a product of unforeseen circumstances. It is the outcome of a society run by a ruling elite that, in its singular preoccupation with increasing its wealth, is totally indifferent to the lives and well-being of children.

There has been a combination of criminal negligence, corporate profiteering, stock market manipulation and government complicity that have resulted in the shortage of the essential food needed by infants and toddlers, especially those from poor and working-class families.

The supply shortage began almost immediately following the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in February 2020 when supply chains and transportation were disrupted internationally. During the initial days of the pandemic, families stockpiled the formula and emptied shelves. This was followed by a sharp fall in sales, and manufacturers cut back on production.

Now, with an uptick in births and a dramatic decline in breastfeeding rates among new mothers, demand has shot up again. The inability of the producers to adapt to fluctuations in demand is itself an expression of the anarchistic and unplanned nature of capitalist economics.

The primary cause of the recent surge in the shortage stems from the shutdown in February of the baby formula factory operated by Abbott Labs in Sturgis, Michigan, the largest in the US. The plant is responsible for 25 percent of the US supply and produces the popular brand names Similac, Alimentum and EleCare.

In February, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) forced Abbott Labs to recall products and shut down the Sturgis facility. This action was taken only after it became clear that the conditions in the plant were so unsanitary that the federal government agency, which has a long history of collaboration with the corporations in the food and drug industries, could no longer look the other way.

During congressional testimony Wednesday, FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf said the agency’s inspection of the Sturgis operations that began on January 31 revealed conditions that were “shocking” and “egregiously unsanitary.”

Dr. Califf told the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations of the House Energy and Commerce Committee that the “totality of evidence” obtained during the inspection caused the FDA to conclude that infant formulas manufactured at this plant “were produced under insanitary conditions.” He added that the formula “may be contaminated” with bacteria that is known to be fatal in infants.

Among the unsanitary conditions uncovered at the Sturgis factory were that multiple swab samples “later tested positive for the bacteria Cronobacter sakazakii,” cracks in the spray dryers used in the manufacturing process are “an issue related to previous foodborne illness outbreak in powdered infant formula” and water leaks and condensation that are known risk factors for deadly bacteria were found “in areas where dry powdered formula was produced.”

Califf also reported leaks in the roof, standing water in the factory and two instances in the past, based on internal company documents, when finished baby formula was known to have “environmental contamination with Cronobacter sakazakii.” The FDA commissioner claimed that these poisoned batches, which were produced by Abbott Labs in 2019 and 2020, had been destroyed by the company.

The FDA inspection was motivated in part by the fact that four infants, who had been fed nutrition products from the Sturgis factory, had been hospitalized between September and December 2021 with Cronobacter infection. Cronobacter sakazakii is a serious foodborne pathogen that can cause “severe, life-threatening infections,” including sepsis and meningitis as well as bowel damage. Two of the children died from their infections.

The agency was also belatedly responding to a report by a whistleblower who in October 2021 disclosed details about the dilapidated conditions at the Michigan factory. The whistleblower also highlighted the retaliatory policy of company management and its firing of employees who objected to the failure to follow FDA requirements, falsification of records, releasing untested products onto retail shelves and failure of antiquated equipment at the Sturgis facility.

Abbott Laboratories is a $200 billion global corporation that produces medical devices and health care products and was founded in 1888. The multinational has profited enormously over the past two years from its pandemic-related COVID testing products, while its less profitable pediatric nutritionals operations have been starved of resources.

Meanwhile, the company—whose Executive Chairman Miles D. White earned $27 million and CEO and President Robert Ford earned $25 million in 2021—has rewarded its investors with billions of dollars in quarterly stock buybacks while the bacterial contamination of its baby formula products was well-known. In December 2021, after the FDA had notified Abbott Labs of a planned inspection of its Sturgis facility, the company announced a $5 billion stock repurchase authorization.

Throughout the bacterial contamination crisis, Abbott Labs has claimed there is no proof that its products have caused infants to become sick and die from life-threatening infections. The company has also maintained that the allegations in the 34-page whistleblower report are untrue.

The belligerence of Abbott Labs in the face of facts that it has acted in a criminally negligent manner has been bolstered by the FDA and the US Justice Department, which signed a consent decree with the corporation on May 16. This agreement guarantees that Abbott Labs will not be prosecuted or held responsible for the bacterial contamination of its baby formula products, in exchange for restarting its manufacturing operations at the Sturgis plant.

The fact that millions of families are now desperately searching for baby formula on empty store shelves and forced to make life and death decisions to feed their infants is proof that the corporations and the government do not care about what happens to the lives of millions of children. This fact was confirmed in the recent comment by President Biden’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg who washed his hands of the crisis, saying, “The government does not make baby formula, nor should it. Companies make formula.”

“Let’s be very clear,” Buttigieg said, “this is a capitalist country.” Precisely. While Buttigieg made this statement to justify a position that the government should do nothing, the entire crisis condemns the social and economic system that the Biden administration and the entire state apparatus defend.

The formula shortage—coming in the midst of a massive surge in prices throughout the world and an ongoing pandemic that has already killed more than one million people in the United States—is another demonstration of the urgent necessity for the socialist reorganization of society.

Baby formula production and distribution—and other essential products and services required to sustain the lives of millions and billions of people on the earth—must be taken out of the hands of the financial parasites who own them. The working class must transform these resources into public property and operate them based on social need and not profit.

Summers: Government Policies Have Made Formula Situation Worse

1:38

During an interview aired on Friday’s edition of Bloomberg’s “Wall Street Week,” Harvard Professor, economist, Director of the National Economic Council under President Barack Obama, and Treasury Secretary under President Bill Clinton Larry Summers stated that if state governments had better procurement rules, “we would be in a better position, with respect to infant formula today.” And criticized the high tariffs on infant formula.

Summers said, “We should be pushing for vigorous competition. Probably the single most important instrument the government has for promoting competition in key industries is maintaining open markets, in which foreign companies have access to U.S. markets and can compete with U.S. producers, and which, in return for that, U.S. producers get more access to foreign markets. Trade liberalization is central to having competition in the economy, and it should be at the front of any kind of competition policy. If we had not had 17.5% tariffs on infant formula, we would be in a much better position, with respect to that issue today. If governments had more sensible procurement policies, with respect to infant formula at the state level, we would be in a better position, with respect to infant formula today. So, yes, I applaud the administration’s emphasis on competition policy. But that means we’ve got to respect all competitors who can help American households.”
