Semi-Fascism vs. Full-Fascism in American Government

President Biden claims millions of Republican voters have embraced “semi-fascism.” They “threaten not just our personal rights and economic security, but our very democracy, the very foundation of our republic,” in a “battle for the soul of our nation.”
This is hardly the “moderate” way to “unite” America. But Mr. Biden isn’t alone. Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison says the Republican Party has “become a party of fascism and fear.” Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) rants that Republican “fascists” are trying “to overthrow the government.” Their media allies echo and amplify the accusations.
Do they know what “fascism” means? Have they looked in a mirror, or at their own history and agenda?
Merriam-Webster defines fascism as “centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.”
A more complete definition: An extreme, intolerant system under which an authoritarian government doesn’t own businesses outright, but dictates to or colludes with them to redistribute wealth and property, control access to information, and determine what companies and people can make, do, sell and say – employing laws, intimidation, police powers and violence to advance their agenda.
That certainly seems to describe the current White House, Executive Branch, Democrat Congress, and woke corporations and media. It recalls the old saw that Republicans want to control what you do in your bedroom, but Democrats want to control everything you do outside your bedroom.
Examples are too voluminous to list. But few actions in American history epitomize police state autocracy better than armed FBI agents raiding President 45 Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. The message is unmistakable: If we can do this to a former president, imagine what we can do to you little people, if you protest at the US Capitol or school board meetings, question Democrat election victories, or even support organizations on our Disapproved list. Be very careful what you say or do.
A New Jersey mom learned that recently when armed FBI agents showed up at her home, after someone anonymously and falsely said she was at the Capitol on January 6. And you thought Lois Lerner and the IRS had weaponized government agencies.
Almost as shocking, all this and the House Jan. 6 Star Chamber proceedings followed years of black-shirted Antifa thugs burning, looting and bludgeoning their way through cities, to voice their displeasure over the 2016 presidential election, police brutality and other grievances. Few were ever arrested, much less prosecuted, and many were bailed out by sympathizers like then-Senator Kamala Harris.
Thought control comes through what is taught in our schools, kindergarten through graduate and law school, and via censorship, in blatant violation of our First Amendment rights. Schools trumpet diversity in all arenas, except political parties, beliefs and speech, where diversity is simply not tolerated.
A lawsuit by Louisiana and Missouri Attorneys General and the New Civil Liberties Alliance has unearthed Facebook, Twitter, Meta and YouTube emails revealing that at least 32 federal officials in multiple federal agencies apparently secretly colluded with the social media giants on ways to “moderate” content on their platforms, by illegally and systematically suppressing “misinformation,” unapproved thinking and inconvenient evidence about Covid, vaccinations, ivermectin, climate change and other key issues.
Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauci and former Press Secretary Jen Psaki have been deeply involved in this blatant censorship. So have many other top officials at the White House, HHS, FDA, CDC, Census Bureau, State and Treasury Departments, and other agencies, including the FBI, the lawsuit states.
Certain media have worked behind the scenes with House of Representatives Democrats in advance of hearings intended to help federal officials and Facebook “fact check,” intimidate and cancel experts who question claims that climate change poses an “existential threat” to humanity and the planet. News and social media organizations have also assisted House Democrats with inquisitions into oil companies’ alleged failure to “live up to” their climate pledges by slashing oil production, while simultaneously failing to increase oil production to reduce Biden-policy-driven gasoline prices.
Free speech, access to all relevant information, and open, robust debate are the foundation of democracy, wise public policies, and our ability to make informed decisions about our health, welfare and voting options. But this collusion and censorship are destroying these principles. These actions should be punishable by fines, firings, prison terms and lost benefits for all government conspirators.
Facebook even blocked House Republican criticism of President Biden’s student loan forgiveness scheme. Their comment, “If you take out a loan, you pay it back. Period,” was banned by algorithms and multiple human managers as a “violation of community standards” – before it was finally allowed.
In the name of averting an “imminent manmade climate crisis,” the Biden administration is deliberately locking this nation’s abundant, reliable, affordable fossil fuel energy in the ground. As those actions send prices ever higher, non-ruling classes are told, set your thermostats to a comfortable, planet-friendly 80 degrees F in summer, and 65 degrees in winter.
Drive no more than 5,000 miles a year. Vacation no more than once every three years. Ditch your gasoline-fueled car, but don’t charge your $60,000 electric vehicle, because you might cause a blackout on grids increasingly reliant on weather-dependent wind and solar power.
This is not just a dictatorial erosion of our personal rights and living standards. People die from health conditions they would otherwise survive, amid freezing winters when they can’t heat their homes properly, and during summer heat waves when they can’t cool their homes sufficiently. Indeed, the death toll just from government COVID actions, inactions and censorship is staggeringly high.
To impose more of their extreme agendas, Deep State bureaucrats are again engaging in collusive sue-and-settle lawsuits. Government agencies invite “progressive” groups to sue them in friendly courts, in pretend-disagreements over regulations that all parties want implemented. They then “settle” their “disputes” – and the rules become binding. Third parties impacted by the decisions never get to contest the collusion, present evidence, or even be notified that a lawsuit has been filed, until it’s too late. It’s the Obama years on steroids.
Meanwhile: Other criminals have picked up where Antifa left off. They’ve fire-bombed 50+ pregnancy counseling centers, howled outside Supreme Court justices’ homes, and attempted to assassinate Justice Kavanaugh, emulating a Bernie Sanders volunteer who tried to murder multiple Republican congressmen at a 2017 baseball practice.
With help from drug cartels, illegal immigrants keep pouring across America’s wide-open southern borders. When 50 were flown from Florida to wealthy Martha’s Vineyard, locals shipped them off to a military base the very next day. Many wondered why Vineyard residents, celebrities and other Democrats couldn’t open their sanctuary city hearts, homes and wallets – rather than just their mouths.
Amid all this, instead of bringing real miscreants to justice, the FBI obsesses with finding “white supremacist terrorism threats” at school board meetings and maybe under beds. “The demand for White supremacy vastly outstrips the supply,” quipped a still non-politicized agent.
And don’t forget, this Democrat Party was also the party of the Confederacy, KKK, literacy tests, barred schoolhouse doors and lynchings. You could call it a prior personification of fascism – and transference, the psychopathological term for attributing your own bad actions and motives to others.
All this may not amount to full-fascism, but it’s getting perilously close, and already it’s far worse than semi. Is this the path you want for America? If not, make your voice heard loud and clear before or on November 8.
The stakes are incredibly high – on these matters, court packing, abolishing the filibuster, and much more.

Did the FBI Finally Go Too Far?
On reading about the Saturday arrest of pro-life activist Mark Houck, I thought the author at this alternative site had to be exaggerating. It struck me as beyond belief that two dozen or so armed FBI agents would swarm the house of a Catholic father of seven, rifles drawn, and arrest him in front of his weeping children for anything short of murder.
I have had to recalibrate my belief system. The “crime” fell quite a bit short of murder. On October 13, 2021, Houck brought his 12-year-old son with him for his weekly sidewalk counseling outside of a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Philadelphia. A volunteer escort at the abortion clinic reportedly called Houck’s son a “fag” among other insults and threatened him. Houck pushed the man away from his son, and the man fell. Houck, the founder of an organization that promotes Christian virtue among men, was not charged with a crime.
However petty the incident, U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, had Houck seized at gunpoint nearly a year later and bragged about the arrest. Said PR hack Jennifer Crandall in a press release, Houck “assaulted a man because he was a volunteer reproductive health care clinic escort.”
Before proceeding, this sentence needs parsing. The most problematic word is “because.” Houck has had hundreds of opportunities to assault escorts if their offense in his eyes was to be an escort. Although the press release claims two incidents on that same day with the man, Houck had no prior or subsequent altercations.
Then there is the Orwellian phrase “reproductive health care clinic escort.” Ms. Crandall is somehow fusing the “reproductive rights” euphemism favored by abortion activists with the function of the escort, whose mission, of course, is to assure that no reproduction takes place on his watch.
“Assault is always a serious offense, and under the FACE Act, if the victim is targeted because of their association with a reproductive healthcare clinic, it is a federal crime,” huffed U.S. Attorney Jacqueline Romero. Her piety was echoed by still another Jacqueline, Jacqueline Maguire, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Philadelphia Division.
“Put simply, violence is never the answer,” said agent Maguire. “Violating the FACE Act by committing a physical assault is a serious crime for which the FBI will work to hold offenders accountable.” The DoJ has not only bastardized the language, but it has also weaponized the law to advance the interests of the Democratic Party. That this arrest took place in the politically contested state of Pennsylvania is not likely a coincidence.
GOP gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano saw the raid for what it was. “This show of force was carried out by the Biden regime against ordinary Americans is an abuse of power that stands against the fundamental principles on which our country was founded,” said Mastriano. “As Governor, I will not allow the police state of Biden to enforce his persecution against his political enemies on sacred Pennsylvania soil.”
For the record, FACE is short for “Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances.” As has become much too obvious, only one side of the abortion debate has been awarded federal protection. Since the leak of the Dobbs decision on May 3, attacks against pro-life entities and the Catholic church, already a problem, have only escalated.
The Catholic News Agency reports 97 such attacks in the months following the leak, 53 of them against pregnancy centers. These include vulgar pro-abortion graffiti, the beheading of statues, the desecration of altars, threats, theft, and even arson. Several have involved the disruption of church services and nasty confrontations with the police.
At least two of these incidents took place in the jurisdiction of the two Jacquelines. In May 2022, for instance, the glass front doors of Notre Dame de Lourdes church in Swarthmore were spray-painted with the unsubtle message: ‘You do not have the right to decide what people can do, #ProChoice.” In June, vandals defaced St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Philadelphia with pro-abortion graffiti.
As far as anyone knows, the DoJ has ignored all these incidents despite the implicit civil rights violations involved. For its apparatchiks, “extremists” like Houck are the enemy. “If convicted,” they tell us, “the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 11 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and fines of up to $350,000.”
The Twitter responses to Houck’s arrest suggest a widespread indifference on the Left to the rule of law and common decency. Here is a representative tweet from a woman named Mary, one of the few without any obscenities: “You’re REALLY leaning into the ‘Catholic’ part of this story, when the truth is that a professional ‘manly man’ who spends his days harassing vulnerable women physically assaulted a real man TWICE. Mark Houck makes his living as the leader of a toxic masculinity cult; arrest him.”
Has the FBI gone too far? For the Left, if the enemy is the right, it cannot go far enough.
How to Prepare for a Pre-Dawn Visit From the FBI
It’s clear the FBI has no interest in students threatening to shoot up schools (Nikolas Cruz), team doctors who assault underage gymnasts (Larry Nassar), or crackheads illegally possessing guns (Hunter Biden).
No, if you’re a criminal, a pervert, or a Democrat -- or some combination of the three -- the Feebs won’t be busting your door down at three in the morning and dragging you out into the street in your tighty whities.
The folks the Bureau’s been busting lately with great fanfare, and occasionally a CNN news crew in tow, are a different sort altogether: folks who vote Republican; Trump supporters; parents concerned about the crap taught in public schools; and Catholic abortion activists.
That’s who the rogue FBI wants to embarrass, take down, and ruin. So I’ve compiled a list of things you can do to limit the damage when the FBI eventually comes for you.
Protecting Your Front and Back Yards
When the Feebs go after enemies of the Deep State, they like to surround the house. It looks impressive on TV.
So, you’ll need two dogs on long chains, one in the front yard and one in the back. German shepherds are a good choice for deterrence, Shih Tsu’s are best if merely making a loud ruckus is what you’re after.
It goes without saying that bent cops are inherently cowards who want no part of big nasty dogs or even an ankle-biter. The FBI raiders parked in front of your home will either have to wait for animal control to show up -- giving you time to shower and put on a nice outfit for the perp-walk -- or the gutless Feebs will shoot your dogs, at the very least alerting you as to what’s happening.
Door Signs
There’s two ways you can go with door signs. If you’re resigned to getting busted, put up a sign saying: The door’s open, please don’t bust it down! Perhaps you’ll be lucky and the lead Feeb will simply use the doorknob.
Obfuscation is another way to go. You could try: We love Joe Biden, he’s NOT a useless vegetable!
The Feebs, at least the ones running the show, take their marching orders from ol’ Crusty Joe, and perhaps they’ll forgo having you kneel down on your front lawn while they cuff you.
Be a Good Host
Like any other flatfoot, a Feeb loves a good cup of joe and a French cruller. Before going to bed at night, make sure you’re adequately supplied with Dunkin Donuts products -- there won’t be time to go when you start hearing the sirens and the whirring blades of the FBI helicopters. As the Bureau storm troopers break down your front door, totally ignoring your “Door’s Open” sign, offer each one of them a hot coffee and a tasty treat. Faced with such kindness, perhaps they’ll eschew the new FBI custom of rifling through the lady of the house’s underwear drawer.
Flattery Always Helps
Although the FBI agents busting you are amoral, partisan creeps on a par with the Gestapo, they’re still human. Tell them how good they look in their FBI-emblazoned windbreakers. Ask them, without smirking, about all those terrorist plots they’ve foiled that nobody knows about. Have a framed photo of a smiling James Comey in the downstairs bathroom. Tell them you think Lisa Page is pretty freakin’ hot, anything to keep them from slapping you and your loved ones around.
Sedatives for the Kids
Sadly, your kids will be traumatized for life after watching their unshaven, beer-bellied dad hanging out of his boxers on Channel 5 News. So always have a bottle of Zanax or Valium handy for when the Feds unexpectedly visit. And make sure your kids know the right dose to take, in case you and your spouse have already been hog-tied on the living room floor. A list of psychologists should also be posted in plain sight, ideally professionals within walking distance, since you’re likely to be spending significant time in the slammer. The sooner your children start therapy after the trauma of watching FBI goons attack their home and family, the better.
Change Your Race
In the eyes of the FBI, BLM miscreants burning down cities, spitting on cops, and attacking innocents are just fine. It’s those pesky white supremacists the Feebs are after. If you’re unfortunate enough to be of Caucasian lineage, you fit that threat assessment perfectly.
So, when the federal SWAT team comes crashing into your front hall, give them the black power salute, chant “Black Lives Matter,” and tell them you’re somewhere between 1/64th and 1/1024th African-American and that you’ve got Benjamin Crump on speed dial. Have a framed photo of Lloyd Austin hanging in the living room to add authority to your claim.
Can’t hurt, might work.
Vote this November
Despite all the preparations I’ve suggested, when the rogue FBI comes a knocking at your door, you’re screwed. With the help of Deep State judges and the fake-news media, the FBI will happily ruin you, your family, your finances, and your reputation (see Flynn, General Michael).
And all for having the wrong political views.
The only truly effective way to avoid getting an FBI jackboot placed firmly upon your neck is to vote every Deep State Democrat and RINO out of office this November. That’s the start of reining in the now thoroughly disgraced agency.
And the end of the FBI, as it currently exists, will come when you vote Donald Trump into office in November, 2024. The Donald is famous for settling scores, and I for one can’t wait to see this one settled.

Biden's 'new normal' is an inflation-wracked, crime-infested police state — with a nuclear threat
Another day in Biden's America: crime and inflation surging, illegal aliens flooding our country or dying as they try, trust in elections gone, and half the country denounced by the Big Guy as a "dangerous threat to our democracy."
America has its first-ever political prisoners, based on an unruly, unarmed protest at the Capitol on Jan. 6, and free speech is under attack everywhere from college campuses to our country's largest social media companies.
War is threatening to engulf us and possibly the rest of the globe.
Who cares? Certainly not Biden or the Democrats.
It's just another day in woke America: Air Force cadets are told not to use "offensive" terms like "mom" and "dad," people are canceled if they object to men in women's bathrooms, and elitists tell us we can't define "women," because men can have babies, too.
A Catholic president and speaker of the House shove abortion down our throats (whatever happened to the Democrats' "safe, legal and rare"?), even as pro-abortion types finally admit there are real babies in there, not just clumps of tissue. Children are heartlessly mutilated because their parents think they should be a different gender. Young people are dying in droves from fentanyl because of an open border, and the administration is doing nothing that we can see.
Police have been defunded, and violent criminals have been released. Children are taught that America is hopelessly racist, and obviously guilty Democrat politicians go free while any people connected to Trump risk arrest in the middle of the night or being publicly detained so that the FBI can seize their cell phones.
In Biden's America, our children hear every day that they may never get to enjoy adulthood if we don't toe the line on switching to electric vehicles, giving up fossil fuels, birthing fewer babies, and consuming less or no meat at all, not to protect cows, but to keep too many of them from burping.
Worst of all: Russia is threatening to use nuclear weapons over Ukraine, and nobody in government or the media seems even the slightest bit concerned.
According to the administration, it's just a bluff. Don't worry.
But I, for one, worry a lot any time the word "nuke" is used. The last few Gen Xers I talked to didn't even know that Russian missiles could reach the United States.
If this is Biden's America, I want my old America back.
That's the one I grew up in, where children could play safely outdoors, where people generally respected the justice system, and almost everyone thought America was a place worth fighting and even dying for.
Of all this leftist nonsense, double-speak, and unreality daily destroying our sanity, our country, and our culture, the thing that worries me the most is this: why isn't this administration trying to bring an end to the killing and destruction in Ukraine, which could so easily spread? Why isn't the leader of the free world, President Joe Biden, even a voice for peace?
Russia is now starting to mobilize its economy and its people for a long war. The same sort of thing happened in Russia and Europe more than a hundred years ago, making World War I inevitable.
All we hear from this Democrat administration is that Russia doesn't have the will, the money, or the necessary modern arms to sustain this war — weapons like we are supplying to Ukraine to keep it fighting.
Didn't Democrats oppose the wars in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan? Aren't they the so-called party of peace, made up mostly of '60s college leftists who once burned their draft cards and shouted, "Better red than dead"?
No longer young now, I guess. They're just woke in Biden's America.

The time has come to reform the FBI
Friday mornings are usually the cheeriest time of the week, just hours away from the weekend. Alas for pro-life advocate Mark Houck and his family, last Friday was anything but joyous. At 7 A.M., the father of seven was awakened by a SWAT team of heavily armed FBI agents.
Mark's wife, Ryan-Marie, said she pleaded with the FBI agents to be calm, owing to the presence of the couple's seven young children. Alas, those pleas fell on deaf ears. Ryan-Marie recounts the raid as follows:
A "SWAT team of about 25 came to my house with about 15 vehicles and started pounding on our door."
"They said they were going to break in if he didn't open it. And then they had about five guns pointed at my husband, myself, and basically at my kids[.]"
The "kids were screaming. It was all just very scary and traumatic."
The FBI agents said they were there to arrest Mark.
When Ryan-Marie asked for their warrant, "they said that they were going to take him whether they had a warrant or not." When Ryan-Marie protested, saying, "You can't just come to a person's house and kidnap them at gunpoint," the FBI agreed to get the warrant from one of their vehicles.
Mark asked her to get him his sweatshirt and rosaries, but after she returned, they already had loaded him into a vehicle. They provided Ryan-Marie with the first page of the warrant and said they were taking Mark to "the federal building in downtown Philadelphia."
So what was Mark's crime that merited an emergency raid and arrest by armed FBI agents?
Was he plotting a terror attack or assassination on U.S. soil later that day?
Was he preparing to flee to a country that doesn't have an extradition treaty with the U.S. after committing a heinous crime?
Was he a serial killer who was on the prowl for his next potential victim?
Was he in possession of weapons of mass destruction?
As the Iron Lady Thatcher once said: "No. No. No."
Federal court documents revealed that Mark was arrested on the charge that on two occasions, he assaulted a 72-year-old volunteer at the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Philadelphia. The incident occurred on Oct. 13, 2021, almost a year ago. If the matter was of such urgency and importance, why did they not act sooner?
Ryan-Marie said the district court in Philadelphia investigated and dismissed the charge earlier this year.
Ryan-Marie says Mark often spoke outside abortion clinics and occasionally took their 12-year-old son along. On one occasion, a man "came into [the son's] personal space," prompting Mark, in a bid to protect his son, to have "shoved him away." She said the man suffered no injuries, yet he tried to sue Mark. His case was thrown out, according to Houck's lawyer, because he repeatedly failed to show up in court.
After his Friday arrest, Mark appeared before the U.S. Eastern District Court in Pennsylvania. The Eastern District of Pennsylvania U.S. Attorney's Office wrote in its Friday press release that Mark was indicted for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which "makes it a federal crime to use force with the intent to injure, intimidate, and interfere with anyone because that person is a provider of reproductive health care."
Authorities released Houck later that day, but he now faces felony charges. If convicted, Houck could have up to an 11-year prison sentence and fines of up to $350,000.
A GiveSendGo campaign for the Houck family has raised over $128,000.
Since Joe Biden was inaugurated as president, his Department of Justice and the FBI have targeted Trump-supporters, conservatives, and pro-lifers.
- The DOJ charged social media influencer Douglass Mackey with interference during the 2016 presidential election.
- The FBI seized the cell phones and computers belonging to Trump's former lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, despite not charging them.
- Parents who opposed the Critical Race Theory being taught in school were labeled domestic terrorists.
- The FBI raided the homes of personnel associated with Project Veritas, including the organization's founder, James O'Keefe. Veritas had reported on a diary written by Joe Biden's daughter, Ashley, in which she revealed that Biden behaved inappropriately with her.
- The DOJ arrested former Trump adviser and Democrat critic Steve Bannon for refusing to cooperate with the January 6 probe.
- Trump trade aide Peter Navarro was arrested at Washington's Reagan National Airport and placed in leg irons.
- The FBI also arrested a leading Republican candidate for governor of Michigan, Ryan Kelley, for participating in the January 6 protests.
- The FBI seized the phone of former Trump attorney John Eastman in a parking lot. Eastman wasn't even presented with a warrant.
- The FBI searched the home of former Trump DOJ official Jeff Clark, claiming that Clark had a role in the "insurrection."
- The Biden administration has also targeted the January 6 protesters. Some were placed in solitary confinement for prolonged periods of time. One was tormented to the extent that he was driven to suicide.
- Finally, the FBI conducted an unprecedented raid on President Trump's Mar-a-Lago home.
In contrast, BLM rioters who caused considerable damage to property and lives across cities in 2020 faced little or no legal ramifications. The same is true for thugs who vandalized churches and pregnancy centers and hoodlums who tossed a Molotov cocktail into pro-life offices. The FBI doesn't seem concerned about the Supreme Court leaker who compromised the integrity of the highest court in the nation.
The FBI is functioning like secret police in a totalitarian state.
It is customary for such secret police to target dissenters with surveillance and unannounced raids. Prolonged detention without a reason is common with habeas corpus rights violated. The media function as stenographers for the state. The law is enforced selectively — dissenters are punished for the pettiest of infractions, while serious crimes of loyalists are ignored. There are classified dossiers on persons of importance. Those who dare to challenge the status quo are reminded of their past indiscretions or secrets or crimes.
Effectively, political opposition is outlawed. This is exactly what FBI is doing.
The secret police have no place in one of the world's leading democracies.
It is therefore essential that the GOP lead an initiative to reform the FBI. This begins by dismantling the leadership and the bureaucratic organizational structure within these agencies. Rogue agents, irrespective of their position, must be summarily dismissed. All security clearances must be reviewed and access of rogue agents revoked. All their cases, particularly recent ones, must be probed, and perhaps a special counsel should be appointed. Transfers must be mandatory after a specific number of years in a department. An audit of all their finances should be conducted. Stronger laws must be passed to protect whistleblowers.
The swamp won't go quietly, obviously.
Dissenters will be threatened with secret dossiers and targeted with raids, confiscations, and arrests. The media will peddle paranoia and cheer this resistance to reform.
Reform will take a herculean and persistent effort.
But it will be worth it.
The FBI is America's foremost law enforcement agency that protects citizens from criminals and terrorists. In a democracy, the FBI is obliged to operate while guarding and respecting the rights of citizens.
It has to be remembered that liberty and security are not mutually exclusive.

Republicans Send Preservation Notice to Ex-FBI Official Accused of Shutting Down Hunter Biden Investigation
Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee sent a preservation notice Friday to former FBI official Timothy Thibault, warning Thibault to save records related to the multiple whistleblower allegations he is facing in the event Republicans take the majority and are able to conduct a formal investigation.
The Republicans referenced in their letter Breitbart News’s report from July revealing an FBI whistleblower had accused Thibault, a former assistant special agent in charge, of pressuring agents to reclassify cases as “domestic violent extremism” despite limited evidence supporting reclassification.
The Republicans also cited a whistleblower claim that Thibault shut down a line of investigation into “derogatory Hunter Biden reporting,” an accusation initially brought to light by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“We have been investigating serious allegations of abuse and misconduct within the senior leadership of the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” the Republicans wrote to Thibault.
They continued:
Brave whistleblowers have informed us that as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the Washington Field Office, you pressured line agents to reclassify cases as “domestic violent extremism” even though there was minimal, circumstantial evidence to support a reclassification. Other whistleblowers have come to Congress alleging that you were part of a scheme to undermine and discredit allegations of criminal wrongdoing by members of the Biden family. Accordingly, we believe that you possess information relating to our investigation and we request your assistance with our inquiry.
In addition to the whistleblower revelation from Grassley’s office, the Washington Free Beacon first reported in September that Thibault “helped bury information” about Tony Bobulinski, a former business partner to Hunter Biden who became a key witness in Hunter Biden investigations after going public with claims that President Joe Biden spoke with Hunter about Hunter’s overseas business dealings.
The letter to Thibault was signed by House Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), as well as Reps. Darrell Issa (R-CA) and Mike Johnson (R-LA).
The letter comes after Thibault, who is also under investigation for a potential Hatch Act violation, resigned from the FBI in August and subsequently denied some allegations against him while ignoring others in a statement through his legal counsel.
In addition to demanding Thibault preserve any relevant documents and communications, the congressmembers also asked that Thibault appear before them to testify, although Republicans, who are in the minority party, cannot issue a subpoena to compel Thibault to appear.
House Judiciary Committee Democrats, who have majority power, control the committee’s investigative activity, such as conducting hearings and issuing subpoenas, and committee chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) has not conveyed interest in investigating the FBI’s handling of probes related to Hunter Biden.
