If Texas's governor can bus a few thousand denizens from Joe Biden's border surge into the sanctuary cities of New York and Washington, why can't Florida's governor go one better and start flying them to tony Martha's Vineyard in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts?
Turns out he has, and now Martha's Vineyard gets to be the border state.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is responsible for the two planes full of illegal immigrants that landed at Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts on Wednesday, according to Fox News.
Approximately 48 migrants landed at Martha's Vineyard Airport Wednesday afternoon, the Vineyard Gazette reported.
Although the Gazette reported the migrants came from Texas, DeSantis took credit for sending the migrants.
"Yes, Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha's Vineyard today were part of the state's relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations," Desantis communications director Taryn Fenske told Fox News.
"States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as 'sanctuary states' and support for the Biden administration's open border policies," Fenske said.
It's a fitting response, given the elites' hypocrisy, being all for the entry of illegal aliens to other people's states, while advocating for this arrangement from their isolated and exclusive redoubts.
Already Texas governor Greg Abbott's busing of migrants has prompted complaints from the mayors of the two metropolises that have been on the receiving end of the Biden migrant surge, based on his busings.
Now that the migrants are going to the actual bedroom and vacation communities of the elites, the howls should go through the roof.
Illegal migration, it turns out, has costs, huge economic ones, not just to the migrants themselves, who pay tens of thousands of dollars to Mexico's notorious cartels as illicit admission fees for a dangerous entry into the U.S. They also burden taxpayers. A recent study from the Federation for Immigration Reform (FAIR) found that each illegal migrant costs U.S. taxpayers upwards of $9,000 per year, with the current border surge since Joe Biden took office running up the taxpayer tab of $20.4 billion per year. The bulk of those costs are from those citizens who live in unguarded border states.
It gets worse when one calculates the cost of crime and disorder, not just welfare payouts. Increasingly, we are seeing crime rising and heinous crimes committed by the participants in the current border surge. A recent Venezuelan migrant went berserk in New York City, prompting the city to blame the police officer who attempted to stop him. In California, another illegal alien from Venezuela beheaded the mother of his children with a sword. The Venezuelans as a migrant group seem to have many criminals in their ranks, which appears to be a reflection of the massive crime in their own country. While some Venezuelans indeed may qualify for asylum, these people should not even been allowed in the country under Biden's catch-and-release policy. Releasing the slums of Caracas onto the people of Florida is a crime in itself. The violence seen coming from this group is striking — it reminds me of the Marielito criminal onslaught that plagued Florida when Cuban dictator Fidel Castro emptied out his prisons and mental asylums in 1980, and a huge wave of criminals were foisted onto the U.S.
Back then, Marielitos were eventually placed in special detention facilities until they could be sorted out in order to protect the public. That was simple use of law and order. The Venezuelans face no such brakes under the Biden administration, and Biden himself is exerting no pressure on Venezuela to take the criminals among them back, which is what past presidents have done when Castro acted out. Venezuela is actually refusing to take back any nationals from its country and suffering no consequences for it, even though that would seem to be the commonsense thing for a president who observes law and order, if not his own polling numbers, to do.
Well, now Martha's Vineyard can take a few thousand illegal migrants from Venezuela and elsewhere via Florida and see what that does to their property values.
What we have here is a studied pressure move to take the costs of illegal immigration to the supporters of illegal immigration to show them what states such as Florida have experienced and paid. Maybe it will get their attention.
These so-called undocumented immigrants are becoming legally indistinguishable from citizens as they openly reside in 500 sanctuary jurisdictions, receive welfare, education and medical care, are granted drivers licenses, and given tuition breaks at public universities as they, not legal immigrants or American citizens, are exempt from federal immigration, health and travel laws.

Democrats Freak Out over DeSantis Flying Illegal Aliens to Martha’s Vineyard: ‘Evil and Inhumane’
Democrats and far-left activists are freaking out after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) flew two planes filled with illegal aliens, mostly men from Venezuela, to Martha’s Vineyard — the small, elite East Coast vacation spot where former President Obama owns an $11.75 million home.
On Wednesday evening, DeSantis announced that he had sent two planes full of Venezuelan illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard. The move comes as Texas and Arizona have sent thousands of border crossers on migrant buses to Washington, DC, New York City, and Chicago over the last few months.
For the Republican governors, the goal of the migrant bus and illegal alien flight operations is to expose “sanctuary city” hypocrisy where Democrats approve policies shielding illegal aliens from arrest and deportation while also pushing the burden of illegal immigration onto more vulnerable states like Arizona, Florida, and Texas.
In response, Democrats and far-left activists are condemning DeSantis’s flights of illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard.
Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) claimed the flights are equivalent to human trafficking, while a local elected official called the flights “evil and inhumane.”
Other far-left activists, such as the Lincoln Project’s Rick Wilson, compared DeSantis to a Mexican drug cartel human smuggler, and another claimed the flights are similar to segregationism in the 1960s.
To date, nearly five million border crossers and illegal aliens have arrived at the United States-Mexico border under President Joe Biden. Nearly all hope to be released into American communities as part of the administration’s expanded Catch and Release network.
Annually, for all American taxpayers, illegal immigration costs more than $143 billion, as anywhere from 11 to 22 million illegal aliens continue to reside in the United States. Their odds of being deported have dwindled significantly: President Joe Biden is deporting just one illegal alien for every 100 who cross the southern border.

Senators Blackburn, Hagerty: Biden Can Cut Violent Crime by Deporting All Convicted Illegal Alien Criminals
Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Bill Hagerty (R-TN) say President Joe Biden can help reduce violent crime across the United States by initiating a federal effort to deport all illegal aliens convicted of crimes.
On Wednesday, Blackburn and Hagerty sent Biden a letter urging him to deploy wartime federal resources to major American cities to assist with an ongoing violent crime wave.
A critical component that Biden can take executively, Blackburn and Hagerty wrote, is carrying out a large-scale effort to deport all illegal aliens convicted of crimes who continue living in the U.S.

The Administration should support law enforcement in the United States by detaining and deporting all illegal aliens who have been convicted of a criminal offense in the United States. In fiscal year 2021, Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested more than 12,000 illegal aliens with aggravated felony convictions. [Emphasis added]
An all-time record number of illegal border crossers entered our country last year. Yet, on August 7, 2022, every Democrat senator voted against a measure to detain and deport a greater number of illegal aliens who have been convicted of a criminal offense in the United States. The President implementing a clear policy that entering the United States illegally and then committing crimes here will not be tolerated would go a long way toward reversing this dangerous tolerance of conduct that endangers American communities. Such a deportation effort is widely supported by American adults. A Pew Research Center survey shows that 57 percent of Americans say increasing deportations of illegal aliens is “very” or “somewhat” important to a larger federal immigration agenda.
Those who support increasing deportations include 50 percent of conservative-to-moderate Democrats and about 25 percent of self-described liberals.
Despite the popularity of more deportations for illegal aliens, Biden has drastically cut the number of illegal aliens being deported each year thanks to his so-called “sanctuary country” orders at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.
Before Biden’s orders were implemented, from October 1, 2020, to February 2, 2021, ICE agents were deporting about 121 illegal aliens every day from the U.S. interior including about ten illegal aliens classified as “aggravated felons.”
After Biden’s orders went into effect, from February 18, 2021, to September 30, 2021, deportations from the U.S. interior dropped 46 percent to just 65 deportations a day.
“We’ve got to make the world understand, we’ve got to make America understand that this is urgent,” Hagerty said.
Most recently, an illegal alien was arrested for drunk driving after having been wanted for child sexual abuse charges in Kansas. Though he had been previously ordered deported, he never was. In a separate case, a previously deported illegal alien in Alabama was charged with murdering a mother and son while keeping a girl hostage in his home.
