Biden’s Day One Actions Haunt Him Still
Column: The president blunders from one self-inflicted crisis to the next
President Joe Biden was outraged on October 5 when the oil-and-gas cartel OPEC+ announced that it would cut production by two million barrels of oil per day. He had reason to be angry. The dis was personal. And the move has global implications. OPEC+ includes Russia, and rising oil prices will help Vladimir Putin, undermine Europe’s ability to keep the lights on, and reduce food supply in the Global South. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and National Economic Council director Brian Deese released a joint statement slamming the decision as "shortsighted" and harmful for "lower- and middle-income countries that are already reeling from elevated energy prices."
Yet the White House’s true worry is domestic. Here is how you can tell: Sullivan and Deese mentioned Ukraine only once in their 311-word missive. But they brought up the proverbial gas "pump" twice and U.S. "gas prices" three times. President Biden has been around long enough to understand the special relationship between fuel prices and presidential job approval. He’s incensed that OPEC+ may have helped the Republican opposition weeks before the midterm election.
Biden really ought to look in the mirror. The OPEC+ embarrassment was the latest reminder that he, not Putin nor Saudi Arabia, is the chief author of the Democratic Party’s current woes. On issue after issue, the instructions that Biden gave at the outset of his presidency have made America less prosperous, less independent, and less secure.
Energy and immigration tell the tale. Biden signed 17 executive orders on his first day in office, and two of them dealt with U.S. oil and gas production. One order pledged that America would rejoin the Paris climate accords and commit to the deal’s targeted reductions in carbon dioxide emissions. The other order blocked oil and gas exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, forbade drilling in large parts of Utah, and canceled the Keystone XL pipeline between the United States and Canada. One week later, Biden stopped issuing new oil and gas leases on public lands.
Biden knew what he was doing. The "clean energy transition," as Sullivan and Deese put it, is among the top priorities of the Democratic Party. The transition involves hiking the cost of carbon-based energy to the point where renewable alternatives become affordable by comparison. You decrease supply of oil and gas until prices rise enough for the average consumer to search online for a Tesla.
Retail gas prices rose steadily between Election Day 2020 and June 2022. Midway through his first year in office, Biden’s energy-dampening regulations contributed to and interacted with the general price inflation he mistakenly assumed to be "temporary." The president panicked. Rather than confront the green crusaders who fund his party, he opened the spigots of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) and pleaded with OPEC+, especially with America’s Persian Gulf allies, to increase production. Gas prices fell between June and September. They settled where they were earlier this year and have ticked upward since.
Biden’s strategy of dependence has run aground. The SPR has been drained to its lowest level since 1984. OPEC+ has told Biden no. The nuclear deal with Iran is in limbo as the mullahs fend off the most significant challenge to their rule in years. And a Wall Street Journal report that the administration was looking into easing sanctions on Nicolas Maduro’s Venezuela so that Chevron could increase output brought jeers from Republicans and a hurried denial from the White House.
Biden’s regulations and restrictions accomplished what he wanted: more expensive oil and gas. His problem is that voters do not want the future the climate Cassandras have in store for them. Voters blame him for the inflation they encounter as commuters and consumers. He can’t go back in time to his early days at 1600 Pennsylvania any more than he can betray the progressive base of his party. He’s left to stew in a crisis of his own making.
The southern border has left him in a similar situation. On day one, Biden stopped construction of the border wall, ended restrictions on migration from 13 countries associated with national-security threats (the so-called Muslim ban), reduced the scope of interior immigration enforcement, and protected special classes of illegal immigrants, including Dreamers. He began the process of ending the "Remain in Mexico" policy, whereby applicants for asylum in the United States had to wait elsewhere until their claims were decided. He terminated "safe third country" agreements—which mandate that asylum seekers must apply for protection in the first place they reach before making their way to the U.S. border—with El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.
The consequences have been massive. U.S. Customs and Border Protection apprehended more than two million migrants at the southern border in fiscal year 2022, the most in history. That number outpaced the previous record of 1.72 million set during the prior fiscal year. Remember: These are the illegal immigrants the government knows about. There have been an estimated 600,000 "gotaways"—individuals who evade apprehension—this fiscal year alone.
It will take generations for the legal, social, and economic effects of Biden’s policies to run their course. The immigration and asylum systems are overwhelmed, long past the point where they can function as intended. Violent criminals, narco-traffickers, and human-traffickers cross the border with impunity. The families and single men and women fleeing to the United States in search of a better life are easy prey for cartels, coyotes, and the vicissitudes of nature. It’s a humanitarian disaster that affects frontline communities in Texas and Arizona, where schools, hospitals, and municipal services are stretched beyond capacity. Recently the emergency has spilled over into deep blue enclaves such as New York City and Washington, D.C.
Biden has tried to distance himself from the border crisis. He barely discusses it. His fall girl—excuse me, the head of his "Root Causes Strategy"—is Vice President Kamala Harris. In an interview with Meet the Press last month, she made the ridiculous statement that "the border is secure." Maybe she should talk to the Venezuelans that Governor Greg Abbott (R., Texas) keeps dropping off outside her house.
Very soon, Biden will be confronted with the political fallout from choices he made in January 2021. The October 3 Monmouth poll found that 82 percent of Americans say inflation is extremely or very important. Biden’s approval on inflation is 30 percent. According to Monmouth, 67 percent of Americans say immigration is extremely or very important. Biden’s approval on immigration is 31 percent. "A major problem for Democrats," poll director Patrick Murray said in a release, "is their base messaging doesn’t hold as much appeal for independents as the GOP issue agenda does."
How could it? You just can’t wave away the reaction to stagflation and unchecked immigration. You must deal with them realistically and pragmatically. For Biden, that means revisiting his first day in office and making up for past mistakes. Before voters make a correction of their own.

"Exit Stage Lost" must be the final command regularly displayed on Joe Biden's teleprompter because the senile old stooge always wanders around aimlessly after mumbling through any public remarks. I'm guessing it's his speechwriters' way of gently prodding: "Now go along and play with your toys while the adults take care of important business." Although, given how perplexed Biden always appears and how intensely he seems to be searching for something invisible to everyone else, perhaps the teleprompter-in-chief flashes: "Tag, you're it; now go find Corn Pop hiding in the bushes."
Obama couldn't speak coherently without a teleprompter, and Biden can't speak coherently even with a teleprompter. Many historians have opined that Franklin Delano Roosevelt could never have become president nearly a century ago — let alone have served as the White House's longest occupant — had American voters known he was confined to a wheelchair. With a compliant press doing his bidding well before the age of television, though, most Americans were none the wiser. Here and today, however, Biden's prolific public struggles in performing simple tasks are visible for all to see, and no reasonable person could observe and not conclude that the faux president is in severe mental decline. Still, the press is completely silent about this unfolding catastrophe and goes to outrageous lengths to cover up and even justify his most absurd deficiencies. It is as if we were all watching FDR wheeling himself around the Rose Garden, and the mainstream media are delightfully cheering, "What an incredibly fit jogger the president still is!" The more the press pretends not to know what's going on, the more obvious it is to the average American that Soviet-style propaganda has taken over the United States.

Even when Jill Biden walked through those doors, we thought that a 70-year-old, middle-class, White lady, if not stylish, would at least be blandly unexceptional. How wrong we were. Although it’s hard to fathom, Jill may well be the worst-dressed First Lady in American History. It’s not just that she too often wears clothes unsuited to a woman her age (“mutton dressed as lamb” is not a compliment); it’s also that, as one hilarious Twitter thread shows, she wears clothes that are better suited for furniture.
Michelle Obama, with her, um, husky build, had a challenge finding flattering clothes but she did try. Most of her clothes were unexceptional, although she sometimes forgot that she represented the American people. The Democrat media, in conjunction with their allies in the polling industry, have driven the false narrative that the Democrats are likely to defy both history and their historically awful record and do fairly well in the midterms, particularly in Senate races.
To borrow a word from Mr. 10%, this has always been malarkey. We go through this same dance every cycle where the polls miraculously start to shift towards the Republicans in the last month, as polling outfits grudgingly start moving towards something resembling reality to avoid copious amounts of eggs on their face.
But, even at that, the polls during this cycle are likely the worst we’ve ever seen and the fault lies more with the administration than the polling industry. There is simply no way to accurately capture voting percentages when broad swaths of the country are hiding their views.
The alignment of the Democrat media, academia, the leftist government bureaucracy, social media, and entertainment industry into a cultural Death Star aimed at Republicans birthed the concept of the “shy” voters. In 2016, this phenomenon helped to explain how Republicans, to include President Trump, overperformed their polls.
But a lot has changed since 2016. Where voters might have once had concerns about how they would be perceived, they now know that the government and its cultural flying monkey minions view them as the enemy. The scales have fallen from their eyes. So, the shy voter has been replaced by the smart voter who has seen far too much evidence that the government is out to get him, or at least to monitor and silence him.
This noxious government has been leveraging all its resources and ideological allies to run both a terror campaign and a silencing campaign that would make some of history’s worst authoritarians blush.
The complete political weaponization of all the government agencies enabled the terror campaign, aimed squarely at even the most peaceful conservatives. Americans have watched Gestapo-like FBI raids and arrests against peaceful Christian pro-life protestors, complete with drawn guns and handcuffs, and have seen the FBI mobilized to intimidate concerned parents attending school board meetings. How many times in a week do Americans now say, “I never thought I’d see something like that in this country?”
They’ve seen January 6 protestors literally erased from society, thrown into cesspool-like prisons with no sense of due process, where they have been so mistreated that they’ve asked to be transferred to Guantanamo.
Conservative Americans know that nobody who draws the eye of Sauron will walk away unscathed even if they ultimately prevail in court, forced to spend all their time and resources trying to defend themselves against the tyrannical state. Even where the government and its handmaidens can’t use sympathetic judges and venues to destroy innocent lives, they will use the process to punish to send a very clear message.
Military members have been forced to sit through reeducation lectures and meetings on extremism in which a sizable number of the participants understood that the powers that be were far more concerned with them than any foreign terrorist or enemy state. Americans have watched as their family and friends have been fired for refusing to assent to tyranny.
They also watched the administration wink and nod at leftist violence, even when it threatened the lives of sitting Supreme Court justices. They watched an unprecedented political raid on a former president, meant to send the message that if even a president is not safe, imagine how easily we can go after you.
And, of course, they saw Mr. 10%’s fiery speech that appeared to be delivered from the gates of Hell where he demonized at least half of the country to such an extent that you could be forgiven if you thought you were watching Uncle Joe Stalin instead of Uncle Joe Biden, media-heralded uniter. It was the worst speech ever delivered by a U.S. president.
Americans grimaced when a government that hates them funded an army of 87,000 additional IRS agents to join the campaign. No matter how the administration spins that decision, Americans know that these agents are intended to be a brutal and terrifying weapon that will be wielded against them.
This intimidation campaign won’t stop conservatives from voting. If anything, it adds fuel to the fire. But it will result in many Americans taking a cautious view on talking to pollsters, regardless of how pollsters frame the questions.
The terror campaign has been aided by the parallel silencing campaign that has left very few conservatives untouched. Many Americans’ lives have been impacted directly by the silence campaign. Social media has become a “no conservative voices allowed” zone. My Twitter account was permanently banned with no reason given.
Clarice Feldman observed, “I do not know of a single conservative poster on Facebook right now who has not received warnings, had posts blocked, have had their feeds restricted until well after the midterms, or were outright banned.”
Because most people only see clearly what is happening to themselves, they don’t realize how universal the silencing campaign has been or how many people it has touched. But, far too many Americans have become conditioned to be very careful on sharing any opinion that isn’t approved by the leftist cultural commissars. They suspect they are being monitored and watched.
While the Obama administration put most of the tools in place, no administration in American history has so demonized and attacked Americans as this one. These intimidation and silencing campaigns make it impossible to accurately poll. Far too many Americans will not take part. While some polling companies are obviously better than others in finding ways to account for the missing voters, I don’t think even well-intentioned pollsters will be able to get the full picture within such a hostile environment.
The polls that are most valuable avoid mention of candidates and focus on less controversial issues. One worth noting was a recent Gallup poll in which 48% of Americans believe the Republican Party is best equipped to handle the issue most important to them, versus 37% who believed it was the Democrat party. While even a poll like this likely suffers from undersampling conservatives, it is a better snapshot of the current environment than candidate-based surveys, which can be more easily twisted into accusations of extremist “wrongthink.”
That number has to terrify Democrats, who always benefit from oversampling. That is an 11% gap -- the kind of result that would be expected to produce some major surprises, which adds to my expectation that the Republicans will significantly outperform polls in the House while scooping up almost all the competitive Senate seats.
There is a noticeable lack of enthusiasm on the Left. Driving the streets around my Northern Virginia neighborhood, I see no Jennifer Wexton signs, where normally the Democrat candidate’s signs would dot the landscape by now next to the ironic “hate has no home here” signs. The race in my district, which isn’t even on the national radar, is going to be far closer than expected, and it would not surprise me a bit if underdog Republican Hung Cao, who would be a great congressman, wins that race.
In this environment where polls are likely to be so far off, I don’t think races that show a Republican up by a point or two (North Carolina, Wisconsin) are competitive. I also expect Republicans to win in Nevada, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arizona, and Georgia, and maybe even in New Hampshire, Colorado, and Washington. We will see how the polls magically “shift” over the next month, but I believe that any Democrat Senate candidate who is not ahead by at least four points come election day is in deep trouble.
When all is said and done, the Democrat media and political class will be left to figure out what went wrong, and how waging rhetorical and actual war on over half of the country was perhaps not the best strategy.

As the crisis at the southern border becomes a political liability for her husband, first lady Jill Biden (Ed.D.) promoted a private school run by a Democratic donor that advises illegal immigrants on how to avoid arrest.
Biden visited El Centro Academy in Kansas City, Kan., on Tuesday at the request of Rep. Sharice Davids (D., Kan.), according to El Centro president and CEO Irene Caudillo, who has made political contributions to both Davids and the Biden campaign. El Centro's nonprofit arm dabbles in more than reading, writing, and arithmetic. It has published a series of videos that instruct illegal immigrants on how to avoid arrest from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. One video, for example, advises viewers to ignore ICE agents altogether during an interaction and contact "a member of the community who does have status." Caudillo also worked with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce to create "safe spaces" for immigrants by prohibiting local cooperation with ICE to "protect residents from deportation."
Biden's visit comes as her husband's administration scrambles to deal with an unprecedented border crisis. The number of illegal crossings at the southern border is at a multi-decade high, with law enforcement expected to report nearly two million migrant encounters in fiscal year 2021. The Biden administration in September announced new rules that limit ICE's ability to arrest and deport illegal immigrants.
First lady Biden, who was joined by Small Business Administration head Isabel Guzman, publicly embraced El Centro as the perfect site for a "charla"—Spanish for "chat"—with Hispanic community members. She thanked the academy "for all you do" in a Tuesday tweet. The White House did not return a request for comment. Caudillo told the Washington Free Beacon she did not discuss immigration with Biden and "shared our El Centro story privately with her."
In addition to Caudillo's illegal immigration advocacy, El Centro has received substantial funding from UnidosUS, a liberal immigration group that has defended teaching critical race theory in K-12 schools, calling the controversial curriculum "a truthful retelling of our nation's history." Caudillo also serves on the board of Revolucion Educativa, an affiliate of the Kansas City, Mo.-based Latinx Education Collaborative that has promoted critical race theory as an "important" framework to include in middle and high schools.
The affiliation could present a political liability for Davids. While the Kansas State Board of Education has contended that critical race theory "is not part of Kansas academic standards," one district in the state scrapped a planned diversity training after local parents argued it included critical race theory teachings.
Davids herself faced criticism in August after she endorsed a list of books from a self-described "radical" book publisher. Several of the titles are considered critical race theory resources, including Black Lives Matter at School, The Anti-Racist Writing Workshop: How to Decolonize the Creative Classroom, How Capitalism Underdeveloped Black America, and From #Black Lives Matter to Black Liberation.
Davids did not return a request for comment.
Biden has looked to distance herself from the ongoing border crisis in the past after reports emerged in HuffPost and other media outlets that the first lady planned to take a leading role in a "task force to reunite separated immigrant families." In March, the first lady's office insisted she had "no formal role" in the administration's efforts. Biden will, however, have a formal role in the White House's political operations—the first lady is set to stump for Terry McAuliffe in Virginia on Friday as Democrats look to avoid a high-profile gubernatorial loss in a state they won by double digits in 2020.
Chip Roy Calls on Republicans to ‘Go on Offense,’ Warns Democrats ‘Want to Kill Our Country’
Republicans should “go on offense” and “lead,” according to Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), who urged them to “go out in full force to get every Republican elected running against a Democrat,” while warning that “Democrats want to kill our country,” and the Biden administration is “at war with the American people.”
Speaking with conservative commentator Dan Bongino on his eponymous radio show on Thursday, Roy lamented the reality that “Republicans, unfortunately, have too often cowered in the corner, wringing their hands about ‘shutdowns.’”
By contrast, Roy suggested Republicans “stop accepting the rhetoric of the left in the media [and] instead, go on offense.”
“Why on earth would I be taking taxpayer money, borrowing money and printing money, to fund a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that is purposely allowing cartels to control our border and fentanyl to come in and kill Americans?” he asked. “That’s the question to ask.”
Instead, Roy called to “turn it on its head and say ‘I will only fund a Department of Homeland Security that will actually secure the border, stop the flow, empower Americans — not cartels, and stop the fentanyl pouring into our country.’”
According to Roy, only a DHS fulfilling those duties has his support.
“Now I’m on board,” he said. “I’ll fund that, but I’m not going to fund the other.”
“That’s not ‘shutdown,’” he explained. “That’s not, ‘Oh, I’m walking away from my responsibility.’”
The Texas congressman asserted that an ideal DHS “will only take taxpayer money and use it for the good of the taxpayer and to carry out the constitutional duty for which [it] was hired.”
Claiming it is “not a hard concept” to grasp, Roy stated that his efforts were beginning to succeed.
“We are starting to see some success,” he said. “We gotta keep beating the drum. Not one more penny.”
Being a subject “we’ve been talking about [for] the last two months,” Roy highlighted the importance to “keep saying it.”
“We gotta keep browbeating Republicans because, look, I’m 100 percent on board with getting Republicans elected between now and November 8,” he said.
“Democrats want to kill our country, but on November 9 it is wake-up day for Republicans and they better gird their loins because we are going to hold Republicans accountable to fight for the American people,” he added.
Warning of today’s Democratic “terms,” Roy, 50, urged voters to “go out in full force to get every Republican elected running against a Democrat.”
“If you’re a Democrat running today on the Democratic ticket, you are accepting the terms of this administration and accepting the terms of [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi to be at war with the American people,” he said.
“You are not aligned with our values. You are not aligned with the Constitution. You are not in any way for limited government, free enterprise, our faith in the Lord Almighty, and allowing the American people to prosper,” he added.
The Texas representative also asserted that he wanted “as big a majority as we can have,” as he called to elect Republicans, explaining that he does not “accept the premise that these [moderate Republicans] who run in so-called purple districts… that the right way to do that is to cave.”
Drawing from his own personal experience, Roy recalled that when he ran two years ago against Democrat Wendy Davis in Austin, TX, he succeeded despite having a “tighter” district:
I ran hardcore as a conservative, unabashedly, unapologetically, and we won by seven points. We outperformed President Trump. We had lots of people enthusiastically supporting us, even some liberals that were like, ‘You know, I don’t always agree with you, but I appreciate that you stand up for what you believe in.’
Rep. Roy concluded by calling on Republicans to “lead” instead of being led.
“You gotta lead, damn it!” he exclaimed.
“Get up and stand up for something and stand up for America and people will follow,” he added.
Roy’s comments come as the Biden administration continues to pander to progressives as it adopts more extreme, far-left policies, and as support for the current presidency continues to drop.
On Friday, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) said that everything President Joe Biden touches “has gone to garbage.”
“I would say Joe Biden is gaslighting, but I’m not sure anyone can afford gas anymore,” he added.
Last month, Roy accused House Democrats of looking to protect their allies in the federal bureaucracy — who “should be jailed for their tyranny” — making them more difficult to fire and less accountable to the American people.
In August, he pledged to end proxy voting, along with IRS agents, FBI agents abusing their authority, and those at the DHS who have attacked Border Patrol agents, should Republicans take back Congress.
In July, the congressman warned that America is “under invasion” as Americans are dying while cartels continue to profit.
He also slammed the Biden administration’s open border policies and accused the “MIA” Democrats of not caring about the impact of such policies on Americans and migrants alike.

The Democrats Wrecked My Retirement
If you're fortunate enough to lead a reasonably normal American life, things go something like this: you go through school and graduate from either high school or college, somewhere in the middle of the class. You get a job, move out on your own, and meet your eventual spouse. You marry, have a family, and work at a series of jobs to support yourself and others. With any luck, you like (or at least tolerate) your chosen profession and derive a reasonable degree of satisfaction from having done pretty well. Then, at some point in your 60s, you retire, with the expectation that your so-called golden years will be a 15- or 20-year span characterized by decent health; minimal financial pressures and obligations; and a general enjoyment of a more relaxed, leisurely pace. Maybe there will be a few long-delayed material indulgences thrown in. What the heck — you've earned those, right? This is all the retirement that any of us really wants.
This describes me fairly well. After having spent my working career in the consumer electronics and musical instrument industries in marketing, product development, and engineering management, I retired two years ago. (By the way — if you need someone to design some killer new speakers for your stereo rig or play smokin' jazz drums at your daughter's wedding, I'm your guy.) I was really looking forward to relaxing and enjoying my retirement, but the Democrats have ruined those plans. I only get one retirement — just this one — and the Democrats have wrecked it.
Since I retired in 2020, this is what has happened, all courtesy of the Democrats:
COVID
Whether it was a legitimate mistake from sloppy lab practices in Wuhan or a deliberate plot by Communist China to upset the Western world or something else altogether, it descended upon the world like a ton of bricks dropped from the back of a huge construction dump truck. Worldwide panic ensued. The Democrats, utterly horrified that everything — everything — was going so well under President Trump that he'd easily win re-election that year, took advantage of the COVID scare to rewrite the presidential election voting procedures and execute their elaborately designed fraud plans. Drop boxes, mail-in/absentee ballots that weren't cross-checked for proper signature ID, Democrat state legislatures illegally changing the voting deadlines to make post-election vote manipulation that much easier, etc. — all manner of voting fraud was committed under the guise of "COVID" and "public safety." That ruse, the most blatant, damaging election gambit in American history, gave us this blitheringly incompetent, ideologically driven Biden administration.
Inflation
Biden printed billions of dollars to spread around and bribe voters, calling it "COVID relief," and paid people to stay home and not work. Now, under Biden, we have 8–9% inflation and a labor participation rate that is the lowest it's been since the 1970s. Prices are out of sight. The supply chain has collapsed, and shortages of household staples have become so commonplace that it's just an accepted way of life in 2022. The administration puts forth an abomination deceitfully labeled the "Inflation Reduction Act," knowing there is not one single thing in that bill that is intended to reduce inflation. Now the Fed is raising interest rates to try to calm inflation. In order for that to work, it has to crush consumer demand so suppliers will reduce their pricing in order to entice a weak and shrinking pool of customers to buy something. Nice going, Joe. My favorite salad dressing is hardly available these days because of supply shortages, and when I can find it, it's nearly double in price.
Shut Down Oil/Gas Industry
On Day One, Biden cut the legs out from under American energy independence. Oil, gasoline, and natural gas prices skyrocketed. Why did the administration do this? Because they think it's cool and woke to be Green. The Squad likes Green, and the administration wants to be "in" with that ilk and with the extreme voters who support that. Green energy and renewables can't come close to supporting our energy needs and won't for the foreseeable future. Remember, Biden, Pelosi, Kerry, Obama, Gore, etc., etc. — none of them lives by Green rules. But they expect you to. All I know is, now that I'm a retiree, gasoline has gone from $2.11/gallon to $3.76/gallon. And it'll be back over $4.00/gallon shortly, as soon as Biden's game-playing with the Strategic Petroleum Reserve runs out of tricks. And we just got a letter from our electric company — in November, the rate per/kWh will double. Double, just like that, for no reason. Bad enough as a retiree. Good thing I don't own a small business operating on a tight margin, like a restaurant or bakery or hair salon.
Unstable Foreign Policy
Biden is a weak, befuddled old man, clearly not in any semblance of control of his rapidly diminishing faculties. You can practically hear our overseas adversaries licking their chops as they run roughshod over the remaining elements of proper international behavior and decorum, totally confident that the frighteningly senile Biden will not do anything to oppose them. Would Putin have invaded Ukraine and be threatening the world with nuclear war were President Trump still in office? Would Communist China be saber-rattling over Taiwan? Would North Korea have resumed test-firing ballistic missiles? Would Iran be shamelessly flaunting its nuclear progress? Of course not.
All of the above has so rattled the investment markets (the Democrats can't fool the markets with their bogus smoke and mirrors) that the major indices have lost trillions (with a "T") of dollars in value. Retirement accounts are in a shambles. Two short years ago, things looked great. Now there's a financial/investment canyon that will likely take ten years to recover from. People in their mid- to late 50s will have to work much longer than they planned. New retirees feel as if the rug has been pulled out from beneath them.
I'm just like millions of other Americans: I played by the rules, I worked hard for forty-plus years, I did right by my family, and I was a solid member of my community. All I wanted was the modest retirement I had planned for. But the Democrats wrecked it. On purpose, and I'm mad as can be.

Running the World into the Ground
The actions of the people who are in charge of governments are supposed to benefit the countries they serve -- in theory, at least. In practice, the opposite is true. In the West, our leaders are destroying everything they can get their hands on.
This is certainly an apt description of the Biden/Harris administration. They inherited a healthy country from President Trump. The economy was taking off, inflation was practically nonexistent, the U.S. was energy independent for the first time in decades, and the border was closed. So what did Biden do? He immediately set out to reverse everything Trump achieved.
Who can claim to be better off under Biden? The economy has tanked, inflation is at a 40-year high, people can’t afford to heat their homes or fill up their cars with gas, crime statistics are off the charts, and confidence in America is at an all-time low. Biden’s open-border policy, which is opposed by a majority of American citizens, is leading to social unrest and economic chaos. A country without a functioning border is not a country, yet that is where Biden has taken us.
America is marching toward totalitarianism as Biden empowers the DoJ and FBI to go after his political opponents, i.e., at least half of the population. His worst offense, however, is following the climate dictates of the World Economic Forum. Biden is torpedoing the robust U.S. economy in service of a totally false assumption -- that human beings are able to change the planet’s climate. He is raising taxes so that billions of your dollars can be wasted on ridiculous anti-fossil fuel projects.
Biden has declared war on the energy industry in the name of global warming. He wants us to believe that oil, gas, and coal are killing the planet. What is the result of his climate policy so far? “Harvesting of fuel was cut back drastically,” explained Bill O’Reilly, “and that caused the price of oil worldwide to rise, and that caused the price of gas at the pump to rise, and that lit inflation, as all other goods went up in price as well because they are trucked in to the stores and businesses. That is all on President Biden.”
First, human beings are incapable of controlling the climate, which operates in cycles and always has since the planet was created. Second, our economy is dependent on fossil fuels, and -- contrary to the lies fed by the administration -- fossil fuel alternatives do not exist, and will not exist in the foreseeable future.
Climate Change Business Journal quantified the cost to the U.S. of the green agenda at a whopping $1.5 trillion per year. That is the equivalent of economic suicide. And what do we get for this waste of time, money, and effort? Danish environmentalist Bjorn Lomborg calculates that even if every nation in the world adheres to its climate change commitments -- which they won’t, by the end of the century it will reduce the world’s temperatures by a mere 1/20th of a degree. In other words, the quality of our lives is going to plummet based on a monumental hoax.
If Biden gets away with his green policy, it will play right into Obama’s socialist dream of fundamentally transforming America. Under the guise of responding to climate change, the Left wants to take what we have and redistribute it to the Third World even if it means crippling the U.S. economy. Rampant crime, insane immigration policy, assault on individual rights, suicidal climate dictates -- Americans are being sold out by the politicians in charge, who happen to be members of the Democratic Party.
Now let’s talk about our friends in Europe. The criminal politicians who are in charge on the other side of the Atlantic are no better than their American counterparts. Europe’s social fabric was destroyed when Angela Merkel decided to open Germany’s borders to an onslaught of immigrants from the Middle East and Africa, most of whom are either unwilling or unable to assimilate into European culture. Other countries followed Merkel’s deranged example. The appalling result is that France, the U.K., Holland, Belgium, Denmark, and Sweden are on the verge of civil war as they struggle to deal with hostile Muslim newcomers.
The takeover of Europe by Islam was predicted by Mark Steyn in his 2008 book, America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It. “What happens,” Steyn asked, “when a Western world so in thrall to platitudes about boundless ‘tolerance’ allows the forces of intolerance to carve it out from the inside? Much of the Western world is engaged in an act of auto-genocide, and Islam will be the immediate beneficiary.” European politicians have opened the doors to people who are opposed to the Western way of life and whose mission is to stamp it out.
On the economic front, European leaders have, like Biden in the U.S., succumbed to the delusional World Economic Forum. In a mad rush to eliminate reliance on fossil fuels, European economies are going into the winter without adequate energy supplies. The poor citizens of the continent are being told to anticipate blackouts and food shortages. They are about to discover that without fossil fuels, their way of life is going to hell.
What recourse do we voters have against the irresponsibility of political leaders who are obsessed with the lure of power? Is it too late to stop them? In the U.S., we have the possibility of Republican resurgence in the 2022 and 2024 elections. We need Donald Trump or someone like him to execute a return to sane policymaking. I’m counting on it. The alternative is just too bloody awful.

Emoting and Oprahfying, Jill Biden leaves out a few details about her divorce
Jill Biden is racking up a pretty impressive record as a hypocrite.
This time, the topic is her divorce. While taking in a softball interview from ace investigative interviewer Kelly Clarkson, otherwise known as a second-rate celebrity with personal problems, she started emoting to Clarkson on the topic of Clarkson's divorce:
Citing her late mother’s advice, she tells Clarkson things happen for a reason. She also says her divorce freed her to meet Joe Biden and have a family with him.
“My mother always said to me things are going to look better, tomorrow,” Jill Biden said, encouraging Clarkson to “take one day at a time, and things will get better.”
’I look back on it now, and I think, you know, if I hadn’t gotten divorced, I never would have met Joe,” she continued. “I wouldn’t have the beautiful family I have now. So I really think things happen for the best and I think, Kelly, over time, I don’t know how long it’s been for you, but I think, over time, you heal, and you’re going to be surprised and I can’t wait until that day comes for you.”
She never would have met Joe? Her ex-husband recalls things differently. According to the New York Post, reporting last August 2020:
Jill Biden's ex-husband has accused the potential first lady of having an affair with Joe Biden and says they lied about how they met in the 1970s, according to a bombshell new report.
Bill Stevenson on Monday accused the presumptive Democratic nominee of being a home-wrecker and says the feel-good story of how Joe and Jill met on a blind date is completely made up, the Daily Mail reported.
"I don't want to hurt anyone," said Stevenson, now 72, who is working on a book that includes the lurid claim. "But facts are facts and what happened, happened."
Stevenson and his then-wife grew close to Biden in 1972 while working on his first campaign to represent Delaware in the US Senate.
As I noted at the time:
The account says that Stevenson first suspected an affair in 1974. But the pair "grew close" during his 1972 Senate political campaign, which predated the crash. Was Biden sneaking around on Neilia even then? There was a distinct possibility of it, given that the affair was secret.
This, if true, would suggest that maybe he didn't like Neilia as much as he claims to have liked Neilia. Worse still, did he breathe a sigh of relief that she was gone without a divorce? Maybe someone should ask.
Far from Jill meeting Joe serendipitously, the pair had apparently been sneaking around. Like the swingers of the early '70s. Nobody knows how she really felt when divorce was called, the most likely sense would have probably been 'good ridddance.'
She's a cold calculating political creature posing as the queen of compassion. She's targeting the pop press, to better reach the low-information voters. Now she's putting out a phony story, for her and her husband's own benefit. Apparently, she does this sort of political work a lot. When a key was made for one of Hunter Biden's foundation offices in Washington, the give-to list included a China state-linked business executive pal and ... Jill Biden. She knows what she is doing.
Anyone ask her about the teachers' unions keeping schools closed? She's made much hay billing herself as a teacher.
Meanwhile, the ex-husband says he's writing a book about this so-called 'devout Catholic' who eventually became his ex. If he does, the sleazy history of the Bidens will once again come into the fore.

Apparently, Hunter Biden’s life was even more sordid than we knew
I’m sure that there are some Americans, somewhere, who voted for Joe Biden because the media assured them that Joe is an honest, decent family man – all of which is patently untrue. Because they were unaware that the only thing “abnormal” about the Trump administration was the relentless attacks from the Democrat party and the media (but I repeat myself), they thought Biden would bring an era of peace and even honor. No wonder, then, that the media and the tech tyrants corrupted the election by quashing any reports about Biden’s sleazy son Hunter. And now, it turns out that Hunter was even worse than we realized.
Those people who paid attention to conservative media outlets and learned of Hunter Biden’s laptop, knew that Hunter Biden functioned as a conduit by which foreign governments, most notably Ukraine and China, funneled millions of dollars to the “Big Guy,” aka then-Vice President Joe Biden. They also knew that Hunter Biden is one of the sleaziest men in America.
It was public knowledge that Hunter Biden was a crack cocaine addict which had resulted in his being booted from the Navy, that he’d had an affair with his sister-in-law after his brother died from cancer, that he impregnated a stripper, and that he refused to pay for his children and, instead, married another woman. The media rather successfully dressed all this up in the story of a troubled young man trying to make good.
What the laptop revealed, in addition to the Biden family cartel, is that Hunter’s personal life was even worse than anyone realized. A Taiwanese outlet made public videos showing Hunter, a man with a foot fetish, smoking crack and cavorting with multiple women. Additionally, tweets on the computer indicated that the women in Hunter’s life worried about him and underage girls. In this regard, Hunter must take after his father who has been shown in endless video footage fondling and nuzzling little girls. It doesn’t matter to me if that public behavior is the only and worst thing Joe Biden does to little girls. It’s sufficient to make him a creep and a pervert.
It turns out, though, that Hunter’s unutterably sleazy sex life was even worse than those paying attention knew back in 2020. Get a gander at this Daily Mail headline: “EXCLUSIVE: Hunter Biden was living with his brother Beau's widow Hallie while sending raunchy texts and FaceTiming in the shower with her married SISTER as they declared their love and she called him her ‘prince’”
You can read all the sordid details in the Daily Mail. For now, I’ll just quote from the bullet points at the top of the article:
· Hunter Biden began dating his late brother Beau's widow, Hallie Biden, shortly after Beau died of brain cancer in 2015
· The unconventional relationship was first exposed in March 2017 with Joe Biden issuing a statement giving his blessing to the couple
· DailyMail.com can reveal Hunter was also exchanging sexual text messages with Hallie's then-married sister Elizabeth Secundy around that time
· In a 2016 text conversation recovered from his abandoned laptop hard drive, Hunter offered to teach Secundy 'how to masturbate'
· Secundy, 49, who was married to husband Joel Secundy, referred to Hunter as her 'prince' and told him she loved him in the texts
· Another conversation showed Hunter texted Secundy telling her he had been up late watching 'bad porno movies like I'm 13'
· Secundy separated from her husband and father of her three children in 2015 after 15 years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized three years later
What’s really baffling is Hunter’s success with women. Despite being a total loser with a terrible drug habit and some weird sexual perversions, Hunter managed to seduce his brother’s widow, her sister, a stripper, and the woman he married, all over the course of four years. It’s enough to make one think that Hunter’s charm had less to do with the man himself and more with the benefits flowing from the Biden family cartel.
The American people knew what they were getting with Trump: A flamboyant man who had sown his wild oats, raised five extremely successful children, and loved America. Naïve American people had no idea what they were getting with Biden: A senile, corrupt, debauched old man with a son who was a conduit for his dirty dealings and who has a personal life so disgusting it’s hard to write about it. That’s what the American media and the tech tyrants have done to America.

Embarrassing excuse offered for Biden’s vanishing State of the Union Address
All of a sudden, here it is the end of February, and there is no State of the Union (SOTU) address scheduled for President Biden. That's odd because last month, Biden promised what sounds exactly like a SOTU:
"Next month, in my first appearance before a joint session of Congress, I will lay out my 'Build Back Better' recovery plan," he said. "It will make historic investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, innovation, and research and development in clean energy."
The AP and PBS both got wind that the address was to be given on February 23 in and said so in posts that are now deep-sixed:
But on February 16, Jen Psaki denied such a plan in a press conference:
[W]hen asked about the timing, his press secretary Jen Psaki said there had never been a plan for him to address a joint session this month.
"We don't know where the Feb. 23 date came from. It's a great mystery," she said during the regular daily briefing.
"I've not Nancy Drewed that one out today, but it was never planned to be in February, and we don't have a date for a joint session at this point," Psaki said, comparing herself to the popular character in a series of children's books who solves mysteries.
It is only tradition that a president address a joint session of Congress early in the year to fulfill the constitutional requirement (Article II, Section 3) that a POTUS "shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient[.]"
Jimmy Carter, a failed one-term president, actually skipped his in the year of his inauguration, missing an opportunity to lay out his plan for the presidency and the nation, with blanket television coverage, plus plenty of pomp and circumstance. And look what happened to him.
Yet Biden's handlers seem to have pulled the plug on the man the late Rush Limbaugh mocked as "Plugs" because of his hair transplants to forestall a receding hairline. The lickspittle media are rushing in with "fact checks" to assure the nation that there is no requirement or deadline for a SOTU speech. But it is awkward, especially considering the rising doubts about Biden's mental and physical state. Nick Arama of RedState expressed the view of many:
Let's face it. There's a big problem with having Joe try to deliver a ninety-minute speech at 9:00 p.m. at night without a teleprompter in front of Congress. He has trouble just making it through basic remarks before media for a few minutes, much less a speech of that length. They must be wracking their brains to figure out how they're going to pull it off.
As we previously reported, Biden hasn't even had a solo press conference with the media yet. By this time, both Barack Obama and Donald Trump had done solo pressers.
The excuse dredged up yesterday for missing SOTU is...you guessed it...the January 6 Capitol incursion, which the left wants to make the defining moment of the century:
The Capitol Police is keeping its security posture high in response to intelligence that indicates some extremists who joined the Jan. 6 insurrection have discussed plans to attack the building during the State of the Union, Acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman revealed Thursday.
The chatter among extremists about trying to blow up the Capitol during the still-unscheduled presidential address, Pittman said, has prompted the Capitol Police to maintain the elevated presence it has kept since last month's riot. Any decrease in the police's posture, she said, would come after the threat passes and other gaps identified in the aftermath of the Capitol siege are resolved.
While she didn't precisely blame the de-scheduling of the SOTU on "chatter among extremists," that is the logical conclusion, and it is an embarrassing one, especially considering the thousands of National Guard troops still occupying the nation's capital.
Democrats know that Biden is not all there. That's why a bunch of them want to take away the power for him to launch a nuclear strike. Just yesterday, he had to be reminded by Kamala, at a COVID event, not to go wandering up to people without wearing a mask:
