Born to Fail: Beto O’Rourke Achieves Rare Trifecta of Political Defeat
Has lost campaigns for governor, president, and U.S. Senate
Andrew Stiles • November 9, 2022 2:01 amRobert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke accomplished something remarkable on Tuesday. Though he didn't win his campaign against Gov. Greg Abbott (R., Texas), the widely anticipated loss was Beto's third failed bid for public office in as many election cycles since 2018—a trifecta of political failure.
Major networks called the race for Abbott shortly after polls closed at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. By now the feeling of defeat must be a familiar one for Beto, who lost to Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) in 2018, then ran for president in 2020 and dropped out months before the Iowa caucuses. He raised almost $200 million from Democratic donors over the course of these failed campaigns.
"Man, I'm just born to be in it," Beto told Vanity Fair in 2019 before announcing his unsuccessful candidacy for president. Former president Barack Obama was reportedly "enamored" by Beto—a fellow Ivy League graduate—in the early stages of the Democratic primary, and worried that his old running mate Joe Biden "would embarrass himself on the campaign trail."
Reporter Sara Gonzales asked Beto on Tuesday if the failed candidate would stop running for office in Texas after losing his second statewide race; he declined to answer.

Dems Blow Nearly $200 Million on Perennial Losers Beto O’Rourke, Stacey Abrams
Collin Anderson • November 9, 2022 2:08 amDemocrats spent nearly $200 million on perennial losers Beto O'Rourke and Stacey Abrams—money that failed to make their gubernatorial races against Republican incumbents competitive.
Abrams, who trailed Georgia governor Brian Kemp (R.) by 9 points with 72 percent of the vote reported Tuesday night, raised nearly $100 million between her campaign and leadership committee, state filings show. O’Rourke, meanwhile, raised $77 million and spent $72 million as of October 29—he trailed Texas governor Greg Abbott (R.) by more than 10 points with 60 percent of the vote reported. O'Rourke even broke Texas’s four-month fundraising record in July, when he raised $28 million.
Abrams's and O’Rourke’s eye-popping fundraising hauls came despite their status as high-profile losers. Abrams lost to Kemp by roughly 1.5 points in 2018, a loss she refused to concede and portrayed as "stolen" and "rigged." O’Rourke, who has said he was "just born to be in" politics, similarly lost to Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) by 2 points in 2018. O’Rourke raised $80 million in that race, which was at the time the highest amount ever raised for a U.S. Senate campaign. O’Rourke went on to run for president, a campaign he ended in November 2019 after polling in the low single digits. During his short-lived presidential bid, O’Rourke said he could not "fathom a scenario" where he would run for office again if he did not become the Democratic nominee.
Abrams and O’Rourke are far from the only Democrats who raked in money in races they lost handily. Congresswoman Val Demings’s (D.) 16-point loss to Florida senator Marco Rubio (R.) cost nearly $70 million, and only three House Democrats raised more than Georgia's Marcus Flowers, who raked in more than $15 million only to lose to Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene by a whopping 33 points.
All of that money could have been useful in states such as North Carolina, where Republican Ted Budd leads Democrat Cheri Beasley by just 4 points just before 11 p.m. Tuesday in a Senate race national liberals chose not to prioritize.
Democrats have long blown huge amounts of money on perpetual losers in longshot campaigns. Amy McGrath, for example, spent $90 million on her nearly 20-point loss to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) in 2020, which came two years after she failed to unseat Republican congressman Andy Barr. The 2020 election cycle also saw Jaime Harrison raise $109 million in his race against South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham (R.), which he lost by 10 points. Harrison quickly became Democratic National Committee chair, a role that has seen him manage the party during a disastrous midterm election.

DOJ Watchdog Investigating Soros-Backed US Attorney for Ethics Violations
Rachael Rollins may have violated rules barring government employees from political activism, outside payments
Josh Christenson • November 8, 2022 4:20 pmThe Department of Justice's inspector general is investigating a George Soros-backed U.S. attorney for violating federal ethics laws that bar government employees from political activism and accepting payments from outside groups, the Associated Press reported on Monday.
Rachael Rollins, the U.S. attorney for Massachusetts, attended a Democratic National Committee event featuring first lady Jill Biden in a Boston suburb last summer. Rollins likely violated the Hatch Act, which precludes government employees from political activism. Rollins also attended a swanky Hollywood gathering in June on a talent agency's dime, a potential ethics violation.
The Senate in December 2021 voted to confirm Rollins along party lines following a contentious hearing. Republicans opposed her confirmation on the grounds that Rollins refused to prosecute crimes such as drug dealing, theft, and property destruction. She has worked closely with a group pushing to defund police.
A Boston Herald reporter at the June fundraiser asked Rollins if her attendance violated the Hatch Act, and she claimed it did not. Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) in July requested Inspector General Michael Horowitz to investigate Rollins for her "blatant violation" of the Hatch Act.
Creative Artists Agency, a Hollywood talent agency, paid for Rollins to speak at its annual gathering in California. The Justice Department bars employees from accepting payments for travel.
The Associated Press also said investigators have obtained phone data from Rollins and some of her employees as part of the probe. Rollins reportedly used her personal phone for some federal casework, which raises security issues.
A spokeswoman for Rollins confirmed to the Associated Press that their office is "fully cooperating with the [inspector general's] investigation." Another watchdog agency, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, opened an investigation on Rollins in August following the fundraiser.
Massachusetts's Democratic attorney general opened an investigation into Rollins after she pulled over and threatened to issue a traffic citation to a motorist who she claimed cut her off in traffic. When a reporter last year asked her about the incident, Rollins threatened to call the police.
"I'll call the police on you and make an allegation and we'll see how that works with you," Rollins said. She was later cleared of wrongdoing by the attorney general's office and a state ethics commission.
Soros Wasted $2.5M on Stacey Abrams, $1M on Beto
They say Soros is a smart investor...
Congratulations to Stacey Abrams on her second term in office as president of space after her latest effort to claim victory in Georgia fell apart.
For Democrats this ought to count as a win because the midterms have likely freed them from the giant money sponges of Beto O’Rourke and Stacey Abrams in one fell swoop.
And both grifters seemed to have a limitless ability to promote themselves and burn money. Including from Evil Inc’s very own ATM.
Soros’ Democracy PAC II sent $1 million to the committee on March 11 and another $1.5 million on June 23 for a total of $2.5 million, according to the report. Karla Jurvetson, a longtime-progressive activist and donor, similarly donated a total of $2.5 million. Donald Sussman, a billionaire hedge fund manager, gave $1 million to the committee.
They say Soros is a smart investor, but maybe not so smart. This isn’t the first time he wasted a ton of money on a bad candidate. Karla Jurvetson is playing with her ex-husband’s money which she’s rapidly burning through as she buys influence.
But Soros also pumped $1M into Beto O’Rourke’s campaign.
American businessman George Soros has donated $1 million to Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke’s (D) campaign.
But that’s probably the tip of the iceberg. Soros Inc. seemed to be entangled with Stacey Inc.
Fair Fight Action’s new executive director Cianti Stewart-Reid declined to disclose the group’s donors. But POLITICO was able to identify donations from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations and the Sixteen Thirty Fund, both large and well-funded liberal organizations, based on interviews and a review of other 990 forms.
Open Society’s co-director for U.S. grants, Laleh Ispahani, said she was impressed with how “cutting-edge” Fair Fight Action was. “I was always informed about the work and I think most of their donors probably would say the same thing,” Ispahani said.
Soros may have lost money on Stacey, but somehow I suspect Stacey did well out of the deal.

“Heroin is not produced in the United States. Every gram of heroin present in the United States provides unequivocal evidence of a failure of border security because every gram of heroin was smuggled into the United States. Indeed, this is precisely a point that Attorney General Jeff Sessions made during his appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on October 18, 2017 when he again raised the need to secure the U.S./Mexican border to protect American lives.” Michael Cutler …..FrontPageMag.com
Joe Biden is on record that illegals are “already Americans,” and under Alejandro Mayorkas, the Biden Department of Homeland Security is effectively the Department of Human Trafficking. John Fonte of the Hudson Institute makes a strong case that “operational control of the border is no longer in American hands,” and under the control of Mexican cartels. These are criminal organizations but behind the scenes, a more powerful dynamic is in play. Lloyd Billingsley
When some among the migrants commit violent crimes -- through
car break-ins, burglaries, vandalism, fentanyl dealing, identity theft,
strongarm robberies, rapes, and other violent crimes, it is the
working class citizen who suffers. At times, they pay with their
lives.By Rajan Laad
Dems give illegals welfare, taxpayer-funded health care, in-state tuition and protect them from deportation through sanctuary laws. In return, the illegals vote for Dem and the ballot measures the want. The illegals function as the Dem imported electoral college, canceling the vote of legitimate citizens and legal immigrants, blocking reform and keeping Dems in power. Maybe that is what Michael Bloomberg had in mind when he called California “a great example for the rest of this country.” LLOYD BILLINGSLEY
The president of FAIR Dan Stein discussed the report, stating that “Roughly the equivalent of the entire population of Ireland has illegally entered the United States in the 18 months President Biden has been in office, with many being released into American communities.”
He continued, saying “In that time, the Biden administration has blamed an unprecedented surge of illegal immigration on all sorts of external factors, except their own sabotage of our nation’s immigration laws.” SPENCER LINDQUIST
According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform’s 2017 report, illegals and their children cost taxpayers a net $116B annually -- roughly $7K per alien annually. A recent study by the Heritage Foundation found that low-skilled immigrants (including those here illegally) cost Americans trillions over the course of their lifetimes, and a study from the National Economics Editorial found that illegals costs U.S.over $140B annually. As it stands, illegals are a massive burden on American taxpayers.
Releasing to the streets gang members eligible for deportation is nothing new in Santa Clara County. ICE published a report in 2018 detailing that 142 gang members whom the agency was seeking to deport during a nine-month period in 2017 were released by local law enforcement rather than being transferred to federal custody; Santa Clara County led the nation, releasing 22 gang members. DAVE SEMINARA
As reported by Breitbart Texas, the arrest of migrants with existing criminal records has risen more than 350 percent since 2020. According to CBP, the number of migrants who have criminal convictions for Homicide and Manslaughter rose from 3 encounters in 2020 to more than 60 in 2022. More than 120 migrants with homicide or manslaughter convictions have been encountered since January 2021 — compared to 11 during the Trump era. The increase reflects those convicted of prior offenses committed in the United States.
Joe Biden and other Democrats have spent the last four years repeating the mantra “no one is above the law.” Yet Biden has advocated policies that would, as the San Francisco Chronicle recently noted, effectively make the United States a sanctuary country.
Illegal aliens continue overwhelming the state, draining California’s already depleted public services while endangering our lives, the rule of law, and public safety for all citizens. Arthur Schaper
From April 2020 to April 2021, more than 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, according to data from the National Center for Health Statistics. An overwhelming majority of those deaths came from opioids, and fentanyl smuggling has surged at the southern border since the start of Joe Biden's presidency.Joseph Simonson and Collin Anderson
“Joe Biden is great on immigration. I guess depends on your perspective. If you’re a human trafficker, or drug dealer, you’d give him an A-plus, but theAmerican people would give him an F. The crisis at our border was not only entirely predictable, it was predicted. I predicted that if you campaign all year long on open borders, amnesty, and health care for illegals, you’re going to get more migrants at the border. That’s what’s happened since the election.”

Texas Cops, Border Agents Apprehend Large Migrant Groups, Marijuana Load
3:13 Texas Department of Public Safety troopers teamed up with Border Patrol agents to interdict drug and human smuggling incidents near the Rio Grande border with Mexico. Agents also apprehended two large migrant groups who crossed near Rio Grande City, Texas.
Texas DPS troopers assigned to Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star received information from a Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol camera operator who observed an All-Terrain-Vehicle (ATV) loaded with what appeared to be migrants and bundles of marijuana moving north from the border near Escobares. DPS spokesman Lt. Christopher Olivarez tweeted photos of the vehicle after troopers made the apprehension.
The driver of the ATV, a Mexican national, sustained an arm injury after he collided with a DPS vehicle. The troopers placed him under arrest after they found approximately 182 pounds of marijuana packed in bundles.
Troopers arrested another migrant, also a Mexican national illegally present in the United States. The third suspect fled back across the border to Mexico.
Rio Grande City Station Border Patrol agents also encountered two large migrant groups in as many days, Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez tweeted. The agents apprehended 283 migrants in the two groups that crossed near La Grulla, Texas.
Border Patrol officials reported the two groups contained 44 family members, 58 unaccompanied minors, and 181 single adults who came to Texas from Jamaica, and “various Central and South American countries,” Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol officials said in a written statement.

EXCLUSIVE: 130K Migrants Apprehended in Texas-Based Border Sectors in October
3:15 Agents assigned to the five Texas-based Border Patrol sectors apprehended more than 130,000 migrants during the first month of the new fiscal year, according to a source operating within U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This represents approximately 63 percent of all apprehensions along the U.S.-Mexico Border in October.
U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley, Laredo, Del Rio, Big Bend, and El Paso Sectors apprehended slightly more than 130,000 migrants in October, according to an unofficial Border Patrol report reviewed by Breitbart Texas. This comes on the tail of 1.26 million migrant apprehensions in these sectors during all of Fiscal Year 2022, which ended on September 30. `
In October 2021, agents in the Texas-based border sectors apprehended 98,646 migrants who illegally crossed the border between ports of entry. This October’s apprehension of more than 130,000 migrants marks a record-shattering increase of nearly 32 percent. In October 2020, shortly before the election of President Joe Biden, agents in these sectors apprehended only 46,114 migrants.
This October’s apprehensions of 130,000 migrants in the Texas-based border sectors is down slightly from the 136,314 migrant apprehensions in September.
The El Paso Sector jumped ahead of the Rio Grande Valley and Del Rio Sectors to become the busiest of the nine southwest Border Patrol sectors, the report revealed. El Paso agents apprehended approximately 53,000 migrants. This is up from nearly 14,000 apprehended in October 2021 — an increase of nearly 280 percent.
Del Rio Sector apprehensions fell from 43,000 in September to approximately 42,000 in October. However, the October apprehensions are up by 50 percent over last October’s apprehension of just over 28,200 migrants.
In the Rio Grande Valley Sector, agents apprehended approximately 28,000 migrants. This represents a slight increase from September when agents apprehended 27,863 migrants.
The Laredo and Big Bend Sectors followed with nearly 6,000 and 1,300 migrant apprehensions respectively.
